Thursday 9/19/13 Straight 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You so very much for all the help You have been to me this very day.  Lord, I just cannot do a thing without You, nor do I want to.  Please, Lord, watch over our family and all those who use this line.  Be with our ministry team and their families.  Lord, I pray for Curtis and his anger issues and ask that You heal him of those issues.  Lord, please help me now with the message of today.  Place Your words in my mind and fingertips so I can get the message out the way You want it and to glorify You with it.  Then please dispatch it for me.  All  glory and honor is Yours this day for a beautiful day, and I pray that what I did today pleased You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters:  It was indeed a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, just beautiful.  Please keep Bob Feldman and  his family in your prayers.  (I sent this request out about noon.)  Please pray for Beverly (knee surgery), Sandy and her son Jeremy (emotional), Michael (emotional).  Praise Report, Donna and Dennis just had their wedding anniversary and were remarried.  Their entire family made the service.  Congratulations Dennis and "Gabby" for saying to each other, you are happy to do it all over again.  Our son Matthew.  Vicki (many problems), Eleanor (rehabbing at Church of God Home), Patsy and Burt (missing each other, as Patsy is now residing in a nursing home), Curtis (anger), Beth and Craig (their house).

Pray for Tim, Larry, and Brett, for their concert tomorrow evening, at the Duncannon Assembly of God.  And you are welcome to hear these men of God sing.  The concert is at 7:00 PM Friday evening.  These three gentlemen were the last edition of the Couriers to be on the road as The Couriers.  They are good!!!  (A love offering will be taken.)

Now, brothers and sisters, I need to be getting to the message, "Straight."

Thursday, September 19, 2013, Straight (Day Four).

John 1:23 - John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.'"  (NIV)

So let me talk about STRAIGHT for another day.  Maybe I should use the term "going straight."  I have heard of this term being used by folks who have been involved in crime, and after paying back by paying fines and/or spending some time in prison, they come out and say "I am going straight."  Another term that is used when there is an addiction problem is "they are on the wagon," just another term for going straight or getting their life straightened out.  I just want you to think about a few things today.  The Bible talks about "making straight the way for the Lord."  As I wrote yesterday, it means take the obstacles out of the way.  And yes, when our Lord Jesus came to earth, starting right from the very beginning thee were obstacles in the way.  One of the first ones I can think of is "there was no room for Him in the inn."  Today, our Lord Jesus is still the same, and brothers and sisters, there are still obstacles being placed in His way.  Yes, folks, each day, each and every day, our Lord Jesus and Christians are under attack.

What are some of the obstacles today?  Well, let's start out by talking about our Lord Jesus being tossed out of schools, and yes, yes we can send Him in, in the hearts of our children and grandchildren, it seems all references of our Lord had to be removed.  Gone is reading of the Bible in school and praying The Lord's Prayer.  People are pushing each day to have "In God We Trust" removed from our money.  The Bible has warned us that these things will happen, so please do not panic.  We who love Jesus, we who really follow Jesus (and yes, we also mess up from time to time) need to witness for Him regardless of where we are.  Please do not be afraid to pray for and with people on the street, but please not in the middle of the street.  If someone says to you, "will you pray for me?" please grab their hand and pray with them on the spot.  I pray for people in the food store, in Sears, on the streets, and no one has ever told me to stop.  Remember, you just do not go up and grab a stranger or a child and pray.  But when they ask, don't walk away without doing those prayers.

Now I did get off track a tad today, but before I stop for today, I do want to put forth a word, a really wonderful word that means to me to make straight.  For us to make straight paths to our Lord.  Remember please we also need to get the obstacles out of our way, and as I said yesterday most of the obstacles are our sins.  So tomorrow we are going to "Go Straight" by doing this.  We are going to REPENT!  We are going to look into repenting and to me if we do not repent of what we have done, then we are not going STRAIGHT.  So please come back tomorrow and you can get a start on it by joining me now in prayer.  Come on, join me, please.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and please help me to repent of those sins and walk that straight line with our eyes fixing straight on our Lord Jesus Christ.  Dear Father, please be with all those on our prayer list, and all those on the prayer list that my dear brother Pastor Larry posts each day.  Most of all, Lord Jesus, we want to thank You for dying for us on the cross and saving us from our own sinful ways.  Help each of us to walk in Your light.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Join me tomorrow as we go Straight by looking in the Bible about repenting.  Now, brothers and sisters, please share your blessings.  Love ya.  Pass it on.  Pastor Dan
