Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I
am with you always to the very end of the age."
Good Salvation Wednesday morning, my dear brothers and
sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North
Pole with the sun peeping through the windows of our warm and comfortable home
that God has lent to us till we are home with Him and in the mansion that will
then be our forever home. The biggest and longest running "Help Wanted" ad
surely is in the Bible. And our work, if we care to go to work for God, does not
change, it is to tell all the Good News that the "Kingdom of Heaven is near."
Please pray today for the unsaved and also pray for those who are saved that we
get off our lazy backsides and go to work for Jesus getting the word of
Salvation out to the masses. Let's also try our very, very best to give this day
back to Jesus by living to please Him.
March 7, 2012 "Help Wanted" 3 Matthew 28:18 - Then Jesus came
to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age."
(NIV)
Let's also look at Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the
world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is
baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And
these signs will accompany those who believe in my name they will drive out
demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their
hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all. They
will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
(NIV)
Let's get together and agree today that we are going to do our
very best to answer that "Help Wanted" ad for Jesus and we are going to work for
Him. Let's take a look at Matthew 28:18 - Then Jesus came to them and said,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." 19 Therefore go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you.
Do you see what is going on here? Jesus has been given all
authority in heaven and on earth and He is turning it over for us to handle. He
is getting ready to go back up to heaven and He is giving us marching orders so
to speak, and we need to get in step and get the job done for Him. We take a
look at the day and say, hey I am too busy to work for Jesus today, I will do it
on Sunday. I wonder just how many people think that their pastor only works
on Sunday and then just a few hours. I don't know of any pastors who only work
on Sunday, in fact, I would say most don't take a full day to rest, but keep on
keeping on for Jesus day after day. All authority in heaven and on earth was
given to Jesus and He trusted us to carry out His work... We are told,
commanded, to go into all nations and make disciples out of people and baptizing
them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Those are
some tall orders. We are disciples of Jesus and He is telling us to make more
disciples for Him.
I have told you time and time again that all of you need to
attend a good church and you need to be involved. A pastor cannot do it all,
you must go out and bring in people telling them the good news of Jesus
Christ. We need to reach out in the neighborhoods around the churches. As I
grew up in the City of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, I watched as neighborhoods
changed and those big beautiful churches closed their doors and why, because
they did not go and reach out to their new neighbors. Some built new churches
in the suburbs but most would just not invite in those new people. Oh, maybe
they spoke a different language or were a different color, but for whatever
reason those doors got locked. Some of the church buildings got in such bad
shape the roofs fell in, others sent in pastors to sort of close out the books
and the buildings were sold off. But God does not see color and He hears and
speaks in all languages and a lot of those buildings started to have "real
church" and they came back. Why am I telling you this, because if we, and I am
saying we, go out and we take the good news to ALL people, we do not want to turn
away if our working for Jesus takes us into a path where the people are
different than we are... You know that is the nice thing about this line. A
lot of you I would not know if you came and knocked on my door. I do not know
your color or even where you are from. We all have a few things in common and
the biggest is we love Jesus and should be working for Him... Today, my dear
brothers and sisters, please, please answer the call from Jesus. "Help
Wanted." Please do not tell me you don't have a job, for you do, and regardless
of your health, your checkbook balance, or where you live, YOU CAN ANSWER THIS
"HELP WANTED" CALL. So please do just this... "Go into all the world and
preach the good news to all creation."
Dear Father in Heaven, we are ready, forgive us of our sins
and send us out on this Salvation Day that we call Salvation Wednesday. Lord, help us in all we do and in all we do may we do it for You. Help us to repent
and more in the name of Jesus. In Your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth working for Jesus and you can start by sharing
your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
