Thursday 8/30/12 The Story 4

Luke 2:41 - Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.  42 When He was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.  43 After the Feast was over, while His parents were returning home, the Boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.  44 Thinking He was in their company, they traveled on for a day.  Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.  45 When they did not find Him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for Him.  46 After three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.  47 Everyone who heard Him was amazed at His understanding and His answers.  48 When His parents saw Him, they were astonished.  His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You treated us like this?  Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."  49 "Why were you searching for me?" He asked.  "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"  50 But they did not understand what He was saying.  (NIV)

Matthew 3:1 - In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the desert of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for another great night and a great and blessed day.  Thanks for all You do for all of us, thanks for the messages of the week.  Dear Father, please watch over our schools and all who enter them.  Lord, as school opens again for the year, bless the kids and all the employees, and protect those bus drivers, Lord, and please, I pray, You will be at our schools, I pray that parents teach their children to sit with others at lunch and pray, and let all concerned see them pray and hear them talking to You.  We pray they will set an example for others to follow, as Jesus set the example for us to follow.  In Jesus' name, I ask that our prayers are covered according to Your will.  Please place Your healing hand on Barbara Paulus, please heal Ronny Boyd, and also Dorothy Nagash.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Good Thursday, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes, the day we pray for our schools and all who go through the doors.  Please pray for Barbara Paulus who has an infection, for Ronny Boyd, who has Parkinson's disease, and Dorothy Nagash, gallbladder surgery.  Now for a praise report.  What a great day, I received a call last evening to go to a local food store and pick up leftover bread for a church that could not use it, and just yesterday we put a freezer back online after a defrost.  Yes, we freeze all of our bread as soon as we get it so nothing gets wasted.  Some of you will more than likely be leaving work early tomorrow, and/or not going at all.  Please be safe on the road.  Let me get right to the message, and I wil try and keep it short today.

The Story (Day four).  Yesterday when I closed I asked some questions.  "Did Jesus smart mouth His mother and earthly father?  Did Jesus really talk back to them?"  Well, let's look at that part of the scripture.

Luke 4:48 - When His parents saw Him, they were astonished.  His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You treated us like this?  Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."  49 "Why were you searching for me?" He asked.  "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"  50 But they did not understand what He was saying.

We see Mary and Joseph were looking for their Son Jesus, so let's deal with that first.  Today if we left an area without taking care of our children, to be sure they were with us, we would be in big trouble if, say, Children and Youth would find out.  But things were different back then, except for Jesus, of course, but this was when Jesus was just a child.  So did Mary and Joseph forget their child?  No, they thought He was with them, but after a day of not seeing Him, they got concerned, so they headed back to search for Him.  After three days, they located Jesus in the Temple.  Mary and Joseph were upset, and if you have children, you would know why.  If you had one go missing, and with a lad of twelve or younger, you would really go nuts. Even when they are older, if you don't hear from them, it is hard, trust me, we know!!

So anyway, Mary and Joseph were upset, and they should have been, and when they found Jesus, Mary said to Jesus, "Son, why have You treated us like this?"  Then Jesus said this.  "Why were you searching for me?"  "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"  My answer to this would be it would depend on the tone of voice that was used.  It could have been done in a soft caring voice or loud and harsh, you know what I am talking about.  A lot is how someone says something.  If Jesus' words were snappy, then He might have been talking back.  For me, I think He would have been kind and gentle, maybe pausing as He answered His mother, maybe even holding her hand.  You see, I think this was for a reason, and here it is.  Jesus is of course God, who created Heaven and Earth, and also gave the ten commandments, one of which is "Honor your father and mother."  So I feel that Jesus would set an example there, just as He did for us His entire life.  So what do you think?

Okay, I promised I would keep it short and I also promised that I would say a bit about what happened next ... So let me say a bit:  REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR ... and I will pick it up there tomorrow.

Go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wednesday 8/29/12 The Story 3

Matthew 2:13 - When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "Take the Child and His mother and escape to Egypt.  Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him."  14 So he got up, took the Child and His mother during the night and left for Egypt.  15 Where he stayed until the death of Herod.  (NIV)

Luke 2:39 - When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.  40 And the Child grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.  (NIV)

(NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for another great day, thanks for hearing our prayers and acting on them according to Your will.  Thanks, Lord, for Your healing hand on Lou's eye.  Thanks for restoring that sight.  Lord, we ask the same for Art, please, Lord, heal his eyesight.  Lord, it is healing day on this line, and we ask that You hear our requests and heal according to Your will for those needing the touch.  Praise and honor to You, Lord, for the safe trip for Tom Sansoni with those working Your fields of Harvest.  You are wonderful, Lord.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Good Evening, dear brothers and sisters.  Yes, it is Healing Wednesday, the day we pray for God to heal folks, regardless of their problem, be whatever it is.  A few weeks ago I prayed for two neighbors, two men, both having eye surgery on the same day.  Art and Lou both needed the surgery.  Lou told me today that his sight in the eye that was operated on is great, and he gets the other one done on the 10th of September.  Art in the meantime still has not had the complete touch of the Lord, so we keep praying and keep our faith that it will be healed.  You remember how Jesus touched the eyes of the man who was blind and the man said, I see men as trees walking, so when God touched his eyes again he could see.  I have faith that Art will receive that sight, please keep praying for him, and please sing the praises for the healing of Lou's eye and pray for his other eye.  Please keep praying for Joe who has cancer, and also a priest from Saint Katherine Drexel Catholic Church for healing from cancer, I forgot the priest's name, but will get it.  Please keep praying for Pastor Larry Hale, as he gets stronger after recent heart surgery.  Pray for Patsy, Burt, Barbara, and please add Nan Clugston to your prayer lists.  Please keep praying for Vicki, also for Ruby.  There are some more, and I will be posting more tomorrow evening.  Now for the message.

The Story (Day Three).  Maybe I should call today's part of the message The Great Escape.  Let's look at our scripture ...

Matthew 2:13 - When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.  "Get up," he said, "Take the Child and His mother and escape to Egypt."

When they had gone refers to the magi who brought the three gifts.  Now I am not going to run those numbers on you again today, I think I drove them yesterday.  But look, the angel of the Lord is back talking to Joseph in a dream.  "Get up and take the Child and escape."  Now as we go forth we find out that this dad, this man called Joseph, was a really good earthly father for Jesus, he really cares and he listened to the angel and we find in the scripture that Joseph got right up and he woke up Mary and they escaped in the dark.  This earthly father protected our Lord Jesus from being killed when He was a Child so that He could grow older and then be killed, this time for us.  That is why it is said, "He was born to die!"  So where did His parents take Him to hide out?  To Egypt, and the Bible tells us that they stayed there until Herod died.  After that they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.  So what happened next?  Well, we do not know a lot  about Jesus until He was twelve, but we do know this.  As He grew He got strong.  Look at this from the scriptures ...

Luke 1:40 - And the Child grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.

So what happened when He was twelve?  Well, He headed out with His parents to go to the Feast of The Passover held in Jerusalem and there we find out a few things about Jesus.  One, He went to the Temple and, well, hung out there, asking questions and giving answers.  The Bible tells us this.

Luke 2:47 - Everyone who heard Him was amazed at His understanding and His answers.

At twelve, He was blessed with understanding given the ability to ask questions.  Yes, I said Jesus was blessed and He was.  Now we also know something else happened.  His parents left Jerusalem without Him, and you will just really not believe what happened when after three days they found Jesus in the temple.  Yes, you are not going to believe it.  Let me ask you these questions for tomorrow.  Did Jesus smart mouth His mother and earthly father?  Did Jesus really talk back to them?  The answers might surprise you, but you need to wait until tomorrow to find out.  Tomorrow we will also move out  hearing from a man from the wild.  Do you know who that might be?

Now go forth and share those blessings.  Oh, I forgot to tell you, we did not get our new baby yet.  We were all ready for the kid, but it looks like it did not come to pass.  Yes, our dear mother goat is not in the motherly way again, or so we think now.  Now you know about our new "Kid".  I do need to just have a tad bit of fun once in awhile.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

P.S.  Did you hear about the man who was mowing the grass and by accident ran over his dog and cut off its tail?  He then picked up the dog, grabbed the cut off piece of tail, and headed to Wal-Mart.  Why in the world would he not go to an animal hospital?  Well, he just knew that the Wal-Mart was a re-tail store.
Bye-Bye.

Tuesday 8/28/12 The Story 2

Luke 2:21 - On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived.  22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to present Him to the Lord.  23 (As it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord.")  (NIV)

Matthew 2:7 - Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.  8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child.  As soon as you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him."  9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.  10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.  10 On coming to the HOUSE, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him.  Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for all You do for us, thanks for a job for Jim, and thanks for waking his family when his smoke detectors went off.  All praise and honor to You.  Thanks for answering our prayers, dear Lord.  Thanks for a new job for Helen, Lord, the blessings You give us are wonderful.  Lord, forgive us of our sins and clean us up, please.  Be with those on our lists, and please heal them according to Your will for us.  In Jesus' Name I pray.  Amen.

Hi, brothers and sisters.  I guess you have noticed I am writing again in the evening.  Early morning commitments have us up really early in the morning with lots of work to do.  This morning with the help of Grant and Wanda, we have our room made for our new baby that is coming for Dolores and me to take care of.  Another kid at our age.  (No, Dolores is not in the motherly way.)  More on that later.  Prayers today on Tuesday for our churches and pastors, and for the healing from cancers and all other diseases.  Please review our names on the prayer list from yesterday.

Breaking news ... breaking news ... In the background I have the Republican convention on the other computer, and the Oak Ridge Boys just gave a testimony to God and sang Amazing Grace ... PRAISE THE LORD ... Wow ... God is good ... Amen.

Now to the message:

The Story (Day Two).  Yesterday I asked a question.  One person answered correctly.  The question was how many kings were at the manger.  The answer was one, and that was our Lord, King Jesus.  Now I like to back up what I write with scripture, so with that said, I will quote this verse:

Matthew 2:10 - On coming to the HOUSE, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him.  (NIV)

Okay, we see they came to the house where the Child was, the house, not the stable or barn.  Jesus had been relocated before the magi or kings arrived.  Now I have another question.  How many kings, or magi, took gifts to our King Jesus?  Let me see, the song tells us "We three kings of Orient are bearing gifts we travel afar."  But wait a minute, wait a minute, that is what the song tells us, let's see what the Bible tells us ...

Matthew 2:10 - On coming to the HOUSE, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him.  Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.  (NIV)

Okay, do you see the answer, there were three gifts, of course, three gifts, but the Bible tells me this, it is more than one magi or king, because the Bible tells us that then THEY opened their treasures.  They means to me more than one, but it could be three, each with a gift, or it could be two bringing three gifts or even a group, bringing the gifts.  So now we know the truth, right from the Bible about how many kings, or magi, were at the manger, that was just one, King Jesus.  How many were at the house, well, at least three, yes, three, please remember what I said, there was more than one bringing gifts for the Bible says they, so that means at least two, and then there was King Jesus, meaning at least three.  Do I have you confused yet?  This is not a joke, brothers and sisters, it is the facts, backed by the Bible.

Brothers and sisters, do you go to church?  Do you take your Bible along, or at least write down the scriptures that the pastor talks about?  Be sure your pastor is preaching the truth from the Bible.  Some do not!  Be sure they back their messages with scripture.  Some use writings from others and that is good, but where did they get their information?  We must be sure we are telling and hearing the TRUTH, as it comes from the BIBLE.  Someone say AMEN!

Time to go, it is late, and I can tell you now, I will be writing in the evening on Wednesday, and remember please, it is now called Healing Wednesday.  Hey, share those blessings, please.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday 8/27/12 The Story

Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.  2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)  3 And everyone went to his own town to register.  4 So Joseph also went up from his town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.  5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him, and was expecting a child.  6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son.  She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks so much for a great weekend and thanks so much for a beautiful rain and now great sunshine.  Thanks for all the things You do for all of us.  Please honor our prayer requests this day according to Your will for us.  In Jesus' Name ... Amen.

Good Monday morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Today, being Monday, is the day we pray for all our leaders, and please pray also for the political convention these coming weeks, both of them.  Also pray for God to protect all involved at the conventions.  Please pray that when the election is over the one in the White House is who God wants there.  Pray today for our President and all other leaders, our veterans, our current military, our police (and please pray for the Carlisle, PA, chief of police), pray for firefighters and all others who keep you healthy and safe.  This morning Dolores and I were at the doctors, and I got to anoint my doctor with oil and pray for her, after which Dolores got an epidural block placed in her neck.  She never even felt the needle go in.  (God is good.)  Please keep praying for Joe who has cancer and Burt, Patsy, Barbara, Ruby, Dolores, and all others on our prayer lists from last week.  Let's get started on "The Story."

Why am I doing this seeming Christmas story now?  I have a vision to write a book about the real meaning of Christmas, as told by Santa, to the kids at Christmas.  So follow me now for a few days, or maybe even a week or two as we look at the Birth of Christ and then go forth from there ...

The Story (Day One).  This story really starts when an angel of the Lord appears to Mary, who was a virgin, and says this.  "Greetings, you are highly favored!  The Lord is with you."  Mary was told she was going to have a baby.  While Mary was troubled with this, because she was pledged to be married to Joseph, she wanted to know how this could happen since she was a virgin.  The angel Gabriel explained all of this to Mary.  So when old Caesar put out the call that a census would be taken, Joseph got out his donkey, placed Mary on its back and started the walk, and walk he did.  Joseph went up from the town of Nazareth to the town we have learned to call The Little Town of Bethlehem.  I would think that Joseph would be travelling with others, and maybe even meeting up with others along the way.  I would think that Joseph would have placed a blanket on the back of his donkey and of course Mary would need to be sitting sideways on the animal.  Now Mary was with child, and when they arrived at Bethlehem some things happened strange.  They went into the Inn (the Bethlehem Hilton was not built yet!) to register and Joseph was told that there was no room for them.  While they were in the inn, the donkey waited outside.  I wonder what was going on in the donkey's mind.  I think maybe that donkey thinking, wow, something went wrong for they are both coming back outside and coming toward me again.  And more than likely the donkey was right, for I would think that Joseph at that point either put Mary back on the donkey or they both walked together, leading the donkey and going to the stable at the Inn.  Now the Bible tells us that Mary delivered that Baby right there in the stable, or barn if you want to call it that, and the Baby was placed in a manger.  I would think that the manger was a feed trough and that Joseph made it with straw and/or hay and m ore than likely used the blanket from the donkey to cover the Baby.

Question for you for tomorrow ... After the Baby was born, who all was at the manger?  And according to the Bible, how many kings were at the manger to see the Baby?

Hey, time to run, it is late, and I am tired.  Early start tomorrow, we must get a place for a baby ready, for within a day or two, maybe a week, Dolores and I, even at our age, are going to be blessed with a brand new kid.  This is serious stuff ... More on that tomorrow ...

Remember to share your blessings, and remember that Jesus loves you, and I love ya also.  Pastor Dan.

Saturday 8/25/12 Healing 6

James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise. 14  Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Good  Saturday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  I want to get right to the scriptures today, right to the message.  Let's pray and get going.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for waking us another day, and thanks for all You do for us, and thanks this day for prayers answered already.  Please, Lord, forgive us of our sins, heal our weary bodies according to Your will for each of us, and please, Lord, help me wrap up this week's messages with this special edition that You laid on my heart.  I love You, Jesus, and I pray and give praise in Your name.  Amen.

Healing (Day Six).  Yes, I opened with the same scriptures again today, for they are great scriptures when talking about healing.  There are so many scriptures in the Bible about healing that with the help of Jesus I could really write for weeks and weeks about it.  But I do need to wrap it up and move forward for Jesus.

Yesterday I closed with a statement that went sort of like this.  This is not word for word, but I will state it again ... Why would an old man, an old pastor, who is crippled up from a motorcycle accident and getting more twisted and in pain, pray for people to be healed?  To go along with that, my wife Dolores is also crippled up and in a ton of pain daily, still she pushes forward working for the Lord.  Some days her fingers hardly move, but still God works them on the keys of the piano.  With those things said, why would anyone want to listen to me talk about healing or hear me preach on the subject?  Why would others just not say God must not heal, for He will not touch the preacher!  Or here is a couple that seems to be walking with God and do not get healed, and we are sitting here listening to him and we have questions about it.  I want today to address those questions ...

First of all and above all else, I am just an old sinner saved by grace, and Dolores is the same, except let me drop out the old part.  And yes, we do our very best to walk with God, but like others, we slip and fall once in awhile and must get up, dust off the sin, and ask to be forgiven again.  Please notice when I pray each day I do no pray for God to forgive your sins, I pray for God to forgive my sins or our sins.  Again, I am indeed a sinner as is everybody else, some worse than others, of course.  Please remember we must love the sinner and hate the sin.  God loves us all, so God indeed loves the sinner, but He hates sin and I pointed that out a week or so ago in another message.  But I want you to hear this scripture and then we will talk about it just for a minute.

This comes out of Hebrews chapter 12 and I wish you would please take time to read all of this today.

Hebrews 12:1 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  3 Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.  5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:  "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, 6 Because the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes everyone He accepts as a son."  7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons.  For what son is not disciplined by his father?  8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.  9 More over, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it.  How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!  10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness.  11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.  Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.  13 Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.  (NIV)

And yes, right here and now, I must enter this scripture one more time.  You know what it is.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

So what is this scripture telling me?  Yes, my earthly father, and please notice the small "f" in father - and I pray I got them all correct in writing out the scripture - my earthly father did discipline me from time to time.  (Believe it or not, there were times when I was a down and out brat.)  My daddy never beat on me, but I did know what a belt or a razor strap felt like across a bare butt.  I am happy that he did not make me go sit in a corner after that, for I was not in the sitting mood if you get my point.  I also knew what it was like to go to bed without supper, even though we had food in the house to eat.  If I turned my nose up at what my mamma would cook, I went to bed without supper.  In my day I also ate a lot of soap for swearing, lying, and I could go on.  There for awhile I thought lye soap was really lie soap.  My mamma also was quick with the handle of the knife on the hands if you were acting up at the table.  When I look back now, I find out that when I really started to appreciate my parents was after my mamma died.  I also learned to behave after I was sixteen, for never once did they have a need to take away my car.  (I should have gotten the car when I was two.)

So now as I am 71, and yes, I have some bumps and pain, and yes, I pray for God to h eal them as I pray for Dolores to be healed, but this scripture tells me that if Jesus did not love me, He would not discipline me. And I feel that this, my pain, is indeed the discipline that the Bible is talking about.  When I look back I would hate to think how I would have turned out, if my daddy and mamma would not have been strict parents.  Who knows what might have happened.  And folks, over the years I have made many, many mistakes and have sinned many, many times.  God has forgiven all that, and brothers and sisters, that for one is the very best HEALING A PERSON CAN GET - Being healed of our sins.
Also, I need to point out that I am healed from cancer, God took that away, and I have never really been that sick to where I missed work.  Before the motorcycle accident, I never missed a day's work for being sick, my wife tells me that there were days I should have stayed home, but God was good, and I went to work.  I confess that over the years I would wonder why God did not heal a pastor or a person working for the Lord, and even before when I would write about healing, God never pointed this scripture out to me.

God is so faithful, and brothers and sisters, the more you read His word, the more He opens it to you.  Some of you know that I am not a good reader, and in fact, I have never read a complete book, yet God opens His word to me.  And each time I read a scripture, He opens that scripture even more.  It is so exciting.  I am so happy that I walk with God, and He has taken me as His son and disciplined me.  I would much sooner walk around in pain for Jesus than be walking around in no pain and not knowing where I was heading after my life here on earth is done.

In closing I need to make this statement.  God is good, and if He disciplined me according to my sins, like  my dear old dad disciplined me, I would not be able to sit for the rest of my life and would need to be laid on my side in the casket.  However, God, in His great mercy, looked ahead in time when He was on the cross and saw me standing there, first before I was in the womb, then in the womb, then as a child, then as a youth, then a young man, then middle-aged, and now aging, and saw that I was just a sinner indeed in need of the blood He was shedding then, and He poured out enough to cover me even to this day ... AND I AM CLEAN, I AM FREE, I AM ALIVE, AND I AM HEALED OF SIN.  And brothers and sisters, in His time, I know He will heal me of my pain.  I just know it.  So I will wait upon the Lord and pray for others to be healed, and I know God still heals and He will heal YOU, SO KEEP YOUR FAITH.  For it is by His stripes we are healed, and He took one heck of a beating for us.  I must go, I am welling up in my eyes.

RISE AND BE HEALED IN THE NAME OF JESUS ... for

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Someone please shout out with me ... THANK YOU, JESUS!  AMEN!

Now go forth and share your blessings.  Love ya, Pastor Dan

And yes, you are welcome at The Bridges this Sunday when I preach this message.

Friday 8/24/12 Healing 5

Note:  Please look for a message on Saturday:  I need an extra day to complete this series.  Thanks.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks again for another day, thanks for forgiving us of our sins and thanks for Your healing hand upon us.  Father, on this our Salvation Friday, as we call it on this line, we pray for all of the unsaved that they might come to You to be saved, that they might enjoy Your healing hand, healing them of their sins.  And Lord, we pray for all those who are saved and all those who are working for You.  Included in this group is our dear friend Tom Sansoni who even though he lost his job and needs one, and we trust You will help him find one, in the meantime goes to work for You.  Please bless him and those he is traveling with, along with all others who are working the fields of Harvest for You.  Hear our prayers for Joe, who has cancer, and Lord, this man has sort of given up.  Lord, help me and /or others to reach him for You.  And Lord, please help me with this one, I am trying and really, really need Your help.  Lord, thanks for helping Grant and that he is feeling better, and thanks for bringing peace to Pam as she was in the jury box this past week.  In Jesus' name I give praise and pray.  Amen.

Good Salvation Friday, my dear brothers and sisters.  Yes, Salvation Friday and that seems strange after saying Salvation Wednesday for so many years.  But Salvation Friday, and the day we pray for the unsaved and for those who are saved to work the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus.  Please also read the prayer request in from my friend Tom, who might have lost his job for man, but never stops working for the Lord. His complete request will be posted after my closing.  Also, please wrap me in your prayers as I work with a man who has cancer, and it is said to be bad.  He is refusing treatment, and I need to reach him for the Lord.  I have only posted his first name, but this man thinks God keeps us on strings and plays with people as a person would work a puppet.  I need your prayers, folks, this is for real, I need to reach him for Jesus.  Pray for God to heal his cancer also.

Healing (Day Five).

(NIV)

Hebrews 13: 8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Please do not be upset because I have repeated some of the scriptures.  They are very important as are all the scriptures in the Bible.  Today I want to bring out some more scriptures where our Lord has healed people and what those scriptures say about it.  Let's get moving.  Have you ever seen someone who you thought was "demon possessed?"  I have!  Do you know that Jesus can drive the demons out of people?  Yes, still done today, yet when you find a church that will pray for this, some think the church, pastor, and flock are all crazy, yet I have talked to some who said they saw the demons come out of the people, and I believe them.  Please read about this in Mark 5:1-20.  I am not typing it out for you.  Going on.

Luke 4:33 - In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit.  He cried out at the top of his voice, 34 "Ha!  What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth?  Have you come to destroy us?  I know who you are, the Holy One of God!"  35 "Be quiet!" Jesus said sternly.  "Come out of him!"  Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.  (NIV)

Luke 5:12 - While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.  When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."  13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.  "I am willing," He said.  "Be clean!" and immediately the leprosy left him.  (NIV)

Okay, let's look at some key words in this last scripture.  "Lord, if you are willing."  This man, covered with leprosy, was asking our Lord Jesus as we should always ask.  If it is Your will, Lord, will you please heal me.  Let's move on.

Luke 8:42 - As Jesus was on His way, the crowds almost crushed Him.  43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.  44 She came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak and immediately her bleeding stopped.  45 "Who touched me?" Jesus asked.  When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.  46 But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.  47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at His feet.  In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched Him and how she had been instantly healed.  48 Then He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you.  Go in peace."  (NIV)

Okay, let's look at the key area in this scripture.  Do you see it?  Let me give you a hint.  Let's look back.

James 5:15 - And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well:  (NIV)

Now look at the verse we were working on.

Luke 8:48 - Then He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you.  Go in peace."  (NIV)

Do you see in this scripture, your faith has healed you?  And once again it is time to remind you, just in case you forgot ...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

John 9:6 - Having said this, He spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes.  7 "Go," He told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam."  (This word means Sent.)  So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.  (NIV)

Now you should read John 9 to get the most out of this scripture, but to bring the point home, Jesus just healed a blind man's eyes.  Right now, can we just pause and pray for a dear friend of ours?  His name is Art and he is having eye trouble.  Dear Father in Heaven, as You have done over and over again, please touch the eyes of Art and heal them so he might see as new.  In Jesus' name I make this request.  Amen.

Now do you ever think about those TV preachers that you see healing others in the name of Jesus?  And yes, I asked Jesus over and over again to also give me that gift of healing, in the name of Jesus, and yes, I would give Jesus all the honor and glory.  That is why I pray for healing and have faith it still happens.  But just in case you think the power has not been given to others and you question that some have the gift ...

Listen to this scripture and it is about Philip in Samaria ...

Acts 8:6 - When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said.  7 With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed.  (NIV)

Okay, I must wrap this day up.  Now why, why in the world, would an old pastor like me, crippled up from a motorcycle accident, a really messed up back, hurting from a messed up knee, and crippled up; and a wife who is bent over from a twisted spine and who has had knees replaced, not be healed when they work hard for God?  I am sure a lot of folks think about that.  Here is a man praying for God to heal me, and God has not touched him.  Well, that is wrong for God has touched me and I have been healed of cancer, but what about the rest?  That is what I am going to write about tomorrow.  Why some get healed but some do not.  It is God's will but there is more to it than that.  You do not want to miss the special Saturday edition.

And yes, you are welcome at the Bridges on Sunday.  Prayers and faith, my brothers and sisters.  Prayers and faith.  Will it be your day to be healed?

Now go forth and share your blessings ... Love ya, Pastor Dan.  Now the request from Tom ...

Thursday 8/23/12 Healing 4

James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

Isaiah 53:3 - He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.  Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.  4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him and afflicted.  5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.  (NIV)

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive us of our sins, and know that we appreciate that you woke us up to see another day.  Help us to enjoy this day even more by spending it with You and doing service with You.  Hear our prayers for the sick and heal them according to Your will, and Lord, thanks for helping me with the messages of this week. You are indeed the great healer and I love You.  Thanks for healing the cancer that was in my body, and know that I appreciate that.  Please, dear Lord, be in our schools, in our school families, and in our families, protect our neighbors and bring peace in this world.  Lord, it seems each and every day someone is shot in our area, it seems more are killed on our streets than in the war areas.  Lord, please bring peace, and please, please, put Your healing hand on those who are aborting life, and change their hearts.  Lord, your children are being murdered before they get out of their mothers' wombs.  Help us, dear Lord, please help us.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Good Thursday morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Thursday and the day we pray for schools, and for those who work there and those who study there, and also pray for families, and folks, our families need prayers.  Pray also for abortion to be stopped.  Brothers and sisters, abortion is murder, it needs to be stopped.  Day after day we pray and ask God to heal us and to protect our country, we say God Bless America and we do not even say please, God, Bless America, and while we are asking God to Bless America, we are killing off future citizens.  It just has to stop.  COME ON BACK, JESUS.  Let me get to the message for today.

Healing (Day Four).  Please notice that I am repeating some of the scriptures.  I am doing that because they are very basic to God's healing us.  Again, I am pointing out to You that Jesus Christ is still the same today as He was when He walked this earth, and still the same as when He made this earth.

I want to bring out again it is by our faith in Jesus we are saved and also we are healed.  I love this verse ...

Isaiah 53:5 - But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities and by HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED.  (NIV)

I want you to really think about what Jesus went through for us.  From Psalm 22:16 - Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.  (NIV)

And one more ...

John 19:34 - Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.  (NIV)

These are just a few verses on what Jesus went through to save us from our sins and to heal us.  He was pierced for our transgressions.  THANK YOU, JESUS ... I LOVE YOU, JESUS ... AMEN.

Matthew 4:23 - Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and HEALING every disease and sickness among the people.  24 News about him spread all over Syria and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and HE HEALED THEM.  (NIV)

And with that scripture, I must bring this one out one more time ... Ready ...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (NIV)

So Jesus is still in the healing business, we just need to trust in Him and have faith in Him.  Listen to this.

Matthew 8:14 - When Jesus came into Peter's house, He saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.  15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on Him.  (NIV)

And with that I must bring this one out one more time ... You know what it is, but after reading it, please look at my questions ...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Did you notice in Matthew 8:15 as soon as Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law, she got up and started to wait on Him?  Now, if you are praying to be healed, and Jesus heals you, ARE YOU GOING TO GET UP AND SERVE HIM?  Are you even going to thank Him?  I know we post many, many people for prayer, and once in awhile, ONCE IN AWHILE, I get a praise report back in that someone is well.  Brothers and sisters, I need to be posting more and more praise reports, for I know Jesus is healing people.  FOLKS, RISE AND BE HEALED IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND GIVE THANKS FOR IT ... Tomorrow, more on Healing ... And brothers and sisters, I will be preaching on this on Sunday morning and yes, you are welcome to come and get anointed with oil.  JESUS STILL HEALS ... I know this because I have faith, and the Bible tells me so.

Now go forth and serve our Lord and share your blessings you have received from Him.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wednesday 8/22/12 Healing 3

James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, please forgive us of our sins, and please start us fresh this morning, helping us to repent.  Please hear our prayers for healing and hear our cries for pain to be stopped.  Help us each day to walk with Jesus, and please, please, Lord, help me with this line.  I love You, Jesus, and I pray in Your name.  Amen.

Good Healing Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Yes, I have been looking for a major prayer theme for Wednesdays since I moved Salvation day to Friday.  This morning as I was writing the Healing on the subject line, Jesus spoke to my heart and said, what about "Healing Wednesdays"?  We have prayer requests that come in daily, some folks do not want them posted, others request we just pray and others we post.  Starting today and until God tells me different, we will keep that going but center our prayers on healing on Wednesdays. So the line-up is ... Monday, for our leaders, veterans, military, police, firefighters, etc.  Tuesday, churches and Sunday Schools and those who make that happen.  Wednesday, Healing.  Thursday, schools and families.  And of course Friday, Salvation and prayers for all who work in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus, as commanded.  Let's get started with the message ... Yes, some scriptures are repeated, but the message is different but still on healing ...

Healing (Day Three).

(NIV)

Psalm 6:1 - O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger, or discipline me in Your wrath.  2 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am faint:  O Lord, heal me, for my bones are in agony.  3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O Lord, how long?  4 Turn, O Lord, and deliver me; save me because of Your unfailing love.  (NIV)

Psalm 41:4 - "O Lord, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against You."  (NIV)

Jeremiah 17:14 - Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed, save me and I will be saved for You are the one I praise.  (NIV)

I could write about healing for months and months as there is that much in the Bible about it.  The biggest thing I want to bring out this week is that YOU CAN BE HEALED, and God really wants to heal you.  Please remember it takes prayers and also faith in God that He will heal you.  If you are sitting on the edge of the bed or in your chair asking God to heal you and you are saying or thinking to yourself, He is not going to heal me, how much faith is that?  Again today I want to bring a few things out of James.

James 5:14 - Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  (NIV)

99.9% of the time I have a bottle of anointing oil in my pocket.  I have anointed people at our services at the Bridges.  I have anointed and prayed for people for healing in parking lots, in the hospital, in churches, and even in the food store, and yes, many times in our food pantry.  WHY?  I believe that God heals, and I am an elder of the church, and I am a Christian and one of the disciples of Jesus.  Oh, and folks, Jesus wants you to be His disciple also, for who do you think He is sending out to the fields of Harvest?  Yes, you.  Anyway, if I did not believe in the healing power of Jesus, why would I do all this praying, anointing, and writing on it?  I believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ.  Look at the scriptures above, just those two verses.  Are you sick, get prayed over, folks, and anointed with oil and have faith you will be healed.  And yes,I believe that God will also heal me in His time.  He really will, and I will jump for joy when He does. He already has healed me of cancer.  He has taken away flu and blocked many things from attacking me and the biggie is that He has healed me from my sins.  AMEN.  THANK YOU, JESUS!

Again, we know from the Bible, from the Old Testament, that God heals, and from the New Testament, that Jesus (who is God) heals and we know by this scripture that He still is in the healing business.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

Now let's look at what Jesus might have healed on You.  Go into your bathroom and look in the mirror and ask yourself this question.  How many times have I been healed in my life?  And then tell me this, which is the best healing, the healing of your body or the healing of your soul so you can get into heaven?  My answer, of course, JESUS SAVED ME FROM MY SINS, FOR MY ROTTEN SELF.  Someone else feel like me?

Listen to this scripture and tell me, does this fit you, should you be praying this today?

Psalm 41:4 - "O Lord, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against You."  (NIV)

And then after you have been forgiven, then pray this one ...

(NIV)

Let me just wrap it up today with that last line ... O Lord, deliver me; save me because of Your unfailing love.  YOUR UNFAILING LOVE FOR ME ... Thank you, Jesus.  Now go forth and share your blessings and keep on praying and having faith and walking with Jesus.  He wants you to be healed.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday 8/21/12 Healing 2

James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven:  Once again we call on You to heal us from our sins.  In faith we ask that You wash us white as snow with the blood of Jesus.  We are aware that we also need to repent and we confess that we really, really need Your help in doing that.  In the name of Jesus, help us to repent, turn and walk away from evil, not just in our doing but in our thinking also.  And Lord, if You would please consider healing our tired minds and bodies we would also appreciate that.  Lord, so many with cancer and memory problems and kidney problems.  Hear our prayers for Joe, Luella, Joan, Sterling, Stanley, Stan, also for Vicki, Burt, Patsy, Barbara, and for Grant and Curtis.  Touch them and the others who I am missing, I am sure.  Be with Joanne Zimmerman and touch her, Lord.  And bless also Josh as he opens another place to help others.  And Lord, schools are about to open, please be with the kids returning to school and make them into students.  Touch teachers and help them, and be with all other employees and please, please watch over the bus drivers.  And Lord, for our dear friend Ean Garman, please watch over him and help him in his daily walk.  Thanks, Lord, for the good news from our son Matthew, and thanks for getting Dolores and me home yesterday.  You are wonderful, Lord, and I love you.  In the name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Wow, another beauty of a day and another day I woke up on the green side of the grass.  Folks, today, please take a look at your day.  I want you to look over all that is right in your life and then tell me if there is not more right than wrong.  In other words, count those blessings.  Look for the good in your life and STOP DWELLING ON THE BAD!!  Start looking up and talking to God, and stop complaining all the time.  Yes, if the shoe fits, put it on, for today I am telling you like it is.  There are a lot of people out there hurting, really hurting and need help.  Get up and get moving out for Jesus.  Folks, if you have a computer and a TV and a cell phone, you are much better of than a lot of people in this world.  Folks, dig in and smile about it. Remember, if you think you are at the bottom or you are at the bottom, the only way to go is UP.  So look up to Jesus, and expect to get help.  Jesus will help you if you just have faith and help yourself some.  Let's get to the message, folks ...

Healing (Day Two).  2 Kings 20:4 - Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him.  5 "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says:  I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.  On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.  6 I will add fifteen years to your life.  And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria.  I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.'"

(NIV)

Yes, brothers and sisters, God still heals.  Here is scripture from the Old and New Testaments that show that, and yes, it is still good today.  And yes, I am going to use this scripture again today.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  (NIV)

I want to bring out this verse:

2 Kings 20:5 - "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says:  I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.'" (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, listen to these words again ... "I have heard your prayers and seen your tears; I will heal you."  This is telling me that God does indeed hear our prayers and even sees our tears, and I am sure if you are like me, you have cried often when you are talking to our Lord Jesus.  Yes, folks, I have cried a lot to our Lord over the years, and I have cried other times also.  Yes, I am a man and real men are not afraid to wear pink shirts and also cry.  In fact, many times when I am writing the message of the day I have done it through tears, sometimes tears of just crying out for the Lord to hear prayers and other times tears of joy.

So brothers and sisters, please do not be afraid to let the tears flow, and please, please talk to God often, and please remember to listen for His answers.  Let me point out again this quote from God ... "I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you."  Folks, He could be talking to you right now.

You have great pain, you have cancer, whatever you have, even your burdens ... Turn them over to God now.

Let's now just look at one more verse today.

James 5:15 - And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  (NIV)

Okay, let me write it again, and just change the shape of one word ... 15 And the prayer offered in FAITH will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Brothers and sisters, you see the key word here is faith ... The prayer offered up in Faith ... If you do not have faith that your prayers will be answered, then let me ask you this ... Why are you praying?  God hears our prayers, sees our tears, and will answer our prayers if we indeed pray in faith.  And the word of God tells us that we will be healed, and our sins forgiven.  PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD ...

So as I wrap it up for today saying these words to you ... Please pray and know God hears you and He sees your tears, and yes, He sees all you do (that should scare you a tad), but He will forgive you and heal you, He really will.

Now go forth and share those blessings, and yes, done in faith He will replace those blessings with even more blessings.  You cannot out-give Jesus ... AMEN.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday 8/20/12 Healing

James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  He should pray.  Is anyone happy?  Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.  15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.  If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.  16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  It is indeed a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, it is overcast and cool.  Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington, DC, and in our State Houses (each of you pray for your own state, please).  Also for our local leaders and our school leaders.  Mondays we also pray for our veterans and our current military, and please,  folks, remember, this line would not be up and running if it were not for God and also our veterans and our current military.  Also please pray for our police and firefighters and all those who work hard to keep us healthy and safe.  Let's pray!

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for a great weekend and for a great day.  Thanks for waking us to serve You and we pray today that You will clean us and that we will repent and serve You in all that we do.  Lord, please take care of our veterans and heal their wounds, both mental and physical.  Guide and protect our current military, and Lord, look after our police and firefighters and all others on our prayer lists.  And Lord, there were many of our troops killed just week, and we ask you comfort their families and also the family of the police officer from Philadelphia who was murdered.  Please be with them.  Heal others according to Your will and Lord, please help me now with the messages about healing.  In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Healing (Day One).  I have been praying to our Heavenly Father about writing about healing and then teaching and preaching on the subject on Sunday.  One of the very first scriptures that I am going to use today is one that I use so often ...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  (NIV)

I think it is very important for all of us to know that the things Jesus did, did not just happen back when Jesus walked this earth, but since Jesus is the same today He still works the same, and yes, He will be the same tomorrow.  This to me means that when we talk about healing and look in scriptures of how Jesus healed people back when He did walk the earth, we know that we have that same benefit from Jesus today and will tomorrow.  We will talk about some of His healings from the Bible and we will talk about some people who have been healed in our present times.  Brothers and sisters, if you have had the HEALING HAND OF JESUS heal you, please share that with me so I may let others know.  One example is myself, of course, for I had cancer and now it is gone.  May I just pause and say this ... PRAISE THE LORD!  Okay, I did not want that to get stuck in me, it might have hurt.  This week we are going to look at many scriptures, and I am not sure which ones as of yet, as Jesus did not give them to me as of yet.  As you folks know by now, I depend fully on Jesus to provide the messages to me, the subject, and even the thinking.  My dear friend Tom Sansoni said it is truly a gift and indeed it is a gift from our Lord God.  Why He picked me, I do not know, but I am going to do my best to write for Him each day He gives me a message, and He has been faithful.  Hold on a minute, there is another one stuck in me ... PRAISE THE LORD!  Okay, I am ready to go.  Let's take a look at the scripture again.

16 Therefore confess your sins toe each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.  (NIV)

When I look over this scripture there are several things that jump right out at me.  Let's look at some of them today and then again tomorrow we will hunt some more just out of these few verses.  Verse 13 - Is any one of you in trouble?  Wow, is there any one of us not in trouble?  So we pray and what is prayer?  It is just taking time to talk to God.  God listens to us all the time, I don't care where or when we pray or where we are praying from, we have His ear.  We can be in the kitchen cooking, we can be sitting on the edge of the bed, we can be driving down the road (I have seen some of you drive, you should be praying a lot about that!)  Why, we could even be sitting on the potty.  I mean, you read the newspaper there, right?  I wonder how many people read their Bible in the bathroom, or even a daily devotional.  Yes, God hears us when we pray.  Three things about that.  First, and think about this, He is listening to you all the time, not just when you are praying, He even hears our thinking!  Oops!  You did know that, right?  Okay, when we pray, another thing we need to do is take time to listen.  When you ask God a question, please give Him time to answer and be still and listen.  It might take awhile, but He will answer your prayer, and please remember that we want Him to answer our prayers according to His will, for it is always better than our will.  Then the next thing is, do we act on what He tells us or do we just blow it off?  If we are going to just blow it off or not listen and act on His answer, may I ask why you prayed in the first place?

Is anyone Happy?  Yes, and I am telling you, it is easy to smile and be happy, even when things are not going the best, you can be happy.  Please try this one, first, of course, we should be praising the Lord and singing songs of praise.  But listen to this one from me this morning.  Instead of dwelling on what is wrong, please take time to think about all the things you have that are going well.  I am 100% sure that in the case of most every TRUE believer you have more things going right than wrong.  THINK ABOUT IT!

Now this is a good place to stop for today and since I am happy, I just want to do what this scripture tells us to do ... So do this with me.

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.  This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.  This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.  (One more time, please.)

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.  This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.  This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.  (Again.)

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.  This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.  This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.

Now go forth singing and praising God and sharing your blessings.  Put the song on your lips and heart and sing it all day.  It will help make you happy.  Give the burdens to the Lord.  Please remember, if the Lord has healed you, let me hear about it.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.  Now hit it again.

This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice, we will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.  This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.  This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made.  AMEN

Friday 8/17/12 Helping Others 4

2 Thessalonians 3:10 - For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule:  "If a man will not work, he shall not not eat."  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, again this day we start with prayers, thanking You and giving You honor and glory for another night's rest and another day to work for You.  Please, please forgive us of our sins and start us off fresh today.  Help us if we start to stray, help us to repent and to work daily for You.  In Jesus' Name, I pray.  Amen.

Good  SALVATION Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  I am truly sorry about no message yesterday, but praise the Lord, about the time I was ready to start the message, we received a call to go and see our son Matthew.  We did, we picked him up and talked with him awhile and then took him to the mission in Harrisburg.  Matthew is as far down as we have seen him, and he needs to get back walking with the Lord.  We just heard from him this morning and he told us he has been to church services twice already.

Today is now the day we pray about salvation, changing it from Wednesdays.  Why do this?  Well, with Fridays being the day we pray for the workers in the fields of harvest for Jesus, He, Jesus, was telling me it would be a good way to send out the workers.  Of course we can keep praying for salvation each day.  Also on the prayer list today, Tom Sansoni who was told his work was finished on Tuesday.  Tom is a good man and works in the waste water management field.  Also pray for Stan Rockey as he has severe heart problems, he needs bypass surgery, but his heart is too bad for them to chance the surgery.  In other words, he is fully in the hands of God.  Prayers for healing from cancer for Tanya, Joe, Allison, and many others, plus prayers still for Ruby, Burt, Patsy, Barbara, Luella, and also Dolores.  Prayers also for those working the fields of harvest for Jesus.  Let's get to the message ...

Helping Others (Day Four).  I asked the question the other day how long should we be working for the Lord, and I said forever, for we should never stop working for Him.  Also the Bible tells us that if we do not work we should not eat.  Now let me tell you that we are also to take care of the poor and needy.  We are to feed the hungry and clothe the naked.  And brothers and sisters, there are people who are poor and needy that need help, and they also need to work to help others.  I know of very few people who can DO NOTHING.  Yet there are people out there that really do nothing, and for those able-bodied people who do nothing, the Lord has led me to the scripture of today.  If you are not willing to work, you should not eat.

Working for Jesus should be a labor of love, after all, He gave His life for us, for each of us.  He asks nothing of us other than our love in return, and yes, for us to work for Him.  Yes, our working for Him is just an outward showing of our faith.  The Bible tells us that "Faith without works is dead."

Ephesians 2:8 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  9 Not by works, so that no one can boast.  10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  (NIV)

So with this scripture we see that we cannot work our way into heaven, but it is through our faith in Jesus we are saved.  So then what about this, "Faith without works is dead" I am talking about?  Hang in there with me, folks, I am getting to that.

James 2:14 - What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?  Can such faith save him?  15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?  17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.  (NIV)

And there you have it, my dear brothers and sisters!  So it is by faith Jesus Christ and our faith in Him we are saved.  But brothers and sisters, we must, and I say it again, we must work for Him.  So therefore, the lesson, we should never stop helping others, for helping others is working for Jesus.  AMEN!!

By the way, it is also from this scripture in James 2:15 - Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.  16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?"  (NIV) that Carry The Light Ministry partner Pamela Bower came up with the statement I quote so often ... "Put feet on your prayers" ... So today as we end this subject of helping others, and we pray for all those going into the fields of Harvest, put some "feet on your prayers" and do not just pray for people, but when you can, reach out and help, do it ... Here in scripture are our orders from our Lord Jesus ...

Matthew 9:37 - Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field."  (NIV)

Matthew 28:18 - Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  20 And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, clean us up now to do Your work and send us out, let us walk by faith, helping others and working for You, and let us please do this to honor and glorify You.  Lord, please honor our prayer requests according to Your will.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings, walking with Jesus and telling the good news of a Salvation through Jesus, and please remember WE ALL CAN WORK FOR JESUS!!  Amen.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wed. 8/15/12 Helping Others 3

Ephesians 2:4 - But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.  It is by grace you have been saved.  6 And raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.  7 In order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.  8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.  10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  (NIV)

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive us of our sins and help us to repent of our sins.  Walk with us this day and help us to walk with You.  Lord, as You set examples of how we should live, help us learn by those examples and live that life to the fullest while showing others that same good news You have pointed out to us.  In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

Good Wednesday evening, my dear brothers and sisters.  It is Wednesday, and please keep praying for all those on our prayer lists.  We have located Matthew, thanks for your prayers.  Matthew still needs lots and lots of prayers.  Our food pantry was blessed today as we received a pickup truck load of frozen dinners from a food pantry that had some to share.  GOD IS GOOD.  While we used to call this day Salvation Wednesday, we have now moved our Salvation prayer day to Friday and will be putting that together with those who are working the fields of harvest for Jesus.  So we have Wednesday open for a group type of prayer.  Suggestions are welcomed.  Let me move on to the message.  This week our topic is Helping Others.

Helping Others (Day Three).  We have looked over the parable of the Good Samaritan on Monday and Tuesday.  Yesterday I left you with this question ... "When do you retire from working for Jesus?"  I had one person tell me the correct answer.  She said when we die.  Yes, when we leave this earth, until then there is no reason to retire from working for God, nor can I find any place in the Bible that even hints of that.

Today and tomorrow I want to talk to you about why we work for God and why we cannot work our way into heaven.  And also what should happen to all those people who refuse to work.

First, let's look at why we should work for Jesus.  He commanded us to do just that ... Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."  (NIV)

So we follow that command and we work for Jesus telling the good news to all we see.  Will that get us into heaven?  NO, NO, NO.  We cannot work our way into heaven, it is a gift from God.  Remember the lessons from last week, how Jesus died for us because of His great love for us.

Ephesians 2:8 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

You see here in Ephesians again we are told, this is a free gift, which comes from God, and it is by grace and our faith in God we are saved ... Not by works, MEANING we cannot work our way into heaven.  HOWEVER, could not working for God keep us out?  That Question is for tomorrow.

I am not judging others here, but I have seen many a person who has worked hard around their church, some cooking and setting up for all those dinners and fund raisers ... Yes, when I have talked to some of them and asked them if they were "Born Again" they looked at me like I was nuts.  (No smart remarks here.)

Brothers and sisters, we have a "faith based" religion.  We believe in Jesus because we have faith in Him, and if we are saved, we can feel Him in our hearts.  That does not mean each day goes perfectly, but it does mean some sweet day they will.  So when we work for Jesus helping others and telling the good, good news of Jesus and salvation through Him, is working for Jesus.  We need to feel Jesus in our hearts so that we can share that love.  I am sure over the years when you were in school, you can remember those good teachers, and those who, well, put you to sleep.  Those who had a passion for teaching and what their subject was, and those who were working for a paycheck. Folks, when working for Jesus, we need to have that passion of His love in our hearts so when we go out to tell the good news to others, those people can look into our faces and see Jesus.  A dear friend of mine, Doug Boyer, always had a great answer when you would greet him and ask him how he was.  It would go like this ... Hi Doug, how are you?  And Doug would answer, "Never better."  Over the years I have learned to answer that way also, for I do not just like that saying and love how Doug always carried himself (he walks in the light of Jesus), I like it because when I say I am never better, it lifts me, it gives me a boost and regardless of how much I might hurt, I still can't get past the fact of how much it must have hurt to have nails run into your hands and feet.  And how it must still hurt these days when we keep driving more nails into Jesus as we sin.  So folks, we need to work for Jesus, never retire from working for Jesus.  He will, however, once in awhile change our assignment, which is why we need to pray and talk to Him daily.  Also when we are upbeat it helps us go through the day, and tell me, if you are going out telling Jesus who do you think others want to listen to, a grump, someone always complaining about themselves, or someone upbeat and full of life and fun?

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for letting us hear from Matthew.  Please, Lord, we ask that You look over our prayer lists and honor them according to Your will for us.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth, and come on, put on your Jesus smile, walk and talk with Him, and act like He died for you, because He did, and please share those blessings He has given to You.  Honest, He will replace them.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday 8/14/12 Helping Others 2

Luke 10:29 - But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"  30 In reply, Jesus said:  A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers.  They stripped  him of clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.  31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.  32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.  33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.  34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.  Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of  him.  35 The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper.  'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'  36 Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?"  (NIV)

Good Tuesday afternoon, my dear brothers and sisters.  Praise God.  Someone called us today and said they had seen Matthew and he was okay.  We still  have not heard from him.  Please add to your prayer list, Tanya Bates (cancer) and praise God while you are praying for her, for the tumor has been reduced by God from the size of a football to about the size of an orange.  She will be healed by God, folks, she will, please keep your faith.  Another praise report.  Dolores was at the kidney doctor and got a great report.  Thanks be to Jesus.  Let's get cleaned up now before the message.

Dear Father in Heaven, we have come to You for our daily bath, the bath of Your blood cleaning us from our sins, and we ask by saying please clean us, Lord.  And then help us to repent.  Sorry, Lord, that I mess up so much, but I, Lord, will never stop trying to please You.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Tuesday, and the day we pray for the cures for all those illnesses.  Please also keep praying for those who have been on our prayer list.  Tomorrow would be Salvation Wednesday, but I am going to switch that to Friday, so we can wrap up the week with Salvation, and it is also the day we pray for the workers in the fields.  Now while we pray for many folks daily, any suggestions on a group prayer for Wednesday?  Send your suggestions to me, please.

Healing Others (Day Two).  Okay, so today we take a look at the Parable of the Good Samaritan and Jesus asks us which one of those who passed (thanks, Pam) by is our neighbor.  First, put yourself in the man's shoes who was beaten up by the robbers.  You are lying along the road and you are hurting, and while they beat you, they also took your cell phone, so you can't call for help.  So you lie there.  Would it make a difference who would stop and help you?  I don't think it would and I am sure it would not make a difference to me.  I would be just praying and asking God to send help.

Okay, now here you go, you are walking down the street and you see a man lying on the street, beaten and robbed, would you stop and help?  I am sure you would, but today I want to put some things in the mix.  Okay, let's say it this way.

Men first, what if the person needs some CPR, with some mouth to mouth help?  Okay, so it is a nice looking lady, guys, and she needs the help, so you say, sure, I would be able to give mouth to mouth.  But what if the lady was of a different color than you, would that make a difference?  But now what if it was another man, would you be able to save that person's life?  MEN, would you, if needed in case of an emergency, give mouth to mouth breathing help to another man?  I can answer that question for me, for back in my days as a police officer I had that placed in front of me, and yes, I handled it all right.  Remember, men, God started us off by blowing air into us.

Ladies, how about you?  If you came upon someone who needed help and you had to start their breathing by giving them direct air from you, would you be able to do it?  I think the women would be able to handle that, I really do.

Today, so many people say, if I stop to help someone I might get sued.  Golly, I am glad Jesus did not worry about that when He was on the cross dying for my sins.  I am glad Jesus did not worry about getting sued by someone when He cleared me of cancer.  Brothers and sisters, how far would you go to help someone else who was hurt regardless of how they were hurt?  Here is a good question to ask in return ... How far would you want someone to go if you were hurt and the one needing help?  Maybe that is a good way to make you understand it.  But the final question is, how far would God want you to go.  And trust me on this one, if God has you there, right there when an accident happens and help is needed, just ask God to help you and it will happen.  God will make it right.  You might think of a hundred reasons why you might not want to stop and help someone, but there is one good reason why you should ... Because Jesus helps us and we are to be Christ-like ... AMEN!!

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to love all of our neighbors and I pray that if an emergency we come to, that You would help us to deal with it on the spot.  Be with all of those on our prayer lists and heal them and work with them according to Your will.  In Jesus' name,  Amen.

Tomorrow, how old should we be when we stop working for Jesus?  Now go forth and share your blessings ... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday 8/13/12 Helping Others

Luke 10:25 - On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus.  "Teacher," he asked, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?"  26 "What is written in the Law?" He replied.  "How do you read it?"  27 He answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and, Love your neighbor as yourself."  28 "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied.  "Do this and you will live."  (NIV)

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters.  Praise be to God for He is good.  Last week I was led by the Lord to write about Salvation all week long, and on Sunday my message at the Bridges was based on the same thing I wrote about.  I confess I do not do this often enough.  There is no more important subject than that of Salvation through Jesus.  There is no more important job for a pastor, a missionary, a gospel singer or anyone out on the road taking the message, the good news message to the world than the good news about Salvation through Jesus.  I have prayed about this and talked it over with God and I am going to try and have each message, or group of messages, head to Salvation, we might even move Salvation Wednesday to Salvation Friday.  This week we are going to talk about working for Jesus, and when do you retire from that work?  When are you too old to work for Jesus or too worn out to work for Him?  I hope I can answer some of those questions this week.  And who is asking these questions?  Me, most of the time.  I am going to start the week's lessons with the Parable of the Good Samaritan.  This parable will answer a lot of questions.

Okay, prayer lists for today.  Remember, on Mondays we pray for our veterans, our military, our police, firefighters, and all those who work to keep us safe and healthy.  Also, we pray for our leaders.  Please pray for our president and all other leaders, and pray first for their souls.  Please keep praying for Burt and Patsy Emig, pray for the Saylor family, for Grant Crocket as he gets ready for some shots in his shoulders and neck to help with pain.  We need to pray for Barbara and Vicki.  And please keep praying for our son Matthew as we still do not know where he is.  We went up to Sonshine Ministries where Matthew was living, and they have not seen or heard from him.  We just give it to God and trust God is taking care of him. Again, as we did last week, we are going to open with a prayer for God to clean us, and then close with prayer again.  You do know it is okay to pray more than once each day, right?

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day, and thanks for taking care of us.  Please watch over us and clean us again.  Lord, help us to repent, for we know that your Kingdom is near.  In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Helping Others:  How far would you go to help others?  Do you help others other than your family?  Do you expect compensation for helping others?  When do you retire fully from all work including helping others?  Even if you receive help from others, should you be also helping others?  Have you heard the story of the Good Samaritan?  Does it still happen in these times?

Yes, I have opened with a lot of questions today.  Let's look at some of them.  Question one.  How far would you go to help others?  You are on your own on this one, please answer it from your heart.

Question two.  Do you help others other than your family?  Again, you must answer this one.

Question three.  Do you expect compensation (pay) for helping others?  Wow, same answer, you must answer this one on your own.

Question four.  When do you retire fully from all work including helping others?  Let me help you with this one.  Helping others, if you are doing it for God, you should NEVER retire from working for God!!

Question five.  If you receive help from others, should you also be helping others?  Hey, let me help you again.  Each day this guy I know signs off his message by saying this.  "Go forth and share your blessings."  So that should give you the answer, you should share the blessings you receive, even if it is coming in from help you need or your family needs.  Brothers and sisters, if you receive food help from a food pantry and you do not like what you received, please share it with others or take it back.  We find that some people THROW IT IN DUMPSTERS!!  That, my friends, is not sharing your blessings.

Last but not least on the questions today. Have you heard the story of the Good Samaritan?  If not, you will between today and tomorrow.  Does it happen today?  Listen to this and you tell  me.

Two weeks ago on Monday morning, Dolores and I had doctors appointments in Harrisburg, PA, a trip of about 10 miles from our home.  Since the doctors appointments are in a building that requires a long walk for us, we take a wheelchair and Dolores rides and I push, and that works well, she gets the lift and I get to use the chair as a walker.  On the way to the doctors, our truck decided it did not want to run and just quit out on Interstate 81.  Yes, the motor just stopped!  I was in the center lane and worked my way to the shoulder and I was right at an off-ramp so I drifted the truck up the ramp on the shoulder as far as I could go.  It was 7:30 AM and our appointments were at 8:00 AM.  The truck we were in we just purchased about two weeks before that.  So what do we do, well first we prayed and then we put some "feet on the prayers."  ("Feet on your prayers", a quote by Pam Bower made years ago.)  Dolores got on her cell phone and called the doctor's office and told them we would be late.  I first called one of our kids to see if he might be in the area.  He was not.  I called the car dealer, Sutliff Cadillac, and talked to their service man, as I said, we just purchased the truck, it was ten yeas old and did not have a warranty.  I asked them if they had a service car that might come and get us and run us to Harrisburg.  God is good, and had one of their cars just two miles away.  So they headed him our way.  As I said, God is good, so I talked to God some more and got the wheelchair out of the back of the truck and Dolores got in it and I started to push her up the shoulder of the ramp off of Route 81.  We had plans to meet the service car on the street that intersects the Interstate.  Now comes the story of the Good Samaritan.  Dolores is in the wheelchair and I am pushing and it is uphill.  Car after car came up that ramp, and one by one they just passed on by, a lot of them talking on the phone and/or drinking coffee.  Then a lady in a SUV stopped on the ramp and asked if she could help.  Yes, there is a good Samaritan out there, and just as we started to talk to her, the service car arrived and we thanked her for stopping.  Then we got into the car and they took us to the doctor.  And God had it all  worked out, we were not even late.  When done, we called our son Keith who came and took us home.  Now our son runs a garage, but since I had just purchased the truck we sent it back to the dealer, and even though there was no warranty, they picked up the tab.

Brothers and sisters, that story is a fact, it is not made up or enhanced, God worked it all out.  Now my questions for you today ...

What would you have done if you were in our shoes, just prayed and then did nothing else?  Some people think that prayers sometimes work that way.  Yes, I know people who say they are looking for a job, and we should pray for them, but when I tell them that the food store is looking for workers, or the burger joint is looking for workers, they are not interested as it does not pay as much as the hobo check (unemployment check).  In other words, they are not putting feet on their prayers.  Dear God, I need a job, and they expect God to say to them ... Tomorrow report to Washington, DC, you are going to be president!  That is not the way prayer works.  We pray for God's help and then we help God help us and help others.

Now the big question as we wrap up today.

What would you do if you saw some old looking guy pushing a lady in a wheelchair along the highway?  Would you just pass by on the other side of the street?  If you were on the other side of the street and could not get across this busy road, would you circle around and help them?  Would you call 911 and report what you saw?  Believe it or not, lots of people drove past.  I wonder, how many people would have stopped to help if it was a 25 year-old lady with blonde hair along the ramp?

Tomorrow the parable of the Good Samaritan from Bible, and it might surprise you who all passed by.  Folks, we must be careful and use good judgment when you stop and help someone, so you pray about that also.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the message of the day, and thanks for working out all the details when our truck bit the dust on the highway.  Praise be to You, dear Lord.  Please, dear Lord, look over our requests and act on them according to Your will and not ours.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings ... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
