Monday 12/1/14 Waiting

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You very much.  Please forgive me of my sins and wrongdoings.  Thanks for the good news about Jeff and about Dave.  Please keep Your healing hand on them.  Also keep Your hands upon Sean as he travels to Boston.  Be with Joanne and also Danelle.  Thanks for bringing Keith and  his family home safely.  Please help us as we move forward with our food gathering and packing for our Christmas blessings being handed out in Your name.  Please take care of the problem that came forth overnight.  Thanks in advance for that.  Please help me with the message and also to get it dispatched.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, we need your prayers for the food pantry and our food distribution.  We are in need of turkeys, so if you don't mind praying for a few birds to give up their lives for a dinner table.  Also, please remember those two dates.  This coming Saturday, December 6th, starting at 9:00 AM to pick and pack food.  Then the following Saturday, December 13th, and we need you here by 8:30 AM to help with setting up.  The guests are being told to come between 9:30 AM and noon.  75 or more families will be invited.  We are packing for 75 families.  Speaking of turkeys, right now we have 9 of them.  I did put a sign on the roof of the house asking wild turkeys to spend the night, but so far none have stopped by.  Please pray for this line and for another series of messages.  Let me get started.

Monday:  December 1, 2014:  Waiting (Day One)

Psalm 40:1 - I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.  2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  (NIV)

It happened 53 years ago yesterday and today.  I was waiting and waiting, and praying and praying, and after what seemed like forever, out oldest son Glenn was born.  Karen, yes, my first wife, was in labor for 27 hours.  Other than God giving us His own Son and Jesus giving His life for our Salvation, children are our greatest gift and well worth waiting for.  Waiting on God is always worth the wait.  It seems that we sometimes think that God should answer us the moment that our prayer leaves our mouth.  We do need to learn to wait for His answers to our prayers, for surely He has many, many times in our lives waited on us.  I mean when do we pray, or should I put it like this ... maybe our talk with God would go something like this.

Dear Father in Heaven, I need Your touch right now for pain.  Right now, Lord, please, the pain is bad, I stubbed my little toe, do You know, Lord, how bad that hurts me?

My son, I think I know what you might be going through, for I had some nails driven into me for your sins, and it hurt then and it still hurts because you and others are still causing me pain because of your ongoing sin.  Some of those nails went through my feet, and son, that hurt.  Did you have another request?

Well, Lord, while You are at it, would You please arrange for me to get a raise?

My son, I helped you to get that job years ago, and not once did you take time to thank me.  It would be nice to hear from you after I do something for you.  I want you to know, son, that I do love you and I hear all your prayers.

Lord, I do pray more than I used to pray.

My son, it seems that you want more and more.  When will you be satisfied?

Lord, I do give up on praying because it seems that I must wait so long to hear from You.

My son, I went to the cross for you and died for you, and with that my Father raised me from the dead to give you the greatest gift of all, and I am still waiting on you to pick up that gift.  How about that, son?  How long must I wait for you?

Gosh, Lord, I never looked at it that way.  I tell you this today, if You help me with this, if You help me to repent from y sins, I will come to You right now and then I will try my best not to sin and to have more patience and wait upon You as Your word directs us to do.

Okay, son, I am happy to hear that from you, will you come to me now?

Yes, Lord, oh yes, I do believe in You and love You.  And I want to come to You right now.  Please save me, Lord, and I do ask this in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, here is another scripture that will help you to wait upon the Lord.

Psalm 130:5 - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope.  6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.  (NIV)

Now go forth sharing your blessings and waiting upon the Lord.  Love ya.  Please pass on my love.

Pastor Dan

P.S.  If you are not saved, don't wait too long.  He will not recall the gift, but He will recall you and if you have not picked up the gift when you get recalled, you are going to go to HELL!!
