Dear Father in Heaven: Thank You very much for loving me, loving me enough to send Jesus to die for me and loving me enough to take my sins away through Your Son Jesus. Thanks for hearing our prayers, and thanks for watching over our families and the ministries of Carry The Light. Dear Father, help us please this day in what we do and may our love for You and Your Son Jesus be in front of all we do. Help us, dear Lord, to love on those coming for food this day. And, dear Lord, please be with Sarah Geisier, who was in a really bad car accident, and the doctors say they can do no more. Lord Jesus, we trust Your healing hand. Lord, please protect Dean and Martha's son as he has just arrived in Afghanistan. Please, Lord, bring our troops home safe and soon, and please keep us out of wars. Now, dear Father, if You would lay out the message for me today, planting it in my brain, heart and soul, and make my fingers move. Then, Lord, please dispatch it for me. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks for a beautiful day and letting me stay here to work for You and enjoy another day. Thanks. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Good day, my dear sisters and brothers, what a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. What great sleeping weather. Please pray today for all of our troops and also private workers from America who are still working in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pray for their safety and that they come home real soon. Also pray that we do not get involved in another war. However, it is in the Bible that we will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Please let me remind you of this. Please do not send me EMAILS WITH DISCLAIMERS ON THE BOTTOM. Disclaimers meaning something like this. "You will receive special blessings if you forward this to ten people and back to the one who sent it and if you do it within five minutes." Brothers and sisters, GOD HANDS OUT THE BLESSINGS, according to our work for Him and according to His will for us. So please, some of you send them all the time. Now to the message. As you are aware, God has given me the subject of Love to write and talk about. And I LOVE it.
Tuesday, September 24, 2013, Love (Day Two)
2 Corinthians 13:8 - Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; when I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain; faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I love the scriptures, I write them out for I know it might make it easier for you. The scriptures for today I really love, for as we talk about Love, the scripture tells us "LOVE NEVER FAILS." In other words, brothers and sisters, if we love others, truly love others, love never fails. Parents, NEVER STOP loving your children, for once in awhile they walk from you, but if they were raised with Love, they will come back. I know in my life I walked away from one who loved me, He loved me very, very much, in fact He died for me, and while I was raised to love Him, I turned my back on Him. Yes, I am talking about Jesus, my dear Lord and Savior. While I never disowned Him, I did not live to please Him. Now I am trying very hard to please Him. I figure this way, if I can please our Lord Jesus, and some people do not like that, SHAME ON THEM. If I tell people I love them, I really do. That does not mean I love their way of life!! In other words, in other words, we must love the sinner and hate the sin. Gosh, that sounds like Jesus! Jesus loves all of us, each and every one, even those who hate Him, and the Bible tells us that He hates sins. He died for our sins, to save us from our own self-destruction, and we need to love Him and we need to show that love for Jesus by not just telling Him in prayer, but by our actions in the way we live.
As children, we acted like children, but now we have grown up and we are to put away our childish ways (except for us guys playing with cars). Just kidding, we are to be grown up. We need to not just tell others we love them, we need to show them by our actions and our actions mean we do not tell someone we love them and then stab them in the back, so to speak, while we are gathered in the break room at work. In our scripture for today it tells us that in the end some of our gifts will be gone, they will in fact disappear. What will be left is faith, hope and love, and the greatest of those will be LOVE. Someone please say amen!
Please now let us as we love others, seek out ways to really show our love for them. We can surely pray for them, but more than that we must put "feet on our prayers." So in our prayers today we will pray for others and also pray that God shows us ways to help others and show our love that way, even if it might be a person you have a hard time loving. Yes, I know we all have one of those who really put us to the test. Let's pray.
Father in Heaven, please help to teach us to Love, teach us to love as You love us, teach us to love those who hate us, just as You love ones who might hate You. Teach us Your way, oh Lord, and help us to teach it to others. Be with those on our prayer lists, Lord. In Jesus' name, Lord, I want to walk, talk, live, breathe, and even sleep. I, we, need Your help, Lord, we really, really do. In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.
Now go forth loving others, loving Jesus, and yes, even loving me. And one way to show love is to share those blessings. Love ya. Pass it on. Pastor Dan
