Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord!
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line. I love it that we have Salvation Wednesday, as years and years, and yes, years ago I remember being "drug" to Wednesday night prayer meetings. Folks, we need Jesus daily and we need to live for Him daily, but we also need to take in fuel... daily devotions, and yes those mid-week services at a GOOD church where the truth is taught. Today we pray for those who we think might not be saved and we pray for God to use us helping to bring in the lost. Please remember this, we cannot save anyone, but we are to be the tool that is used to bring them to Jesus. Only Jesus can save the soul.
Please keep Eleanor Saylor in your prayers and also Sharon and Bob Saylor. Also please keep my friend David in your prayer. This young man is crippled up with arthritis and now has suffered a mild heart attack that left no damage but required four openings of blockages. He is also diabetic. None of this stops this man. Dave was a bus driver for me and is now one of our bus museum members and was about to join our team showing the buses in the museum, he also loves Jesus with all his heart.
The Journey 7: Genesis 6:8 - But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. (NIV)
As we go back in time today and sit watching as Noah gets the call to build The Ark... You see Noah was a great man who loved God and along with His family God would save the world through them at this time. Think of this, how bad it must have been for God to destroy all that He made.
Now if we would be called upon by the Lord to build an Ark, what would you do? Or let me put the question another way... When God asks you to do something today for Him, do you do it? You say He has never asked... Oh my... If you think that please go to Mark 16: 15 and read about going into all the world and telling the good news. We are to ask to work for our Lord daily. Gosh, that is what I am doing right now, God asked me to do this years ago, and as long as He gives me the messages, then I am sure that He wants me to do it each day. Some days I am tired and weary in the morning, but when I look at what He gave Noah and his family to do, my work load is very light.
Noah, I want you to build an Ark! Now I would guess that Noah had no idea how to build an Ark and that big, so God taught Noah and his family how to get it done. He said make it from gopher wood, folks, I thought gophers were animals that ruined your garden, so you see I would be in trouble already. May I point out at this time that God will never, hear me on this, God would never send you out to do a job for Him without supplying you the tools and all else needed to get the job done.
I think of my friends, Dave, Duane and Neil, and how hard it must have been when they decided to follow Jesus and listen to Him and come to an area to sing Gospel music where it was not heard of much. How they would work hard and walk each day in faith depending on God to send all of their needs. Folks, these men, former Couriers, are still doing this and so are the Young men, Tim and Larry, the Couriers of today, walking that same walk of faith. Working hard and putting in their own funds to keep the mission on the road. Ok, back to the Ark.
Noah I want you to build this Ark three hundred cubits long... Lord, what is a cubit? Ok, that would have been my next question. So let's make it in feet. Noah. build the Ark 450 feet Long and 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Lets look at that again. We have two acres which our house sets on. It is 400 feet long and 200 feet wide.. If we would build the Ark today on our property we would need to run into our neighbors yard by about 50 feet and that would not go over very good. Think of it like this: a football field is three hundred feet plus the end zones and 50 feet wide. The Ark is bigger. and about the height of a three to four story building. In other words it was big, baby, big. If that chore was given to you to get done and told you would have 7 helpers, your three sons and your wife and the wives of your sons, what would happen? A family fight. Dad, we will never get this done... and the ladies, I am not cooking one more meal for these guys... and when it is done you are bringing what on the boat? You think I am cleaning up after an elephant? You are crazy. Think of it, folks. Noah was one really good man... and then he was building this thing because it was going to rain. Folks, no one knew what rain was, but they were going to find out, and so are you... tomorrow as we load the Ark.
Dear Father in Heaven, You trusted Noah and his family to work for You and I pray this day that You can trust all of us on this line to also work for You. Lord, send us our assignments each day and help us with the tools and knowledge to get it done. Lord, please heal my friends Eleanor, Sharon, Bob and Dave. And Lord, thanks for finding favor in me to do this line for You and thanks for finding favor in Dave, Duane, Neil, Tim and Larry for the mission you sent them on. And thanks for finding favor in Larry Hale and Doug Boyer and also in Pam Bower and Dave and Joanne and so many others that I cannot remember today. Lord, thanks for trusting me, I am humbled by it. And I give thanks and pray in the name of Jesus... Love ya, Amen.
When I just closed my prayer I closed it like I close my message each day. I then went back and took it off, and then I thought, what is wrong with saying love ya to our Lord Jesus, so I put it back.... Now go forth and share those blessings. Love ya, dan.
