"I will return to you."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a wonderful, just wonderful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, located just outside of Harrisburg, Pa, in the township of Silver Spring. We are having a nice light rain which means God is doing the watering of our garden. God is so good. Before you complain about a rainy morning, think what it might be like if we did not have rain. It is one of the great gifts from our Lord God.
It is Thursday and that means it is family day on the line, the day we pray for families. All of us need to belong to AT LEAST two families. Yes, we have our own family and then we need to belong to the family of God. Let me make this bold statement today. "If one does not belong to the family of God, then his own family suffers." Anyone want to say Amen to that statement?? We also really need to lift high our prayer warrior Vicki and her family for their load is very heavy. Also lift the Saylor family, when you pray. Lift by name, Don, Eleanor, Dan, Robert, and Sharon Saylor. Also please pray for Pastor Charles to get up out of his wheelchair and walk, and pray that he will preach again. Pastor had suffered a stroke.
Promises (4): It is something I just cannot get done and that is tell you all the promises that God has made to us in a one week series of messages. Today I want to look at a few more, and then wrap it up tomorrow. Here is a great promise, found in Malachi and Hebrews ...
Malachi 3: 6 - "I the Lord do not change." (NIV) Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)
When dealing with others, we sometimes do not know what to expect as people change ... and folks, that is not always a bad thing, for we need to be changing and growing in our Lord Jesus. But all so often things change in life that really throw us a curve, and sometimes that is people, even our family and near friends. One thing in people that changes is, they make promises and do not always keep them. God makes promises that never fail. Our banks and loan companies are in trouble today because of changes. You got the mortgage and then the rates changed and went up, so you could not keep your promise and pay the loan. Our son Glenn runs a family business and manages rental property. So often, so often, people make promises that they will pay the rent and within just months the money does not come in. Or he rents to someone for so many people and then finds out the house is full. So many promises get broken in those rental agreements. People get credit cards, they make charges and when you sign your name you are indeed making promises to pay the bills. Then people break their promises and don't pay. So people break promises to banks and card companies, but what about to God, when it comes to their money? Listen to this ...
Malachi 3: 8 - Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'" "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse, the whole nation of you, because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, please note on this great promise that God tells us that we can test Him on it. Each day on this line I close by telling you to share your blessings, and friends, if you do that, and do it in faith, God is going to bless you and bless you and bless you over and over again.
Let me tell you just how good God is, He takes care of us, listen to these words of our Lord Jesus.
Matthew 6: 25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they?" (NIV)
God provides for the birds and He provides for us. Now listen to this. God provides not just for us who are "Born Again" believers, He provides for those who will stand on the corner and say there is no God. He provides for us also when we backslide. He provides for all of us, each and every one, and He makes that promise and keeps it. Folks, it is time we learn to trust God and that we stand on the promises ... Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for being the same today as yesterday and also for tomorrow, we know that You will always be there for us. Today I just want to thank You for providing for our family, and for all families. Today on this family day, instead of asking for things from You, I want to just thank You for all You have done for all of us. So often we just don't take time to think about it, but be direct or indirect it all comes from You ... Thank You Jesus. And Father I pray in the name of Jesus ... Amen.
Tomorrow, Friday, to me, the greatest promise made by God. Do you know what it might be? Email me and let me know what You think it is. Now go forth and yes, you may test God on this one. Share your blessings, love ya, dan.

Malachi 3:8-10 was addressed only to the priests and/or Old Covenant Israel per Ex 19:5-6; Lev 27:34; Mal 1:6; 2:1; 4:4. Tithing was never commanded to the Church in terms of grace after Calvary. Period.
ReplyDeleteAlthough money was common even in Genesis and essential for sanctuary worship, money was never included in 16 texts which describe the contents of the tithe. Biblical tithes were always only food from inside Israel. Jesus, Peter and Paul did not quality as tithe-payers and neither did the poor or those who lived outside Israel.
The whole law was a test --not merely tithing. Obey ALL to be blessed; break ONE to be cursed. Galatians 3:10-13 effectively replaces tithing for NT Christians.
NT giving is primarily sacrificial. For many that means more than 10%; for others it is less.
