September 1, 2010 Blessings 3

A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Wednesday, and the day we pray for the unsaved and ask God to use us to help bring in the lost to the feet of Jesus to be saved. Also prayers today for Beverly, who has Stage 4 colon and liver cancer. Pray for our others with cancer also, Ron, Kathleen and I am sure there are more. Please keep praying for Janet, Dolores and Vicki, all with major pain. And also pray for Eleanor Saylor.

Also a reminder that on Friday we are going to have "online communion" so please bring juice and bread with you to the computer. To me this is always special, and if just one of you think it special it is worthwhile.

Blessings 3: Proverbs 28:20 - A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. (NIV)

If we are faithful to the Lord we will be richly blessed, so let me tell you what happened to me already this morning... I have been to the Giant Food Stores to pickup the day old bread, meaning the stores own bakery products that are going outdated today, not already outdated but outdated today. Thanks to our dear friends Grant and Wanda who have turned this day over to us, we have been blessed. I just happened to have the trailer on the back of my car when I went over and it is a good thing I did... wow, what a load of bread, cakes and stuff we got for the food pantry. We have four freezers, one for the bread and pastries and it was getting low. So today we can truly say that we were blessed and why, because we are blessed to be a blessing and these goodies will go back out to people in need. Because we have purchased freezers for this, NONE ever goes to waste...

Now let me talk to you just a tad about this scripture and then I must run for today is cooking day and I am running late. There are a lot of people who are very rich in dollars who will not be punished because they did not just set out to be rich, but indeed got their riches because they would keep giving it away. You see, folks, you just cannot out give the Lord. Now folks, if you are one who loves the Lord and are not blessed with riches in dollars, you surely must be blessed with riches in your life other than dollars. Maybe a big family (we have that), maybe a lot of food on the shelves (we have that), maybe you have a good voice and can sing for others (I keep trying). I want you to really think about it, what has God blessed you with?

Now let's look at this part of the scripture. But one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. Now let me ask you this, those who are eager to get rich, have you met one of them or many of them? Always looking for a lot of money without doing a lot of work, or one who cheats others to get ahead. A few examples might just be some of those that come around in the spring and want to seal coat your driveway. Charge you a big dollar and put down "black water". Or maybe the ones who come to an older person and want to work on their roof. You have all read about them. Or the office worker who thinks it is ok to tab the boss's register. Each one is sorry once they are caught, but it is in the scripture, "But one eager to get rich will not go unpunished." Folks, trust in Jesus, really trust in Him, give to His work and watch your blessing grow...

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day, thanks for the message today, be with those on our prayer lists and please, Lord, heal those cancers, and take away Pain... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth sharing those blessings and watch your blessings grow... love ya, Pastor Dan.
