June 30, 2010 God Bless The USA (3)

Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You. Blessed are those whose strength is in You.

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Please pray today for Reverend Phillip Enloe and his wife Jan and their family in the passing of their 33 year old daughter Wensdee. Pray also for Wensdee's daughter Destanie who lives with Pastor Phil and Jan. Please also pray today on this Salvation Wednesday for the unsaved for we just never know when we will finish out here on earth. Pray also for God to use we who are saved to help bring in the lost. I also have a prayer request for Jake, who has congestive heart failure. Jake is a K-9 who belongs to our prayer warrior Jen.

God Bless The USA (3): Psalm 84:4/5A - Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed are those whose strength is in You. (NIV)

With Independence Day being this Sunday, July 4, 2010, I have been writing about God blessing this Nation, and if He might just stop blessing our Nation. You don't think that could happen? Look back to the days of Noah. I am also looking at our Constitution and our Bible together. Let's look again today...

Constitution Article 2: The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and together with the Vice President chosen for the same term, be elected as follows... Then it goes on to describe how the election is held and all should look at it, for the president and vice president are not elected by a popular vote but by the vote of electors. You need to read this a few hundred times to just try and understand it... Anyway, the president then heads up the country for four years and can run for and if elected be president for another four year term.

Genesis 2: 4/8 - This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being.

Now the Lord had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground, trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. (NIV)

Then the Bible goes on to tell about the rivers watering the garden and their names.

The Bible then tells how God placed man in the garden and commanded the man "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Now in my humble opinion I would think that this was the very first commandment set forth to man by God. It was also the first one broken.

Anyway, God went on to make woman from a rib of the man and called the couple "Adam and Eve".

Ok, now let me ask you this... We have had many presidents in the United States, elected into office by man... ALL have messed up in more than one way, and some a whole lot more than others. Now we expect a president to be perfect and we, of course, hold them to a higher standard than others. And of course the political parties hold the presidents of the "Other" party to higher standard than their own. In short, we expect a lot. Now God who made man to start with did not expect nearly as much out of Adam as we expect out of our presidents, but again they all have one thing in common. All of our presidents and also Adam and Eve... They fail in some way or another. Eve picked the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil on the advice of a snake. She gave it to Adam and both ate it.

How many presidents have gotten into trouble because of others giving them bad advice? Now let me say this... If Adam and Eve would have followed that very, very first commandment, they would have not failed, and if our nation's leaders would follow the teachings of God, and not that of other men and women, we would be a whole lot better off.

So again as I look at the constitution of United States of America, what I see is, if we in America would just learn to follow the teachings of our Lord God found in the Bible, we would be a whole lot better off. Our country would run smoother, and we would not always be at war. But God knew man would fail, and right away He told us there would be wars and rumors of wars. Tomorrow we move on in the constitution and the Bible as see where else we have failed.

Think of this my friends, we expect our president to be perfect, and God, when He made man, really did not make perfect. He, God, gave man one thing that really caused the mess. (No, it was not woman, cut that thinking out.) What He gave us was "free will". Think about it, we expect so much out of our Presidents, we set high standards, and we should, but we also should expect the same thing out of (this is going to hurt) (ready?) we should also expect those same standards out of OURSELVES. We, like Adam and Eve, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Harry Truman, George H. W. Bush, William Clinton, George W. Bush, and President Obama have all fallen in some way or another. Thank God we have a savior named Jesus who forgives...

Dear Father in Heaven, Adam and Eve broke what I have called the first commandment, but we have broken many of them since. Lord, forgive us, please, and Lord help us work for You, and help us to bring in the Lost. Dear Lord, comfort Pastor Phil and Jan as they suffer and try to understand the calling of their daughter. Bless them, Lord, please bless them. Also please take care of Jake. As You know, dear Lord, we just love our pets. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
