"But unless you repent, you too will perish."
And that is a fact, my dear brothers and sisters, and if were not true, Jesus would not have said it.
It is Friday and wow did it rain last night. About midnight I went to Lowes to buy lumber for an ark. Just kidding, but we did have some rain. In our area nearly three inches and above us in Perry County some areas had four inches. Oh and while I am talking the weather here, which God is in control of, did you see the names of the storms of this year? Yes, check out that number 4 storm and hang on. It is to be called "Danny". Hey let me get back to business, it is Friday and the day we pray for all of those who are working the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus.
It's a fact! Once again I want to point out to you that I believe with all my heart everything that is recorded in my Bible. I do not pick and choose, I do not say this is ok and this is not. I believe it all, and I hope you do also. Today I ask that you would take the time to read Luke 13: 1/9 and in there you will find this ... Luke 13: 5 "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will perish." (NIV)
From Luke 13: 4 "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him. (NIV) Matthew 3: 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. (NIV) Matthew 4: 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is near." (NIV)
My dear friends, I want to make this as clear as I can. We need to take Jesus as our Savior, we need to ask to be forgiven of our sins, and we need to repent of those sins. In life we make a lot of choices, we make good ones, fair ones, poor ones, and some out and out rotten ones. Over the years we, if we have worked hard, can overcome those that were not good and turn them around, sometimes it means starting over. And yes, coming to Jesus for me was after making some bad choices in life. But one choice that you can't do over is if you pass from this earth before you repent and come to Christ. You have a choice on this one. Pick Jesus and go to heaven, pick evil and walk away for Jesus and GO TO HELL. Can I make it any clearer? Where do you want to spend all of eternity? It is your choice ... do you want to go to Heaven? Or do you want to go to Hell? I made my choice and while still a sinner I am going to do my best to repent. We as humans will still make mistakes, we will mess up, but we have a loving Jesus who is in the forgiving business. He will hold us, he will hug us, and He will take care of us, if we just accept Him as our Savior. No one else, just Jesus.
So for those of us who are saved, we have a job to do working to spread the word of our Lord Jesus, to tell the people of the world what needs done to be saved. We need to spread His word, and folks, before you can spread His word, you must believe it yourself. Do you believe it today? Believe it all? It is a fact!! HEAVEN OR HELL IS YOUR CHOICE.
Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins, wash me clean and book me for Heaven today. I want to repent of my sins and I know I need Your help for this. Help me in the name of Jesus. Then Lord, after my act is together, help me to spread Your word to others, to tell the good news to all. In the name of Jesus, I ask for Your protection to all who are working Your fields of Harvest, and I ask it in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Repent or Perish, come to Jesus, and share those blessings from Him. Have a great weekend ... Love ya, dan.

Thursday: Be Dressed
Be Dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning.
Hey, it is family day on the line, and Good morning to all of my on-line family.. and yes by now, after all these years we are family, and more than just a family of God. Some of you I have never seen or talked to yet I seem to know you well, others have sent me pictures, and still others I have even had breakfast or lunch with. I am just so blessed that God lets me do this daily, that He trusts me enough to do His work, and folks, He trust you also, so if you are not working for Him, start today.
Please pray today again for families and pray for Vicki and her family. A cousin now has been told of cancer. So please support this family in prayer. Also please pray for my Aunt Romaine who has been taken to the hospital. Also please pray for Jim, who is stationed in Iraq. I have withheld his last name and the location as he is on special assignment. And yes, pray for all of our troops who so proudly serve our country ... Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and all those reserve units. And pray for the Pennsylvania Striker Brigade now serving in Iraq, and pray for their families.
Be Dressed! Years ago when I was a lad, my buddies and I liked to "sleep out." We would put up a homemade tent or just sleep under the stars in one of our back yards. And when not sleeping out with my friends I would sleep most often on the glider on our back porch. Back before AC we did these things. One of the neatest things was our "free Chocolate Milk" and also that we would always sleep in our clothes. Yes, we were dressed (didn't take a bath either) and ready and we had fun. And we did not get into trouble except for that "free Chocolate Milk". I have confessed this one over to God also. Back in those days people had a "Milk Man". For those too young to remember, milk, bread, meat, eggs etc were delivered to your home. So back to the "Free Chocolate Milk". We knew where the milkmen would stop and we would put a note in the box, please leave a quart of Chocolate milk, and after the milkman would leave the milk we would go and get it. When my dad found out we did this, I had to go to the houses and pay the people, so my Free Chocolate Milk was no longer free. Anyway, backyard camping out was fun and we were always dressed.
The Bible tells us we are to be dressed and ready. Again I ask you to read today from Luke 12: 35/48. Let me just write a few verses for you. Luke 12: 35 - "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning". Verse 40 - "You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him." (NIV)
If you read all of these scriptures on this subject, you will find that Jesus uses an example that we must be dressed as a servant ready to serve his master. And we shout always be ready to serve Jesus. This does not mean we go to bed dressed as I did when camping out. This means to me that we must come to Christ, we must "dress our hearts" so to speak. We must wash our robes, and again I am not talking clothes here, I am talking about our souls, our minds, our hearts, our brains, we need to have them cleaned up by our Lord, we need to ask to be forgiven and we need to follow in His footsteps, we need to be ready to serve Him here and we need to be ready to "check out of here" when He calls for us or He comes. Are you dressed and ready to serve God today?
I have gone to stores where the employees look great, look like they're ready to serve you, and I have been in some where the employees looked like, well, not like employees should look. I think our schools went down hill when the teachers started to dress down. Again I go back to my mother and dad who were both school teachers. Dad had to wear a suit, white shirt and tie. Not slacks and a sport coat, or a colored shirt, it was a suit and white shirt and tie and the shirts were long sleeves. Now he could take off his suit coat and put it over his chair in class, but when he went to the hall between classes his coat had to be on. The lady teachers like my mother wore dresses or skirts and blouses and no slacks, none, zip. This to me set an example for the kids to LOOK UP TO, and not across or down. I think if we had a dress code again for teachers, it would after a few years make a difference to our kids in school. And for the business that let their employees have a dress down day, they need to learn that just puts the business down one day a week. When I owned service stations, my employees were in uniforms. And look at our postal carriers, they are furnished uniforms, yet some look really bad, shirts hanging out ... think about this proper dress.
And let me point out one more thing. People go to church dressed in some cases really bad. And while we say it is better they come to church than how they dress, that is somewhat true, but I still think we need to Look God to God. When serving God we need to wear our best. Again I would love to hear from you.
So now let's get back one more time about being dressed. The heart of this lesson is to have our heart and soul dressed and ready for the Lord. But we also need to be dressed daily to serve Him. If you send two guys out to the street dressed in coats and ties and two dressed like, well like bums, and they are both wanting to talk to people about God, who do you think stands the best chance of having a door opened?
Dear Father in Heaven, we want to dress not to show off, but to show we love You and show respect for You and to be ready to serve You. Help us find the line and do it. Lord, bless families today, be with Don Saylor and with Vicki and her family. Lord, bless the families on this line. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Go forth now, sharing your blessings and dressing for your job and dressing yourself for the Lord. Live daily for Him, for it just might be tonight when He comes back or we get called home. Be dressed and ready ... love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Crossing The Street
He passed by on the other side!
Good Salvation Wednesday, my dear brothers and sisters. Today is the day we pray for the lost and also for our Lord to use us to lead them in. Please put feet on these prayers. Also today please pray for Vicki and for her father. Vicki's dad is gravely ill. Pray also for her family.
Permit to pray ... Yes, here in America and it is on Fox Cable News today ... I will try and get the name of the town. The headline is that a town is trying to make people holding prayer meetings in their home get a permit, and it is not free. More coming up on this ... See the Post Script
Crossing The Street! A small child was sitting on the street corner with a small bag of his worldly goods at his side. He had been sitting on that curb for hours when a policeman walked up to him and asked if he was ok. The boy said, I am running away, but my mother said I should never cross the street alone. I am sure as a child one of the things that you learned was how to cross the street. My mother took me to the street and told me to use the cross walks or back then the intersections. Look both ways and watch for turning cars and never run for you might fall. Always leave enough room to walk across the whole street, don't go half way and stop. And so far I have never been hit crossing the street.
How many times in your life have you crossed the street? Thousands upon thousands of times I would guess. When I managed school transportation for a large school district I thought it was funny for we bused kids from across the street from some schools so they would not need to cross the street. While I agreed on some of the streets because they were more than two lanes, some just did not make sense to me. I thought many a time that we will teach the kids to read and write but they will not be able to cross the street. I can see it now, a person applies for a job in a big city, it is a great paying job. On the interview they were asked about education, I had 13 years in public education, I went 4 years to Yale and 4 more to Harvard, I have four degrees. Ok, that is great said the interviewer. You can start on Monday. Ok, said that new employee, what time does the crossing guard get to the street corner or do you bus us who live across the street? (stop it Dan)
But let me ask you this question, would you cross the street to help someone, or to get away from helping someone? Or would it depend on the type of help the person needs? Yes, I am leading to the Parable of the Good Samaritan, and would ask that you read the complete story found in Luke 10: 25/37.
As Jesus told this parable he talked about a man going from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was beaten and robbed, even his clothes were taken. Jesus told of a priest going by on the other side of the street and also a Levite did the same. Then a Samaritan came and saw the man and helped him.
Where would you fit in today, where would I fit in today? Would we be like the priest or the Levite or would we be like the Samaritan and help the person? Right now you are more than likely saying to yourself, why, I would cross the street and help the person. Would you? What if the robbery and beating was still going on? What if you saw two or three people beating on one, would you turn and walk away? Oh, we might get hurt, or maybe get shot. So I will go and call the police. Folks, I would hope and pray that I would have enough "guts" to go and assist. What about when you see a car along the road, the people out, the hood up? Be careful on this answer, it is not a trick, but we must be careful. Would you stop and help or call? Or at least call and send help back?
Now let me put the old shoe on the other foot. Now we are the one being robbed and beaten and we out of the corner of our eye see people watching as we are getting our tail stomped. Would we not want someone to come and help? I would. Folks, if we truly love our neighbors, let me say this again, IF WE TRULY LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS, we would go and help, even if we get hurt. Yes, we need to use good judgment, but we need to trust that the Lord will protect us and we need to get involved. Now I know some will disagree with me on this, but we need to learn to cross the street and help. I am not telling you to get between two drug dealers in a shoot out, but I am telling you to help those who really need help. Don't be afraid to "Cross the Street". If God did not want you to do this, then Jesus would not have told the story. Cross the Street and love on your neighbor as you honor God doing this ... Amen.
Lord, in life we must make some really hard decisions when it comes to getting involved. So help us, Lord, and protect us also as we need to love our neighbors and show our Love for You as we do it. In the name of Jesus, I ask that You help us go into the fields of Harvest and look for the lost, help us to seek out those that have not come to You. I ask also that You be with Vicki, her dad and her family. Bring them together Lord, and heal her father. Lord, thanks for this line and the messages You give me daily. Thanks for protecting it from trash and failures. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, some of the lessons from the Bible are not easy to follow. God never told us that our life here on earth would be a bed of roses. We need to just trust in Him and if we truly follow His teachings and if we hold on tight to Jesus as we follow Him, in the end, we will safely
"Cross the Street". Now go forth and share those blessings, and please by all means if needed to share your blessings, cross the street to do it ... love ya, dan.
OK, more on the permit needed for a prayer meeting. It has happened in Santiago County in CA and people on Good Friday were gathered in a home for dinner and Bible study when an official came from the county and told them they could not have a religious service in the house without a permit. Check the story on Fox News. If it happens there will your town or mine be next? Can't study Bible in my house ... OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS THEY WILL NEED TO PRY THE BIBLE..

Tuesday: The Body!
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts.
Good TUESDAY morning, my dear brothers and sisters. I wrote Tuesday big for I just know we are all going to be thinking it is Monday. Today, Tuesday, is schools day on this line, the day we pray for our schools, public, private, all schools, from preschool to schools of higher education. I also ask that you pray for all who enter the schools, not just the students or teachers, but so often we forget about those whose work we cannot be without. What would a Principal be if not for that school office secretary, what would a good special education teacher be without the ones in the room who help take care of the children? What good would that school bus be if we did not have the very best bus drivers in the world behind the wheel driving them? And please tell me, would the schools even open without the men and women who clean up the spills and clean the restrooms? And please do not forget those who make the lunch and in a lot of cases the breakfast. They all need our prayers.
The Body: When God created the Heavens and the Earth He also made man and woman. The man was made from dust of the ground and the breath of air from our God. The woman was made from a rib from man. Now while that all sounds very simple, there is nothing simple about the body of we the people. Unless you have looked at all those posters hanging in your doctor's office, you don't really have a clue what the body is really made of, and then I am not sure that we will ever appreciate how God really made us. Then God gave some men and women the knowledge to make some repairs to the body. Think of it, my friends, think of your body and how many parts there really are. As we get older we start to hurt in parts we didn't know we had.
The Body: Now let's think of bodies other than ours. Oh, cut it out guys, I am not talking about the ladies here ... and no, ladies, we are not talking about those six packs that some men work for here. Let me move to a body that some might even remember. How about "Body By Fisher"? Do you remember that name? Yes, it was the name which General Motors cars were built under at one time. So since I am a car nut, let's talk a bit about the car body. How many parts could you name, and let's talk about the complete car, for the body as we think about it will not run without a motor, as we the people also need the parts that make us work. Cars have a shell, so do we, cars have a frame, so do we, cars have wheels and tires, we have feet and legs, and I could go on matching up a lot of parts. And folks, believe it or not, the car and the person both have a brain And I could go on and on ...
The Body: Let me look at just a few more. How about our schools? Some look only at the building, or the football fields and teams, some look at one part or the other, but it takes many parts to make up the body of a school. It really does.
The Body: Let me look at our military now, and I want to talk about the fine men and women of the military, not the planes, tanks, bombs, or anything else, I want to talk about the people. The body of our military, when it comes to people, are made up of many. Yesterday, Memorial Day, we remembered the past, the fallen, of those who have given their lives for this country ... and they gave it freely. But let's talk about the military of today, the body, the real heart and soul of our military.
When in dress uniforms, you see the bright colors of our Marines, the white uniforms of our Navy, the green of the Army, the blue of the Air Force, and the tan of the Coast Guard ... and I just know I did not get them all correct, but you are going to get the message. Under those uniforms are bodies, bodies of men and women who are Red, Yellow, Black, and White, and a mix of those colors. When 10 Marines jump out of a plane, they are one body, serving this Nation together. When a team of Sailors take a Submarine down under the water on a mission, the men (I don't think women are on subs yet), regardless of color, are of one body, each counting on the other to do their job. And I could go on with each branch of the service.
The Body: The church is also the same, and I am not talking about the local church where you attend, although that also should be one body with many parts. I am now talking about the Church of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 12: 12 - The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. (NIV) And the Bible goes on about other body parts also.
The Church of our Lord Jesus, in short, those who follow Jesus, the Born Again believers, need many to make up the body. Today it is not just Jews and Greeks but people of all races and backgrounds who have come to Jesus to be saved. And saved they will be when they come to Jesus.
Now let me wrap this one up. In our bodies today we have some parts that might not be working properly, they for one reason or another have weakened, or even stopped working. Sometimes repairs are needed to get them back on track. I have a few parts that have worn out, I need knees and also some shoulder repairs, so there are some things I now have trouble doing. The Body of Christ also needs all the body parts to work together. It takes all of the parts working together to bring in the lost to Jesus. Think about it, and let me ask you this question. As a part of the body of Christ, are you doing your fair share of the work? Maybe you are the legs and you need to get into the fields of harvest but you have been a "slacker". Do you know that weakens the entire body? Yes, there are others ... What about pastors, let me put "us" on the spot ... While most preach the truth and also the complete word of God, but what about those pastors who are supporting gay marriages, or abortion, or other things that do not line up with the teachings of our Lord Jesus that are in the Bible? When these things happen, the body gets weakened. Let me relate that to the flu. We need the full body of Christ to be pulling together. And if you are watching the news about Korea and reading about the states giving in to the gay marriage and all the abortions going on, you know that the BODY OF CHRIST IS NEEDED NOW MORE THEN EVER. I THINK WE ARE IN THE FINAL DAYS, BUT I AM NOT WASTING TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT JESUS DOES NOT EVEN KNOW, I, LIKE YOU, HAVE WORK TO DO. Get your body attached to the body of Christ and get to work.
Dear Father in Heaven, we are indeed one body with many parts and we need to be working for You. Help us with this command of Yours, help us in the fields of Harvest to bring the lost to You. And Lord, as we pray today for our schools, help us to remember the schools are also part of the harvest fields. So bless our schools, and Lord, keep our bodies, our personal bodies, well so that we may be working for You ... in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Now go forth, as one body, of many parts, sharing your many blessings. And yes, this one body part loves ya ... dan.

Memorial Day 2009
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
"All gave some, some gave all."
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY, dear brothers and sisters. I sometimes get confused as to when Memorial Day, formerly Decoration Day, really is. The real date is May 30th, and I try hard to remember that as in 1982 Dolores and I were married. However, it is more than just our wedding anniversary that I want to remember, it is all those who have gone on before us. So today, just be with me as my mind does some going back ... Remember that today is Monday and that is the day we pray for our leaders, our President, Vice President and all those in power over us. It is also the day we pray for our veterans and their families and our current military and all their families, and also all those in your local communities that work hard to keep us safe.
MEMORIAL DAY 2009: Last Friday, Dolores and I went to the cemeteries where our parents are buried. Dolores' parents' bodies lie in the Camp Hill Cemetery while mine are at Rolling Green Cemetery. Each of us had one brother, and both are buried next to our parents in those grave sites. At Camp Hill Cemetery, we looked at her family plots as a lot of her family are buried there. We put out flags on the graves, regardless if they were in the military or not. You see, when we had Decoration Day, it was a day to decorate the graves, and while it is thought mainly for the military, it is really a day to remember.
This year again we are a NATION AT WAR, and with the type of war we are fighting, this war might just go on until the Lord returns. Going back in time to wars of the past, we would find that not only did our troops wear uniforms, so did the ones who we were fighting against. You also in the most part knew who your enemies were as they wore uniforms of their country. I need to tell you that I was never in the military, and I will also tell you that I am in love with a veteran, yes, my dear wife Dolores is an Air Force Veteran and also a veteran of the 193rd from Middletown Pennsylvania. So I thank her today for answering the call and salute her for it.
Today I want to remember all those who served in our military over the years, and I want to bring out just a few who served in areas you might not expect. When we think of our military we think of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Most often we also remember the Coast Guard, but we forget about one group of people that from times in the past and to today are one of the most important ... I want to thank all of our military and salute them all, for all of those who served gave something, and some of them gave it all, giving up their lives for our freedom. Think about it, for if not for those brave men and women, those who protest the wars they are fighting could not stand and protest ... and more than likely we would be hiding in some cellar to worship our Lord Jesus. So today I want to thank the proud, and they should be, the proud men and women of the United States Army, the United States Navy (son Glenn and daughter-in-law Dian, both Navy veterans), the United States Air Force (Dolores), the United States Marines, the United States Coast Guard, and the men and women of all the reserves and State Guard units, many of whom are serving now in Iraq. Also please remember and salute all the men and women of the MERCHANT MARINES.
We also want to thank those veterans that are living today, please do not let this pass, when you see a man or woman in uniform, please walk up to them, extend a hand and thank them for their service to our country. Remember this, our military is all voluntary, meaning they do not need to be there. Most in the service today signed up since the war on terror was started, and folks, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA did not start this war. You do remember September 11, 2001 don't you? Even before that we had bombings right here in our country right at the buildings that came down on 9/11/2001. What I am saying is that while our men and women of the military do not like war, they knew what they were getting into when they signed up. And the war on terror is ongoing, as we saw just last week when four young men turned Muslim, three while in jail, tried to bomb a Jewish Temple. Our CIA and FBI were right on top of it. So please thank these people also.
MEMORIAL DAY 2009 is also a day to remember some others beside our military who have gone in the past. Just out of high school I had a good friend "Barry Karper" die in a police car while in pursuit of a stolen car right on Second Street in Harrisburg Pa. The thief, and two of Harrisburg's finest men in blue died that night. We can look way back in our lives and think of many people who have gone on before us, and today we should remember them. Our grandparents, our parents, family members, and friends. So passed long ago, and in my case, one passed this past Saturday when Mary Jane, my dear friend from the Bridges who still would play the piano for us once in a while went home to Jesus. So we remember all of these and we give thanks and praise to all of them and to all who lived and even died for our freedom, I want to thank one more than any. Yes, One who also did not need to do what He did, but He did what His Father in Heaven wanted Him to do. So today on this,
MEMORIAL DAY 2009, I want to remember, and give thanks to our LORD JESUS, who died on the cross for us, He died fighting a war that is still going on, the war of good over evil. And He died so that we who have stains of sins can get them removed. So folks, on this Memorial Day, let us just pause to give praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for what He has done for each of us. Today, whatever your sins have been, as a sin is a sin, you can ask and you will be forgiven.
In our military we find that "all gave some and some gave all" also holds true for our Lord Jesus who gave it all for our personal freedom. Folks, right now let me tell you that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE, it cost a lot of lives ... a lot of pain, a lot of injury, so today let's really appreciate what our men and women of our military and our police have done to keep us safe, and above all let us remember JESUS for today He lives, and He will come back and get us out of this mess. PRAISE YOU JESUS ... and when He died on the cross He said these words to His Father in Heaven about His enemies who put Him on the cross ... "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23: 34 (NIV) And right there on the spot, Jesus also said this to one who stood up for Jesus on those last minutes of life ... "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." (NIV)
Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for men and women who were and still are willing to die for the freedom of us in the United States of America. Today, I also want to thank You for Jesus who died for me, to set me free from, well, Lord from myself. I also want to thank You for MJ and ask you to tell her, I will catch up with her someday. Lord, today I ask that You bring peace to our nation, and Lord, we have many who still want to kill us and one is on the rampage today as I even pray and that is North Korea, so Father I pray today for those evil leaders to fall on their faces and come to Jesus, I pray for their souls. Lord, save them as You protect us till the day our Lord Jesus returns on Your orders. In the name of Jesus, I pray ... Amen.
Go forth, remembering Jesus and all who have gone on before us, take time to have a nice day, to SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS, and maybe do the American thing and eat a burger or a dog ... and do it right with mustard and onions ... love ya, dan.
"All gave some, some gave all."

Saturday: Psalm 23 (Day 6)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever ... PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD ... AMEN
Good Memorial Day weekend, my dear brothers and sisters. Dolores and I were married on Memorial Day, the real date, May 30, 1982, so even though this might be the politically correct way, next Saturday we will have our anniversary dinner more than likely at Allenberry Playhouse and Resort Inns.
I am going to try and write a Memorial Day special on Monday.
Today is Saturday, and since I only write once in a while on Saturday, I do not have a set prayer schedule for that day. So, please pray for this line and remember to give God glory for it.
Psalm 23 (Day 6)
Psalm 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (King James)
Psalm 23: verse 6 - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (King James)
Dear brothers and sisters, if we live for our Lord Jesus, if we live by His commandments and not just the ten in the old testament and the two new ones from the lips of Jesus, but live by all of His commandments (yes, there are many more then twelve) --- if we walk each day to please Jesus, which surely should please your spouse, your children, your friends and even those you work with ... for if you are living to please Jesus you are living to please, well, the only one that really counts when it comes to pleasing. Most of all, now hear me on this, most of all if you live to please Jesus you should be pleasing yourself, you should be able to look yourself square in the mirror each day. The one commandment does tell us to love our neighbor as our self. And folks, is it not much easier to love your own self if you are living to please Jesus?
Maybe you recall days when you did not always live to please Jesus, I sure do, even though I have placed my sin on the cross and gave it all over to Jesus, I do have thoughts from time to time of my past. Let me tell you that when you live for Jesus, you do not need to be looking back over your shoulder to see if you got caught doing something wrong. I am not saying you had to be breaking man's laws, I am talking about the laws of Jesus. So today as I finish up on this wonderful Psalm, I just want you to take a good look at the last verse. Think about it ... let me put it in old car terms for just a minute. You work hard on that old car, you have restored that old Chevrolet or Ford, or maybe even a fire truck or an old milk truck. You then clean it up and take it to a show. You watch as others look over "Your Baby" then you get a little trophy, maybe for first place, maybe for second, or if you are like me, I got one, one time for the best bus, and mine was the only bus. Still it was nice to get the reward. BUT IT IS NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL, or are any of the other rewards we get on earth, like the rewards of Heaven. Just getting in, look at that last verse does it not say it all?
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
Surely it tells us, meaning this is going to happen, as sure as the Son is always with us, this is going to happen. And what is going to happen? GOODNESS is going to happen, and brothers and sisters, that is before we leave this earth. GOODNESS IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO US, brothers and sisters, I see no reason why some of that will NOT HAPPEN TODAY. LOOK FOR IT. Then we have MERCY and it is going to happen here on earth. It happened years ago when Jesus went on the cross. MERCY WAS GIVEN TO US BY THE VERY BLOOD OF JESUS. Enjoy it today, don't wait. Look at the Psalm again, the first part of verse six. SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY ... SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. WOW, does it get better than this, does it get better then this, I SAID DOES IT GET BETTER THEN THIS??? YES, YES, YES, listen up ... AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER. And let me remind you right now from the words of Jesus, and I wrote about this just a week ago. John 14: 1 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, Trust also in Me. 2 In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I AM GOING TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
Dear Brothers and sisters, not only are we going to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, we are going to be dwelling in it with Jesus. Let me say it again ... NOT ONLY ARE WE GOING TO DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER, WE ARE GOING TO DWELL IN IT WITH JESUS. Yes, this is a good thing. We are going to be living with the, ok, here it goes ... we are going to be living with the "land LORD". And someone said Amen. (beside me).
Dear Father in heaven, thanks for the Mercy given me on the cross, thanks to Jesus I am free, and thanks for the Goodness that has been piled upon me since I accepted the Mercy. I am looking forward to my home in heaven, until that dear sweet day, keep me working for you. I was tired of looking over my shoulder, and I came to You and You saved me from ruin. I can only say Thanks and I will try and do my best to repent. I fail often I know, but I will not stop trying to repent of all the sins. Now Lord, a request ... a dear friend has fallen to a stroke, she is Mary Jane and lives at the Bridges. I place her in Your hands for healing, dear Lord. She loves You so much. We would like to see her healed and back at the Bridges. But at last, Your will to be done with MJ as I release her to You ... in the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
Go forth, have a burger or a dog on that grill, start summer off right, start it off with Jesus, and please, well you just know what I am going to say ... yes, share those blessings. love ya, dan.

Friday: Psalm 23 (Day 5)
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
IT'S FRIDAY: "Onward Christian Soldiers!! Marching off to war, with the CROSS OF JESUS going on before ... 'CHRIST, THE ROYAL MASTER', Leads against the foe; Forward into battle, see, His banners go! Onward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, welcome to another beautiful day furnished to you by "GOD". Take a deep breath of air and let's get going to the fields of harvest and to work for Jesus. Yes, it is Friday and the day we give our prayer support to those working the fields and then we put "feet on our prayers" (Pamela S. Bower) and go to work for God ... AMEN ...
Psalm 23 (Day 5)
Psalm 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (King James)
Today we take a look at verse 5 and yes tomorrow we will have a special writing to finish this wonderful Psalm. And yes, I have written on this before, but this is indeed not a copy but a fresh look at it as God gave it to me again.
Psalm 23, verse 5 - Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (King James)
Wow, I get to talk about food today ... He has prepared a table before me. ALL THE TIME. Think about it, if our God is going to prepare a table before you while your enemies are present, don't you think He will also do it when you are with family and friends or even along? Of course He would. But why would He do it before your enemies? I think what God is telling me here today is we should invite our enemies to the table with us to eat. I could put this on a national scale for when leaders of countries get together to talk about peace, most often they eat together. Now let me put this on a smaller scale, let me bring it home. This coming Monday we have our Memorial Day Celebration (formerly Decoration Day). This day is the unofficial start of summer and the grilling season. We get out those back yard grills, and we have picnics, etc. Please, please, if you have someone you have been not getting along with, invite them to your cookout. A family member, a former friend, or a neighbor, invite them. Use this time to mend fences. Folks, why else would our Lord prepare a table before us with our enemies there, unless He wanted us to mend fences, and AND TALK TO THEM about Jesus? Inside of about 5 weeks, we are going to have 2 very big cookout days ... lots of food ... and why not uses them to make our enemies friends, to bring them into the circle of Christ? Is that not what Jesus told us when He commanded us into the fields of harvest?
He anointest my head with oil. Someday I will write a full message on this. Most often if you run into me, and ask for prayer, I am going to anoint you with oil in the name of our Lord. I carry the oil with me. I have, as I call it, greased up many people even in parking lots. I was with Duane Nicholson, an original member of the Couriers, and the Brotherhood Gospel Group with Tim Beitzel, present Courier, and Douglas Boyer who still heads up Brotherhood Native American Outreach ... Let me tell you this ... Dolores and I were on a big motorcycle following a tour bus to Nashville that was chartered by these gentlemen. The bus was loaded, we paid for our seats and left them resell them so we could take the bike. On the way home, at a truck stop, we got all the people on the bus and Reverend Nicholson, anoint the cycle with oil. Yes, he greased up the windshield of the bike in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
Folks, in faith I anoint people with oil, asking Jesus, again in faith, to heal them. Our Lord God has showed us time and time again about faith healing and faith in the anointing with oil. So if you see me, and we pray together, don't be surprised if you don't also get anointed with oil. Where God leads we should follow.
And the last part, "my cup runneth over." Oh yes, no debate when it comes to God, no need to ask when we look at our glass if it is half full or half empty. We who Love God, know with all our hearts that OUR CUP RUNNETH OVER. For we know our God will take care of our needs and even supply us with such a surplus if we just trust Him, that our storage shelves will even be full. Our biggest problem is not, and here comes a quote of the day from me, our biggest problem when it comes to eating is "not if we will eat, but what we will eat." Here is another, when it comes to getting dressed, it is not "do we have something to wear, but deciding what we will wear." Our pantry is overflowing, our closets are jammed, our dresser drawers are stuffed to the point they do not close ... and in my case, I sometimes need to decide what to drive, as I sort of have a car collection ...
Yesterday I said to Dolores, I am in trouble, I am out of Diet Pepsi, but did I have nothing to drink? Of course not, as the water is flowing from our well, we have bottled water in the frig, I had a gallon of chocolate milk, and there were six or eight quarts of regular milk, plus three kinds of juice in the frig. Yes our cup overflows. And folks, so does yours if you love God. Your cup overflows, remember to share it, for what really runs over, if we are not careful, just might get wasted. Do you know that even the people in the United States we call poor, most have TV, cable, phones, and cell phones, and a lot of them smoke, yet, they sometimes do not have food to feed the family. It is not that God does not supply, it is we the people, make poor choices in life. Now I said it, am I right? And there are people whose cup would overflow if they went to work. For those who WILL not work, should not eat ... again I say Will not work, for there are those who cannot work and we who have need to take care of them ... AMEN.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the table that is overflowing with food and drinks that overflow. And thanks for teaching me about anointing. And thanks for these wonderful words from Psalm 23. Thanks for all you do for us. Thanks for all our needs being furnished, and now Lord, help us today by leading us into the fields of harvest, also into the fields of battle for you, often in the same location, and Lord, please watch over all of those who answer the call, keep them safe in the churches, in the buses traveling the roads, in the prisons where they go, in the jungles of the world, on the streets of our big cities. Regardless of where You lead us who work for You, fill us with the Holy Ghost and keep us going, safe and in tune with You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen, and Amen.
Go forth, sharing The Word of God and also His Love, and watching for your pantry to overflow as you do your sharing. Be careful now, for He is going to fill You and your home to overflowing, don't hurt yourself stocking those shelves. Then give some more. God is good ... Love ya, and remember a special writing tomorrow ... dan.

Thursday: Psalm 23 (day 4)
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Good Morning God, and Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Folks, when we wake in the morning and say good morning to our spouse and to our family and even our pets, I think we should remember to just say good morning to God ... in just those words. Good morning, God.
It is Thursday, and that means it is family day on this line. Let's get something started, let's get it moving across this line. We pledge our flag by saying "One Nation Under God". Let's get this started. How about "This Family, Under God" and we teach our children this. I know our family is just that ... "This Family, Under God". I could see bumper stickers that might read, "One Nation Under God & This Family Under God" on one sticker. Or we could have a sticker saying "This Family Under God" with a cross or a set of three crosses on them.. Yes, I am going to talk to Sharon Ogden who makes our front licenses plates for us to put something together. I know she will read this and get started on it. Yes ... "This Family Under God" and that no one can take from you.
Psalm 23 (Day 4)
Psalm 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (King James)
Today, verse 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. (King James)
Back in 1984 Dolores and I had art work on our motorcycles. On one cycle we had the Statue of Liberty painted on it, and in front of that the display of the Three Crosses on Calvary. Our dear friend, Mr. Neil Enloe, wrote the words and music to a wonderful gospel song called "The Statue of Liberty". The song tells of the cross being our Statue of Liberty, standing for our personal freedom. Also on this cycle we had an open bible painted to verse 4 of the 23rd Psalm and just change the wording a tad... Yea, though I "ride" through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil.
Folks, the Psalm tells us that as we walk though that valley we feel no evil but the fact is, it does not matter if you are walking, riding a cycle, driving a car, or in a lot of cases you are face down crawling, you need not fear evil. Let's relate this to a flock of sheep and a shepherd.. Regardless of where those sheep were led by the shepherd, they trusted in him to take care of them, and we need to do just the same. I want you to really think about this. Before I even came fully to the Lord, when I was on one of my "walk away" times, I found myself face down ... no not in the pig pen, but just down ... going though a divorce, I found my whole world as I knew it then, falling apart. But Jesus was right there with me, even though I was not yet fully with Him.
Back now to the sheep. You know that old shepherd carried that Staff and was it a walking stick, yes and more for it was used when needed to fight off those evil animals. As for our Lord Jesus who is our Good Shepherd, what would be His Rod and Staff that would comfort us? Let's look at what we might just call His Rod and Staff. Let's make a short list.
First how about His word, what we find in our Bibles, The truth about things? And the instruction book it is.
Next, how about the fact we can talk to Him? We just need to say, Dear Father in Heaven, and He is right there with us. We can talk to Him and if we listen, IF WE LISTEN, we will hear Him answer. Might not always be what we want to hear, but He will answer us.
Then comes The Holy Spirit. Now you will not get full power from this until the time you invite Jesus into Your heart, then and only then will you really feel the power of the Holy Ghost.
Then we have the support system of angels, yes, I believe in them. If old Gab can come and talk to Elizabeth and to Mary, why not us? One time I was in a motorcycle accident. I was sitting in a line of traffic on my cycle and was slammed in the back by a large car. I was sent through the air through the windshield of the big Honda Goldwing and it was like I was in slow motion being carried in the air and placed on the street between two lines of traffic one which was moving.
And we also have our Christian brothers and sisters. Watch this one, for some might want to step on you when you are down, but in the most part, a real Christian, one who really follows Jesus, will come to your side and be with You, help you through it. It might be your pastor, or just a friend from church. It might even be a stranger. One who helped me, listen to this. After many back surgeries, I was recovering from one in the Holy Spirit Hospital, our Local Catholic Hospital. Now here I am, now born again and really hurting, and in walks one of the Nuns. What a sweetheart. She was full of the Holy Ghost, and we talked and then we started singing, and we sang and sang. Oh how I love this ... the pain would ease, as this "Lady working for the Lord" was just working for Him. And she helped me remember that Jesus was still in the room, and this also would pass ... and it did. God is good.
Yes, The Rod and Staff will comfort us. For Our Lord Jesus is the Good Shepherd, so fear not.
Dear Father in Heaven ... Thanks for being with us always. Help us to know You are there, and let us feel You. Lord, be with all those today on this line and for the ones who are down, let them feel You. Send them someone as You did me when you sent in the Nun. Use us today as that person. Let us be Your Rod and Staff. Help us today and Lord please bless families. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Go forth, helping others, and you can do this by sharing your blessings, going to retirement homes and helping, taking food to those in need, cooking for those who might need kitchen help. Just remember to work for God, and when you are down, and it does happen, call on Jesus and watch for His Rod and His "Staff" His Staff of workers to help you. Be on the staff of Jesus always ... love ya, dan.
Good Morning God, and Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Folks, when we wake in the morning and say good morning to our spouse and to our family and even our pets, I think we should remember to just say good morning to God ... in just those words. Good morning, God.

Wednesday: Psalm 23 (day 3)
He restoreth my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to Salvation Wednesday on this, the Carry The Light Ministries, praise, prayer and message line. Today is the day we pray for the lost, and we pray that God will lead us to them so that we may lead them to Him. Makes sense to me, I hope it does to you. In short, in my words, get off the couch and get to work for God.
Please pray today for healing for Wanda Hoch, for Pastor Charles Idler, for Pat Parvin, for Vicki and her dad ...
Psalm 23 (day 3)
Psalm 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (King James)
Verse 3: Today, and would you believe it just happened to fall on Salvation Wednesday??
He restoreth my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake. (King James)
Yes, our Lord Jesus has restored my soul and I hope you can say the same. Let me put it this way today, if it has not happened, it is YOUR FAULT, not that of our Lord Jesus. Jesus went to the cross and paid a very big price for us, to free us from our own sins. Remember, He did the work, we just need to, well accept it. If we accept it, then we need to live for Him. Here is a good way to tell if you are saved ... Go to the mirror and look in. It should say saved on your forehead! Ok, I am being funny ... But let me tell you this, if you go to the mirror and see the same grumpy person you have seen before, then you need to question your own salvation. Oh, and when it comes to judging, you surely can judge yourself, inspect yourself. Listen, in short, once you have Christ in your heart, you will change from your own ways. I have heard people cursing and swearing and then telling me they were saved. I question that, for how can you be saved, be living for our Lord Jesus, and at the same time you are ripping Him out? No, no ... You will change and others, others in your life, others at the work place, all those who know you will see a difference. You will change. Now there is one thing when this happens, those who are saved will come to you and pat you on the back, they will hug you, and love you. Those who are not saved will cast your past at you over and over again. Don't let it bother you, for the only one that makes a difference has washed it away. Don't worry about those others who slam you, just pray for them so that someday they will also understand what it means when you can say ... "He restoreth my soul."
Now that next part ... He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Oh, you thought Jesus went to the cross just to save our sorry backsides, no, He did it first to please His own Father, our Father in Heaven. Then He did it for us, and yes, He did it for His name's sake. He wants you to follow in the paths of righteousness and do it for Him, we are to do it to the glory of God, not just for our own glory. May I give you some basic examples ...
When we plant a garden and we work it and things grow, who should have the bragging rights for it? God should, not us. We need to praise God for He gave us the seeds, the ground, the water, the sun, and yes, our own ability to work the earth. When we go to work, and be us a doctor replacing a human part, or making a repair or a mechanic doing a repair on your car, your home, or even your TV or computer is it now all "TALENT ON LOAN FROM GOD" (Rush Limbaugh)? You know, when I first heard Rush say that I thought how nasty is that, and then after thinking about it, I thought, how true it is. Our talent comes from God and is on loan, it for sure can be taken back at anytime. So we give God glory again for our talent. In all we do, God has His hand on it if it is for good. And would you believe, He even blesses the non-believer as well, hoping that someday they will come to Jesus.
So as we look at having our soul restored, we need to remember that He did it for His name sake, and not just ours. I know of no better way on Salvation Wednesday, on the day we talk also about a restored soul, than to go to Jesus in prayer, and just ask Him to clean us up today. Are you with me on this? HEY, I can't do it for you, I can only ask you to pray along and do it in faith. This is not a WE type prayer, we cannot accept Christ for someone else. This is a personal thing between each one of us and our Lord Jesus, so with that said ... Let's clean up our acts today and ask Him to restore our soul, and then let's all live for His name's sake. Ok ... ready!!
Dear Father in Heaven, I do need my soul restored, rested down and cleaned up.. Lord, how we can mess up on any one given day... we slip, we fall, we backslide, and we get all dirty... Wash me today, wash me this day in the blood of Jesus and restore my soul and help me to repent of my sins and live for His name's sake. I sure would appreciate it this morning. And I ask this in faith, in the name of Jesus, knowing He will see my heart and clean me as needed. In the name of Jesus, AMEN.
Go forth now, sharing the blessings, and living and walking in the light of the Lord, for His name's sake. Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Psalm 23 (day 2)
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Get out and vote ... Yes, it is election day, my dear brothers and sisters, and since it is not a major election not many people will go out. However, parents, this is the election that often has people running for our school boards and here in Pennsylvania they can cross file. If they win at the primary election they often win the race. And yes, it is Tuesday and the day we pray for our schools. I did not plan it that way, to fall on the day I talk about voting for school boards. Please pray for our schools and for good people to run them.
Psalm 23 (day 2)
Psalm 23: 1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (King James)
Verse 2 today: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters.
So what is this telling us? As for shepherds, they would take their flocks to the green pastures where they could eat and lay down (like us, right, a nap after a big meal) and then they could get a drink from the still waters. After all, if the shepherds would lead a flock to a field of dirt with no grass they would have nothing to eat and if the waters were raging the animals would be swept away and drown. So that is for the animals, now what about the Good Shepherd, our Lord Jesus and how I think it relates to us?
Let's go way back to where God created the Heavens and the earth. Let's first give Him glory for making the green fields, the rivers and also the animals. Thank You, Jesus. Then Jesus made man and He put man right in the beautiful garden and gave it water and all and gave it all to man, except for one tree of course. But God in His wisdom built man so we need rest, and we all know how we get if we have a night of no sleep or we are not resting well. So think of that green pasture and then think of your home and how after a long day of work you can come home, and stretch out across the bed and rest some. Years ago when in most cases the ladies would stay home and take care of the house, not that you are not taking care of them today, but years ago, way, way back, women would stay home and really work hard at home. Let's face it, they did the wash in that still water or carried the water home. They cooked on wood stoves and did all the cleaning by hand. The men would work the fields, and when tired from working the fields come in for a bit to eat and to stretch out to rest.
So when our Lord made us, He indeed made us so that we would need to lay down in those green pastures and rest. Let me ask you this, can you remember the last time you went someplace and just laid down on the green lawn and took a short nap? Listen to this ...
Last week, LeaAnne from the Bridges called and asked if I would help take some of the people to Boiling Springs Lake. Now those who do not know of this lake, you need to go. It is in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, and is just like those still waters that are mentioned in the 23rd Psalm. And on one side a path to walk and some green grass to lay down on. So I took the offer from this dear sweet young lady and helped with the seniors going to the lake. It was nice, some in wheelchairs, some who walked in from the parking lot and sat on benches. Some sat on the green grass and all except LeaAnne and a couple of helpers rested. Me, I rested, I laid down on that green grass and just watched that still waters ... God is so good. And if you go to this lake or another place like it you will find that what God provided back in those days, He still provides, we just need to take the time to enjoy it. Something this writer needs to do more often. People were fishing, and then those who went with us from the Bridges had bread to feed the ducks and birds. It was great and a great reminder of this ... He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. Someday, take time to go and sit beside the still waters, or take time to do this, fill the tub with water, nice hot water and get in it and sit, relax, rest, then towel off and go lay across the bed. Take time to enjoy a little green pastures and still waters in your home. Or find a nice park or a nice afternoon and rest. Just down the street from our home is a nice big creek and a nice park called Willow Mill. Many people drive there at lunch, sit in their car and watch the water go by. Let's learn again what God gave us, and what He wants us to do. Let's go to the still waters, the green pastures and rest, and enjoy some time alone with God and what He made when He created this earth. Green pastures and still waters ... AMEN.
Dear Heavenly Father, we give thanks this day for You making us a person who does need the rest and for making us to lay down and rest. We have learned over the years that there is a point in which we get so tired we just cannot go on. Help us to lay down and rest before we reach that point and thanks for making good rest and sleep part of what we need. Lord help us, maybe on a Sunday or on our day of rest, to seek out a place along some still waters and look back at these scriptures, maybe Lord take our Bible with us and just read over the 23rd Psalm. Lord how good you are today to us. You never fail us, never ever. Lord, please watch over our schools and today watch over our elections, help the right people be elected for the jobs. Lord, protect our school kids for at this time of year, at the end of the year, drinking and driving seems to be a big thing, and always there are kids who are killed or hurt. Lord, please keep them from doing dumb things. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Go forth now, enjoying your day, maybe taking time to go to some still waters, a nice creek or river and watch the water go past. Please enjoy this day, for indeed it is the day that the Lord has made ... rejoice and be glad in it ... and of course by all means, share your blessings. love ya, dan.

Monday: Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Praise God for another morning. I must confess this morning that after a week of writing like last week I am really praying for a fresh message. I was about two feet in the air last week as I wrote on some of the promises of God and then preached the message on Sunday. So where do I go today? Back in time to the very first of the scriptures I learned. Will you join me this week as I roll back in time and talk about Psalm 23?
Today is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders and also for our military and all others like our police and firefighters that keep us safe. I want you to pray hard for our President. First for his soul and then for him to take a really serious look at life. You would think that someone who has two daughters who are as pretty as his, he would be a pro-life person all the way. Not so, but my dear brothers and sisters, God can change his heart and that should be our prayers for him.
Psalm 23 (Day 1)
Psalm 23: 1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (King James)
Folks, you know I work mostly from my NIV study Bible, but for this old great Psalm, I wanted to bring it out from the King James Version of the Bible. It just seems to flow better. So what did I mean when I said I want to roll back in time? Well, back when I went to school we would read the Bible in class and then say the pledge to our flag. Every day without fail one of us had to read, and folks I am just not a reader, so this scared me a lot. It was a real fear, for kids would laugh at me in reading classes, for I stumbled over words and had a real problem knowing what I read. So with the help of my dear mother, I learned the Psalms 23 and 100 by heart. Now back then when it was a person's turn to read the Bible, we could bring in our own, or use the one on the teacher's desk. Yes, there was always a Bible on the teacher's desk (and a flag hanging in the room). So now after all of this, what does it really mean to me today? Lets take a look.
Psalm 23: 1 - The Lord is my Shepherd. Years ago, back before the days of Jesus and even after that, flocks were in the fields all the time and a shepherd or sheep herder would be with the flock. Remember back then there were no fences and also back then the shepherds would keep away the wild animals that would attack the flock. Back then each one of those sheep would mean something to the farmers and the shepherds. If one of the flock went missing, the shepherd would go out after them. The Lord is my Shepherd, and when I was lost our Lord came looking for me. There is a song written by Phil and/or Marie Armenia (spelling is more than likely wrong on that last name) called I'm The Lamb That The Shepherd Left The Flock For ... and it is a great song. And I am for sure one of those lambs. When I see the picture of Jesus with the lamb in His loving arms, I can picture that lamb as me. How about you folks, have you in your life at one time or another been the one who wandered from the flock? While we do not see shepherds in the fields anymore in our area at least, we still have The Great Shepherd standing over us night and day. I know that Jesus, my Great Shepherd, is standing over me right now, and one of the reasons that I know that is, without Him, how in the world could I begin to write a message in the morning, let alone write a fresh one day after day for now over ten years? If you think I have the talent to do this alone, you are wrong. God is not my co-pilot in life, He is my pilot, He is the Captain of our ship, He is the Master of our domain, and He, thank You Jesus, He is my Shepherd and I am happy to say that I am back in the flock.
Psalm 23: 1 - I shall not want. Folks, one of the things we need to learn is the difference between wanting for what we need and wanting to keep up with or ahead of the neighbors. At one time it was called keeping up with the Joneses, now I think the better term might be just "keeping up with the greed." So what about I shall not want? Folks, I want you to do something right now, right this minute ... I want you to get up from reading this or if at work, do this at home ... Go to your frig and your pantry and open the doors and then go and tell me that you have nothing at all to eat. Then go to the closet and your dresser drawers and tell me you have nothing to wear. On the way around your house doing these things I want you to go into the bathroom, and flush the toilet, pass the kitchen sink and get a drink of water, and while walking take in a couple of very deep breaths of air. Now tell me, are your needs covered? Oh, one more, look up, is there a roof over your head?
Ok, so let's count those blessings right now ... those needs that are furnished ...
1: A roof over our heads
2: Food
3: Water
4: Clothes
5: Air
Now anything past that is a bonus in my book. We are so blessed that we have trouble counting our blessings. God not only takes care of our needs, he provides for a lot of our wants. I mean when we need a car to go to work, do we pray for a car, or do we, and I am one of these, do we pray for a make of car? I say this for I have always been a car nut, a real car nut, I have had over 800 cars, trucks, and buses in my life, and God had me making a living with cars, trucks, and buses. I fell in love with vehicles when I was a little guy, and I had a bunch of those toy cars, and I played with them. I also love trains, but my dear sweet wife, who puts up with my buses, cars, trucks, limos, and even a Hearse at our house, has laid down the line. She said I can't have a caboose. But God is good, when the money was tight, I could sell a car, when the blessings were flowing I would increase the stock. God is good, and I also want you to remember this. When you give to God, He will bless you over and over again. So if you love the Lord, and you are giving to the Lord, and you are not robbing God, then sit back and enjoy those blessings.
Brothers and sisters, I came from a home that did not have much money and we are still that way, but we have so many blessings. My wife and I, our kids, we are very rich for we have the blessings of God, and brothers and sisters, you need to be looking all around you and just thinking how rich you are. Being rich has nothing to do with money, money in the bank, stocks, or even cars, trucks, and buses. It has to do with loving Jesus first and then having family and friends, neighbors, and animals to love ... being rich is being able to get out of bed and eat and breath, and being rich is having a promise someday of a street of Gold and a Mansion ... God is good.
Yes folks ... The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. Do you feel that same way today?
Dear Father in Heaven, I love You, You are my dear, dear Shepherd, You are the leader of our lives and I want to keep it that way. Lord, I confess today that I was so upset yesterday I had to turn the TV off for I could not watch our President give that speech. I yelled at the TV and turned it off. Lord, I should have prayed for him while he spoke. Lord, please open his heart that he might be saved if he is not already and help him flip over on abortion and become a real supporter of life. Lord, turn him around and protect him and his family. Lord, be with our military and with all who work to keep us safe. Lord, thanks for supplying all of our needs and most all of our wants. Lord, teach us to share what You give us. In the name of Jesus ... Amen.
Now go forth sharing those many blessings and then watching them come back over and over again. And please do what I mentioned, check your frig, your pantry, your closet, your water, and your roof ... are you not blessed? Now thank God for it, and share it ... love ya, dan.
Friday: Promises (5)
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all who go into the Fields and work for our Lord Jesus. Brothers and sisters, this was and still is a commandment from our Lord Jesus. Mark 16: 15 - He (Jesus) said to them, (us) "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV) Once again I tell you this does not say, if you have time go, or if you want to go. Jesus has laid down another commandment for all of us. Since He was willing to die for us, since He heals us when we are sick, since He supplies our needs, don't you think we should listen to Him on this one and get off of our lazy backsides and go to work for Jesus?
So pray today for all those workers and if you are not one of them, pray that you get moving. Be a witness for our Lord Jesus. A lot of people laugh at the JW's as they go neighborhood to neighborhood, but are they not doing just what Jesus has commandment us to do? When was the last time your church worked the neighborhood around the church? In my opinion, a lot of the big inner-city churches failed because they would not go work the changing neighborhoods.
Promises (5) - This has been a great week of writing, for the Bible is full of promises that were made to us by our Father in Heaven and by Jesus when He was here on earth. I have written about them all week and I have just touched on it. But I want to wrap it up today, so pardon me if I am about five feet above my chair as I type this ... This to me is the greatest promise ever made by anyone, at anytime or at anyplace. JESUS IS COMING BACK!!!!! The promise has been made by Jesus Himself, do you remember when I told you about this promise the other day?
John 14: 1 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, Trust also in me. 2 In my Fathers house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (NIV)
Revelation 22: 7 - "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of prophecy in this book." (NIV)
Revelation 22: 12 - "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, The First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city." (NIV)
1 Thessalonians 4: 16 - For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. AND SO WE WILL BE WITH THE LORD FOREVER. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, do you hear this promise, Jesus said He is coming back for us, He has gone ahead to prepare the place for us and HE IS COMING BACK ... I SAID HE IS COMING BACK. Are you ready if it happens today, are you really ready, have you been living for Jesus or are you playing games about it? I was there, I did that, you know the Sunday Christian thing. A real Christian follows Jesus all the time, not for one hour like a "goodie two shoe" on just Sunday Morning. And some who go for the hour, sleep through the message. This great promise is coming and I believe coming real soon. God was tired of all the sin and He flooded the earth with water, He will never do it again. He sent Jesus to die for our sins, and it seems to me there are a lot of people that just do not believe it. In the United States of America we are killing babies that are in the womb each day. Our drinking habits have taken many lives in car crashes, our way of life and speed on the roads take more. And now we elect a man president who believes in abortion, in gay marriage, and sat in a church where the pastor damned the Lord ... yes, we need to pray for this president but we do not need to like what he stands for. We need to be praying for him to come to Jesus, for then we would see the change he has promised. We see in our country not just the killings and all those things, we see greed, people buying things and walking away for the bill, charging things and not paying them ... we see kids going to schools of higher education to be taught trash ...
WAKE UP AMERICA, FOR JESUS IS GOING TO FULFILL THE PROMISE HE MADE WHEN HE SAID "I AM COMING BACK". Wake up America, and come to Jesus. Wake up, you who follow Christ, for we have a job to get done before Jesus does come back. Wake your town and tell the peopl. Get out in the fields of Harvest and tell the world. When you talk to your neighbor, ask them, do you know Jesus is coming back? And tell them about the great promise also of Salvation through Jesus. JESUS IS COMING BACK. The dead in Christ, those who loved Jesus and have died, will be risen from the cold grave, and the ones who love Jesus and remain alive will be taken straight to heaven. It is a promise from God, not from me. I am just a messenger today, I am just telling you the way I see it and the way God is giving it to me today. Come on folks, this is a promise of God. Jesus is alive and well and waiting for the day when God the Father sends Him back. Even Jesus does not know when, but He is coming. JESUS IS COMING, I SAID JESUS IS COMING BACK ... Wow, will someone just shout AMEN?
Will you go to prayer with me now asking God to wash you clean today, come to Jesus or renew with Jesus, and be sure you are ready for the day He comes back, or are you going to wash away another chance to get tight with Jesus? He is coming back for believers not doubters, He is coming back for His, not all will make it. Come on folks, I beg you today, come to Christ, or come back to Christ. Been backsliding, get back on track today, get back with Jesus right now ... will you ... not for me, but for your own soul. Will you pray with me right now, right this very minute ...
Dear Father in Heaven, forgive me of my sins and get me ready for the day that You send Jesus back for us. Lord, Father of us all, put us to work for You right now so we can tell others of Your saving grace and Your promise to return for us. Save me now Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Now go forth, sharing the Love of Jesus. And if you don't think I am excited about preaching this message on promise this week, you think again. I am walking about five feet off the floor right now. Jesus made a promise that He is coming back, will you share it with someone today?. That's what I am talking about, you can share your food, you can share your dollars, you can share lots of stuff, but today, SHARE JESUS. Your rewards are coming soon, coming when Jesus comes back ... coming the day when He brings forth this promise ... I AM COMING BACK.
Love ya, dan.

Thursday: Promises (4)
"I will return to you."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a wonderful, just wonderful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, located just outside of Harrisburg, Pa, in the township of Silver Spring. We are having a nice light rain which means God is doing the watering of our garden. God is so good. Before you complain about a rainy morning, think what it might be like if we did not have rain. It is one of the great gifts from our Lord God.
It is Thursday and that means it is family day on the line, the day we pray for families. All of us need to belong to AT LEAST two families. Yes, we have our own family and then we need to belong to the family of God. Let me make this bold statement today. "If one does not belong to the family of God, then his own family suffers." Anyone want to say Amen to that statement?? We also really need to lift high our prayer warrior Vicki and her family for their load is very heavy. Also lift the Saylor family, when you pray. Lift by name, Don, Eleanor, Dan, Robert, and Sharon Saylor. Also please pray for Pastor Charles to get up out of his wheelchair and walk, and pray that he will preach again. Pastor had suffered a stroke.
Promises (4): It is something I just cannot get done and that is tell you all the promises that God has made to us in a one week series of messages. Today I want to look at a few more, and then wrap it up tomorrow. Here is a great promise, found in Malachi and Hebrews ...
Malachi 3: 6 - "I the Lord do not change." (NIV) Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (NIV)
When dealing with others, we sometimes do not know what to expect as people change ... and folks, that is not always a bad thing, for we need to be changing and growing in our Lord Jesus. But all so often things change in life that really throw us a curve, and sometimes that is people, even our family and near friends. One thing in people that changes is, they make promises and do not always keep them. God makes promises that never fail. Our banks and loan companies are in trouble today because of changes. You got the mortgage and then the rates changed and went up, so you could not keep your promise and pay the loan. Our son Glenn runs a family business and manages rental property. So often, so often, people make promises that they will pay the rent and within just months the money does not come in. Or he rents to someone for so many people and then finds out the house is full. So many promises get broken in those rental agreements. People get credit cards, they make charges and when you sign your name you are indeed making promises to pay the bills. Then people break their promises and don't pay. So people break promises to banks and card companies, but what about to God, when it comes to their money? Listen to this ...
Malachi 3: 8 - Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'" "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse, the whole nation of you, because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, please note on this great promise that God tells us that we can test Him on it. Each day on this line I close by telling you to share your blessings, and friends, if you do that, and do it in faith, God is going to bless you and bless you and bless you over and over again.
Let me tell you just how good God is, He takes care of us, listen to these words of our Lord Jesus.
Matthew 6: 25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they?" (NIV)
God provides for the birds and He provides for us. Now listen to this. God provides not just for us who are "Born Again" believers, He provides for those who will stand on the corner and say there is no God. He provides for us also when we backslide. He provides for all of us, each and every one, and He makes that promise and keeps it. Folks, it is time we learn to trust God and that we stand on the promises ... Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for being the same today as yesterday and also for tomorrow, we know that You will always be there for us. Today I just want to thank You for providing for our family, and for all families. Today on this family day, instead of asking for things from You, I want to just thank You for all You have done for all of us. So often we just don't take time to think about it, but be direct or indirect it all comes from You ... Thank You Jesus. And Father I pray in the name of Jesus ... Amen.
Tomorrow, Friday, to me, the greatest promise made by God. Do you know what it might be? Email me and let me know what You think it is. Now go forth and yes, you may test God on this one. Share your blessings, love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Promises (3)
"I am going there to prepare a place for you."
Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Salvation Wednesday on this old prayer, praise and message line. And no better day to look at some of the promises from Jesus about salvation.
Thanks for your prayers for Dolores, she has been in a lot of pain lately, and while we are not sure yet what is causing it all, one thing is noted. She had a spot on her lung that was picked up. It is some scarring from something years ago, a cold or virus, but no cancer and no tumor on the lungs. So we sing and shout the victory once again.
Promises (3): Brothers and sisters, not all promises from our Lord Jesus do we look at as those good things. Sometimes God makes us promises, well sort of like my parents did when I was a little child. When my parents put down a rule and would tell me that I would be punished if I broke it, it was indeed a promise from them. No counting in our family. Jesus set that example when He was here on the earth.
Take this promise for instance. John 14: 6 - Jesus answered. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV) Now while some might be trying to figure another way to get into Heaven to get to the Father, there is none and that is a promise from Jesus. Like it or not, Jesus is the only way. Personally, I like it!!
John 14: 1 - Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (NIV)
Is this not one of the best promises from our Lord Jesus? Now I know He made many and here is another one ...
John 14: 15 - If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, 17 The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans: (NIV)
Now this is Jesus telling us about the Holy Ghost and how the Holy Spirit will dwell in us if we just ask and accept our Lord Jesus as our Savior. It is one of the bonuses that we get when we fall in love with Jesus. Jesus takes care of us. The Bible tells us how God will provide our needs and these promises go on and on and on. Let's pause now and take advantage of this promise and invite the Holy Ghost to enter us and set up house keeping. Come on, if you have done this, then how about renewing today? You know we are to be going into the fields of Harvest and telling others about Salvation through Jesus. How can we do that if we don't have Him in us to start with? Sort of like being on a fund raising committee at a church and not putting up any of your own funds. That is a message for another day. Come on, let's get the Holy Ghost on board. When someone asks you, do you believe in Ghosts, you answer should be, "just one"!
Dear Father in Heaven, I confess I am a sinner and today I ask that You clean me of my sins and send the Holy Spirit upon me and to dwell in me for now and forever more. Moreso Lord, let this Holy Spirit show in all I do, wherever I go, may I walk in step with Jesus and have the Holy Ghost on board with me. Let me sing and shout the praise of God, not just in church but for all to hear. Help us Lord this day ... lead us to the unsaved and help us to bring them to the feet of Jesus so they also might bring on the power, of the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus I pray ... Amen.
Go forth now, sharing love with others, sharing your blessings and sharing the power of the Holy Ghost. And remember to let it out once in a while like this ... Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Promises (2)
"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant (promise) between me and the earth."
Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome to schools day on the Carry The Light Ministries, Prayer, Praise and Message line. Please folks, remember to pray for our schools. Some of Satan's workers and followers MIGHT THINK they can keep God out of our schools, but we who are "Born Again" and really follow Jesus know that you just cannot keep Jesus away. Put Jesus in schools today, send Him in with your kids, send Him in on your lips of prayer and praise. Stop at a school, go to the flag pole and get on your knees and pray. Yes, let's put God back in our schools and let Him head them up.
Promises (2): My quote of the day. "God makes promises that last forever, while those running for office make promises that don't last past election day." One sad thing today is how one group of people are trying to highjack the sign of a great promise of God, the "Rainbow".
Genesis 9: 8 - Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him; 9 I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you---the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you---every living creature on earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you; Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the EVERLASTING COVENANT between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." 17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on Earth." (NIV)
So what do we see here? First, a great promise that will go on forever that God will never again destroy the earth by water. Please note, God DID NOT SAY, He would never again destroy the earth. I want to also point out this and maybe we should take a message out of just this. The rainbow is set as a reminder to God that He made this promise and will not destroy the earth by water. Notice God did not make this rainbow to remind us, it was a reminder to God Himself.
I think when we as men and women make promises to others and even to God, that we should make reminders to ourselves to remind us that we made a promise about doing or not doing something. And when we make the promise to God, and we say we are going to repent, then we should do all we can to make reminders about this.
Now I know I will get into trouble for saying this, but I get upset every time I see a rainbow banner set up by the gay community to show of where they are meeting, having a march or in one case in Harrisburg Pa, and it might be in more then one place, the sign of the rainbow is hanging over the door of what might be called a gay bar. Folks, hear your old pastor out on this one. No sign of God's that is posted by man will cover the sins of what might be going on at that time or place.
There are churches around this land and in most neighborhoods now that preach and teach that this practice of men and men and women and women is ok with God ... NO IT IS NOT. It is like abortion, right now we have a president, yes, President Obama, who believes in abortion, and even late term abortion and even believes that if a child might live through the abortion they should be put in a room to die. It makes me sick to my stomach. And with that said, I want to point out one more promise made to Noah and his sons. I want you to read this and know it comes right from the Bible. I want all those who also abuse animals to read it also ... From Genesis ...
Genesis 9: 5 - And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting for EVERY ANIMAL. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man. 6 "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man." (NIV)
Let me wrap it up with this ... When you make a promise to man or God, really think about it, and then stick to it. All of us have at one time or another broken promises made to others and to God, and for that we need to pray and ask forgiveness. Today I want to pray this prayer and I pray that you will pray it with me.
Dear Father in Heaven: Over the years I have made promises to others, and also Lord, I have made them to You. Some of the promises I broke, and Lord, while in some cases I might try and make an excuse that it was not my fault, today I stand before You asking to to forgive me for promises broken. No excuses today Lord, as I want to accept it all on my own. I am sorry Lord, and I want to make You this promise, I will sure try to do better and try to honor any promise I make both to You and also to my brothers and sisters. Lord, to do this I will need Your help. I need Your help to walk with You daily in all I do and in all I say. Thanks for helping me with this today. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Now go forth sharing your blessings, and when you make a promise in good faith, please try your best to carry it out. And if you can't make it in good faith, then by all means, don't make it.
Tomorrow, more promises from God and maybe one or two from man ... love ya, dan.
