Friday Dec. 23, 2011 The Journey 2011-37
Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and a beauty here in Central Pennsylvania, home of the Southern Location of the North Pole. Friday and the day we pray for all the workers in God's fields, and folks, each and every one of us needs to be on that list as we all should be workers in His fields. Today is Communion Day on the line.
Yesterday I asked for prayers for Dolores and myself as we headed out to Lawnton, the last public school we have been going to. Yes, we leave the message of the Lord. Our bus had some mechanical issues so we headed out in our pickup, also red and lettered for Christmas. We first went to the Antique Auto Museum located on 161 Museum Road, Hershey, Pa. They gather food and toys for us at Christmas, and again they filled their pickup and we loaded it into ours. It was the THIRD full load we took out this year. Folks, if you like old cars, buses and toy trains, try and get down between the holidays. It is beautiful and if you go, mention our name, Carry The Light Ministries, as we want to keep this partnership going. Ok, on to Lawnton School. We pulled up outside and called them to let them know we arrived, and they put the children into the gym on the floor. They had K through 3 in the gym for us. Then it happened, the NEW principal came out to greet us and the first thing out of her mouth was you cannot say anything about Jesus this year. I heard you tell the Christmas story and that is against separation of church and state. After nicely telling her that is not in the constitution of the United States, I went on to tell her if we cannot talk about Jesus then we don't do the job. Now the kids were waiting and I am not going to put them in the middle.
So I asked her if I could sing one song about Jesus and she after some talking said ok, one song and no preaching. So we went in and had a good time with the kids as always, and at the end I said, folks, this is what makes Christmas, and we sang Away in the Manger. The kids sang along and most teachers sort of did not. The aids who had us there did sing. The Principal said we could not talk at all next year or even sing about Jesus... SO WE TOLD THEM, SORRY WE WILL NOT BE BACK. If I can't tell the kids about Jesus when I do Santa, we do not take the job, we have been invited to be paid at Malls, we have turned them down... Thanks for your prayers... Folks, we must get Jesus back into our schools...
The Journey 2011 Day 37... Luke 2:15 - When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in their heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. (NIV)
Remember now, my name is Jack, and I am the donkey that transported Mary and this special child to the manger. Am I a blessed donkey or what? Boy, it is getting busy here in the stable, these shepherds have come and they looked and they were amazed, first they said nothing, I heard them praying then and thanking God for this special child. After the shepherds starting talking again, I heard them talking about those angels and how bright they were, and then before the angels left the shepherds, they said this, and I heard the shepherds saying it over and over again... "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."
Now folks, it is time we jump ahead in time a little bit... I am out of the donkey suit and back to Pastor Dan... You know our Lord Jesus was born on Christmas day, He was named later but we have known what it was. This baby was born to die... As we all are going to leave the earth someday, and I pray all of you are saved and go to heaven, and that all of you work to tell others. Right now I want to take you ahead to that last supper, where we are going to commune with each other...
Dear Lord, please forgive me of my sins and please forgive all those who are asking as they take communion. Lord, bless the bread as Your body and the fruit of the vine as your blood... In Jesus' name, Amen.
Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me." (NIV)
Take now your bread, the body of Jesus, and eat giving thanks to God... Thank You Jesus, I love You Jesus...
Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood which is poured out for you." (NIV)
Drink now the fruit of the vine, the blood of Jesus... Thank You Jesus for shedding Your blood for me. Amen.
Tomorrow, a special message from Dan... What Happened on Christmas Eve 1990 that changed the life of an old man.
Be blessed folks, and share those blessings... I love ya, Pastor Dan.

Thur. Dec. 22, 2011 The Journey 2011-36
Good Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole on this first full day of winter. Today is Families and Schools day on this prayer line, and today. Also starting today we are going to add in prayer for Churches. Dolores and I will be Santa and Mrs. Claus in a public school at 1.00 PM and this is the last public school we have. We, of course, ham it up with the kids, but we also, near the end of the program, get serious and tell them about why we have Christmas. We do it by singing Away in the Manger, and talking about the birthday, even singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Other prayer requests, for the family of Curtis Reed. For Vicki (a different Vicki, folks) who has cancer. And remember as we pray for Families, please remember to pray for the family of God.
TOMORROW: On line communion! Always a highlight for me and I pray you will join in. So bring your bread and fruit of the vine to the computer with you tomorrow.
Reminder, I am going to take a few days off next week, so please do not worry if you don't see the message daily. I might do a few. I never did this before, only missing when I was in the hospital.
The Journey 2011 Day 36: Luke 2:7 - And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ The Lord". (NIV)
Joy to the World, The Lord has come. Yes, folks, I am running ahead of Christmas day but need to get the message to you. As we left yesterday I was in the stable, remember now, I am Jack, the donkey, who just transported Mary to the little town of Bethlehem in the city of David. Joseph bedded down Mary and then put me in the stable, and just after that a child was born and this child was wrapped in cloths and put in a manager. Now this manger was made from a food trough, a place where hay was placed for us animals. We animals were happy to give up our food trough for this. The stable got quiet, really quiet, and there was no sound from that new born child. I heard Joseph and Mary talking about this child being so special, I had heard that Mary was a virgin and this birth was really special for so many reasons, and I heard that this writer is going to talk more about that later. But for now, let's keep watching. Wow, it is getting brighter and brighter. Now we know today that this child was named Jesus, but back then when I was watching from my place in the stable, I just knew the child was special... After a while shepherds starting showing up to see this child. I heard them talking about this Angel of the Lord telling them about this birth and how this baby is Christ The Lord. Wow, now that is so special. I heard the shepherds talking about how the Angel of the Lord scared them and then he, the angel, told them "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy, and that will be for all the people". Then I got to thinking, I just hauled, transported, took this very special child for His first ride on a donkey. This is so exciting, this is the first human birth I got to see. Yes, I have seen donkeys born in a stable, but this birth was so special. Wow, you should see the people coming out of the inn, I guess the excitement is catching up with them. I know the Bible today that you folks read does not talk about people coming from the inn, but think about it. With those angels coming around and glowing and bright and the shepherds coming in from the fields and the talking would wake them up, would you not want to come and watch? Wow, I just heard they are going to name the child Jesus. Well, folks, I am going to watch some more and I will tell you more tomorrow... Thanks for listening to me, and remember to check the back of my family when you see a donkey and look for the cross on my back. See you tomorrow.
Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for the message and thanks for this very special child we call Jesus. Thank You, Father, for all You do for us. Thanks, Lord, for watching over us and for furnishing us all those things we need each day. Thanks for the air we breathe, the food we eat and the clothes we wear... Please, Lord, according to Your will for us, honor our prayer requests, and Lord, protect us today as we tell the Christmas story in a public school. Keep us safe on the roads today. In the name of Jesus, I ask You look after families, not just on this line but all families. I pray that You look after our schools, and Lord, I welcome You into Lawnton School in Lawnton to be with us. And Lord, I pray for churches and that they all get back to the Bible for their teaching. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Go forth now and serve the Lord and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wed. Dec. 21, 2011 The Journey 2011-35
Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters, the day we pray for the unsaved... GOOD MORNING. I pray that all of you are doing well this day. Please pray for the family of Curtis Reed as God gave him the perfect healing and called him home. I was bedside with Curtis on Monday and had prayer with him. Even though he has been in church with me for two years and I talk salvation each week, I asked him this question... If God calls, do you have Jesus locked into your heart? Yes, was the answer. One of the hardest things to do, that MUST BE DONE, is to ask someone who is in very bad health if they know the Lord Jesus, and I don't mean know of Him, I mean know Him. Be brave, warriors, be brave, it is not just the work of pastors, it is up to all of us who are saved to be sure others are saved. It shows that you love a person enough to care where they go. The gentlemen who was in the accident in Dayton Ohio is named Brent. Please, folks, pray for our son Matthew Lehman, he is in deep, deep depression.
Today is the last day of fall, enjoy. Winter starts tomorrow.
The Journey 2011-Day 35: Luke 2:6 - While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (NIV)
Wow, I am getting tired, you know me, I am Jack the donkey and I have Mary on my back and Joseph has been walking me. We rested a few times and Joseph saw I had water to drink, but move out we did... Then we arrived, and I heard them talking about this little town called Bethlehem. We came to this inn and Joseph put down my lead and came and took Mary off my back and they went into the inn. Soon after I saw Joseph and Mary coming out, I expected to see Joseph come back out to put me in the stable, but both of them, what has happened... Then I heard them talk about there not being any room left at the inn. Someday maybe years and years from now there will be a way to get a message ahead and save a room, but for now, gosh, no room, what is going to happen? The next thing I knew Mary was put on my back again and I was led around the back of the inn and to a stable. I wonder where Joseph will put Mary after he puts me in that stable. Joseph is taking Mary off my back, and oh my gosh, he is taking her into the stable. You know along the way on this trip I heard people talking about how special this child was to be, I am getting excited. Joseph took Mary into the inn and then came to get me, and I had this, well, front row seat... Those poor camels were too big to get in, but the horses and cows and a few pigs and chickens were in that stable, and then Joseph emptied out one of the food bins and put some fresh straw in it and then some cloths... Then, and then it happened, yes, it happened, it really did... What happened... see you tomorrow...
Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for the messages of this week and thanks for this very special time of the year. Please review our prayer list and honor our prayer requests per your will... In Jesus' name, Amen.
Last night the Heinze family, owners of Allenberry Playhouse, where we do Santa and Mrs. Claus, had their annual Christmas party. It was great, a nice family party, and after it was at the end, door prizes given out, and ALL employees got a bonus check. (We are not employees.) Santa was called front again. This time to close out the evening. A call for salvation, a prayer and Silent Night to close... Folks, Allenberry are good people and put on good shows.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011 The Journey 2011-33
Good Tuesday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Tuesday and the day we pray for a cure for the diseases, diseases like cancer, liver diseases, kidneys, etc. Also pray for Burt Emig who had a bad fall, and for a man from Dayton, Ohio (no name given), injured in a car crash. Pray for Glenn, still in the hospital, and for Curtis Reed, and Doris Lively, two of our flock at the Bridges.
Update on the food pantry. After having so many no shows, God has pointed us to eight additional families who needed help. Also one of the ones who forgot, remember and came in yesterday for their food. The only thing we had that would spoil were potatoes and yesterday all of them were given away to the employees at The Bridges. All else will be good to go as we have freezers and our food pantry is of course year round. So many people that you see getting the headlines because they support a food bank once a year forget that EVEN THE POOR AND HUNGRY EAT YEAR ROUND, so Carry The Light Ministries Food Pantry is open year round, we are on call for the needy. GOD IS GOOD, ALL GLORY TO HIM.
The Journey 2011 Day 33: Luke 2:4 - So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because He belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (NIV)
And the trip begins... Come on, we are putting the sleigh away and we are going to look at this trip from the eyes of "Jack". Jack is a donkey, and for right now, I am going to be "Jack" the Donkey. While I think I might have told the story last year from the eyes of the donkey, I do not look back to things a year ago, I go with what God gives me fresh each day.
Hi, my name is Jack and I am a donkey and I want you to notice a few things about me, before we start this long trip. First of all check out my back and the back of all other of my relatives, we have a cross on our backs, yes, if you look closely you will find that on a light colored donkey, they have a dark stripe down the back from the base of the neck to the top of the tail, and a stripe across the shoulders, thus forming a cross. The other thing to note is that we donkeys are sure footed, and provide a really nice ride compared to a horse or one of those big camels. By the way, I would never "walk a mile" for a camel, but I have walked many miles with camels. (A little humor from a donkey, folks.)
Anyway, folks, after old Caesar (not a salad dressing) put out the call for all to be taxed, I mean counted, I had this happen. It was cold, and Joseph came out to the stable (a barn) and got me, and while he put a lead over my head, and a blanket on my back, he talked to me. "Jack," we are going to a big trip, and I need you to carry Mary and she is near the time to deliver a baby, and I need you to be smooth. I am thinking, hey, Joseph, you know I am smooth and I will take care of this wonderful lady for you. So Joseph led me up to the house, and then left my lead hang, for he just knew I would not run away. I love Joseph, he feeds me and gives me water and cleans my bed, he is a really neat man, I can see why Mary loves him so much. I don't know Mary really well yet, but I think till this trip is over I will. Oh, hold on folks, here comes Joseph out of the house with Mary. Wow, she is "big"; how will she ever get across me? Then Joseph in a most caring way picked up Mary and put her on my back sideways. I think the present term is called side saddle, but I did not have a saddle on, just a blanket. Oh my gosh, I thought, I must be smooth or this wonderful lady will fall off, I hope she hold onto my hair on the back of my neck, or the top of the cross. Do you folks want to know a secret, I heard that Mary is going to have a baby who will be special, and that is all I am going to tell you right now, but this little clue, this is the very first time this baby gets a ride on a donkey and the first time, he is on the cross. Think of that folks... And we are moving out... Well, as we go we are meeting up with others, camels, horses, other donkeys, and yes, even people. Ok, got to run, no, I mean that is all for today... Please comeback tomorrow as we head to that little town of, do you know the name of that little town... It is in the Bible and also a song...
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the words You are giving me, and Lord, we ask today that You look over our prayer requests and as always, Your will to be done. Thanks, Lord, for saving us, and thanks, Lord, for all of our needs that You have supplied for all of us... In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings, and please come back tomorrow as we head out some more with Jack... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday Dec. 19, 2011 The Journey 2011-32
Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, the President of the United States, and also for our veterans, current military, police, firefighters, and all others who work to keep us healthy and safe. Please keep praying for Glenn. Also please pray for Helen Thomas. Dolores also needs your prayers. Pray also for Ruby, Curtis, and Eleanor.
I would like to thank all those who came and work so hard on our distribution day this past Saturday. Something very different happened this year. While we knew our numbers were going to go well over last year's, as last year we were expecting 60 families to come for groceries, this year we were expecting nearly a hundred families. It was a sight to behold, we had food packed out for 100 families and a large crew to pack and then again to load cars. We had prayer warriors on the driveway and loaders. Each family who came received a really nice turkey, hotdogs, a lot of bread, cakes, pies, goodies and five bags of groceries. All families were called and told the time and date of distribution. These folks are those who need food, are to have very little. Thirty families did not show up for their food, THIRTY families who were to have needed food, who had very little. Near the end of our set hours three folks starting to call those who did not come. THEY FORGOT! Answer a question for me, how can a parent with children who are said to have not enough to eat forget to come for free groceries, and I mean groceries? While not a thing will spoil and will be used as the food bank is open year round, and I would think as people remember they will call to come and get their food, I just don't understand it. One thing, we did find some others in need and already turned some of those "left overs" over to others in need. Thanks again for all those who support the efforts of Carry The Light Ministries and our outreaches. You are wonderful... Again we push on with one really busy week. Other than today, Mrs. Claus and old Santa will be doing doubles this week until the 23rd. Then the Santa suits go away until next year.
The Journey 2011 Day 32: Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. (NIV)
So today we start our big trip toward the birth of our Lord Jesus on Christmas. I am going to try and complete this part of the journey by Thursday, as many who receive the message at a work site might have Friday off.
Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken. Now let's get this straight. Caesar Augustus issued a decree that all will report so they know where you are so you can pay your taxes. It also tells us in the Bible that everyone went to his own town to register. So let's look at this on today's market, and as you know, we still have census takers and do census and why, again, so folks know where you are living so you can be placed on the tax rolls. What if this were to happen today, let's look at it just here in the United States of America...
Today, President Obama issues a decree that a census should be taken, and everyone MUST go to his own town to register. Now remember, folks, this would be your town of birth. (Maybe if this order went out we would find out for sure where our President was born) (did I say that?) But think of it, I would need to head to Harrisburg, Pa, not a far trip, my wife would be going to Camp Hill, Pa. Now we could do that in just two hours out and back unless, unless, unless we had to travel by donkey and foot. Now I have friends on this line that would need to travel from Florida to Harrisburg just to sign up to pay your taxes. Gosh, do donkeys fly? Now it is different today; are we not happy about that? Not much today is the same as back then, not much at all, I really can only think of one thing that is the same, and I will show you that one in the Bible...
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (NIV)
Yes, while all things have changed, our Lord Jesus, the one who we will be talking about all this week has not changed, not one bit. Chances are we might change even before the day is over, but our Lord will not. I pray that our changes will be for good, growing deeper and deeper in love with Jesus. And for those who are unsaved, I pray will become saved.
Tomorrow I am going to become Jack, Jack is a donkey and I would love to tell you this trip from the eyes of the donkey, the animal who transported Mary on this journey. Please come back while I make a "donkey" out of myself. Now, now, think good things.
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, I really Love You and give thanks for another day on this earth, and doing Your work. Please honor our prayer requests as per Your will in our lives. Lord, get us ready for this season and beyond and help us all remember that You and You alone are the reason for ALL seasons. Lord, thanks for all the help You sent to us to help with the food, and Lord, please help those who really need the food to call us so we can reset a time for them to come... In Jesus' name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings... Love ya... Pastor Dan.

Friday Dec 16 2011 "I Was Hungry"
Please pray for Glenn who is back in the hospital. Pray also for Dolores, she had a very bad fall yesterday. Landed face down on a very hard floor. She is up and going, but still needs prayers.
Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. And it is a good morning and it looks like the weather is going to be good for Carry The Light Ministries' big event on Saturday. Please today and tomorrow pray for our food distribution to go well. We still need some help and we need all helpers to be here by 12.30 PM so we can have prayer time and instructions. If you arrive and the driveway is full of those coming early, please park on the front lawn. Do not park on the neighbors' lawns or along the street.
Matthew 25:34 - Then the King will say to those on His right, "Come; you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom, prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." (NIV)
I wanted to bring this scripture out today so you can see that when we feed the hungry and help them we are doing it as if to Jesus. In the words of Jesus: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat."
We still need a couple of prayer warriors, people who can pray with others, we need people to help with traffic, people to load cars, people to load the loaders (I will explain this one tomorrow.) We are going to try and load out four, maybe five cars at a time. If all come who have said they are coming for food, we will have at this point 97 families coming for food. For those who were here last year helping we had 60 scheduled and I think most showed up. I have alerted the police so they might come by and check on traffic and help if needed.
I did not alert any news people. If you can come please help us, we cannot have too many for this mission. If we have extra people, some can sort food that is coming in or just rotate inside to get warm... AND YES, PLEASE DRESS WARM. New this year, we have a toilet on location.
Ok, Friday is the day we pray for those working in the fields of Harvest... Let's pray and I hope to see you on Saturday.
Please call me if you are coming ... 717 991 0754, my cell phone... location 16 Dewalt Drive Mechanicsburg, Pa. 17050.
Dear Father in Heaven, You have blessed the ministry well, You have blessed us well. The food is ready and we are ready to serve the hungry. Lord, help us with this mission and help us have leftovers so the food pantry can keep going forward. Lord, as You know, we are not just a Christmas group, we are a food pantry charged by You to feed the hungry... Bless the mission, Lord... and please touch and heal Glenn.... In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
See some of you tomorrow, and please share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
