Friday 9/27/13 Love (5)

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for another great day.  I love You so much, Dear Father.  Thanks for the messages about Love, and thanks for teaching us through Jesus how to love.  Please, Dear Father, please forgive me of my sins.  Thanks,Jesus, for going to the cross for me so that my life can be completed by Your Love for me and others.  Dear Father in Heaven, please be with our president and those in Washington, DC, and  help them get their heads together.  Please help them understand that without You our nation will surely fail.  Please be with our veterans and our military troops, Lord, and watch over them.  Also our police and firefighters.  Lord, all these men and women of our police, firefighters, and military are willing to lay down their lives for us.  Bless them, Lord, and protect them, Lord.  Now, Lord, please help me to finish out the series on Love, and may my words come from You this day.  And then after that, please help me to dispatch the message and print it for mailing.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, what a great day to be alive in this world, but what a shame to watch what is going on in Washington, DC.  Please pray for those folks to get our country back in touch with God,  or please VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!!  Did I really say that??  Yes I did!!  Pray, warriors, pray, for them to get their heads together.  Please keep praying for the safety of our leaders, and pray even harder for our military and our police and firefighters.  Pray for pastors, all of them, to get the Bible out and preach from THE WORD, and not try to soft-soap a person's way into heaven.  I have been writing about love all week, and the bottom line is, if you do  not love everyone, YOU do not love GOD.  So come on, you cannot even hate or dislike one person.  You can hate or dislike the lifestyle and the sins, but brothers and sisters, you got to get to loving on everyone.  Look, sounds like I got a jump on the message, let me get to it.

Friday, September 27, 2013, Love (Day Five).

John 15:13 - "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."  (NIV)

Did you see on the news today or maybe it was yesterday a man was texting and walked off a subway platform onto the tracks?  Several people jumped onto the tracks and pulled the man to safety.  "No greater love has one than they be willing to lay down their lives for even a stranger."  Now that is my quote, folks.  You remember the Good Samaritan, right?  These folks were willing to lay down their lives to  help someone they did not even know.  Police and firefighters do it daily, and it goes without saying our men and women of our military have always done this.  Do you remember the events of 9/11/2001 when we watched as police and firefighters ran into the towers as others were running out?  Sure you do.  Do you remember those who took down the plane in Somerset, PA, to save others?  Everyday people willing to give their lives for others.

So let me ask all of you today, how far would you go to save or try and save the life of a friend?  Okay, next question, would you go the same distance to save the life of a stranger?  Okay, one more time.  How far would you go to save someone who you do not like at all?  Hold it on that last question, for that is a loaded question indeed.  If you were to think about laying down your life for someone you hated, you better remember that if you really laid it down, you, according to the Word, would not make it into heaven.  For you must love everyone.  So I think if you were willing to lay down your life for that person, then you did not hate them to begin with.  Now the fact that the person whom you might have been willing to lay down your life for does not like you, makes no difference as long as you love them.  However, we need to be teaching that person the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ laid down His life for us, for all of us, and yes, all of us even today, and lots of people hate Him, but He loves them all.  It makes no difference to our Jesus when it comes to loving, our loving Him is not required for Him loving us.  However, it is required if we want to spend the hereafter with Him.  Are you understanding me today?

Love is so important, there is a song, Love Makes the World go Round.  You know that is correct, for God made the world, He made it go round, and He Loves us.  So maybe we should sing it.  God's Love makes the world go round, world go round.  God's love makes the world go round.  Brothers  and sisters, we need to tell others how much we love them and more, so we need to show them how much we love them by our deeds in this world.  Love, God's Greatest Blessing.  SHARE IT!

Dear Father in Heaven, help us to love others and help us to follow the lead of Jesus and show love to others.  Walk with us this day and stand us up when we slip and fall.  Now go with us, Lord.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Thursday 9/26/13 Love (4)

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You, Dear Lord.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Thanks for a great, really great day.  Thanks for all You do for us and thanks for trusting us to work for You.  Thanks for the food pantry and thanks for the help that comes and also those who come in for food.  Thanks for watching over our family and our ministry team and their families.  Father in Heaven, thanks for trusting me at this keyboard year after year writing for You.  Please, Dear Lord, help me now with the message, and may my words come from You.  After it its written, please dispatch it for me and help me get it printed.  Again, Lord, I love You and appreciate all You do for me.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Thursday, September 26, 2013, Love (Day Four).

Matthew 22:36 - "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  37 Jesus replied:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."  38 "This is the first and greatest commandment.  39 And the second is like it:  'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I want you to think, and think really hard, about our commandments, the Ten Commandments, as we find them in Exodus 20.  If we really think about it, these "two great commandments," if you really live by them, cover those first 20 and more.  Now let's take a really good look.  What really is the main point?  It is LOVE, yes, LOVE.  Who are we to love?  Let's see, we are to Love the Lord, and we are to Love our neighbor.  Now wait, there is more!  Yes, yes, we are to love ourselves.  Now we are to Love the Lord our God and that would be our Lord Jesus, and we are to love Him with all of our heart, soul and mind.  Now there is no doubt in my mind that we should always put Jesus ahead of all others.  Now here it is in scripture.  Let's look again.  We are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  Then it tells us "This is the first and GREATEST COMMANDMENT."  This is the greatest commandment, meaning to me, put Jesus above all others in Love.

Next, Jesus told us in the scriptures we are to Love our neighbor as ourselves.  So it is okay to love one's self, and that should be our guideline for loving their neighbor.  So what happens with those folks who don't love their "self?"  Some might say if we love ourselves, we are self-centered, or "stuck on ourselves" or some other remark like that, but the point is we are to really love ourselves.  Some days that might be hard if we really mes up.  But folks, Jesus said it is okay to love ourselves.  So it brings us now to our neighbor.  First, who is our neighbor?  Well, folks, I think it is everyone except Jesus, and ourselves.  Our neighbor lives next door, across the street, in the center of town, in the next town over.  What does our neighbor look like?  Well, our neighbor comes in all shapes and sizes, they come in all colors, and they come in all religions or might not have any religion.  Our neighbor is everyone but Jesus and ourselves.

Our neighbor whom we must love might be a color other than us, they might be gay and we are against that.  But remember, we are to love the sinner and hate the sin.  Our neighbor might be someone who is loud, someone who might have been in jail.  Regardless of what our neighbor is or what they have done, Jesus said we are to love them.  Now folks, that means you all need to love each other, and we must remember that "love is the greatest gift given."  Of all the gifts God gives us, and they are many, the top three are faith, hope, and love, and out of those three, "Love is first."   No greater Love.  Tomorrow we will talk about NO GREATER LOVE.  Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to start today by just saying we love You and ask if You would help us to show our Love for You by the way we live and work.  Please, Lord, honor this prayer for us.  Father, forgive us of our sins so we might walk in Your love clean and spread the good news of Jesus and Salvation through Him.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Wednesday 9/25/13 Love (3)

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You for waking me this morning, and thanks for watching over our families and friends overnight.  Please, dear Father, forgive me of my sins so I may start fresh today.  Help me walk each step of the day in line with Jesus and do my very best to follow in His footsteps.  Thanks for sending forth Grant and Wanda yesterday to spend time in the food pantry.  Lord, thanks for hearing my prayers and acting on them according to Your will for me.  Lord, as You already know, Wednesdays on this line we call Salvation Wednesday, so please help all of us keep that on our minds this day as we work hard for You trying to lead people to the feet of Jesus to be saved.  Thanks for yesterday.  Praises to You, dear Lord, for bringing "Mike" in for food and for his coming to You asking to be Born Again.  Please help us follow up on His following of You, so if he slips we can be near to help him back on track.  Now, dear Lord, if You would be so kind to help me with the message and then please dispatch it for me.  In the name of Jesus, I give praise, thanks, and ask for help.  Amen.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  I love you!!  Welcome to Salvation Wednesday on this line.  Wow!!  What a great day yesterday, it really was.  Praise report, and this is the best kind of praise report as far as I am concerned.  Yesterday in our food pantry a gentleman came in for food  for his family.  "Mike," who has been very sick and had to stop working for awhile, confessed his sins over to Jesus and asked Jesus into his heart.  As you may or may not know, we pray with everyone who comes in for food.  On Monday, Dolores and I anointed a mother and her two very young children with oil in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and prayed for them.  Then yesterday to have a man, a construction worker, come to Jesus as we prayed for and with him.  Wanda, Grant, Dolores, and I were praying for "Mike" after we loaded a food cart for him.  He was very excited.  We have been talking to him about salvation for awhile now.  Wanda then anointed him with oil in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Of course all honor and glory to our Lord Jesus for these events.

An update on Sarah!  Praise God she is stable and showing a few signs of improvement.  Please keep praying for her.  Sarah was involved in a very serious auto accident when her vehicle was T-Boned by an SUV.  Please keep praying for Eleanor, Patsy, Vicki, Burt, Pastor Carol, Curtis, Beth and Craig and their family.  For the construction at the Crocketts.  Let's take time to pray for Pastors, Missionaries, and all others who work in the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus.  Please also keep Dolores and me in your prayers.  Lots of pain, folks, and something seems to be going wrong in my body very fast, to the point I struggle to walk.  Now let me get to the message on Love.

Salvation Wednesday, September 25, 2013, Love (Day Three)

1 John 4:7 - Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  9 This is how God showed His love among us:  He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.  10 This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.  (NIV)

John 3:16 -  For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, our scripture for today gets right into what I have been saying all week, we must love and we should love one another.  The scripture tells us that all  love comes from God.  And brothers and sisters, I want to point out to all of you that we cannot pick and choose.  You either love everyone or you don't really love anyone in the real sense of Love.  God loves all of us, each and every one.  God loves you if you are black, if you are white, if you are red, or yellow.  Remember this from Vacation Bible School years ago.

"Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world.  Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world."

If we do not love others, then  how can we love  our Lord Jesus?  Think about that, folks.  Again, I tell you that you don't want to love the sins of others, just the person.  The same goes for us, we for sure do not love even our own sins, we in fact should hate our sins, but we should love ourselves.  Yes, we should ourselves and hate our own sins.  We also need to love Jesus, and if we are struggling with loving all others, we need to really be talking to Jesus about that.  As we look deeper into our scripture, we see this.

1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

That to me is pretty clear.  We cannot pick and choose, we must love everyone.  Think about this.  God the Father sent Jesus down to save us, to save the world.  A bonus on this deal was if we follow the teachings of Jesus and we try and do what He did while He was here we have a fine example to follow.  We need to walk in His light, we need to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.  We need to follow His commands, and tomorrow we will look at several of the commands of Jesus.  Can you think about a few of the commandments that Jesus told us about?  I do want you to think about this.  God did not send Jesus down to save everyone but you, or everyone but me.  God did not tell Jesus to go and save the world except for Danny Lehman, because little Danny was a brat.  And I want so much to follow in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus, I want to do my very, very best to love everyone.  Of all the blessings God gave to us, love is the greatest.  We will look deeper into that tomorrow.  Brothers and sisters, if you struggle to love someone because of a past problem, work hard at it, talk to Jesus about it, and do all you can to get the hate out of your system.  Remember that real love comes from God.  And how much does He love you on this day, on this Salvation Wednesday?  He loves you, He loves me so much that He took a beating for us, He was spat on because of us, He was nailed to the cross because of us and for us.  Now that is love.

Think about this as we close today.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  If we do not love everyone, then the Bible tells us that we do not know God!!  So let me see, I stand up before people and tell them how much I love God and I confess myself to God while at the same time I have this hate or dislike in my mind and body for someone, someone who might be a family member or a person of a different religion or a person of a different race.  The person might be your neighbor and you are fighting over a property line.  Maybe you don't like the president or the governor of your state.  When God tells us that we must love everyone, that means everyone.  We need to go to prayer now and really talk to God about this, and we need to put it on our prayer list.  I will encourage pastors where they have prayer lines to place on those lines prayers for all of us so we learn to love everyone.  How about we get started on this, on this Salvation Wednesday?  Remember what we have talked about this morning, and it is worth repeating.  We might say we are "Born Again."  We might say that we are ready for heaven.  But if we harbor hate in our body, then according to the Bible we do not know God.  Brothers and sisters, I know this is hard, but we must love everyone.  Let's get working on it.

Dear Father in Heaven.  We need to talk, we need to have a heart-to-heart with You through Your Son Jesus.  We really do want to be Born Again, and we really do want to love everyone, so if in the back of our minds, in the deepest part of our heart and brain there is some hate sticking in us, help us to clear it out.  Help us to indeed love everyone.  Lord Jesus, You love all of us, regardless of how we at, but I know if we come to You asking that You help us to clear this hate, You will help us.  So we ask in the name of Jesus that You wash us of sins and help us to get the hate out of our lives, all of it.  Help us to patch up differences and to love others and also to hate sin, starting with our own sins and then the sins of others.  In the Holy Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Tuesday 9/24/13 Love (2)

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You very much for loving me, loving me enough to send Jesus to die for me and loving me enough to take my sins away through Your Son Jesus.  Thanks for hearing our prayers, and thanks for watching over our families and the ministries of Carry The Light.  Dear Father, help us please this day in what we do and may our love for You and Your Son Jesus be in front of all we do.  Help us, dear Lord, to love on those coming for food this day.  And, dear Lord, please be with Sarah Geisier, who was in a really bad car accident, and the doctors say they can do no more.  Lord Jesus, we trust Your healing hand.  Lord, please protect Dean and Martha's son as he has just arrived in Afghanistan.  Please, Lord, bring our troops home safe and soon, and please keep us out of wars.  Now, dear Father, if You would lay out the message for me today, planting it in my brain, heart and soul, and make my fingers move.  Then, Lord, please dispatch it for me.  In Jesus' Name, I give thanks for a beautiful day and letting me stay here to work for You and enjoy another day.  Thanks.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Tuesday, September 24, 2013, Love (Day Two)

2 Corinthians 13:8 - Love never fails.  But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.  10 But when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.  11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.  When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.  12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.  Now I know in part; when I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.  13 And now these three remain; faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I love the scriptures, I write them out for I know it might make it easier for you.  The scriptures for today I really love, for as we talk about Love, the scripture tells us "LOVE NEVER FAILS."  In other words, brothers and sisters, if we love others, truly love others, love never fails.  Parents, NEVER STOP loving your children, for once in awhile they walk from you, but if they were raised with Love, they will come back.  I know in my life I walked away from one who loved me, He loved me very, very much, in fact He died for me, and while I was raised to love Him, I turned my back on Him.  Yes, I am talking about Jesus, my dear Lord and Savior.  While I never disowned Him, I did not live to please Him.  Now I am trying very hard to please Him.  I figure this way, if I can please our Lord Jesus, and some people do not like that, SHAME ON THEM.  If I tell people I love them, I really do.  That does not mean I love their way of life!!  In other words, in other words, we must love the sinner and hate the sin.  Gosh, that sounds like Jesus!  Jesus loves all of us, each and every one, even those who hate Him, and the Bible tells us that He hates sins.  He died for our sins, to save us from our own self-destruction, and we need to love Him and we need to show that love for Jesus by not just telling Him in prayer, but by our actions in the way we live.

As children, we acted like children, but now we have grown up and we are to put away our childish ways (except for us guys playing with cars).  Just kidding, we are to be grown up.  We need to not just tell others we love them, we need to show them by our actions and our actions mean we do not tell someone we love them and then stab them in the back, so to speak, while we are gathered in the break room at work.  In our scripture for today it tells us that in the end some of our gifts will be gone, they will in fact disappear.  What will be left is faith, hope and love, and the greatest of those will be LOVE.  Someone please say amen!

Please now let us as we love others, seek out ways to really show our love for them.  We can surely pray for them, but more than that we must put "feet on our prayers."  So in our prayers today we will pray for others and also pray that God shows us ways to help others and show our love that way, even if it might be a person you have a hard time loving.  Yes, I know we all have one of those who really put us to the test.  Let's pray.

Father in Heaven, please help to teach us to Love, teach us to love as You love us, teach us to love those who hate us, just as You love ones who might hate You.  Teach us Your way, oh Lord, and help us to teach it to others.  Be with those on our prayer lists, Lord.  In Jesus' name, Lord, I want to walk, talk, live, breathe, and even sleep.  I, we, need Your help, Lord, we really, really do.  In Jesus' Name, we pray.  Amen.

Monday 9/23/2013 Love

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a wonderful weekend, and I want You to know that I love You, I really love You.  Please, dear Lord, start me fresh this week by forgiving me of my sins.  Please be with those on our prayer list from last week.  Lord, please watch over President Obama and his family, also our Vice President and other leaders in Washington, DC.  Lord, watch over Governor Corbett and his family and all those in the Pennsylvania State House and all those in state houses across this great nation.  Please, dear Lord, bless those running local governments and in all cases, national, state, local, I pray first for the soul of all those leaders.  I pray today for our veterans, our current military, and I pray You bring them home safe and soon.  Watch over our police and firefighters, and please, Lord, keep Your healing hand on long-time firefighter Robert Coburn, and please keep him clear of cancer.  Thanks for watching over our family, our ministry team, and all the ministries of Carry The Light.  Please bless all the letters that went out.  Now if You will be so king to help me with the message and then dispatch it for me.  In Jesus' Name, I pray, Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, this week God has pointed me to messages about love, and the best way to start out messages about love is to just tell you this, "I love you," I really do.  Some of you I know, while others I have never met but I love you just the same.  Please pray today for our president and all of our leaders across the country, pray also for our veterans, and remember some of them are but 18 years old and in our military hospitals.  Pray hard for our wounded warriors.  Pray for our state and local police and also the firefighters in your community.  Please send in your praise reports and prayer requests and I will get them posted for prayer.  God has pointed me to messages about love this week, so let me get started on this subject.  And please pray for me as I write this.

Monday, September 23, 2013, Love (Day One).

1 Corinthians 13:4 - Love is patient, Love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  (NIV)

Dear brothers and sisters, on a scale of 1 to 100, how strong is your love for others?  Do you love even those you have never met?  Do you love our Lord Jesus above all others?  And do you love people that might hate you or have done things against you?  And yes, I have this question for you.  Do you love yourself?

The scripture that God put on my heart this morning is one that I have used in weddings, and I feel it will be a good starting base for this week.  Let's break it down.

Love is patient.  If we truly love someone, we do need to be patient with those we love.  Now let's look for an example of this.  Love is patient, let me see, I am indeed a sinner and I know our Lord Jesus loves me, in fact He loved/loves me enough to die for me.  So we start out by following the example of our Lord Jesus.  Next we have men and women who have gone to war and gave all, gave their life for all of us, and yes, even people in other countries.  Others in our military gave up parts of their bodies for us, and we need to thank them and show love for them by supporting their efforts.  Also, when we talk about love being patient, we must learn to use that with our spouse.  Sometimes, it seems our love grows short with those we have around us most of the time.

Love is Kind.  So how can we not be kind to ones we love?  So I ask this today, if we are not being kind to them, then do we truly love them, as much as God Loves us?  I ant you to think about that one.  Think about how kind God is with us.  To name just a few things of God's kindness, just look at the weather today.

Love Does Not Envy.  If you love someone, do you envy them?  Maybe their house is bigger than yours or they have a Caddy and you have a Hugo.  (Do you remember the Hugo?)  Some people envy others for the dumbest things.  I mean how many people envy those folks or that one person who just won a few million dollars in the lottery?  Would you really want to win and have all those headaches of where to spend your money?  If you truly love the Lord, then take time to love and appreciate what He has bestowed upon you.

Love does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking.  If you are one to boast, if you are a proud person, and I am not talking about being proud of a child who has done well in school; if you are a rude person or you are always seeking rewards for yourself -- then you might need to address your love for God and for others to be sure it is real.

Love is slow to anger and does not keep account of wrongs.  In all these descriptions of LOVE we need to follow the lead of our Lord Jesus.  However, maybe this one comes out clearer than the rest.  If our Lord was to anger and kept account of our wrongs, He would be upset at me all the time and He would need a few really big books to keep score of my mess-ups.  So brothers and sisters, please, if someone has wronged you, forgive them, and then put it away.  Don't let it be like an embedded splinter in your hand and get all festered up.  Besides that, take a look at the Lord's Prayer, and pray that part that we pray, "forgive us our debts (sins), AS WE forgive those who have debts (sinned) against us."  Please remember we are forgiven as we forgive.  Amen.

Love hates evil and rejoices with truth.  Folks, if it is one thing that God tells us to hate, it is sin, and I will bring that out later this week in scripture.

Love protects, trusts, and has hope.  Love always perseveres.  While I can apply all of these things to our Lord Jesus, you would expect me to do that.  And yes, they all apply to Jesus, but I want to tell you that they all apply to those who have served our country in the military.  While we have many veterans, and many in our current military, they all love this country, or should, and that love of country protects us.  Think of the love of our military, our police and firefighters as we pray today.

Love comes from God and if it were not for Him, dare I say we would not even have or know anything about it.  Most would just think love is sex.  Tomorrow, more love and maybe a love story or two.  Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for loving us, thanks for loving me, and thanks, Lord, for teaching me to love and understand it.  Lord, I want to give thanks for our pets that love us also, and also give us something to  hold onto when we sometimes get lonely.  Please be with our leaders and all of our military and keep them safe and bring them home soon.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Friday 9/20/13 Straight 5

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You very, very much for dying for me, for dying to take away my sins.  Please wash me clean today so I may go forth clean to serve You.  Thanks for all You do for me, as I am so unworthy and You love me so much.  Lord Jesus, I love You also, and I want to walk this day for You.  Please hold onto me so I might not slip and backslide, and please, if it is in Your will for me, please take away some pain so I can walk better.  Thanks for watching over my family and ministry team and all who use this line.  Now, Dear Father, if You would, please plant on my mind, heart, and soul the message and after that, may You put Your hand on it, anoint it, and dispatch it for me.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, as you can see, it is Saturday morning and I am just getting the Friday message out.  Don't know where yesterday went, but I do know we were out to hear some good gospel music up at the Duncannon Assembly of God Church.  The newest edition of the Couriers sang and they sounded great.  What talent God has loaned to these gentlemen.  In the meantime, the original Couriers, Dave, Duane, and Neil, are on the road in Canada on what is to be their final tour.  Anyway, it was a great evening, and everyone who came was surely blessed by God through the voices of Larry, Brett, and Tim.  As one door seems to be closing,  God will open wide other doors.  May God richly bless Larry, Brett, Tim, Dave, Duane, and Neil, and may all Christians carry on the good name and become Couriers of God's word in all they do spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Come on, let's go Straight!

Friday, September 20, 2013, Straight (Day 5).

Matthew 3:1 - In those days John The Baptist came, preaching in the desert of Judea, 2 and saying, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near."  3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:  "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"  (NIV)

Matthew 3:13 - Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.  14 But John tried to deter Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?  15 Jesus replied, "Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness."  Then John consented.  16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.  At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him.  17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is My Son, whom I love, with Him I am well pleased."  (NIV)

Matthew 4:17 - From that time on Jesus began to preach.  "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, if we want to make our paths straight, and as we talked earlier this week, to do this we must fix our eyes upon Jesus and keep walking STRAIGHT towards him.  That is not always easy for sinners such as us, but we can do it, we really can.  First, we need to be talking with Jesus, take time to put down the cell phone, stop texting, turn off the television and radio and talk to our Lord Jesus.  And the very next thing we need to do is "REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR."  I am quoting both Jesus and John the Baptist here on this scripture, and folks, I am telling you the same Good News.  Folks, soon we are going to see the return of our Lord Jesus.  He is going to be coming back for all of us who are indeed "Born Again."  All of us who have been washed in the blood.  Now I am going back and review something I wrote last week.  I pray you will go over these scriptures as they will indeed point you STRAIGHT toward Heaven.  Amen.

Who really needs a Plan of Salvation?  All of us!

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  (NIV)

Do sinners get paid?  Yes, they do, let's look!

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NIV)

What must we do to get into heaven?  First, we need to repent of our sins.  Let's look!

Matthew 9:13 - "But go and learn what this means:  'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.  For I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners."  (NIV)

Matthew 4:17 - From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."  (NIV)

Why in the world would God want to save sinners?  People, He made and gave us freedom to rule over everything, gave us free will to do what we want.  So why?

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."  17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."  (NIV)

So as I said, there is a price to pay for our sins and that is death, look back up at Romans 6:23.  So then, who paid the price of our sins?  Let's take a good look at this.

Romans 5:8 - But  God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  (NIV)

So why must we go to Jesus for His Saving Grace?  Why not someone else?  Let's look it up.

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  NO ONE comes to The Father except through me."  (NIV)

So now we know all of this, what must we do?  Yes, back to the Bible, the inspired Word of God!

Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  (NIV)

Now, brothers and sisters, let us go STRAIGHT to God in prayer.

Dear Father in Heaven, we come to You this day, I come to You this day asking forgiveness of sins and for You to help make my path straight for You.  Help me keep my eyes fixed straight on You and Your road for me.  Help today all who ask.  Save us, Lord, save us, save me, Your unworthy servant Dan.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Thursday 9/19/13 Straight 4

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You so very much for all the help You have been to me this very day.  Lord, I just cannot do a thing without You, nor do I want to.  Please, Lord, watch over our family and all those who use this line.  Be with our ministry team and their families.  Lord, I pray for Curtis and his anger issues and ask that You heal him of those issues.  Lord, please help me now with the message of today.  Place Your words in my mind and fingertips so I can get the message out the way You want it and to glorify You with it.  Then please dispatch it for me.  All  glory and honor is Yours this day for a beautiful day, and I pray that what I did today pleased You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters:  It was indeed a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, just beautiful.  Please keep Bob Feldman and  his family in your prayers.  (I sent this request out about noon.)  Please pray for Beverly (knee surgery), Sandy and her son Jeremy (emotional), Michael (emotional).  Praise Report, Donna and Dennis just had their wedding anniversary and were remarried.  Their entire family made the service.  Congratulations Dennis and "Gabby" for saying to each other, you are happy to do it all over again.  Our son Matthew.  Vicki (many problems), Eleanor (rehabbing at Church of God Home), Patsy and Burt (missing each other, as Patsy is now residing in a nursing home), Curtis (anger), Beth and Craig (their house).

Pray for Tim, Larry, and Brett, for their concert tomorrow evening, at the Duncannon Assembly of God.  And you are welcome to hear these men of God sing.  The concert is at 7:00 PM Friday evening.  These three gentlemen were the last edition of the Couriers to be on the road as The Couriers.  They are good!!!  (A love offering will be taken.)

Thursday, September 19, 2013, Straight (Day Four).

John 1:23 - John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.'"  (NIV)

So let me talk about STRAIGHT for another day.  Maybe I should use the term "going straight."  I have heard of this term being used by folks who have been involved in crime, and after paying back by paying fines and/or spending some time in prison, they come out and say "I am going straight."  Another term that is used when there is an addiction problem is "they are on the wagon," just another term for going straight or getting their life straightened out.  I just want you to think about a few things today.  The Bible talks about "making straight the way for the Lord."  As I wrote yesterday, it means take the obstacles out of the way.  And yes, when our Lord Jesus came to earth, starting right from the very beginning thee were obstacles in the way.  One of the first ones I can think of is "there was no room for Him in the inn."  Today, our Lord Jesus is still the same, and brothers and sisters, there are still obstacles being placed in His way.  Yes, folks, each day, each and every day, our Lord Jesus and Christians are under attack.

What are some of the obstacles today?  Well, let's start out by talking about our Lord Jesus being tossed out of schools, and yes, yes we can send Him in, in the hearts of our children and grandchildren, it seems all references of our Lord had to be removed.  Gone is reading of the Bible in school and praying The Lord's Prayer.  People are pushing each day to have "In God We Trust" removed from our money.  The Bible has warned us that these things will happen, so please do not panic.  We who love Jesus, we who really follow Jesus (and yes, we also mess up from time to time) need to witness for Him regardless of where we are.  Please do not be afraid to pray for and with people on the street, but please not in the middle of the street.  If someone says to you, "will you pray for me?" please grab their hand and pray with them on the spot.  I pray for people in the food store, in Sears, on the streets, and no one has ever told me to stop.  Remember, you just do not go up and grab a stranger or a child and pray.  But when they ask, don't walk away without doing those prayers.

Now I did get off track a tad today, but before I stop for today, I do want to put forth a word, a really wonderful word that means to me to make straight.  For us to make straight paths to our Lord.  Remember please we also need to get the obstacles out of our way, and as I said yesterday most of the obstacles are our sins.  So tomorrow we are going to "Go Straight" by doing this.  We are going to REPENT!  We are going to look into repenting and to me if we do not repent of what we have done, then we are not going STRAIGHT.  So please come back tomorrow and you can get a start on it by joining me now in prayer.  Come on, join me, please.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins and please help me to repent of those sins and walk that straight line with our eyes fixing straight on our Lord Jesus Christ.  Dear Father, please be with all those on our prayer list, and all those on the prayer list that my dear brother Pastor Larry posts each day.  Most of all, Lord Jesus, we want to thank You for dying for us on the cross and saving us from our own sinful ways.  Help each of us to walk in Your light.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You very much for a really blessed day.  Please, dear Father, forgive me of my sins and start me again fresh.  I love You, dear Jesus.  Please, Lord, thanks for watching over Dolores this morning when she fell.  Please help her to stand and not fall.  Thanks for the food blessings that came in today and thank You that we could help others through the Ministry You have granted unto us.  Thanks for all You do, and please now, Father, help me with the message and then please dispatch it for me.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Good afternoon,my dear brothers and sisters.  It is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line and the day we pray for the lost.  Pray that God will open doors for you to witness to others.  Please remember we can only lead people to Jesus, He is The Savior and takes care of His end, we must just get our end done for Him.  Praise report.  New Hope Ministries gave us two skids of cereal, cleaning products and other things this day.  In return we were able to give to them peanut butter and canned veggies that we have been able to purchase.  Praise report.  Dolores fell this morning and she was okay, and so was the floor.  Please keep praying for Patsy and Burt and those others who have been on our prayer list.  Now let me get to the message, Straight 3.

Salvation Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Straight 3.

Isaiah 40:3 - A voice of one calling:  "In the desert prepare the way for the Lord, make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God."  (NIV)

Matthew 3:1 - In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."  3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah.  "A voice of one calling in the desert.  'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"  (NIV)

John the Baptist, the wild one who people say might have looked like me (beard, long hair, etc.).  But while I love honey, i just ain't going to eat the locust, although being a biker I have downed a few flying bugs over the years.  Anyway, you can see in the scriptures above how what is recorded in Isaiah, what Isaiah talked about came to be with John the Baptist.  Make straight paths for Him, the Bible tells us.  Prepare a highway for God.  What does this  mean?  Prepare a highway for God?  Make straight paths for Him?   First, to make straight paths for Him is to remove the obstacles.  This is how highways are made today, obstacles must be removed.

Today, if we are going to make a straight path for us, a straight way to the Lord, we also need to remove obstacles that would be blocking our path, our highway to salvation.  What are those obstacles?  SIN, SIN, AND MORE SIN.  Also, folks, we who have been born again still need to fight to keep in that straight path.   Forces of evil are going to try and turn us from God.  Christians will be under attack more and more all the time.  Have you ever watched a football game?  Sure you have!  Have you watched from time to time a player running down that sideline?  Running for the goal, and some other player from the other team comes and tries to knock him out of bounds.  Picture it, we are running down that sideline, that straight path toward our goal which is not the end zone but Heaven.  Well, that really would be our "end zone."  Over and over others try and knock us out of bounds.  Instead of a football under our arm, we are running with our Bible.  Some will try and take it in the end.  But we must keep running straight, our eyes on our Lord Jesus.  Please do not let sin push you off line or "out of bounds."

Folks, as John the Baptist was speaking out that the Lord will be coming, we must be doing the same today.  It is our turn to be calling out, not just in the desert, but in the office, in the cities of our country, in the big towns, in the back woods.  The Harvest is ripe, and we must  bring in the crops.  Autumn is the time of the time of the harvest and I truly believe we are in the Autumn years and we really need to be working the crops.  Salvation Wednesday.  Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, we need to be working more and more for You and we confess we need Your help to get it done.  Open doors for us and anoint us to do this work.  Be with all those on our prayer list.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Tuesday 9/17/13 Straight 2

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You for watching over me, and thanks for all  You do for me each day.  Please help me to keep going on for You each and every day and let me not get discouraged when things start to go wrong.  Please just help me lean on You even more.  Now, Lord, please help me with the message of today.  May it be from You and not from me.  Then please dispatch it for me.  In Jesus' Name I pray.  Amen.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  By now I would think you have heard the news about the shootings in Washington, DC.  Please pray for the families of those who were killed and for all others who were wounded either by the shooter or by the events of the day (emotional stress).  Please keep praying for our leaders, as you can see it is not a safe place.  Also remember to pray for the family of the shooter.  I am sure their lives just got turned upside down.  Please pray for Dan Stoner.  Dan and his family, our missionaries who are going to fly into the into the "back woods" to get the message out.  Dan is back in the states for treatment of cancer.  Pray please that he is healed and his family can find a place to live together near the hospital where he is being treated.  You should receive our annual letter today sometime via email.  I will keep it separate from this message.  Some on our mailing list will receive a hard copy in the mail.  Now let me get to the message.  Oh, my spell check option is gone again.  So please forgive my spelling.  Thanks.

Tuesday, September 17, 2013, Straight (Day Two).

Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths STRAIGHT.  (NIV)

Proverbs 4:10 - Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.  11 I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along STRAIGHT paths.  (NIV)

I ask all of us today, us includes me, do we really give all of our trust to the Lord or do we just put some trust in Him?  Maybe we trust in Him for some things, but, well, when I say get leaning over my car fender to  fix something, trust more in myself as a mechanic than God?  Over the years, maybe you have done this, for I confess I have done it often, we start a project, maybe like me I am doing something on a car and I just cannot get it done, then after trying and trying I stop and ask God to help me.  "Come on, Lord, I need some help here!"  I have called out after a period of time.  While I don't know what God is thinking, I do not know God's mind, but He just might be thinking, "so you tried and failed and now You want me to come and STRAIGHTEN it out for you?"

You see in our first scripture for today that it tells us this:  "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean NOT on YOUR OWN understanding."  So I ask today, do you?  And do I?  Trust in the Lord with ALL  our heart?  Do we really do that?  Well, I am sorry to say that I mess up on that one.  Now when I sit here and think about it, I say yes, I do trust him 100% of the time, but my actions do not prove that out.  Oh, those confessions of a pastor.  That next verse, Proverbs 3:6, tells us:  "In ALL your ways acknowledge Him."  And do we do that?  Come on, be truthful!  I am hard on you this morning, but I am being hard on myself also.  Listen to me here, if we do these things, trust in the Lord and we acknowledge Him, what happens then?  According to the Bible, it tells us this:  "He will make your paths STRAIGHT."  He will help us, He will help keep us out of trouble, He will keep us, well, walking the line.

Let's look at that next verse.  Wow, look at this.  "Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many."  Gosh, we can make our years many if we accept what Jesus says.  Now we have heard that someplace else.  Let's go find another place.

Exodus 20:14 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.  (NIV)

So if we accept what God says, and one of those things is to what?  Yes, honor our father and our mother.  But wait, what if like me, your parents are gone?  How can I still honor them?  Folks, you surely can honor someone after they are gone.  Keep looking at your memories and keep thanking God you had loving parents who like me had Christian parents.  But what if your parents seemed bad when you were being raised, and some were bad, and others not the best.  Are you ready for this?  Forgive them of the bad stuff, as our Father in Heaven forgives us of our bad stuff, and lean on the good things they did.  I had good parents and they loved God, mamma more outspoken about it than Pop.  Oh, my Pop was very patriotic, yes, he was.  For if I stepped out of line, he made my backside red and some blue and I am white.  So you have red, white, and blue, and sometimes I would see the stars.  Folks, I am kidding o that, while I did take on a few well-deserved spankings in my lie, I WAS NOT ABUSED.  Anyway, if we ACCEPT WHAT JESUS SAYS, and we honor our father and mother, we can live longer.  His word also tells us, "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along STRAIGHT paths."  Again, if we just accept what He says, and I think we need to prayer now and talk to God.

Dear Father in Heaven, please help us to love You more each day and help us to listen to You and to understand You and accept all of what You tell us.  Lord, please be with those on our prayer list.  Lord, be in Washington, DC, and protect our leaders.  And Lord, please heal Dan Stoner so he can get back on the mission trail for You.  And now, Lord, if You will please help me get a tad more sleep, I sure would appreciate it.  Bless my spelling, Lord.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Monday 9/16/13 Straight!

Dear Father in Heaven:  Lord, thanks for another morning, and thanks for waking us.  Please forgive me of my sins as I want to start this day clean, and Lord, help me stay that way.  Thanks for watching over family and friends during the weekend.  Lord Jesus, I do appreciate You and all You do, and Lord, please help me with this message and then, please, Lord, dispatch it.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Good Morning, dear brothers and sisters.  Well, getting used to a new computer is hard for me, and I am still having trouble, but I must journey on for the Lord.  I am going to change the order I have been writing and I want to tell you of the few changes.  The first prayer is going to be personal.  It sort of fits what I am doing; however, if you put yourself in the I spot, it will work out.  Then will be this opening where I will list prayer requests, after which will come the message, and then before the closing we will pray again so we can pray together for those on the list.  Then a brief closing.  Ministry updates will go in as needed.  Okay, let me list some prayer requests today.

Vicki has a plateful.  Curtis for anger.  Beth, Craig, and family, for their home.  Debbie to keep cancer in remission.  Elaine for her foot to heal, Art for his eyesight.  My wife Dolores for pain, and for her fingers to keep working so she can play the piano for God.  For Patsy, who has been moved to a nursing home and her husband Burt for his problems.  For Eleanor Saylor, also at a nursing home for rehab.  For Grant and Wanda and Wanda's parents.  Lord, for all of our children, yours and ours.  For the Stoner family. For Tim, Larry, and Brett.  Also Dave, Duane, and Neil, all wonderful men of God.  While I am sure I missed some, I will keep working to catch up.  With all that, let me get going on with the message.  STRAIGHT.

Monday, September 16, 2013, Straight (Day One).

Psalm 27:11 - Teach me Your way, O Lord; lead me in a STRAIGHT path because of my oppressors.  (NIV)

Psalm 107:7 - He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, as I look at the scriptures and pray over them, what the Lord gives me is so often different than the footnotes in my Bible.  Sometimes I just stop and talk to the Lord while I am sitting at the computer asking Him, tell me what You mean and what You want me to write.  Other times it just flows out.  Today is one of those days I must keep talking to God as I write, and  maybe that is what I should do each day.  Let me start with "Teach me Your way, O Lord."  Gosh, brothers and sisters, we should be praying that each day, yes, each day.  Lord Jesus, please teach me Your way, the way You want me to live.  Of course I am going to write it like this today.  Lord Jesus, please teach us Your way.  Please, please, teach us Your way, O Lord.  You know, growing up in a home years ago, yes, back when the streets were dirt and we drank out of a hose sometimes, my parents taught me to say "please and thank you."  I mean they taught me other things also, like things about Jesus and how to tie my shoes.  But back in those days I was reminded to say please, and also thank you.  I think most parents and grandparents are teaching their children that today.  So then I must ask myself and also throw the question at you, why do we so often not say PLEASE AND THANK YOU to our Lord in prayer?  Or when we sing that song, God Bless America, why do we not put in the word please, and then after singing just say Thank You, Jesus?  I just stopped and went back up to my opening prayer to see if I had Please and Thank You in that prayer and I did.  So let me put Please and Thank You in this Psalm of prayer.

"Please teach me Your way, O Lord, and Please lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.  Thank You for hearing my prayer, O Lord, which I offer up in Jesus' name.  Amen."

As we pray we also should want our prayers answered according to His will for us and not ours.  Let me talk about being Straight.  We do need to walk that straight line for our Lord Jesus.  And brothers and sisters, if you are one, and I pray you are not, but if you are one who drinks and drives, you might be taken out of your car and asked to walk a straight line.  I also feel that if we have the Lord in our hearts He will hear our prayers and act favorably on them; however, and once again I say it might not be what we prayed for but what He thinks is best for us.  He hears all prayers and He answers all prayers, and please remember, NO can be an answer!

In Psalm 107:7, He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.  This could fit all of us today, if we just pray.  Some might even be going to a new city, others just going to work, and the road has changed.  If we go to our Lord, and really pray, He will make our paths straight and the road we should want to follow will be straight and you know what road I am talking about, it is our road home.  The Road to Heaven.

Dear Father in Heaven, please help us to walk a straight line for You, one that looks right at You, one that while we are here on earth will set an example for others as we walk it for and with You.  Please help us to walk that line each day for You in all that we do.  Please hear our prayers for those on our prayer list that we have written, and Lord, thanks for all You do for us each and ever day, for the air we breathe, the clothes we wear, the food we eat, and for our water, and a list of other blessings too long to type.  Know, Lord, we thank You for them and they are indeed appreciated.  Now, Lord, please, please, bless all on this line and their families and friends.  Please bless our nation and our leaders and protect them, Lord.  Again, I pray and ask, Please be with our President and his family.  Please, Lord, bring our military home safe and soon.  In Jesus' name, I ask saying please and thank you, Lord.  Amen.

Friday 9/13/13 Weariness

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thanks for a great day, it was just perfect in everything.  Thanks for sending our weather according to Your will for us.  Lord, forgive me of my sins and sinful thoughts.  Forgive me of sins that I might not be aware I am doing and point them out to me.  Lord, thanks again for the printer that came from You to us, and thanks for helping me to get it working today.  I am still learning this system, and Lord, I do need Your help.  Thanks, Lord, for a great neighbor who came over and cut up a tree that the wind took down.  And Lord, please watch over them, his eyes and her ankle.  Lord, it is wonderful to have neighbors that we can pray with right out in the driveway.  Lord, be with Tom Sansoni and watch over him.  Lord, be with Vicki and help her.  Lord, help me please with this message and then dispatch it for me.  And Lord, be with our son Matthew.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Friday, September 13, 2013, Weariness (Day 2).

Psalm 23:1 - The Lord is my Shepherd:  I shall not want.  2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  He leadeth me beside the still waters.  3 He restoreth my soul:  He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.  4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.  5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  (KJV)

My dear brothers and sisters, the 23rd Psalm is a great scripture when you are tired and when you are weary.  It has great comfort when you have lost a loved one.  Many, many funerals that I have attended and/or pastored used the 23rd Psalm.  In the past, God has given me a week's worth of writing on this wonderful scripture.  This evening, Lord willing, I just want to bring out some verses that can be used for comfort as our nation struggles about going to war again.  As you know, all last week, I talked about our country and our leaders who have no Moral Authority to judge others when we kill so many people in America.

However, we do need to know that God is still in control and He will take care of those who love Him and follow Him.  I just want you to know that when God is in control and He really is.  Not only does He tell us not to worry, for He will carry our burdens, but He will take care of us.  Again, I don't just want to tell you that, I want to show you in the scriptures.  Again, you should always check out what you are told about Jesus by going to the Bible and checking out the scriptures.  So let me get right to the 23rd Psalm.

Psalm 23:1 - The Lord is my Shepherd:  I shall not want.

While it seems we all have wants, the scripture means we will not be in want for our basic needs.  Our Lord will provide the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the clothes we wear.  Now besides supplying those basic needs, He indeed supplies a lot of our wants.  I want you to think about it.  While we should have food to keep us for a few days if our power goes out, there is no reason to hoard food and then have it spoil.  We need to trust, and it is faith.

Psalm 23:2 - He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  He leadeth me beside the still waters.

Think of it this way, my dear brothers and sisters.  When we get tired, when we get weary, we have a bed, and we can stretch out on it.  Okay, there are some homeless people in America, but my dear brothers and sisters, most are homeless by choice.  And in America, folks, there are places to go to get help.  So think about it, even the homeless can find a place to lay down their weary heads.  As for the still waters, most of that today you can find in bottles.  When I was growing up, back when the streets were still dirt, we would drink out of a hose, or we would find a spring and drink from it.  Back in the days when Jesus walked this earth, He just calmed the storms and they pulled drinking water from wells and rivers, etc.

Psalm 23:3 - He restoreth my soul:  He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Look at this, He restores my soul.  Brothers and sisters, having your soul restored in my opinion is much more important than having some food for your belly.  Think about that, what good is it to feed your body if your soul is hungry and does not get fed?  Carry The Light Ministries is now using this term on the side of our trailer -- "Feeding the Body and the Soul."  And yes, if we don't turn our backs on Him, He will lead us in the paths of righteousness.  And folks, why does He do this?  Why would He restore our soul and leadeth us in righteousness?  Well, folks, according to the scriptures, He does it for "His Name's sake."  That is why we need to honor Him.  Can we say this right now?  Thank You, I love You, Jesus.

Psalm 23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:  for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

This verse just tells us that He is with us regardless of where we go, we just need to call on Him and then, folks, "have no fear."  On our motorcycle, we had hand-painted an open Bible with this, "Yea though I RIDE through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil."

Psalm 23:5 - Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

The Lord will see that our table is prepared even in front of our enemies.  He will anoint us and our cups will run over.  With Jesus you do not need to care if that glass is half full or half empty for our cup will run over.  Meaning  our blessings will be so many we can't count them all.

Psalm 23:6 - Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Now listen, folks, listen to this, as we know, the end will come someday for all of us here on earth.  However, if we believe, if we walk with the Lord, if we love Him, if we are saved, this is the way it will be --we will be with our Lord Jesus in Heaven.

Again, I went long, but this is good comfort food, so why worry, why fret?  God is in control.  Someone say AMEN!  Now go forth and share your blessings.

Thursday 9/12/13 Weariness

Dear Heavenly Father:  Thank You so much for another great and wonderful day.  Thanks for the printer that You sent us last evening and for the food that arrived.  Thanks for the rains of today and for the storms that passed by without damage.  Please, dear Lord, be with the Saylor family, and Lord, be with Eleanor as she rehabs.  Lord, be with Patsy and also Burt.  Be with both Barbara's.  Thanks for watching over families.  I pray today for Curtis and ask Your hand upon this little one.  Lord, please help the young girl from Palmyra be found safe, as Lord, she has been gone one year today.  Oh, please, Lord, help this family.  Lord, thanks for hearing our prayers and seeing that our president has not shot off missiles at other countries.  Lord, again I pray for our president and I pray for his soul and I pray this nation strikes down abortion.  Help this country to rise up and bring up our moral standards.  Now, Lord, if You will please guide my ind and hands as I work for You this evening on a message, I sure would appreciate it, and then please dispatch it for me.  Oh, Lord, and help me learn this computer.  All  honor and glory to You, Dear Jesus, and may we honor You by living a life for You.   In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters.  I am so blessed, so very blessed.  I am sorry that I am late today again, however, it was a good thing today.  Jeff, our son-in-law who owns Mummert Plumbing, was here today working on some repairs in the food pantry.  We had some work done just a few years ago when we put new shelving in our  food pantry, and what the contractor did at the time was done wrong (some dryer venting in the ceiling) and it all had to be taken out and done over.  That is now corrected!!  Also, I must share this, as you know I have been having computer problems and then printer problems, and while we had purchased a new computer, we still had printer problems.  Last evening, Bill and Joni showed up at our home with food for the food pantry and a brand new printer for the ministry.  I am excited about getting it out of the box and getting it up and running.  I did not get to that today because of the other work going on.  Maybe tonight yet.  I need to share this with you.  As you know, we love dogs, and the largest of our dogs, a big Yorkshire, was really dragging today.  I called our vet and told her what the problems were and she instructed me to give him one spoonful of gasoline.  I questioned that, for I had never heard of it, and she assured me that it was okay.  So I gave the dog the gasoline and he perked right up, ran around the house time and time again and then just fell over.  Dolores asked me, did he just die?  No, no, I said, he just ran out of gas!!  Okay, I need to get to the message.

Thursday, September 12, 2013, Weariness.

Matthew 11:27 - "All things have been committed to me by my Father.  No one knows the Son except the Father and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses  to reveal Him.  28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, once again I feel that God is giving me a message that points right back at me because I have been so tired and weary lately.  Also, all last week I hammered on Moral Authority and all about how this country is, and now this week God has me working on the good  stuff, and what all He will do for us, if we truly, truly love Him.  Monday/Tuesday it was about Peace in Turmoil, yesterday it was all about Salvation, and today about rest.

Over the years, I am sure we all have become weary over different things, and the Bible tells us we are to cast our burdens to the Lord.  We are not to worry, but to me that might be the very hardest thing to do.  I know in the past I have taken my burdens, my worries, my troubles, to the altar at church and gave them over to the Lord.  I have prayed about it, I was on my knees, and I handed it all over to the Lord.  Then I got up off my knees and picked up all those worries and burdens and carried them back to my seat and then out the door with me.  I mean, this is hard to do.  WE worry about our children and for you who have children who are still in school, if you think the cares and worries stop when they get out on their own, no,  no, folks, you get more and more concerned, for we all want to see all of our children and grandchildren do better than we did.  Am I right on this one?  But truly, our Lord Jesus does want to help us, and we do need to cast our burdens upon Him and indeed if we do that He will give us peace of mind.  Over the years on this prayer line we have prayed for many of our children, our kids, some we would not reveal the names by request of parents, others the names were posted.

We try not to worry, but we do have concerns and they run deep.  This week you might join us as we pray for Dino and Leann.  Leann is our daughter, and she is at bike week at the shore, and yes, she rides her own Harley.  The Bible does give us instructions, and we should have peace in that.  In the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, Jesus is telling us to come to Him.  Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, Jesus tells us, and then He states I will give you rest.  And brothers and sisters, it is not just rest for the body, it is also for the soul.  Jesus tells us that His burden is light.  Gosh, for all the burdens that I lay on Him, I would think it would be heavy, but Jesus carried/carries the sins of the world, not just mine.  He carries yours also, and He wants to carry them all.  Maybe tonight, whatever night it might be after you read this message, try laying in your bed and just turning everything on your mind over to Him, and let's see if it is easier to fall asleep.  Will you try that with me, dear brothers and sisters?  Let's take a minute right now and give Jesus our burdens and cares, and then let's try hard not to pick them back up.  And please, do it again and again and really before you go to sleep each night.

Dear Father in Heaven:  Forgive us of our sins, forgive me of my sins, and here they are, Lord, my burdens, my cares, and my load.  Please carry it for me.  Please and thank You.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Wednesday 9/11/2013 Protection

Dear Father in Heaven:  I love You, and I really appreciate all  You do for our family, our ministry team and their families and all those on this line and their families.  I love and appreciate You more and more each day and pray that others do also.  Please, Dear Lord, give us protection this day, protection from all things that You want us protected from.  And Lord, I know I am unworthy of all that You do for me for I confess I am a sinner now saved by Your grace and I pray that each day I, and in fact all of us, do a better job of walking the line with and for You.  Please protect our nation and thanks for answering our prayers that we have not gone to war again.  Please keep Your hand on our president and help him, and Lord, I pray for his soul and that if he is not saved through Jesus, I pray that this is the day.  In Jesus' wonderful Name, I give thanks.  And Lord, I praise You for all things good.  Again, I love You.  In Jesus' name,  I pray.  Amen.

Good  Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  I want to start by telling all of you that I love you.  I do not say it lightly, and the love is not just because we are told to love everyone, I really love you.  Today is Salvation Wednesday on this line, and the title of my message is Protection.  Yes, this is the anniversary of September 11, 2001, when our country came under attack.  I need to do updating on our prayer requests and I want to try and get them in line today.  Please, if you have prayer requests, please put "Prayer Request" in the subject line.  Let me get to the message.

Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday:  September 11, 2013, Protection.

John 17:11 - "I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to You, Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your Name, The Name You gave Me, so that they may be one as WE are one.  12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that Name You gave Me.  None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled."  (NIV)

John 17:15 - "My prayer is not that You take them out of the world but that You protect them from the evil one."  (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, with all that is going on in the world today and in the United States of America, we sure do need protection, and while our military does a great job of protecting our country, we have watched on this date twelve years ago when our protection was down and we were hit hard by those who hate us.  This happened other times, as some of you are old enough or have studied about that date, December 7, 1941, when we were attached at Pearl Harbor.  Our police and firefighters also protected us but they cannot do it all as seen in Boston a few months ago.  So where then do we go for protection?  Brothers and sisters, we go to our Lord Jesus and that is for our personal protection.  Yes, I know that even with our Lord Jesus we might not get protected from all things on this earth, but if someone gets to us, that protection He offers us through Salvation will protect us forever in our New Home in Heaven.

We look at the words of Jesus in the scriptures above and we see the protection He has prayed to our Holy Father for us to be protected.  Remember again that these Words ring true today for us, as Jesus is the same.  We are the disciples of today if indeed we are in love with Jesus and are working for Him.  Once again I want to show you the scripture where the Bible tells us that Jesus is the same.

Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."  (NIV)

Now since this is Salvation Wednesday and we need protection, I think it is the best day to go back over some of the scriptures that point out to us "The Way Home:"  By the way, you will not be able to plug an address into your directions thing you carry in your car to find your way to Heaven.  Let's make our plan now and maybe you could not these scriptures and check them out.  You should always back up what a pastor tells you with scriptures.  Okay, let's make our plan of protection, our plan of Salvation, and map out our road home!

Who really need a Plan of Salvation?  All of us!

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NIV)

Do sinners get paid?  Yes, they do, let's look!

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NIV)

What must we do to get into heaven?  First, we need to repent of our sins.  Let's look!

Matthew 9:13 - "But go and learn what this means:  'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.  For I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners."  (NIV)

Matthew 4:17 - From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."  (NIV)

Why in the world would God want to save sinners?  People, He made and gave us freedom to rule over everything, gave us free will to do what we want.  So why?

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."  17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."  (NIV)

So as I said there is a price to pay for our sins and that is death, look back up at Romans 6:23.  So then who paid the price of our sins?  Let's take a good look at this.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV)

So why must we go to Jesus for His Saving Grace?  Why not someone else?  Let's look it up.

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  NO ONE comes to The Father except through me."  (NIV)

So now we know all of this, what must we do?  Yes, back to the Bible, the inspired Word of God!

Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  (NIV)

So there it is, folks, in The Word, right from our Bible.  And NIV is the New International Version.  So what is left to do?  Well, it is time to pray, to confess and be sure we believe.  If you are saved, you can surely, like I am going to do, and that is start fresh right now.  Now I can't pray this one for you, so if you believe, be it a new believer or a long timer, please join me.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks  for sending Jesus to save my sinful soul, please clean me up today for indeed I do sin.  Wash me white as snow and have me ready for heaven, and please help me keep clean here on earth.  Help me walk it each day with You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Mon/Tues 9/9-10/13 Peace in Turmoil

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day, and Lord, please forgive me of my sins and any sinful thinking that I might do.  Lord, please, please be with those on our prayer lists of the past, and please, Lord, forgive me for I am not being very timely with Your messages.  Lord, please help me to get caught after and get the messages out on time.  Please help me to learn this new computer and help me to get a printer and get it online.  Lord, I really need Your help.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters, I am still having trouble trying to get back in the swing with the new computer and how often it has gone down since I got it.  Most of it has been the fact that I am really computer stupid.  Anyway, we need to really be praying for our nation and being the eve of 9/11 the twelfth year since the events of 9/11/2001, and I am sure most of us remember that.  Also, tomorrow is Salvation Wednesday on this line, and we really need to be working to get people to come to Jesus.  So please now, after my personal prayer to start the message, please join me in prayer.  WOW, when I typed in join me in prayer, the power went out, and that took the computer off line.  Power came up at 6:10 PM and I just got the computer up and running.  As I said, I just ain't all that smart when it comes to computer's.  Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, please, please bless  our nation and please, please keep us out of a war.  Please dump President Obama to his knees, Lord, humble him as we pray he will come to You.  Lord, protect  our nation, and of course we pray today for worldwide peace.  Only You, Lord, can bring peace, and we would appreciate it.  Now, Lord, help me with the message and then dispatch it for me.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Monday/Tuesday, September 9/10, 2013, Peace in Turmoil.

Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again:  Rejoice!  5 Let your gentleness be evident to all.   The Lord is near.  6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.  (NIV)

This evening (Tuesday) our president is going to give another speech.  He wants to go to war, I guess.  Last week I talked to you all about Moral Authority and told you that the only Moral Authority is our Lord Jesus Christ.  And I talked about why we in America are unworthy to act on Moral Authority.  Now after looking at all the ways we can mess up and telling all of us, including myself, that we need to clean up our own acts before looking at others as if we are the Moral Authority.

On today's message God is pointing me to scriptures that will give us peace in turmoil, and indeed our nation and the world is in turmoil.  What Paul wrote to the Philippians and is recorded starting in Philippians chapter 4 verse 4 seems to fit us as we walk the walk with and for Jesus Christ and will give us some added peace in turmoil that we need in the market place today.

Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again:  Rejoice!  (NIV)

This is telling us that we need to rejoice in the Lord always.  That means all the time.  We should rejoice even when things are not going our way.  We should be rejoicing in what is going on in our country only for the good things and God has only given us good things.  We should be rejoicing in having food and clothes, etc., but we should NOT rejoice in the way our country is according to our lack of Morals.  (If the shoe fits, wear it.)  However, I pray you do get new shoes!!  We are to be gentle people so all other people see that in us.  After all, if we are true followers of Jesus.  The Bible tells us also the Lord is near.  Now, brothers and sisters, that to me has two meanings.  First of all, He is near us always, because if we are indeed BORN AGAIN then He is living in us, and if we are not He is nearby waiting upon us to invite Him in.  Of course it also means to me that the Lord is coming back, and I think it will be soon.  Do you remember years ago driving through the country and seeing on the side of the barns, "Ye must chew Mail Pouch Tobacco."  No, Dan, that is not it, I was seeing if you are awake.  While some barn sides did say about Mail Pouch, what I was talking about was the barns which had written on them, "Ye must be Born Again."  The scripture also tells us this ...

Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the Peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  (NIV)

Here we are being told not to be anxious, in other  words do not worry.  The Bible also tells us in

Matthew 24:6 - "You will hear of wars and rumors f wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.  Such things must happen, but the end is still to come."  (NIV)

Yes, in the words of Jesus, my brothers and sisters, we are being told not to be alarmed, or another word for that is worry or be anxious.  That is very hard to do sometimes, it is hard.  We worry about lots of things and we are concerned about things for if we truly trust God He will indeed work it out for us.  Now hold on, it does not always get worked out according to our will, but He does work it out according to His will.  We pray that way, right?  In the Lord's Prayer.  "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."  Thy will be done, not our will, folks.  Just as Jesus prayed the night before He was put to death, as He prayed to His (ours also) Father in Heaven.  Thy will, not My will be done.  Now the last scripture for today.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble,  whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.  (NIV)

Why is Paul telling the Philippians to think about the things in these scriptures?  Why, and remember this filters down to us, would Paul be telling us to think about being true, noble, whatever is right, etc.?  I think it fits well if we are thinking about these things and praising God for them we will not h ave as much downtime to worry and be anxious about things.  In other words, when you are out and about, think good thoughts, think about Jesus because it does not get any better thinking than that.  Amen.

Friday 9/6/13 Moral Authority 3

Dear Father in Heaven:  Thank You for another beautiful day, and thanks for helping me to try and understand what is going on with my computers.  Please forgive me of my sins.  And Lord, please be with Dale, Patsy, Burt, Eleanor, Bob, and Sharon Saylor.  Heal also Bob Coburn. Touch our son Matthew, dear Lord, and be with our ministry team and all who support our missions and all who come to the food pantry for food.  Please help us to keep the ministries of Carry The Light going.  Lord, thanks  for always being with us.  Now, Lord, please help me with the message and then dispatch it for me.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  I must tell you that Martin Martin, Jr., is about to be arrested. Yes, back when Martin Martin, Sr., was a pup, he chewed the tab off the mattress that says we cannot remove that tag.  Well, guess what the pup did, yes, he chewed one of those tags up.

Okay, I made it up, folks.  However, the pup did eat a five dollar bill today, and that is a lot of money, so I gave him a tad of cod liver oil and put him in the pen.  What a mess.  Never did get my five spot back!  He could not pass it, it was counterfeit.  Okay, I need to get serious now and get to the message.  But first I must do some updating.  As you know, my computer was trashed.  It came in on a forward, I think.  Please, until I get this mess cleaned up, please do not forward me things off the internet.  Also, please do not forward things with a disclaimer on the bottom.  Things like if you send this to ten people and one back to the writer you will receive special blessings.  Sorry, folks, blessings come from God and He sends them all the time.  So, no disclaimers, please.  Thanks.  And one more, I have over ten pages of emails backed up, so please do not feel hurt if I did not get back to you on something.  I cannot get caught up.

Please, please pray for our nation, and please remember that this coming Wednesday is 9/11, so please be careful and pray for safety in our country.  Now to the message.

Friday, September 6, 2013, Moral Authority 3.

1 Peter 2:1 - Therefore rid yourselves of all malice, and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander, of every kind.  2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,  so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.  (NIV)

Staying along the subject of Moral Authority and it begins at home with each of us, we need to be really sure we rid ourselves, as Peter is showing us in the above scripture, of ALL malice and ALL deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.  Now you can see that I have put the word ALL in stand-out letters, for we might tend to not want to give it all up.  Let me look at a couple of those things.  Malice means of course to hurt someone, and please do not think that the only way to hurt or harm someone is by giving them a punch in the nose, in fact you can hurt more people by what you say, and trust me, it is going on daily on Facebook.  Now let's look at deceit, and while we might want to say that Satan is the master of deceit, and he surely is, we can be very deceitful people also.  Yes, how much deceit have you offered out today?  You know, when you get right down to it, living for Jesus and walking that straight line is really not ALL that easy, but we must do our very, very best to do as Peter talks about.  How about envy, do you envy others because they have more than you do?  No need to envy others, folks, just keep on living for Jesus and trusting in Him, and giving from the heart.  God will just take care of you.  Of course slander is about the same as malice.

Peter uses the example that we should be like newborn babies who crave pure spiritual milk.  A mother's milk is pure, be it a mother of our children or mothers of animals.  You see, once man gets his hands on the milk then it is not pure, think  nice here, I am talking about milking of animals by hand or machine, or a baby that has been turned over to formulas or even breast pumped milk.  "Best coming from the source."  That is what Peter is showing in the example, that we need to feast on The Lord and His Word which is pure, it is like that straight from the producer's milk, The Word of The Lord is the Truth.

I will be talking to the Lord over the weekend, I don't think we are done with this subject yet.

Go forth now, brothers and sisters, loving on each other, sharing your blessings and working on getting and keeping yourselves clean, and praying we do not get involved in another war.  Love ya.  Pass that love on.
