March 4, 2010 Worries and Blessings

"And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift a finger to help."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING. The sun is coming up in the East (wow I got that one right) and the sky is bright here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Spring is just around the corner. The other day I stopped in front of a building and looked where the snow had just melted and the flowers are on the way up. Dolores and I just sat there in the car and said "Thank You Jesus". Rebirth is coming, spring is near. Hang in there, you children of God.

Today is Thursday, meaning it is family day on the line. Prayers also today for Charles and Janet as they suffer pain in their bodies, Janet in her back, and Charles in his shoulder. Also please pray for the Saylor family. Prayers of thanks for God taking care of the Tom and Dianne on their trip and Art and Elaine on their trip and bringing both couples home safe. Prayers for Bill and Kelly in the death of their beloved grandmother. Please keep praying for "Gabby" and her family. Also prayers for Vicki who did not have pneumonia but does have many other health issues. Prayers also for Ruth and Hilda from the Bridges, both whom have been placed in the loving arms of Jesus (where we all belong) for His will to be done. Also Ruth's husband William who fell and broke his hip. Also for Ronald and others with cancer. Allison still needs lots of prayers but has had a few good days.

Worries and Burdens 3: Luke 11:46 - Jesus replied, "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift a finger to help." (NIV)

Today let me just talk a bit about those who are putting burdens on others. Yes, there are people out there that seem to just want to put burdens on others. Now in here it talks about the experts in the law, but let me go in deeper and name a few. While we all need to pay taxes, and the Bible even tells us to pay Caesar what is due Caesar, Caesars of today have gotten out of hand. Yes, our tax burdens, and that is what they have become, have taken it toll on a lot. You tell me if one of your big worries is not the IRS and the threats of them going over your income taxes... and the state tax. Here in Pennsylvania our Governor wants to lower the state sales tax from 6% to 4%, but wait, he wants to add it on clothes and a lot of other things that the poor folks must buy to survive. Yes, it is called putting in one pocket while you take it out of another. And taxes on your property, and moreso the school taxes, are way out of hand and do cause a burden and a worry on most people. Again we must trust God to get them paid for if we don't pay them our big government will sell your house that you might have paid for. You can see here these are people that Jesus has warned about doing this. Maybe we should point this out to our elected officials that this is in the Bible.

Others who might cause trouble and worries are those who work for the government and our "BACK YARD POLICE". Oh, and maybe you moved into one of those "gated" communities that have all those rules and you cannot even fly the America Flag at your home, so with that let me add to the list "fine print" contracts that you cannot read. Now while I could go on with these my message is two fold.

One, be careful when you purchase things because it could pile on burdens. Example of one I am going through. I purchased a vehicle on E-bay and paid for it and brought it home. I found out the speedometer was broken and called the car dealer who did the paper work on the vehicle, he picked up the vehicle and retuned all of my money. Sounds good so far. The next day he filed with ebay that I did not pay him. Yes, I have all the records receipts but it is the burden now that I have to prove this or get a bad name. I will seek out some friends who deal with ebay to get a phone number and of course I am praying for God to help me with this one.

Two... Be sure that we are not the ones putting burdens on others, and if we have, we need to do something to correct it, let's get'er done...

Dear Father in Heaven, our prayer for those listed are laid in Your arms today for Your will to be done. Thanks for watching over those who travel and bringing them home safe. Lord, thanks for taking care of our burdens and we pray today that we will not cause burdens to others. Lord, thanks for this day, may we live it for You. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
