Pearl Harbor Day 2011 The Journey 2011-24

God Bless America, Land that I love, stand beside her, and guide her through the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, God Bless America, my home sweet home.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, MY HOME SWEET HOME.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it was just seventy years ago on this date when in the hours of the morning, peace on our earth, on one of our military bases was broken by bombers from Japan. If you were to ask most people today, what day is it, most would not be able to answer it. IT IS PEARL HARBOR DAY.

On this Salvation Wednesday I want to just side trip our Journey and ask a few questions. For me, well, little Daniel Webster Lehman, Jr., was just about seven months old and of course only remember what we studied in school and what I was told about Pearl Harbor. I do remember the years after it even into my days in elementary school when we had "air raid drills." Some of you might remember them.
My questions for you today are pretty simple. We had the same thing happen again on September 11, 2001, when we were bombed by our own stolen airplanes. Again, back when I was a child and the streets were still dirt and the dead sea just had a bad cold, our country was not ready on December 7, 1941, for what would happen, nor were we ready on September 11, 2001. Are we as a country any more ready today, no, that is not the question, ARE YOU READY TODAY IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WERE TO HAPPEN AGAIN?

Dear brothers and sisters, I am not talking about if you have a bomb shelter built in your basement, I am talking about if you have made your reservations for heaven through our Lord Jesus. I can't help but wonder how many people were not ready with God, how many got ready in a few minutes as things closed in, and how many of those stuck with what they asked God that day.

Today I want to thank all of our veterans, I don't care if you served on front lines or did the paper work at home to support the front line men and women. All who went into our military were ready and willing to give it all if needed... THANK YOU FOR THAT.

To a few of my best friends who are veterans, I say thank you. To wife Dolores, son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Dian (who met in the Navy), to Sharon, Grant, to Chaplain, Pastor Richard Denison, to friends Tom Mozer, and Dan Steel and a whole lot whom I am sure have forgot to mention. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, my home sweet home. And to our grandson DANIEL LEHMAN, thanks for your service this day in the Navy.

Today, besides praying for our veterans and our current military, please pray for the families of our teenagers who have been killed in traffic accidents the last two days. In Adams county, five teenage friends were killed in one crash, and in Lancaster county, two sixteen-year-olds, twin brothers, and their 12 year old sister, killed in one crash. Pray, warriors, pray.

Folks, be it a bomber dropping a bomb on our country, or a hijacked airliner being run into a building, or a crash of a car along a road, are you ready to go home to God, or would you GO TO HELL? It is our own choice where we spend forever and ever. Will you first join me today in renewing with God, and then will you join with me today and each day in a soul searching mission for the Lord?

We who are saved have a mission to carry out for God, and that is to get people to fall in love with Jesus. Let's start it clean today.

Lord, Father to us all, forgive me of my sins and all others who are asking as they read this message today. Then, Lord, bless us so that we might take the word to the world as we are ordered to do. In the name of Jesus, send us forth clean. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your love of Jesus and your blessings and let's hit that song one more time today. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
