Monday: Pack and Run

Onward, Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on Before.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington and in our State Houses across this great Nation. It is also the day we pray for our veterans, our military, our police and firefighters. Please pray for the families of those 4 police officers that were shot down in a coffee shop in Washington State yesterday. All dead folks, as they had coffee before they went on duty. Was it a terrorist attack? I think so and do not know any more details than I just gave you. Think about this, would it be if it was your family member? Please pray today for hunters as they take to the woods. Pray that they remember that the deer have four legs and the hunters have two (not a joke, folks).

Pack and Run: Recently in the town of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the powers that be decided to move the Nativity from the town square because the atheists wanted to put up their bush or whatever they put up. So it seems that it would be best to not share the square with others since the Nativity was there for as long as most are old. So they packed it up and did something with it, I don't know what, maybe moved it to a church or just packed it up and put it away.

Seems we Christians do a lot of those things... When the heat comes on we seem to pack it up and run.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on Before. That is the refrain from the old hymn Onward, Christians Soldiers. Folks, we should be marching forward, not retreating. Remember that our Bible quotes Jesus in Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

It seems the Christian has the reputation in a lot of cases of stepping on the wounded. Yes, when one of us falls down, slips and sins, others come out and STEP ON THEM. You know, it goes like this and I will put my name in the catbird seat... Did you hear about Dan, why it did, and then on and on it goes. What should be done, it should go like this... Hey Dan, (one on one here) I heard that you ------------, how can I help you? You stopped going to church, how about coming along with me this Sunday?

Brothers and sisters we are to be moving forward, with the cross of Jesus. Now let me go back to Chambersburg for a minute. So what if those workers of Satan moved in that hate bush or whatever it is next to the area where the birth of Jesus is told in the Nativity. So what? If we are rock solid in our relationship with Jesus. we are not going to walk from Jesus to Satan, but maybe, just maybe those coming to see what the followers of nothing put up just might walk to the Manger and get touched, maybe even a worker of Jesus might be there to talk to them. Do you see what I am saying? Here is another example... We complain that we cannot pray before a football game at a school. Why not just one Christian standing up and start praying the Lord Prayer and seeing how many others just might join in... IT IS TIME WE STAND AND NOT PACK AND RUN... did I hear an AMEN?

Dear Father in Heaven, it is time we plant our feet on solid ground and stand firm and when we move, move forward into Your fields to get Your work done. Help us with that, Lord. Be with our hunters in the fields, with those who are in our military and also our veterans. Be with the families of those police officers who were shot and killed, and, Lord, be with our President, I pray first for His soul and then ,Lord, for Him to come to You with this Nation's business instead of to Acorn... In the name of Jesus I pray... Amen.

In closing, let me share this. Last night I was honored to go up on a stage and sing with Dave, Duane and Neil, the Original Couriers. I was humbled, and Dolores played the piano for us. Were we blessed or what? Now go forth sharing your blessings. Love ya, dan.
