Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Thank You for another day. Thanks for waking me to serve You another day. Please help us with our daily walk with You. Thanks for watching over our family and our friends, and please continue that blessing for us, as we love You for that and appreciate it. Jesus, thanks for dying for us on the cross. Thanks for spreading Your blood over me to wash me free of sin. Send the Holy Spirit over us this day and help us to just sing praises for You in all we do. Guide and direct our each and every move. Lord, please help us on this our Salvation Wednesday to seek out the lost and to get them to You to be saved. Use us, Lord, use me, Lord. Now, please, Lord, help me with the daily message and then to get it dispatched. I love You, and in Jesus' Name, I pray this day. Amen.
Are we not blessed, my dear brothers and sisters? God has awakened us for another day and now we have a choice. Do we serve Him or do we serve the devil? It is a choice we need to make each day. Brothers and sisters, we cannot serve two masters, and our Lord has given us a choice ... serve Jesus or serve Satan, walk in the light or walk in the dark ... fight for good or fight for evil. Help others or only think of yourself. Yes, lots of choices each day, and I pray we all make the right choice. So how about it? What choices will you make this day, this Wednesday, this Salvation Wednesday? What's In a Name? And will you choose the right one? Let's get started.
Salvation Wednesday: November 12, 2014: What's In a Name? (Day Three)
Proverbs 22:1 - A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. (NIV)
Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (NIV)
Did you notice that those heroes of our children are all strong? Batman, Spiderman, Batgirl and Robin. One of the strong heroes from the past is gone. Superman is gone. Why? No more phone booths to change in! Okay, that one was a joke, but think about it. All those I named were strong. Our kids look at them for their strength. We need to teach them at a young age that the only real hero should be our Lord Jesus and He did not get his great name by beating others up. But when it comes to beating up on evil, Jesus Christ is the strongest, and the Bible tells us that. Just the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and we who know Him will run to Him. Sadly, we do not run to Him often enough and sometimes only run to Him when we are in trouble.
As far as our own name, we can make it good or we can make it bad. Which way do you want your name? All of these names of the Lord are in the Bible. How many of them would you welcome into your life?
"The Everlasting Father." Coming from Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and His name shall be called "The Everlasting Father."
Our Lord God is our Everlasting Father. He is with us from the time the seed was planted in the womb until He calls us home. And from the same scripture comes this name of our Lord.
"The Prince of Peace." This is one of the names that I really love. Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and at my age, I would love to see peace, real peace. Are you not tired of picking up the paper and seeing how many people are murdered in the United States? We need to really get in touch with God through prayer and really pray for peace, peace in our streets, peace in the cities, peace hoping that our black brothers would stop killing each other. Peace from drivers who think they can drink, text, talk on the phone and drive a 3000 pound or heavier "murder" weapon called a car. Trust me on this one, a car or truck and even those big rigs in the hands of drivers who are drunk or texting is no different than getting drunk and carrying a firearm.
Here is another name for our Lord from Colossians 1:16.
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him."
God created all things and made them for Him. He decided in His wisdom (another name for God for a later time) after creating all things to make man and put us in charge of it. Then we tried to run things on our own and we sure have made a mess out of it. From the time of Adam we fell to sin, man fell to sin. We went through the days of Noah, and started over, and Man went back to sin. God sent us Jesus and He died for us, and still man turned to sin. He made us and He loved us and loves us still and we still sin. It is time, my dear brothers and sisters, to return to God, to come to Jesus and get our sins covered on this our Salvation Wednesday. Someday our sweet Jesus will be sent back for all who are saved. Are you one of those today? Let's go to Jesus now and ask to be saved.
Dear Father in Heaven, I come to You this day asking for the Free Gift of Salvation that my Jesus died to give me. Wash me white as snow. Clear me of sins and help me repent. Place my name in Heaven's book, the Lamb's Book of Life. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and serve the Lord with Gladness and share the blessings He has given unto you. I love ya. Please pass on my love.
