Friday Sept. 30, 2011 Communion

After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of God comes."

Good Communion Friday, my dear brothers and sisters. Please pray today for your own sins to be forgiven before we take of the body and the blood. Please also keep in your daily prayers "Baby Boy Noah" that he is healed from cancer.

Communion: September 30, 2011

Luke 22:17 - After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the Kingdom of God comes." (NIV)

Let's start today by praying, first for our sins to be taken away, for we want to come before the Lord clean. Then for the emblems that they stand for the body and the blood of Jesus. I would like all of you this day to try and really picture yourself as being there that day, being one of the disciples, and hearing our Lord Jesus speak the words that will be quoted from the scriptures as we take communion.

As I came to the computer room this morning very early, I noticed the lights on in Dolores' room, so we went bedside and had communion. Let's pray and please remember I cannot pray to have your sins removed, you must do that one on your own.

Dear Father in Heaven. I come to You this day as a sinner and I am asking again that You wash me white as the new fallen snow. As I come to You this day, thinking of what it must have been like to be one of the twelve gathered at that table in that upper room, Lord, I ask today that You bless the emblems, the bread, the fruit of the vine, so they become like Your body to us. Guide us this day and help us to repent from our sins. All of us, help me to repent of my sins and sinful thinking. And Lord, thanks for Your words as recorded in the book of Luke. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Luke 22:19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it. And gave it to them, saying. "This is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me."

Take your bread now and break it, and I pray you have someone to share it with. Take now and eat, it is the body of our Lord Jesus Broken for you. -------------------------------------- Thank You, Jesus.

Luke 22:20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."

Take now your fruit of the vine, and drink of it, it is the blood of the new covenant, it is the blood of Jesus, and by His blood we are washed clean of our sins. Drink now ---------------- Thank You, Jesus.

This Sunday is World Wide Communion Sunday, so many churches through out the world will be serving communion this Sunday. I was not sure about the Catholic Church and asked one of our readers, and thanks, Sharon, for responding. "communion (Eucharist) is available everyday at every mass in our church." A lot of churches serve communion the first Sunday of each month. Others serve it on special occasions.

After this time with His disciples Jesus went to the "Garden" to pray. I can think of no better way of closing out this week than by singing this old hymn, one my dear late mamma liked the best...

In The Garden... I am taking the words from memory. Please join me.

I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses, and the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses. And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

He speaks and the sound of His voice is so sweet the birds hush their singing, and the melody that He gave to me, within my heart is ringing. And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

I'd stay in the garden with Him tho' the night around me be falling, but he bids me go thro' the voice of woe His voice to me is calling. And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

Please today, share your blessings. And now Go in Peace and May The God of Peace go With You.

Amen. I love ya. Pastor Dan.

And He walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own, and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

Thursday Sept. 29, 2011 The Last Supper 4

When the hour came, Jesus and His disciples reclined at the table. And He said to them. "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment to the Kingdom of God. ===== REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR!"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yesterday was see you at the pole day at a lot of our schools. Where the Christian students gathered at the flag pole and prayed. Today is family day on this line and also Schools day. So let's pray hard for both. On Page 3 of today's Patriot-News (Harrisburg, Pa.) there is a picture of some of the kids and parents praying at the pole, then you see a picture of two atheists holding their signs and protesting with the one sign reading in part "Prayer is discrimination." The other sign reads Don't pray in my school (and) I won't THINK in your church!! Don't you just love it? The names of the two holding signs are Mikki Weidman and Ernest Perce. Hee, hee, here I go, you are going to love this. Let's all DISCRIMINATE against these two people and PRAY FOR THEM. And I invite them to go to any GOOD Christian Church and Not Think all they want. They can even Not Think out loud, and maybe in that church people will not shout at them but take them and anoint them with oil and pray for them, while they are NOT THINKING and that, my dear brothers and sisters, would give them something to THINK ABOUT. So pray, warriors, pray and pray for those two and pray hard and often.

Folks, and each time you pass a school in your travels, when that sign tells you to go 15 MPH, you slow down, brothers and sisters, and that will give you EXTRA TIME to pray in that school zone. If you are stopped by that big yellow cheese (school bus) while sitting there waiting for the driver to shut the door, PRAY FOR THAT DRIVER AND THE KIDS ON THE BUS. We do not need to get into a shouting match with these people who would not come to your church and think, for they are not thinking outside the church. Pray for them, for they need to REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR. Oh, and we need to repent also.

The Last Supper Day 4: Luke 22:14 - When the hour came, Jesus and His disciples reclined at the table. 15 And He said to them. "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment to the Kingdom of God. ===== Matthew 3:2 REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR! (NIV)

You know I am still laughing this morning over our discrimination against these two folks. And about the sign that said "I won't THINK in your church." This came to my mind and folks I know I am off point, but all of you who preach, teach, and sing the word, know that often God will just up and change what you were doing and take over. This is one of those mornings. As I was laughing to myself and even out loud as I just shared the picture and sign statements with Dolores and we prayed, I mean discriminated against these two folks... Now it hit me and oh my gosh, God just said to me, you know we have pastors preaching that are NOT THINKING. And yes, in some churches there are preachers who are preaching things not found in the Bible. Also on yesterday's news there was a rally on the Capitol Steps (inside the building) and they were speaking out for better conditions at ABORTION CLINICS. One of the groups that were there was "Clergy for Pro-Choice." Do you see what I mean about some preachers or "clergy" not thinking? Now I want to invoke the one scripture God gave me for today. We all need to look at it and DO IT. Not just those two we are discriminating against today, but all of us... The scripture is of course. ------

Matthew 3:2 - REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR! REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR! REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR!

Let me see if I can get back on point for a tad anyway. Remember tomorrow we are having communion and you are welcome to join in. Why not see if you can get others at your work site to join with you. Even if you can't do it at the break room, go outside, hey, if the smokers can go out to smoke, then the Christians should be able to go outside and "eat bread and drink grape juice" and of course talk about Jesus and the last supper. Folks, please do not be bashful or afraid to speak out about Jesus, but if you are at a workplace where it could get you fired, then do it smart. Like stepping outside. When I worked at the school district we prayed in my office all the time, we even had group prayer and we invited everyone. We called it "caring and sharing." And that is what it was, we cared for others, and we were sharing that with God. I even had a picture of Jesus on the wall. Gosh, put a picture of Jesus on your desk folks, after all, He is family, right! No law against having a picture of your Brother Jesus on your desk.

Luke 22:14 - When the hour came, Jesus and His disciples reclined at the table. 15 And He said to them. "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

Can we just think about this for a minute? When I was in third grade in Melrose School in Harrisburg Pa. this little teacher, Miss Allen, would tell us to look at a word and then close (our eyes) and picture. Close and picture, close and picture she would say. Today, God gave me this and it just reminded me of her and her statement. I want you to recline as Jesus and His disciples did back then and I want you to picture yourself as one of those disciples and/or a disciple of His today. I want you to close and picture as you recline with Jesus after His "last supper." Let's do it now. My old office chair reclines nice. I was so relaxed doing that I just about fell asleep. Wow, leaning back and reclining with Jesus... I want you to go through today and as you work and you sometimes recline to think (yes, you can do that at work, just not at your church. There I go again), I want you to think about Jesus on that last day before He went to the cross for You... yes, close and picture for what Jesus did, He did for You and for me. While He was on the cross, we were on His mind... Amen.

Now let's pray and do a little discriminating against those two folks.

Dear Father in Heaven, I am having a lot of fun with the message today, even on this very serious subject. Lord, I am praying first today for those two folks who say we should not pray at school. Lord, I pray right now, I pray right now that You open the hearts of Mikki Weldman and Ernest Perce and Lord, use me or someone near to them who loves You to get to them in Your name. I pray that in just a few weeks or even days they become saved. That they become "born again" and go to church and think about what You did for us. And Lord, for those clergy who are wanting to be part of the baby killing, I pray for them today. Lord, bless them and keep them. And Lord, we pray for the unborn and that the abortion will stop. Lord, we pray today for Baby Boy Noah that You take away His cancer. Lord, we pray for families today and for our schools and all who enter them and all who go to sports games and all who enter the school bus. Lord, bless them and keep them. Cause Your face to shine on them and give them peace. And Lord, bless the non-believer as I know You do. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

While you are reclining and you have those eyes closed and you are picturing, also close and picture how you might share your blessings. And know this also, if you or anyone you know need help with food, let us know. We stand ready to help... God bless you... I love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wed. Sept. 28, 2011 The Last Supper 3

"As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Thank you, Tim, for your writing of yesterday. Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray for the lost and for us who are found to work to bring the lost to the feet of Jesus to be saved. Praise report... Blanche went home to be with the Lord last evening at 4:55 PM. Please lift Dale in your prayers. (Yes, a Praise report for we have been praying that she would be called home.) Please keep praying for Baby Boy Noah to be cured from cancer... and pray also for Thomas and Diane Mozer who three years ago on this date I married. May they walk always with God. Happy third, you two... love you both. Please pray for Carol Harris who is in rehab at Golden Living. Dolores is moving forward with recovery and this Sunday she will be back at the piano at the Bridges... Thanks to Wanda and LeaAnne for filling in for Dolores while she was in the hospital.

The Last Supper Day 3: Luke 22:8 - Jesus sent Peter and John, saying "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." 9 "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" They asked. 10 He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, 11 and say to the owner of the house. The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples? 12 He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there." (NIV)

First let me say that this eating of the Passover by Jesus and His disciples was His last meal before He was put to death for us on the Cross. Therefore the term, The Last Supper. Let me remind you at this time that we will be having communion on Friday, so please bring some bread for the body, and grape juice or wine, your choice for the Blood.

One of the things I think is so neat on these scriptures is just how Jesus knows what is going on all the time. He know as Peter and John would enter the city they would find a man carrying a jar of water... Hey, is that a tad scary or what? Think about it, Jesus knows what each of us do all the time. You cannot hide a thing from Him. You think you can sin and He not know.,. He knows when we are eating ice cream and what flavor! I just cannot point that out too strongly to you folks. We need to always live and walk with and for our Lord Jesus, as if He was looking at us, BECAUSE HE IS. Now we are not on wires or strings, we are not controlled by Him, as we were given free will, and you noticed as I did, it did not take long till we messed up. Given a nice garden, we had all we needed but don't touch that one tree. But like today, Adam and Even coveted what was on that tree and then when caught, tried to blame it on a snake.
I would also liked to have been in the upper room with Jesus and His disciples, it would have been nice to see just how they sat around a table. All the pictures and paintings are set for a "photo op." I would think that Jesus would have sat at the head of the table with six disciples down each side. (Gosh, they could have done the photo shot from the other end of the table.)
I remember years ago going to Heritage USA and going to the upper room for prayer. It was really neat and the house was to be built as the house was back in the days when Jesus walked the face of the earth... I can remember sitting up there praying with Dolores over a mountain of prayer requests sent in to Jimmy Bakker to be prayed over.

So folks, as you go forth today, doing whatever you are doing, remember this. Jesus is watching over you and also with me. If you are carrying that jug, He even knows what is in it. When your TV set is on, He knows to what channel, when you "Surf the Net" He knows where you surf, and if you are in a chat room, He knows who you are chatting with and what you are chatting about.

Dear Father in Heaven, I know I am a sinner, and I pray that I will always remember to walk with You and follow in Your light and footsteps and not do it because You are watching, but do it because I love You. Forgive me when I slip and fall, and Lord, please forgive me and help me up. For Lord, I do want to walk with You. Take care of Blanche, dear Father, and hear our other requests and act on them please, according to Your will for us... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth, my dear brothers and sisters. And share those blessings and let others see the light of Jesus in You. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday Sept. 27, 2011 The Last Supper 2

Luke 22:8 Jesus Sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today you will notice a big difference in my daily writing, because I am turning the body of the message today over to my good friend, and the gentleman whom I call the "best baritone-bass" gospel singer there is, his deep, rich voice will lift you and relax you as he sings. Those of you who came to our summer picnic got to hear this "young man" know what I am talking about. Yesterday when I put out a call on my message to my pastor friends for some help on this week's subject this gentleman responded as he often does with a great writing of his own.

This work is just too good for me to "pull" from it and maybe lose something in the changeover to my daily writing that I have decided to turn Carry The Light Ministries Daily Message over to the mind of my dear friend, Timothy Beitzel. So, friends, read, learn and enjoy, as Tim takes over right now... I will be back for the prayer and closing... Thanks my dear brother...

"Symbolic Significance of Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Tabernacles and the New Testament Fulfillment of Each."

By Timothy Beitzel

"Passover – The Feast of Passover is the first of the seven Jewish feasts and is considered the foundation upon which all the other feasts were established. It is held at the beginning of the Jewish year, on the 14th of Nisan. It commemorates the time when God supernaturally delivered the nation of Israel from Egypt through the last of the 10 plagues of Egypt, the killing of the firstborn of all people and animals. Only those who applied the blood of the sacrificial lamb to the doorposts and lintels of their doors escaped this judgment.

On the 10th day of Nisan, the sacrificial lamb was selected, one per family. This lamb had to be perfectly free from defect. They would keep the lamb until the evening of the 14th, when it would be slaughtered and eaten, none of it to be left over by morning.

As Jesus was riding into Jerusalem on a donkey on what we now call “Palm Sunday”, people were gathering and making preparations for Passover. As Jesus was riding into Jerusalem, He was questioned by many about His authority and the manner in which His Kingdom would come. He was being examined just as the lambs were being examined by those who would be slaughtering them later that same week.

On the night that Jesus ate the last supper with His disciples in the upper room in Jerusalem, it was the Passover meal that they were sharing. Jesus revealed to those present that He Himself was the Passover lamb whose body would be broken and whose blood would be shed for the remission of sins so that all who trust in Him would escape the death of the soul. The Feast of Passover, which was initiated by God 1500 years before Christ was a foreshadowing of Jesus, the Pascal Lamb, offered once for all for atonement for sin. When we celebrate Holy Communion, we not only remember the Lord’s sacrificial death, but indeed confirm the fulfillment of the symbolism of the Old Testament Feast of Passover; Jesus, the spotless, sinless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Unleavened Bread – The Feast of Unleavened Bread followed Passover, beginning on the 15th of Nisan and lasted for 7 days. This feast goes hand in hand with Passover as it is a reminder that the Israelites had no time to add leaven to their bread before their quick departure from Egypt. During this period of seven days commemorating the Exodus from Egypt, only unleavened bread was eaten.

A Jewish custom during the Feast of Unleavened bread was to sprinkle leavened bread crumbs throughout the house, then sweep them up and burn them. Leaven was taken to be a symbol of sin and this exercise demonstrated a purification of the household. In Matthew 16:6, Jesus said to “beware the leaven of the Pharisees” meaning their false doctrine. In 1 Corinthians 5:6, the Apostle Paul tells the Corinthian church that “a little leaven leavens the whole lump”, meaning that unchecked sin in the church has a detrimental effect on all the members.

Jesus was crucified on Passover and was in the tomb during a portion of the Festival of Unleavened Bread. Psalm 16:10 says that “God would not allow His Holy One to see corruption. Jesus’ body did not see corruption while temporarily entombed; His body did not experience the decay of death as there was no “leaven” (sin) in Him; God raised Him from the grave on the third day! Jesus was the fulfillment of the symbolism of the Festival of Unleavened Bread.

Firstfruits – was celebrated on the 16th of Nisan during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. At this time of year (Spring), the winter Barley crop was ripe and would soon be ready to be harvested. A sheaf of Barley was cut and ceremonially presented before the Lord. The symbolism is that God’s approval and acceptance of this offering of “firstfruits” of the Barley harvest would ensure a successful harvest for that year.

Something else was taking place on the 16th of Nisan while the Feast of Firstfruits was underway...the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb! While most of the religious people of the day were busy in preparation for this annual feast, they missed the fact that Jesus was fulfilling its symbolic meaning...the first fruit of the dead. While some were raised from death during the ministry of Jesus (Lazarus, Jairus’ daughter for example) Jesus was the only One to rise to never die again. He is also the first of many to rise from death, never to die again, those who have been Born Again and adopted into His family!

Pentecost – Pentecost, also known as Harvest, Shavuot, and the Feast of Weeks, occurred on the fiftieth day after Firstfruits in the month of Sivan. It marked the end of the Barley harvest and the beginning of the Wheat harvest. Leviticus 23 records the instructions given by God regarding the timing of this festival. They were to count off seven weeks (49 days) which would land on a Sabbath. The feast would begin the next day, the fiftieth day, therefore, the festival was named “Pentecost” meaning “fiftieth”.

During this feast, a sampling of the wheat harvest was offered before the Lord, as in the barley in Firstfruits, and also, two loaves of bread baked with leaven to be waved before the Lord, but not consumed until the end of the ceremony. Also required were seven young lambs, one young bull, and two rams which were offered as burnt offerings. The ceremony concluded with a communal meal.

Fifty days after the resurrection of Christ, as the faithful were gathered in Jerusalem for the Festival of Pentecost, the promised Holy Spirit came to the 120 that had been praying with expectation for 10 days following Christ’s ascension. In Peter’s message to the crowds that were gathered there for the feast, this newly empowered and emboldened man explained what had happened that day as a fulfillment of Joel 2:28-29...the Holy Spirit had been poured out on all people. This message provided an immediate harvest of 3000 souls into the Kingdom of God storehouses and served as a promise of future harvests. The gift of the Holy Spirit given at this first post-resurrection Feast of Pentecost was the New Testament fulfillment of this Old Testament harvest feast!

These first four Old Testament Feast have been fulfilled already! The last three will be fulfilled at the end of this current age.

Trumpets – The Feast of Trumpets, or Rash Hashanah, was the first of the Fall Feasts held at the beginning of the Civil New Year in the month of Tishri, the seventh month of the religious Jewish calendar. It began “10 days of awe” leading up to the Day of Atonement and is considered one of 8 High Holy Days in the Hebrew calendar. This feast consisted of a time of rest, "an offering made by fire," and the blowing of the trumpets at the appearance of the new moon. The trumpet, in this case a shofar or ram’s horn, would be the type of horn being blown. The shofar is unique in this celebration, as in all of the other new moon ceremonies, a silver trumpet is used. It was important to keep watch for the appearance of the new moon in the sky, which would have only been a sliver. When viewed, the trumpet would be blown.

In 1 Kings 1:34, when Solomon was anointed King, a shofar was blown. Before Moses ascended Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, as the presence of God descended upon the mountain, the people experienced thunder, lightning, smoke and the sound of a shofar. (Exodus 19:16) As the Ark of the Covenant was being returned to Jerusalem and David danced before the Lord, a shofar was being blown. (2 Samuel 6:15)

The New Testament fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets is yet to come. Isaiah 27:13 reads “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.” The word “trumpet” here, in the Hebrew is “shofar”. In Revelation, Chapter 8, the seven angels are given seven trumpets to announce the seven judgments upon the earth before Christ returns to set up His earthly Kingdom at the end of the age. In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul writes that “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God”. The symbolic meaning of the Feast of Trumpets will be fulfilled at the beginning of the “Day of the Lord” which starts with the Rapture of the Church.

Just as the trumpet was blown when Solomon was anointed King, the trumpet will be blown to proclaim Jesus to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords when He returns to earth to rule and reign. As the trumpet was blown to announce to the inhabitants of Jerusalem that the Ark of the Covenant (Old Covenant, that is) was being returned to it’s rightful place, a trumpet will be blown to announce to the inhabitants of the whole earth that Heaven’s King, the One who shed the blood of the NEW Covenant, has returned in power and Glory!

Day of Atonement – or Yom Kippur in the present day Hebrew calendar, comes at the conclusion of the Feast of Trumpets on the 10th of Tishri and is the culmination of the “ten days of awe” of the Feast of Trumpets. These 10 days included penitence, prayer and fasting. It was on the Day of Atonement that the High Priest entered into the Holy of Holies, or The Most Holy Place where he made atonement for himself and for the sins of the people for the past year. (Leviticus 16) Only the High Priest could enter and only once a year after a quite complicated and involved ceremonial cleansing. The Holy of Holies contained the Ark of the Covenant in the Tabernacle and the first Temple (Solomon’s Temple) and was separated from the outer “Holy Place” by a thick veil.

When Jesus gave His life on Calvary’s cross, He became our High Priest; the veil of the temple in Jerusalem was torn in two, from top to bottom when Jesus died. Jesus, unlike High Priests in the temple service, did not need to purify Himself, as He was without sin. (Hebrews 9-10). At the end of the Great Tribulation, there will be a final Day of Atonement for those of the nation of Israel who made it through this horrible seven year period of tribulation. Zechariah 12:9-10 looks forward to that day:

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”

This believing remnant out of the house of Israel was also addressed by Paul in Romans 11:25-27:

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.”

The New Testament fulfillment of the Day of Atonement will be at the end of the Great Tribulation when Israel will mourn over the “one whom they have pierced” (repent) and believe on Christ as Messiah!

Tabernacles - The seventh and last of the Feasts is the Feast of Tabernacles which is held from the 15th to the 22nd of the month of Tishri. The Feast of Tabernacle, The Passover Feast and the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) were the three feasts that every able-bodied Jewish male was mandated to attend. This feast, also known as the Feast of Booths, was to commemorate the temporary housing constructed by Israel’s forefathers during the time of the Exodus from Egypt. On the first day of the feast, everyone would gather twigs myrtle, willow and palm to construct their own hut or “booth”. Samples of the fall crops were hung in each families’ booth to symbolize the provision of God through the past year.

On the last day of the feast, a ceremony took place where worshippers drew water from the Pool of Siloam and carried it back to the Temple Mount. The High Priest would then pour the water on the altar. The ceremony was a way of invoking God’s blessing upon Israel so that sufficient rains would be provided for a bountiful harvest. In John 7, when Jesus cried out “anyone who thirsts, let him come to me and drink”, it was on this eighth and final day of the Feast of Tabernacles. In John Chapter 8, Jesus said “I am the light of the world”. This coincides with another element of the Feast of Tabernacles, the lighting of the Menorahs at the Court of the Women, one of the three inner courts of the temple in Jerusalem.

The future fulfillment of the symbolism of the Feast of Tabernacles will occur when Jesus Christ comes to “tabernacle with men” (Revelation 21:3) at the beginning of the time when, as Zechariah prophesied , and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. (Zechariah 14:5) and And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: 7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. (Zechariah 14:6-7) Jesus is that light!

This is the time that believer’s have longed for since the time of the Old Testament prophets. The physical fulfillment of the symbolism of the Feast of Tabernacles will come at a time when “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” (Revelation 21:4-6)

Jesus is the source of the water of life!

Jesus was, is and will be the fulfillment of all seven of these Old Testament Feasts. Nothing in Scripture is by accident. God did not give Moses these instructions for the people of Israel without the end in sight. History bears witness to the truth of the Word of God. The Word of God is living, it is truth, it is dependable, it is trustworthy, it has and will stand the test of time...and eternity!"

End of Tim's words.

Dear Father in Heaven, I thank you for Tim, and his work for you, please keep on blessing him as he walks each day for and with you. Bless his family and bless all who his works touch. Thanks for lending him that great voice. Lord, we have a few other requests, please, Lord, be with Dale and Blanch and watch over them. Lord, I ask that you fire up those kidneys of Blanch and heal her, and please, dear Lord, let her with us, but yet, Lord, "Thy will be done." Be with Baby Boy Noah and heal him of cancer. Be with Ron and keep touching him and healing him from that cancer and for my neighbor Debbie, heal her from this breast cancer. And Lord, touch the health of Bob and Faye, watch over them daily. Be with Dolores and keep on healing her, and yes, I really do need your touch also, please Lord, they say I need a couple of knees, would you please repair them for me. Thanks for our ministry food pantry and all the donations coming in right now. Lord, I thank You for all You do for all of us. And thanks for going to the cross for us. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings, and to get your blessings to grow, give some away. You just cannot out give our Lord... Thanks again, Tim, I love you, and yes our online flock, I love ya all. Pastor Dan.

Monday Sept 28, 2011 The Last Supper

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover Lamb had to be sacrificed.

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters and being Monday it is the day we pray for our leaders, our troops, our veterans, our police and firefighters, river rescue units, and all others who work so hard to keep us safe. Please keep praying for Dale and Blanch. Please keep praying for "Baby Boy Noah" to be healed from cancer. And this next prayer request, a parent's worst nightmare, losing a child.

This request in from Pastor Phil Enloe. "I am writing to ask for your prayers concerning the news one of our Harvest Chapel families just received. The granddaughter of SABBY & LOUISE CANCEMI passed away last night. The entire family is devastated as expected. Sabby & Louise's son, Pastor John & Betty, have three children and one on the way. Their oldest child, BRENDA was only 14 years old and was on her high school's Soccer Team. As she was walking to the Soccer Field after school she passed out and was taken to the hospital. She passed away at 7.00 P.M. that evening. The exact reason for her death has not yet been established."

The Last Supper: Day one: Luke 22:7 - Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover Lamb had to be sacrificed. (NIV)

This coming Sunday, October 2, 2011, is worldwide communion day. The first Sunday in October to the best of my knowledge has been worldwide communion Sunday since I was a child. I do not know the starting date of this. While a lot of churches have communion on the first Sunday of the month and on other special occasions, this date seems to touch most all Christian Churches. I think I am correct on this, that the Catholic Church has communion service at all Masses. I have dear friends on the line that will let me know and on what other occasions they might have communion.

Anyway, God is leading me to talk to you about this service, this service of communion, where it is found in the Bible, etc., and then on this coming Friday, we will have what I call "on line communion."

"Passover lamb had to be sacrificed on the 14th of Nisan between 2:30 and 5:30 PM on the court of the priests. Thursday of Passion Week." (Source footnotes of my NIV Bible)

The day of the Unleavened Bread... Well I just had to look up Unleavened to get this right for all of you so out came my dictionary. Unleavened bread is bread made without yeast or other products to make bread rise and become lighter. I remember once at communion where Unleavened Bread was used and it did not have much taste or at least to me, one who loves breads, it was not something I would what to toast each day. As heavy as it seemed to me, it would more than likely break the pop up in the pop up toaster.

I want all of you to think about this... Had Jesus not gone to the cross and been sacrificed for us, might we still be sacrificing a lamb on the Altar of our Lord God? Boy, another thing to praise our Lord Jesus for going to the cross for us so that does not need done.

Dear Father in Heaven, thank You for Your Son Jesus and thank You, Jesus, for going to the cross for us, for we who are so unworthy. Lord Jesus, please look over our prayer requests and honor them as per Your Will. Thanks for helping me with the messages, this one, Lord, is not coming easy for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

To my online pastor friends, I want as always to get things right, please, please send me things that might help me on this subject. Most often we just break bread, pass out the communion wine or grape juice for the Body of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus and do not look at the last supper.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, sharing your love for Jesus. I love ya, Pastor Dan.

Friday Sept 23, 2011 Commandments 10

"The most important one", answered Jesus, "is this, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no greater commandments than these"

He said to them. "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

WELCOME TO FALL 2011. God is about to paint some perfect colors on our mountains and all our trees. I bet Darwin can't paint like that. Boom, Boom, Darwin, "get lost."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes I am late, "I ran out of gas, not my car, but me, I have been so tired for a long time and last night God gave me a nights' sleep to remember.

Brothers and sisters, it is Friday and the day we pray for those who have answered the commandment of God and have gone into His fields of Harvest to bring in the Lost. Today you will find a praise report at the end of the message. Word for word from Pastor Larry Hale.
Please keep praying daily for Blanch and Dale and also "Baby Boy Noah." Please remember to go to the poles, flag poles at your schools on Wednesday September 28th.

Carry The Light Ministries, Inc., has a special announcement to announce today. Founding Members Pastor Daniel W and Dolores Lehman and Pamela Sue Bower welcome in new ministry partners, Grant and Wanda Crockett. Grant and Wanda are wonderful "born again" Christians who have been working with Carry The Light Ministries in a hands-on way for about three or four years. We welcome them in as full partners to the ministries of Carry The Light. Please keep the Ministries of Carry The Light in your prayer, along with all of us. Dolores, Pam, Wanda, Grant and me. Thanks.

Commandments Day 10: Mark 12:29 - "The most important one", answered Jesus, "is this -- 30 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no greater commandments than these" (NIV)

Mark 16:15 - He said to them. "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, while all of the commands of God are there to help us in our walk with Jesus and all are important in our daily living, two of these three Jesus billed out as "There is no greater commandments than these." Love God above all else, our Lord Jesus should be number one in your heart, in your home, in your office in all that you do put Him first. Above all else should be our love for God. Ahead of your spouse, your kids and in all you do go with Jesus first and you just cannot do wrong. Next you must love your neighbor as you do yourself. Who is your neighbor? In my words, "You neighbor is anyone other than you." We have a world wide neighborhood. Gosh, that would give me another quote for today. But, hey, let's give God the glory.

While I could find you many more commandments in the Bible, let me just talk about one more. One that Pamela and Dolores and I and now Grant and Wanda take very seriously. This is where we picked the name Carry The Light. Mark 16:15 - "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." First you need to know that Jesus is the Light of the World, and we are going to carry that Light of our Lord Jesus into the parts of the world we reach. No one person, except for our Lord Jesus, can touch all the world, so you can see why He said... "The harvest is ripe, but the workers are few."

Please will you do as we in Carry The Light have done, and walk out in faith, telling all. JESUS IS COMING BACK... and how they must be saved to get to Heaven. Repent of your sins, follow the commandments, all of them, and live for Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven, we need your help in following the commandments and walking with Jesus, for we slip, we are sinners in need of saving grace, save us this day... and let us work for Jesus as commanded... In His Name, that wonderful Name of Jesus. Amen.

Now go forth stepping out in faith and sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan .

Thursday Sept. 22, 2011 Commandments 9

"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor." "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Thursday and the day we pray for families, your family, my family, all families, and of course The Family of God. Pray for your church family, and it goes on and on for families. And yes, pray for schools, and speaking of schools, NEXT WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011, IS MEET YOU AT THE POLE DAY. This is one day you can join the kids of our schools, private schools, public school, as they gather at their flag pole to pray. Be sure to check the time of your school's prayer at the pole if you are going. Trust me when I say the kids and teachers will make you welcome. At our school, Cumberland Valley High School in Central Pennsylvania, they made the kids go to the flag pole on the football field, instead of letting them use the flag pole in front of the building. "Just another way of some schools to shove Christians away." I will try and keep you reminded for that date.

We now have a first name for our "baby boy Wenerick" with cancer. Noah is his name, so we start praying today for "Baby Boy Noah." Also pray today for Carry The Light Ministries as we place three crosses on the front lawn here at our home where the food pantry is located. I am calling it free speech.

Commandments Day 9: Exodus 20:16 - "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor." 17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (NIV)

So you think we are done with commandments just because we are at those last two of the commandments we call the "Ten commandments," think again. We might finish tomorrow, or maybe not.

Exodus 20:16 talks about not giving false testimony against your neighbor, so first let us say, who is your neighbor? In my opinion your neighbor is everyone who is, well not you. We will get into that more tomorrow when we talk about loving your neighbor. So what is false testimony? False testimony is, well, a lie, a fib. Now while we think of giving testimony in court, let's face it, whenever you are talking about someone, be it at the water cooler or at a party, or in church and you are say something like "Hey folks, have you heard about old Joe" and then you make a statement about that person it is, well it is a testimony and it should always be the truth. Let's look at Psalm 50.

Psalm 50:19 - You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit. 20 You speak continually against your brother, and slander your own mother's son. (NIV)

You see where I am coming from on this. "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor." Ever, be in court, at a party or any other place. In other words, if you do not have something true to say, or even something good to say, the best thing might be to do is to keep our mouths shut. Again I am using the word "our" meaning you and me.

Ok, let's now look at our next scripture for today.

17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (NIV)

Now watch as I update this commandment a bit... Keeping it the same but for today. Watch now - You shall not covet your neighbor's house, or his summer house at the beach or his big camper parked in his driveway. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, girlfriend, or husband or boyfriend, or his manservant or maidservant, or anyone who works for them, his ox or donkey, his Cadillac or Buick, or his Lexus, his boat, his big woodpile or the amount of money they make, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Brothers and sisters, if you share your blessings and you give to God, he will flood you with blessings over and over again. You just do not need to covet your neighbors things for God will give you enough of your own. Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day, and thanks for bringing the family Wenerich to us, and Lord we uplift "Baby Boy Noah" today and ask in the name of Jesus that he be healed of cancer from the top of his little head to the tips of his toes. We also ask you touch the family and Lord, our food pantry, as we step in to help them with food so they have their earned dollars for expenses related to the cancer of their child. Lord, be in our schools, be at the flag poles next week, Lord, be with us and help us with all the commandments and help me as I continue on with this subject tomorrow. Lord, thanks for the messages each day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share those blessings. Hey, instead of coveting your neighbors stuff, give them some of yours. How about that? Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Wed. Sept. 21, 2011 Commandments 8

You Shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal.

Good Salvation Wednesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Yes, Salvation Wednesday and the day we pray for those who might not be saved, and we pray for God to use we who are saved to help bring in the lost to the feet of Jesus to be saved. In a few days we will be talking about the commandment that tells us we need to be doing that work for Jesus. Here are some other prayer concerns today.

Please keep praying for "Baby Boy Wenerick," our 3 year old with cancer. I am saying our, for we in Carry The Light Ministries and all of you prayer warriors are adopting this lad and praying for him. I am hoping to meet this child this evening, and have his first name. We have also been praying for Blanch and her husband Dale. Blanch has been in rehab and she is also one who has been on dialysis. She was to be going for dialysis today, but yesterday she said, "No More." She is tired, she is weak, and she is saved and wants to go home. I prayed with Dale last evening and we released her to the full care and custody of Jesus, still praying for her to be healed and left here. As you folks know, or should know that total healing really occurs when we go home to Jesus. Dale really, really needs our prayer support. Blanch is to be returned to The Bridges Thursday and be with hospice care.

I have a prayer request to pray for Shelly, and that is all that is to be released at this time. Trust in God to know the reasons.

Commandments: Day 8: Exodus 20:13 - You Shall not murder. 14 You shall not commit adultery. 15 You shall not steal. (NIV)

Brothers and Sisters, on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, I talked about the commandment "You shall not murder." One neat thing about having a Blog Spot is you can go back to that day and read what I wrote about murder. I called it America's Greatest Hits. I talked about December 7, 1941; September 11, 2001; and I talked about the MURDER OF OUR UNBORN CHILDREN. Please read that from the blog spot and I will not need to write it anew. http://www.carrythelight4Jesus.blogspot.com

Just this past Monday, September 19, 2011, I talked about "You Shall not commit adultery."
So again on this, please check the blog spot, http://www.carrythelight4Jesus.blogspot.com.
So let's get to the commandment "Thou Shall Not Steal" This commandment seems very basic. If it does not belong to you, and you just take it, that is stealing. If someone else stole it and gave it to you and you knew it was stolen, I would think that is covered in this commandment as it is receiving stolen goods and you knew it. If you did not know it and found out and returned it, then I would think that is not stealing. When I was in school and people wanted to know what my parents did for a living, and you would get asked that a lot... Well, my parents were teachers, but that was not always the answer I would tell them... I would often tell folks that asked what my parents did for a living this. "My parents are in the Iron and Steel business." They are? Yes, mamma would "iron" and daddy would steal." Ok, it was not funny then and I don't hear you laughing now. I just got to get new jokes. Anyway. Before we go one step further, I think we should all go to God and ask Him to forgive us for stealing over our life span.

Dear Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins in breaking the command of stealing. Over my lifetime, dear Lord, I confess to stealing a few things. Thank You, Lord, In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Ok, if you never ever stole anything in your life, you could skip that part. I can remember when I saw this baseball glove and it was nice, and I found it. Finders Keepers, right? Well, not when the other kid's name was on it, and I crossed it out and put my name on it. Oh, and I knew the other kid and he, yes, he told my daddy. And I got it, I had to buy the young man a new glove from my paper route money, other than passing my papers, I was not allowed out of my house for a few weeks, I could not go to Hershey Park that summer, and I could not sit down for a few hours. No, he did not tell me I had to stand, but my backside would not permit me to sit. So, now I ask you, what did you steal, you not need to hold up the bank, or break into a home, you could have just come home with a box of paper clips from the office job, or mailed a letter or two with company stamps. Maybe it was paper, or, oh, and this one might get you. On your break you made a few long distance calls on the company phone. Or maybe, just maybe, you get to work late or leave early and you do not show that on your time sheet. I know in our state government here in Pennsylvania there are even ghost employees, folks on the payroll that don't even come to work and NO ONE MISSES THEM.

Some of these things might have happened years ago and you forgot. Well, today we just got free of them from God. If you did not pray it, and now you remember, go back up and pray it. THOU SHALL NOT STEAL... Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive us this day of all of our sins and sinful thinking. Please be with those on our prayer lists and honor them according to Your will. And Lord, use us, use us to go into the fields for You and help bring in the lost. Lead us to them and give us the words and scriptures to say and use to get them to Your feet to be saved. In Jesus' name, I pray. Lord, put us to work. Amen.

Now go forth working for Jesus and sharing your blessings that he already gave to you. Also use your talent that He has loaned to you for His good. love ya, Pastor Dan.

Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 Commandments 7

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Today I ask you to pray for Ruby Mayeski and her family as Pastor Tony has graduated to be with Jesus in person. We sure are going to miss Pastor Tony for he was the pastor I always referred to as a pastor's pastor, meaning if a pastor needed someone to help him, Pastor Tony was there for you.

Those of you who were at the picnic this summer might remember him as Ruby brought him there.

I need to do this today, and I just know that Ruby will understand... Join me, please....

Oh, when the Saints go marching in, oh, when the Saints go marching in, oh Lord, I want to be in that number, oh when the Saints go marching in. And how our Saint Pastor Tony must have felt when he went marching in... Do it one more time... Oh, when the Saints go marching in, oh, when the Saints go marching in, oh Lord, I want to be in that number, oh when the Saints go marching in.

Good Morning, dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and the day we pray for a cure for cancer and kidney problems and other diseases, while we pray for healing for folks like "Baby Boy," our 3 year old with cancer we pray for the cure for everyone. And speaking of cancer please pray for our next door neighbor Debbie who has breast cancer.

I also need to give you a correction from yesterday as I gave you the wrong information on the Carry The Light Blog Spot... Listed next is the correction. http://carrythelight4Jesus.blogspot.com

Commandments Day 7 Exodus 20:12 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (NIV)

Honor your father and your mother. How many of you would like to have both your father and your mother back so that you could have another shot at honoring them? I loved my parents but I sure would love having another go round with them to honor them. You know one thing that would upset my daddy the most was if I would sass my mamma. If I sassed my mamma I could get a backhand across the mouth from her, and when my daddy would find out, well the backside would get a little redder than normal, and again I will tell you that I was never abused, I only got what was coming to me. Most often mamma would not tell my daddy, for I was indeed a mamma's boy. I did honor my mamma and my daddy but I could have done better. Now once our parents are gone, we honor them by taking flowers graveside, but it is too late for that to count so I would think toward that longer life for us.

This commandment, Honor your father and your mother, tells you this also. If you honor them you may live a long time in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Let's look at this from Proverbs:

Proverbs 4:1 - Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction, pay attention and gain understanding. (NIV)

Proverbs 4:8 - Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. (NIV)

Proverbs 4:10 - Listen, my son, accept what I say and the years of your life will be many. (NIV)

Gosh, if we would just have learned this at an early age. I do want to point this out, the Bible tells us that if we honor our father and mother so that we "may" live longer in this land, it does not say you will, as there are many other factors. One thing we for sure need to do is honor our Father in Heaven, and we need to love His Son, our Lord Jesus, for if we honor our Lord Jesus, and we love Him and invite Him into our lives, then, and then we will have everlasting life, a long life on earth and then forever and ever we will live in Heaven with Jesus. So let us this day, honor our Father in Heaven, and our earthly father and mother. Will you do that today, and if you are so blessed to still have grandparents, please honor them also.

Dear Father in Heaven, we first want to Honor You and to love You, and invite You into our lives. Some of us, our parents have gone on, I am sure my parents are with You, but forgive me, Lord, when I would talk back or sass my mamma, and be rude to my daddy. Lord, forgive me even more when I sinned against You. Please be with Ruby as she goes through this time of sorrow and also victory, she is one of Yours, dear Lord, bless her. And Lord be with Baby Boy and heal his cancer and also with Debbie. Be with Blanch and take care of her... And Lord, please send a cure for these deadly diseases. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Folks I am so sorry I am late, I did not sleep last night at all and this morning as I am typing I keep, well, falling asleep. Wow, a pastor falling asleep during his own message. What's with that... Anyway, go forth now and share your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Monday Sept. 19, 2011 Commandments 6

You shall not commit adultery!

Good Monday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Before I start with the prayer list I just want to remind you that you can read my messages on our blog spot. This site will let you go back and get messages you might have missed. You will also find that Pamela Bower, our ministry partner, who posts the blog cleans up my spelling. Here is our blog spot address. Thanks, Pam, for doing this work. http://carrythelight4jesus.blogspot.com/

Praise report this morning. Mark, who has been out of work for a long time and has been working several part-time jobs has landed a full time job. Thank You, Jesus. Mark said prayers got him through this. Folks, God answers prayers, not always the same day, but never give up on Him.

Yes, Monday and the day we pray for our leaders, our military veterans, our current military, our police, our fire fighters, our river rescue units, our ambulance attendants (air and land) and all others who work to keep us safe and healthy. Also today pray for Blanch, who is still at Health South, Blanch is on Kidney Dialysis and now her kidneys are failing. Pray for husband Dale as he stands by his wife.

New to our prayer list today is a 3 year old with cancer... At the present I do not have his first name, so we are just going to call him "Baby Boy Wenerick." I should have his first name by midweek. You will recall how on this line we have prayed and prayed long term for people, and for kids, we do not list them daily, but we keep them lifted in prayer. We had "Baby Allie" who we still should pray for We had several, maybe six who have been in accidents and were in comas and with all glory to God they all woke up. We have prayed for Ron for cancer and I need to have him write us an update. This man is on fire for Christ, always has been, but you just need to hear his story. And yes, I had two grandchildren on those lists. And now we have "Baby Boy Wenerick" who has cancer. Also we have Kathy Kessler who has stage five cancer, her parents have asked us to pray that God either heals her here or takes her home... She loves the Lord and she is in pain, major pain, and is ready to "go home." Pastor Tony needs to be in our prayers along with his wife Ruby. Pastor is also ready to go home. Let's pray today ahead of the message.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for another day of life, thanks for the air we breathe in and for our food and clothes. Lord, I saw lots of homes the other day, homes that are not there anymore, except for the basement walls, I saw homes with half of the building missing and people taking them down. And I saw history covered over by the flood and the aftermath of that. Lord, bless those people who are touched by this flood in Central Pennsylvania and other places in the world today. We ask that you be with President Obama and all of those leaders in Washington and in our State Houses and our local offices also. Lord, I give thanks today for Mark getting that full-time job and for you taking care of him with many part-time jobs that got him through his absence of work. Lord, I pray today for all of our military, past and present, and all those who work so hard to keep us safe and healthy. Lord, for Pastor Tony, for Blanch, and for Kathy, that you heal them here, or Lord, please take them home. They are ready to meet you face to face, and Lord, for Ron we say thank You for healing power, and Lord, now for this "Baby Girl" who has cancer, please, dear Lord, remove this cancer from her body. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

Commandments Day 6: Exodus 20:14 - You shall not commit adultery. (NIV)

Yes, if you are following me we are doing the commandments, and yes, there are more commandments than the "Ten" commandments. Today I have skipped ahead in those ten for I just need to talk about Exodus 20:14 today and try and relate it to a statement that was made by the Reverend Pat Robertson. In short Reverend Robertson told his 700 Club listeners when talking about people with Alzheimer/Dementia that it would be ok to divorce them, but to see they were taken care of long term. People, please read the report, it was in the Sunday Patriot News, page A20 yesterday.

I seem to remember in the wedding vows that I gave this year to many a couple, that it went in part "for richer or poorer, for better or worse, in sickness and health, till death do us part, so help me God." Over and over couples repeat these vows. (Yes, it is time for someone to say, hey Pastor Dan, you are divorced.) And yes, I was and wish I had that to do over again, but I messed up and now have been forgiven. So I will let that right there.

Right now I want to bring up the names of Robert and Peggy Everhard. Peggy lives at The Bridges and has Dementia and she does not know her husband as a husband but that does not stop Robert or Bob as we know him from coming in each day, for each meal, and feeding his wife and loving her and stopping in on Sunday morning for Church. In fact about three years ago, I did a remarriage service at The Bridges and Robert and Peggy were remarried. Not only did this man not walk away from his bride of many, many years ago, he loved her and loves her so much that he remarried her. To me, TO ME, that is what Reverend Robertson should have told the caller. Words from a song, "Stand by your man" or woman in this case ring in my mind. And yes folks, I am going to write to the TV Reverend and let him know how this old preacher looks at it. You really need the whole story. I have heard that some folks who have long term illness have divorced their spouse so they could get government help and not spend their savings, for long term medical care can break you. But I feel you need to take care of your spouse till the money is down to just your home and what you need to live before getting government help, and I believe you should not, NOT get divorced to get those dollars. Again those vows say till death do us part... I also want to point out that this is the same Peggy that you have heard me talk about. Peggy was very sick about a year and a half ago, hospice was called in, the funeral director was put on alert. I was called bedside to be with Peggy and her family. I went to Peggy at bedside and I leaned down to anoint her with oil and prayed with her and then she, dementia and all started to sing Amazing Grace, so I joined her. God spoke to me and said He was not done with her on earth. I told the family what God put on my heart. Each week I see this couple in the front row at church. It is so dear to see them holding hands in church, in the first row each week. On a sad note she is leaving the Bridges to go to the Church of God home, where she will get more care and where one of their daughters works. God is good, folks, God is good.

Now it is time to go, more tomorrow on commandments. For now, share those blessings and know that Jesus and I love ya... Pastor Dan.

P.S. Just received word: Pastor Tony went home to be with the Lord. Details tomorrow.

Friday Sept. 5, 2011 Commandments 5

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord you God.

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is indeed Friday, and that is the day we pray for workers in the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus. Also today pray for Shelly who is going to be tested to see if she has cancer. She also has other health issues. Shelly and her husband drive truck together so while you are praying, pray for their safety in their travels. Also pray for the families in this little town we call Union Deposit as many of their homes just destroyed in the flood. These folks are living in a fire house and waiting for FEMA. Right now I would like to tell you that when FEMA was not on hand when Katrina hit it was all over the news and then President Bush is still catching Heck for it. But what about now? I will let it go at that. We head to the doctors with Dolores today, keep her in your prayers. She is doing well, but has a long road to go.

Commandments Day 5: Exodus 20:8 - Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord you God. (NIV)

Ok, folks, this one gets me in trouble all the time. For which day is the Sabbath Day? Look at your calendar and you see that Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh.

The Bible goes on to tell us this.

Exodus 20:10 - but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or your maidservant, nor your animals, not the alien within your gates. (NIV)

Ok, it is Sunday Morning and we (we=you and me) are sitting in church, it is nearing noon and we are thinking, is this preacher going to get done, and you watch your watch because you are heading to the local food place and you want to beat the line. While we Christians want to rest on the Sabbath, we sure EXPECT those who cook food, who wait tables, and clean tables, to be working on the Sabbath, oh gosh, we want them there. But the Bible tells us our manservant and maidservant should not work, and do they not fit that bill for they are for sure waiting on you. Oh, and the Bible tells us also that we should not work our animals, but even the Amish who do not work on Sunday, or work those big horses and mules, use their Sunday horse to pull that buggy to church.

Oh, and we sure need those hospital workers, and those who work in retirement and nursing homes, and they need done. Let me clear up some of this right now... Jesus worked on the Sabbath!

Luke 13:10 - On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, He called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity. 13 Then He put His hands on Her and immediately she straightened up and praised God. (NIV)

Ok, we just cleaned up one of the questions, those in the medical field and also the ones teaching Sunday School and the Pastor are also cleared, as Jesus was also teaching. But what about the rest, I mean the farmer must take care of His animals and the cows keep giving milk even on and the farmer must milk them and that is also in the Bible that the animals must be taken care of.
So here I go with my thinking on this. Some must work on Sundays, or Saturdays, which might be their Sabbath. Here is what I think we should do, if indeed we would have a job that makes us report on our Sabbath. First we should keep EVERY DAY HOLY, for are we not to live for Jesus and follow in His footsteps, are we not to curse or swear all the time. So I feel we need to live for Jesus and by doing that we are indeed keeping each day Holy... and then there is on the Seventh Day God rested from His work. Folks, rest your bodies one day of the week. But what about mowing grass on a day of rest? You know, to some people mowing grass is work, while to others, some like it. Being in your garden might be a hobby and you are resting while you tend the area. Or you might be resting your body while you are watching that football game or in my case watching the NASCAR guys go make left turns all day.

To wrap this one up, make each day Holy by living for Jesus, and rest your body, take a day off to rest your body, rest your brain... At one time I wrote messages seven days a week, my dear friend Tom Sansoni told me, Dan, even the Lord took a day off... so I stopped writing on the weekends except on some occasions I will write on a Saturday.

Dear Father in Heaven, We want to live for You daily, and we need Your help to do just that. And Lord help us understand this commandment more and more. Please look over our prayer lists, Lord, and honor our requests according to Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and living for Jesus, have a great and wonderful weekend...
Love Ya, Pastor Dan.

Thursday Sept. 15, 2011 Commandments 4

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Once again we are being hit by a thunderstorm and a few heavy rains passing by, but nothing major. Today is the day we pray for families and for our schools. Please in those prayers remember to pray for the family of God. Please pray again today for Vicki. Vicki said we are tired of hearing from her, and I told her never do we tire from hearing from anyone who is asking for prayers. So please pray for Vicki daily, even if she is not listed. Also pray for Pastor Tony and Ruby and also Dale and Blanch.
I want to thank all of you who have been asking about Dolores. So I am going to give you some daily updates. Dolores had a good day, her first full day home from the hospital. She moves slowly but is getting along walking in the house with a walker. Her leg must be in a cast from the hip to the foot and she can remove it to wash. She can do all this on her own. I do the cooking, dishes (machine done), and wash (another machine). We feel so blessed, and Michael, one of our Yorkies that buddies up with her, will not leave her side. Dolores also spent about 4 or 5 hours working on Ministry Letters.

Thanks again for praying for her and caring so much.

Commandments Day 4: Exodus 20:7 - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name. (NIV)

Before I start on this scripture I need to finish up from yesterday, you remember I got going on "The Lord spoke". The commandment was "You shall have no other gods before me." And the commandment goes on to say about idols and we should not have them in ANY FORM. In short we are to worship our Lord God and only Him. We are to always keep Him first in our life, and we are to love Him above all others including your very own family and even your spouse and your own children, your own flesh and blood. You shall not worship your caddy, or your big pickup truck or your motorcycle or any other object. And while you should love and care for your pets, they also come under our Lord Jesus. As you know I have a great love of automobiles; I do not worship them. Recently during one of the storms, trees had fallen at our home. Dolores was in the hospital when our antique funeral fleet took a hit, two of the vehicles had trees fall on them, one was smashed badly. Before I knew Jesus I might have been upset, but not this time, with the other storms and people losing life, and their homes, what is a vehicle? Maybe God left these trees hit my vehicles just to test me, to see how I would handle it. Well, let me say this. Jesus first, after that people, then animals, and way down the list, "stuff". I pray that all of you have Jesus first, then family, neighbors, and then stuff. On that commandment it states how you will be punished to the third and fourth generations for those who hate Him. But for those who love Him, there will be blessings for a thousand generations to come. Love Him, folks, and let the blessing flow to your family and their family, etc., for a thousand generations, and let your family know not to drop the ball.

Now for the scripture of today. Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God or your mamma will feed you soap. Ok, so when I was a child, that is the way I understood it. Curse and get your mouth washed out with soap. (I liked Ivory the best.) I think my mamma really wanted me to know that you are not to misuse the name of the Lord ever because she knew and now I know and now you know that God will not hold you guiltless for misusing His name... Please tell me why, yes, please tell me why, someone who does not believe in God, will misuse His name when He hits his finger with a hammer, or just plain curses about things. I question why they don't say D.D. You know, call on Darwin. So folks, don't misuse the name of the Lord and correct others when they do. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven... Thanks for anther day of life here on earth, thanks for hearing and answering our prayers. Thanks for the commandments, and for us this day. Forgive us from our sins. Hear our praise reports on Dolores and others who have been touched by You and we have all been touched by You. Thanks for our daily bread and needs. Thanks for this line and the flock who follow it. Lord, thanks for blessing us daily. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings and loving the Lord above all else. Love ya, Pastor Dan.
