Friday Dec. 30, 2011 Year Ending Message

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him." (NIV)

Good last Friday in December and welcome to the last message of this year from this writer. I can think of no better way to end a year than with the scripture that God planted on my mind today. God loves us so much that He gave His Son to save us from our own sins.

And I for one really need His saving grace daily. As I look back over the year I must say that it was a good year. I married my granddaughter Brittney, we lost Kathleen Sansoni, the wife of Tom Sansoni, the second couple I married. I married a few other couples and did a few funerals and I got to anoint with oil a lot of people and pray with them, even when I was in my big old Santa suit. Dolores and I prayed with the Cumberland County Chiefs of Police. Again this year we got to pray on the steps of the Capitol of Pennsylvania on the first Saturday in May at a support the troops ralley and we are invited back for 2012.

We watched as five small twisters came down our little street, and major flooding hit our area including the property where Museum Buses were stored. A major part of the Museum Fleet of buses went under water including four of the five that Dolores and I donated to them. The good news on the flood, the buses that were restored are being restored again, the ones that needed salvaged are being salvaged, and NO ONE WAS HURT. And while I read of so many storms that kill so many people and/or destroy their homes, the twisters did not do anything at our home except bring down trees and smash a couple of our cars. And the museum had a lot of work to do, but again, no one was hurt, and all has or will work out.

As for the ministry, it has grown and grown and grown. Joining Dolores, Pam (long time ministry partner Pamela Sue Bower) and myself on the ministry team are Grant and Wanda Crockett who have been a truly wonderful addition to Carry The Light Ministry operational team. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful team, and yes, we have many, many other supporters of the ministry, and more so the food pantry part of the ministry.

What all does this Ministry do?

First, we started by singing gospel music, most often done at retirement and/or nursing homes. We still do this, although we have cut the schedule back over the years. We have been at this since 1993, and we have never, ever charged for a concert.

Next, I started this email prayer and message line. Started in the middle of one of my sleepless nights with a Native American lady whom I never met, named "Lone Wolf." I was looking for Christian people to pray with. I have been writing for over 15 years and God gives me fresh things daily. Folks, we have seen, thanks be to God, for He receives all the glory, many people healed we have prayed for, and I am talking people who were on the death bed. GOD IS GOOD AND AGAIN ALL GLORY TO HIM FOR THE HEALING, none of it for this line or me.

Along the line Dolores and I started taking in dogs that were seniors and people turned in to the rescue units or just brought them to us when they no longer could take care of them. We have had as high as 18 dogs running the house at a time, and right now we have twelve. By the way, they are little ones. I have held many, many of them as they passed away, or were so sick I had to have them laid to rest by the vet, and I held them also. Once we lost five in a week, due to that bad dog food. That hurt really bad.

We do Santa, but only at places where we can pray with people, and tell them about Jesus. We collect new and good used toys to give to children, both with money or poor as long as we can tell them about Jesus.

I also pastor The Bridges of Bent Creek, where Dolores plays the piano. We are so blessed to have been able to call the Bridges home for almost eight years now. We have Sunday church services each week, and many, many special services. The Bridges in turn support the other outreaches of Carry The Light Ministries. Some of you know, others do not, Carry The Light Ministries holds a church charter and it is posted at the Bridges, so we are officially Carry The Light Ministries Church at The Bridges.

And the Ministry has our beloved "Food Pantry" and it has grown, trust me, it has grown. And God is good, we have a lot of workers, for this and more so at the holiday seasons. Those who have been here to help are amazed at what goes out of our food pantry and we could not do this without the support of a whole lot of people. Today we have seven families coming for food, and this just two weeks after our big distrubution for Christmas. And folks, you cannot out-give the Lord, for this year, the more we gave away, the more we had coming in, and right now, in fact today we are sorting food and putting on the shelves.

Carry The Light Ministries is incorporated under the rules of 501c3 federal laws, meaning you can deduct what you have given to the ministry off your taxes if you need those deductions.

We have been blessed with a big family, and while they all have problems in their own lives, each one support the efforts of our ministries, giving in the most part of their times and talents over the years. Please keep our family in your prayers. Dolores and I are getting older, we walk slower, but walk it with the Lord... On January 2nd, Dolores will be 76, but don't tell this sweet chick I told you, but if you wish you could send her a card... 16 Dewalt Drive... Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050. For me, she rocked the cradle when she got me, I am just 70. We were married on May 30, 1982.

And then we have all of you, all of you, my dear, dear brothers and sisters. You are wonderful, you are great supporters of the ministries of Carry The Light. I have no idea how many receive the daily writings anymore, I don't keep score. I also do not know if it is forwarded and I do not ask for that... But you are always welcome to do that, forward as you like, whatever I write, for it is from God and it is free for all.
Now I have gone on long enough, bringing you up to date... now it is your turn, how was your past year?

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for blessing this line all these years, and please, Lord, keep doing the same, for I want to work for You till the day You call me home... Bless the ministries of Carry The Light, and bless all the readers of this line, truly my Christian Brothers and Sisters. Touch each of them, Lord, and thanks for this past year... For You truly love the world and gave us Jesus... Thanks... In Jesus Name, Amen.

And now, for the last time this year... Please go forth and share your blessings... I love ya,   Pastor Dan. And I pray that you will all have a  -----------------------------------
VERY HAPPY AND BLESSED 2012

Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 How Many Magi?

Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him." After they had heard the king they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary and they bowed down and worshiped Him. They they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.

Good Thursday afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters. May I start today by just telling all of you that I love you very much. I just need to do that more often, as my dear brothers and sisters, we need to have love for each other and we need to tell each other just that.

Prayers today for families, schools and also churches. As you might recall we put churches on our weekly prayer list last week. If your church needs prayer, please let me know. Our church needs prayer! So please pray for Carry The Light Ministries, church at The Bridges.

Please pray for Burt, who fell, and for Glenn and Marie Garner, for healing and also a praise for Glenn and Marie are getting better...

Prayers for Carol Harris for healing. Prayers for our son Matthew, and please storm heaven on this. I just now hung up from talking to him and he sounds like he is at the bottom.

Matthew 2:7 - Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him." 9 After they had heard the king they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary and they bowed down and worshiped Him. They they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. (NIV)

So what do we learn from the scriptures today? Yesterday we learned that the kings did not go to the manger and in fact the kings did not deliver the gifts at all... Now I asked a question yesterday, "how many Magi delivered the gifts?" And the answer according to the Bible is, well the Bible does not tell us how many Magi delivered the gifts. We know this much, it was more than one, because, well, because it refers to them as ''they" and not he, but the word "they" does not tell us how many. We do know this, that they delivered three gifts, so thinking would tell us that maybe three magi or wise men delivered the gifts. However, a few years back, and I don't remember the complete story and I will find this out again, but friends of ours took us to their church to see a Christmas service where they talked about that "fourth" wise man. I must confess I don't remember the gift that he took to the child. So today I will make this statement, according to the Bible we are just not sure how many took those three gifts to Jesus... The gifts were gold, frankincense and myrrh, according to King James Version of the Bible. My NIV study bible refers to frankincense as just incense.

So let's talk about the star. I would think the star went up over the manger when Jesus was born, but what the Bible tells us is the magi saw the star in the east, and then they followed the star which led them to the place where Jesus was. So we know we have a star that gave great light, and again I would think that star went up at the birth. The neat part that the Bible brings out, is once the magi saw the star it "went ahead of them" and then it stopped when it was over the place where Jesus was. So now we have confirmed how many gifts, and cannot confirm just how many magi delivered the gifts. One more thing to look at today... Where was Jesus, because so many talk about the gifts and see them given to Jesus at the manger... Back to the Bible...

Matthew 2:11 - On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary and they bowed down and worshiped Him. They they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. (NIV)

So now we know that Mary and The Child, Jesus, was moved to another location, and while thus far in our scripture it does not say at what house or whose home, we do know that Jesus left that stable behind the inn. We also read this in Luke the other day, when Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day He had been moved for this and that is also when He was named "Jesus".

Now while all this is great and we really need to get it right, the most important things we need to get and really get it straight on this Christmas message in this writer's viewpoint are these things...

A very special child was born to a virgin named Mary. The Baby was placed in the womb of Mary by the power of The Holy Spirit.

Joseph understood this and took good care of Mary and also Jesus after the birth. The birth was in a manger in a stable showing me that the birth was simple and thus showing the world, a very simple birth is ok. And the most important thing...

The Baby born, Jesus, was born to die for you and for me for the forgiveness of our sins and to pave a way for us to get into Heaven, He was sent to us to set examples of the way we should live and also to save the whole world, not just you and me. As we go into more messages in the coming weeks we will see these things unfold to us, and folks, they WILL BE FROM THE BIBLE.

Tomorrow a special New Years Message... I don't have a clue what it will be, because the Lord has not given it to me yet... but I am sure of one thing, it will be good... For God does not send out JUNK...

Dear Father in Heaven, if it is one thing I learned from You is when You are involved it is always good, if we just listen to You and follow You in all we do, it would be great, but Lord we confess we do slip, we fall and we need help, Your help to get back up. Help us each day, dear Lord. Please review our prayer list, Lord, and honor our requests according to Your will for us. And Lord, You have given us another day, and I pray we can please You by living a life You like. We need Your help doing just that. Help us please. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Salvation Wed. Dec. 28, 2011

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him."

Good afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters. I know I was going to take the week off, but this is just too good to take off. Wednesday is Salvation Wednesday on this line and the day we pray for those who are unsaved and try and seek them out for the healing of Salvation done only by Jesus. Prayers also for the "BORN AGAIN" believers as they try and bring in the lost. Again I point out, we who work for Jesus cannot save a soul, we can only lead them to Jesus, then it is between Jesus and each person. Please keep praying for or son Matthew, for Glenn who is receiving treatment at Health South. Also here is an update on my right hand, as I told you I had lost feeling in it. I was in for the nerve study and tests this morning, and was surprised when they gave me the results when finished. The tests showed that I have crushed the nerves in my right hand, not just your normal crushed cover but the nerves are more than likely broken off. I was given the example of a piece of wire that has a cover on it and many strands of wire inside it. The tech and the doctor said that it would be likened to the wire cover being crushed and some of the wire strands broken off. I see the surgeon in two weeks and in the meantime, I would love your prayers. If Jesus can heal the blind, drive out demons, raise up the dead, heal the cancer I had, I know that He can knit my nerves back together.

Matthew 2:1 - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." (NIV)

Yesterday I closed out with this question. "Tomorrow we are going to look at those kings who brought the gifts. How many were there? Hint, I am working out of the Bible and not the song book." Ok, the "tomorrow" in the question is today. So how many kings brought the gifts to Jesus? The answer is NONE, kings did not bring the gifts, Magi or wise men brought them, and now I support that with scripture. That is not hard, just look up a few lines at

Matthew 2:1: Magi from the east came to Jerusalem. (NIV)

Matthew 2:1: Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem. (Gideons)

Matthew 2:1:  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem. (King James)

Ok, yesterday we established that there was only one King at the manager and that Jesus, of course. Today we established that these so called kings referred to in the song, and remember I said we were working out of the Bible and not a song book, were not kings at all, but Magi or wise men. So now, how many magi or wise men brought the gifts and how many gifts were there and what were they? And how about this star we hear so much about, was there a star, is that in the Bible? Here is where to find those answers.
Matthew 2:1/12

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the message of today, and thanks for the safe trip to York and back today for the tests. Lord, today I pray for the unsaved and that You would help us to lead the lost to You. Dear Lord, please honor our health requests according to Your will and not ours. Thanks, Lord, for another nice day, and thanks for letting us be part of it. Lord, may we honor You for giving to us this day and may we live to please You each day... In the name of Jesus I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings. I really love you folks and should be early tomorrow... Love ya,  Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Dec. 27, 2011

On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived. When the time of their purification according to the law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, (As it is written in the Law of the Lord. "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord.") and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord, "a pair of doves or two young pigeons."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, I was going to take the week off, but God has changed up my mind a tad on that. So I want to move on with the story. I pray all of you had a very Merry Christmas, and that God was good to you and blessed you well.

We were so blessed. Some of our family came to church on Christmas Eve, and after the service we did a gift exchange. Our Ministry Team, Dolores, Pam, Grant, Wanda, and myself were also together at church on Christmas Eve. We also exchanged a few nice things. Grant baked us pies. Other of our children called us on Christmas day. We got to share our Christmas dinner with great friends. Then Dolores and I spent a quiet day, trying to catch up some much needed rest.

Please pray for Vicki who wants to try some Jell shots in her knee. Also pray for Kathy who has cancer and is with Hospice. Her stepmother is at the Bridges and her dad comes each week to be with his wife in church. Also please keep praying for Wanda's parents, her dad, Glenn, is in rehab and her mother is recovering at home. Both have had bad cases of brocades and more. Pray also for Grant who is having back and knee problems. Our son Matthew needs daily prayers, he is in deep depression.

Luke 2:21 - On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived. 22 When the time of their purification according to the law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, 23 (As it is written in the Law of the Lord. "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord.") 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord, "a pair of doves or two young pigeons." (NIV)

So now we know that this tiny baby, born in a stable because of there being no room at the Inn, had left that area and went to have their special child circumcised according to the law of Moses. So I want you to notice that up to this point, shepherds from their fields nearby and the angels were the only ones mentioned in the Bible who came to the manger. I would think that all the ones in the inn, might have stopped by, but again that is just me reading that into the story. I want you to take note of who was not at the manger, and that was kings bringing gifts. The only King at the manger was the King of all kings, the King of the Jews, and He was the baby in the manger. Tomorrow we are going to look at those kings who brought the gifts. How many were there? Hint, I am working out of the Bible and not the song book.

Dear Father in Heaven, Please help me more and more with the details of the messages, so that I can write in a way people understand them. Help me with spelling and grammar and all the little signs I need to put in, signs like ;:',"?!, etc. Lord, please keep blessing this line, and Lord, hear our prayers and answer according to Your will for us. And Lord, thanks for all You do for us, and thanks for the food pantry and all who help and bless them and also all who come for food. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and loving on Jesus and your family. Love ya,  Pastor Dan.

Christmas Eve. 2011

Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters. It is indeed Christmas Eve, and I want to look back to two different Christmases Eve.

First looking back to Christmas Eve 2006, a two pound Yorkshire Terrier with back legs so bad she walks on her front legs was abandoned/lost on the streets of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was picked up and taken to a shelter, and the shelter transferred her to the Yorkie Rescue and we went out and brought her home, along with two other Yorkies. Her name, "Merry Christmas Eve." She is so small she can lay across the palm of your hand. She still walks on her front legs. The other two dogs have since passed away, as they had cancer. (we have rescued dogs with problems, they come here till they go home to heaven.) We currently have twelve, all small dogs. (Because of our age, we have decided to not take anymore, or so we keep saying.) This is a mission of Dolores and myself.

The second Christmas Eve I want to tell you about was Christmas Eve 1990. It was a cold day as I recall but sunny and back then I played Santa, and when the streets were dry, I did it on a big Honda Goldwing motorcycle, with a trailer on the back. I would just go to street corners and give out candy and such back then as I would do this on my way home from work. At the time I was dual employed working as Coordinator of Transportation for Central Dauphin School District and owning a Texaco Service station which my son, Keith, managed while I was at the school job. With the schools closed on Christmas Eve, I got on that big cycle early in the morning and took it to work at my service station where we planned to work till noon. At noon we closed the station, and I took the employees out to lunch and gave them some gifts. They went home and I went back to the station and changed into my big red Santa suit, I had a big, big Santa hat that fit over my helmet, and I would glue it on. Anyway, I locked up and was heading to the bank with the receipts of the morning and then to K-Mart on route 22 in Colonial Park to hand out some candy... I never made it. About a block and a half before my bank and K-Mart, I had stopped in a line of traffic, I was in the left lane, it was 1:25 PM. The right lane beside me was moving, but the traffic was backed up waiting to turn into K-Mart for that last minute shopping I guess.

Then it happened, I heard a loud crash behind me and then the car that was still coming forward was struck hard by another vehicle hit the back of the little trailer I was pulling. I had both feet on the ground as I was stopped, I was holding onto the handbrake and also the clutch. I mean it hit hard, I was thrown up and through the windshield and landed on the street. My bike went down, of course. The way I landed my right arm had gone around the front side of the rear tire on a pickup truck ahead of me. I never hit the truck. The driver of the truck heard the crash and did not move. Had he, I would have had a crushed arm...

Anyway, when I woke lying on the street, I found none of the moving cars had hit me, GOD IS SO GOOD. Then I heard these little kids in a big Oldsmobile that hit me, and driven by their grandfather, crying and yelling "Pap just killed Santa Claus." I told the man to tell his grandkids I would be ok for the big ride, and was then loaded into an ambulance for the ride to the local hospital. My assistant at the school was driving the fire rescue truck and had my big bike taken to the Fire House. I went to the hospital. My Assistant, Bob Coburn, called my wife and stayed with her at the hospital long into the evening. I was discharged from the hospital about 10.00 PM in my stocking feet as my feet had swollen so bad I could not get my boots back on. I asked Dolores to take me to the fire house, I wanted to see my cycle. It sure was beat up, but it started, so then I made this big mistake, I went to the car, got my helmet and Dolores said you are not, and I said yes, I am... 26 miles later, no brakes on the bike, I pulled into my garage, and could not get off the bike. Dolores came and put down the stand and helped me off. I said, I just made the biggest dumb thing I ever did in my life..

Now here is the neat part. I was already born again, and I could hear the Lord talking to me on the street, something about coming with Him... My back and legs took it hard and I turned the service station over to Keith February 1992, saying I cannot do this anymore. After one of several back operations I was in rehab at Cumberland Crossings in the swimming pool, and joking said, if you get me feeling better I will come here and sing... I never did this in my life, solo sing that is, and they took me up on it. I was singing in a church choir at the time and a young lady, Pam Bower, and I sang together. I asked her if she wanted to sing at some retirement homes, and she did. We practiced and practiced and then we went out singing, that was in 1993, and on this New Years eve, this same young lady will stand beside me, with Dolores at the piano for some of the numbers and we will still sing. Our name,  Carry The Light.

In 1995 I retired from the district, studied to get ordained and, started preaching and soon opened a food pantry along with Dolores and Pam.

I was 49 at the time of the crash, I am now 70, it happened 21 years ago. I plan on working for Jesus till the day He calls me home...

That accident was the best blessing I ever had. It still hurts, my back pain never, ever stops hurting, not even after five major back operations, but God gets me up each day to serve Him. GOD IS GOOD, PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM.

When I think I cannot carry the pain one more day, I remember how he took nails for me... I know that hurt... but what hurts Him more was/is my sins.

By the way, I still ride a cycle once in a while. It has a side car...

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and to all a good night.

Happy Birthday Jesus...

I love You...

Friday Dec. 23, 2011 The Journey 2011-37

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the manger. When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in their heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and a beauty here in Central Pennsylvania, home of the Southern Location of the North Pole. Friday and the day we pray for all the workers in God's fields, and folks, each and every one of us needs to be on that list as we all should be workers in His fields. Today is Communion Day on the line.

Yesterday I asked for prayers for Dolores and myself as we headed out to Lawnton, the last public school we have been going to. Yes, we leave the message of the Lord. Our bus had some mechanical issues so we headed out in our pickup, also red and lettered for Christmas. We first went to the Antique Auto Museum located on 161 Museum Road, Hershey, Pa. They gather food and toys for us at Christmas, and again they filled their pickup and we loaded it into ours. It was the THIRD full load we took out this year. Folks, if you like old cars, buses and toy trains, try and get down between the holidays. It is beautiful and if you go, mention our name, Carry The Light Ministries, as we want to keep this partnership going. Ok, on to Lawnton School. We pulled up outside and called them to let them know we arrived, and they put the children into the gym on the floor. They had K through 3 in the gym for us. Then it happened, the NEW principal came out to greet us and the first thing out of her mouth was you cannot say anything about Jesus this year. I heard you tell the Christmas story and that is against separation of church and state. After nicely telling her that is not in the constitution of the United States, I went on to tell her if we cannot talk about Jesus then we don't do the job. Now the kids were waiting and I am not going to put them in the middle.

So I asked her if I could sing one song about Jesus and she after some talking said ok, one song and no preaching. So we went in and had a good time with the kids as always, and at the end I said, folks, this is what makes Christmas, and we sang Away in the Manger. The kids sang along and most teachers sort of did not. The aids who had us there did sing. The Principal said we could not talk at all next year or even sing about Jesus... SO WE TOLD THEM, SORRY WE WILL NOT BE BACK. If I can't tell the kids about Jesus when I do Santa, we do not take the job, we have been invited to be paid at Malls, we have turned them down... Thanks for your prayers... Folks, we must get Jesus back into our schools...

The Journey 2011 Day 37... Luke 2:15 - When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in their heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. (NIV)

Remember now, my name is Jack, and I am the donkey that transported Mary and this special child to the manger. Am I a blessed donkey or what? Boy, it is getting busy here in the stable, these shepherds have come and they looked and they were amazed, first they said nothing, I heard them praying then and thanking God for this special child. After the shepherds starting talking again, I heard them talking about those angels and how bright they were, and then before the angels left the shepherds, they said this, and I heard the shepherds saying it over and over again... "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."

Now folks, it is time we jump ahead in time a little bit... I am out of the donkey suit and back to Pastor Dan... You know our Lord Jesus was born on Christmas day, He was named later but we have known what it was. This baby was born to die... As we all are going to leave the earth someday, and I pray all of you are saved and go to heaven, and that all of you work to tell others. Right now I want to take you ahead to that last supper, where we are going to commune with each other...

Dear Lord, please forgive me of my sins and please forgive all those who are asking as they take communion. Lord, bless the bread as Your body and the fruit of the vine as your blood... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)

Take now your bread, the body of Jesus, and eat giving thanks to God... Thank You Jesus, I love You Jesus...

Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood which is poured out for you." (NIV)

Drink now the fruit of the vine, the blood of Jesus... Thank You Jesus for shedding Your blood for me. Amen.

Tomorrow, a special message from Dan... What Happened on Christmas Eve 1990 that changed the life of an old man.

Be blessed folks, and share those blessings... I love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thur. Dec. 22, 2011 The Journey 2011-36

And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ The Lord".

Good Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole on this first full day of winter. Today is Families and Schools day on this prayer line, and today. Also starting today we are going to add in prayer for Churches. Dolores and I will be Santa and Mrs. Claus in a public school at 1.00 PM and this is the last public school we have. We, of course, ham it up with the kids, but we also, near the end of the program, get serious and tell them about why we have Christmas. We do it by singing Away in the Manger, and talking about the birthday, even singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Other prayer requests, for the family of Curtis Reed. For Vicki (a different Vicki, folks) who has cancer. And remember as we pray for Families, please remember to pray for the family of God.

TOMORROW: On line communion! Always a highlight for me and I pray you will join in. So bring your bread and fruit of the vine to the computer with you tomorrow.

Reminder, I am going to take a few days off next week, so please do not worry if you don't see the message daily. I might do a few. I never did this before, only missing when I was in the hospital.

The Journey 2011 Day 36: Luke 2:7 - And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ The Lord". (NIV)

Joy to the World, The Lord has come. Yes, folks, I am running ahead of Christmas day but need to get the message to you. As we left yesterday I was in the stable, remember now, I am Jack, the donkey, who just transported Mary to the little town of Bethlehem in the city of David. Joseph bedded down Mary and then put me in the stable, and just after that a child was born and this child was wrapped in cloths and put in a manager. Now this manger was made from a food trough, a place where hay was placed for us animals. We animals were happy to give up our food trough for this. The stable got quiet, really quiet, and there was no sound from that new born child. I heard Joseph and Mary talking about this child being so special, I had heard that Mary was a virgin and this birth was really special for so many reasons, and I heard that this writer is going to talk more about that later. But for now, let's keep watching. Wow, it is getting brighter and brighter. Now we know today that this child was named Jesus, but back then when I was watching from my place in the stable, I just knew the child was special... After a while shepherds starting showing up to see this child. I heard them talking about this Angel of the Lord telling them about this birth and how this baby is Christ The Lord. Wow, now that is so special. I heard the shepherds talking about how the Angel of the Lord scared them and then he, the angel, told them "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy, and that will be for all the people". Then I got to thinking, I just hauled, transported, took this very special child for His first ride on a donkey. This is so exciting, this is the first human birth I got to see. Yes, I have seen donkeys born in a stable, but this birth was so special. Wow, you should see the people coming out of the inn, I guess the excitement is catching up with them. I know the Bible today that you folks read does not talk about people coming from the inn, but think about it. With those angels coming around and glowing and bright and the shepherds coming in from the fields and the talking would wake them up, would you not want to come and watch? Wow, I just heard they are going to name the child Jesus. Well, folks, I am going to watch some more and I will tell you more tomorrow... Thanks for listening to me, and remember to check the back of my family when you see a donkey and look for the cross on my back. See you tomorrow.

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for the message and thanks for this very special child we call Jesus. Thank You, Father, for all You do for us. Thanks, Lord, for watching over us and for furnishing us all those things we need each day. Thanks for the air we breathe, the food we eat and the clothes we wear... Please, Lord, according to Your will for us, honor our prayer requests, and Lord, protect us today as we tell the Christmas story in a public school. Keep us safe on the roads today. In the name of Jesus, I ask You look after families, not just on this line but all families. I pray that You look after our schools, and Lord, I welcome You into Lawnton School in Lawnton to be with us. And Lord, I pray for churches and that they all get back to the Bible for their teaching. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now and serve the Lord and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wed. Dec. 21, 2011 The Journey 2011-35

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters, the day we pray for the unsaved... GOOD MORNING. I pray that all of you are doing well this day. Please pray for the family of Curtis Reed as God gave him the perfect healing and called him home. I was bedside with Curtis on Monday and had prayer with him. Even though he has been in church with me for two years and I talk salvation each week, I asked him this question... If God calls, do you have Jesus locked into your heart? Yes, was the answer. One of the hardest things to do, that MUST BE DONE, is to ask someone who is in very bad health if they know the Lord Jesus, and I don't mean know of Him, I mean know Him. Be brave, warriors, be brave, it is not just the work of pastors, it is up to all of us who are saved to be sure others are saved. It shows that you love a person enough to care where they go. The gentlemen who was in the accident in Dayton Ohio is named Brent. Please, folks, pray for our son Matthew Lehman, he is in deep, deep depression.

Today is the last day of fall, enjoy. Winter starts tomorrow.

The Journey 2011-Day 35: Luke 2:6 - While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (NIV)

Wow, I am getting tired, you know me, I am Jack the donkey and I have Mary on my back and Joseph has been walking me. We rested a few times and Joseph saw I had water to drink, but move out we did... Then we arrived, and I heard them talking about this little town called Bethlehem. We came to this inn and Joseph put down my lead and came and took Mary off my back and they went into the inn. Soon after I saw Joseph and Mary coming out, I expected to see Joseph come back out to put me in the stable, but both of them, what has happened... Then I heard them talk about there not being any room left at the inn. Someday maybe years and years from now there will be a way to get a message ahead and save a room, but for now, gosh, no room, what is going to happen? The next thing I knew Mary was put on my back again and I was led around the back of the inn and to a stable. I wonder where Joseph will put Mary after he puts me in that stable. Joseph is taking Mary off my back, and oh my gosh, he is taking her into the stable. You know along the way on this trip I heard people talking about how special this child was to be, I am getting excited. Joseph took Mary into the inn and then came to get me, and I had this, well, front row seat... Those poor camels were too big to get in, but the horses and cows and a few pigs and chickens were in that stable, and then Joseph emptied out one of the food bins and put some fresh straw in it and then some cloths... Then, and then it happened, yes, it happened, it really did... What happened... see you tomorrow...

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for the messages of this week and thanks for this very special time of the year. Please review our prayer list and honor our prayer requests per your will... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Last night the Heinze family, owners of Allenberry Playhouse, where we do Santa and Mrs. Claus, had their annual Christmas party. It was great, a nice family party, and after it was at the end, door prizes given out, and ALL employees got a bonus check. (We are not employees.) Santa was called front again. This time to close out the evening. A call for salvation, a prayer and Silent Night to close... Folks, Allenberry are good people and put on good shows.

Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011 The Journey 2011-33

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because He belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

Good Tuesday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Tuesday and the day we pray for a cure for the diseases, diseases like cancer, liver diseases, kidneys, etc. Also pray for Burt Emig who had a bad fall, and for a man from Dayton, Ohio (no name given), injured in a car crash. Pray for Glenn, still in the hospital, and for Curtis Reed, and Doris Lively, two of our flock at the Bridges.

Update on the food pantry. After having so many no shows, God has pointed us to eight additional families who needed help. Also one of the ones who forgot, remember and came in yesterday for their food. The only thing we had that would spoil were potatoes and yesterday all of them were given away to the employees at The Bridges. All else will be good to go as we have freezers and our food pantry is of course year round. So many people that you see getting the headlines because they support a food bank once a year forget that EVEN THE POOR AND HUNGRY EAT YEAR ROUND, so Carry The Light Ministries Food Pantry is open year round, we are on call for the needy. GOD IS GOOD, ALL GLORY TO HIM.

The Journey 2011 Day 33: Luke 2:4 - So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because He belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (NIV)

And the trip begins... Come on, we are putting the sleigh away and we are going to look at this trip from the eyes of "Jack". Jack is a donkey, and for right now, I am going to be "Jack" the Donkey. While I think I might have told the story last year from the eyes of the donkey, I do not look back to things a year ago, I go with what God gives me fresh each day.

Hi, my name is Jack and I am a donkey and I want you to notice a few things about me, before we start this long trip. First of all check out my back and the back of all other of my relatives, we have a cross on our backs, yes, if you look closely you will find that on a light colored donkey, they have a dark stripe down the back from the base of the neck to the top of the tail, and a stripe across the shoulders, thus forming a cross. The other thing to note is that we donkeys are sure footed, and provide a really nice ride compared to a horse or one of those big camels. By the way, I would never "walk a mile" for a camel, but I have walked many miles with camels. (A little humor from a donkey, folks.)

Anyway, folks, after old Caesar (not a salad dressing) put out the call for all to be taxed, I mean counted, I had this happen. It was cold, and Joseph came out to the stable (a barn) and got me, and while he put a lead over my head, and a blanket on my back, he talked to me. "Jack," we are going to a big trip, and I need you to carry Mary and she is near the time to deliver a baby, and I need you to be smooth. I am thinking, hey, Joseph, you know I am smooth and I will take care of this wonderful lady for you. So Joseph led me up to the house, and then left my lead hang, for he just knew I would not run away. I love Joseph, he feeds me and gives me water and cleans my bed, he is a really neat man, I can see why Mary loves him so much. I don't know Mary really well yet, but I think till this trip is over I will. Oh, hold on folks, here comes Joseph out of the house with Mary. Wow, she is "big"; how will she ever get across me? Then Joseph in a most caring way picked up Mary and put her on my back sideways. I think the present term is called side saddle, but I did not have a saddle on, just a blanket. Oh my gosh, I thought, I must be smooth or this wonderful lady will fall off, I hope she hold onto my hair on the back of my neck, or the top of the cross. Do you folks want to know a secret, I heard that Mary is going to have a baby who will be special, and that is all I am going to tell you right now, but this little clue, this is the very first time this baby gets a ride on a donkey and the first time, he is on the cross. Think of that folks... And we are moving out... Well, as we go we are meeting up with others, camels, horses, other donkeys, and yes, even people. Ok, got to run, no, I mean that is all for today... Please comeback tomorrow as we head to that little town of, do you know the name of that little town... It is in the Bible and also a song...

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the words You are giving me, and Lord, we ask today that You look over our prayer requests and as always, Your will to be done. Thanks, Lord, for saving us, and thanks, Lord, for all of our needs that You have supplied for all of us... In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings, and please come back tomorrow as we head out some more with Jack... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday Dec. 19, 2011 The Journey 2011-32

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And everyone went to his own town to register.

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, the President of the United States, and also for our veterans, current military, police, firefighters, and all others who work to keep us healthy and safe. Please keep praying for Glenn. Also please pray for Helen Thomas. Dolores also needs your prayers. Pray also for Ruby, Curtis, and Eleanor.

I would like to thank all those who came and work so hard on our distribution day this past Saturday. Something very different happened this year. While we knew our numbers were going to go well over last year's, as last year we were expecting 60 families to come for groceries, this year we were expecting nearly a hundred families. It was a sight to behold, we had food packed out for 100 families and a large crew to pack and then again to load cars. We had prayer warriors on the driveway and loaders. Each family who came received a really nice turkey, hotdogs, a lot of bread, cakes, pies, goodies and five bags of groceries. All families were called and told the time and date of distribution. These folks are those who need food, are to have very little. Thirty families did not show up for their food, THIRTY families who were to have needed food, who had very little. Near the end of our set hours three folks starting to call those who did not come. THEY FORGOT! Answer a question for me, how can a parent with children who are said to have not enough to eat forget to come for free groceries, and I mean groceries? While not a thing will spoil and will be used as the food bank is open year round, and I would think as people remember they will call to come and get their food, I just don't understand it. One thing, we did find some others in need and already turned some of those "left overs" over to others in need. Thanks again for all those who support the efforts of Carry The Light Ministries and our outreaches. You are wonderful... Again we push on with one really busy week. Other than today, Mrs. Claus and old Santa will be doing doubles this week until the 23rd. Then the Santa suits go away until next year.

The Journey 2011 Day 32: Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. (NIV)

So today we start our big trip toward the birth of our Lord Jesus on Christmas. I am going to try and complete this part of the journey by Thursday, as many who receive the message at a work site might have Friday off.

Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken. Now let's get this straight. Caesar Augustus issued a decree that all will report so they know where you are so you can pay your taxes. It also tells us in the Bible that everyone went to his own town to register. So let's look at this on today's market, and as you know, we still have census takers and do census and why, again, so folks know where you are living so you can be placed on the tax rolls. What if this were to happen today, let's look at it just here in the United States of America...

Today, President Obama issues a decree that a census should be taken, and everyone MUST go to his own town to register. Now remember, folks, this would be your town of birth. (Maybe if this order went out we would find out for sure where our President was born) (did I say that?) But think of it, I would need to head to Harrisburg, Pa, not a far trip, my wife would be going to Camp Hill, Pa. Now we could do that in just two hours out and back unless, unless, unless we had to travel by donkey and foot. Now I have friends on this line that would need to travel from Florida to Harrisburg just to sign up to pay your taxes. Gosh, do donkeys fly? Now it is different today; are we not happy about that? Not much today is the same as back then, not much at all, I really can only think of one thing that is the same, and I will show you that one in the Bible...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (NIV)

Yes, while all things have changed, our Lord Jesus, the one who we will be talking about all this week has not changed, not one bit. Chances are we might change even before the day is over, but our Lord will not. I pray that our changes will be for good, growing deeper and deeper in love with Jesus. And for those who are unsaved, I pray will become saved.

Tomorrow I am going to become Jack, Jack is a donkey and I would love to tell you this trip from the eyes of the donkey, the animal who transported Mary on this journey. Please come back while I make a "donkey" out of myself. Now, now, think good things.

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, I really Love You and give thanks for another day on this earth, and doing Your work. Please honor our prayer requests as per Your will in our lives. Lord, get us ready for this season and beyond and help us all remember that You and You alone are the reason for ALL seasons. Lord, thanks for all the help You sent to us to help with the food, and Lord, please help those who really need the food to call us so we can reset a time for them to come... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings... Love ya... Pastor Dan.

Friday Dec 16 2011 "I Was Hungry"

Then the King will say to those on His right, "Come; you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom, prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat."

Please pray for Glenn who is back in the hospital. Pray also for Dolores, she had a very bad fall yesterday. Landed face down on a very hard floor. She is up and going, but still needs prayers.

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. And it is a good morning and it looks like the weather is going to be good for Carry The Light Ministries' big event on Saturday. Please today and tomorrow pray for our food distribution to go well. We still need some help and we need all helpers to be here by 12.30 PM so we can have prayer time and instructions. If you arrive and the driveway is full of those coming early, please park on the front lawn. Do not park on the neighbors' lawns or along the street.

Matthew 25:34 - Then the King will say to those on His right, "Come; you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom, prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." (NIV)

I wanted to bring this scripture out today so you can see that when we feed the hungry and help them we are doing it as if to Jesus. In the words of Jesus: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat."

We still need a couple of prayer warriors, people who can pray with others, we need people to help with traffic, people to load cars, people to load the loaders (I will explain this one tomorrow.) We are going to try and load out four, maybe five cars at a time. If all come who have said they are coming for food, we will have at this point 97 families coming for food. For those who were here last year helping we had 60 scheduled and I think most showed up. I have alerted the police so they might come by and check on traffic and help if needed.

I did not alert any news people. If you can come please help us, we cannot have too many for this mission. If we have extra people, some can sort food that is coming in or just rotate inside to get warm... AND YES, PLEASE DRESS WARM. New this year, we have a toilet on location.

Ok, Friday is the day we pray for those working in the fields of Harvest... Let's pray and I hope to see you on Saturday.

Please call me if you are coming ... 717 991 0754, my cell phone... location 16 Dewalt Drive Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050.

Dear Father in Heaven, You have blessed the ministry well, You have blessed us well. The food is ready and we are ready to serve the hungry. Lord, help us with this mission and help us have leftovers so the food pantry can keep going forward. Lord, as You know, we are not just a Christmas group, we are a food pantry charged by You to feed the hungry... Bless the mission, Lord... and please touch and heal Glenn.... In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

See some of you tomorrow, and please share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thursday Dec. 15, 2011 The Journey 2011-31

And you my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him. To give His people the knowledge of salvation through forgiveness of their sins. Because of the tender mercy of our God by which the rising sun will come to us from Heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death to guide our feet into the path of peace.

Good Thursday Morning my dear brothers and sisters... I received the a note in my e-mail today, as one we prayed for yesterday HAS BEEN HEALED and went onto Heaven (the note will be at the end of the message).

Please pray today for families and schools as it is indeed families and schools day on the line. Thank you to those who are coming on Saturday afternoon (12.30 PM) to our home to help with our food distribution. We still could use more help.

Please keep the family of Bob Beard in your prayers as his body is laid to rest.. His soul, is already in heaven with that of Phil Ladouceur Sr.

The Journey 2011 Day 31 Luke 1:76 - And you my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him. 77 To give His people the knowledge of salvation through forgiveness of their sins. 78 Because of the tender mercy of our God by which the rising sun will come to us from Heaven 79 to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death to guide our feet into the path of peace. (NIV)

You might have noticed that my messages are a tad shorter lately. (Who said "Praise the Lord"?) The truth is my right hand is hard for me to use in typing and now my left arm is starting to go numb. Need those prayers, folks.

The scriptures that God has pointed me to today is from Luke and some of what is known as Zechariah's song. The child mentioned in the scripture is John, son of Zechariah and Elizabeth. And as you can see, John (John the Baptist) will be a prophet of our Lord God. We will study more about John and his going ahead of Jesus after the Christmas season and the Birth of Jesus. In these scriptures we get a look at just why John was sent ahead of Jesus. In Luke 1:77 it tells us that John is going to give people Knowledge of His, meaning the Lord's people, of salvation through forgiveness of their sins.

It would have been nice to live back in the day when Jesus walked the face of the earth, and maybe even got to walk with Him, but think about where we are today. We have the knowledge of all that has happened before us. We know, through our faith and reading the Bible all about Jesus and what He did for each of us who do believe and how He forgives us of our sins when we ask, and we also get the advantage of "having indoor plumbing" (that one woke you up). But it was not all a joke, folks, you think of our world today and we have an advantage of seeing just how Jesus lived and if we love Him we also have the advantage of inviting Him into our lives and more so into our hearts to live. We have been given an option; we can choose to love Jesus or hate Him or anything in between. You know where I stand on this. I pray you do also. John was a very special child, filled by the Holy Spirit right from birth and walked ahead of Jesus telling others Jesus is coming. The sooner we get our children to the feet of Jesus to be saved, the better!! And folks, on today's market a lot of children are leading their parents to the Lord.

Dear Father in Heaven, I need Your touch today, as I do daily, and I ask that You keep blessing this line and heal my hand and mind to get this work done for You. Be with those on our prayer list and heal them according to Your will, bless families and our schools this day, and Lord, please don't let anyone keep You out of our schools, not even our people in Washington. Our schools need You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth and share those blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan. 717 991 0754 cell phone.

Thank you for your kind words..
There was a miracle... My Dad received his final
healing as he was called home to Jesus our Lord..
God is good

Salvation Wednesday on the Journey 2011-30

"I am the way and the truth and the life! No one comes to the Father except through me."

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters... Yes, Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray for those who might now be saved and also for those who are saved to be following God's commandment found in Mark 16:15.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

As I studied my home course to be ordained years ago, one of the things I learned is that ALL MESSAGES SHOULD LEAD TO SALVATION. So if you wonder why I talk about it so much, are you ready for this, if you wonder why I talk about Salvation so much, maybe, just maybe, the message is aimed at you. Here is the reason for that. If you are saved, really saved, then you know why we who are saved talk about it so much and we who preach, teach, sing, etc., about Jesus know we are to do this and are charged by Jesus to get it done. If you don't understand that, go back up a few lines and read Mark 16:15 again.

So as we take a side trip today from our Journey to the Birth of Christ, let me make this statement...

The Journey 2011 Day 30 John 14:6 - "I am the way and the truth and the life! No one comes to the Father except through me."

Who needs salvation through Jesus Christ? Only those who want to go to heaven after they die. And folks, there is only one other place to spend eternal life. Your choice, Heaven or Hell!!! So if you do not care about going to heaven, know this fact... I CARE IF YOU GO TO HEAVEN, I REALLY DO. If I did not care about you and your salvation, I would not be writing this e-mail to you. Why do I care? Because God has told me to love my neighbors, and folks, like it or not, you are my neighbor according to God. While only those in what we might call a neighborhood get to look at old buses and a few other things this Born Again old man likes, rest assured that I love all of you. But wait a minute, you are not number one in my life, JESUS IS. And brothers and sisters, when we go to bed we need to ask God to forgive us, and when we wake up we need to ask God to forgive us, and if we sin during the day and we know we have sinned we should stop and pray right then and there for offending God.

So today again I ask you to pray with me a prayer of Salvation and get your day off to a good start. But wait, only pray if you are doing it in faith, don't just pray words. But before we start on that, here are a few prayer requests that have come in.

Dan

I ask your prayer group for literally a miracle...
You know I don’t ask for much from you, but I know you
all are powerful prayer warriors.. My Dad
needs to be healed of his pulmonary fibrosis.. He is near the end of his life and
that the family accepts God’s plan for them and my Dad (Phil Sr.).
He is at home hospice with 20 liters of oxygen and right now is still coherent and
responsive...
Thanks for your prayers in advance..
Phil Ladouceur

Tuesday Dec. 13, 2011 The Journey 2011-29

Meanwhile, the people waited for Zechariah and wondered why he stayed so long in the temple. When he came out he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.

... On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, but his mother spoke up and said, "No!" He is to be called John. They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name." Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name will be John." Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed and he began to speak, praising God.

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a great day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. An update on Carry The Light Ministries Food Pantry. Everything is ready for our really big distribution event on Saturday afternoon except for two things. The turkeys, all 100 of them, are to be delivered on Friday, and of course we need a lot of helpers to be here on Saturday. We start loading cars at 1.00 PM, but would like the crew of helpers to arrive at 12.30 PM so to set up and have a group prayer. DRESS WARM!! I am trying to get enough help so outside helpers will be able to come in and get their bodies a little warmer.

We need prayer warriors, four or more. We need loaders, six or more. We need people to load the food for the loaders, four or more. And we need a couple of people to help with traffic. When you arrive, you may park on the front lawn. We need to keep the circle driveway open. If you can't come, please pray and pray and pray for this big event. (I will have hot dogs on for those who get hungry.)

Other prayer requests. For the family of Robert (Bob Square Wheels) Beard who is now at home with Jesus. Also for Vicki who once again has a full plate of health issues. Please storm heaven with those prayers.

Special Announcement: I will have a Christmas Eve and Christmas message, also services at the Bridges. (you are welcome to come).

Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion 6.30 PM, Christmas Morning, service in song. 10.00 AM. THEN I AM TAKING A WEEK OFF FROM WRITING, NO MESSAGES FROM December 26 to December 31. Then back at it, on January 1, 2012.

The Journey 2011 Day 29 Luke 1:21 - Meanwhile, the people waited for Zechariah and wondered why he stayed so long in the temple. 22 When he came out he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.

... Luke 1:59 - On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, 60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No!" He is to be called John. 61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name." 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name will be John." 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed and he began to speak, praising God. (NIV)

Here in our scriptures of today we find that God closed the mouth of Zechariah after the angel of the Lord had talked to him and given him instructions about his son, that God was going to bless him with. My Bible footnotes don't speak of this event, but for sure the Bible does and I think it is very important event. After all if it was not important would it be in the Bible?

So God takes the voice of Zechariah and stills it, until such time as Zechariah named his son John. And there was never a doubt to old Zechariah as to the name. This makes me wonder a tad and we can all address this in our own light. All of us are sinners, all of us, so I must wonder does our cancer, and I am healed of cancer, but was it caused by the fact that I did not always live for God and even now I find that I slip and fall. Do our bones ache because we broke commandments and rules? Have you ever had anything like this in your life? Think about it, I know I am going to review some of my life and some of the things I have messed up on big time.
Now we also see in the case of Zechariah, that God turned it around for him, and I know for a fact that I have had things wrong with me and God, and God alone gets the glory for turning them around. Even today as we head off to work, school, play, or whatever, we need to step out in the light of God and work really hard to do His work and spread the good, good news of Jesus and His salvation for us.

We are to tell others this good news, and that is a command from God... And I want you to really think about this. You say you can't pray with people about this, and tell people the good news. You can't talk to people about The Word and how you get saved through Jesus. WHAT IF, WHAT IF, NO ONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU??? If people down through time did not hear The Word and share it where would we be today? I would love to hear from you on this one. Maybe Jesus did not shut down your voice, but what did He shut down or do that affected you? Let's give the day back to Jesus by LIVING FOR HIM. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, Please forgive me, forgive us of our sins, hear our prayers and respond according to Your will and help us this day live for You and to share our blessings You have nourished us with. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and if you can help us on Saturday in the afternoon, please email me or call me 717 991 0754. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

PS. When I was a child I sang in the church choir, did that till I was a teenager, then I got a girl friend, a car and starting working on Sundays. I gave up the singing. My dear mamma said, if you do not use your voice for Jesus, He just might take it away. It happened before I was out of school, I had to go three times to have things cut off my vocal cords, as I sounded like a foghorn. Then when I started singing for Jesus again, He gave me my voice back... True story, folks... be blessed. Pastor Dan

Monday Dec. 12, 2011 The Journey 2011-28

When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relations heard that the Lord had shown great mercy, and they shared her joy. On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, but his mother spoke up and said, "No!" He is to be called John.

Good Monday Morning from the Southern Location of the North Pole. It is a cold morning, but our home is warm and my heart is full of warmth and joy coming from the Holy Spirit. Monday and the day we pray for our leaders and veterans, our current military, police, firefighters, ambulance crews, and all those who work hard to keep us safe. I think it is time we should pray also for our trash collectors, those snow plow drivers, and others who are in our lives even daily who we often forget. Back in the days of my youth, and living in the city of Harrisburg, we had trash collectors and also garbage collectors. My first job was as a garbage collector, it was a good job, I made 50 bucks a week and all I could eat (just kidding, folks.)

The Journey 2011 Day 28 Luke 1:57 - When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relations heard that the Lord had shown great mercy, and they shared her joy. 59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, 60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No!" He is to be called John.

You do remember last week in our lesson when the Angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah, and told him that he would father a child with his wife Elizabeth, both who were up in years. They were told by the angel that the child would be special and he was to be named John. Once again we see why God found favor in Elizabeth and blessed her with a son, and once again she was faithful to God and even if others wanted to name the child after his dad, they were obedient to God and named the boy John.

Are you a one-hour-a-week Christian? How about you today, are you obedient to God, do you follow the commandments and rules laid down by our Lord, or do you just go to church one hour a week? I want you to really look into the mirror deeply today, folks, look real hard into that mirror and talk to God about your life. I mean have a heart to heart with God. Would you take time to listen to messages that come right to your heart from God? You do understand that God speaks to your heart and not necessarily through your ears. A person who cannot hear a thing when it comes to noise in his ears can hear God speak to his heart. Try going someplace quiet and talk to God and then listen for Him to talk to you.

Dear Father in Heaven, help us to listen when You speak, forgive us of our sins and watch over us and all those on our prayer list. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, please pray for my right hand, as it has no feeling and it is hard to type. Also my left arm is starting to give me that same problem. Thanks, now go forth sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Friday Dec. 9, 2011 The Journey 2011-27

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end. "How will this be?" Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Friday and the day we pray for all those who work the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus. Please pray for Carry The Light Ministries as we receive more and more names who need help with food. As you know, our food pantry is open year round, but once a year, just before Christmas we have a really big distribution day. We are now over 90 families coming on December 17th in the afternoon. This means 90 cars will need to be loaded, 90 families will need prayed for, and 90 folks will need to sign in. All this without messing up traffic too badly on the street in front of our home. HELP IS NEEDED. We need at least one more lady prayer warrior and two more men to pray with the men. More would be helpful. We need people to work the end of the driveway, people to help keep folks in their cars till they get up to the load position, and then we should have at least 7 loaders and then we need extras to rotate people out of the cold. It is a great afternoon which really goes fast. Please let me know if you can come. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yesterday our ministry team went to see the play at Allenberry Playhouse and it was WONDERFUL. While it was full of fun and music, there was no doubt in anyone's mind what Christmas was about. They also talked in the play not just about the birth of Christ, but why, which is of course to forgive us of our sins and for our salvation.

The Journey 2011 Day 27 Luke 1:32 - He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end. "How will this be?" Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" (NIV)

Ok, off we go, into the wild blue yonder in a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer and driven by one really handsome, trim Santa (my story, remember.) Anyway, as we look down from our seat in the sleigh we look at the Virgin Mary talking to Gabriel. How would you have handled this? Back when I was just coming into my early teens, my brother "got a girl into trouble." Ok, that is what it was called back then. I remember my brother bringing this girl into our home and they stood in front of my mamma and my brother said to her... G---- is going to have a baby, and I am the dad, and then he ran up to his bedroom and left this girl standing there with mamma. The next thing out of my mamma's mouth was, Danny "go to your room." And then she put her arms around this girl and said, it's ok, it will be ok, we will help you. At sixteen years of age, they got married. But now try standing in front of your family and telling them, I am going to have a baby, and I am a virgin and the baby is going to be King of all kings. And then it is off to your boyfriend's home and you are going to tell him... Hi Joseph, I am going to have a baby. I want you to think about this. Here God found favor in Mary and I am sure in Joseph also because Joseph is going to be the earthly father of our Lord.

Maybe a quick look back at Noah and his family and how God found favor in them, and how people must have mocked them as they built a boat and it never rained. So after talking to the angel Gabriel and finding out all the information Mary took on the job.

Luke 1:38 - "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered, "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. (NIV)

So with that statement, Mary took on the job of carrying the Lord in her womb, planted there by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now Mary wanted to tell of this event so she headed to the home of Zechariah and Elizabeth where Mary wanted to share this news with Elizabeth. Now remember that Elizabeth, even up in years, was in the motherly way with John whom we refer to has John The Baptist.

Now this event occurred in the sixth month of the carrying of John by Elizabeth. This is a very important event in my eyes.

Luke 1:41 - When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the BABY LEAPED IN HER WOMB, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (NIV)

So some want to abort those babies, and even in the last term. This baby, John, leaped in his mothers womb. Men, maybe you can look back to the days before your first child was born and you were so excited and you would lay your hand on your wife's belly and wait to feel the baby kick. Ok, so now Elizabeth and Zechariah know but what about this man named Joseph who was pledged to be married to Mary? Let's look in on him for a minute before we stop today.

Matthew 1:18 - This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. His mother, Mary, was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. (NIV)

So now Joseph is on board and he has been given this really important job for Jesus. Joseph was given the job of raising Jesus in those tender years. Men, are you stepping up to take care of your own children here on earth today? There are so many men who do not take care of their children, even if the family split. MEN, YOU HAVE A JOB TO PAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN, IT IS NOT UP TO THE TAXPAYERS TO SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY. Get a job and work your tail off the couch, put away your gameboy and pay for those kids you made. And ladies, dare I say it this way. Until you and that man say I do to each other, say "I don't" to him!!!! WILL SOMEONE SAY AMEN ON THAT ONE.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me, forgive us, for our sins, and Lord, start us fresh today. Lord, help us deal with this day and all that needs done. Lord, help us to get it done and for You. It is a busy weekend, God, and we need Your help. Work out, please, what we have been praying about. And help us to be ready and help others to get ready for Your return. Please honor our prayer requests per your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth and have a great day, share your love of God, talk to Him a lot, and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
