Wednesday: Mothers (3)

"you will enter the ark---you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. And it is raining still and that is for sure not the reason I am taking about the ark, for God said "He will never destroy the earth with water again."

Today is Salvation Wednesday on this line, the day we pray for the unsaved. So please center your prayers asking the Lord to lead you to those who are unsaved or maybe walking and wandering in and out of the way they should be walking. I think we use the term "backsliding". Put feet on the prayers and really work for the Lord.

Mothers 3: Genesis 6: 18 - "But I will establish my covenant with you and you will enter the ark---you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you." (NIV)

Today let me talk to you about four mothers who I don’t even know their names. Maybe they are mentioned in the Bible, but right now I have not researched it to find them. It does not make a difference about the names, I just want to point out that when God destroyed the earth with the big flood, and He picked Noah to build the Ark, and I would think that Noah's sons and all the wives helped with the work ... Noah and his sons, could they make a TV series out of that one and call it "My Three Sons"? Oh, that name was used ... Ok, back on subject. Now we know all this happened because it is recorded in our Bible and that is also a great history book. We know that all the animals that were put on the Ark were in pairs, so that they would be able to reproduce later. And folks, is that also not why God put the wives on The Ark? Let me point something out right now. Someone might take me to task for this, but you know me, what God gives me, I put down.

Do you notice that God did not put Noah and his three sons on the Ark and send in four more men ... Or He did not put all women on the Ark ... Or he did not put all males or all females of the animals on board the Ark. So stop all this rights about marriage thing. In the eyes of God, it is for a man and woman ... and to that I will just say, AMEN.

Ok, back on point with the wives, these ladies, like Eve, are there to bring forth children. Now Mrs. Noah, I will call her, already had the boys, and I don't know if she had more or not, but these Mothers, one of them, one of them would trace back to being related to us.... As would Eve. These mothers have some DNA invested in us. I want you to think about the Ark with all the animals and think about how they lived, and think about what it might have been like being a mother back in those times. We sometimes think we have it tough, but think about it folks, both men and women. The women had the kids, and did the wash, and the cooking. Men would take care of the animals, butcher, garden, build places to live, build the old outhouse, and so on. All using homemade tools, etc. Hard work ... Today, as we come upon Mothers' Day, I want you to think about the mothers of the past and also now. Folks, being a mother is very hard work. I watched my mamma and love her dearly. She taught school in East Pennsboro Township, second grade at Summit Street. She made a lot of her dresses and they wore dresses back then. She cooked and cleaned house and did all the things expected of her, and she also took in washing and ironing to help pay the bills. Tomorrow we are going to take a look at a few more mammas from the days of old. Before I get to the end of this week you will, if you don't already think so, join me in saying that Mammas are God's second greatest gift ... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, again I come to You giving thanks for mothers all over the world, and really tell You that I appreciated my Mamma and all she did for me. I did not have her long Lord, and I look forward to the day we sit at Your feet and talk. Thanks for all the mothers, and I ask today as we are working on the unsaved that You help us to seek out the mothers that are lost, those that do not know You and we witness to them. For Lord, we know that deep down in most cases it is the mother who see the kids get to church. While I pray that all men would lead their families in ways of Yours and head up the family, I know that the mothers are nearest to the kids. So today I ask special blessings on them and also upon all the men who take over where the women fall short or are missing from the home for one reason or another. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

This morning after Dolores and I finished our Bible study for this day, and as we prayed, we made a promise to God that regardless of how much we hurt, we will work for Him and walk in His light. I tell you this for some days the pain level on both of us is high and we need your prayers, but this will not stop me from working for Him. Now go forth and share your blessings. God is so good ... love ya, dan.
