"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
It is Friday, and good morning to all of you, my dear brothers and sisters. It is another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and tomorrow here at our humble home we will be handing out food to about 25 families. We are pleased, very pleased, and want to give God the glory for as we called people who stopped by for Christmas food, a lot of them told us God had been good, they have found jobs and do not need the help. While we have families calling on us all the time, we make a push at Christmas and Easter to help folks. So can we say praise the Lord for those who are getting along better now than at Christmas... But we do not stop because of this for there will always be the hungry and needy and as some find jobs and get back on their feet, others fill those shoes and need help. As we gathered and packed the other night we did notice that we are running out of some things and in the near future I will post an inventory of what we need. We are so blessed and are looking forward to tomorrow when the folks stop to pick up that food. It is always special when you can give out in the name of the Lord.
Friday, and the day we pray for all those working in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus.
The Greatest Commandment: Mark 12:30 - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (NIV)
I think there is no better time than today as we head into Palm Sunday weekend and then to our very special Holy Week winding down (but not ending) on Easter Sunday. There is no better time than today to remind all of us, including me, what the Greatest Commandment really is... Above all else we are to love our Lord God who is "Jesus" and I might remind you that as He just wants us to love Him above all others and above all things, He died for us. He did not say I want you to die for me, He did not say go and lay on the railroad tracks for me. He did not say things like this but He did say a few things, and first and foremost is we are to love Him. What about after that? So we love Jesus and we do it with all of our heart and soul and mind and strength, but what about after that?
Then Jesus said this. Mark 12:31 - "The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandments greater than these." (NIV)
Now there are many, many other things our Lord Jesus has said to us, and I will be going over them in brief next week as we head to the Last Supper, to the Gethsemane, to the Cross, and to the Tomb... a very, very busy week...
For now I am just jumping for joy, I just received a phone call from our son Keith... Oh wait till you hear this... PRAISE THE LORD... PRAISE GOD... Listen to this. Thank You Jesus...
Oh my gosh, I got to tell you this... first let's pray.
Dear Father in Heaven... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You... in Jesus name, Amen.
It happened a few years back now, our grandson Kyle was riding his motorcycle, one of those very, very fast ones. Yes, he was speeding a tad, over a hundred, when a deer jumped out and Kyle hit it. One of the antlers went through his face shield and blinded him in one eye. We did not know if Kyle was going to live at all. He was one messed up young man. But God gave him back to us and that was in October of that year. He went back to college the following January, blinded in one eye and one kidney that was done, gone, did not work, so now he had to be careful of course for he had but one eye and one Kidney left. About a week ago Kyle was having some pain and was sent to a kidney doctor to be checked... HIS DEAD KIDNEY IS ALIVE. Do you hear me, that kidney that was killed in the accident, God has restarted... will someone other than me start shouting... Praise God... Lord, how good you are...
You know we are not to brag about ourselves, but it is ok to brag about our Lord and I am going to be telling all today... Thank You Jesus! Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
