"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects Him who sent me."
Good Rainy Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, it is raining here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and if it were snow, we would need to jump up to spit!! (How about that?)
Reminder, Communion online tomorrow morning. This Sunday is World Wide Communion Sunday and we are going to serve communion tomorrow. It is always special to me, and I pray it is to you also. Do you believe that September is over already? Where has the time gone since we got out of high school? Seems like when sitting in home room in the afternoon for those final five minutes of the day it would just not pass, but since that last day of school, the clock went into high gear.
Thursday and the day we pray for Families and Schools... today please center your school prayers on Saint Patrick's School in Carlisle, Pa., and for the healing of their students that were on board the bus that crashed in Washington yesterday. Please also pray for the family of Joseph Clabaugh, driver of the bus who died in the crash. The bus was a charter bus from Wolf Bus Lines in York Springs, Pa. I want to say here that in MY OPINION, Wolf bus company owned by Brad Wolf and E and B School Buses owned by his Brother Ed Wolf and his wife Vicky are the best in the business... Wolfs are very, very good, and in fact my dear wife and I entrust Ed Wolf and his mechanics to take care of our North Poles Santa Buses. Please, folks, if you are planning a bus outing don't let this turn you away from Wolfs. They are indeed the best of the best in travel. The investigation might just turn up that this was indeed a medical problem with the driver. Pray please for all involved.
Also prayers are still needed for Vicki. When a nurse changed her dressings she put on the wrong kind of tape and when Vicki removed it, off came her skin. Ouch!
Listening to God 4: Luke 10:16 - "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects Him who sent me." (NIV) (Words of Jesus)
Luke 10:1 - After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place where He was about to go. 2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among the wolves." (NIV)
Let me start out today by saying that we who love Jesus, we who are indeed Born Again, are the disciples of today. No longer are there eleven (12, less the one who turned on Jesus). No longer are there seventy-two. It is now up to us, all of us, and the rules are the same... "The Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." And we are still like lambs among the wolves for there are people out there that for sure are going to turn against us just as soon as we start talking about Jesus.
You do not need too look far to see that is going on. On this day we call schools day and families day we can see it in our schools, no praying out loud. Even if friends sit together to eat at lunch someone will surely complain if they hear them praying together for their food, or talking about Jesus. And even in families, and the Bible tells us that families will be divided. Nevertheless we go out and we speak up for Jesus and we tell others the good news as commanded by our Lord and recorded in Mark 16:15. We also need to learn from our Lord that there is a time when we must dust off our feet and move on.
Luke 10:9 - "Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.' 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into the streets and say, 11 Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this; The kingdom of God is near . 21 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town." (NIV) (and again the words of our Lord Jesus)
Brothers and sisters, we need to listen to these words of our Lord and we do need to be out working in His fields of Harvest before it is too late. Last night on the news it showed farmers working hard and into the night bringing in the corn before the rains of today hit. They wanted to get it put up, the fields were ripe and the rains were coming... Just an example of this. The fields of Harvest are ripe for teaching about our Lord Jesus and we need to get it done fast, for brothers and sisters, the Lord is coming back, and although I am not wasting time even trying to figure out when, I mean even Jesus does not know, but I am not wasting time because we have work to do to tell the good news.
Let's look again at the main scripture that God gave me today.
Luke 10:16 - "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects Him who sent me."
Look at the power that God gave to us, yes, to us, for again we are the disciples of today and since Jesus is the same today, well just look. When we are telling folks about Jesus and they reject us, then they are rejecting Him also. We will be told, this is not the place to talk about it, this is not church. This is a club or so many excuses and often it is one or two people who get that ball rolling. No different today than when a mother, using her son, brought schools to take prayer and Bible reading out of the schools. Then something strange happened, her son grew up and found the Lord. Again, if people reject us coming in the name of Jesus then they are rejecting Jesus and even the one who sent Him. Some will say we don't believe in Jesus, but do believe in God. Again if they reject us telling them about the good news of Jesus they are rejecting Jesus and God the Father. Also be aware of a person that will say this when you are talking to them about Jesus... "Yes, I believe in the man in the sky." Folks, if those people still think the man is in the sky, how can they be Born Again, because "The Man" must be living in your heart... AMEN.
Folks, over the past two weeks we talked about talking to God and listening to God, and they go hand in hand. We can also put this to work in our families, we should take time to talk to each other and also to listen to each other. Kids, talk and listen to your parents, and parents talk and listen to your children, even after they are grown up. And of course get your families together and talk about Jesus, and to Jesus, and teach them to listen to Him. TOMORROW, COMMUNION! Be here as we give our sins over to Jesus to be washed away... Tomorrow's lesson will be on the "Last Supper".
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the rains of today, please, Lord, protect us from floods and protect our neighbor from basement flooding, Lord, they have rebuilt four times and each time put in more sump pumps. Help it all work today, Lord, they are good people. Lord, be with the Wolf families who operate both the charter buses and the school buses. Be with the family of the driver and also with those children who were injured. Lord, help all of us who are going to the fields of Harvest and protect us, and teach us when it is time to dust off our shoes and move on. Lord, sometimes it is hard to do as we want to see all people come to You. We do not want to give up on even one lost soul. I remember well, Lord, how I was the lost sheep and You took me back. Lord, be with Vicki and heal her, and please, Lord, look after the others on our List. Thanks, Lord, for listening to us, and now, Lord, help us to listen to You. Help us to repent and as we get ready for communion tomorrow, help us to look over our sins and give them to You and help us to repent... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings and share the Love of Jesus (which is your best blessing) and know this today, Jesus really really loves you and so do I... I really do... love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 29, 2010 Listening to God 3
My Dear Brothers (sisters), take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says!!
Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday! Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Salvation Wednesday and the day that we who are truly "Born Again" work to get His Word out for Him and get folks to the feet of Jesus to be saved. We have work to do, folks, and sometimes it requires us to give up some things we might really like to do, to work for Jesus. Please keep praying for those on our prayer list. For young Allison who has been cleared of cancer but is still in treatment and needs prayer... For Kathleen who has cancer and her husband Tom and Ronald who has cancer and his wife Donna, both who refuse to stop working and speaking out for our Lord Jesus... For Dianne Ritchie who is in treatment for Pancreatic cancer. She lost her husband, Mike Ritchie of Ritchie Bus Lines not too long ago. We also need to pray for our leaders, those who lead our country and our states, and folks, first pray for their salvation, for as I look at it, and someone will give me heat on this, we have a lot of those in Washington who say they are Christian and who support abortion. And I don't think that can be done. To be a Christian is to be Christ-like and our Lord Jesus Christ did not kill unborn babies. And more heat from this one... You cannot be a Christian and hate others... now folks, these are not just my opinion; they are in the Bible, which my dear brothers and sisters, makes it a fact!!
REMINDER: On Line, Holy Communion, this Friday. This coming Sunday is worldwide communion. We are going to have supper with our Lord Jesus on Friday. So please bring your bread and juice to the computer with you on Friday.
Listening to God 3: James 1:19 - My Dear Brothers (sisters), take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry 20 For man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21 Therefore get rid of it all the moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (NIV)
James 1:22 - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says!! (NIV)
Let's take a look at our scriptures for today. First I must tell you this, I am still amazed that each morning day after day, year after year and find that our Lord God gives me a message to write. God might give me weekly subjects, but it is one day at a time with me. This is just another form of His Amazing Grace.
Have you ever gotten mad and "blew up" and then after thinking about it you wish you had it all to do over again? Please permit me to answer that one for you... Yes, you have, and yes, I have. Before we get all the facts, we lash out, before we talk to a person we put them down in anger. And who does it happen against most often? The ones we love dearly. And so often when we get angry and then we lash out we find out we might just be the one who is wrong, or most wrong. The word tells us that we should be quick to listen, and not just listen to God but to listen to other people, and God's people. Do you know, folks, and I just want to put this in - We learn more with our ears than we do with our mouths, so we could become much smarter if we just would keep our mouths closed and our ears open.
Our scripture for today tells us that God does not like us to become angry, it puts it like this... "For man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Then it tells us this, and this in my words please, we need to clean ourselves out and humbly accept the word planted in us. Sounds to me like God planted all the good stuff in us at birth, it is in there, and if we do not cover it with dirt and filth, and we look deep inside of us after getting God to clean us, we will find Him. You know Him, our Lord Jesus... Am I saying that our Lord Jesus is planted in us from birth? Yes... Listen to this scripture again and follow me on it one more time...
James 1:21 - Therefore get rid of it all the moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (NIV)
We are to accept The Word planted in us... Now follow me on this from the book of John.
John 1:1 - In the beginning was The Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (NIV)
Now we see this word, This Word, THIS WORD, that is planted in us is God... Now watch this.
John 1:14 - The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. (NIV)
Ok, and who was/is/and always will be The Word that became flesh? Jesus, of course... So there you have how I figured that Jesus is planted in us from birth. Amen.
And now our second scripture of the day... I will be quick.
James 1:22 - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says!! (NIV)
What this is telling me is do not just listen to what The Word is, or reading your Bible and learning about Jesus, we need to follow The Word, we need to LISTEN TO JESUS, and we need to follow Him. So you claim to be a Christian, if the time comes when they arrest people for being a Christian, would you be arrested? Think about it, and brothers and sisters, start really living for Jesus and start building that case against you so no one needs to ask you if you love Jesus; they will see it on Your face.
Dear Lord, please help us to come nearer and nearer to You, and Lord, help us to bring others to You to be saved. Heal those please that are on our daily prayer lists. Help us to listen to You and not to anger. In the name of Jesus, I pray... Amen.
Now go forth and have a blessed day and along the way, please share those blessings.
Love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 28, 2010 Listening to God 2
"This is my Son, Whom I love. Listen to Him!"
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. I saw on the news this morning that there is a dinosaur display set up in the Pennsylvania Capitol lobby. The news said that it was 160 million years old. Well, golly, I do think they might be lying some for GOD DID NOT MAKE THIS EARTH THAT LONG AGO. May I suggest that they get out their Bibles and check some facts? Oh, by the way, that Apollo Dinosaur is not the only dinosaur you can find in the Capitol buildings in our State House and also in Washington. (Did you like that one?) I believe that we had dinosaurs, I just can't believe they were that old. Our Bible, God's word, is very clear, before He made the animals, He made the heavens and earth and it is just not that old. So who are we going to believe, God, or some scientist? Now just in case you believe that those animals were around for 160 million years, then what else in the Bible don't you believe? You see for me, you either believe it all, or you don't believe anything. There are churches out there that seem to pick and choose.
Ah, Tuesday, and the day we pray for cures for those diseases like cancer and heart problems, but not limited to just them. We also pray that God gives knowledge to scientists to work on cures if God desires to not send the cure direct. God is good, one way or the other we will take it and we will give all the glory to God... AMEN.
Listening to God 2: Mark 9:7 - Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: "This is my Son whom I love. Listen to Him!" (NIV)
I often wonder if God ever thinks like this or says something like this... Hey you folks... SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO ME. I mean, we are His children, right, and we are the sheep of His pastures... I ask you this, how often have you ever said to your kids, will you please just shut up and listen to me?
John 10:25 - Jesus answered, "I tell you but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me. 26 But you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, no on can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."
Let's look at the scriptures that God gave me today. In Mark 9:7 which comes out of the scriptures on the Transfiguration, Jesus was meeting with Moses and Elijah, while Peter, James and John were watching all of this. Years ago when I was doing a study to be a lay speaker and lay leader, I was given the Transfiguration to make a sample sermon on. Back then God gave me a different message than He is today. Today the message He is giving me is that we need to listen to Jesus... "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to Him!" Was God the Father telling Moses and Elijah to listen to Him, or was He telling it to Peter, James and John, or, or, or was He telling it to us today? Well since Jesus is the same today as He was back then, I have no problem at all believing He was and is telling us that today. He is telling us just this... "This is my Son, whom I love. LISTEN TO HIM." That, folks, would be as I like to put it, this is orders from headquarters.
Now let's look at the scripture from John 10. Look at verse 27 "My sheep listen to my voice!" Now you folks know this old preacher, or this preacher that is old, can I just put it like I believe it is... Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice." so if I said to you this morning "that if a person was not listening to His voice, that person would not be saved," some might say I am judging. Well I am saying it because Jesus is saying it... "My sheep listen to my voice" Let's look back to verse 25; "I tell you, but you do not believe." Could it be said I tell you but you do not listen? Now let's run them together again... I tell you but you do not listen, My sheep listen to my voice. And listen to this... If we listen to Jesus, if we really listen and believe, no one will ever snatch us from His hand.
Folks, tomorrow we are going to get into a different kind of listening. I have been talking about listening to God when He speaks to us. But we need to take a big look at listening to Him when it comes to the rules and laws He gave to us. You know the ones, like loving your neighbors and of course loving God. That's for tomorrow.
I want to make one more example. Right now I have six of our eleven dogs right at my feet, when I go to another room they follow me, and others will join. All but one listen when I call them, the one that does not listen cannot hear. My point, if I, and I am using myself as an example, if I would listen to God as good as my dogs listen to me, I think He would be pleased... Think about that. One more time... "My sheep listen to my voice." ARE YOU LISTENING TO HIS VOICE?
Dear Father in Heaven, help me to listen and listen up good... in Jesus' name, Amen.
Go forth sharing those blessings and listening, I said listening, to God... love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 27, 2010 Listening to God 1
That you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life, and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and we here at the Southern Location of the North Pole are getting some very much needed rain. It is just a beautiful rain. Last week we talked about talking to God, and now it is time to find out why we should listen to Him. Monday is the day we pray for our leaders and while you are praying for them, please pray about who you are going to vote for in November, ask God to help you with this. Folks, it is time we take America back for God, it is time we invite Him in, instead of throwing Him out of places. It is time to get back to God in all we do... and someone please yell out AMEN...
New on the prayer list today is Dianne Ritchie, wife of the late Mike Ritchie and owner of Ritchie Bus Lines. Dianne is starting chemo for Pancreatic Cancer. This request sent in by our dear prayer warrior James "Spike" Michaud. Add her in your prayers with Kathleen and Ron who we have been praying for to be healed from cancer.
Vicki is improving but is still in a lot of pain from her surgery, she had tubes pulled but still has stiches to come out. She is thanking God for His healing power and thanking all of you for praying for her. Zach came out of the coma yesterday and smiled at his father and today he is listed as fair condition. Zack was one of the two boys who were injured weeks ago and has been in a coma since.
Brothers and sisters, this coming Sunday is "World Wide Communion" Sunday in Christian Churches. So this week as we look at Listen to God, I would like to serve Communion on Friday, so let's start today to prepare our minds and bodies for this. Maybe as you remember you can take some juice to work with you, and maybe some paper cups. Take also some bread and then on Friday ask others to join us. Communion is special for me, and I know people on this line who for one reason or another right now do not get to church, mostly because of age and health, and they really enjoy the communion. Ok, time to listen to God...
Listening to God 1: Deuteronomy 30:20 - That you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life, and He will give you many years in the land He swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (NIV)
1 Samuel 3:8 - The Lord called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Hear I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." (NIV)
How often have we, and I am using the word we because we includes me, and I fit this example... How often have we talked to God, prayed our hearts out to Him and then just sort of did not listen to hear His answer? Guilty, I am, Guilty, I am. But wait a minute, do we just need to listen for God to speak to us after we have prayed or talked to Him? No, we need to listen for God to call on us to do things for Him or just when He wants to talk to us. Yes, folks, there are times when God might just want to get in touch with us, and do you think He is going to call you on the phone or send you a text message, or a fax? I think not. Take a look at the scriptures that God pointed me to this morning, and first let me say this, when God points me to a scripture or points your pastor to a scripture, that is God talking to us. God is not a screamer like some people we all know. God is not going to yell at you and for sure is not going to cuss you out. But He will speak to you. I wonder if when God speaks and we do not listen, does He think nobody is home and how might He mean that? I have heard that term used when a person seems to be "lost in space" so to speak, has an empty head.
In Deuteronomy 30:20 it tells us to listen to the Lord for the Lord is your life. The Lord is our life, folks. If the Lord is our life we really do need to be listening to Him, and I think we all agree on this. Then we see in the book of Samuel that God is calling Samuel... Samuel! Samuel! and then Samuel tells God, go ahead and speak for your servant is listening. Now I don't know about you but I am very proud, very happy and also very, very blessed to be called a servant of God.
As you go through this day, see if you can tell when God is talking to You. I tell you that God will talk to you each day and if you do not hear Him as he speaks to your heart then you are not paying attention. LISTEN FOR HIM, AND THEN LISTEN TO HIM. Do you see the difference there folks? First listen for Him to talk to you, and then listen to Him to hear what He is telling you. He might be asking you to do something for Him, He might be telling you of a danger that is going to happen, He might be just telling you to have a blessed day and that He will be walking the day with You.
God does not speak to us like this, but maybe He should... I had a tad bit of trouble talking in class when I was in school, would you believe that, I sometimes had trouble and just talked out. I had one teacher who would yell, DANNY, SHUT UP AND LISTEN... Sometimes I wish God would yell at me once in a while, I might do better at listening. Anyway, let's talk to God and then today, and please let me know this, today try and hear God speak to your heart, listen to Him. Then share it with us.
Dear God, open our ears and our hearts to hear You this day. We are good at asking You for things and stuff but we are not listening to You for what You are saying to us. Help us, Lord. And Lord, this is the day we pray for our leaders and pray for those who protect us, so please, Lord, bless them and bless our military and our police and fire fighters. And Lord, please watch over Dianne Ritchie and heal her from cancer, and Lord, it was good to hear from Ronald, and Lord, he, regardless of his cancer, is on fire for You. Keep him going, Lord, and Lord, touch also Kathleen who is also on fire for You even as she deals with serious cancer. Talk to me today, Lord, and open my heart to listen. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Now go forth, sharing your blessings and listen to God and also listening to others. Do you know we learn more when we listen than when we speak? Love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 24, 2010 Talking to God 5
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Summer is still hanging out here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Believe it or not, things are starting to gear up for our Christmas season... Old Santa and Mrs. Claus are starting to rebook all the places we were at last year and also letters have gone out in support of our food bank. It is an update type letter of what is going on, and some of you have received them in the mail. This Saturday I am going to post on this line a copy of the letter we have mailed for all to read. Hey, it is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work in the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus, the day we pray for all those going out and telling the GOOD NEWS. Folks, it seems to me that most people have no trouble telling the bad news or the trash news around the water cooler or coffee pot at work, but if you bring up the good news of our Lord Jesus, your boss just might pay you a visit and tell you, you cannot talk about Jesus at work. Folks, I worked at Central Dauphin School District for 25 years, most of the time heading up the transportation department. After I found our Lord Jesus and invited Him into my heart His picture hung on the wall behind me. The picture was the one with our Lord Jesus holding the lost sheep, the lamb that wandered away. Folks, I was that lost sheep... At no time was I ever asked to take down that picture. We also had prayer meetings in my office, we called them caring and sharing meetings. People knew what was going on and God protected us. There are ways to get it done and when you cannot, then dust off those shoes and move on. AMEN!!!!!!!!
Folks, new on our prayer list today is Joe Zimmerman from Annville, Pa. He is having serious shoulder surgery next Wednesday and we need to start covering Joe with prayer. I was blessed to be able to marry Joe's son to his daughter-in-law last summer. Please keep praying for Kathleen and Ron as they walk the walk with Jesus as they fight cancer.
Prayers for Anna Troutman whose son has passed away. She told me she did not know if he made it to heaven as he walked from the Lord and never came back. Anna, a wonderful believer, knows that we must know Jesus to get into heaven, there is no way around it, folks, no way. I think we born again parents would love to know that all of our family, children, grandchildren and so on are saved. That should be a parent's number one concern in life.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 - Be joyful always; 17 Pray continually; 18 Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (NIV)
Sometimes it is very hard to be joyful when you hurt so bad or you are so sick, yet we are told to be joyful always and pray continually. In other words talk to Jesus all the time, and smile. Yesterday we had a sing-along at the Bridges, we do this twice a month, we start with some choruses, then move to our song book for some hymns and then we play stump the piano player as our flock pick what they want to sing. Anyway, as we sang my eyes watched the room and there was a new resident assistant in the room with one of the residents. She had this big, and I mean big, smile on her face all morning as she worked with her assigned job and sang with us. After the sing-along I went and talked with her. "You love Jesus," I said to her, and she said very, very much. And folks, it showed. That is the way we should be, not complaining about what is wrong with us but being joyful in Jesus. It is easy to get caught up in this complaining all the time. But as you can see, even our hurts we are to give thanks for.
How are we to pray? I mean in what position should we be in? On our knees with heads bowed and hands folded as we teach our little ones? Should we be standing with our heads bowed and our eyes shut as we do so often in church? Let me look at where some people in the Bible prayed from...
Daniel 6: 10 - Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed. (NIV)
Jonah 2: 1 - From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. (NIV)
Matthew 26:39 - Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed. (NIV)
Mark 1: 35 - Very early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went to a solitary place, where he prayed. (NIV)
Luke 22: 41 - He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed. (NIV)
John 17: 1 - After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed. (NIV)
Acts 6: 6 - They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. (NIV)
Now I put down a lot of scriptures and I could go on and on, Jesus went to the mountains, he went to the garden. I think what the scriptures are telling us is, that it is not so important where we pray but that we pray, and also there is NO PLACE we cannot pray. I mean if you can pray from inside the fish, and in the Lions' Den then we should be able to pray at the edge of our bed, while driving our car. I think a great bumper sticker would be this. "Hang up your phone and pray," then maybe a little note under that that states, "your driving needs it." I often pray while in the bathroom, yes, I sing in the shower, but I pray on the throne, sort of a throne to throne thing with Jesus.
Tell your children to pray in school today, I know we have a man on this line, retired from school teaching, but still teaching as a sub, and I know he prays in his classroom. I bet he talks to Jesus often from inside at school.
Where do you go to pray? Do you take time to be alone with Jesus? Do you also pray with others? Folks, if someone asks you to pray for them, do it right on the spot. Take their hand and hold it and pray your heart out to Jesus. I often have taken Dolores to doctors' appointments and often have sat in the car. I also have prayed with people on the parking lot, I would see people coming out, having trouble walking and I would just boldly go over and ask, can I pray for you right now. I have never been turned down. In fact the only place I have been asked not to pray out loud is at the bus museum, and that just started. Time to dust off my feet. Anyway, I think at our computers is a great place to pray... Let's do it right now.
Dear Father in Heaven, teach us that we can pray anytime, anyplace, and You will always be there to hear those prayers. Teach us also that we can listen anytime and anyplace for You to talk to us, but often we forget, so teach us please. Lord, hear our prayers for healing this day, and Lord, cover Joe in the blood of Jesus as he has surgery next week. Thanks for taking care of Vicki and others. Lord Jesus, I love You... in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and praying for others and praying long and often... Love ya,
Pastor Dan.

September 23, 2010 Talking to God 3
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Good Thursday, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to schools day and families day on this line. It is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and while on our first day of fall it is to be over 90 degrees, I heard from my dear friend and classmate, Bobbie, from Florida, who tells me she is sick of the heat. Hey Bobbie, you can move back up here and enjoy our cool nineties. I owe you a note, it is coming soon.
Pray today for our schools, who are still in some cases trying to put God out, while in other places Christian clubs are forming each day. If you have an active church, one that believes in all that is in the Bible, and you are near a school, why not talk to them about a Christian club? What concerns me more than our Lord being thrown out of our schools, is the fact that people, God's own children, are putting Him out of their own family homes, which of course would make the home back into just a house.
Talking to God 4: Romans 12:9/13 9 - Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. (NIV)
When I first looked at the scripture of today that God gave me, Romans 12:12, It brought to my mind my dear brother and sister in Christ, Tom and Kathleen Sansoni. I married this wonderful couple a number of years back, and they have been through a lot since then. Job transfers to other places in the United States, times of layoffs and then the ongoing cancer of sister Kathleen. And when I look at them and I see this scripture I know this is what is in their hearts, I know them. They are joyful in hope, they have patience in affliction, the cancer, and folks, when one is standing by a loved one with cancer they are going through a lot, it is not easy. And still they are faithful to God and faithful in their prayers. Ron and Donna are going through much of the same, Ron has the cancer and Donna is the one standing by in support. Then we have Vicki, who has many problems and a lot of her support comes from this very line and people on this line. I could write a page full of people in the same boat today. Let me put it to you this way... Be Joyful, make a joyful noise unto the Lord, in fact, let's look at Psalm 100 right now.
Psalm 100:1 - Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord is good, it is He that hath made us and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations. (KJV) (King James)
I know sometimes it is hard to get up in the morning facing the same pain as you did the night before. God, we think, and I am in the boat with you all. God, when is it my turn to be healed, yet we go on singing for Jesus, all of us, maybe just in the shower. Try that, folks, get in the shower and sing out for Jesus. Maybe an old hymn like the Old Rugged Cross or a chorus of Holy Spirit thou art welcome in this place. Sing out to Him, talk to Him, ask God to renew you in Him. And then go forth, if you are going for that cancer treatment, go in with God's smile on your face, you might just be able to lead a lost soul to the Lord. Remember, God loves you, and when we get right down to it, in the very, very end when our Lord returns WE WIN... I read that in the back of my Bible.
Never give up, carry the affliction as long as you need to and trust God and be faithful in talking to Him. I have been told that all these bad things come from Satan, but I don't always believe that, but I do know this, I am not leaving God and going running to his empty life, his ways of sins. You see at one time most of my affliction was sin, and God has taken that away, and now there is nothing I cannot handle when I deal with it with my Lord Jesus. So if it all comes from Satan, the pain, the cancers etc., I say bring it on, Satan, for we are standing firm in our Lord and we are going to sing for Him. So, Satan, you master of evil, enjoy this today, listen in to this line today and hear our singing...
"Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art; then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee, how great thou art, how great thou art." And someone added the AMEN.
Dear Lord, we are going to be joyful in our afflictions until you take them away, until that time please carry them for us, and we will keep being faithful in our talks with You and we are going to do our very best to listen to You, and yes, Lord, I pray this day that any and all people who are on this line and have cancer are cured, in the name of Jesus, heal them, Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus, I ask You to heal them, Lord. Dear Savior, Heal them, heal them, and we will give You all the glory, it is not this line, it is not me, I am leaning on Your word when I ask, Heal them Lord... in the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
And now go forth and be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. And of course remember to share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 22, 2010 Talking to God 3
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, Salvation Wednesday, and the day we pray for those who are not saved or that we are not sure of, and also the day we pray for God to use us who are born again, who are saved, who are washed in the blood of Jesus to help bring in the lost. Also today please pray for Anna Troutman. Anna is one of our flock at the Bridges and her son has passed away. Sadly, he lives in Peru, and she cannot get to the funeral and for whatever reason he is staying there to be buried. I think her son has family there also. Anna recently had a bad fall and really needs our prayers for that. Prayers also for Pastor Tony and Ruby. Ruby is flying to see her sister and Pastor Tony's son is going to stay with him for the week. Prayers also for Kathleen as she readies for more cancer treatments. I got a note from Vicki thanking us for prayers and saying that each day is getting better from the surgery. Pray also about that job for Mark and also for Patty.
Talking to God 3: James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)
Most often known as the prayer of faith, this is just another example of how we should talk to God about our troubles, and also talk to Him about the good things. By all means please note that part that tells us that if we are happy we should be singing praises to the Lord. If I were to ask the average person how often does he pray a prayer of thanksgiving to our Lord on days when all is going good. Do we crawl into the sack at night and say, thank You Lord, this has been a wonderful day and I just want to praise You before I go to sleep? Be truthful now, it is so easy to forget when all is going well to talk to God about that. Hey, why tie up His time when all is well, right? Wrong!! God wants to hear from us when we are doing good. Let me ask you this, do you only want to hear from people who are complaining all the time? Do you want only those who are going to talk your ear off about problems to stop by your desk at work, or do you like to hear Good News? I thought so, well let me tell you that we need to sing and praise the Lord when things are going good, we need to shout out those victories for we have victories in our Lord Jesus.
Also in this scripture it tells us in verse 5:15, "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well." How often are we not giving it all over to our Lord Jesus, how often are we saying, maybe God will heal us and maybe He will not? Come on, folks, when you pray, when you have that heart-to-heart talk with God, and folks, that what it is, it is words coming from your heart, out your mouth and into God's ears and into His heart, and when you have that talk believe it to be happening as you talk to Him. If you are not praying in faith, IF YOU ARE NOT PRAYING IN FAITH, you are wasting your time. Have faith, my brothers and sisters, for we serve an all-powerful God, one who made this heaven and earth and the people in it, and let me tell you that if God made man and woman, and He did, then He for sure can repair them. If God built me and in His image also, He for sure can fix me when I get a flat tire, or a miss in my giddy up. He can cure the cancer of Kathleen as He has cured mine. Folks, there is not one thing out there that God cannot do, if you just ask in faith.
Folks, I want you to also think about this... I have heard people say, oh, I know that guy or that lady and they are very religious. Being a Christian is not a religion, it is a relationship, and that relationship is between us, each of us, one at a time and that of our Lord Jesus. A one-on-one relationship with the King of all kings, and the Lord of all lords, our Savior, Jesus Christ. And to have that relationship with Him we indeed need to have faith and we need to talk to Him often... Right, of course, it is right!!
Dear Father in Heaven, increase my faith today, increase it 10-fold each day for the rest of my life, I want to never doubt, never doubt in You. I want to be sure of the ground I am walking on and the ground I am going to walk out on in faith. I know, Lord Jesus, I can trust in You. You are the love of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth having faith and sharing those blessings. Don't be afraid to step out in faith, when working with our Lord Jesus we have faith and do it all the time. Follow Jesus, talking to Him and following what He tells you to do. Amen. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 21, 2010 Talking to God 2
"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven."
Good First Day of Fall Morning to you, my dear brothers and sisters. There is a nip in the air at the Southern Location of the North Pole today. Ah fall, I love it. Fall and Spring, no one can paint a prettier picture than our Lord God. Just watch over the next few weeks as He gets His color art going. It is Tuesday, blessed Tuesday and the day we pray for a cure to be given to us by Jesus for all those things like Cancer, Heart Problems, Sugar Problems, Liver Problems, yes, folks, God gave us the cure years ago for TB and a lot of other diseases and now we pray for the cure, be it direct from Him or through the hands of those He lent the talent to work on these things. We just would love to see the cure. And please today pray for all those you know, like Kathleen who has cancer, and for all those you know who like Pastor Charles who has had a stroke or other Heart related problems. Pray for Pastor Tony and others like him who have failing eyesight. Pray for Dolores and others whose spines are twisting. Pray for Janet and others whose backs are hurting. Pray for Blanch and others like her who go three times a week to have their blood cleaned because their kidneys have failed. And pray for all of us, including me, who have sinned.
Talking to God 2: Matthew 5: 43 - "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven." (NIV)
Folks, so many people give the name "Christian" a really bad rap, that I do wonder if half the people who claim to be a Christian even know what it means. To be a Christian is not to just believe in God, but to believe all that is in the Bible and to do your very, very best to live each day to be "Christ Like" for that is just what the word Christian means, Christ Like.
Sometimes it really is not easy being a follower of Jesus, for He indeed expects a lot out of us. It is not just raising one's hands in church and singing or going to the altar and confessing your sins, it is living for Jesus the way He wants us to live. Some of the things He expects from us are not easy, really they are not. The scripture that Jesus pointed out to me today is just one of those things... Pray for your enemies. WHAT!!! Pray for those who persecute you!!! Gosh that is very hard to do some days, very hard. It is easy to pray for those you love and for your children and family, but we are to pray for that person who just stood and trashed you and we are to love them.
So you ask, you are saying we need to pray for them and love them. Yes, I am saying that but only because that is what Jesus is telling me to tell you and what is in His Word. In fact, our scripture today is a quote from Jesus. When I was but a child I used to pray for my enemies, I would say a prayer like this... Lord, please don't let those guys beat me up. But did I ever pray for them by talking to God about them saying something like this... Dear Lord, I love those guys but they hate me, but Lord that is ok, please protect me from them and please help them get to know You so they stop fighting others and love You. No, I never prayed like that back when I was a child, I prayed for my parents, my brother sometimes unless he was the one beating me up. (He was bigger than me and it seems he would nail me once in a while.) And I prayed for my dog and for a new bike and things like that. God gives us many things that are hard to do, maybe it is the real test of our love for Him, but checking on our love for others... Let me ask all of you this today, how long has it been since we prayed for those we are fighting in the wars? I mean we stand and pray for our nation and we pray for our military but do we pray for the military of those we are fighting or do we pray for those who bombed us?
When I look at what is going on in New York, with the Muslims wanting to build that mosque near the site of the World Trade buildings, I must look it like this. First is it legal for them to build, and then, folks, we need to forgive those who were involved in the actions of 9/11/01. Chances are that those wanting to build were not involved. But we as Christians, ones who follow Jesus, are to forgive and love them. Hard, you bet, as I said, it is not easy being a Christian and when you tell people you are praying for the other side, well you might just find more people hating you.
Today's scripture is a hard one, so take time to talk to God about it, really that's what praying is all about, talking to God and remember when you talk to Him, listen, for He will talk with you.
Dear Father in Heaven, teach us to love, truly love, those who do not like us or even hate us. Lord, I see so much in life where hate is going on, going on all around us. Lord, help me not to fall into those traps of hating. Lord, please hear our prayers today for cures for those things that harm and/or kill us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth loving your enemies and praying for them, and hey, you might even share some of your blessings with them. Love ya, dan.

September 20, 2010 Talking to God
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, for our President, for our Military, for our veterans, for our police, firefighters, and all who work so hard to keep us safe and free. Also today please pray for Ruby as she travels to see her sister and for Pastor Tony who is staying behind. I must tell you this about Pastor Tony and Ruby. Pastor Tony is truly a pastor's, pastor, meaning when a pastor needs someone to talk to, he is your man. And his wonderful wife Ruby, well, I would call her a pastor also for a pastor is one who takes care of a flock and she indeed has always stood by our Lord Jesus and the work of her husband. Please keep praying for Janet as she heals from the major back surgery. She is getting better but the move is slow. Pray for Vicki, who is healing at home. Pray for Blanch and Dale and the Saylor family. Also please pray for my wife Dolores who has been ordered to bed for infection in her legs. And please, please keep Kathleen Sansoni in your prayers, flood heaven with them please. Kathleen has cancer.
2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV)
Folks, as I write again about talking to God, and I know I did it in the past, you will find that this is not a best of, this will be fresh as God gives it to me this week. One thing I will state as I start this series and that is we just do not talk to God enough. I am a board member and vice president and chaplain of the Museum of Bus Transportation in Hershey Pa. For years we have opened our meetings with prayer, we have also opened events and even work sessions. Our president would come to me early at events as we were often the first on location. We would huddle up and pray. Now because one person complained it has been stopped, turned over to what is called a moment of silent prayer and reflection. At our last meeting I timed it, it was 10 seconds. So let me see, we trust God so much to help us with the museum that we give him 10 seconds.
This morning on ABC27 news they were interviewing people about their polling places, the places they go to vote. In many places churches are used for polling places and they interviewed a couple of atheists who said that the polling places should not be in churches. Hold on a minute, if one does not believe in God then why are they afraid to walk into a church? Do they think that God just might be in the building? Notice to all non-believers, and I can tell you right now, there are NONE OF THEM on this line. But in case they might get their mitts on this, I want to tell them... I am sure you will find God outside the churches, but I am not sure you will find him in ALL the churches that are used for polling places as there are a few churches out there who seem to forget about God.
Anyway, this week we are going to talk about talking to God. And let's use this week those words of a good reporter... Who, What, When, Where, Why and How. Who should talk to God, What should we talk about, When should we talk to Him, and Where should we go to talk to God? Why should we talk to our Lord God? And How should we talk to God? Are there any rules on this, and what did Jesus say about talking to God? And did Jesus talk to His Father in Heaven? This week we will take a fresh look at this, but first this.
How often have you tried to get in touch with the phone company or the electric company, or maybe one of the companies on a web site? I have had it happen something like this... The phone rings and rings and then a machine picks up the phone and starts asking questions, and some just want you to talk to the machine. Let me see it might say, let me know what you need, just speak to me, and about that time my dogs bark and the voice will say, I did not understand your answer and they ask that same question over again. My statement to them is most often this... May I please speak to a person? You see, I am spoiled, for when I want to call on my Father in Heaven, I can just start talking to Jesus and Jesus puts my message right through to God the Father. I do it this way because I fully understand John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (NIV) You see this verse, these words of Jesus, tell me that to get to God the Father our only way is to go to Jesus. Not just our way to Heaven, but our prayers and in all we want to do. Maybe we could say that Jesus is the call screener for God The Father. The good news is that Jesus will never transfer you, never put you on hold, and will always answer your requests and questions and deal with your concerns. I also want to say this, He will not always answer you the way you want, but he will always answer. Often when Jesus answers us, we do not hear it and there is only one reason we don't hear it. WE ARE NOT LISTENING!!
One more thing and then we will check out for this day. When you are alone and you are talking to God one on one, do you talk out loud? I do, and I guess that is why I do not like those 10 second silent prayers. I am sick and tired of people trying to make my Lord Jesus silent. We are to take the good news to all creation, and taking the good news to people is talking to God with them.
Let's pray now, and folks, when you pray with me, please pray out loud. I am going to do just that as I do daily. My mouth is going as fast as my fingers...
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You and give You thanks this day for all things. Thank You for the day, thanks for this line of Yours. Thanks for hearing our prayers when we come to You. Please look at our daily prayer list and heal those who are sick and protect those who need protection, and Lord I pray for our President that He comes to you. Father, when I hear people talking about being a Christian and then find out they believe you can murder unborn babies, children of Yours, I cannot make that connection. Please protect the unborn. Protect our men and women in the military and bring them home safe and soon. Lord, heal Kathleen, and be with Tom. Heal Dolores and also me, and Lord, protect Ruby and bless her sister. And be with Pastor Tony, and Lord, heal him to work more and more for you again. He loves You Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray... Amen.
Now go forth, talking with God, through Jesus His Son and Jesus our Savior, and remember to share those blessings that have been poured out upon you. love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 16, 2010 God's Protection 5
"Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name."
Good go to work in God's fields of Harvest morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working the fields of harvest for our Lord God. So pray for your pastors, and pray for those who go on the road singing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and pray for your Sunday School Teachers and pray for all those who have "enough guts" to go into their own workplace and witness for Jesus and tell the good news. Folks, it is a lot easier for pastors to preach on a Sunday morning in their own church than for others to work as a witness for Jesus in places where Jesus is not welcomed. Although there are some churches that seem to forget about Jesus. (Did I say that?) I am going through a tad of that right now. I am welcomed with open arms at The Bridges where I pastor, but there is a place where I currently hold membership that is trying to silence me from praying. That is for another day.
Janet Wotring has asked me to thank all of you who took time to send get well cards to her. She was overwhelmed by the love poured out from this line by people who do not know her at all.
Brothers and sisters, there is a lot of Love on this line and it is headed up by Jesus, Master of Love, Master of Salvation. Jesus is in charge of this line, I am just His humble servant. AMEN.
God's Protection 5: John 17: 11 - "I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name, the name You gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name You gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, in this scripture we find Jesus praying to His Father in Heaven, asking our Holy Father to take care of us. Yes. we are the disciples of today, and while Jesus walked the earth He protected His disciples, then when He was getting ready to go to the cross, He prayed, and talked to His Father, also our Heavenly Father, asking Him to take over the protection, and folks, we still have that protection, just do as Jesus did, follow the example once more of Jesus and ask our Heavenly Father to protect us. Yes, ask Him to protect you, when you head out the door in the morning and get behind that wheel of your car, ask God to protect you, and maybe you should ask God to protect others from you. Hey, I never saw you drive... Ask God to protect you as You witness for Him at your work place, and if we look and listen to God, there will not be a day that goes by that we do not get a chance to spread the Good News, so ask God to open those doors, and to protect you as you walk in and work for Him. Remember, our Lord Jesus is the Great Protector, and we need that protection, for the Bible tells us that the world will hate us, us who follow Jesus. It is very hard to understand why, but facts are facts, and we will be hated. Jesus prays this to His Father.
John 17: 14 - "I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more that I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that You take them out of the world but that You protect them from the evil one." (NIV) Let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven, we still need that protection that Jesus prayed to You about when He was on this earth, so Lord, hear our prayers of protection this day, and even if we are hated, so be it, let us keep on working for You in all we do. You, Lord, did not say we are not to work for You when we are doing this or that, You said Go into all the world and tell all creation the Good News. Lord, right now I know I need Your protection and I am sure many others need it also. Protect us, dear Lord... in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and telling the world the Good, Good News of Jesus Christ and Salvation through Him... And everyone shouted AMEN. Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

September 16, 2010 God's Protection 4
It was the Lord our God Himself who brought us and our fathers up out of Egypt, from the land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. And it is Thursday and that means it is families day and also schools day on the prayer line, but first let me get this out... PRAISE GOD, PRAISE THE LORD. Vicki called last night and she is doing good, the surgery went well and we took time to pray and give God all the glory.
We do have a family prayer request from a mother who asks for prayer for her son Michael and his family as they are indeed having family problems. I have withheld the last name on this as I do on these kinds of problems. Storm heaven with prayers for Michael and his family, for God to protect and save that marriage. Also remember as you pray for families, please pray for the family of God.
God's Protection 4: Joshua 24: 17 - It was the Lord our God Himself who brought us and our fathers up out of Egypt, from the land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. (NIV)
Psalm 37: 27 - Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. 28 For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. (NIV)
Let's take a look at those scriptures and apply them to us today. Ok, right away you are going to say we do not have slavery anymore. Wrong, for my dear brothers and sisters, slavery is alive and well in the United States of America. First let's look at all those coming across the borders illegally, most from Mexico. They are paying to come to America and most have jobs waiting and work dirt cheap and must send the money back home, or pay those who sneak them over. People doing jobs that Americans will not do in the most part. Picking crops, orchard work, some factories, and I could go on. Is some of that slavery or not? Then I understand that there are many who have got addicted to drugs who are being sold to people for sex, or maybe rented for sex and some of these are children. But let me stop there and ask this, how many of us are slaves? Oh, did I say that? Brothers and sisters, you know me, I tell it like I hear God giving it to me. He speaks to my heart and I put my heart on the line for you folks. So how many of us on this line are slaves? I was a slave for a major part of my life. A slave to what you say? A slave to Satan and Evil! Now let me ask you that question again, are you a slave to evil? Dare I say this today, what about those Hooters girls, are they not slaves to their employers? Oh, don't get me wrong, some people want to be held in that kind of slavery. But folks, we have a loving God who will protect us from slavery, we do not need to be held captive to evil or any body or any thing. Oh, if I put this one in, are you held in slavery by that little plastic thing called a credit card, or what about the cell phone?
Brothers and sisters, God is not different today. And it was the Lord our God Himself who brought us and our fathers up out of Egypt, from the land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes, and he will do it today, He will bring you out of slavery of any type right now. Now listen to this, He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled, and that was then and this is now. And He will protect us on our entire journey, and I am not talking about our journey to the mall or in the case of my dear friends Tom and Diane, who take a boat cruise once in a while. And while God will protect us on that boat cruise, he will protect us from dawn to setting sun, meaning from the dawn of our lives to the setting sun of our lives. God's protection is there, just ask Him to apply it to you... Amen. Now if we take a look at the Psalm that I used today we find out one of those little things that God expects from us for this protection... Oh, am I saying God's protection comes with strings attached? Well folks, God does have some rules...
Psalm 37: 27 - Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. 28 For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake His faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off.
What does this say? It tells me to turn from evil and that means repent!! This is in the Old Testament and where have we heard it in the new testament? Well, John the Baptist said it and so did Jesus. Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near... So let me put it to you this way to wrap it up today.
REPENT AND ENJOY GOD'S PROTECTION!!
Dear Father in Heaven, all glory and honor is Yours this day and every day for hearing our prayers and acting on them. Thanks for taking care of Vicki during her surgery, and now, Lord, we ask for total healing. Again we praise you for taking care of Janet and we give You the honor and glory as she is getting better each day. Your healing hand on the Saylor family, and on Michael and his family, oh, Lord, protect that marriage. Lord, also please heal Pearl, and Lord, as I think of protection, please protect my cousin Martha and her husband Dean as they travel. And Lord, as You protected those coming up out of Egypt in days gone by, please protect our military as they are stationed all over the world. Lord, help us all repent, and Lord, I really need that help daily for Lord, I confess I am just an old sinner saved by Your wonderful Grace... In Jesus' name I give praise and also pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing those blessings. And please pray for we in Carry The Light, as we have been asked to come along side of The United Methodist Children's Home in Mechanicsburg, Pa., this Christmas season. With God's help and help from others we will be able to do this... This is a new request for us, coming in from ABC 27 News. Praise God for His anointing... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

September 15, 2010 God's Protection 3
Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame for I take refuge in You. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.
Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, pray for people to be saved, Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, pray that God uses us to bring them in.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole and already a very busy one. I have received an update on Kathleen Sansoni from her husband Tom. Tom and Kathleen are dear friends of ours, I married them years ago in a park in Camp Hill, Pa. Kathleen has cancer, and folks, it is bad, she is going through chemo and more treatments are needed, yet she goes forth for the Lord going to work daily. I will post Tom's note to me at the end of the message today. You will also find some really neat stories about how God has protected people who are on this line.
Salvation Wednesday, the day we pray for the unsaved and that God leads we who are Born Again to them to help lead them to Jesus to be saved. Remember that we cannot save a soul, that is the work of our Lord Jesus, but we are to be working to bring in the crop. And I guess there is a message in this someday, but after we bring in the lost, or harvest the crop, we must keep working with them. A farmer does not stop farming that field after he brings in the corn, he keeps working with the crop, or has someone else do it, shelling the corn, making different things out of it. Then the farmer goes back into the fields and gets ready to get another crop going. Folks, the farmer's work never ends, never, and neither should ours as we work for the Lord.
Prayers also today for Vicki, I have heard nothing from her since her surgery, she said she would call me after surgery as soon as she could. Prayers also for Mark for a job he interviewed for yesterday. And of course prayers of praise for God's protection for all of us. God is protecting us right now, for right now an airplane could drop from the sky and hit your home.
God's Protection 3: Psalm 25: 20 - Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame for I take refuge in You. 21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. (NIV)
Psalm 32: 7 - You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. (NIV)
Psalm 40: 10 - I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly. 11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O Lord; may Your love and Your truth always protect me. (NIV)
Yes, brothers and sisters, it is going to be long today, so be with me, for God has planted so much on my mind this day about protection. Let's take a look at the scriptures that God pointed out to me for today and see what He has planted on my mind. First let's look at Psalm 25: 20/21 and let's pray it together.
Dear Father in Heaven, Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame for I take refuge in You. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in You. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
That Psalm makes a nice prayer as we ask God to guard our lives and to rescue us if we are in trouble. And folks as we talk about protection, we all at some time or other have had to be rescued. No, you say, you were not drowning in the river or hanging off the roof when the ladder went down? But what about all those sins, did not our Lord Jesus rescue you from your sins? Case closed on that, right?? We have all been rescued and all been protected and chances are it will happen again before we get the call to go home. Our scriptures are really nice, some we can sing, some we can pray, some we can sing and pray and all we can read and learn from and SHARE with others.
Our next scripture Psalm 32: 7 - You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. We are telling our Lord Jesus that we really are going to hide in Him or behind Him, we are going to lean on Him for protection from our troubles and that we also want to sing songs of deliverance. Gosh, a scripture that not just matches the subject but also the day, "Salvation Wednesday". Songs of deliverance, those great gospel singers sing them over and over again. The right songs at the right time can really help open minds and hearts to receive the Lord. I know, folks, for I have been there. Before I started singing, my dear wife on our second date took me to a gospel concert. I will never forget it, I was a young Christian, meaning I had not come to the Lord fully; many months before that date. I had come back after drifting. I will never forget Duane Nicholson coming out to open the concert at the Forum in Harrisburg Pa. Duane led us in Amazing Grace and then prayed for the event. Then two gentlemen came on stage and started to sing "The Old Rugged Cross", and folks, from way back that was and is my hymn, I just love it. Then something else happened, Dr. Jerry Goff came in from the back playing his trumpet, and my heart was opened for the night. Then near the end, a young man came up on stage from the back, he sang this song he wrote, "The Statue of Liberty". Yes, Neil Enloe sang it solo that night. That inspired me so much that I had an artist paint it on one of our motorcycles after Dolores and I got married. Wow, I am getting long here... One more scripture ...
Psalm 40: 10 - I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly. 11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O Lord; may Your love and Your truth always protect me.
What does this one tell me? We are not to hide what God gives us, that protection He gives to us, that faithfulness that He gives to us, we do not just want to put it in our hearts, we do not want to hide it there, we want it there, but we also need to process it there and then bring it out over our lips and tell it to the world, it is called THE GOOD NEWS. Then the scripture ends in a short prayer which we are going to use today...
Dear Father in Heaven, Do not withhold Your mercy from us, O Lord, may Your Love and Your truth always protect us, and may it heal Kathleen and Vicki and Dolores and may it help us in all we do this day, as we give thanks for another day on the green side of the grass, dear Lord. Lord, forgive us of our sins this day and use us in the fields to bring in the lost. Because of You, dear Lord, I am born again, and thanks, Lord, for those in my life and those in the lives of others that have brought them in to You for salvation and protection... Lord Jesus, I love You, and I pray in Your name. Amen.
Remember to share how you were protected and take time to read those that have been written. The one from Don is really neat, a different approach on how God protects us. Now go forth sharing those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
Dear Brother Dan,
I thought I sent you an update on Kathleen's developments yesterday, she went to see the radiation oncologist yesterday and the tumor is in her air passageway in the lung is cancerous, which is separate from the cancer in the sternum which the numbers were down. She will now be required to start pinpoint radiation on that area of the lung where the tumor is, in addition to her regular scheduled chemo treatments. she is obviously disappointed in this new development, which has been bothering her for the last 3 to 4 months, as she has been on oxygen at nights. So, yes the pneumonia was a misdiagnosis. However, God will be glorified out of this whole thing somehow. She is still going too work FT and and her oncologist has had cancer himself, He is Born Again and we are grateful about that. She needs ENCOURAGEMENT from fellow brothers/sisters.

Dear Pastor Dan, We were on our way home from a weekend spent at our little trailer we had up in Ortanna. A red truck was right in our path coming right at us at break neck speed. Burt swerved and we were pretty shook up but Burt and I and our little terrier dog were fine. That truck kept going. Then one new Years Day we thought we would go for a ride through the mountains in Adams County. We always loved driving through the forest. We were going up and all of a sudden we started to slide down the mountain on ice. We were so afraid that we might go over the right side of the mountain. Well as we prayed Burt got our truck stopped and along came a small truck with two men in and said they would help get us turned around and follow us down the mountain. I was sooo scared. They hooked up a heavy chain to our bumper and slick as can be we were turned around and we thanked these men and offered them money which they turned down. Well they were with us part way down the mountain when suddenly they disappeared There were no other roads to turn onto and I have always believed they were our Angels watching over us. Isn't it wonderful how Jesus protects us. Patsy and Burt
Hi. Rev. Dan...God protects me when I am about to think/say something unkind about another human being by reminding me that that person also has feelings, may also be hurting and in need of some kind words and unkind words from me will only add to that persons pain...CHEERS and prayers, Don...

September 14, 2010 God's Protection 2
"If any of you are without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
Good Tuesday Morning, and welcome to pray for a cure day on this line. Yes, now the day we set aside for God to either end things like cancer or lend men and women the talent to discover cures for these diseases. Also I have heard nothing from Vicki about how her surgery went, as soon as I hear I will let you know. Please keep her covered in prayer. Please also pray for Lanie D'Augstina (spelling) who has two tumors attached to her brain, so far, praise the Lord, no cancer, however, let's pray those tumors away. She also has lime disease.
Yesterday I asked if you would send me a short story of how God has protected you. After my closing today you will see one sent in from Glenda Leib of Carlisle, Pa.
God's Protection: John 8:3 - The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say? 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with His finger. 7 When they kept on Questioning Him, He straightened up and said to them. "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." (NIV)
You all remember this story of how Jesus was telling those gathered to stone a woman who had sinned by breaking man's laws. Jesus protected this woman by just asking that simple question, those without sin cast those stones (my words there but mean the same thing). But then Jesus went beyond that and added even more protection. This protection was to start her over without sin, He forgave her. The forgiveness of Jesus is one big protection that we will touch on later in the week. I do have one question about this. WHAT ABOUT THE MAN? I guess she committed adultery alone, right?
How often has God protected you? I would guess hundreds and hundreds of times that if you really thought about it you could come up with. But what about all those times you were protected and you did not even know it? God is good. I want to go way back in time and bring out one of the first acts of protection that God did for us.
Genesis 2: 8 - Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground, trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (NIV)
Now we remember the rest of the creation story, God made Adam a wife, and God told them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.. What about the protection part? Well, folks, God gave them all they needed, there was nothing in the garden they had to fear except, well, except for God, and they should have feared Him and listened to Him for they really had it made. Then they sinned by eating from that tree against the will of God. And we know the rest of the story, the protection was backed down, and things started to happen. Pain on childbirth, weeds in the garden... If man had only learned. I wonder, I wonder if we, each of us had never sinned in our lives, and we would fear God, would we be protected from all things bad today? Today again I want to bring out that scripture that I used yesterday for when those things happen, those hard things in your life and we start to question God. And yes, there are times, admit it, that we question God. I know I do it. So again I turn our eyes on Romans
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of THOSE WHO LOVE HIM, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
Dear Father in Heaven, we want to thank You for protecting us even when we do not know we have needed it. Thanks for protecting our military and please keep that protection around them. Lord, please stay with Vicki during that surgery, and Lord, I pray that the brain tumors leave Lanie and the lime disease also heals. I keep praying for Dolores also, Lord, that you take away her pain. And Lord, thanks for sparing our friends Glenda and John, thank You Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings and do not be afraid to ask God to protect you and your family, in fact, do it all the time. Storm heaven with prayers of protection for your family and mine and also for this line... love ya, Pastor Dan. (now read on to see how God protected Glenda and John AND THANK YOU JESUS FOR THAT PROTECTION... Amen)
Dear Dan:
This is how God protected John and I a few years ago. We were coming back from Norfolk after a show pulling the cargo trailer with a pick up . This was about 11:30 PM and we were on I-295. All of a sudden the cargo trailer was jack-knifing on both sides of the pickup; and then we were going sideways down the road. John got the truck straight and we headed for the medial strip. I thought for sure we were going to roll the truck and trailer. John (with God's help) got it stopped and in an upright position. We had lost a wheel off the trailer (and found out later the grill was in the wrong place for weight distribution since we had used most of the product we had taken). We were scared but not injured. And no one else was involved. Now that is God at work protecting us.

September 13, 2010 God's Protection
"Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beautiful rain we had yesterday! God is so good, and we really needed that rain, and God sent it! THANK YOU JESUS! First prayer for today is for Vicki who has many health problems. Today at noon she is having major surgery, please at noon when you pray for your lunch pray for Vicki also, cover her in prayer. Also today please pray for Blanch, for Luella, for Stanley, for Pastor Charles, for Peggy, for Dolores... And give a shout of praise as Janet is now able to make a complete walk around the block. She is indeed on the mend after major back surgery. THANK YOU JESUS! Today being Monday is the day we pray for our leaders in Washington, in our state houses and all those local leaders. We also pray for our veterans, our military, our police, firefighters and all who work to keep us safe. And please pray for those injured in a really bad bus crash in New York, where a driver tried to take his double decker bus under a low bridge.
God's Protection: Daniel 3:24 - Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, o king." 25 He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods." (NIV)
This, my brothers and sisters, is just one place in the Bible where we see God's hand of protection upon people, and folks, his hand of protection is upon us daily. Each day this week, God willing, I want to bring up ways he protects people that are recorded in the Bible and each day a few examples of how God protects us today. Now I know there are always those questions as to why God protects some and not others, but I am going to tell you that everyone, even those who hate God, or don't believe in God at all, have been protected. I will point out how God protected sinners. So please pray for me about this... And while today I pointed out the story about the fourth man in the fire, which is recorded in the book of Daniel, I just might as well tell you about a few times he protected this man named Daniel. Oh, that is my name.
Over the past month, month and a half, we have had people come to our food pantry for food that all had one thing in common, they lost their homes to a really bad fire. The most recent family that came was a young man and his wife The man, Todd, had just returned from Iraq when their home went up in smoke and fire. Like all those who were burnt out of their homes, Todd and his family, his wife, and their three K-9s were not hurt... GOD'S PROTECTION was upon them as it was Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were the ones protected in the fire that King Nebuchadnezzar had them tossed into. I have often thought about a fire in our home, about how I would get Dolores out of the house and also our eleven k-9s some of whom are blind. We have smoke detectors and I even test them (when I burn dinner). With that said, we have talked about how Dolores might need to just fall out of her bedroom window, we have talked about getting out... But above all else we ask each day for God to protect our home and our animals; we ask for God's protection daily.
When we prayed with the last lady who came for food, and I am not using her name, I did put her husband's name in and I don't want to ever say who all comes for food without their permission. But as we prayed with her and thanked God for His protection at the fire, we were reminded that God had also just brought her husband back safe from the war zone. But why some and not others? I just cannot fully answer that, it is one of those things we must just let to God and not question. Why would Jesus protect Joe and not John or Sally and not Sharon or me and not you or you and not me? I am sure it is all in God's big plan and if we really trust Him and have faith in Him we can just lean on this scripture...
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV)
Folks, think about this, how often has God protected you, a near miss in your car, a crash where you were not hurt, a fire in your own home? How about on the table having surgery? I could go on and on, yet I know people on this very line, even one from my own extended family who lost a daughter in an accident years ago, and again I point to the scripture above and we must lean on our faith with God to get through it for the pain of loss and that pain never lets up. Dolores lost both of her parents in a car crash, they walked through the gate together. I lost my mamma to the hands of a drunk driver. Things we never forget, but I also can name thousands of times we were protected by God (no I am not going to name them all right now). Think about it this week and answer me this, how many times has God protected you, and would you share just one with me so I can share it with others? Let's pray
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for Your protection over us, thanks for taking care of us for so many on this line at one time or another in their lives have been in the fire and You have stood with them. Life here on earth requires us to be protected every minute of each day of our lives, and Lord, You are indeed the great protector. Thanks for that, please Lord, be with Vicki and all others on our prayer line. Be their protector and healer this day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, sharing your blessings and also praying for Carry The Light Ministries. Today, September 13, 2010, we are kicking off "Operation Sharing Your Blessings", our once a year drive to fill the food pantry and get it ready for the big holiday push. Some of you might get letters, and maybe this week I will attach our annual letter to this e-mail. Please remember this, all have been blessed and all have blessings to share, for we are indeed "blessed to be a blessings". Love ya, Pastor Dan.

They replied, "Certainly, o king." 25 He said, "Look!

September 10, 2010 Good News 5
The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who work for the Lord, and it should be all of us. Other prayers today for Vicki, as she readies for her surgery Monday. Yesterday I posted Zack for prayers. I received more details in. Zack, Dallas, Alex and Connor, all buddies, were in a really bad car wreck. Two of them are still in the ICU, one is listed as critical and the other as serious. All need our prayers. We also have an update on another Zack and it is rather long so I will have it posted after my closing. So pray for two Zacks as you pray.
Also please keep praying for Janet, she is in a back brace, had her staples taken out yesterday and is moving forward. Pray for Pastor Tony, Ruby, Pastors Larry, Tim, Charles, Dan, Kevin, and pray for all the churches in the valley today (Route 850 out of Marysville, Pa). Please keep praying for Dolores, she is really bad. Also tomorrow is September 11th and we remember or should remember what happened just a few short years ago on that date. Pray that we have peace each day, and that all behave tomorrow including that man who calls himself a "Christian" Pastor, who wanted to burn the Koran. Folks, we have been warned we will be taken down for our worshiping of Jesus, but stay steadfast to Him. No place in the Bible can I find a place where we are to be disrespectful to others or their religions. Instead of burning the Koran, pray that the Muslims find Jesus, and many have.
Good News 5: Luke 1:18 - Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years." 19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news." (NIV)
There is a whole week's worth of messages in the scripture above, but I just wanted to, for now, point out the good news, and what is the good news? The angel Gabriel telling Zechariah that they are going to be parents. This was the announcement about the birth of John The Baptist. Now tell me, folks, over the years what is some of the very best news you have received? Might it be the finding out that one in your family is expecting a child? Looking back, I can remember how great the news was each time I found out we were going to be blessed with a child and then a grandchild and now those great grandchildren. A child is a blessing and it is Good News when we hear the word.
Now Gabriel got to share more good news when he talked to Mary, a virgin, about being the mother of Jesus. Good News of the coming of our Lord Jesus. Then do you remember this announcement...
Luke 2:10 - But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He Christ The Lord. (NIV)
Now you would think the good news could not get any better than that, but it does, it really does. We find Jesus (Luke 8:1) preaching and teaching the good news of the Kingdom of God and of course we can read the good news of the healings, of people being raised from the dead and it is all good news, and yes, it gets better and better. Listen to this.
Luke 14:1 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (NIV)
Wow, our new home in Heaven, our new home, a mansion with many rooms and we are not going to need to pay taxes on it, for Jesus PAID IT ALL!! Now it gets better yet, the good news gets better and better GOOD NEWS...
Luke 14:3 - "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (NIV)
And it gets better yet... Let me finish out this week of good news with this GOOD NEWS...
Revelation 22:12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done." 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (NIV)
THE GOOD NEWS FOLKS, THE GOOD NEWS... HE IS COMING BACK, HE IS COMING BACK, I SAID HE IS COMING BACK, CAN YOU HEAR ME, I SAID HE IS COMING BACK. Do you know Him? I could not end this week without this prayer. Will you join me in it today and get clear of sins? Pray with me in faith, and then please do our daily prayer after that... I cannot pray this one for you.
Dear Father in Heaven, I confess I am a sinner, and I ask today You forgive me please and help me get ready for Your return. I want to be with You, and I do have faith in You, Lord Jesus, I believe You died for me and were risen from the dead and until You come back for me, keep me working for You. Please hear our daily prayers and please honor them, dear Lord, healing those who need that touch and blessing those who preach and teach Your Word. In Jesus' name, I pray... Amen.
Now go forth and share the good news of our Lord Jesus and the Kingdom of God and share all your other blessings along the way... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
And did I say HE IS COMING BACK, AND THAT IS THE BEST NEWS EVER AND EVER, OUR LORD JESUS IS COMING BACK... HE IS, HE IS AND HE TOLD ME SO AND IT IS RECORDed IN MY BIBLE AND YOURS... BE READY, HE IS COMING SOON...

September 9, 2010 Good News 4
"The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, just beautiful. Fall seems to be coming on, and I love fall. Maybe I love fall because I am in the fall of my life and fast coming into winter. Praise God, that means it will soon be time to live not just for Jesus but face to face with Him...
Today, Thursday, it is families and schools day on this line, and remember as we pray for those, please pray for the family of God and please pray for my family as I pray for yours. Other prayers needed for Vicki and again I ask, please keep this lady covered in prayer as she readies for surgery on Monday. Also and I am getting more information on this. Please pray for Zach whose eyes have opened yesterday. Zach must have been in an accident, he has 42 broken bones, his pelvis and bladder are shattered and one arm also, and his brain is bleeding. Pray for Dallas (the person) who had brain surgery. And also pray for Dallas (the city) where twisters touched down yesterday, and you do see the s on twisters? Also pray for Carry The Light Ministries as we get ready for our annual push for the food bank. We only send out one letter for support. If your church or business would like to gather food for us, please let me know. Last year we helped 101 families at Christmas and many throughout this year, stocking complete kitchens with food after fires. This year we are asking the Lord for a number again. Will it go over 101, that will be all up to God, but whatever He gives us, we will get done, for He never gives us a job and does not supply the tools to get it done.
Good News 4: Mark 1:14 - After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15 "The time has come." He said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" (NIV)
Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)
Let's take a look at the first scripture first. (Makes sense to me.) John the Baptist had been placed in jail and that is a message for another day, but that did not stop Jesus who went on proclaiming the good news. What this is telling me, is regardless of what happens to a friend or a family member along the way, we must not stop preaching and teaching the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. If you notice Jesus does not just tell us or command us to do things, He, Himself also teaches us by example, but doing those things. As we we move to verse 15 of Mark 1 - "The time has come," He said. "The kingdom of God is near." On that part of the scripture Jesus is telling us that it is indeed time we get to work telling the good news and He even gives us the reason, what is the reason. "The Kingdom of God is near." Now some people laugh at that I guess, I don't, for I know the Kingdom of God is near. I think Jesus was telling us that one day soon this world will get that recall notice, but until that day, and listen to me on this. The kingdom of God arrives for some people, and others, well they have missed it. None of us knows the hour or the day when Jesus will return, not even Jesus knows that, and we also do not know the day or hour that we might get the one on one call home. Think about that real hard. The Kingdom of God is near and today it might arrive for all of us, or just a few of us. Heart attack, stroke, cancer, accidents, floods, fires, Jesus is telling us the Kingdom of God is near and I am telling you right now, it could be today and it will be today for a lot of people. Am I wrong? So with that said, let's look at the rest of that verse. "Repent and believe the good news!" Folks, we can read about the good news, and if you really want to read good news go to your Bible, but wait a minute, what good is that good news, if indeed you do not repent (turn from sin) and believe it?
I know of people who say they are Christians, and folks, that word is used so wrong and I ask this from my heart. How can anyone be a Christian if they do not follow the footsteps of Jesus? Will we slip and fall once in a while, I have, but with the help of Jesus I have gotten up, dusted off and went right back on following Him. I have repented from my sins, but still mess up once in a while, and I believe the good news of Christ found in our Bibles and I believe the Bible from front to back, and yes, I do believe creation took six 24 hour days and God rested on the seventh. If you don't believe one part of the Bible, how can you believe any of it? IT IS THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD. It says to repent and believe. I again find it hard when people say they are Christians, like our president does, and yet he still believes in the killing of OUR UNBORN BABIES. How can anyone say they are Christ-like, which is what being a Christian means, if they believe in abortion, or in gay marriages or living outside of marriage? And I could go on and on... How can people say they are Christians and use His name in vain or cut open prayer out of meetings? Jesus prayed in the open and also had quiet time.
So let's look at those words of Jesus one more time... REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS. Don't just believe it, REPENT AND BELIEVE IT.
And that final scripture. of today... Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." We should do just that, if we are indeed a Christian, then we need to be taking that good news, the same good news that Jesus preached about, and tell it far and wide. Tell it to all creation, and remember this, and a lot of people just might not think about it, all the world, includes your next door neighbors and those in your neighborhood. And sometimes we cannot go to those far off lands but we can support with dollars and prayer those who do.
Dear Father in Heaven, we really want to be like Jesus, in our hearts, so today help us to repent and believe that good news, for Lord, what good is good news if we fail to believe it? Most of what our governments call good news is lies, but we believe You, 100% of the time. Lord. bless our schools and our families and I pray today for the family of God that it grows. Be with Zack, dear Lord, and heal all those broken bones, we know that doctors cannot mend broken bones, but You can, Lord. Heal broken hearts today, and Lord, look after Vicki. Lord, thanks for our Bibles and the Word from You in them and thanks, Lord, for hearing our prayers. Thanks for running this line and using me to help. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Go forth, repent, believing the good news and sharing it and your blessings with others. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
