Monday 10/22/12 Happy Days

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for waking me this morning and granting me a restful night.  Thanks for watching over our families, our friends, and all those on this line.  It is true blessings that you give to us each day, may we rejoice in them and love You more and more.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  It is a beautiful early morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  Please keep Carry The Light Ministries team in your prayers as we push forward for several big events.  Praise report, we have a pledge of 25 turkeys toward our goal of 100 for our Christmas food distribution.  Also, God has been good to our checkbook also, as we have been receiving donations.  This will be a trying year as you have all watched food prices go up, but when you TRULY trust and have faith in God, we know it will all come together.  Please keep walking in faith.  Please pray for the family of "Lee" who passed away.

Please try and watch the debate tonight, and please pray and listen to God before you vote.

God has talked to me and has pointed out to me, Joy!  Sounds like fun, let's have some "Happy Days."

Happy Days!  10/22/2012.

Happy Days!!  We who are older will look back and see the joy we had in our youth (yes, I can remember that far back).  While it seemed to us to be a more joyful time than today, and back in those days we did not need to lock our doors, but if we did, it did not do much good as one key fit most doors back then.  And then there was the television program called "Happy Days" which by the way I still like to watch the reruns.  While I thought I was cool when I was growing up, I could not have been "The Fonz".  I could not hit things and make them work!  I could not have been Richie as he was a tad smarter than me.  Okay, more than a tad!  Maybe I could have been "Ralph", for was his name Ralph "Mouth"?  We watched each year as the little girl,  Joanie, grew up and even got married.  And while we did not have "Arnolds", we had "Barbeque Cottage" and the "Blue Pig" or was it the Pink Pig, I forget what the pigs place was.  It was a happy time, and that music, well, it is still good as far as I am concerned.  It indeed for the most part was music filled with joy.  I even liked country back then, and I guess I fit that description of being country before country was "cool."  But some country is not full of joy, but very sad.  You can always tell a country song, for it talks about beer, pickup trucks, and someone's mamma.

Let's look at scripture, for God does want us to have all of our days being Happy Days ... He wants us to be joyful and not running around always complaining about things.  Our scripture for today tells us to go "out in joy".  While we might take that in more than one way, let's put leaving this earth out of the picture today, even though if we know the Lord as our Savior we will go out in joy, let's talk about our daily living.  Each day we should get up, go to the bathroom and look in the mirror and try our very best to put on a smile.  This morning when I went to the mirror to "shave", I took a good look, put a smile on my face, and decided as I have for about 40 years, not to shave.  (Yes, I do have a tiny growth of hair on my face.)

The Bible in the same scripture also tell us that we should be led forth in peace.  Now if we are going to be led forth in peace, do you know who you need to be your leader?  If you said Jesus, you are right, for He and He alone can give you peace, real peace, and real joy.

The Bible also tell us "the mountains and hills will burst into song."  Do you remember this song sung by Julie Andrews in the movie "Sound of Music?"  "The hills are alive with the sound of music."

That was a really good movie, and yes, I remember the song.  The Bible also tells us the "trees of the field  will clap their hands."  Have you seen this?  If you say no, then you have never gone for a hike in the mountains when a breeze was blowing and the branches were slapping back and forth and the leaves were slapping each other as if clapping their hands.

God willing, this week we will keep the messages joyful.  I will talk a tad about praying and voting but will try and keep it joyful.

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive us of our sins and take us forth this day in a joyful way.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Now go forth, singing and making a "joyful" noise unto the Lord and sharing your blessings.

Love ya, Pastor Dan.
