March 31, 2010 Holy Communion

"I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to Salvation Wednesday, served up in the name of Jesus with Holy Communion. Let's dig into this right away by going to God Our Father in Heaven, through Jesus, His one and only Son. An invite to come to services at The Bridges.

Maundy Thursday, 6:30 PM, Holy Communion will be served. Good Friday, 2:00 PM, Gospel Concert with Carry The Light. Easter Sunday Morning... 10:00 AM Message "He's Alive".
All services will be in the Pennsylvania Room on the second floor... and YOU are welcome.

Dear Father in Heaven, please today forgive us of our sins, we do indeed want to walk with You and we want to do it clean. Today please bless the communion elements that people bring forth for communion this day. Bless the Bread to be the Body of Jesus and the Grape Juice to be the blood. Clean us not just for this communion today but to get us ready for the day You send Jesus back for us. In the name of Jesus we pray together, knowing that we must each ask for our own self to be forgiven. Clean us, Father, in the name of Jesus I ask this... Amen.

Holy Communion and Salvation Through Jesus: Luke 22:14 - When the hour came, Jesus and His apostles reclined at the table. 15 And He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God." (NIV)

Today I want to review a few steps about our Salvation through our Lord Jesus, with the steps that must be taken by us as individuals. I want to of course not just tell you about it, I want to back it up with scriptures. First of all, why did God send His One and only Son to do this for us?

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. 18 Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." (NIV)

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (NIV)

Romans 10: 9/10 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth you confess and are saved. (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus took our sins with Him to the cross, not one sin or a few sins but all of them, if we just confess our love over to Him we can get rid of our sins and get ready to face Jesus. We also, folks, must repent, we must repent. Do you remember these passages from our Bible...

Matthew 3:3 - "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him'". (NIV) That was John The Baptist.

Matthew 4:17 - From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." (NIV)

Then, folks, we must go to work for our Lord Jesus. We cannot work our way into heaven, but faith without the works is dead... See Ephesians 2:1/10.

Are we ready now for online communion? Tomorrow we will be going to Gethsemane with Jesus and on Friday we are going to the cross... and yes, there will be a Easter Sunday Morning message.

Are you ready now with your bread and juice, or wine if you choose? We will use the service from Luke...

Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying. "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)

Please take now your bread which is the body of Jesus, and break it apart and join me... This is the body of our Lord Jesus and, my dear brothers and sisters, it is broken for us, you and me... take and eat now...

Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." (NIV)

Now take your juice/wine which is the blood of Jesus, which was given up by Jesus while He was on the cross... Brothers and sisters, this blood of our Lord is still flowing today... Take now and drink, for this is the blood of Jesus, the blood of the New Covenant, it is shed for us, you and me...

Still pouring out today... for that let's look at one last scripture today...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (NIV)

And all God's people said... AMEN.

Are you taking this communion in your office, why not share it with someone? Is there a better blessing to share than the body and blood of Jesus? Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 30, 2010 Behind your back

Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.

Good Schools day Tuesday, my dear brothers and sisters, and boy do our schools and all who enter the doors need our prayers. I am sure you have heard the news where kids in a middle school were picking on and stalking a new girl and got her so upset with lies and texting and phone calls till she hung herself. How sad. Also please, please, pray for our country and for this Holy week. I just heard on the news this day that one town is trying to outlaw "Good Friday". That, folks, is nothing new, just check the school calendars and you will find what once was called Easter break is now spring break. Do you know what I think, I think people are scared of Jesus and we who follow Him. Do you want to really scare a non-believer? Put your arm around them and pray for them!

Please remember, online communion tomorrow... I will get up early and get this out so you might have it before your work day or school day begins.

Behind your back! Luke 22:3 - Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. 4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. 5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money. 6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present. (NIV)

Have you ever worked at a place where you did this great job and found out that others who were friends to your face were really trying to either get you fired or get you in trouble? Folks, this happens over and over on the work place and even in our schools. It seems to me that "back stabbing" might be working everyplace we might go, even in some churches. I know that when I was working at the school and in charge of Transportation for that school district someone would always be at my back. There came a term I would hear often, it was lonely at the top. If you are in a job where you work with customers and you go far beyond what needs done you will find that the "slackers", those who do little, as in just enough to get by, will try and take you down. If you are in sales and are selling good, others will soon hate you and say you are taking their customers. And it goes on and on and on. Along the lines you will even find "bosses" who get involved for they like people to run to them about what is going on in the office.

I brought this up today to let all of you who have had these kinds of things happen, to tell you to keep your faith for you are in good company. Please, please, take the lead of Jesus who had this same thing happen to Him and just keep on your mission. Think of it, Jesus had this inner circle of Twelve who traveled with Him, His disciples, and out of the twelve one of them sold Him out, yes, really sold Him out, for money. Now our Bible tells us that Satan entered Judas and of course when Satan gets on board with you and you with Satan only bad things can happen. But with people, we cannot always blame Satan, for you have heard me say we give that king of evil too much credit.

Folks, if people are cutting you in the back, first, as always, try to work it out, be really, really nice to those others, knowing that is what Jesus would do. If that does not work, then just keep on being in touch with God and work as Jesus would. Do not talk about the ones backstabbing you, do not put them down, just go on with your tasks and remember to never do it to someone else.

You know, it is easy when working with others to get caught up in the trash talking and gossip, please don't get drawn into it. Do not be a Judas, now or ever, and if you ever did, do all you can to correct it... Amen.

Dear Lord, may we learn this day to walk with You and learn from how Judas turned on You to know that these things happen, may we learn a lesson from it, to never turn on others and may we follow Your lead and the lead of those who stay faithful to You. Bless our schools this day, dear Lord, and all who work with them and enter them. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings that only can come from God, for He is the supplier of all of our blessings. Be kind to others, do good to others, and remember communion tomorrow. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 29, 2010 Vine and Branches

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the Gardener."

Good Monday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Holy week and today, the day we pray for our leaders and all of those who work to keep us free and safe... Our veterans, our military, our police, firefighters, EMTs, Heath Care workers, and today I want to add a few more... Pray for those who work at retirement homes and nursing homes. Prayers also today for Alan, Alan is in the Pocono Hospital and has had a stroke. In the past he has had four heart attacks. Also today please take time to pray for our Jewish brothers and sisters as they celebrate Passover.

This week we are going to be walking with Jesus to the cross, to the grave and then celebrate as He is risen. On Wednesday I will be working with the last supper, and then Thursday going to the garden with Jesus to pray. Wednesday, which is Salvation Wednesday, we are going to have that last supper, meaning we will have communion on the line. I don't know how many of you really celebrate this with me online, but folks, please, please try and do it this week. I am telling you it will be special. If you read at home and your family is at home, have communion with them.

Vine and Branches: John 15:1 - "I am the true vine and my Father is the Gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." (NIV)

This past week Dolores and I purchased Palms so that we could give Palm Branches out to those coming to church on Sunday at The Bridges. We ordered a lot of them and this past Thursday two of our granddaughters got them ready by trimming them from the main branches that had already been cut from the tree. When I picked them up at the florist they were in a big cooler to help keep them fresh. Even before our church service you could see how they were drying up because they were no longer attached to the tree... I also purchase cut flowers for Dolores often (ain't I good?), I bring them home, cut them down and put them in water with stuff they give to keep them fresh. Still they wither and die because they are cut from the plant...

Folks, we are the same way, if we become detached from Jesus we are going to wither up and just die. I am talking about your soul dying and when your soul starts to die, what do you have left? A brain and body that wants to work on its own. I have tried that, I have tried walking without Jesus and it was not easy, although I thought it was then. But since I found Jesus, and truly walk with Him, that got better. I did not say it was easy, folks, because we still have trouble, but we are attached and we have a Lord and Savior who will help us each step of the way. Folks, if anyone is going to cut you off from the Lord, guess who it will be? A gardener cut off the palms, a florist cut those flowers, but who cuts us off from the Lord? Who cuts us off from that True Vine? Brothers and sisters, if you said Satan you are wrong, really and truly wrong. Oh, he will come after you, he will try and get you away for Jesus, but the one and only one who will prune you away from Jesus is none other than YOURSELF. Freedom of choice... Picture yourself as Howdy Doody, that puppet from our youth... He had strings attached and the puppet master would pull those strings. If the puppet master would cut the strings, Howdy would fall. But God did not make us to be puppets, no strings attached to us, He gave us free will, but He also gave us a way to stay attached. He gave us Jesus, He gave us His Word... He gave us all we need... We just need to take it. If Howdy Doody were to get scissors and reach up and cut the lines he would fall, he would not work. Folks, God did not have strings on us, just His word, and if we reach up and cut from Him we will also fall and fail.

Folks, all of this is in The Book, The Book we call The Bible. Let's get really attached this week as we walk nearer and nearer to God and try to understand just why this man named Jesus died for us.

Let's go to Him now in prayer... Lord, let us walk with Thee. Hold us tight as we struggle each day in our walk here on earth. Thanks for keeping us afloat and helping to hold us up. We know if we become detached we will surely fail. Lord, we have faith in You and ask in Faith that You would look over our long prayer list and answer it according to Your will. We thank You this day for all things and pray in the name of Jesus... Amen.

Now go forth and share those blessings our Lord has bestowed on You. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you," That is another blessing from God... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 26, 2010 Greatest Commandment

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."

It is Friday, and good morning to all of you, my dear brothers and sisters. It is another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and tomorrow here at our humble home we will be handing out food to about 25 families. We are pleased, very pleased, and want to give God the glory for as we called people who stopped by for Christmas food, a lot of them told us God had been good, they have found jobs and do not need the help. While we have families calling on us all the time, we make a push at Christmas and Easter to help folks. So can we say praise the Lord for those who are getting along better now than at Christmas... But we do not stop because of this for there will always be the hungry and needy and as some find jobs and get back on their feet, others fill those shoes and need help. As we gathered and packed the other night we did notice that we are running out of some things and in the near future I will post an inventory of what we need. We are so blessed and are looking forward to tomorrow when the folks stop to pick up that food. It is always special when you can give out in the name of the Lord.

Friday, and the day we pray for all those working in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus.

The Greatest Commandment: Mark 12:30 - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (NIV)

I think there is no better time than today as we head into Palm Sunday weekend and then to our very special Holy Week winding down (but not ending) on Easter Sunday. There is no better time than today to remind all of us, including me, what the Greatest Commandment really is... Above all else we are to love our Lord God who is "Jesus" and I might remind you that as He just wants us to love Him above all others and above all things, He died for us. He did not say I want you to die for me, He did not say go and lay on the railroad tracks for me. He did not say things like this but He did say a few things, and first and foremost is we are to love Him. What about after that? So we love Jesus and we do it with all of our heart and soul and mind and strength, but what about after that?

Then Jesus said this. Mark 12:31 - "The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandments greater than these." (NIV)

Now there are many, many other things our Lord Jesus has said to us, and I will be going over them in brief next week as we head to the Last Supper, to the Gethsemane, to the Cross, and to the Tomb... a very, very busy week...

For now I am just jumping for joy, I just received a phone call from our son Keith... Oh wait till you hear this... PRAISE THE LORD... PRAISE GOD... Listen to this. Thank You Jesus...

Oh my gosh, I got to tell you this... first let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You... in Jesus name, Amen.

It happened a few years back now, our grandson Kyle was riding his motorcycle, one of those very, very fast ones. Yes, he was speeding a tad, over a hundred, when a deer jumped out and Kyle hit it. One of the antlers went through his face shield and blinded him in one eye. We did not know if Kyle was going to live at all. He was one messed up young man. But God gave him back to us and that was in October of that year. He went back to college the following January, blinded in one eye and one kidney that was done, gone, did not work, so now he had to be careful of course for he had but one eye and one Kidney left. About a week ago Kyle was having some pain and was sent to a kidney doctor to be checked... HIS DEAD KIDNEY IS ALIVE. Do you hear me, that kidney that was killed in the accident, God has restarted... will someone other than me start shouting... Praise God... Lord, how good you are...

You know we are not to brag about ourselves, but it is ok to brag about our Lord and I am going to be telling all today... Thank You Jesus! Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 25, 2010 Jesus gets upset

"My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes, I am going to say it again... What a beautiful Morning, as the sun is coming up, bright enough to need those sunglasses this morning if driving toward the East. Welcome to Family Day on the line and the day we pray for families and please remember to pray for the family of God and your church family.

Praise reports again in from Sharon and Pam who both had surgery two days ago. Also today, prayers needed for Vicki who still has ongoing health issues. Please pray also for Janet Wotring's back. Pray God heals her and no surgery is needed.

Jesus Gets Upset! Matthew 21:12 - Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 "It is written," He said to them, "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a "den of robbers". 14 The blind and the lame came to Him at the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things He did and the children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant. 16 Do you hear what these children are saying? they asked Him. "Yes" replied Jesus. "have you never read, 'from the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise'?" (NIV)

John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. (NIV)

A couple points in this message today:
First for all those who think that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ never gets upset. The truth is He did get upset and I would think He gets mighty upset with US today. I have heard people say we have an ALL loving God and all of us will go to heaven regardless of how we live our lives here on earth. WRONG... While God is all loving, He still gets upset and today's scripture from Matthew just shows that as He cleared the temple of those wrongdoers who had set up, well set up a flea market type thing in the temple. Now I know this might upset some folks, but I must wonder in my mind if He gets upset when we raise money for our churches by gambling and using the holy areas of the church for other things other than worship. However, I think that Jesus would get more upset, much more upset, when a pastor walks to the front of the area, and teaches things that are not true. Or when Pastors go to the front of the church and do a wedding service between two men or two women.

So you think God does not get upset, well I put down the scripture from John to show you that the God of creation and our Lord Jesus are one and the same. AMEN. Now we remember the Ark, right? And that big flood that cleaned up the earth of trashy people. We also remember Sodom and Gomorrah right? Here is a reminder of the day God got upset in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Genesis 19:24 - Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 Thus He overthrew those cities and the entire plain INCLUDING ALL THOSE LIVING IN THE CITIES and also the vegetation in the land. 26 But Lot's wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt. (NIV)

Yes, brothers and sisters, we do have an all loving God who right now will forgive you before it is too late, but the warnings have been placed upon us, if we do not come to Him, He will not honor us by letting us into heaven when we are finished on earth, or, or, or when He is FINISHED WITH EARTH.

Second point for today... Did you notice how Jesus loved those little children who were giving praise to Him, and when the Chief Priests and the makers of the law saw this they got upset? Could that mean our President and the lawmakers in Washington today? For they sure get upset when we call out the name of Jesus.

Now folks, all of you who are working in those work places where people get mad or upset when you do your job right, when you are nice to customers and even the boss. Those people talk behind your back and do things to try and bring you down. You are in good company, you are in wonderful company for this is just what people did to our Lord Jesus. So folks, if people are driving nails in you on the work site or at other places you go because you want to do things right, go ahead and take it, for Jesus, and yes it is ok to get upset from time to time. Lessons from Jesus, taking a nail for him is ok, and when things go too far and you see people hurting our Lord or others, it is time to get upset a tad like Jesus did. But when it comes to destroying things and others, let that part up to God, please. For in the end, Jesus, and only Jesus, will work it all out. So let's get tight with Jesus and not the world... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive us, for me, of my sins this day, oh Lord. Help me to walk that straight and narrow path that leads to You, and help me not be one who is part of the den of robbers and not one of those working for evil but one who is always working for You. Lord, help Vicki this day as she needs eyeglasses and does not have the money to get them. Lord, bless families this day, bless the family of Yours, the family of God and help us to keep our eyes upon You and only You. Bless each and every family that reads this line and Lord bless them well. Thanks for your healing hand on those we have ask for that healing in our prayers. Lord, help me get ready for another funeral service. In the name of Jesus, I pray Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, and folks, this is family day, why not share one of your blessings with a family member? Sometimes you can do it with just a phone call, or some food. Share your blessings with your extended family, a neighbor. Do something good for someone else. Don't just think of sharing your blessings as giving of money. Help a senior neighbor clean their yard this spring. Or like some friends of mine did a few years ago, they came and cleaned out our shed. Folks, just get out and share God's love, and enjoy seeing the earth coming to life after being covered for the winter. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 24, 2010 an extra

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name."

Salvation Wednesday, and today I want you to pray and pray and pray for salvation for our leaders in Washington and all others who seem lately to want to trash the Lord or use those other curse words. Today as I ask you to pray for Salvation I ask you to direct your prayers to the Lord and upon our Vice President Joseph Biden who yesterday dropped that nasty, nasty F word with an open mike for all to hear. And as I ask you to pray for him, I AM CALLING ON HIM TO STEP DOWN from the second to the highest office in the land.

I said this was going to be an extra. I don't know about you but I am tired of it, sick and tired of it, all the trash talk and the trash mouth coming from those who our children are to look up to.
Did we ever hear of Abe Lincoln using such words? Our leaders, our heroes of sports, movie people, gosh it is all over the place... I can remember as a kid if I said "Darn It" in the wrong tone of voice I ate soap, and yes that is spelled right, it is soap, not soup. Folks, a few years back, maybe ten years by now, I went to a football game at Central Dauphin football field. I was near the cheering section and if I heard that word that our VP used yesterday once, I heard it a hundred times... Teachers in the area said nothing.

Folks, it is time that we have just one Hero in our lives, just one, do not look to man or woman, look only to JESUS... can someone please please shout Amen...

It is bad enough that those who have the power over this country and the state and even the local boards are breaking the bank, and the backs of those who really work and give, but must they always trash talk? I am sick and tired of people, a few people trying to take "In God We Trust" off of things. But folks, PUT THE "IN GOD WE TRUST" IN YOUR HEART AND NO ONE, I SAID NO ONE, BUT YOU CAN TAKE IT AWAY. I am tired of people fighting over if tax payers should pay for abortions. How about we just STOP THOSE ABORTIONS? Brothers and sisters, we are not going to change things by calling others names, so don't do it. Don't curse or use those other nasty words or the substitute words for those nasty words. Folks, if you go to those rallies that support our troops and we should, or to a tea party rally, or the 9/12 rally coming up, why not make signs that say this...

I LOVE JESUS!! And "In God I Trust" Not "In God We Trust" but "In God I trust". Let's make it very, very personal.

Remember, as I call for our Vice President to step down for his nasty mouth, I am calling on all of you to pray for salvation for all the unsaved that lead this country and lead our states and our local and school governments... Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray today for this Nation, and I give thanks for the United States, but Father, I am tired of it being trashed, trashed by trash over the roads, and tired of the trash talk. Lord, as I invite You to come back, help us get to work leading people to Your feet. Help us to make it personal, and instead of worrying about In God We Trust being on walls or on money, let us place that slogan on and in our hearts and really, really mean it. Lord, In You I trust this day... and pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Go forth and share your blessings... And I will try and get back on point tomorrow, but folks, this is what God planted on my mind today... In God I Trust. Will you say and believe that with me today and for always... Make it personal... IN GOD "I" TRUST. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 23, 2010 The Ride In

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. You should see the view from my window this morning. (It will look better after I wash the windows in a few days). Anyway, the sun is coming up really neat this morning. The sky looks so pretty as it lightens in the East. Someday we will see it get really bright in the East as we hear Trumpet Music in the background. While we watch for that day the Lord returns, we shall keep working for Him.

Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord.. Both Sharon's and Pam's surgeries went well yesterday and the healing is now underway from the surgery. Please today keep praying for Ron that his cancer is taken from him, and also for Allison that her cancer is taken from her. Also please pray for Pastor Charles Idler as it seems he has had a setback. Also pray for his wife Katherine as she really and truly stands by her man. She is very tired. Pray for Dolores and I today that we get chances to witness as we head out, believe it or not, in the Santa gear for a promo with the Car, Truck and Bus Museum at Hershey Pa, and for Allenberry Playhouse. Both very, very good supporters of Carry The Light Ministries food pantry. Also remember it is Schools day. Hold it, wow, that sun just jumped up over the tree tops and turned that beautiful bright sky into a real beauty even prettier than before. God never stops amazing me. Drivers in our area heading East, take those sunglasses. Ok, back to school's day, and the day we pray for all of our schools and all who enter them.

The Ride In: Matthew 21:6 - The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord." "Hosanna in the highest!" 10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?" 11 The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee." (NIV)

Ok, according to what I can find in the Bible this is the second time the Lord rode on the donkey. This is one of the reasons I have called it the Lord's animal. Of course all animals are the Lord's as He made them. As we are children of God, so your pets are animals of God. And folks, as a side note, we need to treat them just like that. The first time, come on you know this... It was when Jesus was in the womb of Mary and they were riding to that town of Bethlehem were Jesus was born..

Today we see Jesus being welcomed into town, the crowds were cheering and cheering and shouting. "Hosanna in the highest" and the shouting went on and the praises went on and on..
Then things turned, and we will talk about it more this week. I want you to look at this in today's times for just a minute... A young pitcher walks in from the "bull pen" game after game, and he saves many a game, in fact he saves more than other pitchers, the team works its way to the top and gets into the playoffs where the pitcher saves more games. This young man comes in most every day. Then comes the world series and on the final game he is called in again. This time he loses and the team boos him out of town. The team traded him away. Amazing how we forget all the good things someone does and then one bad thing happens and the people turn on them...

Now I am not really comparing Pitcher Williams of that Philly's team to Jesus, but some of the events seem the same... The hero welcome, how He, Jesus, had healed the sick, how he had fed thousands with just five loaves of bread and two fishes. How He made the blind see and how He had even raised up the dead to mention just a few things.. And then some of those same people turned on Him, even one from the "inner circle" (my words). So today we rejoice and praise Jesus, and please, please, follow all week as we rejoice with Jesus and cover some of the things he did. Then next week we see the events turn...

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to join in the praise, we want to give You honor and glory and we pray that our praises and the honor and glory we give You will always be with You rock solid. I know, Lord, I have slipped and fell before, but I want to stay solid now. I do not want to drift and I am sure there are others on this line who feel the same. Lord, forgive us of our sins and help keep us rejoicing... Hosanna, Hosanna to You my Lord. Thanks for taking care of Sharon and Pam. And Lord, please, please take the cancers from Ron and from Allison and also heal Pastor Charles so he might preach again. Lord, bless our schools and all who enter them. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings... must run, see ya. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 22, 2010 God's Animal

"Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me."

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. This week I will be doing messages as God gives them to me, and I am praying for them to lead me into Palm Sunday. As I look out my window this morning the sun is covered by the clouds, however the Son is in my heart as always. I was with my singing partner at the hospital early this morning and am now back at the keyboard. Monday, and the day we pray for our leaders, and folks, after what I saw yesterday in Washington, THEY NEED OUR PRAYERS REALLY BADLY. This is also the day we pray for our military, and all others like our police and firefighters who work to keep us healthy and safe. By the way, this new health care is not going to keep us healthy and safe it is going to bankrupt the country. I will get into trouble for this statement but from the bottom of my heart I think we now have too many people riding in the wagon and too few pulling it. Prayers today for Pam Bower and for Sharon Saylor, both are having surgery today.

God's Animal: Matthew 21:1 - As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethpage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2 Say to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me." 3 "If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away." (NIV)

Gosh, as I read this it almost sounds like our Lord Jesus is sending two disciples out to steal a donkey, but we know different . According to the Bible I can only find two places where the Lord rode on an animal, and both times it was a donkey. Who can tell me what the two times were? I will give my opinion on the two times tomorrow.

God's Animal. First of all let me say, like we all are children of God, all animals also come from God, but the donkey is very special, so special that God has placed a cross on their back. Please take time to look at a donkey, maybe on a farm, or at a petting zoo. I would love to have a miniature donkey in our back yard as a pet just to use it to witness for our Lord. If you see a donkey and it is a dark colored donkey look for a light strip from the back of the neck to the base of the tail and then over the front shoulders, forming that cross. How many times did Jesus ride the donkey, come back tomorrow as we take a ride with Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for caring about us and thanks for caring about our animals also. You are indeed worthy of our Praise each day, so often we forget. Thank you, Jesus, for all you do for all of us. Thank You, Jesus, for hearing and answering our prayers. Lord, we pray again today for our leaders and ask You to intercede upon them and straighten them out. Lord, protect our military regardless of where they are this day, and protect our police and firefighters and all others who work to keep us safe and free. Please watch over Sharon and Pam as they have surgery this day and let the healing begin even before the doctor lays a knife on them. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, and share those blessings, and folks, we are so blessed we have so many to share...
So share and pray, and pray and share and work for God in all you do... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

PS. Carry The Light Ministries has applied to be incorporated and to have 501C3 status, and it looks good. It is costly to do this, but should help a lot with us getting more and more food for the food pantry as that part of our ministry grows. We are looking for a trailer (enclosed), used, and even heavily used is ok as we can rebuild one. Also we might need to expand out of our basement.

Please pray for our ministries... We are in our 17th year of singing the gospel, we are since 1982 doing Santa, and 12 years at Allenberry Playhouse which in part is one of the reasons we opened the food pantry. We are also in our sixth year at the Bridges as pastors and this is the fourth year with our own food pantry. Is God good to us, yes, we are really blessed... we need your prayers. Oh and I keep forgetting how we adopt those senior unwanted little dogs... We have eleven right now.

March 19, 2010: Children 5

You shall not murder!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Wow, what a great morning, the sun is coming right in my window as I look out, reminding me that I need to clean the windows. Time to get started on our once a decade spring cleaning. Speaking of which, this is the last full day of winter... PRAISE GOD FOR THAT. Daylight hours are getting longer. Today is Friday and the day we pray for all of our workers in the Fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. Who should be there? Mark 16:15 - He said to them (us) "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

Children 5: Exodus 20:13 - "You shall not murder." (NIV) Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart." (NIV) Luke 1:44 - As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. (NIV)

You had to know this was coming, the day I talk about our children that were MURDERED before they were born. Future Homemakers, Marines, Sailors, Air Force Pilots, Foot Soldiers, Farmers, maybe even a President or two... Taxpayers, Bus Drivers, Cleaning People, you name the job and we are losing people who might just go into those fields. How about just a couple more, Inventers, oh and here is the very best one, we are killing off CHILDREN OF GOD. Well over one million of God's children were aborted in AMERICA, last year. I heard one of the women politicians say just last week on National News (Fox) that she wanted the government (that would be us who pay taxes) to foot the bill for abortions. She said it like this. "If the law says a woman has a right to have an abortion, then the government health should pay for it for her." Excuse me, I have a right to purchase a car to get back and forth to work. I like Caddies (I buy them well used) but just because I have a right to purchase the car of my choice, I do not have the right, nor do I expect that taxpayers should pay for it for me.

But let's forget today about if the cost of the abortion will be in the new health care push or not, we need to stop the murder of our unborn children. How can we have it both ways in America? Listen to this... It is ok for a woman to go to a doctor who then along with his staff of nurses and aides in some operating room a baby will be murdered. If the abortion is messed up and the child survives they are placed in a dark room to lay there and die. But if that same woman who was heading to the abortion clinic to have the abortion was involved in an accident, say hit by a drunk driver, that drunk driver would be charged with TWO counts of murder. I put the scripture out the other day about children and I think it is worthy of another look...

Matthew 18:5 - And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. (NIV)

So you tell me folks, how can someone, anyone, who murders our children be one who would welcome them? So then how could anyone who murders our children enter into the Kingdom of God and Heaven? Only one way folks, give up this murder of children, turn to God and through Jesus be forgiven. Today, folks, we need to pray for these people and we need to pray for those in Washington to change our laws. When I look in the yellow pages in the phone book and see the very first ads being for abortion, I think, is this America? What next, hit man for hire? What is the difference, folks? How do these medical people sleep at night? Getting rich on murder that is legal in man's laws does not make it right before God, and don't you ever forget that. STOP ABORTION NOW. Let's seek out and vote for people who support life. Let's get back to God and start loving all children, all of God's children, EVEN THE UNBORN. Where are their rights, the right to live, to be born? Will someone please tell me that, will the lady politician who thinks a woman has a right to a paid abortion by we taxpayers who do not believe in abortion, please tell me what happened to that child's rights?

I think all of you know that when I get started on this subject my blood pressure goes up... Go ahead, you have my permission to forward this one to your congressmen or congresswoman and you can attach my name right to the bottom and you can in my name say if they support laws for abortion their hands are not clean of this murder either... AMEN.

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray we can soon put a stop to killing your children, Lord help us with this. And Lord, protect those who work in Your fields of Harvest. And Lord, please reduce my blood pressure. In Jesus name, Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings with others... pray for me today as I head out to pastor at a funeral. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 18, 2010 Children 4

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. The sun is out and not a cloud in the sky. Today is Thursday and that means it is family day on the line. So please pray for families, remember to pray for my family as I pray for yours, and remember to pray for the family of God. And folks, one family that might just need prayers more than any other, your church family. If there is one family that the old devil wants to divide it would be those church families. Also remember to pray for the family that resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC.

Children 4: Ephesians 6:1 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother" which is the first commandment with a promise." (NIV)

A commandment with a promise, yes of course! Do you know what that promise is? Well let's go back and look it up.

Exodus 20:12 - "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (NIV)

You know as we talk about children this week and how our Lord Jesus looks at children and the fact that we, once we come to Jesus, we are indeed His children in good standing, before we come to Jesus, well, we are still children of God, but not in good standing, so to speak. As we talk about honoring our father and mother, we see that indeed there is a promise by God that if we do just that we will live long in this land. In the book of Ephesians it tells us this is the first commandment with a promise. But I found another command with a promise... and it is this.

Exodus 20:8 - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name. (NIV)

That is also a promise... In short, we are to love God and if we indeed truly love God, we will not misuse His name. And to tell you the truth when I hear people misusing the name of our Lord, it cuts into me like a knife. Folks, does it bother you when you hear others cursing? I forget where we were just recently and there were folks all around, there were several young men standing and talking and it was F this and JC that and it was just part of their talk. Freedom of speech... I think not, for folks, we might think we have freedom of speech when saying these things but we indeed are going to pay for it when we come face to face with Jesus. The Lord will not hold ANYONE guiltless who misuses His name. Folks, if we get that mad at someone why would we use the Lord's name against them? Why not use it for them, and just start praying for them and of course for those who are the ones who are mad enough to do this?

Let me get back to children again... Again I tell you that Dolores and I are blessed by our children for we hear from them often. Good news or bad, we hear from them. How are you guys doing? Are you ok... At least once a week and most often more than that. We get the call... Folks, if you have parents, check in with them, I don't care if it is a long distance call or not, call them. Talk to them. And brothers and sisters, if you have parents in a retirement or nursing home go and see them. I know people, some who are very near and dear to me, as in extended family who go to visit a parent who might be to the point they do not even remember them. Folks, if you have a parent go and visit them. More than on Christmas... stop in and see them.

Children, I guess this message is mostly for you today as I tell you once more in the name of our Lord God... "Honor your father and mother." Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, some of us, well, our parents are long gone from this earth, and still there is not a day goes past that most of us don't think about them. So Lord, today please help those who still have parents on this earth to call them, to visit them while they still have them. Bless Your children this day, as you promised to do, honor those who honor their father and mother. And Lord, bless families this day... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing the blessings our Lord has blessed upon you. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

St. Patrick's Day 2010 Children 3

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, my dear brothers and sisters. It is said that on St. Patrick's Day we all have Irish in our blood. Just so you know I have Irish furniture on the patio. Yes, it is Pati O Furniture. So much for a tired old joke. Now let me talk about Salvation O Wednesday. Yes, it is Wednesday and a beauty at that. The Son is in my heart and the sun is bright in the cloudless sky. Could you want anything better today? Yes, just to work for Jesus, that's all. Pray today for the unsaved and that God will use you in the Harvest to help bring in the lost.

Children 3: 1 John 3:1 - How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!! The reason the world does not know us is they did not know Him. (NIV)

Did you ever think that people really don't know who you are? Maybe you work and have worked alongside of a person for years and years and yet to them you are like a deep mystery. Once we are born again and have taken Jesus into our lives, into our house and made it a home, and most of all into our own body, we change. If you have been working alongside of these same people, they might have noticed you have changed but do not understand why. When a person is overweight and starts to lose weight, people in your office will take notice after a while and see what you are doing. But when you go from maybe just an average "Joe" or "Josephine" to becoming a follower of Jesus, you will make a really big change and people will notice it but might not understand why you are doing this. You might go from one who would go to the break room and get into the gab sessions about others and then you just stop doing that. You go to that room and get your coffee and take it to your desk. People see you at your break reading "Our Daily Bread" or something like that and those things you were reading have been replaced with a Bible. People might start thinking, oh, they have really gotten stuck up, when the fact is you just don't want to hear the trash mouth and the gossip that goes on in those break rooms. You have changed from wanting to hear and remember those off color jokes to not wanting to hear them at all. Why do I know these things? Well you might say that I have been there and done that. Don't get me wrong, after coming to Christ and growing in His love we still like to hear jokes and funny stories, we just want them to be clean. No Lord's name being used, not jokes using the N word or any other words that reflect upon others. The real truth is that when those words are used in jokes or talking about others, it really reflects badly on the ones using them.

Let's look at the scripture again... 1 John 3:1 - How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!! The reason the world does not know us is they did not know Him. (NIV)

We change and those around us (the world) do not know and understand us; they do not know or understand who Jesus really is. So if we want those around us to really now know us and understand us, we must, well, we must really work hard to teach them about Jesus. We must tell them the good news. Also, once we stake our claim on being a follower of Jesus, we must really work hard to do just that for when we mess up, and we will from time to time, it does reflect badly on Jesus. If we claim to love Jesus yet keep in that circle of friends talking about each other and back stabbing others you will soon hear people say things like this. If that is what it is like to be a "Christian" I don't want to be one. Jesus is our Lord and Savior and we need to live for Him each day.

I have started using a saying that you may quote me on or just use it on your own... Here it is.
"God gave me this day and I want to give it back to Him by living a life that is pleasing to Him."
Parents, would not the best gift your children could give you be to live to please God and that would also please you? If your children are all grown and out of the house (Praise the Lord) do you not like to hear from them daily? God wants to hear also from His children. Why not we start this day right now by checking in with God the Father through Jesus His Son and asking Him to forgive us and to teach us to walk daily in His footsteps? Let's go if you are ready...

Dear Father in Heaven, I am Your child and I am checking in, I messed up some yesterday and the days before and I am asking that You forgive me. I could tell you how I messed up but Father You already know. So Lord please forgive me... And Father, I come to You through Jesus who died to save me. Amen.

Now folks, go forward this day, check in with God and call your kids, or kids call your parents. I am blessed. Almost daily we hear from some of our six kids. Sometimes it is great news they want to share, other times it is not good, but most often it is just to check in. Dolores and I are so blessed. We are also blessed to be able to share our blessings... and the more we share the more we get blessed. Oh, how our Father loves His children... and I love you also. Pastor Dan.

March 16, 2010 Children 2

"And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck."

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beautiful view I have of the Eastern sky as I sit by the window typing this message. The sky this morning is just beautiful, the sun is breaking and the rain has ended. Last night at 11:45 PM I received a call from Tom that his wife Hilda had been promoted into the waiting arms of our Lord Jesus. If you recall we prayed yesterday for God to end her suffering and take her home. Thank You, Jesus. Today is schools day on this line, and folks, one school district that really, really needs our prayers is the Harrisburg City Schools. Last night the mayor of Harrisburg who just went into office in January had the superintendent and the assistant superintendent fired. The wages of these people who are under contract will need to be paid. Today as we talk about children again I ponder why she made such a move with just three months to go in the school year. Anyway, this is just showing me that our schools really need the one and only one who can head them all up... JESUS. So let's put Jesus on the minds, hearts and lips of our school kids and employees and take Him back to school in this fashion. Please keep praying for Ron and also Pam who have cancer. And right now I want to say Praise The Lord for I have had blood tests and my PSA is .1 and my liver, which tests show was bad, has been healed by Jesus and my latest tests... HEALED, and there was not treatment for it by man... SOMEONE SHOUT AMEN, ok, I will do it... AMEN.

Children 2 Mark 9:42 - "And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck." (NIV)

While we all have been given free will, our children depend on we adults to guide them in life.
There is hardly a day goes by that we don't see either someone arrested for child porn or someone being convicted for it. Sad to say, there are so many pastors, priests, teachers and others who work closely with children that get involved in bad stuff with children. You see in the Bible just what Jesus had to say about it and Jesus will be harder on those who lead their flocks or part of them astray.

Our children are precious, and I am not talking just about our own family members. Yes, our sons and daughters and all of our grandchildren are very precious to all of us, but I am talking about all children. Look at this verse:

Mark 9:37 - "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." (NIV)

And brothers and sisters, we must welcome all children. Do you remember this little Vacation Bible School song... "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, Red and Yellow, Black and White, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world." Folks, there is one other thing I want to point out... WE ARE ALL CHILDREN in the eyes of God, and again I remind you that we must come unto Jesus as a little child. A small child comes to Jesus in faith and without question and that is the way we need to come. So many people have questions, and a lot of them. So many people question different parts of the Bible. Brothers and sisters, again today I want to tell you that I believe in all of the Bible. From these words "In the beginning God" through and including everything in between till you reach these word "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen." That would be from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21. I do not question God, but just enjoy "going along for the ride" so to speak. Tomorrow, more on children and what about all those children, well over a million a year, that we do not let be born? Rest assured that God will fire me up on this murder of His children.

Dear Father in Heaven, help us to come to You as little children, and also Lord, help us to work to lead children to You, and yes, use the little children to lead their parents and teachers, etc., to you. Lord, help us to teach children about You so that they may take You into our schools. Open doors to the schools for Jesus, dear Father. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Now go forth, go forth sharing Jesus and sharing your other blessings and loving children all over the world regardless of the color of their skin and even their religion. For we need to teach them about Jesus, for we all know or should know that "religion does not get you into heaven, Jesus does." Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 15, 2010 Children 1

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them."

Good Monday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Ah, Monday and the day we pray for our earthly leaders, for our veterans, for our military, our police, our firefighters, river rescue, ambulance folks, and remember those ambulances that fly. Yes the day we pray for all those who look after are safety and security here on earth.

Over the last week I have been bedside with a 94 year old lady named "Hilda". We have placed her in God's hands for the journey home, she told me when she could still talk she wanted to see Jesus face to face. Please pray for this family and for Hilda that she gets to see Jesus, "Soon and very soon!"

Please keep praying for all those who have been on our prayer list, which I will try and update for all tomorrow.

Children 1: Mark 10:13 - People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16 And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them. (NIV)

This week I want to talk to you about little children, and heaven. Folks, Jesus is very clear about several things when it comes to children. Let's today look at why we must come to God like little children.

Our Salvation, given to us by Jesus when He died on the cross and then was risen from the dead, cannot be purchased. We cannot work our way in, although after we are saved we indeed must go to work for Jesus. Confusing, not in the least. Our salvation was a gift and we must receive it like a child receives a gift. Let us look at that for a minute... Most of you know that I play Santa and along with Mrs. Claus we get to see a lot of children and hand out a lot of very small gifts in advance of that big day for children. Although there are some exceptions, most younger children are very happy just receiving a gift and do not question the gift itself. A child walks up and we give them a stuffed animal, regardless if that stuffed toy is new or recycled, they hug it and if old enough to talk will say thank you. We have had a few who did not want the ones we gave them, but in the background we could see a parent or grandparent telling them to ask for a different one. A few have even put the child up to going to our storage place under the tree and exchange them when we were not looking. More on that later this week...

You see we must receive our salvation as a gift and we are not to be questioning it over and over again. It is by faith we have received this gift of salvation, a free gift of God. Are we to question God on this? NO, but some people will and others do not believe it at all. The only real question I would have is, why, Jesus, did you do this for a sinner such as me, for I am unworthy? And you see, a child does not even question that much. Also, when a small child is given a gift, have you ever known them to not want it? Saying, I don't want a gift at all. You see. brothers and sisters, a gift needs two things, first it needs a giver, and it needs a receiver, and when it comes to salvation, God the Father gave us His one and only Son Jesus who died for us and we are indeed the receiver of the gift. What good would it have been for Jesus to go to the cross, for God the Father to give up His one and only Son if there indeed was not any receivers?

A young couple gets married and on the gift table there are three toasters, and five or six can openers. Does the couple open the first toaster and then when opening the second and third set them aside or even ask for receipts to exchange them? Not if I were involved, for I would put the extra ones back for a later date. Or would the couple say to those who gave them a can opener, wow were you cheap. No, one should take the gift in the spirit it was given and honor that gift by receiving it. That is the same as our salvation, my brothers and sisters... You see, children would not question the gift. If on Christmas a child were to get a Lego set from his parents and then one from an Aunt and Uncle and a third from their grandparents, they would just use them all to build bigger things.

So in wrapping up today's message, the first in this series, children, we must come to Jesus as a child, take the gift of Salvation and not question it, just be very, very happy you have it and then go out working for Jesus... Amen.

Oh, Lord, make me like a child today so that I do not question the reason You went to the cross for us, for we know it was to save us from our own sinful way of life. Let us just receive the gift of this great Love and help us to spread the good news of this free gift. Help us to be children... In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen... And Dear Lord, please look over our prayer list and honor it by Your will being done... again, I pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Now go forth in the name of Jesus, sharing your blessings, and being like a child when it comes to this subject... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 12, 2010 The Costs 5

"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Oh, yes, it is raining, but folks, we do not have to shovel this! Praise God!!

Today is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working for our Lord in the fields of Harvest, and folks, if you are working for the Lord, you are indeed working in the fields of Harvest. You might be supporting the ministries that are on the front line, so to speak, but that support is needed and that is indeed working for the Lord. The quickest example I can find in my mind this morning is that those who support our food bank are just as important, in fact even more important than we who are on the front line giving the food out. All ministries are like this. The front line can't be done without that support from the back. In fact, our men and women on the front lines right now in two wars would have nothing there to fight with if it were not for those working the support systems.

Please also pray for Pastor Charles Idler, we have been praying for him for a time now as he had a stroke. His progress has had a bit of a setback as he has had another minor stroke. Please storm heaven asking in faith for his healing, in the name of Jesus! Amen.

The Costs 5: Revelation 22:12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me. And I will give to everyone according to what he has done." (NIV)

This week I have been talking about the costs of following Jesus, and folks, I really only touched on them. There are many, they cost you time, they cost you money and they can cost you friends and even family when you take up the cross for Jesus. But those rewards, and I really want to bring that up again as I did on Wednesday, when I brought up salvation and of course healing and the witness statement from my brother in Christ Doug Boyer, they were just a few of the blessings and rewards we receive and have received from our Lord God. Let me ask you this day, how many rewards have you received from God so far today? Come on, let me hear from you. Just today, up to when you read this, how many rewards and/or blessings (both the same thing) have you received today.

Let me tell you just a few of mine so far today... I woke up, my beautiful bride Dolores woke up. I have pain, so does Dolores, but we can push past it, and when I checked out my pain, I found no nails sticking in me... none, zip. I found all of our dogs alive and well, all eleven of them, four of which wanted to play on my bed. I went to the bathroom and my plumbing worked, as did the plumbing in the house. (Two blessings there, folks.) I got into the shower and water came out. It is raining and that is filling my well, so the rain is a blessing even on weekends. I am having my diet Pepsi for breakfast. I will eat after the message... oh, and God is giving me a message for you, and he gives it to me as I work on it. My computer is working, it is a tad slow, but then so am I. The electric is on. Now those are just a few of the blessings that I woke up to this morning. Oh, one other big one... There is a roof over my head that keeps out the rain.

Now what about the rewards for the rest of the day? Well, I could go on and on but you are getting the message, for if you are reading this you have received a lot of these same rewards and more maybe. But what is waiting for us when the Lord returns, well we are going to be working on them next week as we travel on with Jesus. I do want to put today's scripture down for you again for it is so important, you see the rewards that you receive after our life on this God given earth will be, well will be UP TO US, YOU AND ME.

Revelation 22:12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me. And I will give to everyone according to what he has done." (NIV)

Do you see those last words, "I will give to everyone according to WHAT HE HAS DONE." Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for all the rewards for working for You for they really make those costs seem so small. Lord, please bless this day, those who are working in the fields for You, be they on the front lines on working the support system. Lord, please heal those on our prayer list this day, and Lord, Your worker, Pastor Charles Idler, really needs Your healing hand. Please heal him as You did my brother Doug. Thanks for another day of blessings. I love You, Lord... and I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Now go forth serving the Lord, sharing your blessings and loving Him and all of your neighbors, and yes, by serving the Lord you are indeed working on those rewards that you will receive when we cross over to the other side. What a day that will be when our Jesus we shall see... Amen, Amen. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

PS. Carry The Light Ministries is looking for another enclosed trailer. We now have a source of getting more food at a time, and also a source to get used furniture and we have an outlet for both. If you hear of one for a really good price please let me know...

March 11, 2010 The Costs 4

"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. The sun is up and bright with big puffy white clouds in the sky. It is just beautiful!!

Today is Family day on this line and I would like you to add "grandma" to your prayer list. This is Billie Joe's grandmother, and she fell going to the mailbox and broke some bones. Don't know how many, but I am told at least some ribs and a shoulder. We also need to pray for Billie Joe's family as she takes care of both her mother who is in very bad health and her grandmother.

The Costs: John 8:3 - The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say? ----- 8:7 "Jesus said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." ----- 8:10 Jesus asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 "No one sir" she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and LEAVE YOUR LIFE OF SIN." (NIV)

Please take time to read the complete account of this found in John 8: 1/11. I did skip around but wanted to point this scripture out to all of you on this day. Why? Well, first and foremost, this is what God laid on my heart for this morning after I prayed with Dolores for the message. Well how does this really fit into the cost of walking with Jesus? So I ask this question to you today, as we look at others and often feel we should condemn some, who of us is really without sin? I would like anyone to write to me and tell me that they would want their personal closet to be opened. By your personal closet I mean your past. You know sometimes I think I would like to run for office, maybe even go to Washington to tell those folks how I feel and show them how to run this country, and run it UNDER GOD, as it should be run. But surely my closet door would be opened for those who knew me from years and years and years ago would come out running, I knew him when, and the stories would flow, some true and some stretched. So folks, maybe I should point it out the way Jesus tells it... "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." But let me put it in my words today. If any one of you has a clean closet, then cast the first stone at whom you are condemning.

If we are truly following Jesus we need to forgive those others and not bring up their past. I truly think that one of the places, or let me give you two, places that might be very hard for the stones fly almost daily, are in offices, followed by people who might work split shifts where they get together for breakfast after the morning shift or before the afternoon shift. They gather over bacon, eggs, and home fries, but the main menu is talking about others. Folks, do not gossip, which is, by the way, throwing stones. It is one of the costs of following Jesus, we must put away our stones, oh and by the way, you can stone someone more with your mouth than with a real stone. Do you know that things like this, this talking about others, casting stones, etc., has broken homes, broken families, and even divided churches? In fact, back stabbing, or stone throwing as Jesus put it, goes on all the time in some churches and in offices it goes on and on.

Ok, here comes the hard part. First of all, all of us could have been in the shoes of that woman, not maybe the same sin, but after all a sin is a sin. And don't you wonder here in this account from the Bible that the man was going to get away with his part? After all what that lady did, did require a man, did it not? But again, I challenge you this day if someone is throwing stones at you for something you did or something THEY THINK YOU DID, do NOT throw stones back. Instead take the lesson from Jesus and forgive them. You will be the bigger person and they will learn from it.

In closing the message for today, I again say it is tough walking with Jesus, there are costs. This week we are just touching on a very few of them. Tomorrow a deeper look at some of the rewards.

Oh, by the way, the story from Doug Boyer yesterday on his healing. I spent the better part of the morning with him loading food into our ministry vehicle for our food bank. You should have seen this man carrying out the boxes. GOD IS GOOD... SOME ONE PLEASE SAY AMEN, BESIDE ME.

Dear Father in Heaven, I want to walk with You today and everyday, and I ask this day that You go into offices, into work places, and that You plant on the hearts of those who need it that they should not throw stones. Lord, sometimes stones are thrown because some work harder than others to do a good job and the others get upset and cast stones. To me it is near the same thing. Bless families this day, Lord, and work sites and those there become like families. I call them work families. We, Lord, are all brothers and sisters because we are children of the King, bless us this day and teach us to lay down the stones for all of us need forgiven of our sins... please do that now, Lord, as I ask in the name of Jesus and Lord in the name of Jesus heal those on our prayer lists of today and days gone by... Thanks Lord. Thanks Lord... Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings and not throwing stones... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 10, 2010 The Cost 3

Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.

Good Afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line. The day we pray for those who are unsaved and ask God to point them out to us so that we may work to get them to come to Jesus. Now while I have been writing this week about the costs of being a disciple or just a follower of Jesus, and folks, I like to say that I am both of them. Saying you are a Christian is nice but the name Christian has really gotten a bad rap. Christian means to be Christ Like and when I hear the language that comes out of the mouth of some who call themselves Christians it makes me want to put my dinner back on the floor (barf).

The Costs: James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)

Tomorrow I will get back to some more costs and then Friday again I will hit on some rewards, but today, today, I am going to feature a note I got from my good friend Douglas Boyer who owns and operates Boyer Funeral Homes, one in Duncannon and one in New Bloomfield, both small Pennsylvania communities. Doug also is founder of Brotherhood Ministries which does a lot for our Native American Brothers and Sisters.

First and foremost our biggest reward for following Jesus and paying the costs of following Him and being a disciple for Him (and the costs that seem big are small compared to the rewards). Our biggest reward is our personal salvation through Jesus. Our being able someday to live in the mansion that is waiting for us. There we will get to walk on streets of gold, see our loved ones who knew Jesus and went before us, and see our loved ones who if they come to the Lord will be able to see us after they pass. And I will talk more about Salvation again as you know me. For when I am asked by others what kind of pastor I am, meaning United Methodist, or Church of God, or any other church, I just tell them, I am ordained in the Church of Christ, meaning to me I am a Salvation Preacher. My number one goal for Jesus is to see that people are fed, and I am not talking about the food from our food pantry, but fed the word of God so they can come to know Jesus...

We have many other rewards that we get while here on earth, one is healing, the healing from injuries and let me tell you, you know that there is not one doctor that can heal a broken bone. Oh they can set them, they can even pin them, but God and God alone does the healing of them, and God even lent the doctors their talents to work for Him. Ok, let me turn you over for the next part of the message to Douglas Boyer... In his words, just the way it came in. I did add the quotation marks...

"Hi Dan-

I hope this account of my illness will be an encouragement to all who read it. It is a testimony of God's faithfulness and mercy to me, a sinner saved by grace.

It was the 3:30 AM on the morning of November 14, 2009. Trying to get up to go to the bathroom, I was suddenly disoriented, dizzy, vomiting, double-vision and unable to stand or walk. My speech was unclear. I had had a stroke!

My wife tried to help me to the bathroom, but my body was clearly out of control as I fell to the floor and had to crawl.

We managed to get down the steps and to the hospital. My daughters work in the ER at Holy Spirit and they were expecting me. When we arrived they asked, "Can you walk?" It was then I realized that this was really a serious situation.

The ER folks, poked, prodded, ran a CAT scan, MRI and drew all my blood.
Finally the determination was made that I had a stroke. A blood clot that originated in my heart had lodged itself in my Cerebellum (that controls balance and vision) its located in the back or occipital region of the brain.

After several more days of testing I was sent to Health South for physical Therapy. To make a real long story short, God was with me continually, the prayers of the church, family and friends had stormed heaven and I was beginning to see clearly, I began to walk like I had been drinking and my speech began to become clearer. I was in Heath South for only a week and had improved enough that I was able to go home. (Praise God!)

When I was discharged they told me that I was the Poster-child for healing at Health South, and that I looked like a visitor not a patient. In early January my cardiologist closed up that hole in my heart that had harbored the blood clot.

I was always a miracle of God.....but now truly when you look at me, you are looking at a "Miracle of God!" thanks to the grace of God and his mercy.

We never know the day or hour that God will call out our name. Or whether it will be in the form of illness or death..... If today you are not sure where you would be if the Lord called on you, better get that straightened out now. Seek the Lord while he is near, call upon him and experience His mighty hand.

blessings to each of you, may the mercy and grace of God be with you all.
Doug Boyer"

Now we are back to me... Let's pray:

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for your healing hand on Doug and so many, many others and thanks for hooking him up with me back in 1984. Father, Doug has made me a wonderful brother in Christ helping me in our ministry, right down to this morning. We are thankful that you and you alone are in the healing business. Lord, we know that Your hands are on everything good and we are thankful for that. Lord, use us this day to help bring in the lost. Point them out to us and give us the knowledge and strength to get to this work for You. Father, we know that our work on earth for You will never end till we come home to You, and Lord, I for one am really thrilled about that. Lord, I love working for You and pray that others also find that love. Lord, I know there is nothing that I can do without Your help. I pray others find that also and call on You for all things. Thanks for dying for our Salvation... Thanks for dying, Jesus, so we might live... In the name of Jesus, I offer up our prayers and praise... Amen.

I would love to feature others who would like to tell me how God has worked in your life... just send it my way. Don't worry about spelling, for all of you can spell better than me... Now go forth sharing your blessings and your love of Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 9, 2010 The Cost 2

"And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. WOW, another beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole (Mechanicsburg, Pa., just outside of Harrisburg). Again this morning there is not a cloud in the sky. Today, Tuesday, is Schools Day on the line, so I ask that you pray for all schools and all who enter the doors, and also those who work for the schools and might not go through the school doors. Bus drivers come to my mind. Often we think of schools just being teachers and students, but it goes far beyond that. Let's see, those who drive the buses, clean the floors and bathrooms, cook the food, serve the food, work in the office, keep attendance, classroom attendants that look after kids, most often in the rooms of our special needs kids. We also need to remember the ones who plowed the snow, mow the fields, line the fields and those who work plumbing and heating, and I could go on and on. Oh, how about the school boards and administrators? And today pray please for Jeffery Davis who was to start working at a school today but was in a motorcycle crash last night. Jeffery has painful injuries but not life threatening. Jeffery is our grandson. Please keep praying for Baby Ally and Baby Clara and also our ministry partner, Pamela Bower, as she meets with a surgeon today about her cancer... Please also keep praying for Ronald who has cancer.

Tomorrow will be special as I have received a nice note for Douglas Boyer who had a stroke. You will need to read this... I am saving it for tomorrow since it is Salvation Wednesday.

The Cost 2: Luke 14:27 - "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." (NIV)

Luke 9:23 - Then He (Jesus) said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (NIV)

So what is Jesus really talking about here? Some might think we need to go and find some wood and build a cross like Jesus died on and we need to carry it around with us. No, that is not what it means at all. Take up our cross and follow Jesus means we must practice self-denial and complete dedication and willing obedience to Jesus (NIV foot note). So let me put it the way I think it means... We need to put Jesus ahead of all others and all other things. Does that mean we dare not have anything? No... I have seen people get upset if their pastor drove a Caddy or a Lincoln, even if they are older cars. Some people think if you are a Christian and you follow Jesus you must look poor or even be poor... No, not at all, for if you really follow Jesus and you work hard for Him and you share your blessings, He is going to pour out blessings upon you. Folks, I am a big guy, not the biggest, but if you think I am going to stuff myself into a Yugo, think again. Why should those who follow Jesus make Jesus look cheap?

What we really must do is love Jesus above all else and not let anything, anything, get between you and your Lord Jesus. An example might be for pastors who love to play golf (I never played that) and meet once a week and play, there is nothing wrong with that. They more than likely talk about Jesus while playing. Now if they are to be preaching on Sunday and we get one of those early spring days like we are having and the preacher calls off sick to play golf, that is another thing. Or if he would not give up a golf game to do a wedding or funeral. See where I am coming from? Jesus must come first. Speaking of golf, Moses, Jesus and an old man went to play golf... On the first tee Moses hit the ball and it headed right for a pond. He raised his club, divided the water and the ball went on the green. Jesus said is that the way you want to play... So Jesus teed off and His ball headed for the pond, and Jesus stretched out His arms and the ball rolled right across the water and onto the green. The old man came to the tee and said not a word, he was after all playing against some powerful people. So he hit the ball, it rolled six feet or so in front of the tee, and then a squirrel came running past and grabbed the ball and started to run away with it. All at once an Eagle came down and picked up the squirrel who had the ball in its mouth. The Eagle was flying high when out of no where came a bolt of lighting and it hit the Eagle, who dropped the squirrel who landed right on top of the flag on the green. The ball came out of the mouth of the squirrel and dropped into the cup for a hole in one... with that Jesus turned and said... Nice shot, Father...

And with that I will pray... Dear Lord, we know there is a cost to follow You and to be your disciple and we also know that it is also very, very rewarding. Most of the rewards will come to us later, but one thing we who follow you have learned, you provide our needs and lots of extras here on earth. We also found out that we can never out-give You. Help us to be a disciple and to give up all that might get between us. Help us to carry our own cross for You for we know so often in life You have carried it for us. Lord, bless and heal those on our prayer lists today. In the name of Jesus I give thanks for this computer and for the messages that You give to me. I also pray today as always in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ... Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings and giving up all things that get between you and God.
Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 8, 2010 The Cost

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, and yes even his own life, he cannot be my disciple."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Not a cloud in the sky and the sun and The Son are both shining beautiful... PRAISE THE LORD...

Today is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders (yes, even if you did not vote for them), and it is also the day we pray for our veterans, our military, our police & firefighters, and those EMT's, ambulance drivers and attendants and the pilots who fly the skies on medical missions. And not just the chopper pilots but also those single engine pilots and owners who use their planes for those mercy missions.

Today I could add a page full of people who need health prayers at The Bridges, so please just pray for the health of the folks at The Bridges. Also we all remember Baby Ally who we prayed and prayed for at birth and up through her very young years and last week we prayed for her eyes. I did not get an update on her as of yet, but today we are going to add another baby to our list. Her name... Baby Clara, and if you want to read about her, please check in at the following website. www.caringbridge.org/visit/claraplumstead. I just got this in and did not look at it myself. Our wonderful waitress at Isaacs' (Cindy) where we eat most often after church on Sundays gave us the information. Also please pray for our ministry partner, Pamela Bower, as she sees a surgeon about surgery for breast cancer..

PRAISE REPORT... Yes, from Doug Boyer who not too long ago had a very bad stroke, and God has healed him... Yes, restored him to full health. I am going to ask Doug to write something about his healing by our Lord Jesus and I will tag it to a message as soon as I get it. On this line we do not praise God enough. We pray for healing and then do not hear back about the results of God's will being done. Folks, we need to praise God for His work in our lives and we need to do it even more often than asking for things.

The Cost: Luke 14: 25 - Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them He said:
26 "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, and yes even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." 27 "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." (NIV)

In everything we do there is a cost to it... EVERYTHING, I say, has a cost! While often we think about cost always being in terms of dollars and cents (ok forget the cents on today's market) but we think of all things costing money. And in most cases it does relate down to money. You want a car, it costs money and not just for the car, remember all the taxes and fees when you purchase it, new or used. If you want a house, you will pay for it regardless if you buy or rent. If you want to sit on something in the house like a chair, more money, even if you buy it used. Again, almost everything that you have, or do, has a price tag relating to dollars. In fact if you can think of anything that you do that does not cost in terms of money, let me know...

In our scripture for today we find our Lord telling us what the cost might be to follow Him and to be a disciple for Him. Now while He does not point out anything that relates to dollars in this scripture we will look more into those costs as the week unfolds. But today, let's look at a few things here...

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, and yes even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." Here we find Jesus telling us that to come to Him we must hate our own family, our parents, our spouse, our children, our brothers and sisters. Wait a minute, is this not the same Jesus that told us to love our neighbors? Why, yes it is. So, let's get a term straight right now. What Jesus is saying here is we must put Him, above all others... Let's take a look at Matthew 10:37, and again, this is in the words of Jesus.

Matthew 10:37 - "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." (NIV)

So while Jesus is putting it to us very, very hard that we must love Him most of all, and even uses the word "hate", he really wants us to love, just love Him most of all... I remember way back in my Sunday school days, back when the streets were still dirt, and our teacher was talking about loving Jesus, he (our teacher) told us we must love Jesus above our parents and I told that teacher point blank I loved my mamma more. The teacher tried to explain to me that it was really a different kind of love and left it at that. But you know what, that teacher was really wrong. It was not a different kind of love at all and still is not. Love coming from the heart is love, (not sex) and in my own words love is the deep caring for others including not just Jesus and your family but also your friends and of course your neighbors; however, that love needs to be stronger and deeper for our Lord Jesus. And folks, if you love Jesus more than anyone else, more than everyone else, those that are in number two spot will just not mind. If you want to question someone on that, just ask my wife, or my kids or others who really know me deeply. The more and more I love Jesus, the more and more I love others, even those who really do not like me at all. While I care if others like me or love me, I am not going to get upset about it, for I know my deep feelings for others even when we tough it out on other things.

I know this beautiful young lady really well that works really hard and that causes some folks to talk behind her back and dislike them in the office she works in. My advice to this beautiful lady is to just keep loving Jesus, loving those in the office, work hard as you can for your Lord and those who hired you, and love everyone even if they don't love you. You see if you are loving Jesus and working hard you will always come to the top. Sort of like cream in a bottle of milk (back in the old days when you had a bottle), the cream always came to the top. And folks, it still does. So folks, do not worry about those talking behind your back, do not get involved in it, just do your work, loving the Lord, and watch your love grow for others... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven... PRAISE YOU, PRAISE YOU. For healing Doug and my wife Dolores and for caring for Matthew, and Lord, so many others who we do not take time to praise You about. So Lord, today I want to say thank You. For watching over Baby Ally, and now, Lord, we ask You look after another baby who we are giving over to You... Heal her please in the name of Jesus. And Lord, for all on our prayer list we pray in Jesus name and we will give You the honor and glory... Amen.

Folks, as you pray today for our veterans, please remember they are not all old men with a few old women, our veterans today are as young as 18 and some very much disabled. Now go forth, loving Jesus above all else and all others and sharing the blessings He gave to us. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

March 5, 2010 Worries and Burdens

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be BURDENED again by a yoke of slavery.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters welcome to a beautiful Friday, another day that our Good Lord has entrusted to us. Please use it for God and use it wisely. Today is the day that we pray for all those who are workers in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. As we pray today for workers I am asking your prayers for Carry The Light Ministries partner, Pamela Bower. Pam was told yesterday she has breast cancer. On Good Friday of this year Pam will have stood beside me for sixteen years singing the gospel, mostly at retirement and nursing homes. We are trusting God for total healing from the cancer as He also has healed me. New listings on the prayer list for the Sanders family as Ruth (resident of The Bridges) went home to Jesus. Her husband William is in the hospital recovering from a broken hip. Also pray for Gary Wu from Orlando, Florida, who has had to close his business (Orlando Bus sales) due to pain throughout his entire body. Prayers also for "Spike" and the Michaud as they change gears in their business. Please also take time to look back at our prayer requests of the last few days.

Worries and Burdens 5: Galatians 5:1 - It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (NIV)

Galatians 6:2 - Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV)

Ok, let's get started. It seems we just cannot get through a day without more burdens or things to worry about being added to our lives. Even as I am writing on worries and burdens and even today as we are going at the end of the message bundle them up in prayer and give them to Jesus. Even as we do all these things the worries and burdens just seem to grow and grow. Telling people not to worry and have all of us, yes me also, to give them to God is hard, for if it is one thing that we all seem to want to do, even if we say we don't, we hang on to these things. If I were to ask all of you who have children, do you worry about your children? You would all answer yes, and those with young children still in school, if you think the worries end when they get older and move out of the family home to start their own home, if you think the worries end, no they can get worse. So all of us must try and lean more on our Lord Jesus and as we see today and I want to point it out, we need to LEAN ON EACH OTHER.

Yesterday I was overwhelmed as I came out of a hospital after being with a family telling a family member in the hospital that their spouse had just passed away. Even though all were expecting this and even praying for God to end the pain and suffering and take this wonderful lady of God home, it was tough. This was by my count the 15th death at the community I pastor since January. So I called my good friend and brother in Christ, Tom Mozer, and we talked for a while. Later the same day I called him again to tell him about Pam. Now I know that he and his wife will pray for us as will you folks on the line. So today I wanted to show you in the Bible that we are to carry each others burdens and one way to help carry them is to listen. (Something that I need to learn more about.) Then together we can dump them, ok, give them over to the Lord. Recently after telling folks about our son Matthew and his struggles in life I have had more and more hugs from people saying, we have gone through this in our family, or we are going through this now. And do you know what a big hug means when you have a heavy burden...

I have people on this line that I have concerns about even though I have never met them. They have such a heavy load, bad health, no money, house payments behind. Brothers and sisters, as we help carry each other's burdens and learn together to give them over to God, it is the real meaning of Loving your neighbor. True love for your neighbors, beside your house or across the world, is to help them when things are down. Some people, and some of those who even say they are Christians, and I am not the judge of them about their standing with Christ, but some people do not want to hear about others saying I have enough of my own. I want you to try something for me... I want you to take a table, one you can get your hands around, and then lay 100 pounds of something on top. Then try and lift it... Then get someone to help you... see which way works the best. You will struggle when trying to lift a heavy load alone, and when you share the load, with a friend and with God, the load gets lighter. Again I mentioned my friend Tom for he and I work on antique buses together. Before we start all of us at the bus museum pray about the events we are going to do. Tom and I do the same when we go to our storage location to work. Bus batteries are very heavy and if we try, and I have, to lift them into the bus alone, it is really hard, but when Tom and I lift them together it does get lighter, most often I really share my burdens and give him the "heavy end".

Do you see what I am saying, ok, hear what I am saying. If we share the Lord with friends and with God, our load gets lighter and our worries and burdens are must easier to deal with. Amen.

Now let's go to prayer, let's bundle up those burdens and worries and unload them on Jesus. Please pray for all those on our lists on your own for today we need this prayer. Remember as you pray this prayer, it is an "I" prayer, as we are even though going to God, through Jesus as a group, we are asking not just as a group but one on one, which is the only way we can get saved. Make it personal now, folks... let's go.

Dear Father in Heaven, we, I, come to You today through Your Son, Jesus, and we lay our, my, burdens and worries at Your feet. Lord we are, I am, heavy burdened, worries that seem to not end. So today we, I, come to You asking again through our Lord Jesus, this in very simple terms... Please carry the load for us... help us, help me... and we, I, will surely give you the glory. In the name of Jesus, we, I, pray today. AMEN.

Now go free of those burdens, try not to pick them up, and remember as God helps us, we also need to help others and we can surely do some of that by sharing our blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.
