I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever
you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will
be loosed in heaven.
Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a
nice morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. It is Friday and
the day we pray for those who are working in the fields of Harvest for our Lord
Jesus. Today as we pray for those folks, please pray for by name, "The Men of
Harmony." This all men's choir sings a strong message about salvation for our
Lord Jesus. By all means if you see they are coming to a church near you, go
and hear them. Let's get to the message.
5/4/2012 Promises From God (Day 13) Matthew 16:19 - I will
give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, whatever you bind on earth will be
bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
(NIV)
I can remember as a lad of sixteen that once in a while my dad
would come to me and ask for the keys to my car. (I had two cars and a truck
when I was sixteen and he would need to borrow one of mine once in a
while.)
But think of most kids this time of the year, around prom
time, and the boys are asking their earthly dads, can I have the keys to the
car? And after that long talk about drinking and driving, and staying out of
the back seat (yes I was young once), your dad might hand over the keys to the
car. Now, back also when I was a kid we did not get trusted to the keys to the
house, we trusted everyone, as nobody locked the doors and if they were locked
because you were going away for a few days, the key was left in the milk box.
But here we find in Matthew that in the words of Jesus, He is
going to give us the keys to heaven. And whatever we bind on earth will be
bound also in heaven... God is good, another great promise of
God.
Dear Father in Heaven... Thanks for trusting me with the keys
to heaven, thanks for saving me from my sins and thanks for setting examples for
us to follow. Please answer our prayer requests according to your will for
us... In Jesus' name we give thanks and praise... Amen.
Now go forth, sharing your blessings, and loving God so that
you will receive the "keys to heaven." Love Ya. Pastor Dan.
