Tuesday: Mothers (2)

Honor your father and your mother!!

Good Afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters. Today, Tuesday, means it is Schools day on this line. So pray and pray hard for our schools and all who go through the doors. All employees, the kids of course, and remember those bus drivers and the mechanics who work on the buses. Prayers also for Pastor Carol as she heads to the hospital for surgery. I will give updates as I receive them. Please keep praying for Vicki and her family, the Saylor family, and Pastor Charles, Pat, Greta and Jo.

Mothers (2): Exodus 20: 7 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (NIV)

Honor your parents, honor your mother so that you may live long ... wow, you know so often when we talk about the ten commandments we do not put down the complete commandment and here is a good case. Most often we say just "Honor your father and mother". So, my dear brothers and sisters, how is it best to honor your parents? And let's talk mothers today since Mothers' Day is this Sunday and my daily message is about mothers. So how do we honor our mothers? Do we send them or give them some flowers, or a nice card? Maybe you will get a fruit basket or a big box of candy ... but please don't buy her a can opener. But to me you must honor your mother every day, not just on Mothers' Day. So how best to honor them, and this works my friends even if, hear me on this, even if your mother is deceased. If we are really Christians and we walk with Jesus daily to please Jesus, surely that is the very best way to honor them. For if we truly live to please Jesus, I am sure your Mamma would be very proud of you and very pleased. Folks, it is nice to give your mamma or your wife a nice gift for Mothers' Day. Flowers are nice, and if you get something you can put out in the yard, she can enjoy it a long time. Maybe take her to dinner, or even better, men, cook that dinner and for gosh sakes clean up the mess when you are done. My dear late mamma would tell me to please her, just behave, drive safe, stay out of trouble, and clean up after myself. Most mothers taught us what we needed to know for good health. Mothers really are special. Honor your mother by loving her and loving Jesus even more.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for Mothers. Please be in and around our schools and keep the people safe, bless them all Lord. Please heal the sick on our list, and Lord please let Pastor Charles preach again. Lord, I love you ... in Jesus' name, Amen.

Go forth sharing your blessings and sharing love for your mother and father by living for Jesus. Love ya, dan.

PS, yes I will be late again tomorrow.
