Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I need You very, very much. I have been slacking at my writing for You and I am so sorry. I have prayed and I want to keep writing if indeed You want me to. Please, Lord, help us at this very busy time. Please override some pain in my body and brain, Lord, so I can think straight. Please be with Pastor Carol and watch over her. Please be with the families that have been burnt out of their homes. Thanks for the food and donations coming in to help feed the hungry. Please, Lord, give us the strength to carry forth in our food missions. Lord, be with Patsy and Burt and touch them. Be with Pat and touch her eyes. Please help us to locate our son Matthew. Lord, please protect our homeland, the place where Jesus was born and walked. Lord, protect Your people. I pray for peace this day, Lord, and Lord, please help me with daily messages. Lord, I know more than ever that the harvest is ready. It is ripe and I am letting You down. Help me now with the message. Help me to get it dispatched, and Lord, help this line grow and grow and grow and be used for You and to promote the Kingdom of God. Help us to lead people to the feet of Jesus. Today, Lord, is Wednesday and the day we call Salvation Wednesday. Help us find the lost and get them in. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, please pray for my pain level to drop. It has really taken over my whole body. Your prayers for Dolores would also be appreciated. Please remember the upcoming dates. December 6th at 9:00 AM we will be picking and packing and then on Saturday, December 13, we will need a lot of folks here by about 8:15 AM to get set up for the guests. Today we had a good example of how our new look at the food pantry will work. Grant and Wanda had people stop by the church where they attend to get some free clothing as they were burnt out of their home. We were able to place food into their hands to get them restarted and we will have them back for the Christmas distribution. Please keep praying for the new mission of how we distribute food for our Lord. We want to get it into the hands of the real needy, and not the "lazy needy." My word, folks, my words. Please also pray for my daily writing and for a book that I want to write. Once again on this Salvation Wednesday, I want to tell you that "Above All Else," I love Jesus, then I want you all to know that I love you also. With that said, let me get moving on this Salvation Wednesday evening.
Salvation Wednesday: November 19, 2014: "Above All Else" (Day Two)
Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (NIV)
Please take time to read Matthew 6:25/34 as it talks about worrying and a lot of things we cannot control. In short it tells us that if we believe in Jesus and "Above All Else" have faith in Him and Love Him, He will carry you through in all You do. Will there be bumps along the way? Yes, of course, but when we love Jesus we will never need to walk those bumpy roads alone. Let's look at more scripture. I love scripture, don't you? Each day I have been trying to add more scripture to the messages. I want you all to know this. What I write about I want to be inspired by God, and I have been spending more time in prayer and more time in the Word.
Matthew 7:5 - "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." (NIV)
I think some of this scripture was written just for me. I really do. I also think this is a great scripture that should be taught in our churches. There are so many people who really get involved in their local churches and try to do everything, really good people, but then they sometimes complain that others do not help. It would be like if a man had time, say on a Tuesday, to go help at his church, the church he loves so much. He left it be known that he would come in on Tuesdays on his day off and clean all the restrooms in the church. However, some others in the church wanted to be seen doing all things so on a Monday they would go and do thee things and then complain that no one else comes to help. Churches often split over leadership decisions because those serving on committees forget who the real leadership is. Does the pastor lead the church? Does council lead the church? Does the council president set the agenda? Often it is forgotten that Jesus should be the leader of the church and any other way it just does not work. One thing that has become big in churches is coffee time at the church, a time of fellowship. But does that help or hurt? Does it become a place of gossip? "Above All Else" we need to look at "OURSELVES" to be sure that we do not have that plank in our eye that is talked about in the scripture that God pointed out to me today.
Matthew 19:30 - "But many who are first will be last and many who are last will be first." (NIV)
What does this scripture mean? How can a person who is first really be the last, and how can that person who is last become first? When we really go to work for Christ, really work for Him, we must put aside a lot of things that we would just love to do here on earth. If you are really truthful with yourself, would you not like just one time to hit that lotto for a few million dollars? Oh, you purchase a ticket and you pray a lot. Lord, if I win that money, I could build You a church, and I could build You this and build You that. How about it, Lord, could you bless us both with that winning ticket? Brothers and sisters, if we really wanted to help our Lord Jesus build a church, we could do what He has commanded us to do. "Go into the fields of Harvest and bring in the lost." If you want to be first in the Kingdom of God we need to lay down our nets here on earth and follow Him. We need to go to work building His church, not a brick and mortar building that we call a church. I know we need GOOD places to go and worship, go where others who love God go, and where the truth is preached from the Bible. So many churches, earthly churches, want to do the thing that seems to be politically correct. Man's laws have been changed so that a man can marry a man or a woman can marry a woman, but GOD'S LAWS HAVE NOT CHANGED. We are to love all people, but we are not to love the sins. Each day man's law tells us that it is okay to abort a baby, end the life of a child not yet out of the womb. Follow these rules and it is okay, and you will not be arrested for it. Killing a child is legal in the United States if done while the child is in the womb. GOD'S LAW HAS NOT CHANGED. Whose law do you want to follow? We need to follow man's law when it comes to some things, but not when man's laws go against GOD'S LAWS AND COMMANDS.
"Above All Else" we need to follow our Lord Jesus and sometimes that will go against man's laws. Just because something is legal in the eyes of man, does NOT MEAN IT IS LEGAL IN THE EYES OF GOD. If you want to follow man's laws, why not do it when it comes to paying your taxes? Do you know our churches would have a lot more money in their checkbooks if people would be putting in the offering plate what they deduct from their taxes? How about that? People worry about the wrath of the Internal Revenue Service when they should worry about the Wrath of God.
So let me ask you this today. Do you want to be first on earth and last when you get to heaven? Or do you want to walk with Jesus "Above All Else" here on earth so that someday you will be able to sit at His feet in Heaven? I would love to hear your answer. Tomorrow, more on "Above All Else."
Now go forth and share your blessings, and "Above All Else," regardless of what it takes, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and walk with Him in all you do. Love ya. Please pass on the love of Jesus and my love also.
Pastor Dan
No joke today. I want to ask you to start your day tomorrow with this little song.
"Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart."
Be blessed, brothers and sisters.
