"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning with a light rain falling here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Before I forget, I will be writing each day this week but the times might be different as I have some very early doctors appointments.
Ah, Monday and the day we pray for our military, and all those who work to keep us safe and our leaders in Washington and in our state and local governments. On Saturday I had the honor of giving the invocation and benediction at a "Support our Troops Rally" on the Capitol Steps at Harrisburg Pa. It was nice to see several hundred people come and support our troops ... BUT SAD, for there should have been thousands and thousands and thousands. These brave men and women work so hard to keep us safe, keep us free, and we can only get out a few hundred, and most of them were veterans and their families. Please folks, come out and support our troops and support them today with your prayers.
Mothers (1): Let me add a subtitle to this, which will be the title of my message this coming Sunday. "Mothers: God's Second Best Gift!" The messages this week will be about mothers, some from the Bible and some might be about your mamma or mine. Mothers are indeed special people. Let's go back to the very first Mother today ... Her name was "Eve".
Genesis 2: 18 - The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone, I will make a helper suitable for him." Genesis 2: 21 - So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man." (NIV)
Genesis 4: 1 - "Now Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of Lord I have brought forth a man." 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel." (NIV)
Let me just say Thank You Lord for making mothers, for after Jesus, I think it is truly the next best gift from God. So this week I want to say "Thank You to our Lord God for Mothers, and also the children they have borne." Did you notice that God made women different from men, the plumbing is very different and it was for a reason, and that was so children could be made. And yes folks, God even built in a way to feed these little ones once out of the womb. God is so good, so very good.
Mothers, for the most part, are also very hard working people. Not only do mothers give birth and feed the children, they for the most part do the changing of the diapers and give them the baths and teach them all the things they need in those tender years. So all this week we want to include mothers in our daily prayers.
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for Mothers, from the first Mother to those who right now as I am praying are giving birth we thank You for them. And Lord I pray today that all mothers-to-be would consider taking the baby to term, for it is a life, and You have Your hand upon it. Lord, bless the mothers and the children they bear. Lord I pray today for our President and his family and all of our leaders in Washington and in the leadership all over the world., I pray that one thing they would all work on is peace ... world peace. I pray today for our military, Lord, and ask Your blessing upon all members of the military and their families. Lord, I ask Your protecting hand upon them. And Lord, for our police, state, local, and all those firefighters and others who keep us safe, bless them Lord, bless them Lord, please bless them. Thanks for this line, Lord, and thanks for the messages of this day. Please help me this week as I write, and Lord, may this line grow and grow ... In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Carry The Light is singing at home this weekend ... On Saturday May 9th at 2:00 PM we will be in the Pennsylvania room at The Bridges, and you are invited to come. Now may the Lord bless You and keep you and may you share your many blessings from Him ... love ya, dan.
