April 27, 2010 Great Promises 2

"I am going to bring flood waters on the earth!"

Happy Schools day Tuesday, my dear brothers and sisters. The sun is high in the sky right now as I am running late this morning. Very tired after the tests of yesterday, but all went well. Whenever something is put in your spine you have concern. Dolores also did well on her tests, (same hospital, different building). Seems we walked a ton of miles inside those big buildings at the Hershey Medical Center. People were all so nice. Today is the day we pray for our schools and all who have anything to do with them. Please pray for all who work there and all who go to school there, and yes, please pray for the ones paying the bills. A lot of us (you and me) pay the costs and it is getting out of control. Do we need those great big buildings, swimming pools, faux grass on the football fields? Can we just get back to teaching kids how to read and write? Pray about it folks, pray about it. And if you are concerned about the education your children are getting in public schools, consider private, Christian, including the Catholic Schools, or even home school. It is up to the parents to see their children get that good education. Also please pray for the Central Dauphin School District, what a mess.

Great Promises 2: Genesis 6:17 - I am going to bring flood waters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it . Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female to keep them alive with you. (NIV)

I wanted to bring out this promise of God to show everyone that all promises of God are not what we would call good. You can see in the scriptures that God gave me to use today has really two promises in it. These promises were made to Noah, a man that God found favor in and trusted to carry out the work, and also to Noah and his family. God made this promises... Everything on the earth will perish, except for Noah and those God told him to take into the ark... And folks the rain came. God did this to "clean up the corruption and all the bad that was going on. It got out of hand and God brought it to an end.

When I look at what is going on around the world again I can't help but wonder just when God is going to send our Lord Jesus back and bring this mess to an end. That is why we must work so hard to get the word out about being Born Again.

God fulfilled the promises and the rains began and they came and came and came... it rained for forty days and forty nights, and the flood waters covered the earth for one hundred and fifty days. After that the waters went down and more days went by until Noah and his family got out of the ark.

Now God made another promise to Noah... God made a covenant with Noah, and a covenant is indeed a promise. Now a lot of people think God will not destroy the earth again or even parts of it, because he made this promise, but the Promise, the Covenant with Noah, was that He would never again do away with the earth WITH WATER. No more really big, big flood that would kill everything. Then He made a sign that would remind Himself. Yes, God wanted to remind Himself of the promise He made to Noah. So the sign was rainbow, so after the rains go and the sun comes out and you see the rainbow, please remember what it is for and what it does not stand for. It is a sign from God, to God and we all can see it. A sign He will not end the earth with water. What it is not is a sign from God to be stolen by the gay community as they sign. That community should take a good look at the behaviors of the people before the flood. Will God destroy the world again? The question is when not if... And it will happen. I am amazed with all the crime, and the killing of people, the murders, and all that is going on that it has not happened. Until it does, LETS GET WORKING FOR JESUS...

My question for you today is, did you ever make a promise that, well, was not the best for all but really needed? Sometimes in a family we need to make a promise that involves tough love. Someday again we will talk about that.

Dear Father in Heaven... forgive us of our sins this day and put us forth to work for You. Talk to us and make us listen and please give us the tools to do the jobs You send us out on. Lord, thanks for the promises of taking care of our needs. I really love You. Help us all to learn to share our blessings that You have given us to cover those needs with others. May those needs be covered by us working for You. Bless our schools this day, Lord, and see that education is brought forth and may You Jesus return to the classrooms and take care of business there... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Go forth sharing your blessings, and folks, how about when you pass a school you pull to the shoulder of the road and pray for that school. Even better, take some anointing oil and anoint the school, the sign in front, the flag pole, the main door. In the name of Jesus, pray and anoint our schools... Love ya, Pastor Dan.
