Wednesday 11/5/14 Salvation

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a wonderful night's rest, and thanks for waking us this morning.  I love You, Lord, and I apologize to You, my dear Lord, for all the pain I have caused You because of my sins.  Thanks for being there for me through thick and thin.  Lord, on this line that You have trusted me to write, it is Salvation Wednesday, so I ask, Lord, that You point out to us those who have not come unto You and help us to lead them in so that through Jesus they might be saved.  Lord, please keep using Patsy to bring others to You, even as she is almost bedfast in a retirement home.  Lord, I pray for the  ministries that You  have trusted upon Carry The Light Ministries and I pray that we will get our assignments done for You.  Please bless me now with that message of today and then please help me with getting it into the hands that need it, including my own.  In the Loving Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

The day after election day and the very best blessing that is on the day after election day is, it is SALVATION WEDNESDAY.  Yes, election day is always on a Tuesday.  Next blessing, the commercials are done for awhile.  Will someone say PRAISE THE LORD for that?  I have been praying about Salvation a lot lately and just think, the timing is right to do a one-day message about Salvation, unless of course God adds to the assignment.  I do wonder today how many added prayers God handled the last few days before election.  Let me get started with the message.

Salvation Wednesday:  November 5, 2015, Salvation!!

Titus 2:11 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope -- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify, for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. (NIV)

Who needs salvation?  Only those not wanting to go to hell, that's who.  How much does salvation cost us?  If you are talking money, or silver, or gold and things like that, it costs us nothing, for Jesus already paid the bill.  No, not with money, silver or gold, He paid it with His very own blood.  So how do we get this free thing I am calling "Salvation?"  You asked for it, it is a gift from God The Father, delivered to us through His Son Jesus Christ.  Let's look at the scripture that God led me to today.

Titus was a convert of Paul, who wrote this passage.  I want you to think about this as we discuss this on a Salvation Wednesday.  Are you a Paul today?  One who is saved, born again, and working to convert others?  Or are you a Titus, one who has been led to the Lord by a "Paul?"  Now let me say this, we could also be a Titus, and more than likely that is what we all are, for we were led to Jesus to be saved by someone.  Did you follow me on that one?  What I am saying is just this, once you receive Christ Jesus as your personal savior, you need to get right to work for Him.

Wait a minute, Pastor Dan, you said the gift of salvation was free, but now you are telling me once I take the free gift, that gift of salvation, I need to get to work for Jesus.  Yes, that is what I am telling you.  It is no trick,if you are not willing to work for Jesus, then you are really not saved, and I can see right now this is not going to be a one-day message, for God wants me to show you folks where all of this is found in the Bible.  But let me go back to the scripture in Titus, in fact, I am going to bring it down so we can stud it a tad.

(NIV)

In Titus 2:11 it tells us that God brings salvation and He has appeared to all men.  Okay, ask yourself this, when we are talking salvation, who appeared to all men?  Jesus did!  Yes, He spent about three dozen years on the earth.  Now in verse 12 we get some instructions.  We are to say NO to ungodliness and worldly passions and to be self-controlled, upright and godly in this present age.  What age would that be?  Do I really need to tell you this?  It would be in the year of our Lord 2014 and beyond, for, come on, say it with me.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Amen!!

In verse 13 it tells us that we are to do these things as we what?  Yes, as we wait upon the Lord to return and The Word tells us that it will be glorious and it tells us that it is Jesus Christ whom we are waiting for.  And then in verse 14 it goes on to tell us, "He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify, for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good."  I really love this scripture, it tells us that Jesus wanted to redeem us and purify us, so He would  have a people of His very own.  And when we take on Jesus as our Savior we should be EAGER, EXCITED, we should WANT TO do what is good.

I will need to get back into this tomorrow.  Salvation is just too important to try and fit it into one writing.  Now will you join with me in a short prayer to get a bath?

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and I confess I am a sinner and need to be washed clean of sin.  I also need to repent and want You to help me with that.  Please, Lord, hear my prayers.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and walking with the Lord.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love to others.

Pastor Dan
