September 2, 2010 Blessings 4

"Blessed are the pure of heart for they will see God." "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Thursday and Families and Schools Day on our prayer line. Pray hard for our schools and families. High school fall sports and Friday night Football starts many places this week, pray for safety. Please keep praying for Vicki as she readies for surgery on September 13. We need to attack this early and often as Vicki has many health issues, the surgery is badly needed and is serious, as all surgeries are. I visited Janet yesterday and she is improving, up and walking, but in some really major pain. Please keep praying for Dolores, she is trying to hide it from me, but I catch her crying in pain.

REMEMBER tomorrow we have communion, and remember this also, it is a really blessing to join together at The Lord's Table, even if we cannot see each other, we can see God and He can see us.

Blessings 4: Matthew 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God." (NIV)

Yes these are just two of the blessings that are mentioned in what is called the "Beatitudes" and I invite you to read all of them, and you can find them in your Bible! Ok, I will make it easy for you... Matthew 5:1/12. I want you to take a good look with me at these two today... "Blessed are the PURE in heart, for they will see God." Let me turn that around for a minute and it might make us all sit up and think about it more. Are you ready for this, and you know I don't lack for words some days, I try hard to tell it like it is, like God plants it on my mind. So today God is telling me we have two choices here...

1. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." Follow Him and be truthful about it, remember He does know. Walk with Him daily, and live for Him daily. Yes, He forgives us when we sin, and He knows when it is a mess-up or when our heart is really not pure. Now the next one.

2. Shame on those who hearts are NOT PURE, for they will see Satan! Now those are my words of course, and why am I saying that? Well, we must have a pure heart to see God and Jesus is telling us that, so I believe it. Then if we don't have the pure heart, who else is there to see but Satan?

There is no middle ground here, folks. We have a choice, we do, you see Jesus died for our sins, and He blessed us with His Body and His Blood, He forgave our sins which He took to the cross with Him.

Freedom is not free, Jesus gave His life for us. Like our America, Freedom is not free as many have died to keep us free, but today I am talking about our personal freedom. And folks, we can live in a free country but if we are full of sin, if we have not been born again, then indeed we are not free and will not be until we come to Christ. Folks, we can have military people die to give us a free country and they have and I thank them for that. And we can live in this country, even if we do not believe in God, but those who live here and don't know Jesus are not free. Now listen to this... There are people who live in countries that do not have freedom, but some of them have come to Jesus and they are free... WHICH FREEDOM IS BEST? I love America, but I love Jesus more than America. I truly do. I love Jesus more than I love Dolores, I love Jesus more than I love my children, I love Jesus more than I love You, and I for sure love Jesus more than I love me, and yes I do love me.

Now let me repeat my statement again... Number two from above...

2. Shame on those who hearts are NOT PURE, for they will see Satan! Now those are my words of course and why am I saying that? Well, we must have a pure heart to see God and Jesus is telling us that, so I believe it. Then if we don't have the pure heart, who else is there to see but Satan?

Now let's look quickly at the other verse: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God." Folks, we have a military that is often called on to be peacekeepers but that is different to me. Peacemakers... To me what God is saying here is we need to talk to others, we need to tell others the "Good News" of our Lord Jesus and we try to get them to come to Jesus and be saved. Again, if one does not know Jesus then he or she has no peace. And folks, you just cannot keep the peace until the peace is made in the first place. Someone say amen to me on this one, am I right?? And again, you have no peace until you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior...

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to be a peacemaker working for you, yes, I want to keep the peace also, for after we have people come to You, we surely want to follow up and not let them slip away. Father, please watch over our schools and all who have anything to do with them, and Lord, please watch over our families, and help them stay together, help them remember that families are needed, and Lord, I pray today for Your family, the family of God. Be with and heal Vicki, Janet, Dolores, Kathleen, Ron, Eleanor, Pastor Tony, Ruby. Lord, I just ask that You forgive me of my sins and get me ready for communion tomorrow. I love You very much. I pray all on this line can say the same. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Now go forth living for God, Loving God and all others, but putting none above God. And folks, do I need to tell you this... yes... Please share those blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan. And here is our information again.
