He called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority
to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. These are the
names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his
brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and
Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and
Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions. "Do not go
among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost
sheep of Israel. As you go, preach this message; 'The kingdom of heaven is
near.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out
demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take along any gold or
silver or copper in your belts. Take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic,
or sandals or staff, for the worker is worth his keep.
Good Tuesday morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a
cold day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, but with both the Son
and the sun out bright it will surely warm today. Tuesday and our prayers turn
to praying for cures for those dreaded diseases like cancer and heart problems,
and kidney failure and even mental illness. And yes, pray for demons to be
driven out of folks. Also please keep in your prayers, Vicki, Sterling,
Luella, Stanley, Carol, and Dolores.
March 5, 2012 "Help Wanted" 2 Matthew 10:1 - He
called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out evil
spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. 2 These are the names of the
twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew;
James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas
and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon
the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. 5 These
twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions. "Do not go among the
Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of
Israel. 7 As you go, preach this message; 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'
8 Heal the sick, raise the dead,
cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received,
freely give. 9 Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in y our belts. 10
Take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or staff, for the worker
is worth his keep. (NIV)
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and
forever. (NIV)
So the help wanted sign is out again today and we watch how it
might be today if Jesus were to call His disciples together. Would it go like
this - He called twelve of His disciples together and gave them authority to
drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. These are the
names of twelve WHO MIGHT HAVE RECEIVED THE CALL. There was Neal, sometimes
called Marvin and his brother Phil; there was Duane and Dave, and two men named
Larry, one who is a pastor, the other runs a salvage yard. There was Timothy and
Daniel; there was Kevin and Grant; Bennie and Rick. Now all of these men I
know would answer the call and in fact did answer the call. You see, we
folks, we as in you and me, are the disciples of today, and once again we see
that Jesus still has that "Help Wanted" sign out and once again we find that we
do not need to carry money in our belts for when we work for the Lord He will
take care of us. Brothers and sisters, I don't care where you are in life, you
can answer the "Help Wanted" sign Jesus has hanging out. Now please note in
these scriptures that He, meaning Jesus, called His disciples to Him and gave
them authority, and then sent them out. He did not tell them to go to a church
or synagogue and wait for people to come to them, Jesus sent them out. And
where did He send them? "Go rather to the LOST SHEEP and give them this
message, The Kingdom of heaven is near."
Now the names I mentioned, and I know all of them that I named,
some sing, some preach, some teach, but all have the same message to share...
THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR. Now when these men and many more men and women
have answered the call, the "Help Wanted" sign is still out. Why is the sign
still out? Because the harvest is ripe for the picking and the workers are
still few.
Will you answer the call today, please don't put it off till
tomorrow because the Kingdom of Heaven is near and God our Father just might
send Jesus back today. AMEN. Years ago when our kids were young, most of us
worked more than one job, and today I am telling you this... You need to be
working more than one job, one job is the one you think about that gives you
that pay check, and the other is working for Jesus.
Dear Father in Heaven, Here I am, Lord, it is I, Lord, and I
stand ready to answer the call, and today, Lord, I would like to pray it this way,
and pray others would join in. Here we are, Lord, and it is we, Lord, and we stand
ready to answer the call. Lord, forgive us of our sins this day and send us
forth working for You. In the name of Jesus, I ask Your will to be applied to our
lives this day. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth sharing those blessings and helping others and
answering that "Help Wanted" sign for Jesus. Amen. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
