Thursday March 1, 2012 Jesus Still Heals 4

When Jesus came into Peter's house, He saw Peter's mother-in-law laying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on Him. When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."

March 1, 2012 Jesus still heals (4) Matthew 8:14 - When Jesus came into Peter's house, He saw Peter's mother-in-law laying in bed with a fever. 15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on Him. 16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases." (NIV)

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)

Isaiah 53:3 - He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. 4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. 6 We are like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. (NIV)

"The Healer" "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, surely He bore our sorrows, and by His stripes we are healed." (Lois Irwin 1926-)

Each day when I talk about "Jesus still Heals" I want to put that scripture from Hebrews, Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV) And I do it for a reason, because Jesus is the same and we know it for a fact that Jesus healed when He was here on earth and since He is still the same that means, yes, right, "Jesus still heals."

Ok, let's take a look back at the scripture now, Jesus went to Peter's house and found that Peter's mother-in-law was sick in bed. Jesus touched her and healed her, and then what happened? Mamma-in-law got right up and served Jesus. So I ask of you this question today, as we pray for healing, and I for one surely believe Jesus is still in the healing business. Let's say you are sick, you are down with something big like cancer, or something small like a fever, and you were to ask Jesus to heal you and He did, right on the spot. What would you do next? If He healed you, say on a Saturday afternoon, would you be heading for the bars that night or would you be looking for a church service either Saturday night or go to bed early so as to get up for church on Sunday? Would you go right out and be like you were, or would you start to serve Jesus at once? How would you handle this? If people at your work place knew you were sick, and let's say you had cancer, and you had it taken away by God, would you go out and tell others? Would you go to work for God right away, or just not say a word? The Bible tells us that Peter's mother-in-law got right up and started to serve Jesus. Think about it, folks, for maybe Jesus knows what we would do, but do you know? Once again in this scripture we see that Jesus drove out demons and the Bible tells us many were brought in and He healed them all. The Bible also tells us that Jesus healed many to fulfill the words spoken by the prophet Isaiah. So that is why I wrote those words accounting for this from Isaiah 53:
Jesus still heals, and I for one still believe it today. This Sunday I am going to preach on this subject, and communion will be served. Anyone in attendance who might wish for prayers for Healing will be prayed for and anointed with oil in the name of Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven, through the hands of Jesus and as per your will I ask for healing for those on our prayer lists of this week and past. Heal Vicki, please, and also Dolores. Take away their pains and sufferings, please touch the cancer of Allie and remove it and also from Ronald... Heal them according to Your will for them. And I will be sure to give all the glory and honor to You... In the name of Jesus I ask that You have Jesus in our schools, in our churches and in our families, and in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and please do not be afraid to pray for healing for yourself and others, for "Jesus Still Heals." Love ya, Pastor Dan.
