"And lead us not into temptation."
Good working for the Lord in the fields of harvest morning to you my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, it is Friday and the day we pray for those who work the fields for our Lord Jesus. Brothers and sisters, it is time to get serious about this work! The Lord said the Harvest is ripe and the workers are few ... and that is a fact today. It is time for all of us to get busy, we need to put those "feet on these prayers"... That quote from Pamela S. Bower. Pam runs the Carry The Light Ministry Blog Spot, carrythelight4Jesus.blogspot.com. You are welcome to be involved in this blogspot.
Prayers also today for the family of James B. Mitchell. Jim was one of my best friends in high school. Both of us had those Fords that looked alike. Jim had a 49 and I had a 50, both had the flathead V8 engines duels, lowered, and looked great. Thanks for supporting his family in prayer.
Tempted (5): Matthew 6: 9 - "This, then, is how you should pray:" "'Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, but deliver us from the evil one.'" (NIV)
Folks, our dear Lord Jesus who taught us how to pray, and who to pray to, must have known that we would be tempted often so He taught us to pray about it. All week I have been talking about temptations, and now it is time for me to just wrap it up. Folks, there is only one way to handle temptations, and that is with the Blood of Our Lord Jesus protecting us. I don't care if you are wanting to lose weight and you are being tempted by ice cream and cake or a big old triple burger with a quart of mayo, or if it is money that tempts you. You cannot walk it alone, and while support groups like Weight Watchers might help you in the weight department, the only one who will really stand with you in all things is JESUS ... that's it, Jesus. Amazing, isn't it? I could write more on this subject, but enough is enough. We need to call on Jesus daily and ask Him to block out those temptations. So today, lets just pray the prayer that I printed above.
Hear our prayers today, Lord Jesus, be with the family of my dear friend Jim, and Lord be with all who are working in the fields of Harvest. Be with Pastor Charles, Pastor Tony, Pastor Paul, Pastor Rick, Pastor Larry, Pastor Kevin, also with Dave, Duane, and Neil, and Tim and Larry. Bless them Lord, and now Lord, hear this prayer you taught us to pray: "'Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, but deliver us from the evil one.'" In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth sharing those blessings, and remember the Support Our Troops rally in front of the State Capitol in Harrisburg Pa. Tomorrow, Saturday May 2 at NOON ... see you there ... love ya, dan.
