Wednesday 3/26/14 Betrayed 2

Dear Heavenly Father:  I love You very much.  Dear Father, please forgive me of my sins this day.  Lord, thanks for watching over family and friends.  Thanks for watching over this line and the flock who follow it.  Thanks for our flock at The Bridges and I ask You please to watch over them.  Please, dear Lord, heal Dave and please, Lord, leave him  here with us.  We love You, Lord, and on this our Salvation Wednesday, please lead us to folks who we can help lead to You to be saved.  Father, please be with those on our prayer lists that need Your healing hand.  Thank You, Lord, for all the food we brought in today.  Now, Lord, if You would please help me with the message and then help me dispatch it, I would appreciate it.  All honor and glory to You this day for a great day.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line.  What a great day after we got past the Indian snow, you know those squalls!  Anyway, they slicked the roads and people did not slow down and slam bang and a bunch of cars become trash.  Anyway, please keep praying for Dave and for God's will to be done.  We have put David into the loving arms of Jesus for His will and not ours to be done.  Pray for his wife Linda and his mother Beverly.  Grant and I set out this morning with trailer in tow to pick up food for God's food pantry.  We went to Newport where we were gifted lots of snack food, and then to Mutzabaugh's food market where we had ordered 168 pounds of hot dogs and 50 cases of mac and cheese, plus a lot of cases of veggies.  When we arrived back at the food pantry, the trailer was loaded front to back and from floor to ceiling.  GOD IS GOOD, PRAISE THE LORD.  Soon Wanda came and the trailer was off-loaded.  Now we are looking for a good price to purchase  hams for our Easter food distribution.  Let me get to the message, Betrayed.

Salvation Wednesday, March 26, 2014, Betrayed (Day Two).

Psalm 41:9 - Even my close friend, who I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.  (NIV)

Psalm 109:1 - O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, 2 for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.  3 With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, how long has it been since someone betrayed you?  Yesterday, maybe even this morning?  Or how long has it been since you betrayed someone else?  Let me suggest that maybe sometimes we get betrayed or we betray someone else when gathered around the coffee pot in the break room.  Sometimes people gather around the coffee pot and people start talking about others, and this gossip can lead to betrayal.  Yesterday I used the phrase "stabbed in the back."  Sometimes others will betray us and they do not even mean to do that, or we might betray others and not really mean to do it.  Someone might have told you something as a friend and you just could not keep it to yourself, you had to be first to announce that news, and that betrayed, maybe even your best friend.  A couple of girls say are really close, and the one thinks she is going to have a baby.  She tells her friend and says please do not tell anyone, for I have not even told my husband yet.  But the girlfriend tells someone else and soon it gets back to husband, whose wife was going to give  him a surprise announcement, and she was betrayed.  Yes, some betrayals seem so small but still they are betrayals.  Think what it would be like if you went to the altar of your church, you were having a really hard time and you confessed your past to your pastor or priest.  Then on Sunday morning you find you are mentioned in the sermon.

Now that was small stuff, small betrayals compared to what that computer hacker has done to the United States of America.  A trusted employee of our government and he goes to Russia and tells all the military secrets.  In one big movement this man betrayed his dear parents, all citizens of the United States of America, and even his Lord, if he so worships God.

Again I mention today that I personally feel that when we sin, and we really should try and repent, but when we sin we are really betraying our Lord Jesus, and we are also betraying one other person we are to love dearly.  Think about this, brothers and sisters, we are to love God with all our hearts, our souls, and all of our minds, and we are to love our neighbors as ourselves.  The person beside God we are betraying is our very own self.

Today let us try two things, let us try not to sin, and let us try not to betray God or others.  Okay, see you tomorrow.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on that love.

Pastor Dan
