Saturday 11/29/14 Above All Else! 5

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very, very much.  Please forgive me of my sins and even sins that just seem to come into my mind and do  not surface except to me and of course You.  I do love You, Jesus, I really do.  Lord, thanks for having Your hand on Jeff and Dave and touching them.  Thanks for the drop-in help yesterday.  Lord, I pray today for all those who protect us night and day, those in our military, our police and those who serve as firefighters and first responders, most for no pay at all.  Lord, watch over hunters that will be soon heading to the mountains to hunt deer.  Please help the bounty not be wasted.  I pray today for Al Sharpton and pray that he would start coming to You before he tries to lead protests and get people to riot.  Please, Lord, humble him.  Please also be with our President, and I pray he also comes to You.  I need help now with my message and then to get it dispatched.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray this day.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I love all of you.  Please remember two dates that are coming up in a real hurry.  Saturday, December 6th, starting at 9:00 AM, when we meet to pack out food for about 75 or more families.  Then again on Saturday, December 13th, when we need helpers here by 8:30 AM for distribution.  We need loaders and people to help direct people, some to help keep the baskets rolling and the very most important job, we need prayer warriors, for here at Carry The Light Ministries Food Pantry, it is more important to feed the soul than to feed the body.  We of course want to do both and do it right because w are doing it for JESUS.  I don't know about all of you, but I get out-and-out excited about working for Jesus.  I pray all of you are doing well and will come and join in the fun, for it is indeed fun working for our Savior.  Someone could right now shout out AMEN.

Saturday:  November 29, 2014:  "Above All Else!"  (Day Five)

1 John 4:19 - We love because He first loved us.  20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar.  For anyone who does not love  his brother, who he has seen, cannot love God, who he has not seen.  (NIV)

Our dear Lord God has given us so many blessings, beside supplying our needs, all of our needs He supplies so many of our wants and of course so many other things so that we have what we need to work for Him.  God is love and He loves us dearly, and regardless of what we do He will always love us.  The greatest gift that He gave us was Jesus and Salvation through Jesus, but to receive this great gift we must love Him.  So He also gave us this great gift of Love.  In fact the Bible tells us that love is the greatest of all gifts.  He has also taught us or has tried to teach us that we must love Him and also our neighbors.  Those are the two greatest commandments.  We must love others, we really must love all others.  That sometimes is very hard to do, but we can plainly see in the scripture above that if there is someone we do not love, then we do not love God either.  Read it for yourself.  If you hate your brother, which means your brother or your sister, and that does not mean a blood brother or a blood sister.  If we truly love God then we will love all others regardless of their skin color, or even their religion.  Of course those who do not love Jesus we need to love them and try to lead them to Jesus.  Please do not get confused that as you love those others, you are not to love their sins.  In fact we also need to take that lead from Jesus who loves all of us and hates our sins.  In fact, He forgives us of our sins and of course we are to forgive the trespasses of others.  Love, a great four letter word that means so much, so very much.  So today I ask this "Above All Else," do you love God?  And also "Above All Else," do you love others?

Revelation 1:17 - When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead.  Then He placed His right hand on me and said; "Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last, 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever!  And I hold the keys of death and Hades."  (NIV)

Please take note in this scripture that Jesus tells us that He is the First.  Yes, it was He who created Heaven and earth.  And He is the Last, and because He will be the Last, we will get to be with Him forever for He, and look at this, He holds the keys to death and Hades.  So we have this big decision that should be very easy to make.  We can choose Jesus and love Him and follow His commands and we can live forever with Him in Heaven, or we could turn our back on Him, be a non-believer and be pitched into the lake of firer, known to us as HELL.  Our choice, my dear brothers and sisters.  Have you made your choice as of today?  "ABOVE ALL ELSE."  Have you made your choice and have you made the correct one?  Did you choose Jesus?  Did you choose love?  Let's pray about this.

Dear Father in Heaven:  Please forgive me of my sins and please know that I confess my love of You this very, very day.  I believe in my heart that You died on the cross and that You were risen from the dead and I confess that with my mouth according to scriptures as found in Romans 10:9 and 10.  Oh, how I love You, Jesus, please list me in the Lamb's Book of Life.  Also, please list all those who ask today, and Lord, help us to get this word out to others.  I love You very, very much, and I pray in Your wonderful name, Jesus.  Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and enjoying leftover turkey which is even better warmed up.  Keep remembering to love all others and know that I love ya.  Please pass on my love to others.

Wednesday 11/26/14 Above All Else! 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please, dear Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for bringing Jeff through surgery.  Please keep Your healing hand upon Jeff and also our dear Christian brother David.  Please be with those who are traveling this holiday, and please help keep our roads, rails, and skies safe.  Lord, all honor and glory for everything good goes to You this day and everyday.  Please bring peace, worldwide peace, and I pray for Reverend Al Sharpton to come to You, Lord, to be saved.  On this Wednesday, Lord, which we lovingly call Salvation Wednesday, lead us to the lost and help us to lead them to You to be saved.  Now, Lord, please help me with the message and to get it dispatched.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I love you.  Please pray for Dave Fortney and pray also for Jeff, our son-in-law, as he had major surgery yesterday.  Pray also for Joanne and Danelle.  Joanne is married to David, and Danelle, our daughter, is married to Jeff.  Please pray also for those traveling, and while you are praying, please cover me with prayer.  My son Keith is out of town and dad is going to cover his snow plow route.  Please pray the snow stops.  Thanks for your prayers.  Now to the message, "Above All Else."  Remember, brothers and sisters, it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, and even if the snow covers the fields, the crop that the Lord is talking about can still be reached for harvest.  We have work to do, brothers and sisters.

Salvation Wednesday:  November 26, 2014:  Above All Else!  (Day Four)

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.  14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.  (NIV)

Back when I was but a child, yes, back when the streets were still dirt and the Dead Sea was still sick, my mamma or daddy would come to my bedroom and hear my prayers.  Like a lot of children back then, I was taught this prayer.  "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.  If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take."  Then, of course, we added in our own things, like God bless mamma and daddy, Mickey (my dog) and a few others.  I can't help but wonder this day that when we were praying that prayer as a child how many of us knew what it all meant.  Brothers and sisters, according to scripture,if we are "Born Again," when we pass from this earth, our soul goes straight to the Lord.  So as a child, my parents taught me to ask God to take my soul if I would not make it through the night.  All of us for one reason or another want as much time here on earth as we can get.  But if we love Jesus, I mean love Him "Above All Else," if something happens to us, in a flash we will be with Him.  So the number one thing in our lives, yes, ABOVE ALL ELSE, we need to be Born Again, and we need to be working to have others come to Jesus.   You know here in America we have parties for about everything.  New Years' Parties start off the year.  Birthday parties, Valentine parties, St. Patrick's Day parties.  Oh, I missed Groundhog Day parties.  Super Bowl Day parties.  I mean there are parties each month of some kind or another.  I think we need to have "Come to Jesus" parties.  I mean there are times when people seem to have a come to Jesus meeting when they get into trouble.  But I think we should have some big COME TO JESUS PARTIES!!  Sing a lot of good gospel music, have some good prayers and some preaching about Hell that can make one feel the heat.  Then instead of ice cream and cake we can have communion and then back to singing for the Lord and maybe even some dancing.  Think about it, folks, a really big party, and no hangover the next day.  I would love to h ave a party like that.  How about you, brothers and sisters?  Be you "Born Again" already or just coming to Christ for the very first time, how about a really big COME TO JESUS PARTY?

We could sing and dance and witness to each other.  We could talk about being saved and working for Jesus, we could have quiet prayers and then SHOUT OUT FOR THE LORD.  It is all in the Bible, folks.  "ABOVE ALL ELSE," at this party Jesus would be lifted.  We could forget for awhile what denomination we might be and just remember that we are Children of God.  We can sing and sing and sing.  How about it, I mean if we had it near Christmas it could be a Birthday Party for Jesus, but I am thinking it would just be a good old "Come to Jesus Party."  And at this party "Above All Else," Jesus would be lifted.  We could even get o n our knees at this party and invite the World's Greatest Horn Player to the party.  We can invite Jesus to this party, and of course the Holy Spirit.  And it is all in the Bible.  Here are a few scriptures that could be used at the party that makes it according to God's Word.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and the TRUMPET call of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first ... (NIV)

Psalm 100:1 - Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.  (NIV)

Psalm 150:3 - Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre.  4 Praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute.  5 Praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals.  6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise The Lord.  (NIV)

I pray that all of you will  have a very blessed Thanksgiving Day and that "Above All Else," you Praise the Lord and give thanks for the turkey on the table, and let me say this, if you are around that table and do not love the Lord, I said if you are around the table AND DO NOT LOVE THE LORD, then you are just like the turkey on the table.  YOU ARE DEAD.

How about it, a big old "COME TO JESUS PARTY."  Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please share my love.

Sunday 11/23/14 Above All Else! 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You and I really appreciate You.  Thanks for all the food that has been donated to the food pantry and for the help sorting it out.  Lord, thanks for keeping our minds on track.  Lord, please be with my dear brother in Christ, Dave Fortney, and heal  his beat-up body.  Lord, on this Thanksgiving week 2014, help us to remember that You set food before us each day of the year and we need to be just as thankful each day for all we receive from You.  Be with President Obama and I pray he would come to You for surely he must not be thinking of You on some things he does.  Please protect him and his family and all of our leaders.  Please watch over our veterans and watch over our current military and keep them safe.  Please, Lord, touch Al Sharpton and I pray he comes to You and that he is saved.  I can't believe that a pastor of Your word can lead people to cause trouble.  I am trying not to judge him, Lord, but I have never once heard him talk about You.  Please be in our cities where he is busing in trouble-makers and keep the peace.  Protect our police and firefighters.  Thanks for the break from the cold weather, Lord.  Lord, help me to get back to writing, help me keep my focus better on You and not the pain in my body.  Help me get the work done You want me to do.  Help me to stop feeling sorry for myself and get busy for You.  Please help me now with the message and then help me to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, it seems like I have been slacking.  Please pray that I can push past some pain and get to work for Jesus.  After all, He took on so much pain for me as He died on the cross for my sins.  And each time I sin it keeps hurting Him to this day.  My love for Jesus is growing deeper and deeper each day as is my love for you folks.  Please, folks, keep Dave in your prayers.  Place him on your prayer lists at your churches.  Please also pray for his wife Joanne and his sons Arthur and Sean.

Now let me get started with the message and I am going to work hard to stay on schedule.

Sunday:  November 23, 2014:  "Above All Else!" (Day Three)

Matthew 22:37 - Jesus replied:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  38 This is the first and greatest commandment.  39 And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself.'  40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."  (NIV)

I want you to really think about this.  If we would obey, let me say it again, IF WE WOULD OBEY these two great commandments we would not need to worry about the laws and commandments of the first testament.  Those original commandments are covered in these two commandments.  Also, think about this, if people would really, truly love God above all else and love others next, I mean truly love them, it surely would be a peaceful place to live, work, walk, and talk and do all things.

Before this past election day an atheist complained about voting in a church, yes, we go to a church to vote.  This non-believer complained that he had to walk past three pictures of Jesus to get into the polling place.  I sure do think it is funny that a person who does not believe in God, does not believe in Jesus, and even tells people they do not exist, are so threatened by His picture.  Oh, and even after the complaint the pictures remained.  I am so proud of the folks at that church.  There is no God, those non-believers say, but take down the picture of Jesus, for I feel threatened.  Do they know how silly they sound?  For those non-believers I want to tell them something, and listen up.  Please tell those who do not believe this.  I, Pastor Daniel W. Lehman, am a believer and I truly love Jesus with all my heart. I believe He died for me and was risen from the dead by God The Father and knowing all this I want to tell those non-believer this.  Jesus loves you as much as He loves any of us who are "Born Again" and washed in the blood.  In the home of the non-believer the water comes through the pipes as it does in our house.  God gave us all that free gift of Salvation, the difference is the non-believers have left their gift of salvation lay at the base of the cross and have not gone to pick it up.  Now believers, those of you who are washed in the blood, cleansed by the blood, who are "Born Again," it is our job to get the non-believers to pick up that gift.  It is up to us, for God gave it His all for us.  And "Above All Else" we need to find these folks who are threatened by a picture and introduce them to Jesus.

Maybe it would go like this.

Mr., Mrs., or Miss Non-believer:  I have a friend that I would like  you to meet. He is closer than a brother and He loves you very much.  He loves you unconditionally.  He died for you and for me.  He gave us a gift, a free gift, and there is no shipping charge, either.  Sadly, the free gift will expire when you expire if you do not pick it up.  It is not transferable for God through His Son Jesus gave the gift to all of us.  Mr. or Mrs. or Miss or even Ms., if that is what you want to hear, your gift is waiting.  If it was a new cell phone that would become obsolete in a year or so, you would run to get it, but this gift will never wear out, it will never become obsolete, and it is a great promise.

The next time you see the picture of Jesus hanging in your polling place or see the manger scene in your town square, go to it, get on your knees and look up and pray.  Tell the man, not the picture or the scene, to come upon you and ask Him into your heart, invite Him into your life.  I will tell you right now, YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.  Do you hear me, you will never be the same.

Our scripture for today tells us to Love God and love our neighbors.  Non-believers, you are also my neighbors and I do love you.  Why?  Because that is what God wants us to do.  It would be easy, I guess, to turn my back on you.  It would be easy for all those working for the Lord to try and forget about you who do not believe, but we are commanded to love you.  And I want you to know that I take that commandment seriously.  I love you.  If you are living in sin, I hate the sin, but I love you.  I am a sinner also, the only difference between you as a non-believer and me as a believer is my sins have been washed away because I have laid claim to my free gift.  I believe in Jesus.

John 3:16/17 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."  (NIV)

Non-believers, I want you to notice something.  When it rains, God sends you rain also.  When the crops come in, you have food on your table also.  You have the same air to breathe as we do, and we can all dress the same if we want to.  You see, God blesses you even as you might curse Him.  Which leads me to this question.  How come you curse someone who you say does not exist?  Anyway, I would truly love to lead you to God so I could call you my Christian brothers or sisters.  Until then, I just want you to know that you will be my friend, but I would feel much better if you let me carry out the command God has given me and bring in the lost.

Now, brothers and sisters, go forth and share your blessings.  Readers, I do not ask you to forward things I write, but if you have a non-believing friend, this might be a good one to forward.  Jesus loves you and I love ya also.  Please share our love.

Wednesday 11/19/14 Above All Else! 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You and I need You very, very much.  I have been slacking at my writing for You and I am so sorry.  I have prayed and I want to keep writing if indeed You want me to.  Please, Lord, help us at this very busy time.  Please override some pain in my body and brain, Lord, so I can think straight.  Please be with Pastor Carol and watch over her.  Please be with the families that have been burnt out of their homes.  Thanks for the food and donations coming in to help feed the hungry.  Please, Lord, give us the strength to carry forth in our food missions.  Lord, be with Patsy and Burt and touch them.  Be with Pat and touch her eyes.  Please help us to locate our son Matthew.  Lord, please protect our homeland, the place where Jesus was born and walked.  Lord, protect Your people.  I pray for peace this day, Lord, and Lord, please help me with daily messages.  Lord, I know more than ever that the harvest is ready.  It is ripe and I am letting You down.  Help me now with the message.  Help me to get it dispatched, and Lord, help this line grow and grow and grow and be used for You and to promote the Kingdom of God.  Help  us to lead people to the feet of Jesus.  Today, Lord, is Wednesday and the day we call Salvation Wednesday.  Help us find the lost and get them in.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, please pray for my pain level to drop.  It has really taken over my whole body.  Your prayers for Dolores would also be appreciated.  Please remember the upcoming dates.  December 6th at 9:00 AM we will be picking and packing and then on Saturday, December 13, we will need a lot of folks here by about 8:15 AM to get set up for the guests.  Today we had a good example of how our new look at the food pantry will work.  Grant and Wanda had people stop by the church where they attend to get some free clothing as they were burnt out of their home.  We were able to place food into their hands to get them restarted and we will have them back for the Christmas distribution.  Please keep praying for the new mission of how we distribute food for our Lord.  We want to get it into the hands of the real needy, and not the "lazy needy."  My word, folks, my words.  Please also pray for my daily writing and for a book that I want to write.  Once again on this Salvation Wednesday, I want to tell you that "Above All Else," I love Jesus, then I want you all to know that I love you also.  With that said, let me get moving on this Salvation Wednesday evening.

Salvation Wednesday:  November 19, 2014:  "Above All Else"  (Day Two)

Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own."  (NIV)

Please take time to read Matthew 6:25/34 as it talks about worrying and a lot of things we cannot control.  In short it tells us that if we believe in Jesus and "Above All Else" have faith in Him and Love Him, He will carry you through in all You do.  Will there be bumps along the way?  Yes, of course, but when we love Jesus we will never need to walk those bumpy roads alone.  Let's look at more scripture.  I love scripture, don't you?  Each day I have been trying to add more scripture to the messages.  I want you all to know this.  What I write about I want to be inspired by God, and I have been spending more time in prayer and more time in the Word.

Matthew 7:5 - "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."  (NIV)

I think some of this scripture was written just for me.  I really do.  I also think this is a great scripture that should be taught in our churches.  There are so many people who really get involved in their local churches and try to do everything, really good people, but then they sometimes complain that others do not help.  It would be like if a man had time, say on a Tuesday, to go help at his church, the church he loves so much.  He left it be known that he would come in on Tuesdays on his day off and clean all the restrooms in the church.  However, some others in the church wanted to be seen doing all things so on a Monday they would go and do thee things and then complain that no one else comes to help.  Churches often split over leadership decisions because those serving on committees forget who the real leadership is.  Does the pastor lead the church?  Does council lead the church?  Does the council president set the agenda?  Often it is forgotten that Jesus should be the leader of the church and any other way it just does not work.  One thing that has become big in churches is coffee time at the church, a time of fellowship.  But does that help or hurt?  Does it become a place of gossip?  "Above All Else" we need to look at "OURSELVES" to be sure that we do not have that plank in our eye that is talked about in the scripture that God pointed out to me today.

Matthew 19:30 - "But many who are first will be last and many who are last will be first."  (NIV)

What does this scripture mean?  How can a person who is first really be the last, and how can that person who is last become first?  When we really go to work for Christ, really work for Him, we must put aside a lot of things that we would just love to do here on earth.  If you are really truthful with yourself, would you not like just one time to hit that lotto for a few million dollars?  Oh, you purchase a ticket and you pray a lot.  Lord, if I win that money, I could build You a church, and I could build You this and build You that.  How about it, Lord, could you bless us both with that winning ticket?  Brothers and sisters, if we really wanted to help our Lord Jesus build a church, we could do what He has commanded us to do.  "Go into the fields of Harvest and bring in the lost."  If you want to be first in the Kingdom of God we need to lay down our nets here on earth and follow Him.  We need to go to work building His church, not a brick and mortar building that we call a church.  I know we need GOOD places to go and worship, go where others who love God go, and where the truth is preached from the Bible.  So many churches, earthly churches, want to do the thing that seems to be politically correct.  Man's laws have been changed so that a man can marry a man or a woman can marry a woman, but GOD'S LAWS HAVE NOT CHANGED.  We are to love all people, but we are not to love the sins.  Each day man's law tells us that it is okay to abort a baby, end the life of a child not yet out of the womb.  Follow these rules and it is okay, and you will not be arrested for it.  Killing a child is legal in the United States if done while the child is in the womb.  GOD'S LAW HAS NOT CHANGED.  Whose law do you want to follow?  We need to follow man's law when it comes to some things, but not when man's laws go against GOD'S LAWS AND COMMANDS.

"Above All Else" we need to follow our Lord Jesus and sometimes that will go against man's laws.  Just because something is legal in the eyes of man, does NOT MEAN IT IS LEGAL IN THE EYES OF GOD.  If you want to follow man's laws, why not do it when it comes to paying your taxes?  Do you know our churches would have a lot more money in their checkbooks if people would be putting in the offering plate what they deduct from their taxes?  How about that?  People worry about the wrath of the Internal Revenue Service when they should worry about the Wrath of God.

So let me ask you this today.  Do you want to be first on earth and last when you get to heaven?  Or do you want to walk with Jesus "Above All Else" here on earth so that someday you will be able to sit at His feet in Heaven?  I would love to hear your answer.  Tomorrow, more on "Above All Else."

Now go forth and share your blessings, and "Above All Else," regardless of what it takes, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and walk with Him in all you do.  Love ya.  Please pass on the love of Jesus and my love also.

Pastor Dan

No joke today.  I want to ask you to start your day tomorrow with this little song.

"Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart.

Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart.

Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Holy Spirit, Thou art welcome in my heart.
Omnipotent Father of mercy and grace,
Thou art welcome in my heart."

Be blessed, brothers and sisters.

Monday 11/17/14 Above All Else!

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  I appreciate You, and I want to repent from all my sins.  I need help, but I want to walk daily so people can see that I have Jesus in me.  Thanks for all You do for us.  Thanks for watching over families and friends.  Thanks for protecting this line.  Please, Lord, watch over our nation, and please, Lord,  help us catch these killers that are beheading people.  Please also be in the area where the young man was killed by a police officer.  Help people understand that if that young man had not robbed someone and was not walking down the middle of the street, he would be alive today.  Be with Your people in that town and other towns where some people think that causing a riot is the answer.  Bring peace, Lord, please bring peace to Ferguson, Lord.  Father in Heaven, please bless me with messages as my brain has been running on empty.  Then please help me to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters:  Have I told you lately that I love all of you?  Well, brothers and sisters, I do, but I want to also tell you that "Above All Else," I love Jesus, my Lord and Savior.  Above all else, including my children, my wife, and our ministry team.  "Above All Else."  I am falling deeper and deeper in love with Jesus daily.  I wish I could really tell all of you just how much I do love this man who lives within me, within all of us if we just ask.

Knock, knock --- who's there?  Jesus!  Come on in, Jesus!!!  Over the last few days my brain has been blank.  The pain level is very high, but I can't blame it on that.  I just need prayers, I need covered with prayers.  Today was beautiful.  We received a call this morning from our dear friends Grant and Wanda.  They came over and we sorted out some food and packed some to get a jump start on our packing day.  Then we stopped to eat and had a very simple lunch and then Grant and Wanda put up our Christmas Tree.  Well, sort of straightened it out, as we never take it down.  What a beautiful job they did.  When we ate lunch together we had communion and talked about Jesus and working for Him.  Today I ordered several hundred cans of cranberry sauce and forty turkeys.  I am looking for a good laptop.  Often with the pain I have I am awake during the night.  I might be able to write some in the middle of the night.  The laptop could be new or used.  Just so it works.  Please also keep our son Matthew in your prayers.  It has now been over two years since we heard from him at all.  We pray he is okay and has not run off to get more involved with the Muslims in their religious junk.  Again, I am sorry that I have not been up-to-date with my daily messages.  I know some of you really count on them.  So let me get started.

Monday:  November 17, 2014:  "Above All Else"  (Day One)

1 Kings 22:4 - So he asked Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?"  Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, "I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses."  5 But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the Lord."  (NIV)

I love it here, here we find Jehoshaphat telling the king of Israel "Above All Else," before you do anything, talk it over with the Lord.  Brothers and sisters, we have nothing if we do not run it past the Lord first in prayer and then listen and obey our Lord.  We must learn to "Trust and Obey."

Isaiah 44:6 - "This is what the Lord says -- Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty:  I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.  (NIV)

Here pointed out in Isaiah 44:6 it tells us that the Lord Almighty is the first and the last.  In short, what does it mean?  To me it means God created things, He was the first, here before anything and it also tells us He will be the last.  Someday He will shut this world down.  He will end it all.  When will it happen?  I don't know, but we have a job to do to get the word out before He does come back.

Matthew 5:23 - "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar.  First go and be reconciled to your brother; and then come and offer your gift."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, what is Jesus telling us here?  While we are to give gifts to our Lord and Savior, we are to tithe to the storehouse, God does not want the gift if we are not bringing it to Him with our hearts being pure and clear.  What this is telling me is that God wants us to come to Him clean.  He wants us to pray for our sins to be removed and wants us to "patch things up with our brothers and sisters, and remember here that Jesus is not just talking about our blood brothers and sisters, but our Christian brothers and sisters.  Notice here, and I think this is really neat, God tells us to leave the gift at the altar, don't present it until we reconcile things from our past.  But He does tell us to leave it here, and that will help us not to just walk out on Jesus, but to remember that we need to get back to the altar and down on our knees and get things right with God.

Brothers and sisters, let me close out today by reminding you that we all need to start and end our days, all our days, with Jesus.  The very first thing when we wake up and the very last thing before we nod off, we need to talk to Jesus.  Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and also mend fences that need mending.  Love ya.  And please share my love with others.

Wednesday 11/12/14 What's In a Name? 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Thank You for another day.  Thanks for waking me to serve You another day.  Please help us with our daily walk with You.  Thanks for watching over our family and our friends, and please continue that blessing for us, as we love You for that and appreciate it.  Jesus, thanks for dying for us on the cross.  Thanks for spreading Your blood over me to wash me free of sin.  Send the Holy Spirit over us this day and help us to just sing praises for You in all we do.  Guide and direct our each and every move.  Lord, please help us on this our Salvation Wednesday to seek out the lost and to get them to You to be saved.  Use us, Lord, use me, Lord.  Now, please, Lord, help me with the daily message and then to get it dispatched.  I love You, and in Jesus' Name, I pray this day.  Amen.

Are we not blessed, my dear brothers and sisters?  God has awakened us for another day and now we have a choice.  Do we serve Him or do we serve the devil?  It is a choice we need to make each day.  Brothers and sisters, we cannot serve two masters, and our Lord has given us a choice ... serve Jesus or serve Satan,  walk in the light or walk in the dark ... fight for good or fight for evil.  Help others or only think of yourself.  Yes, lots of choices each day, and I pray we all make the right choice.  So how about it?  What choices will you make this day, this Wednesday, this Salvation Wednesday?  What's In a Name?  And will you choose the right one?  Let's get started.

Salvation Wednesday:  November 12, 2014:  What's In a Name?  (Day Three)

Proverbs 22:1 - A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.  (NIV)

Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.  (NIV)

Did you notice that those heroes of our children are all strong?  Batman, Spiderman, Batgirl and Robin.  One of the strong heroes from the past is gone.  Superman is gone.  Why?  No more phone booths to change in!  Okay, that one was a joke, but think about it.  All those I named were strong.  Our kids look at them for their strength.  We need to teach them at a young age that the only real hero should be our Lord Jesus and He did not get his great name by beating others up.  But when it comes to beating up on evil, Jesus Christ is the strongest, and the Bible tells us that.  Just the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and we who know Him will run to Him.  Sadly, we do not run to Him often enough and sometimes only run to Him when we are in trouble.

As far as our own name, we can make it good or we can make it bad.  Which way do you want your name?  All of these names of the Lord are in the Bible.  How many of them would you welcome into your life?

"The Everlasting Father."  Coming from Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and His name shall be called "The Everlasting Father."

Our Lord God is our Everlasting Father.  He is with us from the time the seed was planted in the womb until He calls us home.  And from the same scripture comes this name of our Lord.

"The Prince of Peace."  This is one of the names that I really love.  Jesus is our Prince of Peace, and at my age, I would love to see peace, real peace.  Are you not tired of picking up the paper and seeing how many people are murdered in the United States?  We need to really get in touch with God through prayer and really pray for peace, peace in our streets, peace in the cities, peace hoping that our black brothers would stop killing each other.  Peace from drivers who think they can drink, text, talk on the phone and drive a 3000 pound or heavier "murder" weapon called a car.  Trust me on this one, a car or truck and even those big rigs in the hands of drivers who are drunk or texting is no different than getting drunk and carrying a firearm.

Here is another name for our Lord from Colossians 1:16.
"For by  him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him."

God created all things and made them for Him.  He decided in His wisdom (another name for God for a later time) after creating all things to make man and put us in charge of it.  Then we tried to run things on our own and we sure have made a mess out of it.  From the time of Adam we fell to sin, man fell to sin.  We went through the days of Noah, and started over, and Man went back to sin.  God sent us Jesus and He died for us, and still man turned to sin.  He made us and He loved us and loves us still and we still sin.  It is time, my dear brothers and sisters, to return to God, to come to Jesus and get our sins covered on this our Salvation Wednesday.  Someday our sweet Jesus will be sent back for all who are saved.  Are you one of those today?  Let's go to Jesus now and ask to be saved.

Dear Father in Heaven, I come to You this day asking for the Free Gift of Salvation that my Jesus died to give me.  Wash me white as snow.  Clear me of sins and help me repent.  Place my name in Heaven's book, the Lamb's Book of Life.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth and serve the Lord with Gladness and share the blessings He has given unto you.  I love ya.  Please pass on my love.

Tuesday 11/11/14 What's In a Name? 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please forgive me of my sins and help me to repent, turn, and walk away from them.  Dear Father in Heaven, please bless this day, our veterans, and also, Lord, our present military.  Please also bless our President and keep him safe as he travels in the summit.  Please, Lord, watch over Burt and Patsy and help Patsy keep working for you even as she lives in a retirement home.  Be with Bob Everhard and his family in the home-going of his wife Peggy.  Be with the members of Young's UM Church in their outreach ministry to children.  Lord, thanks for the food we brought in today for the food pantry.  What a bounty You furnished to us to be given to the needy.  Lord, please help me prepare for the message at the funeral on Friday, and Lord, please  help me with the daily message and to get it dispatched.  Please, Lord, help us find our son Matthew.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  What a wonderful, beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  Grant and I headed out to Mutzabaugh's Food Market to pick up an order for Carry The Light Food Pantry.  We had a load on the ministry trailer, and all worked well.  After the trailer was off-loaded, Grant and Wanda put up our Nativity Scene that they made.  It truly was a blessed day as only our good Lord could bless it.  Please pray for the Everhard family as Wife, Mother, Grandmother Peggy was promoted into Heaven after a long, long time with Alzheimer's disease.  Happy Veterans' Day to all you veterans and thanks for serving our country.  Thanks to my dear wife, Sargent Dolores Cook Lehman, and friend and Army veteran from Vietnam Grant Crocket.  Also my son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Dian Lehman, Navy and also grandson Daniel Lehman, Navy.  On this Veterans' Day, let me get started with the message.

Tuesday:  November 11, 2014:  What's In a Name?  (Day Two)

Luke 10:1 -"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.  2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep.  3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.  He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  4 When he has brought out all h is own, he goes on ahead of them and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.  5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."  6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what He was telling them.  7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.  8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.  9 I am the gate, whoever enters through me will be saved.  He will come in and go out, and find pasture.  10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.  11 I am the Good Shepherd.  The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.  12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep.  So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.  Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.  13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.  14 I am the Good Shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me.  15 Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father and I lay down My life for the sheep."  (NIV)

I typed out a lot of scripture and I pray that you will take time to read it.  I wanted to bring out on this day about our Good Shepherd.  Our Good Shepherd was very willing to lay down His life for us.  We are His sheep and the sheep of His Pastures.  Our Lord Jesus knows each of us, His sheep by name.  He knows not just our Name, but He, our Lord Jesus, knows What's in that name.  Meaning, He knows us s His sheep and He also knows if we have made a good name out of our name or trashed it.  While He loves us all, He really wants us to make a good name by falling in Love with Him.  When we fall in Love with our Lord Jesus and we come to Him, when we sheep come to Him, He will take our name and clean it up.

I want to bring up another name today and it is another name for Jesus, and What's in this name?

Hebrews 13:6 - So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, What can man do to me?"  (NIV)

One thing each of us needs in life is a helper.  There are just some jobs you cannot get done or even start by yourself.  And there is no better helper that we can have than to  have Jesus as a helper.  But you are saying, hey, that was back then when Jesus walked the earth, but what about now?  Look here, at one of my most loved scriptures.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I love Jesus and I pray each day I can fall deeper and deeper in love with Him.  It is the most wonderful feeling to be falling in love all over again with our Lord and Savior.  So What's in a Name?  I will tell you right now you will feel better about yourself and about the name you made for yourself if you indeed have messed up that name if you call on the name of Jesus.  Why not come back here tomorrow, on Salvation Wednesday, as we look more at What's in a Name, and take time to clean ours up.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please share my love with others.

Sunday 11/9/14 What's In a Name?

Dear Father in Heaven:  What a beautiful day You provided for us.  Thanks for all You do for all of us.  I love You, and thanks for loving me, loving us.  Please wash us clean of sins.  Lord, thanks for our church service  here at home today.  Please, Lord, be with President Obama, and I pray first for his soul and for  his salvation if he does not know you one on one.  I pray for his family that they also know You.  Please be with our veterans as we come up on Veterans' Day here in the United States of America.  Thanks for our Nation.  Please protect her, Lord.  I pray for our current military, that You would keep them safe and bring all of them home very soon.  I pray today for worldwide peace and for the return of Jesus.  Until then, help me repent of my sins and keep working hard for You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Happy Sunday, brothers and sisters.  It was a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  A reminder, our food pantry will need help on Saturday, December 6th, as we pick and pack food and then again on Saturday, December 13th, for the big Christmas food distribution.  We are expecting 75 families to come for groceries.  We are picking up a big food order at Mutzabaugh Foods in Perry County on Tuesday, about a $3000.00 order.  As you know, we do not get any food from Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the big food bank that supplies most of the smaller pantries like Carry The Light Ministries.  I would not sign on with them, as they told me we could not pray with people who come for food.  We do receive some help from New Hope Ministries, and we appreciate that very much.  While New Hope is looking for 5000 turkeys for Thanksgiving, we need 71 more for Christmas.  Look, it is getting late and I need to get to the message, "What's In a Name?"

Sunday, November 9, 2014, What's In a Name? (Day One)

Proverbs 3:3 - Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.  4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.  (NIV)

Back when I was but a lad, back when the streets were dirt and the Dead Sea was sick, and growing up in Harrisburg, PA, my dear mother would comfort me or try and comfort me when other kids would call me names, "Four Eyes," Ugly," "Dummy."  When we played pickup sports, I was the kid called last, and others would say "you are stuck with Danny."  My mother would put her arms around me and tell me to tell the other kids "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never harm me."  The truth of the matter is, when people call others names it does hurt them, it really does.  Sometimes I would think a broken bone would be nicer than someone calling me a name.  Name calling could scar someone for life, it really could.

As I look at the scripture above, it tells me this.  If we love God and love others as commanded by our Lord Jesus and we keep that love and faithfulness with us, then we will win a good name in the sight of God and also from man.   I don't know about you, but I really want to have a good name in the sight of the Lord our God.  I really need to try and live up to the name my parents gave me.  "Daniel" or God is my Judge.  When I look back on my younger days, it makes me sick at some of the names I used against others.  And yes, it makes me even sicker at some of the names I called our Lord.  Yes, I cursed and sometimes when others called me names, I called them names back.  Oh, that really helped, didn't it?  I have confessed these sins over to God a long time ago and told a lot of people that I was sorry for the way I treated them.

If you see a "large" person and you refer to them as "fat" they might laugh and smile but deep down it is hurting them.  I know because I was a big person at one time.  Someone once asked me, what should we call someone who is "fat?"  I said, why not call them by their name?  You need to remember that we are all made in the image of God, yes, in the image God we are made.

Over the next few days we are going to be taking a look at What's In a Name and how powerful those names can be.  Is there really power in a name, or would that power be in the person who might carry that name?  That is just one of many questions that we will look into.  Right now my dear wife, the Sargent, just came in and sat down beside me. We are about to go over the message.  God is good, He really is.

Proverbs 18:10 - The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.  (NIV)

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love.

Saturday 11/8/14 Salvation 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please wash me clean of my sins and start me fresh.  Lord, thanks for opening another door for Carry The Light Ministries.  I am excited about this, dear Lord.  Please help us and  may we be of service to You on this mission.  Dear Lord, thanks for helping get the bugs out of the computers over the last two days.  Protect them from the devil's people who put them under attack.  Thanks, Lord, for watching over families and our flocks on this line and beyond.  Please bless Pastor Bob and also Miss Kim and others as we stand beside them in this new outreach of theirs for You.  Please, Lord, help me keep my mind on my writings as I write for You.  Lord, my Christian friend "Ean" needs Your healing hand.  Please help him.  Please, dear Lord, help us locate our son Matthew.  Now, Lord, please help me with a message and also help me to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am sorry about the last two days.  Our computers got really out of line, really messed up.  I guess someone was trying to hack us, I don't know.  We have tech support from "Tech Advantage" who worked hours to get them right.  No email addresses got away from us.  Our computers just plain did not do what they are made to do.  We needed also to renew our agreement with Tech Advantage, which seems to always all at the wrong time.  Anyway, Praise God, all better now.

We are excited to tell you that we are going to help support an outreach of Young's United Methodist Church.  They have started a program to bring children from their elementary schools to spend some time talking about Jesus.  Yes, the children will be released from school, taken to the church for the program, and then brought back to the school.  Release time for God.  I will be giving all of you the details as I get more of them.  Right now on behalf of Carry The Light Ministries, we have pledged some dollars to help purchase fuel for the bus they will be using.  This is exciting, brothers and sisters.  Please pray for Pastor Bob and his flock at Young's Church and also please keep praying for the ministries of Carry The Light Ministries, Inc.  Let me get to the message, Salvation.

Saturday:  November 8, 2014:  Salvation (Day Two)

Brothers and sisters, on Wednesday, our Salvation Wednesday, I was talking to you about Salvation, and of course Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.  I was going to make it just a one-day message; however, that would have shortchanged the message, as I really needed to point out the scriptures where we find out about Salvation.  So let's take a look at the scriptures and talk about them as we go.

Who needs Salvation through Jesus?  As I told you in my words the other day, the only ones who need Salvation through Jesus are those wanting to go to Heaven.  No Jesus, No Heaven.  Know Jesus, Know Heaven.  All scriptures today will be from my New International Version of the Bible (NIV).  I use a study Bible.

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, "There is no one righteous, not even one."

That means no one, not Jews, nor Gentiles, it really means no one.  Here is more proof!

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Again the scriptures tell that ALL fall short, because we are all sinners, yes, even me and you.  And I even put me ahead of you on this one.  When did sin get started?

Romans 5:12 - Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.

The very first man that God created sinned, and since then all men have sinned except one, and His name was/is Jesus.  Did you know you can get paid to sin?  Well, yes, a lot of people have jobs that they get paid for and are just a plain out-and-out sin.  Abortion doctors and nurses get paid, those running the gambling tables get paid, in some states prostitution is legal and the "ladies of the night" (I cleaned that up) get paid.  But let me talk about scripture.  All of us are sinners and sinners get paid.  Look here.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There was a saying years ago that all you ever needed to do in life was "pay taxes and die."  According to the Bible, we only need to pay taxes.  Yes, while we are to give to the government what is due them, we can escape death and have eternal life in Jesus.  PRAISE GOD FOR THAT, WOW, WHAT A BLESSING.

So how do we "sign on" for this free gift from God?

Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Romans 10:13 - For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

What I have just set before you in scripture is sometimes called "Romans Road to Salvation."  I think it is "GOD'S ROAD TO SALVATION, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST."

Is there any other way to get to heaven other than through Jesus Christ?  No!  Not according to the Bible, and the Bible is the Real Book of Truth.  Here is the scripture that tells us that.

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."

Now why was all this done?  This was done because God loves us very much, even though we have sinned over and over again, God has loved us, and He loves those who really hate Him.  Here is proof.  Again I go back to the Bible.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

The scriptures that I have typed out for you are ones that should help you if you have questions about your salvation.  They should also help you as you try and lead others to the feet of Jesus to be saved.  Remember, we are workers for Christ Jesus, we are to harvest the fields for Him, but we cannot save the lost, only Jesus can do that, but we need to bring them in, them meaning the lost.  Let's face it, someone led us to Jesus, someone had to plant that seed of Salvation in Your heart.  Do you remember who?  When I tell you when I close as I do each day, and tell you to go and share your blessings, the very best blessing you can share is that message of Salvation.  It is indeed our best blessing ... Do you agree?

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please share my love to your friends.

Pastor Dan

Here is a riddle that I made up.
What can go up and down at the very same time it can go down and up?

A see-saw!  Think about that one.

Wednesday 11/5/14 Salvation

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a wonderful night's rest, and thanks for waking us this morning.  I love You, Lord, and I apologize to You, my dear Lord, for all the pain I have caused You because of my sins.  Thanks for being there for me through thick and thin.  Lord, on this line that You have trusted me to write, it is Salvation Wednesday, so I ask, Lord, that You point out to us those who have not come unto You and help us to lead them in so that through Jesus they might be saved.  Lord, please keep using Patsy to bring others to You, even as she is almost bedfast in a retirement home.  Lord, I pray for the  ministries that You  have trusted upon Carry The Light Ministries and I pray that we will get our assignments done for You.  Please bless me now with that message of today and then please help me with getting it into the hands that need it, including my own.  In the Loving Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

The day after election day and the very best blessing that is on the day after election day is, it is SALVATION WEDNESDAY.  Yes, election day is always on a Tuesday.  Next blessing, the commercials are done for awhile.  Will someone say PRAISE THE LORD for that?  I have been praying about Salvation a lot lately and just think, the timing is right to do a one-day message about Salvation, unless of course God adds to the assignment.  I do wonder today how many added prayers God handled the last few days before election.  Let me get started with the message.

Salvation Wednesday:  November 5, 2015, Salvation!!

Titus 2:11 - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope -- the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify, for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. (NIV)

Who needs salvation?  Only those not wanting to go to hell, that's who.  How much does salvation cost us?  If you are talking money, or silver, or gold and things like that, it costs us nothing, for Jesus already paid the bill.  No, not with money, silver or gold, He paid it with His very own blood.  So how do we get this free thing I am calling "Salvation?"  You asked for it, it is a gift from God The Father, delivered to us through His Son Jesus Christ.  Let's look at the scripture that God led me to today.

Titus was a convert of Paul, who wrote this passage.  I want you to think about this as we discuss this on a Salvation Wednesday.  Are you a Paul today?  One who is saved, born again, and working to convert others?  Or are you a Titus, one who has been led to the Lord by a "Paul?"  Now let me say this, we could also be a Titus, and more than likely that is what we all are, for we were led to Jesus to be saved by someone.  Did you follow me on that one?  What I am saying is just this, once you receive Christ Jesus as your personal savior, you need to get right to work for Him.

Wait a minute, Pastor Dan, you said the gift of salvation was free, but now you are telling me once I take the free gift, that gift of salvation, I need to get to work for Jesus.  Yes, that is what I am telling you.  It is no trick,if you are not willing to work for Jesus, then you are really not saved, and I can see right now this is not going to be a one-day message, for God wants me to show you folks where all of this is found in the Bible.  But let me go back to the scripture in Titus, in fact, I am going to bring it down so we can stud it a tad.

(NIV)

In Titus 2:11 it tells us that God brings salvation and He has appeared to all men.  Okay, ask yourself this, when we are talking salvation, who appeared to all men?  Jesus did!  Yes, He spent about three dozen years on the earth.  Now in verse 12 we get some instructions.  We are to say NO to ungodliness and worldly passions and to be self-controlled, upright and godly in this present age.  What age would that be?  Do I really need to tell you this?  It would be in the year of our Lord 2014 and beyond, for, come on, say it with me.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Amen!!

In verse 13 it tells us that we are to do these things as we what?  Yes, as we wait upon the Lord to return and The Word tells us that it will be glorious and it tells us that it is Jesus Christ whom we are waiting for.  And then in verse 14 it goes on to tell us, "He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify, for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good."  I really love this scripture, it tells us that Jesus wanted to redeem us and purify us, so He would  have a people of His very own.  And when we take on Jesus as our Savior we should be EAGER, EXCITED, we should WANT TO do what is good.

I will need to get back into this tomorrow.  Salvation is just too important to try and fit it into one writing.  Now will you join with me in a short prayer to get a bath?

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, and I confess I am a sinner and need to be washed clean of sin.  I also need to repent and want You to help me with that.  Please, Lord, hear my prayers.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and walking with the Lord.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love to others.

Tuesday 11/4/14 Anointed 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a great day.  Thanks for blessing us every step of the way.  Thanks for walking with us.  Thanks for a chance to see friends where we voted.  I love You, Lord, and I ask for forgiveness of sins.  Thanks for hearing our prayers about the election, and I know You heard them and answered them even if it might not be the way I wanted.  I will honor Your will, Lord, in all things.  Lord, please be with Phyllis, both of them that follow this line.  Lord, please help me with the message and then please help me to get it dispatched.  In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters:  Please keep praying about the missions and ministries of Carry The Light Ministries.  Dolores and I, along with a lot of others, have been praying about where the Lord might lead us next.  I keep praying and I keep hearing, you need to keep feeding people.  I hear it over and over again, yet I know we must change the way we do this.  At our age, having people stop at our home for food is getting risky for us.  All the details are not worked out.  The only thing I am really sure about is that God just does not want us to stop feeding the needy.  Keep praying, warriors, please keep praying.  The next thing is about my knees and how I have needed surgery.  I have decided to walk it out in faith.  I have decided to wait on the Lord to heal my knees and to do it in His time.  I want to start writing about this soon.  In short, our Lord Jesus took a lot of pain for me and still does.  This has been humbling to me.  And I will, by the Grace of God, make this.  Now let me get to the message, Anointed.

Tuesday:  November 4, 2014:  Anointed (Day Three)

Acts 10:37 - You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached, 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.  (NIV)

Luke 4:18 - "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."  (NIV)

On Sunday I talked about being anointed with oil and how that is done and by whom and under what authority.  Yesterday I talked about how we who are "Christians," followers of Jesus, have been anointed to do His work.  This anointing is not done with oil.  Today in our scripture we see that Jesus Christ was anointed by God the Father and was anointed by the power of The Holy Spirit.

In Acts which was more than likely authored by Luke, it was pointed out how Jesus was anointed and He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil.  We need to remember that as we work for the Lord, if we are going to follow in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus we should be asking Him to guide us to those who need the messages.  And we are to do that without judging, so to speak.  We are to be speaking to those who are "under the power of the devil."  Sometimes I feel like I need to have a big mirror sitting beside me as I am writing these messages to you.  Not once that I can remember did I ever try and tell you that I do not need the messages.  In fact I think a lot of times Jesus is telling me, why don't you just address this to yourself?  If any one of us who works for Jesus, and I want to work for Him daily, thinks they are better or above those they are speaking to, they need to take a step back and re-look at themselves.

WE ARE ALL SINNERS SAVED ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD.  And all God's people said Amen!

Look at the Words of Jesus, recorded in Luke:  "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."  This is Jesus, He is being quoted.  Jesus is telling us how He was anointed by His Heavenly Father.  Listen to these words from Matthew.

Matthew 3:16 - As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.  At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God, descending like a dove and lighting on Him.  17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased."  (NIV)

We can see how God The Father, that would be our Heavenly Father, looked down on His Son Jesus, our Savior, and said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased."  I long to hear my dear Lord Jesus say to me, I am well pleased.  Oh, I have heard Him tell me He loves me, and He has picked me up so often, but I would love to hear Him plant in my heart that He is WELL PLEASED.  As I wind up this short series on Anointed, I think it should be a goal of all of us to "please our Lord and Savior," and work really hard at it.  There are times that we do not please Him, because we might be trying to please someone on earth.  What do you think?  I think each day we should try to do better working for the Lord than the day before.  And when we do mess up, we need to try and rebound quickly and get right back to work for Jesus.  Sort of like riding a horse.  You have heard that term, if you fall off a horse, get right back on and ride it.  After the closing I will tell you about the time I fell off a horse.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, working for the Lord, and loving even those who might not like you one bit.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love to others.

Pastor Dan

The day I fell off the horse:  After years and years of riding motorcycles, someone asked me, "did you ever ride a horse?"  My answer was no.  Then one day I decided to try it.  I knew to get on the left side of the horse, and I put my foot in the little thing that holds your foot, my left  foot, then holding onto the saddle horn, I went to put my leg up over the horse.  All at once the horse started to run, and run it did.  My head was just a few inches from the ground, and I was screaming and screaming.  It was not pretty.  Then it happened, and then it happened.  This nice lady came out of K-Mart and unplugged that horse.

Monday 11/3/14 Anointed 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins and wrongdoings and help me repent.  Thank You for a beautiful day.  Please, Lord, comfort the family my friend Tom talked about.  Please, Lord, be with those running for office tomorrow that most respect You and Your word.  Please keep the voting places safe.  Please help me with the message and then help me to dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, tomorrow, November 4, 2014, is election day.  Please remember this, if you do not vote, you added one to the other person's side.  Yes, Dolores and I will go out and vote, and we vote who lines up best to the Word of God.  We vote life, marriage between a man and a woman.  Yes, we support Tom Corbett for Governor, because he supports life.  As I have told you before, when I asked him if I could pray for him and anoint him with oil, he welcomed that, and it happened three times on the Capitol steps.  Your vote is up to you, of course, but I really do ask you to consider VOTING LIFE!!!  Stephen Bloom, running for state house in our area is also a pro-life family man and he also welcomed my anointing of oil right here at our home.  I was asked to pray for a family whose son took his life.  Please, without me putting down a name, pray for them.

Monday:  November 3, 2014:  Anointed (Day Two)

1 John 2:20 - But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.  21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know the truth.  22 Who is the liar?  It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ.  Such a man is the anti-Christ -- he denies the Father and the Son.  23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.  (NIV)

1 John 2:7 - As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you.  But as His anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit -- Just as it has taught you, remain in Him.  (NIV)

As we talk about anointed, or anointing or being anointed by someone with oil, I wanted to bring out that there is an anointing that does not mean that you must be anointed with oil.

Today's scripture is a letter written to Christians, not one Christian, but to all Christians which would include us today.  We do agree that the Bible, the Scriptures, are the inspired word of God, and are as good and true today as ever, right?  Now if you agree to that and you are indeed a Christian, a true Christian, a follower of Jesus, then you have been anointed by the Holy One, through the power of the Holy Spirit.  And why are you anointed?  YOU ARE ANOINTED TO DO GOD'S WORK.  This scripture also talks about the non-Christian being the anti-Christ.  John also talks about the anti-Christ already having been here.  Think about it, how many non-Christians have fit the bill of the anti-Christ?  How many non-believers have come and gone?  How many have you run into over the years?  A true non-believer.  Look at this.

1 John 2:18 - Dear children, this is the last hour and as you have heard that the anti-Christ is coming, even how many anti-Christs have come.  This is how we know it is the hour.  (NIV)

So what am I saying here?  I am saying that when we accept Jesus, when we really get serious about being "BORN AGAIN," when we shout out for Jesus to come into our hearts and we do our very, very best to live for him, then we have been anointed by Him through the power, the mighty power of the Holy Spirit to do His work.  Listen, Christian brothers and sisters, we have a job to do, if we believe in The Word and we have truly taken on Jesus as our personal Savior, then rise up, Christians, and get ready to fight, get ready to do battle in God's Army.  Onward, Christian Soldiers.  Okay, let's march it out.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

Christ the royal Master leads against the foe.
Forward into battle -- see His banners go!

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

Like a mighty army moves the Church of God,
brothers, we are treading where the Saints have trod;
We are not divided, all one body we.
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
but the Church of Jesus constant will remain;
Gates of hell can never 'gainst that Church prevail.
We have Christ's own promise, which can never fail.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward then ye people!  Join our happy throng;
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King;
This through countless ages men and angels sing.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.  (Just one more time.)

Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war,
with the Cross of Jesus going on before.

I pray you are already anointed by Jesus and have accepted His work assignment laid out for you.  If not, we need to address that.  Let us do that tomorrow.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love and please get out and vote.

Sunday 11/2/14 Anointed

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You, and I really appreciate You.  Each day I want to grow nearer to You and I ask You to  help me with this.  Lord, I pray for peace, world-wide peace, Lord.  Help me repent from my sins, and help me please to turn and walk away from them.  Dear Father, please watch over our dear friend Ean and his parents.  Lord, restore Ean so that someday he might be a pastor for You.  Lord, please bless me with another message and then get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, yesterday we had a special visitor that stopped by to see us.  It was our dear friend Ean Garman and his parents.  I am asking all of you to pray for him.

Sunday:  November 2, 2014:  Anointed (Day One)

Psalm 23:5 - You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

This verse from Psalms is one of the most comforting scriptures in the Bible and is used at many funerals to comfort family.  David in Psalm 23 is talking about the Lord being his Shepherd.  In verse 5 he is giving glory to God for preparing a table for him even while David was in the presence of his enemies.  He also talks about being anointed with oil and how his cup is overflowing.

It is sad that we do not give God the glory for the things we have.  It is sad sometimes how we might even grumble about our lives.  Well, yesterday my dear friend Ean Garman stopped in with his parents.  Ean is 15 and was very concerned about both Dolores and me and has been praying for us.  Those of you who know Ean know he is a "special needs" young man who really loves us and many others.  The Garmans are on the line and they know of the pain I have been talking about.  Our dear friend wanted to pray for us.  He told us he would love to be a pastor.  Over the years I have prayed for Ean and have anointed him with oil according to the scriptures.  Yesterday I took time while talking with him to show him how to anoint others with oil.  I had him place the anointing oil on his finger and form a cross on my forehead.  He anointed me for healing in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.

James 5:14 - Is any one of you sick?  He should call on the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  (NIV)

In James 5:14/15 we see the authority given to the elders of the church to pray over those who are sick and to anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  I am an elder of the church, yes, Carry The Light Ministries is a church, but let's go beyond that.  As Christians, are we not elders of the "Church of Jesus Christ?"  Does that not give us the authority through our Lord Jesus Christ to anoint people and pray over them for healing?  I was thrilled that our dear friend Ean wants to be a pastor, and he has a good start for a pastor is someone who cares for others, and this young man really cares for others.  So Ean is going to get a start, and I am really happy for him and really want to be a part of it.  I have seen so often the joy that comes from people who we call "special" and this joy passed on to others.

Ean was so concerned about us yesterday and knew we hurt that as he hugged us he did not want to hurt us more.

I want to talk more this week about being anointed, and it might not be in the way you might think.  Again, please pray for Ean and his family.

Now go forth and share your blessings and know this.  Jesus, Ean, and I love ya.  And by all means, pass on that love.

Pastor Dan
