May 5, 2011 God's Second Greatest Gift 4

She became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.

Good Thursday Afternoon to you, my dear brothers and sisters. Today is the day we pray for schools, for families, and also please pray a nice word of praise to God, as yesterday while moving antique buses at the Bus Museum Annex, and backing one down a steep hill, the brakes failed, all of the brakes. With two of us moving the buses, one behind the wheel and one watching as the area is very tight, God took over and after a wild ride backwards, me behind the wheel, and my buddy Tom Mozer outside, the bus came to rest, after hitting the side of a trailer, the results, a few scratches on the bus, a bent fender on the little trailer, and two very, very blessed people. GOD IS GOOD, HE HAD HIS HANDS ON US... someone say amen. Please pray also for Art who is having eye surgery as I type this.

I am late today because we were being blessed again, first as we picked up a load of bread for the food pantry, and then off to another food bank where we put in their trust for loaning out, two hospital beds belong to Carry The Light Ministries, and loaded on two skid loads of food. Now I must put it all away. I will call out the troops to help unload the trailer.

SPECIAL NOTICE. This Saturday at high noon, on the Capitol steps in Harrisburg, Pa., a support our troops rally. It starts at noon and will be over by 1:00 PM and again I am being blessed as I will be opening with prayer, and also closing with the benediction. COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, Hope to see you there!!

Mothers, God's Second Greatest Blessing 4: Exodus 2:2 - She became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. 4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen. 5 Then Pharaoh's daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. 6 She opened the basket and saw the baby. He was crying and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said. 7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?" 8 "Yes, go," she answered. And the girl went and got the baby's mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her. "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying "I drew him out of the water." (NIV)

Today I picked this scripture and these two women, both of whom were mothers to the same person, Moses. One mother, the birth mother, was willing to see her son be rescued by another person, because at that time all baby boys were being killed. This was indeed a special love to save her child. The daughter of the one who issued the killing order got the child and, well you have read the rest of the story above. How about that for God working things out?

A mother who delivers a baby is special, any mother. However, some make a choice that the child would be better off if someone would raise that baby for whatever reason. They give the child up for adoption. A mother who gives the baby up, over having it MURDERED BY ABORTION is a good mother. A mother who has an abortion is involved with murder. (However, if any of you have done this, go to God now and ask forgiveness as Jesus is in that business.) For whatever reason a mother, maybe because she is single and cannot afford a child, or maybe she is involved in drugs, or maybe even going to jail, but for whatever reason a mother has the child and then seeks safety for the child in the hands of someone who is screened to get the child, it is a good thing. Yes, we would love to see all mothers raise the child right and in line with Jesus. We know it does not always happen, but if you pray and work closely with God, He will work it out. Example... Moses.

Dear Father in Heaven, bless those mothers that make the decision that their baby would be better off in the hands of others, and Lord, see that the child gets a great home. Thanks for looking after Tom and me yesterday, and I ask today Your blessings over schools, all of them, and also over families, thinking first of Your family, the family of God. Watch over my neighbor Art as he has surgery today on his eye. In Jesus' Name... Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, loving Jesus and loving your mamma... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
