"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, national, state, local, school, etc. Our military, our police, our veterans, our firefighters, and all others who work to keep us safe and healthy. Hey, pray for your doctors today also. Please forgive me for I am behind in my getting out prayer requests that have been sent in. Thanks for your ongoing prayers for our family. Please keep praying for Matthew, we think he is going to a group home in Perry County late today, but not sure. He is now homeless and we must practice tough love. Maybe that is why God has directed me to write today on Do not worry!
Do Not Worry! Luke 12:22 - Then Jesus said to His disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, one of the hardest things, I think, that God asks us to do is to "not worry." We are to take our troubles to our Lord, cast our burdens unto Him. And this week I need to follow the instructions of God and try to not just write this but to also follow the message myself. Yes, as I have said many times I think God gives me a lot of messages directed not just for you, but right back at me.
How many of you over the years have worried and worried and worried about something you had not one bit of control over? Maybe you helped and helped and prayed and worried and even put feet on your prayers but all to no help, or just short term help. You prayed to God to take this burden from you and you did not want to worry, but you might have even gone to the Altar at your church and gave it over. Then when done praying you bend over and pick up the burdens and start to worry again. This week I would love for all to send me a short note on what burdens you would want to turn over. I need to really give the burdens about our son Matthew over to the Lord. We appreciate your prayers. Dolores told me the other night when talking about our son Matthew, who is one of six kids, that her "heart is broken". This week I am going to try and find comfort for all who are heavy burdened right now, and get together on this line and, dump the burdens to God and see if we can let Him deal with them for us. Maybe we can help each other, maybe some have ideas scriptures they find helpful. Please let me know. Dolores and I have early doctors appointments this morning, so I am going to be like most pastors, pray and run...
Dear Father in Heaven... Help us this day with our burdens, help us to really give them over to You and to not worry as Your word tells us. Lord, also please, bless our President and his family and all of our leaders, be with our veterans, some of who are but 18 years old and have lost limbs, please be with our military all over the world, and be with our police, firefighters and all those who work to keep us healthy and safe. Be with those in the earthquake areas of which we have had many lately and of which Your word also tells us about. Lord, bless the people... please bless Your people and help us to carry the load. Our plates are full and we need Your help which we ask for in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Go forth now sharing your blessings, and remember if you drive in Harrisburg Pa., stay off that cell phone... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
