Tuesday Dec. 27, 2011

On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived. When the time of their purification according to the law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, (As it is written in the Law of the Lord. "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord.") and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord, "a pair of doves or two young pigeons."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, I was going to take the week off, but God has changed up my mind a tad on that. So I want to move on with the story. I pray all of you had a very Merry Christmas, and that God was good to you and blessed you well.

We were so blessed. Some of our family came to church on Christmas Eve, and after the service we did a gift exchange. Our Ministry Team, Dolores, Pam, Grant, Wanda, and myself were also together at church on Christmas Eve. We also exchanged a few nice things. Grant baked us pies. Other of our children called us on Christmas day. We got to share our Christmas dinner with great friends. Then Dolores and I spent a quiet day, trying to catch up some much needed rest.

Please pray for Vicki who wants to try some Jell shots in her knee. Also pray for Kathy who has cancer and is with Hospice. Her stepmother is at the Bridges and her dad comes each week to be with his wife in church. Also please keep praying for Wanda's parents, her dad, Glenn, is in rehab and her mother is recovering at home. Both have had bad cases of brocades and more. Pray also for Grant who is having back and knee problems. Our son Matthew needs daily prayers, he is in deep depression.

Luke 2:21 - On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived. 22 When the time of their purification according to the law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, 23 (As it is written in the Law of the Lord. "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord.") 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord, "a pair of doves or two young pigeons." (NIV)

So now we know that this tiny baby, born in a stable because of there being no room at the Inn, had left that area and went to have their special child circumcised according to the law of Moses. So I want you to notice that up to this point, shepherds from their fields nearby and the angels were the only ones mentioned in the Bible who came to the manger. I would think that all the ones in the inn, might have stopped by, but again that is just me reading that into the story. I want you to take note of who was not at the manger, and that was kings bringing gifts. The only King at the manger was the King of all kings, the King of the Jews, and He was the baby in the manger. Tomorrow we are going to look at those kings who brought the gifts. How many were there? Hint, I am working out of the Bible and not the song book.

Dear Father in Heaven, Please help me more and more with the details of the messages, so that I can write in a way people understand them. Help me with spelling and grammar and all the little signs I need to put in, signs like ;:',"?!, etc. Lord, please keep blessing this line, and Lord, hear our prayers and answer according to Your will for us. And Lord, thanks for all You do for us, and thanks for the food pantry and all who help and bless them and also all who come for food. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and loving on Jesus and your family. Love ya,  Pastor Dan.
