April 30, 2010 Great Promises 5

"In my Father's house are many rooms."

Good Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who go out into Fields of Harvest working for our Lord Jesus. This last day in April 2010 looks like it is going to perfect here at the Southern Location of the North Pole... THANK YOU JESUS!

Great Promises 5: John 14: 1/3 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you also may be where I am." (NIV)

At The Bridges a lot of those who lost loved ones have come up with this saying, coined by Mr. William Sanders on the passing of his wife Ruth. William said this, "She's in the Mansion."
Since that time I have heard over and over again people talking about their "late" loved ones being in the Mansion. How be we do a little singing this day as we sing this wonderful hymn.

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below, a little silver, and a little gold. But in that city, where the ransomed will shine, I want a gold one that's silver lined... "I've got a mansion just over the hilltop, In that bright land where we'll never grow old. And someday yonder we will never more wander, but walk on streets that are purest gold."

Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely, I'm not discouraged, I'm heaven bound. I'm just a pilgrim in search of that city, I want a MANSION, a harp and a crown. "I've got a mansion just over the hilltop, In that bright land where we'll never grow old. And some day yonder we will never more wander, but walk on streets that are purest gold."

Yes... "I've got a mansion just over the hilltop, In that bright land where we'll never grow old. And some day yonder we will never more wander, but walk on streets that are purest gold."

Another great promise of God is a place for us to go, where we will be with Him someday. All of us, if you are reading this, have a mansion here on earth, yes, a mansion, a home, apartment, trailer, a roof over your head... I love our home. I want you to remember this, you CANNOT buy a home, you buy a house and then you move in your family and you make it into a home when you invite in Jesus. No Jesus, no home. Anyone want to put an Amen on that one? Our mansion here on earth has two bedrooms, a great room, a year round out porch where the computers are, and a full basement that is where the food pantry is located. This sits on two acres of land which we call The Southern Location of the North Pole. Dolores and I love our place and give thanks for it daily. But we have seen nothing yet... wait till we get to the mansion and the good part about it... WE WILL SEE JESUS. Not just in our hearts, but face to face... Another great promise of God, A MANSION OVER THE HILLTOP.

Dear Father in Heaven, I am really satisfied with my mansion here on the earth, but look forward to living with You in our Mansion in Heaven. Lord, forgive us of our sins this day and bless all those who are working Your fields bringing in the lost to you. In the name of Jesus, I give thanks for trusting in us to work for you... Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings, helping others and walking in the footsteps of Jesus. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 29, 2010 Great Promises 4

"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well."

Good Family Thursday, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a really beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. We had a tad bit of cold weather overnight dipping down to the mid 30's. Today it is to warm up and tomorrow summer is due back. Today is family day and as always I ask you to pray for the family in the White House. Our President did call on the Reverend Graham last week and I am sure there were seeds planted. Water those seeds, warriors, water those seeds.

Great Promises 4: James 5:13/16 - 16 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him (them) and anoint him (them) with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise Him (them) up. If he (they) have sinned, he (they) will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)

I have been praying about this series of messages and talking to God and asking about more time on these. There is just no way that I can finish out all of the many great promises of the Lord and get it done in one week. So I have asked God to please help me with more of these promises into next week when we will get to the one that I, well never mind, I will tell you that on that day.

Let's look at the scriptures from James and see how many of you it fits. First, is any one of you in trouble? Well, I guess we could all fit this one at one time or another in our lives. Think of it, in trouble! Who among us has not bit off more than they could chew up at one time or another when it comes to our spending habits? Who among us did not do something wrong in our lives and we were afraid we would get into trouble? Look back into your school days. Here is one example of what I did, and sorry to say I did it more than once. First, my parents were both school teachers. Son Dan, that would have been me, hated school, so I never did homework; however, I had a classmate who knew I worked at night that would help me get something on paper in the mornings. But when the tests came, I would get that poor grade. I took the submarine course in high school, yes sir, all my grades were below "C" Level. I even failed jokes!! Anyway, I would get a poor grade and knew I would be in trouble for that, so I would sign my dad's name on those test papers. Then I would be in trouble twice. However, God got me through it all, even before I knew about this scripture. My point on this is that regardless of the trouble you are in, the trouble you have, God will help you get through it. Even if you did a crime, and you must do the time, God, if you come to Him, will help you get through it.

We are also told in this scripture if you are happy you should sing songs of praise, and folks, I am a happy person most of the time and I love singing and more than anything. I love singing songs about God and for God, and yes, even to God. Someday soon we should have a day of singing on the line.

So that brings us to this part of the scripture. Is any one of you sick? Folks, all of us at one time or the other would fit right in here. For all of us at one time or the other have been sick, some serious and some maybe not so bad. But we have cancers, heart problems, broken bones, dislocated parts, we have been in accidents, you name it, and at one time or the other in our lives it was nice to have people pray for us. Now here we find one of God's great promises. If we are sick we are to follow these orders... Call the elders of the church to anoint you and to pray over you. We are to offer up prayers IN FAITH. And the Lord will raise him up. If you have sinned you will be forgiven.

Now it is question time... Have you ever prayed for healing from your sins? Yes, I really would like to hear from you. Yes, if you prayed along with this line you prayed for forgiveness of sins just yesterday. Now have you ever prayed to be healed from some sickness? Were you healed?
While other than our faith in our Lord Jesus that our sins have been forgiven, we really will not know that till we stand in front of God on judgment day. We know that Jesus went to the cross to save us from our sins, we know it because of our faith in Jesus. But what about being sick? I have been healed from cancer by God. I have had bones healed. The fact is I don't know of anyone who has not had the healing hand of God in some way or another in their lives. Think about it. If someone tells you that they never had the healing had of God or they do not believe in the healing hand of God, ask them if they ever broke a bone. Or tell them of someone who has had a broken bone. Doctors can set a break, but only God, ONLY GOD, can mend it together... AMEN!!

So today as we go to prayer, thank God for the healings that have occurred in your life...

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for forgiving my sins and thanks for healing me from cancer and other things... I love You Lord, may I use this day to live for You... In Jesus' name, Amen.

Go forth sharing your blessings and telling others about the great promises... love ya Pastor Dan

April 28, 2010 Great Blessings 3

"Greetings, you who are highly favored!"

Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, pray for God to bring you nearer and nearer to Him and for you to be used to help lead others to the Lord. Remember please, you cannot save a soul, only our Lord Jesus can do that, but we are His helpers, the workers of His fields, and we are to be bringing forth the lot, telling the good news and helping them to come to Christ. Today is also a very good day for we sinners on this line to "come clean" with Jesus. So instead of prayer near the end, let's pray first today.

Dear Father in Heaven, we come today as sinners needing Your help to wash away our sins. We know that we do not live up to Your standards, but we really want to. Please forgive us of our sins and put us to work helping to share the good news of Jesus and helping to bring the lost to Your feet. Thanks for going to the cross for us, dear Jesus, and we sure love and believe that You were risen and have faith that some sweet day we will sit with You face to face and live with You forever and ever. Thanks for all of those promises, dear Lord. We give thanks for our many blessings this day. We pray again for Vicki and pray that all goes well at her doctors. We pray for Larry and his family and that his house is rebuilt so they can move back in with You and make it a home again after the fire. Thanks for all You do... I come to You thanking You for the message of today and thanking You for another day and for the bread that will be coming into our food pantry today... In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Great Promises 3: Luke 1:26/33 26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus." 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." (NIV)

Great Promises... I typed out a lot of scripture this morning and ask you to read it over a few times. Do you see the promises in the scriptures? Let's look at a few of them... While not all the promises are from God, just look at the promises there. Let's start out with the word pledged. When you pledge something are you not making a promise to someone or about something? Here in verse 27 we see the angel Gabriel talking to Mary who is pledged or promised to marry Joseph. So let's count that as two promises as one does not get pledged without the other saying YES. It is sort of like when a couple today gets married. One asks "will you marry me" and the other says "yes" and they pledge their love to each other, two make promises to each other. Most of us have been there and done that. There was one thing that most likely was different... (no virgin) did I say that??

Next promise is found in the next verse, verse 28. The promise "The Lord is with you." And folks, He has made that promise to us, and He does not break a promise, for He indeed is with us. Ok, let's move on.

Verse 31 - Old Gabe told Mary that she would be with Child and that was a promise indeed and again it was fulfilled for we all know the story of the birth of our Lord Jesus. In fact we see two promises in the first part of that verse. You will be with child, would be the first one, and you would have a son number two.

In verse 32: Here we find three promises: 1. He will be great! And He was and is and always will be. 2. He will be called the Son of the Most High! And He was and is and always will be. 3. And He will be given the throne of David. And He was...

Now verse 33 - Two promises in this verse 1. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; 2 His kingdom will never end." Le'ts look back at verse 33 and that second promise. His kingdom will never end... Here is a promise where we must have real faith in our Lord to carry it out. There are several promises like that in our Bibles. We will discuss some of them.

Now my question for you folks. Have you ever looked at all the promises that God made to us?? I must be truthful, I have looked at a few, however having God give me a message on them has really opened my eyes. How about you, folks? When you look through these verses and the promises here, think of how they affect us today, or should it be effect us? Don't know all those correct spellings, but I do know that every one of the promises of God have something to do with us today.

Go forth now sharing those blessings that Jesus promised you and has given you. Share them with all the love that Jesus did when He gave them to you... love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 27, 2010 Great Promises 2

"I am going to bring flood waters on the earth!"

Happy Schools day Tuesday, my dear brothers and sisters. The sun is high in the sky right now as I am running late this morning. Very tired after the tests of yesterday, but all went well. Whenever something is put in your spine you have concern. Dolores also did well on her tests, (same hospital, different building). Seems we walked a ton of miles inside those big buildings at the Hershey Medical Center. People were all so nice. Today is the day we pray for our schools and all who have anything to do with them. Please pray for all who work there and all who go to school there, and yes, please pray for the ones paying the bills. A lot of us (you and me) pay the costs and it is getting out of control. Do we need those great big buildings, swimming pools, faux grass on the football fields? Can we just get back to teaching kids how to read and write? Pray about it folks, pray about it. And if you are concerned about the education your children are getting in public schools, consider private, Christian, including the Catholic Schools, or even home school. It is up to the parents to see their children get that good education. Also please pray for the Central Dauphin School District, what a mess.

Great Promises 2: Genesis 6:17 - I am going to bring flood waters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it . Everything on earth will perish. 18 But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you. 19 You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female to keep them alive with you. (NIV)

I wanted to bring out this promise of God to show everyone that all promises of God are not what we would call good. You can see in the scriptures that God gave me to use today has really two promises in it. These promises were made to Noah, a man that God found favor in and trusted to carry out the work, and also to Noah and his family. God made this promises... Everything on the earth will perish, except for Noah and those God told him to take into the ark... And folks the rain came. God did this to "clean up the corruption and all the bad that was going on. It got out of hand and God brought it to an end.

When I look at what is going on around the world again I can't help but wonder just when God is going to send our Lord Jesus back and bring this mess to an end. That is why we must work so hard to get the word out about being Born Again.

God fulfilled the promises and the rains began and they came and came and came... it rained for forty days and forty nights, and the flood waters covered the earth for one hundred and fifty days. After that the waters went down and more days went by until Noah and his family got out of the ark.

Now God made another promise to Noah... God made a covenant with Noah, and a covenant is indeed a promise. Now a lot of people think God will not destroy the earth again or even parts of it, because he made this promise, but the Promise, the Covenant with Noah, was that He would never again do away with the earth WITH WATER. No more really big, big flood that would kill everything. Then He made a sign that would remind Himself. Yes, God wanted to remind Himself of the promise He made to Noah. So the sign was rainbow, so after the rains go and the sun comes out and you see the rainbow, please remember what it is for and what it does not stand for. It is a sign from God, to God and we all can see it. A sign He will not end the earth with water. What it is not is a sign from God to be stolen by the gay community as they sign. That community should take a good look at the behaviors of the people before the flood. Will God destroy the world again? The question is when not if... And it will happen. I am amazed with all the crime, and the killing of people, the murders, and all that is going on that it has not happened. Until it does, LETS GET WORKING FOR JESUS...

My question for you today is, did you ever make a promise that, well, was not the best for all but really needed? Sometimes in a family we need to make a promise that involves tough love. Someday again we will talk about that.

Dear Father in Heaven... forgive us of our sins this day and put us forth to work for You. Talk to us and make us listen and please give us the tools to do the jobs You send us out on. Lord, thanks for the promises of taking care of our needs. I really love You. Help us all to learn to share our blessings that You have given us to cover those needs with others. May those needs be covered by us working for You. Bless our schools this day, Lord, and see that education is brought forth and may You Jesus return to the classrooms and take care of business there... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Go forth sharing your blessings, and folks, how about when you pass a school you pull to the shoulder of the road and pray for that school. Even better, take some anointing oil and anoint the school, the sign in front, the flag pole, the main door. In the name of Jesus, pray and anoint our schools... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 26, 2010 Great Promises 1

"I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."

Good rainy Monday morning, my dear brothers and sisters. This is from Ron who HAD stage four cancer... His treatments are going good, he feels great, and feels God is clearing his body of cancer. From Pam, who HAD breast cancer... They think her body is clear of cancer, follow up treatments are going great. Also this blessings... Courier Gospel Singer Larry More's house burnt while they were out on concert. No one was at home, no one was hurt, but they lost most of their personal things. So please pray for Larry, Raylene, Doug and Jeremy More as they go through this trying time in their lives.

Monday, and the day we pray for our leaders and our military, our police, firefighters, all those who work hard to keep us safe and healthy. Pray for "family doctors" today as well. Yesterday, for a while anyway, President Obama was in good hands. He went to visit the Reverends William (Billy) and Franklin Graham and spend some time with them. I just know seeds had to be planted... start praying for our president and pray hard for the seeds to take root.

Genesis 1:29/30 29 - Then God said: "I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground everything that has the breath of life in it I give every green plant for food." AND IT WAS SO!

This was one of the first promises that God made to man. During this week I want to talk about promises that God made and also bring up some that we made. Now we know that God has kept all of His promises, well with the exception of one, and we will learn about that one later in the week. How many times have you made a promise, and then think to yourself just how many have you broken. No I am not going to ask you to name all that you have broken, for if you are like me, you could not remember them all. For sadly I did not just break promises over the years that I made to man, I also broke some promises that I made to man in front of God as my witness, and yes, I even broke some that I made to God.

One of the first promises that God made to man was that He would furnish our needs, and we need food. Now we see here in Genesis how God set up a food system for us. Now while God did say He would supply our needs He did not say that we should not have to work for them. In fact, in fact God has said that if man WILL NOT WORK, he shall not eat. Now I am going to say this and please read it and reread it so you hear it the way I said it... We need to take care of and help all of those who because of illness or because of age (young or old) cannot take care of themselves, we have a whole lot of people who could be working and choose to do nothing and expect others to take care of them. I want you to think about that. For those who can work but do nothing are the ones who shall not eat. While we do not ask a lot of questions at our food pantry and we are just feeding the poor and needy and a lot of times that means the working poor, we work for God. All of us know people who just, and these are my words... "Ride the System", and some have been very good at it. In fact some have been known to have more children so they can get more system help and a lot of the time that help does not reach the ones who need it (the little ones) so that is why we take over and help.

So as we talk about promises this week, one of ours should be that we are going to help God take care of the needs of those who cannot take care of themselves.

Ok, now I must confess, what is the first promise I remember making and what was the first one I remember breaking? Yes mother, I will wash behind my ears, and I will brush my teeth. Up the stairs I went after making that promise to my dear late mamma and then would wet the wash rag as we called them and wet the tooth brush and go to bed. Did you brush your teeth? Yes I did, mamma, honest... Today I have dentures (the price of a broken promise?) Would you share your very first promise that you can remember, and the first one you broke?

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive me for all the times I broke a promise, be they big or small. And Lord, I look forward to Your help in helping others have their needs filled. Maybe I said that wrong, but I want to be Your helper, but I need Your help to do just that. Thanks for the good news on Ron and on Pam, and we are thankful also that no one was hurt in the fire at Larry More's home. Dear Lord, please keep your healing hand on Ron and his wife Donna and on Pam and take care of cancers. Heal in the name of Jesus, we ask. And Lord, please help the More family come up from the ashes and recover. Also be with our President and I pray for his soul and his salvation through You, dear Lord. I pray for our military, our police, firefighters and all others who work to keep us safe and healthy. I pray for family doctors and for my family doctor, Lawrence Cox, who loves You dearly. Also, Lord, be with Dolores and me today as we have tests done on our backs. Mine requires them putting dye in my spine, please, Lord, help it go well. Into Your hands I put us both for Your care and custody as we also place in those same hands, the More family, Ron and Donna, Vicki, Pam and the Saylor and Idler families. In Jesu's name, Amen.

Go forth now, sharing your blessings and helping others and making only promises that you can and will keep. Love ya, Pastor Dan

April 23, 2010 Feed My Sheep 5

"Simon, son of John, do you truly love me?"

Good working in the fields of harvest for Jesus, Friday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and a beauty at that. Wow. And it is the day we pray for all those who work the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus as ordered by Jesus and recorded in the book of Mark.

Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

Feed My Sheep 5: John 21:16 - Again Jesus said, "Simon, son of John, do you truly love me?" (NIV)

I have been asking all week, have you ever disowned our Lord Jesus? I also explained how, in my opinion, we could disown God by not saying it, but just by our works. While it is very true we cannot work our way into heaven, once we are saved we must work for our Lord Jesus. Faith without works is dead, folks. So today bear with me for a while as I make things a tad personal. Now look at this, please, as Jesus speaking out, for I am as always just a messenger.

Daniel Lehman, do you truly love me? Yes, Lord, I do now, but I confess I did not always show it and did not think much about it. Feed My Sheep and talk care of them.

Now it is your turn... Put your name in this spot.

John Doe, do you truly love me? Your answer goes here... Feed My Lambs.
Mary Smith, do you truly love me? Your answer goes here... Take care of My Sheep.
Pastors, do you truly love me? Your answer goes here... Feed My Sheep.

Brothers and sisters, it is so clear to me that Jesus was not just talking to Simon Peter here and that Simon Peter was for sure not the only one to disown our Lord Jesus back in those days and He knew of course that there would be others like you and me that would come along and in our lives struggle sometimes without faith, or just not think much about it. Now, you, I am sure, noticed that I put myself in that first slot today and then I put in John Doe for the men and Mary Smith for the ladies on the line, and then I put Pastors on a separate line. While they could have fit in with the men or with the ladies, I put them on a line all by theimselves. Why would I do that? Well, folks, Pastors, all of us, are responsible for our flocks. And while we are all responsible to feed God's lambs and His sheep and to take care of them, pastors, preachers, priests, etc. are held to a higher standard.

Maybe my question to the pastors, preachers, priests, or whatever the title the "person of the cloth" as we are sometimes called should have read more like this... Pastors, do you truly love me? (me meaning Jesus here, folks, as I am working out of the book of John where Jesus reinstates Peter.)

Pastors, do you truly love me? and the pastors should answer, Yes, Lord, you know I do. Then we might hear this from Jesus... Then feed my lambs and sheep and take care of them by teaching the complete truth, and not making it political. It might go on to say, Pastors, it is not ok to marry a man to a man and a woman to a woman.. It is not ok to support abortion... and it could go on and on and on from here... Pastors, teach people the truth and teach them about Salvation through Jesus and teach them how to work for Me after they come to me to be saved.

I pray that each and every person on this line or to whom these words fall into this week can truly say that they love Jesus and that they work to show it. Do you know the day might come when we might be arrested for being a Christian for following our Lord Jesus? If you were arrested for being a Christian, could they find enough evidence to convict you? Think about it. And pastors, please do not lead the flock God has trusted to you the wrong way. All of us, each and every one must learn to feed His lambs (God's small children), feed His sheep (still God's children, but His adult children) and to take care of His sheep, in other words, keep feeding them the truth. We need to do this more and more each day, folks. So let's get busy!! Busy doing what? you ask. Feeding each other. Have you been listening? And remember the Lost Sheep... The Lost Lamb... let's all remember to go after the ones who are lost.

Dear Father in Heaven, we want to repent of our sins and work for You feeding Your lambs and sheep. And yes, Lord, I can answer today that I do truly love You, more than all these things. However, Lord, please help me to stay on that path daily... In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Folks, have you heard the news? Franklin Graham, who was to be at the National Day of Prayer in Washington DC, has now been uninvited by our military (and you know who the commander in chief is) because he spoke out against the Muslim religion for their stance on women. Folks, cling to Jesus and hang in there and share His blessings. It could get rough before we get called home... be ready. Jesus loves You so much and I pray today that you truly love Him. I love you also... Pastor Dan.

April 21, 2010 Feed My Sheep 4

"Feed My Lambs!" "Take care of My sheep!" "Feed My sheep!"

Happy Family Day, my dear brothers and sisters. As you pray for families today, remember to pray for the family who lives in the White House, and pray first for salvation for them. Also, we have prayer requests for Barbara, who had a very bad fall and is afraid of infection. Also pray for Sharon, who had a stroke. There was no last name given for this lady, so let me tell all of you on the line it was not Sharon Ogden or Sharon Saylor, who I am sure would not get upset if you pray for them, but they are not the Sharon who had the stroke.

Feed My Sheep 4: We are looking today about how Jesus reinstated Peter. Yesterday we looked in the Book of Mark where it was recorded about how Peter had denied Jesus three times. Now let's get this straight today, this message is about us today, so let's get going on this... How many times have we denied or disowned Jesus? Now God has pointed out to me this week, and pointed it out in a big way, that we do not need to disown Jesus as Peter did and as it is recorded in Mark 14: 66/72. We do not need to say, I don't know this man, if someone would ask us, no, it gets deeper than that. How many times have you disowned or denied Jesus? Let me ask that again, How many times have you disowned or denied Jesus just this past month? Again I tell you that God laid this one on my heart and I am asking the questions about all of us, and us includes me!! Let me ask you this... Yesterday, did you share your blessings? Do you really and truly love your neighbors, even those who might not like you one little bit or even those who are of a different color? Do you love Jesus more than you love your spouse, your kids, your dog, even yourself?
How do we really disown our Lord Jesus? He has pointed out to me that we disown him by not living to please Him. Meaning, we disown Him each time we sin. Ouch, that one hurt, didn't it? Let's take a look at how He reinstated Peter, and we are going to do it today and tomorrow.
John 21: 15 - When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "You know that I love you." Jesus said "Feed My lambs." (NIV)

Now let's just take a look at this. "Do you truly love me more than these?" Who were these? Since Jesus was gathered with His disciples, I would think Jesus was asking if Peter loved Jesus more than those other disciples. Also, I would think that these would also mean the fishing gear of those earthly things of those days. What about the statement "Feed My Lambs?" A lamb is a baby sheep, so I am taking out of this that we are to be feeding children and I don't just mean seeing they have food to eat, and surely we need to work on that, but we are to feed the children by telling them about Jesus and His Love. "Feed My Lambs" - Do you help with vacation bible school at your church, do you help teach Sunday School? Do you work with children in any way and do you talk to them about Jesus? Brothers and sisters, this should start right in your own home. Talk to your little ones, be they your children, or your grandchildren, or even those great grandchildren... FEED THOSE LAMBS...

Tomorrow we are going to take care of the sheep... What does that mean? That is coming tomorrow.

Let's pray now.

Dear Father in Heaven, please help me get ready so that you will reinstate me. After reading this, and I know I love You and I know that I am saved as recorded in Your Word, but Lord, oh Lord, forgive me for I have indeed not always walked in Your light and I did not always feed Your Lambs and in that way I have denied You. I have also sinned and need Your forgiveness for those sins. Oh Lord, we think that we just disown You if we speak against You and now we know that is not the complete story. Lord, today we ask healing in families, that those who are walking different ways will get back and walk together under Your guidance. Lord, be with our President and I pray that He comes to You on bended knees and asks You into His life and that He brings all things to You before He brings it to the public. I pray for healing for Barbara, Sharon, Vicki, Dolores, and yes, Lord, touch my back also... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth walking with Jesus, sharing His blessings, and yes, by all means you can do it, Feed His Lambs... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 21, 2010 Feed My Sheep 2

"Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times!"

Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, come to Jesus to be saved... Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, Give your heart to Jesus and be saved... Yes, brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful day to be saved, and I pray you already are, but just in case you are not, or not sure, or have done a "walkabout", we are going to talk to God about this at the end of the message today. Salvation Wednesday started on this line about 15 years ago, and it is the day we pray to God to use us in those fields of harvest helping others to come to Jesus, and yes, working on our own souls. Dare I say this today? Each day of our life we should be working for Jesus and to come nearer and nearer to Him.

Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and has been risen from the dead and you will be saved. (DAN) In my words... Let's go to God now...

Dear Father in Heaven, I pray that all on this line are saved and I pray that all on this line will work to help others come to You to be saved, and I pray that they might even use these writings to help others. Lord, bless them and multiply them as they get forwarded along. Now Lord, may we confess our sins and clean up this day. Lord, help us to repent from our sins, and Lord wash us clean this day and save us. Help us to work for You each day of our lives and then when You call, please have our names in the book of Life so that we may enter Heaven. Lord, save us from ourselves this day and help us work for You... In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Feed My Sheep 2: Mark 14: 29 - Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not." 30 "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered. "Today, yes, tonight before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times." (NIV)

That is one place in our Bible where it is recorded that Peter will disown Jesus. Now let's look where it happened. I am going to paraphrase here; however, I invite you to read Mark 14:66/72 so that you know where I am coming from. This happened when Peter was in the courtyard. When a servant of the high priest came she saw Peter warming himself, she said, "You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus." BUT PETER DENIED IT (first time). Later the servant girl saw Peter again and said to others, "This fellow is one of them." AGAIN PETER DENIED IT" (second time). Then others standing near Peter said, "Surely you are one of them." Then Peter said this. Mark 14: 71 - He began to call down curses on himself, and he swore to them, "I don't know this man you're talking about!" (NIV) (third time) After that, that old rooster crowed. And then Peter remembered these words of Jesus... "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times!"

Let's look back over our lives and really look hard. How many times have we (you and me = we) disowned Jesus? We might not have spoken it like Peter did, however, have you ever heard this term - "Actions speak louder then words"? Again I am not going to make people happy here, but if we are not living for Jesus, then we are disowning Him. If you are not with Him, then surely you are against Him. Or are you trying to sit on the top of the fence or walk that white line? Ok, I think you follow what I am saying. Tomorrow we are going to look at how Peter was reinstated and we are going to put our feet in the shoes of Peter and we are going to work hard on getting reinstated.

Until tomorrow, please don't sit on the fence, get off and walk with Jesus, share your blessings and learn this... You can have as much if not more out and out fun with Jesus then you can by being on the other side. Did I say share your blessings? Yes, and I said it again and learn it is fun to share... love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 20, 2010 Feed My Sheep

"Do you truly love me more than these?"

When the sun in the morning peeks over the hill and kisses me at the Southern Location of the North Pole... Ok, so the song does not cut it, but the sun is peeking over the treetops and kissing my windows. And God sent it. God sent His Son and God sends the sun everyday. Ok, sometimes the clouds cover it, but like the Son of God, it is there all the time...

Hey it is Monday and Tuesday on the line today, sorry about yesterday, I went with Dolores for a doctor's appointment (this was the nerve doctor). He said her problems are coming from her back, so we learned nothing new yesterday. I am also having trouble sitting at the computer, or anyplace else, as my legs are going numb when I do. Ok, too much about us. A
gain, sorry about yesterday, and thanks to those who called to check on me. Your love, prayers and caring is APPRECIATED.

Monday is the day we pray for our leaders in Washington, in our state houses and in our local governments. It is also the day we pray for our veterans, our troops, our police and firefighters, our EMT's and all others who work on those ambulances that run the roads and fly the skies. As you pray, please pray first for Salvation. Tuesday is of course Schools day on the line so please cover our schools with prayer. And we have these folks on our prayer list... LeaAnne for doors to be opened at the mansion on the hill in Perry County... Also for Mary Beth's 102 year old mother who is in the hospital with pneumonia. And we pray for Jennifer as she starts her new job, and for Cindy who trains her.

John 21:15 - When they had finished eating Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" (NIV)

This week I am going to be talking about Peter being reinstated. You remember how Peter denied Jesus right before Jesus was put to death. In fact, Jesus told Peter that before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times. Here it is from the book of Mark:

Mark 14:27 - "You will all fall away," Jesus told them, "for it is written:" "'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered." 28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee." 29 Peter declared, "Even if all fall away I will not." 30 "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "Today, yes, tonight before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times. 31 But Peter insisted emphatically "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." and all the others said the same. (NIV)

Tomorrow I will point out in the Bible when Peter did disown Jesus, and then we will look at Peter being reinstated by Jesus. And Peter was given some chores when He was reinstated, and we will look at those. Now a tad of homework for you. I want you to look back in your lives and think about when you might have disowned Jesus, or walked away from Him, you know, did that back slide. And I think at one time or another we all have done a little sliding backwards. Maybe you were like me and were a lost son or maybe in your case it was a lost daughter. As we study together this week we are going to use a lot of scripture... and I have been praying more and more for Jesus to direct me to more scriptures on the subjects He gives me. It is so much fun working for Jesus and searching for the scriptures. It does take a lot of time, but hey, Jesus put a lot of time in me, and a lot of it was watching over me, when I did not care much about Him. Come on, think about it, and if you want to share your story with me, lay it on me. I love you folks and I love hearing from you. Ok, let's go out as we came in today with Jesus asking us this question...

"Do you truly love me more than these?"

Tomorrow we are going to also look at what "these" might be.

Dear Father in Heaven, thanks for the great start this morning, for that bright sunshine and for Jesus already talking to me. Lord, be with all those on our prayer lists, and Lord, help me get ready for this evening. Heal all those on the line and at the Bridges that need your healing hand on them. Lord Jesus, I want You to know that I love You, and Lord, through this line I want to work for You and get all to love You and come to You to be saved. Lord, help me share my blessings that come from You, for I believe that all blessings come from you... In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Go forth, my dear brothers and sisters, and share your blessings, and try hugging someone today. I want to tell you this right now... REAL CHRISTIAN MEN are not afraid to hug another man, this is sharing God's love and blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 16, 2010 Jesus and His Disciples 5

"Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Good Friday Mornin,g my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful day here in Central Pennsylvania. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those Warriors of God who are working in the fields of Harvest to "tell the good news" as ORDERED by our Lord Jesus.

Blessing Report, Blessings Report... Yesterday Carry The Light Ministries received a very large amount of canned goods, soups and veggies plus other food items. Thanks to Bread of Life Ministries, at the Newport Assembly of God for helping us... God is good.

Jesus and His Disciples 5: John 20:28 - Thomas said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (NIV)

As I put my feet into the shoes of the disciples today I wonder what it must have been like to run around with Jesus. I mean really run around with Him, watch Him in person touching people and making them whole, and taking small amounts of food and breaking it and feeding thousands with it... What it must have been like just hanging out with Jesus day after day... and then I really got to thinking. Gosh, Jesus is the same, we can do this today. We can hang with Jesus each hour of each day and we can talk to Him and He will listen and if we listen we will hear Him answer us. He is still making people whole, let's face it, brothers and sisters, till we are saved we are not whole, but once we are saved we are indeed whole. Forget your pain, your hurts and remember the bottom line is the Good News of our Lord Jesus. And the Good News is SALVATION THROUGH JESUS... Everything else He does is a bonus. You don't think God heals, tell me who heals a broken arm? Doctors can set it, but Jesus mends it. You fall and brush burn your arm, who heals it? Doctors do not grow that protective scab, Jesus does. And what about food? You think farmers do it all, don't get me wrong here, farmers are important, very important. I have friends who have a dairy farm, a big dairy farm, a really big dairy farm, I mean a really, really big dairy farm... They work hard, as all farmers do, and they milk those cows, but who, I ask, who made the cow and who put the milk machine in the cow? Let me see, most of us at one time or another planted a back yard garden, even if it is just tomatoes. You start a little seed in the house, it grows into a small plant, the plant grows bigger and bigger and we all look for that first tomato and then that plant puts out lots and lots of tomatoes. You planted it, you worked it, but who made it grow? And who hung the tomatoes on the vine? Well, it was the same man who "Hung the Moon" Jesus told Thomas. "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." And while we might not have seen His body, if we have not seen Him and what He is done, then we are still blind, and remember one of the things Jesus does is open the blind eyes...

Today I ask you, are you really walking with Jesus? Do you ever just talk to Him while you are doing other things? I mean it is great to stop and pray, get into some quiet area and get on your knees and just pray your heart out. But it is good to know and good to practice that you can talk to Jesus (no cell phone needed) anytime, anyplace. May I suggest that someday we have a put-down-the-cell-phone day and just talk to Jesus? Each time you would pick up that cell phone to write or talk, just hang up and talk to God. I have this thing I will say to Dolores when I see people talking on their cell phone while driving... Hang up and drive. I hate to be on the phone when driving. But I love talking to God. This morning I must go to the city and I will be talking to Jesus on the way. Keep me safe Jesus, and Lord, please have a parking meter open for me. Try it today, put your feet in the shoes of one of the disciples, yes one of the disciples of today and those shoes, why they should be yours because we are the disciples of today. And then let's walk with Jesus, all day, all things, let's talk to Him a lot. Discuss with Him what you are doing and why... Bring Him into the loop. You do have faith He is with You, right?

Dear Father in Heaven, let us walk with You and talk with You all day, everyday. We love You, and I know that You love us also. In fact Your love is so dear that You died for us. Thanks, Jesus. Lord, bless those on the road for You and working the fields of Harvest for You. And Lord, bless and heal those who worked for You and still do by praying for others, bless and heal Pastor Tony and Pastor Charles. Bless Tim and Larry as they shift gears in their walk in the fields for You. Lord the mission is still the same, the path is just different. Help them, Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen. And Lord, thanks for all that food yesterday, now bring in the hungry and needy to our doors and help us also to go and find them. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth and share your blessings and love Jesus more and more... remember, Lord willing, I am going to write a safety message for all drivers tomorrow. Love ya, Pastor Dan .

April 15, 2010 Jesus and His Disciples 4

"Peace be with you."

"Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop Doubting and believe."

Good Thursday, family day, tax day, morning to you... It is a beautiful day today here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Prayers today for all families, and be sure to pray for the family of God and also the family in the White House. Remember we need to pray for our President and we need to love him, even if we hate what he is doing to the United States and Israel!! Also folks, it is tax day, and I want to remind you that we are to give Caesar what is due Caesar and give God what is due God, and if we learn to give to God first... Also take all those legal deductions, we are to give Caesar what is due him, but we don't need to give him one dime more. AMEN! Pray also for safety in travel for "Spike" and his family.

Prayer request also for the family of "Shelby Brown". This young girl was killed in a traffic accident. Folks, it is the time of year when we lose a lot of our teens in traffic accidents. I want to try and write a safety message for all drivers over the weekend.

Jesus and His Disciples 4: John 20:26 - A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you" 27 Then He said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop Doubting and believe." (NIV)

Thomas was not with the other disciples on their first meeting with Jesus after He was risen from the dead, and when he was with them he, Thomas, was telling the others, "Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." I would think at this time the others were trying to tell Thomas how they had seen Jesus and Thomas was doubting them. I mean here are ten others that traveled with Thomas and Jesus and they were telling Thomas that "Jesus was alive." And Thomas, who knew all these men well, did not trust what they were saying.

Ok, now I ask you, do you believe that Jesus is alive? Let's face it, like Thomas, we have not seen Him and we even rely on the word of others who have also not seen Him, yet we believe, or at least I do and know most of you do. You were in church in front of your pastors, and I pray that you were there on Easter Sunday morning and you should have heard... HE'S ALIVE, HE'S ALIVE! If you were in church on Easter Sunday morning and did not hear that, YOU NEED A NEW CHURCH!!

I tell you that on Easter Sunday morning I preached with my feet off the ground most of the morning. So we need to have faith, but old doubting Thomas, as he has been nicknamed, since then came face to face with Jesus.

"Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop Doubting and believe." And I am telling any of you that doubts today to stop doubting that Jesus is alive and believe, for if you don't believe, listen to me here, I want to be very, very clear... If you doubt and don't believe that Jesus has been risen from the dead, YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!! I have never been one to try and soft soap this... May I repeat this... but first let me back it up with scripture.

Romans 10: 9/10 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess AND ARE SAVED. (NIV)

Now if we are saved we go to Heaven, and if we are not saved there is only one other place to go.

So let me repeat what I said... If you doubt and don't believe that Jesus has been risen from the dead, YOU ARE GOING TO HELL!! Anybody want to add an AMEN to my statement... Do you know besides those two words that scare so many, "Born Again", the other thing that scares some people is when a pastor tells someone that if they are not saved they will go to Hell.. Now don't look at this as me judging you, I am just stating the "rules" that I find in the Bible. Tomorrow we are going to find out another reason why we are blessed... Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, I don't have a doubt in my mind or heart that You are indeed alive, for I believe in the Word that I find in my Bible and I believe in a Risen Savior. Father, I know my God is alive, and today I just once again say thanks to Jesus for going to that cross for me, and to You, God, for raising Him from the dead. Lord, bless the families on this line, and if there are doubters, I pray that their minds are changed and please use us this day to help tell others that Jesus is Alive. And Lord, bless the families of all of our youth who are being killed this year in accidents. It seems that it happens each spring. Lord, plant a safety message on my mind, it is a long time since I wrote safety things. Lord, please grant traveling safety to "Spike" and his family. In Jesus name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings and telling others that Jesus is indeed alive and to stop doubting... Happy tax day. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 14, 2010 Jesus and His Disciples 3

And with that He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, a little fog this morning, and now the sun is breaking through that fog and it is beautiful. Today is Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday on this line, and the day we pray for the unsaved and for God to use us to bring them to His feet to be saved. Folks, we cannot save a soul, but we can tell people, even promise them, that if they take Jesus as their Savior and do this in faith, and then work for Him that they will be saved. You can make them that promise because God made it to us. Remember, there is more to it than just going to the altar in a church and saying forgive me Lord. You must do it in faith, not in the high of the moment and then you really need to talk to the pastors of that church or other believers and find out what you do next. YOU NEED TO FOLLOW UP ON this, the first step of Salvation.

Remember "Baby Allie" that we have prayed and prayed for? Well she has a website and I just received it today from her dad and mother. I have not visited it yet. Here is just how I received it..
.

Hey Dan, I am finally getting around to providing the link to Ali's care page, it was created on care pages .com. go to www.carepages.com register on the site and when you are prompted enter the name Alisandra Orner, this should get you access to her page.Bev keeps it updated on a regular basis. Jim Orner

Jesus and His Disciples 3: John 20:22 - And with that He breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit" 23 "If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." (NIV)

Remember, folks, we are in the shoes of the disciples today, and more than likely there are not just 11 of us but many other disciples also. Here we find the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit by breathing on us. Do you remember how Jesus received the Holy Spirit?

Luke 3:22 - And the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from Heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." (NIV)

Now I want to go back to the beginning and connect a little bit of that breathing on us. Does it sound like something you remember? Do you remember how God formed Adam?

Genesis 2:7 - The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and BREATHED into his nostrils the BREATH of life and the man became a living being. (NIV)

So now we find Jesus breathing on the disciples and telling them "Receive the Holy Spirit." So let's fast forward a bit, and we know that Jesus left the comforter, the Holy Spirit, with us, but how do we receive it? We receive the Holy Spirit when we are born again, and I am not talking here about the gift of speaking in tongues, I am talking about receiving the Holy Spirit when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit by receiving Christ as our Savior, yes, when we are born again. I hope this is coming through to you loud and clear. Sometimes I have a little trouble putting it into words as I sit and follow what Jesus plants on my mind. Did you notice that man received life with the breath of God, and He also received the Holy Spirit by the breath of Jesus? I love this, never looked at it like this before.

Now you think I am getting you confused, let's look at that next part of our scripture of today.

Luke 20:23 23 - "If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." (NIV)

This is tough, and I am running late this morning because I am doing research in the Bible and weighing each word, again, God gave me a tough one today. Let's look at this part of our Lord's prayer, the prayer Jesus taught us to pray... "Forgive us our sins "debts, trespasses", as we forgive those who sin "debts, trespasses" against us". For us to be forgiven of our sins, we first must forgive others who have done us wrong. See the big words in this are AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS.

God does not forgive people sins because we do, but He does forgive our sins as we forgive others and since that goes for everyone in the world, it ties together. Am I making it clear? If someone comes to you and asks for you to forgive them and you do not, then they are not forgiven by us, and folks that is on us. The other person has done their job. If we go to someone and say, please forgive me and they don't and we ask them from the bottom of our hearts, not just made words, then that is on them. See, God sorts all of this out, that is why He is God and He knows each one of our hearts. Note on this one that God does not say, If you forgive them, I will also forgive them because you forgave them. Maybe this helps clear it more. If someone asks us to forgive them, and we forgive them, God forgives them also of the sin they did against us. But let's say that we don't forgive them, well first of all, then we are in trouble with God on that one, because we need to forgive as we want to be forgiven, again the Lord's prayer. But if we don't forgive them, then they need to go to God and talk to Him. God, I went to so and so and asked to be forgiven, but they would not forgive me, so I ask you to forgive me and intercede with them... And God will sort it all out. Are you glad you are not God? Gosh, you think we have hard work!

You know there are times when things are hard to explain and we just need to have faith in God and know He understands our hearts. Maybe today is one of those days where you are going to say, I think I know what this old pastor is talking about, but I am sure God knows and will sort it all out. Tomorrow we will take a look at Thomas as we talk more on Jesus and His Disciples.

Dear Lord, please open minds for this message, I am not sure I got it right for you today. But Lord, I sure did try. Lord, thanks for taking care of Baby Allie and thanks for all you do for those on this line. Thanks for blessing the food pantry and all who bring in and all who receive. Lord, help us this day lead the unsaved to Your feet, and Lord, let us renew now. Lord, forgive me of my sins, and Lord, help me repent and walk daily with You and to work with and for You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Go forth now and share your blessings... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 13, 2010 Jesus and His Disciples 2

"Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."

Good Schools Day Tuesday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, what a great start to a day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Yes, it is ALWAYS a great day when you can rise up and go to work for God. So I know you have risen up today if you are reading this. My question is, are you working for God? Remember today to pray for our schools, all of them, and the ones that I think need the most prayers are our schools of higher education. Also Vicki has had a few setbacks, so please keep her in your prayers. Also pray for "Tim" for health healing (no last name given, and it is not Courier singer Tim Beitzel); however, he would welcome your prayers also as he is working on schooling to become an Assembly of God pastor. Also pray for the Saylor Family and pray for Brotherhood Native American Outreach...

Jesus and His Disciples 2: John 20:21 - Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." (NIV) NIV=New International Version of the Bible!

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (NIV)

Ok, it is time I straighten out something, for I did find one thing that would be different about Jesus... The Bible tells us He is the same today as He was yesterday, but He is a tad different from when He started His ministry and when He was risen from the dead... He has nail scars in His hands and feet and He has a scar and hole in His side. The scripture tells us that Jesus never changes, and that is fact, He never ever changes in the way He deals with us. I am looking forward to seeing Jesus face to face. Let's face it, folks, we have a vision in our minds what He looks like, we have seen paintings and I would think we might all envision His looks a little different, but it is what He is when we have in Him in our hearts when we invite Him in to our lives. When we bring Him into our homes and when we walk with Him daily, that is so important. I like to picture Jesus holding the lamb, for I picture me in His arms as that lost sheep. I also like to picture Him leaning on the rock and praying the night before He was put to death. I picture Him also standing at the door and knocking. I picture Him giving out food, and healing others. And yes, I picture Him holding me up on many, many days. Today I am sure will be another one of them. God is Good! How do you picture Jesus? Sometimes I picture Him on the cross, and the blood running out... That blood was shed for us, folks... again, how do you picture Jesus?

Wow, I got off my subject some today, so let me jump back for just a minute... "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." Folks, I want you to think about this till tomorrow, what does it really mean to you? You see to me it means... Oh, I guess you will need to wait till tomorrow.

Dear Father in Heaven, Please know that I appreciate You waking me this day and that You gave me a message to send. I seem to have drifted some, but Lord, I pray I am doing what You want me to do as I listen to my heart. Bless this message today, Lord. Today I picture You with Your hands around me helping me. Oh Lord, how I love You. Lord, be with those on the prayer line and help those on our prayer list, and yes, Lord, go to those schools and bless them, please Lord, pay no attention to those who don't want You in our schools for we indeed want You there. Now help us this day in all we do, and may we do it for you. Please, help us repent from our sins and forgive us please of those of yesterday and even this morning. In the name of Jesus, I pray... Amen, and Jesus, "I love You".

Now go forth loving on Jesus and walking with Him and sharing His love and your other blessings with others... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 12, 2010 Jesus and His Disciples

"Peace be with you."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. What a great morning after a really great weekend. GOD IS GOOD! ALL THE TIME!! AMEN!!!

Monday. and the day we pray for our leaders, our veterans, our troops, firefighters, Police, Emergency Medical People on the road and in the air and all others who work hard to keep us safe. Please remember to pray for the forgotten branch of our service, the Merchant Marines, these men and women get the supplies out to our troops. Also pray for the parents and grandparents of the three small children killed in an accident on Saturday evening. Also the firefighters and medical people on call that night who said it was very hard on them seeing these tiny ones killed.

Jesus and His Disciples: Luke 24:36 - While they were still talking about this, Jesus Himself stood among them and said to them. "Peace be with you." (NIV)

Do you remember last week as I asked you to put your feet in the shoes of one of those walking the road to Emmaus, and I would put my feet in the shoes of the other? Well, this week we are going back into the shoes again, this week the shoes will not be as tight as we will be in eleven pairs of shoes, eleven because one was gone. Which one? Do you know? More than likely there would be more disciples.

Ok, on the evening of that first day of the week we find ourselves (remember, we are the disciples now) and we are sitting behind locked doors as we have fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came and stood among us. Let me get the record clear on something as I start today... God pointed this out to me... Last week I said again as I often do that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever... and I said He would even look the same. Well, almost, anyway. What is different now than before? Be with me this week and we will find it out. Do you know what it might be? This week we will be working out of Luke 24:36/39 and John 20:19/31, and may I suggest that you just might read this and see if you can find the answer to my question.

Ok, so we are in this room and all at once our Lord Jesus is standing with us. What would go through our minds? Remember this is the first time we are seeing Him. Would we be like the disciples as listed in the Bible, would we think Jesus was a ghost? Ok, here comes a play on words... God the Father, God the Son, God the "HOLY GHOST"! Now, folks, I know this is not the ghost that they were thinking, but I just wanted to remind you here about the Holy Spirit, or as we also know this comforter that is with us daily, the Holy Ghost. Ok, we are sitting around talking when Jesus appears. Let's drop it here for today and let you do some thinking... What are we talking about? How is Jesus now different? Let's pray today.

Dear Father in Heaven, You are indeed alive, alive and well and living within those of us who will let You in. I pray that you use us this day to work Your fields. Oh yes, Lord, we pray that way on Fridays, but the truth is, Lord, we need to work for You daily. Help us repent this day, and to work for You. Bless those on our prayer lists today, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, walking in the light of Jesus, hanging onto Him and repenting of your sins, and yes, of course, sharing your blessings. Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 9, 2010 On The Road Again 4

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Another beautiful morning at our beloved home here in Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, Pa. Yes, spring is back, and it is so neat to see how God works things. Yesterday afternoon just before the sun set a storm went through and then the rainbows appeared in the sky... Oh yes, a double rainbow. Do we need reminded why the rainbow was there? God last night reminded Himself not to destroy this earth with water. A rainbow is God's sign, it does not BELONG TO THE GAY COMMUNITY!!

Today is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working in the fields of harvest for our Lord Jesus, and that should be all of us.

On The Road Again 4: John 14:6 - "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)

Roman 10: 9/10 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (NIV)

John 3:3 - In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless He is born again." (NIV)

John 3:5 - Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. (NIV)

Yesterday I closed with these words. "Ok, enough for today, tomorrow a little more as we go "On The Road Again" and find in the Bible how to overcome blindness. Can you tell me some verses where it shows us how to overcome blindness? Let's see if we are thinking the same." I did not receive any so far...

Above I have listed just a very, very few scriptures that will help you overcome the blindness that we were talking about. In John 3:3 we see those two scary words... "Born Again". Have you ever had someone come to you saying they are a Christian and asking you, "Are you one of those "Born Again" Christians? If you have a person who is serious about that statement and asking you because they think they can be a Christian without being Born Again, THEY ARE STILL BLIND. You see, my brothers and sisters, it is learning the word of God... being Born Again, confessing to God through Jesus Christ, that we are able to see. Oh, and The Word of God... listen to this.

John 1:1 - In the beginning was The Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. (NIV)

John 1:14 - The Word became Flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the Glory of the One and Only, who came from The Father, full of grace and truth. (NIV)

Let me ask you, are you a person who, like me, wears glasses? Or maybe you have those contact lenses. When you get your new glasses you can see so much better, but if you do not know Jesus you are still blind. Now look at this example... You got those new glasses and you can see well, but you don't put them on... Are you not still blind, or should I say maybe only seeing half of what you should? If you have a Bible and are not using it to read the word, are you not like a person who has glasses and will not put them on? You need to be born again. You need to put those glasses on and keep them on. The Bible tells us that once Jesus has us He will never let us go; however, I think once in a while we slip and slide backwards instead of advancing forward.

Are we truly "Born Again" or did we not make that big jump yet? Are you a so called Christian who really is scared about those words "Born Again"? Folks, next week we are going to move forward off of this subject and press on with our Risen Savior. But on Monday I want to tackle some more on these two very scary words... "BORN AGAIN".

Dear Father in Heaven. Please help us this day to get the unsaved to Your feet so that they may be Born Again. Help us each day to repent and walk with You. Thanks for everything we have... In Jesus name, Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings and loving God and one another... love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 8, 2010 On The Road Again 3

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Thursday and I do really hate to sound like a broken record but it is another just beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. We were over 90 yesterday in the shade in our back yard yesterday. (Eat your heart out, Bobbie! Bobbie is a lady I went to high school with who is on the line and lives in the sunny south.) Outside my back window as I look east toward the sunrise I am looking right through our Japanese Ornamental Cherry Tree which just seems to come out overnight. Our other flowering trees are in full bloom. I sure wish I could take a picture of it and send it to all to see. WE ARE ALL SO BLESSED...

Today is Thursday and it is family day on the line so please remember to pray for families and remember these families... The Family of God, the President and his family, and please when praying for them pray that they find Jesus and become saved. Oh, am I judging, no, just using my brain. Please pray also for the Saylor Family, Idler Family, Pastor Tony, Ruby and family... Allison and her family. And yesterday I received a prayer request to pray for a one year old baby boy... Memphis Lewis is in the Hershey Medical and I was told in bad shape due to pneumonia and complications of that. While we are talking Hershey Medical, please pray for all children in their children's hospital. They work a lot with children with cancer.

On The Road Again 4: Luke 24:29 - But they urged Him strongly, "stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over." So He went to stay with them. 30 When He was at the table with them, He took bread, and gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him and He disappeared from their sight. (NIV)

Ok, back into the shoes of those two men walking along the road to Emmaus. Remember I was in one set of shoes and you were in the other? (Crowded shoes, right?) We pick up our story as night closes in and we still have no idea who this third dude is that joined us walking along... We had just invited this guy to spend the night with us. So we stop and the three of us sit down to, well, to break bread together. Now let me point out right here where the statement of sitting down and breaking bread came from... I wonder, do those who do not believe in God use that saying? Do they have any idea that it CAME FROM THE BIBLE? Sometime when we are out with someone we think does not believe we should say to them... "Do you want to stop and break some bread together?" Then as you eat, tell them the statement came from the Bible. Ok, moving on... The three of us, the up-to-now stranger, and you and me. Maybe we are still talking about the events of the day, remember it is still the day Jesus was risen from the dead. We might, as a lot of people do, talk about the weather.

I speak up and say something like this, boy I am tired, my feet are killing me, I will be glad to get into the sack and rest my weary body. You agree, saying something like this... Yes, it has been a long day and a long walk, but the weather was really nice, but it sure was hot. Do you think we should turn on the AC? (Just kidding about that one.) So we are making small talk around the table when the stranger picks up the bread and breaks it and gives thanks. Now look what happens next, and it is very important. Up till now we had no idea who this stranger was, we were walking and talking with this man...

Luke 24:31 31 - Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him and He disappeared from their sight. (NIV)

Notice that their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus. This stranger then became very clear to us... OUR EYES WERE OPENED. Notice that Jesus did not change from one person to another, His looks were the same. Remember that is in scripture also... He never changes. Let me review that scripture, as it is so important right here...

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. (NIV)

I want to point that out for Jesus never changes and that to me means not just His actions but also His deeds and His looks. We are the ones who changed. Now for sure we remember the stories in the Bible about how Jesus healed the blind eyes. You remember them, how in one case He had to do it twice for the first time the person saw people as trees walking. But I want to point out that this is really what scripture means. You see we so often only think of the blind person, meaning one with that cane and seeing eye dog, having their eyes opened. While Jesus surely still heals the eyes of the blind often through the hands of doctors, and heals the eyes of the almost blind and again often through the hands of doctors (example, Joe Pa. Penn State football coach and Katherine Idler, Pastor Charles wonderful wife) but the real, very real part is how He heals those blind eyes that cannot see Him. Notice that please because that is one of the real messages of this trip to Emmaus to me. I mean it was about showing others that He truly was risen, that Jesus overcame death and the grave, but as in all scriptures there are many more messages. Yes, we see here as proof that Jesus is risen, but we could not see it till Jesus opened our eyes to see it.

Today, where do you stand, are your eyes open or are they blind? Can you see Jesus? Remember to have Jesus in your heart is to see Him and know Him. If today we, you and me, were walking along the road, let's say we were just walking along the road to Harrisburg, Pa. (hey I am writing, I pick the town) and we were walking along the road (facing traffic of course) and we come along a man walking along the road and let's say it was Jesus, would we know Him? Now I said let's say it was Jesus because you and I also know that when He comes again He will not be walking along the road, He is going to meet us in the sky... ah, that is if we have our eyes open and are not blind to Him.

Ok, enough for today, tomorrow a little more as we go "On The Road Again" and find in the Bible how to overcome blindness. Can you tell me some verses where it shows us how to overcome blindness? Let's see if we are thinking the same.

Dear Lord, open our eyes on this family day, touch families on the line and elsewhere, touching first the family of God, and opening up the doors for us to help more and more people to join this family of Yours. Use us, dear Lord. Bless our president and I pray, I pray for his soul and for the soul of each one in his family. Thanks for the messages, Lord, open now the eyes of those reading, help them understand when I type words wrong, what they mean. Help me learn how to spell and type better and better... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings, something I am going to remind you of each day I write. Or have you noticed that already? Share them in faith and surely you will receive more. Gosh, I have received two big blessings already this morning and I am not even keeping score. One, I woke up, and two, so did Dolores. Now go forth loving and sharing love... love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 6, 2010 "On The Road Again"

"What are you discussing together as you walk along?"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and that means it is schools day on the line... Please pray for our schools, public, private, all schools, and all grades, even the schools of higher education. Do our schools and kids need prayers? YES! I am sure by now you have heard about the 17 year old senior who was the football star at his school. He had been awarded a free ride to one of the major schools of higher education. He went to spring break last week, and fell from the hotel balcony to his death. The reports say he was very intoxicated. While we do need to pray for the family of this teenager, we also really need to work harder to get the word out about drinking. In our area over the Easter weekend we have had several teens die in auto accidents. Folks, the police are trying to find who supplied the teen the booze. While they need to do that, we need to teach our kids that things happen when they drink, and it happens over and over again each spring and it is they who put the trash in their bodies, not the supplier. Schools are chopping subjects because of budgets, one that is being hit hard is driver education. Seems to me we need to be teaching our children how to live, how NOT to drink, and how to drive, and maybe if things need cut we can stop building those sprawling schools which now in most part have AC. Maybe the football players could play on real grass, not that fake stuff. And the running tracks could be back to the old ash type instead of rubber, and do we really need swimming pools in our schools? But then what do I know? We all know that football, track, swimming, etc., are so much more important than drivers education, history, physical education, math, English, and the Bible in our schools, RIGHT?? I do know this... we need to pray for our schools and all that go through the doors, and brothers and sisters, please pray for the safety of our "kids", God's Children...

Also please pray this day for Charles and also Janet for back problems, I also had some other requests and I misplaced my lists... I claim old age!!

"On The Road Again": Luke 24:13 - Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 But they were kept from recognizing Him. 17 He ask them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?" (NIV)

Picture yourself now as one of those two walking along this road to Emmaus. This was on the same day that the tomb had been found empty. The word of course had spread and these guys, more than likely best friends, were walking along and talking about the events.

Today I am going to put my feet in the shoes of one of those guys and put the feet of a dear friend in the other shoes. Since I have lots of dear friends, all of you can slip into that second set of shoes. Ok, we are walking along, the Bible tells us it is about a seven mile walk. We are not doing a fast walk, we are just chatting as friends might, we are talking about the happenings in our life and of that day... Hi, how are you this morning?. I am fine, never better in fact! How are you doing? Hey I am just doing wonderful today... Did you hear about what people are saying about Jesus? You do know of Him right? Sure I know of Him, I heard that some ladies went to the tomb this morning and found it empty, the stone had been moved and the body of Jesus was gone! Yes I heard that also, I wonder who stole it and what would they want with His body. I don't really know, but those ladies said that Angels met them at the tomb and asked why they were looking for the living in a grave where the dead belong. So we walk along some more, sometimes talking, other times just thinking to ourselves as we walk. What do you think? Do you think someone took the body or do you think what those ladies are saying is really true? I don't know what to think right now, but you know Jesus was a really powerful person. I mean we were told He was the Son of God and Son of man. Gosh, I heard He was even born to a virgin mother... You know I heard nothing but good about Jesus, I wonder what made those people so mad that they killed him.

Maybe those men talked about other things as they walked along, remember that we have instant news today and lots to talk about, but back then things traveled by word of mouth. If you did not see the event, you more than likely found out about the event from someone who did see it. I mean there was no kid on the corner yelling Extra, Extra, read all about it! Or someone telling you that this news is fair and balanced! Thank God we had people back then who sat down and hand wrote the events that are recorded in our Bibles.

Let's get back to my friend and me walking along... All of a sudden, and it seems like He just appeared, there was another man walking with us. Who was He and what did He say to us? And why did we not know who He was? Oh, see you tomorrow as we get "On The Road Again".

Dear Father in Heaven, please be with those families who have lost loved ones in the mines in West Virginia, and also in Russia. Be down in the mines with those who might still be alive and keep them alive please. Please watch over those rescue workers. Lord, be in our schools and with all who enter the doors. Lord, bless those, and Lord, watch over our teens as they try and mix those drugs and booze with parties and driving. Lord, help them learn that with Jesus, with Jesus, we can have more fun than with the bottle, and help us to get that word to them. Lord, please touch the backs of Charles, Janet, and also my dear wife, and yes, Lord, also me. And Lord, I was given some names to pray for and I misplaced the lists. I am sorry, but I am sure you know them... Forgive me when I fail You, dear Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forward and share your blessings with others, and remember that your very blessed blessing is the love of Jesus, please remember to share Jesus... HE IS AFTER ALL ALIVE... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

April 5, 2010 Greedy or Eager?

Be Shepherds of God's flock that is under your care.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful morning at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and about yesterday, I mean Easter is always perfect for what Christ did for us, and yesterday here in Central Pennsylvania God added His blessings for a perfect day with perfect weather. Gosh, it is Monday again, and I would have loved to top the weekend off by going to our little vacation spot, the Strasburg Railroad today, for it is a day the Amish come and if you want to see beautiful young families, wow....

Today being Monday we pray for our leaders, our president, all others who have authority over us. It is also the day we pray for all those who help keep us safe and healthy as in our Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, also our Police, Firefighters, and those medical workers on the ambulances, in the planes, and in the Emergency Rooms, and also let's today remember our family doctors in prayer. My family doctor, Dr. Lawrence Cox, DO, and my pain doctor, Dr. Jean Santo, MD, always, without fail, pray with us before we leave their office. And in the office of Dr. Cox you always hear worship music being played... ALWAYS.

GREEDY OR EAGER? 1 Peter 5:1 - To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve. (NIV)

Wow, Easter, what a great day of blessings. I was up early and visited a local church just down from our home for a "Sunrise Service". I was invited to stay for breakfast and turned that down as I had to get on to the Bridges to preach. It was indeed a beautiful day. I got a tad excited yesterday in church (The Bridges). It seems that my feet left the ground when the service started and did not touch down much till it was over. Ok, I was more than a tad excited. I mean after all we were celebrating Easter, we were celebrating our RISEN SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST... Today I want to look back at a few things I noticed about Easter and some of the events leading up to it.

Our local paper on Sunday (Sunday Patriot-News) headlined with this... "Passing the plate". It talked about the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey (which by the way does preach and teach the word of God) but the message that came out of the interview with the news by Dave Sheppard, the Church's chief of staff, was about money! He was quoted as saying about money that "we were $140,000 dollars short." The article went on to say about "Houses of worship around the mid-state will likely be filled today for Easter, which, like Christmas, usually brings families who don't attend every Sunday." "Church leaders are undoubtedly hoping the offering plates are filled today as well."

The news story went on to say about how giving was down over the year and as I read deeper and deeper into the story it just would talk about more and more dollars. The West Shore Free Church laid off three pastors and cut hours on most of the staff. God provided, said the Rev. John Nesbitt, the church's executive pastor. "Like everybody else we have a new normal." And so it goes... The only church that was interviewed that said the dollars were still coming in was the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg, where it was stable.

As I read the stories of the different churches one thing that I did notice, the interviews were from the big churches, Hershey and West Shore Free Churches, Christian Life Assembly and Christ Community. But what was missing in the story... God was missing. While I know the story was about money, it sure would have been nice to see the story being about what Christmas and Easter is about, which is Jesus, and that is who the churches should be about. Are these big churches being good with God's money? Some of these churches put on wonderful plays, big professional musicals at Christmas and Easter and they charge people to get in. While the cost is not much, I have trouble thinking I must pay for a seat at a church where I was a member. What happened to the cheerful giver that Jesus talked about?

Are some of these big churches in competition with others? Sure they are, they might not tell you that, but they are. The new churches are being built with all the lights and sound equipment of theaters and is that their business or is it getting out the word of God? There is a fine line on this.

What happens when greed hits our churches? Go to the big churches in our cities and see what has happened to most of them, they have been boarded up, fallen down, burnt, EXCEPT FOR A FEW, where small flocks have come back and then invited in the Lord and started to grow again. From out of the fires and ashes some came back. In the city it seems as neighborhoods changed the churches did not, new folks were not invited in. Some churches forgot to preach THE WORD and just went after the dollars, and some churches still do just that. THOSE CHURCHES THAT ARE ABOUT MONEY, IF THEY DON'T PREACH THE WORD THEY ALSO WILL FAIL. Don't get me wrong, it takes dollars to run the church, after all it is a business.

I guess what I am trying to say here, it is time to get back to what Jesus wants us to talk about. He wants us to talk about THE GOOD NEWS. And I think He wants the churches to keep their dollars in line also. After my close I want you to see the Easter announcement from the Glendale Church of God just outside of Marysville where Salvation is ALWAYS on the menu. It does not talk once about the collection plate. Oh yes, they have a budget also, but it is not the headliner of the church, Christ is.

All ministries need dollars to go forth, which one should you support? You need to support God's work. My answer is the ones who you believe in your heart are working best for God.

Dear God, you gave me a hard one this morning, thanks for the message, Lord. I love You. Lord, please look over our prayer requests and act according to Your will for us. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, sharing your blessings and loving on God and each other... Love ya, Pastor Dan.

Below from Pastor Larry Hale, who I DID NOT contact about using this... It was in my mailbox on Saturday. Again, it is a good way to do it!

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY! It's EASTER and we are going to celebrate our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Be in prayer for our Resurrection Day Celebration Service.

This is the best time of the year to invite a person to come to church with you. Christmas and Easter are the two main events when people are open to attending church, so all you need to do is ASK.

Last month's services were all leading up to this awesome event. We pray that tomorrow we will ALL be drawn closer to the Lord, that SOME will return to fellowship with Christ and that SOME will invite the Lord into their lives for the Very First Time.
