Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much. Please forgive me of my sins and start me fresh again with You. Please help me now as we move forward with the message. Please watch over our President and his family as they fly out tonight for their vacation. Please keep watch over families and please, Lord, please help pastors preach about Your Word and the Truth when they preach and teach to those who only go to church on Christmas and Easter. Please be with and heal the others we have been praying for and please show us where our son Matthew is located. Now Lord, please help me with the message and to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, please keep praying for Dave Fortney as after his bad fall, he had a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and is learning things all over again. Please also keep praying for Dolores, Patsy, Burt, Barbie and others we have listed. Please pray for our President and all others who will be traveling over the long holiday period of Hanukah, Christmas and New Years. I want to get on with the message. We need to get moving out. So let's fire up School Bus 36 and move out.
Friday and Saturday: December 19/20, 2014: The Big Trip (Day Ten)
Luke 2:3 - And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. (NIV)
Today I want to warm up this bus and get ready for the big trip. Let's see what animals they are going to use for this trip. I asked Thursday about how long this trip might take. The short trip, about 70 miles the way the crow flies, might be about that distance today because of roads and highways. In a vehicle it would take about one hour now, but back then walking, three to five days. Today I want to watch as they ready for this trip. What animals do you think they might use and how many?
As we park and we watch we are seeing more than Joseph going to a stable to get an animal, remember the scripture tells us, "So Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth." In other words all the people were going to their hometowns while some would be heading to other hometowns and some would be coming to Nazareth or other places. But we are going to just watch those going from Nazareth in Galilee on to Bethlehem. Look, here comes a couple of men with camels, here comes another with a horse. Oh, here comes Joseph, and he is leading a DONKEY, and look at that, look at that donkey, it has a cross on its back. Let me just tell you about the donkey, you see each donkey has a cross on its back, yes, even today, you check me out on this one. If the donkey is dark colored there will be a light stripe from the back of its neck to its tail, and a stripe across the donkey from one front shoulder to the other front shoulder. If it is a light colored donkey the stripe would be dark. Check it out for yourselves, when it was called to my attention, I checked it out.
Look at that, Joseph is fixing a blanket on the back of the donkey. Now it looks like some of their things are getting put on the back of the camel, seems like some are sharing that load a tad. Don't get too near that camel, it will spit on you. Joseph is going back into his home. People are starting to gather now, could they carry enough food for this trip? Don't worry, God provided then as He does now. Look, here comes Joseph back and he is holding the hand of Mary, gosh, that is so cute. Will he open the door for her? Oh, I forgot, they are walking. Look, Joseph is lifting Mary up onto the donkey. He is such a gentle man and so very strong and that donkey is standing firm, no jerking around or jumping. Remember, Mary is in that motherly way. It is time to move out on the trip. Of course we are going to wait to get going on this Big Trip. I want to write on Sunday as we will need those days to make those miles.
Go forth now and share your blessings. Remember God loves you, and so do I. Please pass on the love of God to others, and you may pass on my love also.
