March 3, 2010 Worries and Burdens

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Wednesday, SALVATION WEDNESDAY on this line, and brothers and sisters, this is the day when we need to be praying for the unsaved and for our own sorry souls. And ye,s even though we are saved through the Grace of God, we still need to keep in touch with Him and we need to pray for our sins to be forgiven. So today let's just go to prayer first and get rid of the sins, and then let's all try and repent of them and live for Him. Ready...

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for this day that You have given to us. Lord, we do not know if we will even make the end of the day, so we ask right now if You would forgive us of our sins and clean us up from our past sins and mistakes. Bring forth in our minds anyone we have sinned against and help us to clear the slate. Then, Lord, lead us to others who need to know more about You, help us to seek out the lost and tell them about Your love so that they also might come unto You to be saved. Help us to remember that we are workers of Yours and we indeed cannot save anyone, just bring in the lost. Help us this day to live it for You. In the name of Jesus I asked these things... and Lord, please today heal the hurting, and carry our burdens for us this day... Amen.

March 3, 2010 Worries and Burdens - 2: Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light". (NIV) Words of Jesus

Once again we tackle worries and burdens, and folks, all of us have them. We have talked about family members and how some have had their share of problems, and the truth is regardless if I heard from you or not, we all have those burdens of family if indeed we have a family. Even in church families there is unrest, for Satan really likes to get into churches and stir the pot, so to speak.

Another problem for a lot of families, and I mean a lot of families, is money troubles. First, let's look at those who have had good jobs, and all of a sudden they are gone. I mean even the dollars that are sent to you that we call unemployment are not the same as the check we received while working. Most often the family has geared their life style to the dollars they were earning and all of a sudden it is gone. What a heavy burden. And folks, most all of us have at one time or another had this happen. I am telling you, and that this is one heavy burden and once again I tell you that Jesus wants to help you with this one also. What, you are telling us that Jesus will help us pay our bills? Yes, I am telling you just that. Those words of Jesus "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" do not tell you which worries or burdens He will carry for He will help you with all of them. It does not say... "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" except don't bring me your dollar troubles for I will turn my back on you. No, in fact he tells us this...

Malachi 3:10 - "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house". Test me in this says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the flood gates of heaven and pour out so much blessings that you will not have room enough for it." (NIV)

You see, as we have those dollar problems so often we say we can't afford to give to God. No folks, we must give to God if we want His help in this. Give some from the top and watch it grow, but caution, you must do it in faith. Trust me on this, no trust God on this, His math is different than ours... it really, really is.

Now folks, that is not the only burden we can give to Him. You see once again His word tells us to just, and here are those words again, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." He does not just want the burdens, He wants to carry us. And folks, let me tell you this... and I would love to hear from you... Over our lives, over our lives what has been our biggest burdens? Is it indeed not ourselves? Have we over the years not brought most of the burdens on our own neck? Oh, we do have some troubles caused by others, but even in our health, if we look really, really deep, have we not caused some of our own health issues? And some of our other issues. Maybe it happened when we were out of touch with God. Speaking for myself, I was raised by good parents, God fearing parents, but I did my "walkabout" and then when things seemed to be at the worst, I came back on bended knees. And guess what, He took me back. And folks, He has done or will do the same for you. I am going to close with these words again:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Now share those burdens, and please, by all means share those blessings and watch them grow. You cannot out give the Lord. Tomorrow, more on the same subject. Love Ya, Pastor Dan.
