Friday 3/28/14 Betrayed 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins, dear Lord, and help me with the message of this day.  Thanks for watching over family and friends this day.  Lord, please, please be with our nation's leaders as our president travels and they deal with what is going on with Russia.  Lord, please be with the families of those who have loved ones missing in the missing airplane.  Please be with all those families that lost their homes in the big fire in Lewistown.  Lord, please be with Dave and please, Lord, turn him around.  Lord, be with Patsy and clear her of this sickness she has.  Be also with Burt.  Lord, help me to heal from the fall and get up and get things done.  Lord, be with Dolores also.  Lord, I want to work each day for Jesus and to get His word out.  I feel I have been slacking, Lord, and I need Your help.  After the message today, help me to get it dispatched and then, Lord, help us get caught up on our daily Bible study.  In the blessed name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters.  Please keep Dolores and me on your prayer lists for awhile.  She is hurting from the twisting and turning of her body, and I guess on me, the fall hit me harder than I figured.  Also please keep prying for Dave.  Pray also for his wife and family.  And pray for our nation, for I think we are indeed in big "do-do" and our president needs all the prayers we can give him.  Patsy and her friend Barb are also very sick.  Keep Burt in your prayers also.  Now, brothers and sisters, I want to get moving on the message and finish the series o Betrayed.

Friday:  March 28, 2014, Betrayed (Day Four).

Luke 22:47 - While He was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them.  He approached Jesus to kiss Him, 48 but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"  49 When Jesus' followers saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, should we strike with our swords?"  (NIV)

The more I read the Bible and take a close look at the scriptures the more the Lord Jesus opens them up to me.  The other day we took a look at how Judas betrayed Jesus as recorded in the gospel of Matthew.  Today we take a look at the same scriptures as recorded in the book of Luke.  We find in this scripture Judas was called out by Jesus before he had the chance to give Jesus a kiss.  Now Judas had already betrayed Jesus and did that when he took the silver coins and made the deal.

Let me look at the "kiss of betrayal" (my term) and see if we can find other times a kiss is used to seal a deal.  When a couple gets married one of the last official acts of that pastor or other official who does the service is to tell the groom, "You may kiss your bride."  When I perform the wedding service I will say at the end of the service, "By the authority trusted to me by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and our Lord Jesus Christ, I now pronounce you husband and wife."  While I WILL NEVER MARRY A MAN TO A MAN OR A WOMAN TO A WOMAN, think about who all one would need to BETRAY to do that act.  First of all it is not legal in Pennsylvania, and if it was, that would NOT make it legal in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So who would I be betraying if I performed a gay marriage?  First, I would be BETRAYING our Lord Jesus Christ.  The one who died for me on the tree would be betrayed.  When I would say I now pronounce you husband and husband or wife and wife and say you may kiss, well, how would you say it?  Anyway, I do not need to worry about this, because I will never officiate at a gay wedding.  Anyway, there is at least one other person that I would be betraying besides my dear sweet Jesus, and would any one of you like to know who that other person might be?

The other person who would have been BETRAYED would have been me, Daniel W. Lehman.  Yes, brothers and sisters, if I were to break the laws of the state, and more so the laws of our Lord Jesus, I would be betraying myself. Yes, brothers and sisters, when we break laws and when we do things against the will of God, we are not just betraying our Lord, but we are also doing some "SELF-BETRAYAL."  Up until now we talked about betraying others, about betraying God, about others betraying us, but we have not mentioned one bit about how we can betray out very own selves.  A lot of self-betrayal can be tied right into your own worth and what you think about yourself.  I am sure you have heard that saying, "let your conscience be your guide."  I think, dear brothers and sisters, if we would not betray God and not betray our own selves, we would not betray others.  So remember the heart of this lesson is to love your Lord, love your neighbor and yes, love yourself.  Now go forth and try your best not to betray others and not betray God and yourself.

Now please remember to share your blessings and know this.  I love ya, and please pass on the love of Jesus and my love to others.

Thursday 3/27/14 Betrayed 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Please, dear Father, forgive me of my sins.  Please, Lord, I want to thank You for trusting us to work for You each day, and I would appreciate if You would keep us going so that we might keep working for You.  Thanks for lifting me when I am down and keeping me going so I can work for You.  Thanks for hearing our prayers on Barbara and healing her so she could go home from the hospital.  Thanks also for healing Glenn and Marie.  Thanks also for helping to empty the plate of Grant and Wanda.  Give them much needed rest, Lord.  Father, we are still calling on You to  heal our dear David and leave him with us, Lord.  Lord, please heal Patsy from the flu and also the staff where she is living.  Help them, dear Lord.  Lord, be with our president as he deals with the concerns of our nation.  And Lord, while he was with the Pope, I pray he turned his life over to Jesus.  Now, please help me with the message and help me then to dispatch it.  And Lord, please watch after families, and Lord, please watch over our Matthew.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I am so ready for warm weather, how about you?  Most all of our snow has now melted, just a few piles here and there.  I saw on the news tonight about a United Methodist church that was working together turning out Easter eggs to raise money.  The lady in charge when interviewed made the statement that they make eggs and get CAUGHT UP ON THE GOSSIP OF THE CHURCH.  So that brings me back to our subject again on being Betrayed.

Thursday:  March 27, 2014, Betrayed (Day Three).

Matthew 26:14 - Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and asked "what are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?"  So they counted out for him thirty silver coins.  16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand Him over.  (NIV)

Proverbs 11:13 - A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.  (NIV)

How much money would it take for you to sell out your best friend?  Do you know that most people will betray a friend for nothing at all and sometimes don't think a thing of it?  It is called gossip!!  Jesus was sold out for thirty coins by Judas when He was walking the face of this earth.  Today He is sold out for far less than that.  He was sold out by the United Methodist pastor who did the gay marriage.  Now what do you think about this statement?  I want to hear from you on this.  How much do you pay others?  Let me repeat that, how much do you pay others to betray Jesus?  Think about that, folks.  If you are putting your dollars into a collection plate at a church that supports things that go against the will of God, you are INDEED PAYING FOR THE BETRAYAL OF OUR LORD JESUS.  If you are sitting around at a church making candy eggs to support the work of your church and your church supports things that are against the will of God, who are you really working for?

What did you do today to promote our Lord Jesus?  And what did you do to betray Him?  Again I think that in a way we betray Jesus each time we sin, but when we support things with our voice, our vote, and even our dollars that are against the will of God, we are indeed supporting the betrayal of our Lord Jesus.  That's it for today, short and to the point.  Please do not support others who support the betrayal of Jesus or promote the work of Satan even if it is in your very own church.

Now go forth and share your blessings and your love of Jesus.  Love ya, and please pass on the love.

Pastor Dan

And please pray for our President.  (Like all of us, he needs it.)

Wednesday 3/26/14 Betrayed 2

Dear Heavenly Father:  I love You very much.  Dear Father, please forgive me of my sins this day.  Lord, thanks for watching over family and friends.  Thanks for watching over this line and the flock who follow it.  Thanks for our flock at The Bridges and I ask You please to watch over them.  Please, dear Lord, heal Dave and please, Lord, leave him  here with us.  We love You, Lord, and on this our Salvation Wednesday, please lead us to folks who we can help lead to You to be saved.  Father, please be with those on our prayer lists that need Your healing hand.  Thank You, Lord, for all the food we brought in today.  Now, Lord, if You would please help me with the message and then help me dispatch it, I would appreciate it.  All honor and glory to You this day for a great day.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line.  What a great day after we got past the Indian snow, you know those squalls!  Anyway, they slicked the roads and people did not slow down and slam bang and a bunch of cars become trash.  Anyway, please keep praying for Dave and for God's will to be done.  We have put David into the loving arms of Jesus for His will and not ours to be done.  Pray for his wife Linda and his mother Beverly.  Grant and I set out this morning with trailer in tow to pick up food for God's food pantry.  We went to Newport where we were gifted lots of snack food, and then to Mutzabaugh's food market where we had ordered 168 pounds of hot dogs and 50 cases of mac and cheese, plus a lot of cases of veggies.  When we arrived back at the food pantry, the trailer was loaded front to back and from floor to ceiling.  GOD IS GOOD, PRAISE THE LORD.  Soon Wanda came and the trailer was off-loaded.  Now we are looking for a good price to purchase  hams for our Easter food distribution.  Let me get to the message, Betrayed.

Salvation Wednesday, March 26, 2014, Betrayed (Day Two).

Psalm 41:9 - Even my close friend, who I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.  (NIV)

Psalm 109:1 - O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, 2 for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.  3 With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, how long has it been since someone betrayed you?  Yesterday, maybe even this morning?  Or how long has it been since you betrayed someone else?  Let me suggest that maybe sometimes we get betrayed or we betray someone else when gathered around the coffee pot in the break room.  Sometimes people gather around the coffee pot and people start talking about others, and this gossip can lead to betrayal.  Yesterday I used the phrase "stabbed in the back."  Sometimes others will betray us and they do not even mean to do that, or we might betray others and not really mean to do it.  Someone might have told you something as a friend and you just could not keep it to yourself, you had to be first to announce that news, and that betrayed, maybe even your best friend.  A couple of girls say are really close, and the one thinks she is going to have a baby.  She tells her friend and says please do not tell anyone, for I have not even told my husband yet.  But the girlfriend tells someone else and soon it gets back to husband, whose wife was going to give  him a surprise announcement, and she was betrayed.  Yes, some betrayals seem so small but still they are betrayals.  Think what it would be like if you went to the altar of your church, you were having a really hard time and you confessed your past to your pastor or priest.  Then on Sunday morning you find you are mentioned in the sermon.

Now that was small stuff, small betrayals compared to what that computer hacker has done to the United States of America.  A trusted employee of our government and he goes to Russia and tells all the military secrets.  In one big movement this man betrayed his dear parents, all citizens of the United States of America, and even his Lord, if he so worships God.

Again I mention today that I personally feel that when we sin, and we really should try and repent, but when we sin we are really betraying our Lord Jesus, and we are also betraying one other person we are to love dearly.  Think about this, brothers and sisters, we are to love God with all our hearts, our souls, and all of our minds, and we are to love our neighbors as ourselves.  The person beside God we are betraying is our very own self.

Today let us try two things, let us try not to sin, and let us try not to betray God or others.  Okay, see you tomorrow.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on that love.

Tuesday 3/25/14 Betrayed

Dear Heavenly Father:  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins this day and help me repent from doing them again.  Dear Father, thanks for watching over family and friends, and thanks for helping me type with a cast on my hand.  Lord, I just want to work for You each day.  Lord, be with the Saylor family.  Touch the Emigs, and please, Lord, heal my dear friend Dave.  Lord, help Dolores as she struggles each day, and Lord, please send help for our Easter packing.  Lord, be with Grant and Wanda and help them with their load and be also with Grant and me as we set out tomorrow to bring in a trailer load of food.  Lord, please keep us strong and working each day for You.  Help me now with the message and then please help me dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, it is snowing at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  I pray all is okay with you folks this day.  I really needed that day off yesterday.  I had a great typing teacher at John Harris High School, and she, Mrs. Railing, taught me to use all my fingers to type, so I struggle to try and type otherwise, so I am learning to type with a cast on and making my fingers work.  I am learning.  So if I misspell a few words, today I will call them typing errors.  Please keep praying for Dave and also for our nation.  Happy birthday today for my youngest son.  Martin Martin Jr. is one year old today.  Born in Oklahoma, Martin Martin is a Yorkshire Picki and is four pounds.  Is this a rumor of war or is it going to be a real war?  Now let me get to work on the message, "Betrayed."

Tuesday:  March 25, 2014, Betrayed (Day One).

Matthew 26:47 - While He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived.  With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.  48 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them; "The one I kiss is the man; arrest Him." (NIV)

Today as Jesus pointed to me about being betrayed, He also laid on my heart that He, Jesus, is still being betrayed, even as I type this message.  Let me ask you this today.  Have you ever been betrayed?  I mean where you had a good friend who, well, for the lack of a better term, "stabbed you in the back."  I think we all know of someone who while working and wanting to "climb the ladder" would betray everyone they needed to betray to get that better job or promotion.  People sometimes forget who their real true friends are!!

I have been thinking about this a lot this morning and truly believe that when we sin, we indeed are betraying our Master and Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.  I believe if we really tried to look at our sins, and yes, brothers and sisters, I am a sinner also, and I believe that when we sin it is like driving another nail into our Dear Jesus.

I want you to look back in your life and think about your past and think about two things.  First, think about over the years who might have betrayed you.  Then please forgive that person.  Then look and see who you might have betrayed and then pray that they have or will forgive you.  Jesus had twelve disciples and one of them betrayed Him.  One of them sold our Jesus out, yes, sold Him out.  I ask this question today, how many pastors and church leaders are selling out Jesus by supporting gay marriage and abortion?  How many of us are selling out Jesus and betraying Him because we have had a chance to witness about Jesus and for some reason, maybe even fear of talking to others, missed talking to someone who is not saved?  It is hard to sit in this chair and be typing a message knowing full well that Jesus is telling me that I have betrayed Him in the past, and even now when I mess up and sin, I am betraying Him.  Trust me when I say I do not want to betray my Savior, I want to be one of the eleven that did not.  I want to be one who is called to be a fisher of men, I want to help get the word out and I want to love on Jesus and not betray Him.  I want my love for Him to grow deeper and deeper and I pray you want the same type of love affair with Jesus.

Let's start today by trying not to be a Judas, try not to betray Jesus or anyone else for that matter.  Work hard to get His word out to others, and please trust and obey Him.  Our scripture tells us that Judas told others who He was by kissing Him.  Today I want to hug on Jesus and love on Him and not betray Him.  WILL YOU JOIN ME, IF SO, JUST SAY AMEN.

Now brothers and sisters, go forth and share your love and share your blessings, and then when done in faith, watch your blessings grow.  Love ya, and please pass on that love to others.

Friday 3/21/14 Goals 4

Praise You, Jesus.  Thank You, Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven.  What a beautiful day You have given us on this first full day of spring.  Thanks, Jesus, for the great report today from the heart doctor, the cardiologist.  Wow, all glory and honor to You.  Lord, I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins and  help me with this message today.  Please, Lord, watch over David, Patsy, Burt, Vicki, the Saylors, Grant and Wanda and their family.  Lord, help these fine people, please.  Please, Lord, help me with my message for Sunday morning and please help Dolores as she readies to play.  Help those who are coming for food tomorrow and keep them safe.  Help us to get a crew together to  help pack food and also to distribute it.  Now, dear Lord, please help me with the message and then bless it as it is dispatched with Your hand upon it.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, what a great big wonderful day this first day of spring has been here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  Let me please bring you up to date on a few things.  We still need help on April 5th for picking and packing and on April 12th to pray for folks coming for food and also to help load cars.  Update on me.  As you know, I did what I called a header out of the food pantry and landed on my head.  My face was busted up some and our neighbors, Art and Elaine, came over and helped me up and cleaned me up.  The next morning I felt like I was run over by a bulldog, one on the hood of a mack truck.  Also for a long time now I have been having chest pains and I have not said much, just gave it to God each day.  Yesterday, Dolores told me I just had to go and get my left hand checked as it was about twice the size it should have been  Okay, my left hand is broken, and I now have a cast that makes it very hard to type.  She put on a real cast that, believe it or not, I can take off.  So my hand is now on the way for God to knit my bones together.  My glasses were also bent up and one lens was messed up.  Well, glasses were covered by a warranty and a new lens is on the way.  Then off to the heart doctor, and I just knew he was going to send me to the hospital.  GOD WAS THERE FIRST.  PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR ALL HE DOES.  I had a perfect checkup at that doctor's, and my tests were perfect.  No need to change or add meds, my heart is great, and God is so good.  Okay, so I have a broken hand but a good heart.  Sounds good to me.  I love You, Jesus, and brothers and sisters, thanks for praying for me.  I love all of you.  Don't ever tell me that God doesn't heal.  Now I will watch as He knits my bones together.  Okay, let me get going on the last day of GOALS.

Friday:  March 21, 2014, The first full day of spring, Goals (Day Four).

1 Timothy 1:3 - As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies.  These promote controversies rather than God's work, which is by faith.  5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.  (NIV)

1 Peter 1:8 - Thou you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even thou you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy.  9 For you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.  (NIV)

As we set our goals in life we should be setting goals for working for God and those goals should be above all other goals we set in our lives.  Our goals should be to repent from sin, come clean with Jesus, follow His commands of keeping God first and loving our neighbors, but not to limit our goals to just those two great commandments.  Our goal should be to tell others all about Him and to tell them they really should be doing what we are doing for Him.  In all things we do, we really should put Him first.  In your very own family when raising your children, your goal should be to raise them in the name of Jesus.  Make your goal to always have Jesus first in your life.  And if you look at our scripture from 1 Peter, we have not seen Him now, so we make our goal to walk in faith, and the reward for us making our goal walking in faith will be salvation through Jesus Christ and being able to see Him face to face some sweet day.

So brothers and sisters, set your goals high, set them heavenly high, make them Godly goals, goals that will please our Jesus, our beloved Jesus.  And in life watch out for the old goal tender named Satan who wants to block you out.  Also set goals to live daily for God and to talk to Him a lot and to always read my message.  (Just kidding on the last one, but it would be nice.)

Now go forth and share your blessings.  I love ya.  Please share that love.

Pastor Dan

Thursday 3/20/14 Goals 3

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You.  Thanks for a great day.  Lord, please help me with this message that I wanted to put out on Thursday.  Help me then get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I want to get right on to the Thursday message, because it is already late on Friday.  When I start the Friday message, I will update you on what is going on.  I have had a few days of Goals that I had to get done.  So let me get right to the message.

Thursday:  March 20, 2014, Goals (Day Three).

Philippians 3:13 - Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do:  Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  (NIV)

Here on earth we est goals.  In sports when we win the event we get a prize.  Years ago I raced a Saab automobile and my goal was always to win.  There were several trophies in each class and it was always nice to go home with not only the fastest in my class but the fastest of all classes and then I would go home with two trophies.  Here on earth we often set goals that come with trophies, prizes, rewards, etc.  But we who love the Lord, really and truly love the Lord, and have been "born again," know and understand that while God blesses us over and over again here on earth, if we really serve the Lord with gladness and carry out His commands and we meet the goals He sets for us, our rewards will be waiting for us in Heaven.  One very important prize we get when we meet our goals for the Lord, and one of the very, very best, is, are you ready for this?  Are you really sure about being ready for this?  Are you really, really sure that you are ready for my answer on this?  I did get the answer from the Bible.  What is the prize I get for making the goals set by God?  Well, it is this.  Are you really sure you are ready for my answer?  Okay, here we go.  I'm going to live forever!!  Yes, Jesus did die for me, and yes, by accepting Him as my personal Savior and following His commands, I am indeed going to live forever.  And someone said AMEN!

Now go forth and share your blessings.  I will be right back with the message for Friday.  Love ya.  Please pass on that love.

Wednesday 3/19/14 Goals 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You, Lord.  Please wash me clean of sin this morning.  Thanks for taking us through the night.  Lord, help us work for You this day and every day by going out and working in Your fields of harvest.  Once again, dear Lord, I pray that the missing airliner is found and that the folks on board are alive.  I also pray for our nation and President Obama and his family and all others that are working to lead this nation.  Please be with Pastor Kevin Brown and his flock from Lighthouse Baptist Church as they lay plans for a mission trip.  Lord, please touch Dave and heal him.  Lord, hug Jim Orner's family as  his uncle has passed.  Lord, be with us in Carry The Light Ministries as we gather food and helpers to work our Easter event.  Now, Lord, if You would please open Your Word to me today in the form of a message and help me dispatch it, I would appreciate it. Oh, and Lord, I need Your help, I hurt and I am dizzy.  And Lord, one more request.  Please bless the new Catholic Bishop, Bishop Gainer.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, it is Salvation Wednesday on this line and the day we pray extra for the lost and that we  might be used to reel them in for Jesus to save.  Yes, we are to be fishers of men and the term reel them in fits.  Please remember, not one of us can save them, just Jesus, but we need to be working for Him to "soften them up" and teach them about Jesus.  It needs to be our GOAL for each day.  Regardless of your church, please pray for the new Catholic Bishop, as you would pray for a pastor in your church.  He will lead 1/2 million sheep in the Harrisburg area.  We also need to be praying for our nation and what is going on in Russia.

Food Pantry news.  Our numbers are going up for Easter.  We are about to do a "call up" and it looks like about 70 families will be called.  That means on packing day we will need to pack and store 350 big bags of food.  Help is needed to pack on April 5th from 9:00 AM until done (about 2 hours). Then on April 12th we need help in the form of prayer warriors, parkers, loaders, etc.  It is fun and goes fast.  The folks come at 9:00 AM.  Helpers need to be here by 8:00 AM.  Your support is needed and it is a good way to "share your blessings."  Now forward on to the message on this LAST full day of winter.  Yipppppppiiiiiieeeee!!!!.  AMEN.

Salvation Wednesday:  March 19, 2014, Goals (Day Two).

2 Corinthians 5:6 - Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.  7 We live by faith, not by sight.  8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.  9 So we make it OUR GOAL to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.  10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, once again I want to talk to you about goals, and the goals we set, be they long-term or short-term.  I think one of the goals for a lot of us was to get through this very long and cold winter.  If that was one of your goals, you have a day to go and you made it.  As I mentioned, we all should make a goal of working for Jesus, getting His word out and that is true for each day.  Another goal we should have is to have our very own self ready for our face-to-face meeting with our Lord Jesus.

As we can see in our scripture of today, we should always be confident and know that when we are in this earthly body, we are not present (face-to-face) with the Lord.  The scripture also tells us that we live by faith and not by sight.  We need to have faith in our good Lord that all the promises in the Bible are true and correct and someday we will meet Jesus face to face.  And our GOAL, according to the scripture, should be to please Jesus, be we in our earthly body or with Him.  The Bible also tells us we will all be judged when we stand before Him on Judgment Day and we will receive what is due us, GOOD OR BAD.  Our daily GOAL should be to do GOOD in all we do.

Each day we have many goals.  Today, for instance, I have a goal to get this message out to you.  That is a double goal, as the message is working for God and you folks, whom I refer to as my online flock.  Yes, I take this writing very seriously, and when I do not get it out and get it right, I get upset, for I feel I am letting down first God, who gave me the assignment, and all those of you who so faithfully over the years remain on the line.  Other goals I have each day are to pray a lot, do our Bible study, take care of Dolores, our many animals, the food pantry, and all the other daily chores so we do not get too far behind.  We also have a goal of paying our bills the day they come in.  Praise God, the more we do for Him, the easier it is to keep up with our bills, even our really big electric bills this winter. Beside our electric heat pump, we have four large freezers and one fridge running in the food pantry, plus one personal fridge.

You folks also need daily goals, and regardless of your condition, you can still have a goal to love God and to treat others with respect, have a goal to love your neighbor, to tell the truth, and a goal to follow the commandments of God.  No one said your goals in life will be easy, for they are not always easy and some days you will think you will not get any of them done.  When you are struggling, reach out more in prayer for God.  Look at the good things and LET GO OF THE BAD.

When I look back at my many days I spent on the sidelines of the football field watching my oldest two grandsons play football, I can remember a few goals they had.  Mine was to be in the huddle before the game and offer up a prayer.  Theirs was to win.  As I got older I was on a scooter at many games.  I remember two wonderful events.  One was when Keith Jr. blocked a field GOAL for his team.  The other when he scored a touchdown.  He came running to me on the sideline and said, "Hey, Pap, I made a touchdown."  He had crossed that GOAL line.  Why bring it up?  Well, brothers and sisters, our goals change often, even day by day, but once again the goal of working for the Lord should be daily and those of you with little  ones should plant that goal on their hearts and minds.

I think you have the point of today's scripture.  Make your goal to serve God, be it in your earthly body or when you get to heaven.  Our goal forever and ever is to serve the Lord, even in  heaven.  Please go back to the top and re-read the scripture.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  And yes, I really do love all of you very, very much as you are my assigned flock.  Please pass on my love to others.

Tuesday 3/18/14 Goals 1

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You, and I give You praise for another day.  Please start me fresh by forgiving me of my sins.  Yes, Lord, please give me that morning shower fresh from You.  Dear Father, I do  have a few new prayer requests this day, and Lord, as I add these on, please keep watch over those we prayed for yesterday.  Please place Your hand upon Donna and her husband and their family.  Please touch Beverly, Michael, and Michael's family.  Also be with Todd who has surgery coming and also touch Christopher.  Lord Jesus, I place again my dear brother in Christ, David, in Your hands.  Lord, touch Dolores, and Lord, be with our family, our online family, our family at The Bridges, and also my family of bus drivers.  Watch over Matthew, please, and Lord, please send us some pickers and packers to get ready for our Easter food drive for the hungry.  Lord, bless this ministry.  Now, Lord, if you would bless me with a message, I surely would appreciate it, and then help me, please, get it dispatched.  I love You, Lord, and I pray in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, please pray for those listed above.  Also, I want to make a change on this line.  You know the older I am getting the more I like looking back.  After all, I was born back when the Dead Sea was still sick, well, just kidding on that one, but the car motors were called Flat Heads.  I have been writing daily messages for nearly 20 years now, and we have been singing for twenty years.  So I pray you will like what I do, when starting Monday, and each Monday for awhile I am going to write on the subject called "looking back."  Yes, it will still be a prayer line and even the message, Looking Back, will be tied to scripture and to God.  Then on Tuesdays, I will tart the weekly series.  So let me get to the series of this week, GOALS.

Tuesday, March 18, 2014, Goals (Day One).

Luke 31:2 - At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to Him, "Leave this place and go somewhere else.  Herod wants to kill You."  32 He replied, "Go tell that fox, 'I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.'  33 In any case, I must keep going today, tomorrow and the next day -- for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!"  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, this past Sunday morning, 43 race car drivers with great crews all got up, all having one goal, to win the race at Bristol.  One made that goal, and the other 42 did not reach the goal.

We see in our scripture that Jesus set an example for us and for me on this subject when this morning while praying for a subject He planted on my mind the subject on goals.  I was sitting on the edge of the bed and running through my mind some things I wanted to get done today.  Yes, I try each day to set goals for that day, and I try and finish them.  When praying about Goals this morning I told Jesus that one goal that I want to be the same each day is getting His word to the world and working for Him.  That would be a major goal, the rest of my daily goals would be of lesser importance.

Today, for instance, I set for myself the following goals.  Get up at 4:30 AM and I did, that was easy, I love to rise early.  Then it is make a cup of coffee or tea and pick up after our dogs.  Most often I do not get all the goals I set for each day done, and some goals we must work at over a few days or even weeks.  So we make short-term goals and long-term goals.  But that one goal that we must do each day is reach people for the Lord.  Did you notice that I changed from my goal to the goal WE must do each day and that is reach people for the Lord?  How about it?  Jesus had/has goals, and today in the scripture it talked about three days.  It seems to me that He also did a three-day event with His goal to please His Father in Heaven and save our unworthy souls.

So do you set goals for each day?  Will you be willing to come with me each day until at least Easter and set a personal goal of working for Jesus each day?  How about it?  It really is easy when you think about it, and hey, Jesus died on that tree for You and for Me, so today establish that goal of working for Jesus and get planting seeds.  Yes, have other goals also.

Okay, time to run.  I have a goal to share some blessings, mop a floor, make some lunch, and maybe even take a nap.  Go forth now and share your blessings, and how about making working for Jesus one of your daily goals?  Are you with me on this one?  Gosh, I love you folks, all of you.  Please make it a daily goal to share that love.

Monday 3/17/14 Romans 8/28

Dear Father in Heaven.  Thanks for a great weekend and a wonderful Monday.  Lord, please, please heal my friend Dave.  Please, Lord, he is hurting.  Please be with family and friends, and Lord, please watch over Burt and Patsy.  Lord, Vicki needs Your touch and her plate is filling again.  Lord, please lighten the load of Grant and Wanda, and thanks for taking care of their parents.  Lord, please be with the families of those on that missing airliner, and we pray they are still alive.  Please be with President Obama as he needs Your help.  Lord, please bring peace.  And Lord, please watch over Matthew.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, this is like an extra today, but I just want to tell you about this wonderful couple who never stops working for the Lord.  Before I get into that, please pray hard for my dear friend Dave.  He just is not doing well at all.  Also pray for our president and our country and our military.  Also with all your being, you who are saved, it is time to get the word out.  Talk to people about Jesus, be bold land ask them if they are saved, and try your best to lead them to Jesus.  And please keep praying for our Matthew.  Now let me tell you about two wonderful people who you have prayed for a lot.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, a lot of people just say part of this scripture and tell you all things come together for good.  That is not always the case, for we find if we look it tells us that it works for the good of those who love Him and who have been called according to His purpose of what He wants for you.  There are times when we who love the Lord have wondered when are we really going to see the good in this?  To me it was when I was run over on the road on Christmas Eve 1990.  However, this story is not about me.

I want to tell you about two people who came into our lives, maybe five or six years ago.  This couple loves Jesus with all their hearts, minds, bodies, and souls, and they are so much in love with each other.  Years ago we met at Allenberry Playhouse someone when we were doing Santa.  Her name is Barbara Paulus.  You have seen her on the prayer list.  I told her about my daily messages.  Well, Barbara started forwarding them to this couple who followed on the line for a long time like that and then they sent me their email address and would receive the messages directly.  After awhile they started to send cash in nice notes to help pay for food for the food pantry.  Then it was a monthly check, and a couple of years ago the man saved all year to help purchase turkeys.  Now up to this point, I had never met them, not at all, just back and forth emails.

Now I come to find out these folks are not wealthy people, they just love the Lord and invest in Him by helping others and they started helping us.  Along the way we started to talking on the phone and I find that Mrs. is pretty much homebound and her dear sweet husband takes care of her needs.  Again, we had never met this wonderful couple, but now we are praying with them over the phone.  Then Mrs. needed to go to the hospital and was in and out a few times.  Dolores and I talked and we said we must go and meet this couple.  Now they are from York, and the hospital was really big.  We made it, and we got to meet them.  Okay, time to tell you their names.

Allow me to introduce to you Burt and Patsy Emig, two people who love the Lord, love each other, and love us and also love everybody else.  Burt called me and told me that he did not think Patsy would get home anymore and would need to go to a nursing home.  Patsy wanted to go home, and Burt wanted her home, but the Lord is not going to work this one out.  WHY?  Well, God had different plans for them, and often we do not understand just why our prayers are not answered just the way we pray.  Why, because we pray "God's will be done."  God does hear all of our prayers, but it is His will be done.  Patsy was not going to get home to be with her beloved Burt.  So she, after being in rehab, transferred to what I call a retirement home, but let's face it, the term is "nursing home."  This is a place where Patsy will have her room and have help that Burt was no longer able to do.  He wanted to, and he goes to see her most days, riding the city senior bus service.  Oh, did I tell you that Burt and Patsy are not "spring chickens"?  Anyway, now Patsy is in the "home" and Burt is at their home, so how in the world is this playing out in Romans 8:28?

Patsy has become known for praying for people, and as people at the home need prayer, more and more are coming to her for this prayer.  I am talking about staff, other residents, etc., and she is praying for them and telling them about Jesus.  She is planting seeds.  God is using her according to His purpose because she loves Him.  She loves Him even more than her dear Burt, and by the way, Burt loves Jesus more than he loves his beloved Patsy.  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of (Patsy and Burt) who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Along the way their computer broke down so each day, after the message is finished, I print a copy and we mail it to them so they can keep up with this line.  They still pray daily for us and for all on our prayer lists.  Dolores and Patsy have become dear friends and exchange letters from time to time.  Burt and I talk on the phone once in awhile for some prayer time.

When you truly love God, step out in faith and know that He will take care of you, in His way.  Just pray and listen and follow Him.

Patsy and Burt, Dolores and I love you very much, and we pray for you daily.  Love ya.  Please pass on the love.

Pastor Dan

Now I know that Patsy and Burt pass on the love.  My question is, do you?  Amen.  (In life, please be a Patsy and Burt.)

Friday 3/14/14 It's Sharp! 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for watching over family and friends.  Lord, thank You for Art and Elaine. Bless them, Lord, bless them.  Lord, please be with all those going into Your fields of Harvest this weekend and working for You.  Lord, please be with Barbara Paulus, Lord, and heal her collapsed lung.  Lord, please heal Dave, please, Lord, please.  Please also heal Beverly.  Thanks for Your healing hand on Glenn and Marie.  Lord, please send the incoming snow to sea.  Lord, be with those people on the missing airliner and help them be located, and we pray they are still alive.  Thanks, Lord, for taking care of our K-9s and bringing home that lost cat.  Lord, thanks for being with Dolores yesterday and please keep Your healing  hand on her.  And Lord, thanks for taking care of me, and Your healing hand would be appreciated.  Now, dear Lord, if You would please  help me with a message, help me dispatch it, and then help me get my message ready for Sunday, I would appreciate it.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, I want to give God praise for great neighbors, neighbors like Art and Elaine Breneman who dropped what they were doing and came to my aid.  And brothers and sisters, you may put me on your prayer list as I did have a bad fall yesterday, landing face first on our driveway.  New prayer requests, Barbara Paulus who has a collapsed lung.  Those working for Jesus this weekend and beyond.  Glenn Gamber is coming home on Saturday, Praise the Lord.  Please keep your prayers coming for those on our prayer list each day.  Now to the message.

Friday:  March 14, 2014, It's Sharp (Day Four).

As I wrap up the lessons on how sharp a tongue can be, here are just a few more examples found in the Bible.

Isaiah 59:3 - For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt.  Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things.  (NIV)

From our first testament we can plainly see how it is tied together that if our tongue speaks wicked things they are (most often) lies, and I am putting in the most often because you can speak things that are true and still very, very wicked.  How say that, Pastor Dan?  Well,  if you are spreading hateful things about people, even if true, that is wicked.  Okay, it is gossip and gossip can damage and ruin lives.  A person who might have done some things in the past, and maybe it is just drinking or using street drugs and they go to get help. The one needing help talks to his counselor or doctor, records are kept and the one who types in the records sees what is going on, and they might be okay, then someone else, say the nurse, sees the information, and they might be okay, but let's say one of them talks about it to someone else.  Or in today's market puts it on Facebook.  Okay, the facts were true, but the deed was wicked.  I pray you understand the example.  Now on this, how could your hands get stained with blood?  What if the one who went in for the help would try and hurt him/herself or even others because the problem came to light, would the blood not be on your hands?  Blood is a term, it means you would help share in the guilt of what they did.

James 1:26 - If anyone considers  himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.  (NIV)

Last one.  You consider yourself religious, but inside your church or even outside your church, you let your tongue, your mouth run on, and you really think you are doing good, you are indeed not and you are only deceiving or fooling yourself.  And your religion is worthless, not your church, but your personal religion.  I am going to say it like this, when you do these things, you are indeed ruining your relationship with our Lord Jesus.  I think I labored on this long enough.

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive us when our tongue gets out of line, and Lord, forgive us of the problems we caused with our sharp tongue, and Lord, help us repent and get back near and dear to You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth, saying only good things and sharing Your blessings.  Love ya.  Please pass on that love.

Thursday 3/13/14 It's Sharp 3

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You.  Thanks for bringing Jim home safe.  Forgive me of my sins and help me with a fresh start this day.  Please be with those we have been praying for, Lord.  Watch over our K-9's this day.  Lord, be with those who must work outside this day and keep them safe and warm.  Lord, this morning I saw men working in trees around power lines, please watch over them.  Be with our president and other leaders, please help the lost plane be found and be with all those families in Harlem, New York.  Oh, Lord, bless and heal our brothers and sisters in that explosion.  Be with our police and firefighters, and Lord, help me please with the daily message.  Then, Lord, help me to dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, this morning I was doing 25 MPH and was passed by a "trash can."  Just kidding, it was going the other way.  Please pray for our brothers and sisters from Harlem that have family taken in the gas explosion and be with and heal those who were injured.  Pray for the ones on the lost airliner.  Pray for our president and other leaders, plus our military, our police and firefighters, and all others who work to keep us safe.  Praise report, Praise report.  JIM IS HOME SAFE.  While we prayed for him each step of the way, I did not post any route.  He flew out of Afghanistan through another dangerous country and had to transfer planes there.  Then two more planes to get home.  All honor and glory to God.  Praise report.  I had a tree fall on one of our cars, and the car won, our roof was not so blessed, but it did not fall in.  Always something to be thankful for.  Let me get to the message.

Thursday:  March 13, 2014, It's Sharp (Day Three).

2 Corinthians 12:20 - For I am afraid that when I come, I may not find you as I want you to be.  I fear that there may be quarreling,  jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.  (NIV)

Proverbs 11:13 - A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret. (NIV)

Proverbs 16:28 - A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.  (NIV)

Proverbs 26:20 - Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, this morning we got up very early as we had to take our furry children to the dogtor.  I went to put toothpaste on my toothbrush and squeezed the tube way too hard and I got way too much paste from that tube.  Then I did it again with the "stuff for my denture."  I just got carried away squeezing the tube.  I tried and tried to push that paste and that other "stuff" back in the tube.  After working awhile, I did get some back in, but not very much at all, but some.  Stop laughing, you try it sometime.  It might be your last tube of paste or stuff, and you are not going to the store.  Try putting it back in the tube.  I think there is only one thing that might be harder than that!  What is that, you ask?  Try putting words back in your mouth after you put them over your lips.  Think of it, brothers and sisters, and I think we all have done it.  We say something about someone, and it hurts them, and then you say "I am sorry."  You can put your arms around them and apologize up and down.  The one you hurt may say it is okay and forgive you, and that should happen, but still the words are out.  THE DAMAGE IS DONE.

I want to go back and pull down just a couple of the scriptures of today.

Proverbs 16:28 - A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

I don't often go to the dictionary, but today I pulled my American Heritage and found that a "perverse" man is found to be "wrongly self-willed or stubborn" and/or "marked by a disposition to oppose and contradict."  With that we see the Bible tells us they stir up dissension or problems, and when they gossip it separates them from friends.

Let me ask you this.  Joe comes running to you and lays on you without thinking, something about Jim.  Joe is your close friend, and you know Jim.  You listen, even if you do not want to, but you listen.  After a bit, Joe goes running back to Jim and talks to him.  Who do you think Joe is talking about this time?  Yes, put in your own name.  Listen to me, please.  "If someone will spread gossip to you, they will also spread gossip about you."  (my quote)  Learn to know who you can trust to talk to about personal issues, or better yet, when you need to really talk about something personal, TALK TO GOD.

Proverbs 26:20 - Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down.

There are a whole lot of people  in the world today that I wold refer to as "pot stirrers."  Those would be someone who ride the fence to keep the feud going.  They run from one side to the other most often telling lies or stretching the truth.  Some people have feuded so long they forget why they are feuding and if no one stirred the pot, the feud would stop.  Put away the "sharp" object called your tongue and remember this.  If you have nothing good to say, KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED.

And brothers and sisters, email, Facebook, and all those other forms of talking with your fingers is the same.  It comes from the same brain, and once out there, you cannot get it back.  Amen.

Now go forth sharing God's blessings with others.  Love ya.  Please pass on the love, it is always good to pass on love.

Wednesday 3/12/14 It's Sharp 2

Dear Heavenly Father: I love You very much.  Thanks for watching over us.  Please protect Your children from the weather that is passing through as I am praying.  Please, dear Lord in Heaven, please, I pray, touch Your healing hand on my dear brother Dave, also watch over his wife Linda and his mother as they stand by him.  Lord, thanks for our healing hand on Glenn and Marie, and please watch over Grant, Wanda, Glenda, and John as they help work with aging parents.  Please, Lord, be with Martin Martin Jr. and Angel Millie Marie as they have surgery tomorrow.  And Lord, on this Salvation Wednesday, help us to work with others to bring them to Your feet to be saved.  Lord, please help Dolores and me each day as we press forward working for You, and now, dear Lord, please bless me with the message and help me to get it dispatched.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters, please look over the names listed for prayer in my personal prayer for the day.  Just so you know, Martin Martin Jr. and Angel Millie Marie are two of our dogs.  Martin, our puppy, is "losing his manhood," and Angel, one of our rescues, is having dental work.  Please remember it is Salvation Wednesday on this line and while you might not be reading this until Thursday, every day should be a day when you try and lead others to Jesus to be saved.  Amen.  Now let me get to the message.

Salvation Wednesday:  March 12, 2014, It's Sharp (Day Two).

Psalm 5:9 - Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction.  Their throat is an open grave, with their tongue they speak deceit.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, let's look at these scriptures today and before the end of this week, you will find out why my message title, "It's Sharp," lines right up with the tongue.  Today I just want to dive right in with this word being true today, and yes, you know I will tell you that Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday and He will be the same forever (Hebrews 13:8).  Look all around you, how many people really speak the truth anymore, I mean the complete truth?  The Bible tells us that not a word can be trusted.  Have you ever watched Judge Judy?  Once she catches someone in a lie, their case is over.  Why?  For once a person lies to you, you no longer know when they are telling the truth.  Again, I want to put in here if you have confessed things over to the Lord, they are taken care of and you get a fresh start.  However, God gave you the fresh start, humans here on earth do not know when that person is telling the truth if over the years the lies are there or the truth is stretched really far.  What was the name of the cartoon character that did not tell the truth?  One was Pinocchio who would tell a lie and his nose would grow.  (By the way, he is back in some ads right now.)  Another was Hennie Penny who said "the sky was falling."  If a person were to call 911 over and over for no reason and then needed the help, the help might not come.  If you have been one to tell stories or lie to folks and you confess over to God, He forgives you, but you might need to show others that you have "come clean."

The Bible tells us that one who does not speak the truth, that their heart is filled with destruction.  What does that mean?  Well, words that are spoken and not true or the truth is stretched can cause hurt and destruction to others.  Later in the week we will get into the gossip end of the tongue.  The Bible tells us that a person whose word cannot be trusted has a throat like an open grave.  Let me see if my example makes sense.  I am thinking that if we were to see an open grave, what you would find in it would not be good to see at all.  I am talking about a grave that is used.  Before they are used it is a "plot" or "grave site."  The throat as an open grave means to me there is nothing pleasant in that "open grave."  It also tells us that with that same tongue they speak deceit.  Again speaking deceit, hurts others, making that tongue as sharp as a sword.

Psalm 12:1 - Help, Lord, for the godly are no more; the faithful have vanished from among men.  2 Everyone lies to his neighbor their flattering lips speak deception.  (NIV)

In this Psalm the Psalmist is asking the Lord for help saying the godly are NO MORE.  The faithful have vanished!  And while I would not say there are no godly people anymore, I sometimes wonder where they are!  I know some people who love the Lord but will not go to church anymore because of all the "in-fighting" and/or when they really needed help they were turned away from their own church.  I am not talking just money for help, but just needed to talk to someone.  Then there is a "leak" and the word is out on someone.

There are also people who go from church to church asking for money for food,  heat, or even help with payments and some of those churches have been "taken" or "scammed" trying to help people.

To end this day I want to tell you this. "I ask a simple question, the answer I surely wish, are all fishermen liars or do all liars fish?" (author unknown)  Stop what you are doing and confess unto the Lord if you lie or stretch the truth, and then repent and use your tongue for good things.  Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and share the truth.  Love ya.  Please pass on the love.

Tuesday 3/11/14 It's Sharp 1

Dear Father in Heaven.  I love You.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Please be with all those on our prayer list.  Lord, thank You for a really beautiful day.  I pray today that our hard winter is over.  Thanks again for helping us and the beautiful day and for a great sing-along.  Please, Lord, I pray You will now bless me with  another message and then help me to dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, it is time to get ready for Easter and for our Easter food distribution.  We are going to "pick and pack" food bags on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 9:00 AM.  We will be packing about 50 to 60 sets of 5 bags full of food.  (We will not be packing as heavy as Christmas.)  We also will need help to sweep up and clean up around the entrance to the food pantry.  We should be done no later than noon.

On Saturday, April 12, from 9:00 AM to noon, we will have our annual Easter distribution.  This is the fun day of the two.  We will need prayer warriors for on the driveway, people to help load vehicles and others to help with the bread and other goodies we have to give out.

Please call us at 691-8200 or 991-0754 if you can help.  Please also pray for the day.  We are expecting about 50 families that day.  Lunch will be furnished.  (How do you like your hot dog?)  Now to the message.

Tuesday, March 11, 2014, It's Sharp (Day One).

Exodus 4:10 - Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to Your servant.  I am slow of speech and tongue."  11 The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his  mouth?  Who  makes him deaf or mute?  Who gives him sight or makes him blind?  Is it not I, the Lord?  12 Now go:  I will help you speak and will teach you what to say?"  (NIV)

Here we find Moses talking with God as Moses is getting ready to lead his people.  Moses said he was not eloquent!  He did not say he had a speech impediment, but the fact he was slow, not a great speaker or would not know what to say.  God spoke to Moses and told  him He would help him.  I love how God sums up the fact that He, God, made man, gave him a mouth and makes  him able to hear, talk, and see.  Each week as I get ready to preach and teach, I talk it over with God asking Him to give me the words one at a time.  Regardless of my notes, I ask God to give me the message straight from Him one word at a time.  I would think that all pastors, Sunday School teachers, and even the public and private school teachers would ask God to sharpen their subject and skill to get it off their tongue and that God would help them to sharpen their tongue.  In all we do, we need to talk to God about it first.  You see, once we put the word out there, and folks, remember this for Facebook and even email, you need to be sharp when you do it.  This week we are going to keep looking at this "sharp object" and see how it can do good or even hurt others.  Please join me.

Now go forth and share your blessings, and remember to pray first.  Love ya, and please pass on my love to others.

Monday 3/10/14 Start Right!

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to start our day right, not just today, but every day.  So Lord, forgive us of our sins, forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for a great weekend, and yes, Lord, we have some prayer requests.  Please help Theola and help her find help to close an estate.  Be with Wanda and Brenda who both fell.  Lord, be with Dave, his wife Linda and his mother Beverly.  Touch Patsy and Burt, and thanks for using Patsy as Your humble servant even as she lays in a nursing home bed. Bless her, Lord, with her great faith.  Thanks for Your touch on Glenn and Marie, and please keep Your hand upon them and also Grant and Wanda. Lord, be with Phyllis Baker and Keith Harman.  And yes, Lord, Dolores and I also need Your healing hand.  Now, dear Lord, please help me with this day's message and then help me dispatch it, please.  In Jesus' Name, we pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, a time change, a long hard winter, an airplane missing, a 6.9 earthquake on the west coast, and things in Russia not looking good.  We need to get this first day of the week started right.   First a few new names to pray for.  Theola, who like a lot of us is aging and needs some help with paperwork.  Wanda (not Wanda Crockett) and Brenda who had bad falls.  Also new, Phyllis and Keith.  Plus the others on our prayer list above.  Now how do we start the day right?  First, we pray, and we did that above.  Next, we read the Bible.  And so you started right and also happy.

Psalm 100:1 - Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing.  (KJV)

And now we sing, and I mean sing joyfully.  I am going to get you started on two, maybe three, songs to get you going, then put one on your heart, mind, soul, and out your lips and let the world hear you.  And you just know where I am going to start.

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made!

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made!

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made!

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee,
How great Thou art, HOW GREAT THOU ART.

Now go forth and share your blessings, and share a song, and know that Jesus loves you, and I love ya also.  Share the love of Jesus and my love also.

Friday 3/7/14 Burdens 4

Dear Father in Heaven.  I love You!  Please wash me clean of my sins.  Please hear our prayers for healing for Dave, Beverly, Eleanor, Bob, Sharon, Dolores, Glenn, Marie, Grant, Jaylea, and Lord, please be with Grant, Wanda, Art, Elaine, and help carry their burdens, and Lord, please, let us hear from Matthew.  Lord, I also need Your touch on my body, if You would please stop the pain in my left knee I will do my best to handle the rest.  I know, Jesus, how it must have hurt You when the nails went into You, and I am sorry I sin for that must hurt You more than the nails.  Lord, be with our president and help him with our nation's problems, and Lord, be with our military and keep them safe, and Lord, please bring them home soon.  Lord, I know I am missing others, forgive me, Lord, and now please help me with the message and to dispatch it.  In the name of Jesus, all honor and glory to You. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, yes, it is Saturday, and this is Friday's message.  Until I got done yesterday what needed to be done, I came to the keyboard and fell asleep. I prayed for a message and God told me to rest, so I went to bed thinking I will get back up later and write.  However, my cat and dogs on the bed were still, and I did not wake back up.  Lots of people to pray for, I think every family is hurting in one way or another.  Our nation is at war and may be going to war in Russia.  Hey, don't worry about war, maybe next week God will give me a message on that subject. Now let me wrap up on Burdens ...

Friday, March 7, 2014, Burdens (Day Four).

Luke 11:46 - Jesus replied, "and you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them."  (NIV)

Here is a warning that goes not just back then because we know that Jesus is the same today (Hebrews 13:8), so this warning goes to folks today.  Are you loading others down with burdens and not doing your part to help them?  I want to go way back into the days of childhood on this one.  My dear Mamma taught school, took in some washing and ironing to make ends meet as Pop was also a school teacher and he would paint houses in the summer.  Mamma did hire a really nice Negro lady named Mary to help her with the cleaning of the house on Saturdays so she could stay caught up.  I am using the term Negro because that is what a black lady would be called back then.  We were taught to call her "Miss Mary."  Her name was Mary Fields and I will never ever forget her.  First, Mamma would say to my brother and me, get your rooms cleaned up, I don't want Miss Mary thinking we live like pigs.  Saturday morning Miss Mary would arrive by city bus and come up to our home.  After praying, Miss Mary would get started cleaning and my Mamma would work right beside  her.  They would sing old hymns together as they cleaned the house, dusted blinds, etc.  Then they would have lunch together.  When finished for the day, Mamma would drive Miss Mary home.  She lived in uptown Harrisburg in what we would have then called the "colored section" of town.  Mamma would take her to her street and she would get out and tell us to lock the doors and be careful.  Mamma loved Miss Mary like a sister and although my mamma paid her and gave her the load of cleaning, my mamma would help her with the work.  When my mamma died, Miss Mary came to the viewing by bus. The viewing was at the Kimmel Funeral Home in Harrisburg, PA.  Miss Mary came and put her arms around me and hugged me and gave me a kiss and told me my mamma was the best person she ever knew.  (I am writing through tears right now.)

Today so many people hire others and do nothing to help them with their load.  While supervisors who hire them should be in an office, that office door should be open most of the time so those needing help could come and ask for the help needed.  You as someone who hires people to do the work might not be able to go and physically help someone with the load they were given to carry, but could assign another to go and help them.  Sometimes it is just instructions that are needed to help others carry the load.  I think I got my point driven home on that one.

Burdens are lifted at Calvary, brothers and sisters, for that I invite you to go to the Book of Mark and read Chapter 15, which tells about Jesus being arrested and dying on the cross for us.  Yes, brothers and sisters, our sins, our burdens, have been lifted at Calvary, and we should know that even though this happened some 2000 plus years ago, it holds true today, again I invite you to review Hebrews 13:8.  Maybe I should write that one out for all of you again today, so here it is.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

So that's it for today, now go forth and share those blessings that Jesus gave you.  Love ya.  Please pass on that love.

Thursday 3/6/14 Burdens 3

Dear Father in Heaven.  I love You, and thanks for another really great day. Thanks for the bread for the food pantry, and thanks for sending help this afternoon.  Please, Lord, please be with all those on our prayer list from yesterday.  Heal them, please, heal them, please.  Lord, help me now with a message, and then help me dispatch it.  Oh, and Lord, please clean me of my sins, and Lord, please touch my short-term memory.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters, what a great day here at the Southern Location (I think) of the North Pole.  You know, if we would just follow  our Bibles, we can find all we need to know about how to live, and even what brand of undies to wear.  No, I am not talking about the leaves that Adam and Eve used.  Anyway, we know God loved Hondas because everyone came in one Accord.  Do you know the brand name?  Okay, moving on, I did not receive any updates on our prayer lists, but I did get to hold onto "Little Luke"'s hand today and give God the glory for healing him.  There is power in prayer, brothers and sisters, but so often we do not get back to God and say thank you.  For years we have been praying on our driveway before we leave our home for any reason, but so often we come home safe and forget to say "thank you, Jesus."  Time to get to the message, Burdens.

Thursday:  March 6, 2014, Burdens (Day Three).

2 Corinthians 5:4 - For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.  (NIV)

Folks, we are not talking about being out camping here, our tent is our body here on earth.  And the Bible tells us we groan and are burdened.  And that is a fact, but the Bible tells us we do not wish to be unclothed.  Meaning, and this is what the Lord is giving me, we do not want to let go of those burdens.  However, we who are saved wish to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, meaning to me we know when we get to heaven we will not have burdens and we get a new body, and speaking for me, I am ready to go to the Lord, BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO YET.  I am still willing to groan and hurt, just wish I could hand over the burdens and not pick them up.  I am working harder on that each day.  Also when the Bible tells us here "swallowed up by life."  That would be the eternal life that we get from loving and bringing Jesus into our lives.

2 Corinthians 11:9a - And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden on anyone.  (NIV)

Yes, I just typed out the first part of the verse, for I wanted  you to see, and this is Paul writing this letter, that he was not a burden on anyone.  The scripture goes on that "brothers" supplied everything he needed.  What this is telling me is we are not to be a burden on anyone.  I am sure most of you understand this, but we should try hard to handle things on our own, but there will be times that we need help from others.  Dolores and I have reached that stage in life, yet still, while we appreciate all that others do, we do not want to burden others, so when we have something that must be done and cannot do it ourselves, we have different folks we can call on to help.  I find that if we take our time and really pray and pray about it, we can get things done.  Often by just praying, God will help us figure things out or will send help.

Galatians 6:2 - Carry each other's burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  (NIV)

When I tie this together with the last scripture it is telling me that when I am over-burdened, of course I give it to Christ first, but then as others help me, I should be helping them also.  It talks about fulfilling the law of Christ, and to me that means loving our neighbor and helping them.  Most of all this scripture is talking about sin and when someone falls into sin, we need to help them get back on track, but we need to be careful we do not fall into the sin while helping them.  Please, to understand this better, read Galatians 6:1/10.

I am falling asleep and going to stop for tonight.  Please go forth, help others carry their burdens and also share your blessings.  Love ya.  And please pass on that love.

Wednesday 3/5/14 Burdens 2

Praise The Lord.  "Little" Luke was at the heart doctor and was given a clean bill of  health on his heart.  Jaylea is off the ventilator and it looks like she has turned the corner.  (Keep praying for her.)  Marie is home.  However, just today they had tests on her legs and she has blood clots in both legs.  Glenn has been moved to HealthSouth.  Dave has been moved to the 4th floor at the Community General Hospital, he is not eating on his own.  This is like a long care type service now.  He really needs prayer.  Brothers and sisters, keep on praying.  Here is my personal prayer for today.

Dear Father in Heaven.  Thanks for another beautiful day.  Thanks for waking us and helping us through the day.  Thanks, Lord, for watching over our family, and Lord, thanks for watching over our flock at The Bridges, our online flock, and over this line itself.  Please, if You would keep that blessing coming, I would surely appreciate it.  And Lord, watch over Matthew and work on him to call us or something so we know he is okay.  Thanks, Lord, for taking care of my little buddy, "Little Luke" and please hear our prayers for Dave to be healed and also all others on the lists we have been praying for.  Please, Lord, on our Salvation Wednesday and on this Ash Wednesday, guide us to the unsaved and help us to bring the lost to Your feet to be saved.  And Lord, Dolores needs Your touch and so do I.  Please Lord, help me carry the burden of pain and cover me with Your blood for I am a sinner in need of that.  Also help me with the message, guide me to scriptures, and then help me write it and dispatch it.  And Lord, please help Grant and Wanda.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray and give thanks.  Amen.

Brothers and sisters, in our area today there was a Lutheran Pastor at a park and ride placing a cross of ashes on the head of those who do not have time to go to church.  It would have been nice to have a crew there to pray with the folks also, but it was nice to see, we need to "take God on the road."  In this day of everyone being in a hurry, a new Catholic church was built that had a drive-through confessional.  It was built like a bank drive-through, but with just one lane.  A sign over the entrance said, "Toot and Tell."  Okay, I made that one up.  Other than that sign, it would be a nice thing or someone who is handicapped to be able to use.  Of course we can just "confess to God, through Jesus, and it will be heard."  Let me get to the message on Burdens.

Ash Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday:  March 5, 2014, Burdens (Day Two).

Psalm 68:19 - Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.  (NIV)

In our first scripture for today we see we are to Praise the Lord.  So let's do that now.  PRAISE THE LORD.  We are to praise the Lord our God who is also our Savior.  On this our Salvation Wednesday, it is so nice when God leads me to scripture that covers more than just my subject.  So we see He is our Savior and look at this -- He DAILY bears our burdens.  However, brothers and sisters, we need to let go of them and let God do what the scripture tells us.  I sometimes think we are in a tug-of-war with God over some things.  I want you to just think about doing this, or you can do it.  Get out a suitcase and put those burdens in it.  Some might be like going through the motions like mental things.  Others you might want to load in some paperwork, like your income tax papers.  Now tie that suitcase to something strong, think of that as God, and you get on the other end and start pulling.  This is how it is some days when God tries to carry our burdens and we try and hang onto them.  Let them go, put down your end of the rope.  It might be the hardest thing we do, but we need to let the Lord carry our burdens.

Matthew 11:28 - "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  (NIV)

This is Jesus being quoted and Jesus is telling us that if we go to Him when we are weary and burdened He will give us rest.  Do you notice that this is another promise, one we did not cover?  How many times have you been weary and burdened yet you did not go to the Lord?  I am sure guilty of this from time to time, and in fact thee are times when I am weary and tired and the message seems like it is going to be a burden.  I sometimes lay across the bed resting and that even happened today.  Then I get up, come to the computer, talk to Jesus and get working on the message.  I came to Him, I was weary about the message and I gave it to Him and He is helping me right now.  He is carrying that burden right now.  I am talking to Him as I am writing, for my legs and back are hurting badly, and I keep giving it over and over to Him.  Help me, Lord.  We all need to be doing these things.  When you are weary at work, stop, take five, and talk to God about it.  One of today's burdens are our cell phones, it seems we just can't put them down.  Please give them over to God, which means SHUT THEM OFF FROM TIME TO TIME.

Yesterday we looked at how some of the burdens are put on us by our Lord, but in turn He will be faithful and help us.  Amen.

Now go forth, giving your burdens to God and sharing your blessings He has given you.  Love ya.  Please pass on His love.

Tuesday 3/4/14 Burdens 1

Dear Heavenly Father:  Thanks for a beautiful day and thanks for hearing our prayers.  Thanks for answering our prayers according to Your will, Lord, which is always better than my will.  Lord, please be with those on our prayer lists, and Lord, please heal my dear friend Dave.  Lord, now if you would be so kind as to grant unto me the message and then please help me get it dispatched.  Oh, and Lord, thanks for being with me in the plow truck yesterday.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, another cold day at the Southern Location of the North Pole, but God is good and soon the flowers will be jumping out of the ground.  It looks like our temperature might get all the way up to freezing today.  Some updates.  Ted is home from the hospital, only because his wife is a nurse.  Dave is not doing well at all.  He just will not eat.  I was in yesterday and anointed  him with oil in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and we prayed he would be healed.  He is in God's  hands, as we all are.  So please keep praying for Ted, Dave, Patsy, and Burt, who fell last week, and rejoice in praise that Jim, who lost his job just two weeks ago, found another.  Jobs are out there for those willing (and able) to work.  There are a lot of people "milking the dog" so to speak.  I did miss yesterday; did not sleep the night before, watching for the big snow, which missed, but I still got up early to plow.  Then I went to see Dave in the hospital, and until I got home I was worn out, I took care of the animals, made us supper and went to bed.  God did not give me a message, so I guess he wanted me to rest.  Hey, don't eat too many donuts today on this "Fat Tuesday."  A new subject starting today.  Burdens!!  Let's get started.  Let's March Fourth!!

Tuesday:  March 4, 2014, Burdens.  (Day One)

Psalm 38:3 - Because of Your wrath there is no health in my body, my bones have no soundness because of my sin.  4 My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.  (NIV)

Today I want you to take a look at two scriptures with me.

I know that we always hear we are "to cast our burdens to the Lord" and before the end of the week we will cover that.  We will also see if we can find where it tells us that "God will never give us more than we can carry."  However, today I want to take a look at a couple of scriptures where it looks like the "burdens" are being put on us right from God.  In Psalms 38:3 it talks about the wrath of God being so strong that there is no health in the body, and the bones have no soundness.  But why, because of sin, so while God put this burden on, the Wrath of God is being put on us because of our sins.  It also talks about it overwhelming us and the burden is too heavy to bear.  So while we can see that the wrath of God is causing us this problem, or in this case the heavy burden, it is being caused by our sin.  You can unload this burden right now by praying to have your sins covered.

Ecclesiastes 1:12 - I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem.  13 I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven.  What a heavy burden God has laid on me!  (NIV)

Please now put your into the shoes of the Teacher.  Now let's not just look at Sunday School teachers, but also pastors who are teachers and even school teachers from early childhood to schools of higher education.  We need all those I just named, which includes me, and others and all others to gain all the knowledge we can get and teach it to those who are in our charge.  (Charge, those assigned to us by God.)  School teachers also have this same thing.  If we do our job right, the burden does get heavy.  Yes, I can say with all that God has laid on me, there are days the burden is very heavy.  Today is one such day because it was a hard day to get started on the message.  I am sure if you would ask your pastor, and maybe some pastors on the line might respond, that some days the load gets heavy.  You see, we who take these jobs are held accountable to God for what we teach and preach.  School teachers have that same responsibility to get the kids to learn, and trust me, we will be held to account by God.  Sometimes it is a heavy burden.  Anyone else feel this way?  Is the real burden God has laid on your heart hard to carry sometimes?

Dear Father in Heaven, please help us this day to carry our burdens, even those that You have placed on us.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Now brothers and sisters, I am asking you all to pray for our president, who is commander in chief of our military.  Pray for his salvation and then for wisdom for him to handle these events of Russia.  And yes, President Obama is accountable to God in  his job besides being accountable to us Americans.

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya.  Pass on that love, please.
