Thursday Dec. 1, 2011 The Journey 2011-20

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.

Good first day of December, my dear brothers and sisters. Thursday and the day we pray for our families and for our schools. And again I ask that you pray for the family of God. Please remember to pray for Vicki and please add Nicole Fitzsimmons to your prayer lists. Nicole is a school student and is having serious surgery on December 20th. Please pray also for the Ministries of Carry The Light and for the food pantry and those coming to help and also those coming for food. Still needed food, about 600 boxes of Mac and Cheese plus canned fruit.

The Journey 2011 Day 20: Titus 3:1 - Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. (NIV)

As we mount up in the sleigh and I put the top up this morning as it is cold, and yesterday one person was looking down and almost fell out. (If I am going to tell a story, I might as well make it a whopper.) However, riding in the sleigh on the journey is the only story, story on this trip. Today sort of a side trip, as we look down from the sleigh at the parking lots at the malls and the streets around them, and even our highways and byways. We get the look like our "bear in the air" might get. (Bear in the Air, a truckers term for a police officer in a plane or chopper taking a look at traffic.) Anyway, I went to the scriptures in Titus where it talks about how we should listen to our police officers and obey the laws of the road. Yes, Bibles, written way back in the day, is good as always for our living of today and it will still be good for up coming tomorrows and tomorrows and tomorrows.

Titus 3:1 - Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities. So that is what I am doing today, I am reminding you to listen to the rulers and authorities. Here is the scripture from my King James Bible...

Titus 3:1 - Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to do ever good work. (KJV)

Principalities, to me means the state or local governments and folks, a magistrate is another name for a Peace or Police Officer.

So I am telling you this day, it is time to put down the cell phone, put down the texting and other distracting things you do inside your vehicles while you drive. It is time to not slander others (meaning no popping the bird at car drivers who have cut you off) and to obey the rules. The scripture tells us to be considerate, and to me that would mean cut others a brake (yes that is spelled the way I want it to be spelled) when it comes to traffic. You remember the brake pedal it is the one to the left of the go pedal. Use it rather then the horn. Use signals and please be careful. If you think you gain time by cutting others off, you might find out that you lose all you gain if you are in an accident and must wait for that Magistrate to fill out paper work, and then lose your car while it gets repaired and so on and so forth. When it comes to traffic, don't follow the leader, BE THE LEADER, and when it comes to our Lord Jesus, then FOLLOW THE LEADER, and work with Him and for Him. The Bible tells me to remind the people... YOU HAVE JUST BEEN REMINDED...

Oops, we were just cut off by a big jet, almost hit the sleigh, and it said Air Force One on it... Could it have been?

Dear Father in Heaven, Please help my hands, Father. You know what I am talking about. Lord, forgive us of our sins this day and help us to remember we are followers of Jesus even when we are in our cars and in line at the shopping malls. Lord, help us to share the love of You and to be peaceful in all we do... Please answer our prayers as per Your will. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and love the Lord and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan. Cell Phone 717 991 0754
