May 3, 2011 God's Second Greatest Gift. 2

The Lord then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation."

Good Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Today is the day we pray for cures for all those things that go wrong in our bodies. Not just for one person but for cancers to be cured, heart problems, kidneys, etc. Brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters, even if God would send a cure, directly or through the hands of others, do you think we, we people who have been given "free will" by God would listen to the rules of engagement given to us by God? I guess I need to explain that one. If God would send a cure for liver failure and one of the rules would be to cut out all "heavy drinking", would people do it, or would we still have those who drink around the clock? And while I know that some of the diseases are not entirely caused by some of our, and I am saying our, meaning you and me. Example, my dear late brother died of lung cancer, smoked from when he was fourteen till he was told he had lung cancer and stopped that day. Two months later he went home. A person has diabetes, even taking those shots to bring the sugar level down, but each morning eats four or five donuts for breakfast. One good example of this is: God sent us that cure to get rid of our sins, He sent us Jesus, but do we repent? I mean it is hard not to sin, but do we even try all the time? So folks, as we pray for the cures of all these things, are we ready to do our part?? Did you notice I have myself in there with all of you? So as we pray for God to send the cure, we need to pray that we will do our part. Or as parents, do our part for our children. When I was a child, everyone was worried about T. B. (please do not ask me to spell what that means). Then God gave the knowledge for a vaccine to a doctor. I remember my dear Mamma taking me to get the stuff and it worked, and T. B. was all but wiped out. Now parents are not taking the kids for the vaccine and there are reports of it starting up. WE ARE MUST FOLLOW GOD'S RULES. AMEN. Pray about it, folks.

Mothers: God's Second Greatest Gift. 2 Genesis 7:1 - The Lord then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation." (NIV)

While the person I picked today for my next choice of a great mother, I do not even know her name... Her husband might have called her "Honey Bun" or Sweetie Pie" or just Dear. Her sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. more than likely called her "mother". Maybe her middle son would call her some cute little names for after all he was a "Ham" (stop it, Dan, just stop it). Let me just call her in all respect, "Mrs. Noah," for she was the wife of Noah.

While the Bible tells us that God found favor in Noah, God must have also found favor in Noah's family. I think God fully understands that if He really needs a great man and that man is married, behind that man there is a good woman. The same would go for the sons of Noah and their wives. I want you to think about this... Noah and the boys built this very big Ark, this really big boat and they had to build it just as God wanted it, any mistakes or shortcuts might cause the boat to sink. Think about all the things we get today that are faulty because people did not follow the rules to build it and/or just took shortcuts. Shortcuts on building materials, and poor workmanship. Think about all the recalls of cars and trucks and other things, even your toaster in the kitchen. While all of us someday will be recalled by our maker, think of what might have happened if shortcuts would have been taken by Noah and his family...

But let's get back to Mrs. Noah. I love animals, and I know our very few animals cause us a lot of daily work, and I mean a lot of daily work and it is worth it. But think of it, Noah gets this assignment from God and Mrs. Noah gets to help with building an Ark and then cleaning up after all those animals. Think about it, folks, things that eat, well things that eat "Go" and with just 8 people on the Ark, Noah and Mrs. Noah and their boys and their wives, they would all need to work together. Tomorrow, more (in my opinion) great mothers. Tomorrow's great mother, well, wait till tomorrow.

Dear Father in Heaven, as we pray for cures for diseases, help us to help you by giving up those habits that cause some of the diseases we want cured. And Lord, please bless mothers a little extra this week, and help all who have their mothers remaining to love them dearly... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings. love ya, Pastor Dan.
