And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you: Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Friday and the day we pray for all those working for our Lord Jesus in the fields of Harvest. It is also COMMUNION DAY on the line. I do pray that all of you enjoy communion as much as Dolores and I do, it is very, very special.
Prayers also for Vicki who will be having major surgery on September 13, 2010. She is now going through all the pre-surgery testing. Pray that all goes well on the pre-testing and please keep her in your prayers daily. For Janet, please keep praying, husband Charles tells me that each day is better than the one before. Dolores still needs prayers and asked me to tell you, thanks for the cards that are coming, she did not know I did this until I confessed yesterday. She is loving those coming to Mrs. Claus. Please pray for the storm to keep on keeping on out to sea. Thanks, Lord. Pray also for big John Henry who has retired from teaching but on that substitute list, and those kids are blessed to have a great CHRISTIAN teacher in public school. I am blessed to have him as a friend and brother and on this line.
Blessings 5: Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you: Do this in remembrance of me." 20 In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, this week I have been writing about blessings again, yes, I wrote about them about a year ago, but I never look back to see what I wrote then. We could, as you know, talk about this subject each and every day of our lives and should never tire of it, for the blessings keep on flowing. I do want to make this statement and I don't know how many of you would agree with me or not...
We are blessed with so many things, food, the air we take in, clothes, children, grandchildren, spouses, a roof over our heads, cars, trucks, jobs, friends, and I could go on and on and on and on... but I believe that above all else we are blessed by Jesus and all the things He has taught us by the way He lived here on earth, how He calmed storms (He is doing some of that right now on the East coast); How He fed thousands with very little and even had leftovers. He gave us instructions on how to live, how to pray, how to love others and again, I could go on and on, but to me, above all else the best, the very best of all blessings that He gave us was this> He gave us His Body, all broken and His Blood, all spilled out. He did this to cover our sins, our burdens, our worries. Jesus did not do this to win a popularity contest, He did it for us. When He was on the cross, folks, you and I were on His mind. He loved us, He cared not just about us but for us. He heals us from sin daily and He also heals us many, many of our ills and hurts. Our best blessing ever in my opinion was just this... Jesus died to save us from our own self. He died so we might live forever and ever and ever. He died so that if we believe we can spend forever with Him in a place we call heaven. He died so we do not need to go to Hell, but we have a choice on it.
As I said, today is special. Let's first do our daily prayers.
Dear Father in Heaven, please bless and protect all those working the fields of Harvest for you. Lord, please be with Vicki each day, around the clock, healing her body of all things wrong. We give thanks for Janet getting better each day, we pray for her and Dolores, and also for John as he returns for duty in the classroom as a sub. And Lord, thanks for all You have done for us, and do for us and will do for us... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Folks, invite a friend to communion with you today, at work, or at home... invite someone...
Now folks, this prayer, I am only leading, this one is between Jesus and you. It is personal, please pray in faith and from your heart as we always need to do... Let's get cleaned up for communion...
Dear Father in Heaven. Forgive me please as I am a sinner and I need to be washed in Your blood. Thanks for dying for me on the cross and thanks for forgiving me. I believe that You did die on the cross, and that You were risen from the dead and You are alive and well now and someday will judge me for heaven. Please Lord, I am not worthy of this, but clean me for heaven. Then, Lord, help me repent of my sins and stay clean, and then put me to work, working for You to bring in the lost and doing other things You ask me to do. Thanks for loving me enough to die for me... I love You Jesus, and I ask all of this in Your Wonderful Name... Amen.
Ok my dear brothers, let's have communion...
Dear Lord, bless the bread and juice to be the body and blood today for our communion and help us to remember You. Amen.
And remember this, as we break bread together and with Jesus, we should always pray before we eat and break bread. Listen to the words from Luke...
Take your bread now... Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you: Do this in remembrance of me." Eat the body right now folks... --------------------------------------------- Thank You Jesus for Your broken body, Thanks for doing it for me.
Now take your Juice or wine... Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." Drink now of The Blood of Jesus, the Blood of the New covenant.. -------------------------------- Thank You Jesus for Your blood which is washing us clean... Again thanks for dying for us all...
THE GREATEST BLESSING OF ALL, JESUS, HIS BODY AND HIS BLOOD... AMEN.
Now go forth, be careful on the roads this weekend, and yes I will be writing on Monday, it is Labor Day and my labor for God is a labor of love... Now I must say it... go and share those blessings, and yes, go and share communion... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
