Monday: Pack and Run

Onward, Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on Before.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington and in our State Houses across this great Nation. It is also the day we pray for our veterans, our military, our police and firefighters. Please pray for the families of those 4 police officers that were shot down in a coffee shop in Washington State yesterday. All dead folks, as they had coffee before they went on duty. Was it a terrorist attack? I think so and do not know any more details than I just gave you. Think about this, would it be if it was your family member? Please pray today for hunters as they take to the woods. Pray that they remember that the deer have four legs and the hunters have two (not a joke, folks).

Pack and Run: Recently in the town of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the powers that be decided to move the Nativity from the town square because the atheists wanted to put up their bush or whatever they put up. So it seems that it would be best to not share the square with others since the Nativity was there for as long as most are old. So they packed it up and did something with it, I don't know what, maybe moved it to a church or just packed it up and put it away.

Seems we Christians do a lot of those things... When the heat comes on we seem to pack it up and run.

Onward, Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on Before. That is the refrain from the old hymn Onward, Christians Soldiers. Folks, we should be marching forward, not retreating. Remember that our Bible quotes Jesus in Mark 16:15 - He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (NIV)

It seems the Christian has the reputation in a lot of cases of stepping on the wounded. Yes, when one of us falls down, slips and sins, others come out and STEP ON THEM. You know, it goes like this and I will put my name in the catbird seat... Did you hear about Dan, why it did, and then on and on it goes. What should be done, it should go like this... Hey Dan, (one on one here) I heard that you ------------, how can I help you? You stopped going to church, how about coming along with me this Sunday?

Brothers and sisters we are to be moving forward, with the cross of Jesus. Now let me go back to Chambersburg for a minute. So what if those workers of Satan moved in that hate bush or whatever it is next to the area where the birth of Jesus is told in the Nativity. So what? If we are rock solid in our relationship with Jesus. we are not going to walk from Jesus to Satan, but maybe, just maybe those coming to see what the followers of nothing put up just might walk to the Manger and get touched, maybe even a worker of Jesus might be there to talk to them. Do you see what I am saying? Here is another example... We complain that we cannot pray before a football game at a school. Why not just one Christian standing up and start praying the Lord Prayer and seeing how many others just might join in... IT IS TIME WE STAND AND NOT PACK AND RUN... did I hear an AMEN?

Dear Father in Heaven, it is time we plant our feet on solid ground and stand firm and when we move, move forward into Your fields to get Your work done. Help us with that, Lord. Be with our hunters in the fields, with those who are in our military and also our veterans. Be with the families of those police officers who were shot and killed, and, Lord, be with our President, I pray first for His soul and then ,Lord, for Him to come to You with this Nation's business instead of to Acorn... In the name of Jesus I pray... Amen.

In closing, let me share this. Last night I was honored to go up on a stage and sing with Dave, Duane and Neil, the Original Couriers. I was humbled, and Dolores played the piano for us. Were we blessed or what? Now go forth sharing your blessings. Love ya, dan.

Black Friday 2009

Come before His presence with singing!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Prayers today for the Steel family in the passing of James, father, husband and also a dear friend of mine. Jim worked for me at Central Dauphin School District and also drove our personal rollback in Christmas parades.

Black Friday: Psalm 100:1 -,Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. (KJV)

This morning on the early news that showed hundreds of people lined up at a Target store here in Central Pennsylvania. Some of these folks had camped out all night to be first in line for the bargain presents for their children. All the time the news guy was telling us how bad things were.

Let me tell you just how bad things are. Someday there will be a real black day for some, and that is the day when the trumpet sounds and our Father in Heaven sends Jesus back for us who believe and have faith. I am sure that every pastor on this line and all of those who preach THE REAL TRUTH would love to see people camping out on Saturday night just to get in and get a front seat on Sunday Morning. I am telling you right now if people knew that Jesus was coming back say next Monday, there would be a line up at the churches for that last Sunday. But think of this, how many folks know so little that they would be lined up at the churches that don't preach the truth? They would be lined up at churches that teach about what I call "feel good religion".

Folks, since we do not know when our Lord Jesus is coming back, why not, why not, WHY NOT form that line this Sunday at churches that preach the truth? Why wait? In fact, in all reality if you do not have Jesus in your heart right now you should not wait one more minute for if Jesus would return right now, you would for sure have that black Friday. Or maybe I should really tell it like that is... a FIRE RED day. Folks, there is nothing wrong with shopping and the line ups and all the fun of Christmas, for it sure brings out the dollars and that makes for jobs and keeps our country moving. In fact I believe it is just one way that God has His hand on the economy. I am sure some will disagree with me on that...

Please, folks, as you shop till you drop to share your blessings also. Remember those men and women ringing the bells for Salvation Army. Drop in a five... and remember also the food pantries... and please remember this... People who are really needy, need food more than toys, and they are hungry 365 days a year, not just on Thanksgiving and Christmas days. I eat everyday, and so do most others, but some have none and we need to help them.

Dear Father in Heaven, Cover us today with the blood Of Jesus, and forgive our sins, my sins Lord, have me ready for the day that will be black for some, but not for me... I want to be in the clouds with You... In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Go forth sharing your blessings... love ya, dan.

Thanksgiving Eve. 2009

Is any one of you sick?

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Happy Thanksgiving Eve, and may I give you this advice as you travel this weekend, be it to the malls or across town or across the state and beyond. First pray and then after praying HANG UP THE PHONE and drive, keeping your mind on the driving. Pass that phone off to another or TURN IT OFF. And all the really good safe drivers said... AMEN.

Are you ready with a drop of oil and your juice and bread? Let's get started.

Thanksgiving Eve. 2009: James 5:13 - Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. (NIV)

Dear brothers and sisters, this is the scripture where I have been given the authority for the anointing of oil and the prayers for healing. But let me get it straight, as a worker for the Lord, I feel, and this is my opinion, when working for the Lord, you are a member, a working member, of the Church of Christ, The Church of God, and I am not talking denomination here, folks, I am talking the church of our Lord Jesus. The one we must be part of to make it to Heaven. You have the ability and the knowledge and, yes, the Lord's blessings to pray for others when it comes to all things in the Bible. Praying for others is not just for Pastors and elders of your local church. Read Mark 16:15 where we are ORDERED into the fields of harvest. Ok, so let's get started with the anointing part of this message today. First you and only you know of all your sins as I am sure that I am the only one that knows all of my sins except for our Lord Jesus, of course. He knows us all, folks, and that should scare the britches right off of us. This for today is the healing that I am going to today, the healing of our sinful souls and minds. Once we get the sins out of the way, once we get that trash off of our backs, our minds, and our hearts, we will move on to the healing of our bodies. Now folks, as always, we must do it in faith, let me repeat it, we must do this in faith. Let's pray, and this is an I prayer, not a we prayer...

Dear Father in Heaven, Thanks for this day and right now Lord I ask that You forgive me of my sins. I know that You are aware of each one of them and I ask that right now You wash me clean with the Blood of Jesus. Thank You Lord for doing this... In Jesus Name I pray... Amen.

Now brothers and sisters with that drop of oil, please put a cross right on your forehead and pray these words... I am doing this in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit... Amen

Now folks in the same way I want you now to go to our Lord Jesus, and please if you do not have the faith that God will heal you, then why pray? It is time to ask God, while you are clean of sins, to heal your body of what ails you. Remember in this prayer to ask as we should always to do to us according to God's will for us. As it tells us in the Lord's prayer, the prayer Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." Now you are on your own right now as I am also... I am going to open the prayer and close it, that way you can pray as long as you want..

Dear Father in Heaven, please heal my body of the following, -------------------------------------- -------------------- -------------- In Jesus name I ask these things... Amen...

You know, my brothers and sisters, throughout the Bible we have seen where God healed and when Jesus walked the earth He healed and folks He has given the authority over to his disciples to heal in the name of Jesus. Folks, don't laugh when you see a person like Benny Hinn putting hands on people. Is it real? Let me tell you that God has given the healing powers to people and those who have it must always remember that it comes from God, it is coming through the hands of those doing the anointing, but it is Jesus. Remember if we have the faith of the mustard seed we can move the mountain if we ask in faith and in the name of our Lord Jesus. So many people forget that our Lord Jesus is the same today as He was when He walked this earth, and that to me means He is still in the healing business. Now let us join with Jesus and His disciples in the Upper Room. For this I am going to the book of Luke and I would like you to read on your own from Chapter 22: 1/38. I am just going to type out the communion part as we think of it. I want you to remember now that we are clean of our sins and we are coming to the table of the Lord clean and this must be done all the time when we come to the Lord. Also remember this when the Lord tells us to eat and remember Him. We need to always remember Jesus when we break bread. Always pray before those meals, and folks, we need to pray always in the name of Jesus. Not just amen in closing or in His name. Folks, for this read John 14:6 where it tells us that the only way to The Father is through The Son. That to me is not just getting our self into heaven, that to me means prayer requests and all we want done and pray for. I believe that our prayers stop at the gate if we do not let Jesus carry them in. Meaning if we are praying in the name of anyone else they go unheard. Sorry folks, that is the way I read it. If you disagree, please let me know. I want to see in the Bible where you get that information. Pray in the name of Jesus only and always. Now are you ready with to do the communion with me? Here we go.

Luke 22: 19 - And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying "this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." Take your bread and eat it now.

Luke 22: 20 - In the same way, after the supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." Now take your juice and remember it is the blood of Jesus and drink it.

Now brothers and sisters, we have come to the real Thanksgiving table, we have been blessed by the Lord, and I ask you this, when you sit down to eat tomorrow, why not have communion? There will be bread on the table, take a cup of juice and just pass it around for each to take a sip. That was how it was really done. And remember first to pray for forgiveness of sins. And one other thing, set a place at the table for Jesus, a full setting that no one sits at and put it at the head of the table. We have done that before and it is special.

Folks, communion is always special, I don't know how many of you communion on line with me, or even might think it is silly. For some this is their church and I pray they are doing this. When we have on line communion Dolores and I always have it together as we just now did. Let's pray.

Father in Heaven, as we go into this Thanksgiving Eve, I pray a prayer of thanksgiving for all, thanking You for all things good and most of all for our Lord Jesus and for this Communion setting we just had... It sure is special. Thanks, in the name of Jesus, I pray...

Now folks, go forth sharing your blessings, driving with care and yes, I will write again tomorrow. Might be later in the day. One last thing, our family list went over 100 yesterday and we are still having people ask us for help for Christmas. Do we cut the amount for each or keep praying for more food and dollars to come in? we are walking forward in faith. God Bless you and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace... Love ya, dan.

Tuesday: Thanksgiving 2

Enter His gates with thanksgiving!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Again we are setting aside our regular prayers about asking for things this week except for those emergency prayer requests. We just want to give thanks to God this week. Here are two very important requests... Douglas Boyer still in rehab working on his left side after a stroke. Next for Jeff Gabel who has cancer. But hear me on this one, his family thinks he has not come to Jesus and his cancer is bad.. So warriors pray first for him to come to Jesus and that God keeps him alive till he does. Pray hard on this warriors, and please pray that the family gets bold and goes to the bedside and tells him if he is not saved he goes to hell. You know me brothers and sisters, I tell it like the Bible tells it... PRAY HARD, WARRIORS, WE HAVE A MISSION to get this man to the feet of Jesus to be saved.

Tomorrow I will be writing a special Thanksgiving message. Brothers and sisters, it might get long, it will be about anointing and we will have communion on line (always a special day for me). Bring some juice and bread to the computer, also if you wish, bring a drop of oil to use for anointing.

Thanksgiving 2: Psalm 100:4 - Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. 5 For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. (NIV)

Folks, yesterday I told you that my best blessing was that of God the Father give us Jesus. So when I start at the top, what comes next? Ok, here is the way I want to put it... If I were to ask you what my next best blessings was in my mind, you would more than likely say my family? Well, you are wrong... WHAT!! Yes, my dear pretty wife Dolores is second in my life along with family and friends, but as for blessings...

My next blessings is the fact that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ trusts me enough to let me work for Him. Think about it, brothers and sisters, for almost 15 years He has trusted me to get up in the morning and write a message that He gives me fresh each day. He trusts me enough to for over 15 years to team up with Pamela Bower (Our Ministry Partner) and take gospel music to retirement homes and nursing homes. Pam has been with me since the start of the singing ministry. He sent me Joanne Fortney who sang with us for many years but came to us because I had back surgery and she wanted to help lift speakers. Joanne's husband David would also travel with us from time to time and sing and I again was blessed to be able to have their children stand with us and sing. And of course my wife Dolores who plays the piano... and yes, our little bundle of Joy, Martin Martin Lehman, our K-9 who has traveled with us since he was five weeks old. God has furnished us with vehicles to get to the concerts, and God, and listen to this, He trusted us enough to walk out in faith asking for no money when we sing. Sometimes we get a donation, but that is rare. But He has provided and we never once had to stay home or say no to a concert.

God has also trusted me to, and listen to this, be a Santa and work for Him doing it. There is a fine line in that, I started that in 1982... you do the math. Then 13 years ago He sent me to Allenberry Playhouse where I was asked to be Santa. My answer to the owners... Can I tell about Jesus? Yes, you can, and can I work for food donations? Yes you can, was the answer again. I work for food, and for years we took it to a food bank. Then God trusted me and our ministry team to start helping others with our own food pantry, and He told me that if we do this, He will supply what we need. A lot of you folks have come forward and this year it will near or go over 100 families and we do not just give them one meal, God will make it so much more. Brothers and sisters, this is not about me, except I have tried to answer His call. This is about His trust in not just me but Dolores and Pam and others who help us. And then just about 5 years ago He trusted us once again and gave us a flock. No pay for being the pastor, no collection plate passed around, although we set one at the door...

I am so humbled by this, by how God has trusted me. We often think about how we trust God to do things for us, but think about it... God also trusts us to get His word out. We are all to be walking into the fields of harvest. So brothers and sisters, do you see why I say that after my first blessing of Salvation, you see that I think my second best blessing is His trust in me?

Dear Father in Heaven... Thanks for trusting me to do your work. I am humbled. Thank You, Thank You. Lord, in this week of Thanksgiving we want to give You glory, all of it. However, Lord, today I need to ask first for Salvation for Jeff Gable, and then for Your healing hand, for him and for Doug Boyer. Lord Jesus, I thank You again as I pray in Your name. Amen.

So why did Jesus trust me? I am not different than you and He will trust you also. Please pray and listen to Him, and by all means share your blessings. Again, thanks for those who have been sending checks or dropping off food for our food bank... which by the way is open year round, this is not just a Christmas thing. Also, live in the area, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the AACA Museum and the Museum of Bus Transportation at 161 Museum Drive Hershey Pa., this Friday from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM. There is a charge to get into the museum, but well worth it. There is no charge to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus or to take pictures of all those cars, buses and motorcycles. Love ya, dan.

Monday: Thanksgiving 1

Let us come before Him with Thanksgiving..

Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters. For this week, I would like to set aside those normal prayers for the groups, you can do that on your own. Monday, our Leaders and military, Tuesday, Schools day, Wednesday, Salvation, Thursday, Families, and Friday, those who work the fields for Jesus. Why am I doing that? This week I would like to just list the prayer requests that come in, but mainly use the week for just saying thanks for what we have.

Also I want to invite all who live in the area to our Thanksgiving Eve service... 6.30 PM at the Bridges. It will be an anointing, and communion service. Let's get started.

Thanksgiving 1: Psalm 95:1 - Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before Him with Thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song. 3 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. (NIV)

Folks, let me start out by saying that we can build long, long lists of what we are thankful for and that each one of them, EACH ONE OF THEM, God has His hands on. There is not one thing, not one thing that you have that is good that God did not have His hand on. If you think there is, please by all means take time to tell me. Today I am going to just tell you about a few of the things God has done for me that I am thankful for. These are not in any kind of order... except for the very, first one.

I am thankful for my Salvation through our Lord Jesus, who is the one and only one who can give you Salvation. Jesus was born to die! Think about it, we are born and we will all pass from this earth, and Jesus died for us so that we may live. Notice I did not say we will die. We will pass from this earth and have everlasting life. Now why in the world do you think God would send His One and only Son to die for us? Why? He made us and He loves us so much that He wants us back home with Him. Think about it... God gave us all free will, He turned us loose so to say, but He sent His Son to save us and then the Holy Spirit to comfort us. Think of our families. As our kids get older they leave the nest, ok, some we sort of had to push out. But don't we all like to see them coming home for a VISIT from time to time? And don't we all want to be together someday in the end? Folks, you are all my brothers and sisters, for God is our Father. I want to set a date with all of you... Some day when it is over here on earth, let's meet at the feet of Jesus and sing in the choir.

Folks, I just want to stop here for this day and direct you to read...
John 3: 16/17 and Romans 10: 9/10 and think about it. Let's pray...

Dear Father in Heaven, this week we are going to try and ask for nothing except that You forgive us of our sins and make us whole. Lord, this week we just want to say thank You for things and today we want to thank You for Jesus and for sending Him to us. How wonderful a Gift, You gave to us... Your Son. Thanks for Him... In His name I give those thanks, Amen.

Please remember, if you have a prayer request to send it and we need to keep up with that, but for the most part this is going to be Thanksgiving week. And remember one of the big things about Thanksgiving week is sharing your blessings. Thanks to all of you who have gifted us with Turkey slips at the Giant food stores, cases of food, carts that are being filled in churches. You are wonderful and we are so blessed, but however, all glory goes to God... Love ya, dan.

Friday: Back to the Basics 10

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a nice morning after a really heavy thunderstorm storm last evening (yes, thunder and lightning). It was great and God is good for it was a rain event and we do not need to shovel it this morning and we did need the water. Today being Friday is the day that we pray for all those who work the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. Please pray for Pastor Tony, (New Pacemaker) and for Doug Boyer, stroke. Also I am asking you to pray for Carry The Light Ministries, my wife Dolores, our ministry partner Pam Bower and me. We are going to get very, very busy. Our food bank will more than likely go over 100 families this year, this is including the 33 families that was trusted to us from Harrisburg City. Your response on the line has been wonderful and there have been a lot of readers that mailed in a check. We have food carts out in about 8 locations and we will be picking them up right after Thanksgiving. Pray that they are full, and pray God sends us people to sort and pack. Sorting packing will occur on Saturday December 5th in the afternoon, with our day of blessings on Saturday afternoon, December 12th. We will deliver to the 33 families from Harrisburg to a school location on the afternoon of December 17th... God is good and with your prayers and help it will all go through. Of course our food pantry is open year round so we do not want to empty the shelves bare for this event. Folks, thanks for sharing your blessings.

Back to the Basics 10: Matthew 22:36 - Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? 37 Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." (NIV)

I do want to keep this very basic today. As for the first one, Love the Lord your God. I want you to remember there is but one God, God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Yes, God The Father, His one and only Son and the comforter, the Holy Spirit. My friends, there is no other god, none, zip, zero, but a lot of people make gods out of people and stuff. I talked about it last week and I am not going to repeat it. Just remember this is one of the great commandments.

Here is the other... Love your neighbor as yourself. Brothers and sister, this means to me that we must really love ourselves. Some people think it is bad to love yourself, I have heard people say that. Boy that person really loves them self. Folks, please when you do this remember not to be above others, for we are to love our neighbor as our self. Now let me talk about your neighbor and my neighbor. A lot of times we think of our neighbors as those who live next door, across the street or behind us. Sometimes we call everyone on the block our neighbor. The truth is our neighbors, the way God wants us to look at it, do live across the street and next door and behind us, but they live in the same town and same state and same country and wow, in the same world. We are to love our neighbor and that means everyone. We are to love them regardless of color or even religion. Remember this from Bible school... "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the children of the world."

Folks we are to be like Jesus, we are to live for and like Jesus the best we can, we are to be followers of Jesus. If we are truly Christians we must do this.. I confess sometimes it is hard doing that, people who have put you down over the years, who have stomped on you when you were at the bottom, who bring things up from your past, but folks, we must love God and love all these people. And remember this... and never forget it... LOVE IS NOT SEX. Making love can be feeding the poor and needy, giving blankets to the homeless, taking your old clothes to Goodwill or Salvation Army or groups like that. That is making love, folks. It seems so many people want to take over nice words and nice things (like the rainbow that God put in the sky). Folks, truly love your neighbor and truly love God... remember in this, you might be able to fool your neighbor, but you will not fool God. Let's pray.

Father in Heaven, How wonderful You are, how great and wonderful You are, Lord use us in the fields to help You bring in the lost, and Lord please, please be with all who go out and work for You. And Lord, be with Pastor Tony and be with Doug Boyer and heal them. And yes, Lord, give we in Carry The Light Ministries the strength and help to work this mission for You. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Folks, again, thanks for the support, I am overwhelmed with joy as we see what is coming in. Keep on sharing those blessings and God will keep replacing them for you. He said we can test Him on that one. Love ya, have a blessed weekend... dan.

Thursday: Back To The Basics 8

And God spoke all these words:

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, what a great day to be alive and live in the United States of America. Thank You Jesus for another day!! Folks, I want you all to know that it is a tad ahead of time but I still say "Merry Christmas" and as most of you know Dolores and I do Santa and Mrs. Claus at Allenberry Playhouse where we still cannot only say Merry Christmas, we are encouraged to do it. And we can stand in the dining rooms and tell folks about Christmas. It is family day on the line and as we pray again I ask that you keep praying for the family in the White House, first for Salvation and then that our President takes things to God The Father, Through Jesus The Son before he brings it to us. And pray for your family and other families...

Back To The Basics 9: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 16 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house. Your shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or His manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (NIV)

Basics here, folks, when we go to court we swear or pledge to tell the truth in whatever we say.
Basics facts are we should be telling the truth most all the time, in all we do. Most all the time? Folks, when giving testimony in court, when filling out papers for jobs, even when reporting your income to the IRS we should be truthful all the time. Is there ever a time that we should tell a little white lie? You know I believe in the bottom of my heart there is... I really do, and let me give you a few examples. If you know something from someone's past and someone asks you about it just to bring up dirt, is it not much better to say, I don't know? I think it is. Why would you pass along information that is not needed to be passed along that you know will hurt someone... is that not gossip? What about this really big, little white lie that we tell our children, you know, about Santa? Oh, this opens it up does it not? Yes, I have been telling that little lie over and over again since 1982, and each time we are out there we tell the truth about Jesus and why we have Christmas. I have on many, many occasions turned down jobs playing Santa in malls and at private parties because I told the folks I tell the real Christmas story and they said no. You see to us, it is just a tool to use to talk about Jesus. I also believe that Santa sells a lot of toys at Christmas and that, folks, is good for the economy and keeps jobs flowing and, folks, when God gives us food today does He not use the hands of others? Think about it. In court we are called to tell the truth. On the outside maybe a good thing to remember is that if we do not have anything good to say about someone say nothing.

Also, folks, if you are the one with things in your past... Give them to Jesus, and when others bring them up, walk away from them saying before you walk away... God took those things away, I would appreciate if you would just keep your mouth closed about it. I HAVE CHANGED. I am telling you right now there is not one person alive today that wants his closet opened for all to see. So please remember this on this subject. Before you go into the closet of others, remember what is in yours.

Back to the Basics: You shall not covet. My parents told this to me. We don't try and keep up with the Jones. If they purchased a new car we would tell them how nice it was. When our car died my dad would get another used one. For me, well, I like cars but I don't get one just because my neighbor did. Work hard in life, work it for God and just watch the blessings that flow out to you. There is no need to covet anything when you really work for our Lord for He will see your needs are met and far beyond it. Maybe the comment should have said that... When working for me you will never need to covet. Ok, more basics tomorrow... what will they be, I have no idea, for God has not told me yet...

Let me explain that. God gives me things each day and I try my best to put it out like He wants it done. Sometimes I get it mixed up, I guess, sometimes I spell words wrong, but it comes from God through my heart and brain and out my finger tips. God is good. Listen to Him, He will do the same for you.... Let's pray.

Thank You dear Father for all You do. Today I am asking for nothing except that You forgive our sins. I just want to say thank You for all You do for all of us each day, and thanks for shedding Your blood to cover our sins. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Now go forth, work hard for what you have, share it with others, and you for sure will not need to covet. All who love God need to be working for Him. Worth saying again, all who love God need to be working for Him... and for all those sharing your blessings with Carry The Light Ministries, thank you, thank you, thank you... love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Back to the Basic 8

"For God so loved the world"!!

Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, ask God into your heart and be saved! Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, Repent from your sins and be saved! Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, Confess your sins and you will be saved! Salvation Wednesday, Salvation Wednesday, Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and be saved!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and yes, it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, the day we pray for the lost and we pray that God will use we who are saved to help bring them to His feet. Remember, you and I cannot save a soul, not even our own, but if we trust in God and believe that Jesus died for us and we repent of our sins, we will be saved. And then we must work for God, and working for God is to help bring in the lost. Also, folks, it is not just good enough to help bring them in, we must also feed His sheep...

Please pray for Dolores today as she is off very early today and already at the Hershey Medical Center checking in with a new team of doctors to see if they can get a handle on her pain and her ever more curving spine. Please keep praying for Doug Boyer as I try and get an update on his condition. Also please, please pray for Vicki, she really needs our prayers and also needs help getting through the holidays. She has been on this line a very long time and is a daily reader and prays for all those on our lists. Vicki is one of our Native America ladies.

Back To The Basics 8: "John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." (NIV)

Folks, that is about as basic as it gets. Jesus came to save our sorry souls and all we need to do is accept it, repent of our sins, and go to work for Him. Folks, as I talk to you today I want to talk to you about targets. You know all about targets, right? But let me talk to you about a different kind of target, let's target the unsaved for Jesus, now please do not stalk them, target them. Let's say you have a neighbor that you are not sure about... one thing you should do and should always be doing is to live a life that they can see Jesus in you. If you are standing out at your mailbox with a cigar and a beer, half drunk, and you are telling some dirty jokes, are you going to be a good witness to them? I am not saying here that there is a thing wrong with A beer or A drink, if you are not drunk. I am concerned about the smoking because it really hurts you, but I am not going to judge you on that one. So what I am saying here is that we should be living so people can see Jesus in us. So let me get back to the neighbor. One thing you could do that would scare them off would be take your Bible to the mailbox and shove it under their nose and point things out. The best way is to win them over by being nice to them. Help them, if they work, pull trash cans back in from the road, if you are cooking something save some for them, and when you see them come home from work walk over and say... Hey, take a night off from cooking and have dinner on us. Be kind to them. Folks, it works, and then if one of them has a problem ask if you can pray for them and then do it on the spot. I only ever had one person say they did not want my prayers and I pray for them most everyday. Then someday ask them if they are saved. If they are asking you questions about God, take time to answer them and don't make things up, tell it like it is in the Bible. If people are saying things like I believe in the man in the sky, chances are they are not saved, but are reaching out. There is a difference between believing in a higher power and being saved and washed in the blood of Jesus..

Years ago I was cleaning the windshield of a car at one of my service stations when a really nice Christian lady said to me, "Dan are you saved?" And I had come to Jesus not long before that, or came back to Him, as I was a lost son. My answer to her was yes, thanks for asking. Since then I have asked many people that question, are you saved? I even asked my pastor that one time. And I ask my flock that almost every week... Are you saved?

Now folks, one more short thing today and it again is basic. We must feed the sheep for God. If God did not tell us to feed His sheep, then what would pastors do once people came to Christ? Each day if we are going to go out and work, or play or just survive, we must feed our bodies and we should feed them "good stuff" and the same is with our souls. We must feed them good stuff. That is why we all need to be going to a good church. We need to do Bible studies, and read things, and I hope your reading this is helping to feed you, for indeed I think of all of you as part of the flock that God gave to me to watch over. Also, it is a way that God helps me get fed for He sends me the word and I must research it in the Bible. I also take in some church services and gospel concerts. Yes, pastors need fed also. Most of us get plenty when it comes to the food for our bodies, but we must also be careful to get food for our soul. Some pastors on this line will surely say amen to this.

Dear Father, help us to feed Your sheep, and also Lord, please help me remember that I am one of your flock, not just one of your shepherds and I need fed also. Lord, please forgive us of our sins today and help us to bring the lost to Your feet. Open doors for us, and give us feed to share. Lord, be with Dolores, Doug, Vicki and others on our prayer list and heal them please. Thanks again for this line and for feeding me the messages each day... in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth sharing those blessings, and yes you can feed others with food, and feed others with the word, just a couple ways of sharing your blessings... and know this... I love all of you... I really do, so I will sign off like this again... love ya, dan. I just don't want you to think it is just a habit I do.

Tuesday: Back to the Basics 7

And God spoke all these words!!!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Tuesday and that means it is schools day on this line, the day we pray for our schools and all who go through the doors, which includes but is not limited to, parents, students, employees, and remember all employees, for sometimes people think about just the teachers and forget who runs the school (The Secretary) and those who keep the school clean and the ones who feed the kids. Also remember those who work for the schools and some never enter the doors, well except for the doors of those big yellow buses. Yes, pray for the ones who work on them and drive them. Please remember this... We have teachers who have trouble controlling children with just 15 or 20 in front of them, and in some cases just a couple and sometimes with assistants in the room... then when the bell rings we send them on the road with a bus driver, load the bus up to 90, yes I said 90, kids and expect the driver who has their back to them, to be able to watch them and the traffic both. Pray warriors pray... and with that said, know that the safest way to travel per passenger mile is by bus and the safest of the safe is by school bus. Think safety in travel, think BUSES!!!! Over the road, charter, city transit, or school bus... pray for all those drivers today.

Also today please pray for this dear friend of mine. He has been an inspiration to me since I met him years ago. His name is Douglas (Doug) Boyer, funeral director from New Bloomfield, and Duncannon Pa. Gospel singer and the backbone of Brotherhood Native America Outreach. Doug had a stroke yesterday. I understand it was mild and he will be transferred to rehab today... Pray warriors, pray... Just a side note on Doug... Doug came to Jesus years ago in the living room of his house watching the Couriers on TV.

Back To The Basics 7: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words. 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 13 You shall not murder 14 You shall not commit adultery, 15 You shall not steal." (NIV)

Let me cover three of the basics today from those ten commandments that we have been doing. These, my dear brothers and sisters, are so basic and believe it or not there are laws on the books about all three of these... You shall not murder. It sound so simple and think why would one person want to kill another, yet just the week before last one of our military killed over a dozen of his fellow military in what I truly believe was a terrorist hit on America. It seems we have concern over those we lose in wars, and folks we should, don't get me wrong here, but we lose so many, many more in murders. Look up the numbers yourself. God tells us there will be wars and rumors of wars and we are not to be concerned, but He also tells us not to murder. Oh and remember after you count all the murders in all the local papers across the country, remember to add in the murder of our unborn children. Folks, I know that those who commit murder can and will be forgiven by our Lord Jesus if they come to Him in faith and ask, but I know I would not want to be in the shoes of all those MURDER DOCTORS, YES, MURDER DOCTORS AND NURSES who are killing off our unborn children, and folks, our PRESIDENT IS JUST AS GUILTY for he supports it... and if you support it, you have blood on your hands also. Yes, I said that, and the churches that support it like THE UNITED METHODIST, have blood on their hands also, and folks, if you are putting money in the collection plate you are supporting what the church stands for. Think about it, folks, and if you who are United Methodist think I am wrong, look in your book of discipline. Sisters and brothers, if you have been involved in an abortion, I invite you to get on your knees and ask to be forgiven... Jesus will forgive you and make a way for you to get into heaven.

Now let me move on to You shall not commit adultery. Yes, in some towns and in some states this is still on the books as a law. But it has always been on the book from God, our Bible, as one of the commandments. So those who have broken this law of God, I also invite you to get on your knees and ask to be forgiven. Jesus does forgive, my friends, and He went to the cross to show that to us.

Last today is You shall not steal. How many of us can truly say that we have never stolen anything? This is very basic, my friends, and if you have never stolen anything you are indeed an excellent person on this commandment. I want you to look back over your life... Did you take out a gun and stick up the bank? More than likely not, did you rob the gas station with a gun? More than likely not, did you rob the corner with a gun in hand, more than likely not. However, did you go home from work with tape, pens, and other of those small office supplies, did you who worked in the shops take home a tool and not return it? When I owned service stations, I would let employees use my shop off the clock, and would not charge them for tape, screws and things like that, but some would change oil if I was not there and not pay for the filter or the oil. Some would steal gas, they got fired. Folks, but the biggest thing stolen today, and hear me on this one, the biggest thing stolen today, and this is my opinion of course, the biggest thing stolen today is... Oh, I think I will make you wait till tomorrow. No, I will tell you and again it is my opinion. The biggest thing that is stolen today is time. People go to work, no more than in the door they clock on and head to the coffee pot. They get a drink of coffee and stand and talk for a while. Then comes the breaks and how long do they last? And the personal calls and the cell phone calls and texting and folks, if you are reading this on company time, unless you are the OWNER, you are stealing time. So if you get the message at work, be sure you have permission and then please, please read them on your time, go in early, stay late, read them on your lunch... or better yet, give me your home email address.

So a quick review of those basics for today... Do not murder, do not commit adultery, and do not steal. Pretty basic to me, but trust me, I have been on my knees to ask to be forgiven for breaking commandments in my life. Yes, when we break them, they are sins, and we all sin. Thank You, Jesus, for forgiving me, and all others who ask. In fact, let us go to Jesus today just to ask for forgiveness...

Dear Father in Heaven, you think we would have learned early in life not to sin, yet we sin and need forgiven. Thanks for sending us Jesus and thank You Jesus for dying so we can have a way to be forgiven. Please Lord, forgive all those asking right now, including me. Father, I pray for Doug Boyer today, I pray that you heal him and bring him back whole. Lord, also be in our schools blessings all who go there, be they like it or not... bless them all. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Go forth now, trying your very best to repent and getting back to the basics with Jesus, and one of the basics, sharing your blessings... love ya, dan.

Monday: Back to the Basics 6

And God spoke all these words!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Please stop right now and pray for Pastor Tony Mayeski. As you know, I always refer to Pastor Tony as a "pastor's pastor" and this morning at 6.30 AM he will be having surgery to replace a pacemaker. Please also pray for his wife Ruby for comfort, and also for her health.

Today is Monday and if you live in Central Pennsylvania I don't need to tell you just how beautiful the weekend was, for it was like a late spring weekend and yesterday the motorcycles were out, the rag tops were down (Rag Tops = Convertibles). But with all that said, the best blessing was, we woke up in the morning and were able to serve God another day. Today is also the day we pray for our leaders and for all of our veterans and our current military and for our police and firefighters and for all who work hard to keep us safe and healthy.

If you feel like me this morning, you might not want to pray for our president as he again is bowing down to foreign leaders, but God tells us we are to pray for our leaders, so please folks, do this for God, and please pray for this man's salvation and that of his family. Then pray for his safety and that he would start looking out for our troops and for those who reside legally in the United States. Also pray that the leader of the ones who attacked America on 9/11/2001 is not brought to New York City for his trial. This should be handled by our military. Our Nation needs our prayers really bad and dare I say this today. This is what happens when we turn from God and the Bible spells it out. What is bad will be treated as good and what is good will be looked at as bad (in my words today). Please be sure you pray for our veterans and remember that some of them are just 18 years of age and have lost arms and legs, and pray and pray and pray for our troops, and that our president stops his running around the world putting down America and remembers he is the leader of our troops and they need his action NOW...

Folks, I talked to some WW2 veterans just yesterday at Allenberry and they said that they would go back in the military today and fight for this country. We are free today because of men and women like this and we have great people in our military today but they are being asked to fight a war with their hands tied behind their backs. This is not right, it just is not. PRAY, WARRIORS, PRAY, for all of us who are true believers know that God is still and always will be in charge. Ok, let me get back on point and thanks for letting me vent a tad...

Back to the Basics 6: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." (NIV)

God is again very clear here when He tells us to honor our father and mother. Please note there is a reward for honoring your parents and it is long life. And also please note here as we go back to the basics that God gave us this country. He did not give it to any one person or any one group of people He gave it to all of us. Sadly over the years and years there have been wars and rumors of wars, and yes, we have been warned about it in the Bible, but what has caused these wars or a lot of them? Land, people wanting more land... and it is still going on today. People have gone to war over land and it is still going on, and even neighbors have had fights over a boundary line between properties. Some have resulted in death. And then there is the difference in people. If folks would all just remember that God made all of us, each and every one of us. He painted us different colors and over the years that has caused trouble. But it did not stop, it is still going on, and now there are turf wars. These are people who think they own blocks and can roam those blocks and rule them. If someone comes in from another block or two there is fighting. Gang wars, motorcycle wars, and it goes on and on and on. Folks, if people would just get back to the basics it would be so much nicer. God gave us this land, our military has protected it so we have freedom and now here in America you just better know where you walk at night... Sad, isn't it? You know, if all of us would have learned this basic thing... Honor your father and mother, this would have taught you to honor others also, for if we follow the Bible and we will get to this later, if we follow the Bible and honor our parents it would spread out.

As a child if I did not honor my father and mother, and live by their rules that came mostly from the Bible, there were some punishments handed out. And folks, I also was taught to honor my friends' parents by behaving when at their homes. In fact we were taught to call those folks by Mr. and Mrs., not by first names or by saying "hey". It was Mrs. Brown and Mr. Brown. So folks, let's get back to the basics, let's teach our children and grandchildren to honor all others. And let's tell them about the reward they get. You know the reward, the one in the Bible... Yes, about living a long life in this country that God gave to us...

Dear Father in Heaven, first and foremost we want to honor You, our Lord God and Savior, and then we want to honor our parents. Lord, I would love to have my parents back for just one day to tell them how wrong I was sometimes. I loved my parents but those times I spoke hard to them, I would love to just hold them one more time and say, sorry mom or sorry dad. So Lord, please forgive me and all others who would feel that same way today. And Lord, now let me talk to you about our President. When I see him bowing down before others I want you to know that I bow to no one other than You. Lord, I pray for our president today for his soul and that of his family, I pray they will come to You and bow only to You. Protect them, Lord, and remind him that he is the one who leads this nation. Lord, I pray for Pastor Tony who right now is having a pacemaker put in. Bless that surgery, Lord. I pray today for our veterans, and for our military, and Lord, please keep them safe and bring them home soon.. Lord bless also our police, firefighters, who most work for free, and for all others on our prayer list today. Lord, thanks for the life of Jesus on this earth and His showing us examples to live by. How Father, Jesus honored You when He prayed in the garden the night before He died for us... Lord forgive me of my sins this day and I pray many more come to You this day... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth, and if you are blessed to still have your father and/or mother, honor them this day with a phone call to just say... I love you, mom, or I love you, dad, and if it is a step parent honor them also for it is not always easy to be a step parent. Honor God also by sharing your blessings... Love ya, dan. Folks, you may call at anytime for prayer or just to talk...

Friday: Back To The Basics 5

And God spoke all these words!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working for our Lord Jesus, and once again I say that each and everyone of us needs to be on this prayer list. Pray for your pastors today, pray for them each day, pray for Carry The Light Ministries today and pray for us each day please. Pray for Pastors Larry, Kevin, Tony, Paul, Jamie, and pray for Dave, Duane, Neil, and also the Couriers (Tim and Larry) and the Jacobs Brothers, and for Pastor Phil Enloe and his new church. And please pray for your church and if you do not have one, it is time, folks, you need to be with a body of Christians and true believers. Be sure to check out the church you are going to, to be sure they teach the true and complete word of God.... (Someone say amen on that one.) So many churches are not teaching the complete truth and some are changing things.

Back To The Basics 5: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." 8 " Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." (NIV)

Now let me ask all of you a question on this one... Out of all the commandments, are you like me and find it is very, very hard to keep this one? Let me break it down for a minute and give you my thinking on this. First of all I think we need to keep each and every day Holy and work it for the Lord. God made all seven days and we for sure want to honor Him on each day and I know of no better way than to keep each day holy. I think we can all do work and still keep the day holy, and the best way to keep a day holy is by keeping ourselves holy. By honoring and pleasing God in the way we work, the way we play, the way we live, the way we act, the way we talk, the way we walk. In all things we should be doing it for Jesus if we indeed are true Christians. So what about the seventh day and keeping it holy and not working? We need to understand that in different Christian Religions the Sabbath day is different. Some on Saturday, and some on Sunday and if we go by our calendar the seventh day is Saturday. Also some folks have jobs that require working on the Sabbath day. Let's look at the health care workers. Hospitals do not close up on Saturday or Sunday and let all workers off, but that is ok, Jesus showed us that is ok because He healed on the Sabbath. Also farmers and all other people who have animals including those of us who have pets, we must take care of them. Now for the farmer, that is work, but it needs done, but that does not mean they need to use a team of horses to plow the fields on the Sabbath, and in fact those still using horses or mules do not work the fields on the Sabbath, but those same farmers still need to feed the animals and they indeed use them to get to worship service.

Years ago when I was the operator of an Exxon Service Station I was not open on Sundays. While when I first went into business there was a gas shortage and Exxon wanted us to close one day a week, when the gas supply picked up they DEMANDED us to open again. Well something happened to me in those years. I became born again and when ordered to open on Sunday I refused and since it was not in my lease there was nothing they could do about it. So what happened next was Exxon used the rent opener in the lease and doubled my rent. So I had a choice to make, open Sunday or go out of business... OR, purchase our own building which we did, and which our son Keith still has and uses daily for the auto repair business... and to this day it has not opened on Sunday.

But what about this... How many of we Christians like to go out for lunch after church? And how many of us go to a place to eat and expect to see workers there to wait on us? Guilty as charged on this one. So to say I can get a tad confused on this one, I like to work it like this and this is a review... We should treat each day Holy, and we should in my opinion try our very best to rest one day a week. Since we pastor on Sundays, and in November and December we go on through to Allenberry, we try our best to use Monday as a day of rest. We take care of animals daily, and we try hard to work for the Lord daily, and I am sure that if we are doing these things in faith, and we are wrong on them, through the blood of Jesus we will be forgiven...

Dear Father in Heaven, to me the hardest commandment to understand and really try and keep word for word is this one about the Sabbath, and Lord, I for one and I am sure other readers on this line want to get it right.. Lord, even those who go out in the fields of Harvest and work for You are working, but working for You, so today I ask that You bless all those working for You and pray that we all do it seven days per week and that if we are wrong on any part of this you will indeed forgive us... Lord, be with Anne and Erik in the loss of Anne's mother, and Lord, be with all who travel this weekend... In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Go forth now sharing your blessings and helping others and living for Jesus daily. Love ya.

PS. Yesterday we picked up part of our order at the food store, we had ordered canned food by the case. The dollar amount was about $750 and the store gave us all the store discounts plus a $100 dollar gift card to apply to the food. God bless the Giant food stores and all of you who have been sending in support. I must tell you that we do not get or even ask for anything from the Government.

Thursday: Back to the Basics 4

And God spoke all these words.

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters... It is Thursday and that means it is family day on the line. Folks, we need to be praying for families, please start with the family of God, pray for other families that are in trouble and please pray for the family in the White House. Also please pray for your family and mine.

Back To The Basics 4: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words. 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." 7 "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, getting back to the basics is going to be more than a one week run, but we will just take the time to do it the way the Lord wants it done. I am also praying about the journey and a new vision for it. For the last four or five years God gave me a series that was called the journey. It was fun to write and I know many enjoyed reading it as we traveled to the manger and beyond. For now, let's get back to the basics.

Today we are taking a look at using the Lord's name in vain, or cursing as most of us know it. The Bible tells us in the New International Version (NIV) that we should not misuse His Name. The Bible also tells us, and remember that God is being quoted here, that "The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name." I was told by someone years ago that they were a "Rough Christian" and I just had to ask because I never heard that term before. The example that I got just made me sick. I was told that "A rough Christian is a person who comes to Jesus and is born again but still curses because they did it all their life." No, no, no brothers and sisters, when we truly come to Jesus we must put away those old habits and sins and work each day to please Him. It is one thing the Bible is very clear about. And I could never understand this one... Someone tells you that they do not believe in Jesus as their Savior nor do they believe in God or creation. They say that they do not exist, so why then do they call on Him in a cursing way when they hit their finger with a hammer?

One of the basic things about being born again is that we come to Jesus and we put away all those bad habits we might have once had. WE REPENT of those sins, and although a sin is a sin according to some pastors, I think some are spelled out differently in the Bible, that a lesson for another day. Maybe one good example of that is in tomorrow's lesson. For today I don't think I need to labor the point to you about swearing and cursing and using the Lord's name in a bad way. In fact when you hear others do it, you should correct them. I know I have heard my dear wife call people to task for it and I have also done the same... Words something like, hey, that is my Father you are cursing or that is my Savior you are cursing out.

I will confess to you right now that long before I gave myself to the Lord I learned I could not curse, for it was one of the most basic things I learned as a child... and trust me, I ate some soup, a lot of soup learning this, and even darn it was bad if you coupled it up with the word God. That brings me to those substitute curse words. They are just as bad as cursing, and I hate to hear them and you will even hear them on TV or the radio like there is nothing wrong with them. God knows when you are cursing even if you change the words, you see, He knew you before you were in the womb, and He knows what you are thinking... Scary isn't it? Not if you are really really saved, for He has forgiven those past things, and now and this is basic, and we need to get back to the basics. Yes, we need to repent of those sins and the ways we acted before we came to Jesus... right? I knew you would agree. Let's pray.

Dear Father in Heaven, forgive all those words that came out of our mouth that were just no good, the cursing of the past, the lies, the gossip, the talking about others, and all of our other sins. Help us to repent this day and walk in your light and toward You so the light gets brighter in us daily. Lord please, I pray for the soul of our President and his family and I pray for the family of God that all people come to You. I pray also for all families on this line and the family that lives under our roof, Lord. Lord, bless this house, oh Lord, we pray, keep it safe night and day... in Jesus name, Amen.

Go forth, minding your words and repenting of sins as you share your blessings...

Over the weekend we put out our mailbox for letters to Santa and the first letter in from our neighbor gifted the ministry for $100, God is good. We also put a food cart out for neighbors to drop food... The cart will be emptied daily... love ya dan

Veterans Day: Back to the Basics 3

"No greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends!"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. To my beautiful wife Dolores (Air Force), my son Glenn, my daughter in law Dian, my granddaughter Brittany, and my grandson Daniel, (All Navy), Uncle Harold Goddard (Navy), the late David Goddard (National Guard), the late Glenn Witmer (Navy), and our dear friends Sharon Saylor, (Navy), Allenberry family member John Heinze (Air Force Pilot), Oliver Ogden (Army), Pastor Richard Denison (Chaplain 193rd Air Force Reserves), and all other veterans and current military I would like to say you today... GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU, MAY HE CAUSE HIS FACE TO SHINE UPON YOU AND GIVE YOU PEACE... Thanks for you service to our country... I for one appreciate it.

If it were not for our brave men and women of the UNITED STATES MILITARY, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, the National Guard Units such as the 28th Army and 193 Air Force from our area... Also for all you who worked so hard at home to support those who over the years went to war.... Thank you, for without the support of all these fine men and women could not get the job done.

Today is Salvation Wednesday, and let us today pray for the unsaved who might be in our military. Think about it, was the one who shot up Fort Hood saved? I think not, but I guess I am judging, but maybe he might come to Jesus now and at least save his soul.

Back to the Basics 3: John 15:13 -"No greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends!" (NIV)

When our fine men and ladies sign up for our military they go back to the basics. Yes, it is called "Basic Training". Now why would it be called that? Because it is so basic, the first thing they do is learn how to live together, how to get along with others, how to work their bodies so that they can tough it out if they see action. They also learn to clean the barracks, wash the pots and pans, clean the restrooms and all the other basic things. They also learn how to shoot a gun, but before they learn how to shoot it, they learn how to handle it safely. Brothers and sisters, we have the best military in the world, bar none!! Now if we could get our Commander in Chief on board. Come on Mr. President, support our military by working with our Generals and keeping the politics out of it.

Brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus gave us His life for our personal freedom and it is above all the most important freedom we need. We need our loving Jesus in our hearts each day and we need to walk with Him. But think about it, right now we can walk pretty much where we want to walk in this country, and I say pretty much because we are losing the streets to the bad people at night, but the freedom we have in the United States of America is because of those who served before us...

I want you to think about this next statement I am going to make, and I want you to think about it real good. Today we could be all speaking German, or Japanese, or Korean, or some other language or we, if not fighting now, we could all be lining up to be beheaded by those Muslims who want to kill all Christians. Hey, it just happened at Fort Hood and that is in Texas, and you do remember those planes on 9/11/2001 who took them over. AMERICA, WAKE UP... LET'S GET BACK TO THE BASIC. Love our Lord God and love our country. PLEASE GOD, BLESS AMERICA... yes brothers and sisters, it is time to ask, not demand, so instead of saying God Bless America, let's get back to the basics and say Please God, Bless America. Let's pray...

Dear Father in Heaven, Please, Bless America, and Father, thank You for Jesus who died for us and thanks for all our brave men and women who died or who were willing to die for this country. All who have served in the military, Lord, knew that they might someday have their life on the line. All showed what Jesus said. No greater love... Father, thanks for my freedom, both personal and in this grand nation. Help us serve You and our Country by bringing in the lost to be saved by Jesus. I pray in Jesus name today... Amen.

Now go forth, and today if you see a veteran or a person in the uniform of our country, take time to say thank you. And be proud you can say it in English. Also remember as always to share those blessings our Lord gave you... Love ya, Dan.

Tuesday: Back to the Basics 2

And God spoke all these words!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. Wow, schools day again, the day we pray for all of our schools. And today please pray for the Central Dauphin School District Bus drivers. They are in court today as Central Dauphin school board is trying to outsource their jobs to a contractor. Now contractors do a good job in most areas, but there is a contract in place that needs to be honored. People need to keep their word and a lot of time our government agencies seem to forget it, then they go to court with our tax dollars. So please pray for the drivers, first for safety on the road for all these distractions are not good when on the road And yes, pray for all who go through the doors of the schools and the doors on the school buses...

Please keep praying for Vicki, she had another set back when she fell... Also pray for Cindy with cancer. Keep Ann on your prayers also, she is home from the hospital but needs those prayers.

We at the Southern Location of the North Pole are thankful today... Dolores had a bad fall last night backwards, but God protected her on the landing and she is just fine. PRAISE GOD...
We are also blessed each day as dollars keep arriving for our addition 33 families.

Back to the Basics 2: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out the land of slavery." 4 " You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments." (NIV)

Ok, so it is Tuesday and it is schools day and when thinking of back to the basics I think of the three R's and that they were taught to the tune of a hickory stick. Now the first thing we remember is that three R's are Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Gosh, we get three R's out of that. But we do need to get back to the basics in our schools. Let's start it from the top. Like in Central Dauphin, the Board needs to keep their contracts and keep their word and be as concerned about education as they are about sports. (There, I said it) Then those principals in our schools need to act and DRESS like they are the Principal, not the gym teacher. Then the teachers need to do the same thing. The kids need to be having something to look up to, not across at or down to. And yes, in my opinion we need to put back into our schools the hickory stick (paddle). Also, early morning detention and Saturday detention, and it should be used for study. Parents also need to get back to the basics and maybe the hickory stick needs to come back there also... but folks, no beatings, and please do not take me as saying that... In court right now in York Pa. a man and a mother on trial for murder of her 2 year old. Seems her live in boyfriend beat the 2 year old with a remote control. He beat her over a 2 hour period till she died... and THE MOTHER WATCHED. Do you believe that one? It happened according to the news, and these two if found guilty need to be put away for life and that is too good for them.

Back to the Basics: Again I will tell you that if we all would just learn to live by the rules set forth in the Bible, we would not need a lot of the laws. We would need laws for driving like the stop signs and traffic signals etc. But if we all lived by the Bible you could throw out the crimes code for there would be no need for them.

Back to the Basic today and we look at the second commandment.,. You shall not make for yourself an idol. And let me shorten it up... You shall not make for yourself an idol! Period! Worship God and only God. You know people like their idols here on earth, movie stars, singers, etc. Look at Elvis, he has been dead, died from a drug overdose, and people are still bowing down to his feet, or the feet of those who perform in his name and those tight suits. I like to hear Elvis music, and I like to watch some of those Elvis shows, but some people really go nuts, and they are wanting a scarf that was rubbed in STINKY SWEAT. And my old buddy Kenny Rogers, how the ladies went after him... flowers at his concerts. Folks, enjoy those who God lent talent to, but careful that you are not worshiping them. Look at the last few weekends when a movie came out on the life of Michael Jackson, and it brought in millions and millions of dollars. Again, enjoy the talent but do not worship the singer or artist. There is a fine line and you just do not want to cross it, for the Bible tells us we have a jealous God and we will be punished and so will our children.

So let us get back to the basics of living our lives. Let us live for our Lord, let us love each other and show respect for them. Not all people are alike, God made us different, different looks, different brains, different colors, different inside, but there are a few things we all have in common. First, we are all brothers and sisters, we area all children of God, children coming from Adam and Eve, and children coming from Noah and his family. That is why I call you my brothers and sisters. A few weeks ago, I preached on the subject... So you married your cousin and brought all this out. Brothers and sisters, if we live by the Bible we are doing our part and our rewards will come in Heaven. Or we can live by Satan's rules and our rewards will be given in hell. Our own choice because God gave us free will. Will you go back to the basics with me and live by those rules in the Bible? More rules tomorrow. Let's pray now.

Father in Heaven, dear, dear Father in Heaven, hear our prayers for cleaning of our sins today, Lord, and wash us white as snow with the blood of our Lord Jesus. Lord, please be with the Central Dauphin School bus drivers and please be within all of our schools blessing all of those who come through the doors. Please heal Vicki and Cindy and Anne. Lord, touch them in all the right places as only you can do it. Lord, we love You and pray in the name of Jesus... Amen.

In closing you are going to ask me why not Jesus and prayer reading back in schools, with the back in basics... Read tomorrow and hear my opinion on that one. Now go forth sharing your blessings and thanks for sharing with our mission... Love ya, dan.

Monday: Back to the Basics 1

And God spoke all these words!

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, it is a beautiful morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. And a day off for a weary Santa and Mrs. Claus. The first week at Allenberry went well for us but we are very tired. We need to get adjusted to our new schedule. Today we do have a lot of work planned as we will be going to the store and making purchases of food for the pantry. God is good and checks are still coming to for the Turkeys for our additional 33 families. Please keep praying for this mission. It is Monday and the day we pray for our leaders in Washington and in our state houses and even the locals that have authority over us. It is also the day we pray for our military and please today remember to pray for those wounded at Fort Hood in Texas and for the families of those who lost their lives in this TERRORIST ATTACK! (Yes, I called it that, what do you think it was?) It is also the day we pray for our veterans, for our police and firefighters and others who work to keep us safe and healthy.

Back To The Basics 1: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." (NIV)

Brothers and sisters, I think it is time to get back to the basics for a while... I spent a good part of my life teaching drivers of school buses how to drive them and also teaching safety to those drivers. I took a lot of courses on just how to teach, how to speak, and how to put on safety classes. After all of this time I still find when you are teaching a class to others about safety, and I just did one recently, you just need to get back to the basics. It is just amazing to me how many people get careless when it comes to knowing some of the most basic things about driving... Like you must stop at stop signs and stop at red lights. And this one a real big one... You can turn right on red after YOU STOP and if the way is clear and there is no sign telling you, you cannot turn on red. So what is the basic thing for that type of intersection? First and foremost you must STOP... wow, did you hear that, that is what I mean by basics. Then you need to be sure the intersection is not posted for a no turn on red. Then when you are first in line (yes, first in line) you check for traffic and then if nothing is coming you may turn on red. Nothing means nothing, not forcing someone into a second lane. And stopping means when you are first in line, not going out with the car ahead of you. So let me see, are you doing it right? Basics in driver training will keep you from accidents. If you talk to anyone who teaches driver safety and training they will tell you that there is really nothing new, just different ways to teach it. Get the big picture, keep your eyes moving, plan ahead, follow a safe distance and stay alert. Oh, and there is one that I would really like to put forth today that was not in the basics back when I taught but it is or should be in there now... Let me put it like this... "HANG UP AND DRIVE". The other day I was coming up the Carlisle Pike in the North Pole bus and of course you can see in the cars beside you. Two young girls, the driver was doing that writing thing on the phone... Her one hand held the phone while the other hit the keys on it and yes she was reading it.. I thought for sure she would slam another car in the butt, and she will someday.

Back to the basics... Here are just a few more tips for some basics we all need to review. Before you write a check you need MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT. Before we purchase something we should be able to pay for it. Before you get a paycheck you need to GO TO WORK. If I were president, oh some will hate me for this... NO FREE RIDES. Unless one cannot work because of health related things as in handicap, there would be NO FREE RIDES. No welfare, oh, yes the checks would come but there would be public service jobs. The city streets would be hand picked of trash daily... basic thinking. And unemployment, why give out checks for unemployment, get out the old dump trucks and put together crews of people to pick trash along the highways, plant gardens for food to grow, clean the windows on the outside of public buildings... again, pretty basic, no free rides. I would have a four day week with one day off to go job hunting. And another thing, I would make that would be basic... Our mail carriers on the rural routes would be driving American built cars. Our dollars go to them for them to purchase cars and when I see foreign cars bringing the mail it burns my backside. Basics folks, basics...

Now let me turn the events here folks... Basics, in church we teach about the Lord and Salvation. It seems to me a lot of churches are trying to figure out how to get the money into the churches by changing God's rules that are in the Bible. Oh, if we preach about that we might offend someone and that person puts a lot of money in the plate. Folk,s we need to get back to the basics with our Lord and we need to really look at them, which is what I want to do this week. So each day I am going to pray about this and see what God gives me. What are some of the basics? Let's look at just where we might find some of them. Let's see, where do we look? I got it, we look in THE BIBLE. And where else can we learn the basics about God? Hmm, how about a really good church? Notice I said a really good one. One that teaches about the Lord and follows the Bible...

Back To The Basics 1: Exodus 20:1 - And God spoke all these words: 2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." 3 "You shall have not other gods before me." (NIV)

That is the very first step we need to learn today. We should worship no one, no thing, no animal, no car, no money, nothing other than Our Lord God, our Lord Jesus Christ. That sounds so simple, almost like stopping at a stop sign, but have you noticed how many people do not stop for stop signs? Yes, that's right, and how many people do not put God first in their lives? Let me make this very bold statement today... I want you to think about it this way... If God is not number one in your life, or you do not have Him heading up your house, then folks, you have another god ahead of our Lord God. Think about it... If you are giving to God from the bottom of your paycheck, who is on the top? Careful here, for the one on the top might be the god you worship. You say it is the electric company that gets the first check or your home mortgage? Learn this as basic today, if you give to God first, there will be enough money to pay the bills, or HE will help you work them out. But when you give to God last, there will never be enough. We will get into detail about that later this week... Basics... If it is snowing and you go outside in your bedroom slippers, your feet are going to get wet. Basics, you take your clothes off before you get into the bath tub. Basics, if you don't want to stink, you wash with soap and water. Basics, if you don't want your breath to stink, you brush your teeth and use mouth wash. Basics, if you expect God to really help you, you need to be repenting from sin and walking with Him...

Dear Father in Heaven, I really want to get back to the basics right now and start fresh, so Lord, please forgive me of my sins and wash me clean today. And Lord, I want to next repent of those sins. Lord, please today be with our president and Lord, I ask you protect him and his family and I pray that if they are not saved they come to You on bent knees and bow down before You and then lead this country. Lord, be with all of our military and this week, Lord, be at Fort Hood and help with the healing there for without You there will be no healing. Lord, be with all of our leaders and all those who work to keep us safe and sound. And Lord, help us to get back to the basics in all we do, and one of those things for sure is walking each day with You... We need Your help in that Lord. Lord, I love You and I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Basics, some of that would be sharing your blessings... How often have I suggested that to you, or outright told you? Share those blessings and God will replace them for sure if you did it in faith... Now go forth, in the name of our Lord... love ya, dan.

Friday: Staying Attached 5

"As my Father has loved me, so have I loved you!"

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, can you believe it is Friday already, Friday, "blessed Friday", as my dear friend R.J. Harris tells us each Friday morning. R.J. is the morning talk show guy along with Dan Steel on Radio 580 out of Harrisburg Pa. Friday and the day we pray for all those who are working in the fields of Harvest for our Lord Jesus. So pray for those missionaries, those in foreign lands and those working the streets of the United States of America. Pray for all pastors and pray that those who are picking and choosing from the Bible get back to using the complete word of God. Pray for all those on the road singing for our Lord and pray for Pastor Phil Enloe and the church he has started in Florida. And folks, again I tell you, we all should be on this prayer list...

Please pray for all of our Military and please pray hard for those at Fort Hood in Texas And yes, please pray for the shooter. And pray for our President to act on what has been on his desk for months about more troops in the war zone. He has time for everything but our troops. Wake up, Mr. President, you are now the commander in chief, and that is you first job. Pray for this man, folks.

Staying Attached 5: John 15:9 -"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in His love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." (NIV)

Now brothers and sisters, these are quotes from our Lord Jesus, and I want you to really think about them. "If you obey my commands you WILL REMAIN IN MY LOVE." Now folks, does this tell us that that if we break the commands our Lord will not love us, or will just cast us aside? No, but if we do not obey His commands His love will not be in us. Let's face it folks, if we break the commands if we do not stay attached, then how can that love be in us, for when the love of Jesus is in us and we are walking with Him, we do not break the commands. YOU JUST CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS HERE FOLKS... Yes, we all sinned and Jesus loves all of us, even the sinners, and I don't want to confuse you folks... So let me make it personal for a minute. When I took my walk years ago, my walk away from Jesus and was not living a life to please Him, He still loved me and was waiting for me to come back, but His love was not in me as I had put it (His Love) out... Again He still loved me, I just blocked His love out. When I came back to Him, I invited Him back into my heart. This, folks, is very clear if you read the story of the lost son.

Jesus makes it very clear here also if we are to have the Joy of His Love we need to keep the commands. Folks, so many people try and turn Jesus on and off. Jesus is the same each day, we are different. We can put His love out or take it in, but His Love for us is there as shown on the cross for us. While we were still sinners Jesus died for us. When we have Jesus in our hearts we are attached to the vine, and we will bear good fruit. The minute we break commands we are indeed cutting ourselves from the vine and we will wither and die.

So how about it, do we go out each day and try and please Jesus or do we go out each day and try and please ourselves? You know this is really our choice. Folks, I want to point this out to you. When Jesus, the one who is the vine master for us, the one who keeps us pruned, will never cut us loose, we do it to ourselves. It reminds me of the day I was out trimming bushes and was using the electric trimmers. This was back in the day when you still had the cord type. And yes, I was trimming away when I cut off the cord. I cut off the life line of my trimmers. When we cut ourselves from the true vine we are indeed cutting off our life line.

If we really stop and think about it each day and before we start the day we should ask this question of ourselves... How do we want to do the day? Do we want to walk it alone or walk it with Jesus? It is our choice, Jesus does not have us on strings... Do we want to prune ourselves from the vine or do we want to stay attached? For me, I did my walk, I want to stay attached and I am going to pray that way... will you join me today and stay attached? Come on and pray with me.

Dear Father in Heaven, We come to You today through our Lord Jesus and we want to make this commitment today, we want to try as hard as we can to obey the commands of Jesus, and Father, not just the ones in the Bible but the ones He tells us when He answers our prayers. We are pleased with Jesus just as You were and are pleased with Your Son. Father, hear our prayers today for help in staying attached to the vine and to work and love Jesus even more. Lord, be with all the workers today in the fields of Harvest, and Lord, please let them see you today at Fort Hood. In the name of Jesus I pray and through Him I want to stay attached... Amen.

Now go forth staying attached to Jesus, and of course sharing your blessings with others. God is good... and you are loved, by the Father, by the Son and by the Holy Spiri and yes by me... love ya, dan.

Thursday: Staying Attached 4

"If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful crisp morning here at the Southern Location of the North Pole, and it is family day on the line. So please pray today for families and remember to pray for the Family of God. Pray also for your church family and, Christians, we also need to be praying for our work families. Yes, we need to pray for personal families of course, and let's pray for your family and mine today and also remember to pray for our president and his family. Please keep praying for Toby who came through surgery yesterday and we just need to cover this little K-9 as he recovers.

Dolores and I hit the road yesterday as Santa and Mrs. Claus at Allenberry Playhouse. We felt right at home as this is our 12th season. Dolores went to the piano and I went to singing those great Christmas Carols. Yes, we get to witness to the folks that come. The play this year is called "Saving Santa". My statement to those in the dining rooms yesterday was "this Santa was already saved!" And yes, it drew applause and not for me, but because I am saved and the people knew exactly what I meant. God is good, and we need to keep working for Him till all have received the good news.

Staying Attached 4: John 15:6 - "If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." (NIV)

When I was a child (yes, when the streets were still dirt), I can remember the smell of burning branches and leaves around our house in the fall. Most often this would be on a Saturday when people were home from work. Leaves were raked, and folks, let me remind you that those leaves which are dry were not long before nice and green but they became detached from the vine and once detached they withered and died. Also dead limbs were pulled and other bad branches were trimmed from the trees. Bushes were cut back and all were put into piles and burnt. Most often now we cannot burn those things at home and we should compost our leaves, and the branches that are put into the trash go to the incinerators and burnt.

Now why does Jesus tell this about the branches in the Bible and how they were gathered and burnt? I truly believe that what Jesus is telling us here, and remember He told us and I used that scripture yesterday, and here it is again... John 15:6 - "I am the vine; you are the branches." (NIV) I believe that He is just telling us that if we do not remain in Him, if we wither and die because we have become detached from Him, we will be tossed in the fire.., in the lake of fire. Let me spell it out... we will be SENT TO HELL AND BURNED. Can I be any clearer than that, my dear brothers and sisters? I have never been known for soft soaping what I write. My Bible footnotes soften it up a tad, it states this. "These branches probably do not represent true believers". Wow, how brilliant, no it surely does not represent a true believer, for if we remain in Christ and of course then He in us, we will be still attached to the vine, to Jesus. We will not be the dead branch put in the fire, we will be the beautiful branch that is bearing fruit and then getting into Heaven. Yes, heaven is our reward for repenting of sin and staying attached to Jesus... going to hell is the reward for not being attached to Jesus. BROTHERS AND SISTERS... are you attached to the vine today, or are you a dead branch laying at the bottom of a tree? Folks, one thing you need to know, God is a great and wonderful doctor and if you are one of those dead or dying branches laying on the ground, have faith, fall in love with Jesus and ask Him into your life and heart. Yes, this wonderful Savior of ours will attach you or reattach you back to The Vine and you again can bear fruit. You see, that is one big difference between a tree and we. How about it, let's take time right now and go to Jesus, let's clean up our acts right now and REPENT FROM SIN and walk with Jesus. Are you walking daily by Jesus side? Are you washed in the Blood of The Lamb? Let's get a wash job now. Come on, this is an "I" prayer, not a "we" prayer.

Dear Father in Heaven, please, please forgive me of my sins, wash me white with the blood of The Lamb, our Lord Jesus, attach us to the vine so we might bear fruit, the fruit that Jesus wants us to bear. Lord, in the name of Jesus, SAVE ME. Lord, Clean me, and Lord, help me help others to Your feet. Lord, thanks for watching over those on our prayer list and thanks for healing also our pets. Lord, be with families today, be with the families on this line, be with the families that Carry The Light will be helping and be with the families that are helping with that mission. Lord, use us... In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Now go forth and share those blessings, helping others and repenting from sins. Do not be a dead branch and be tossed into the fire... Be alive and alive in Jesus, Amen... love ya, dan.

Wednesday: Staying Attached 3

"I am the vine: you are the branches."

Good Morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and the sleigh rolls out today from the Southern Location of the North Pole as we start our run at Allenberry Playhouse. Please keep us in your prayers as this is one of our main fund raisers for the food pantry. Praise God, for He heard our prayers and answered them yesterday as we were warmly welcomed at the school yesterday with our meeting with the counselors. They are not only working with us to help choose families to receive food, they are going to try and get each school to collect food for the pantry... Thank You Jesus.

Today is Wednesday and that means it is Salvation Wednesday on this line, the day we pray for the souls of the lost, and we pray for them to come to Jesus and for us to be used in the fields of Harvest for Jesus. Prayers also today for Ann, for Leann, for Cindy (cancer) and for Toby (K9). Toby is the beloved Yorkie of our ministry partner Pamela Bower, and he is undergoing very serious surgery today.

I have been asked over the years, do you really pray for dogs? Yes, on this line we do pray for them, as they are indeed family to us who love our pets...

Tomorrow is family day... Need prayers for family members, send them in for tomorrow..

Staying Attached 3: John 15:5 - "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (NIV)

Jesus puts it very clear here to me that if we do not stay attached to Him, we can do nothing. I want to relate a few stories of my own experience. Many times I have gotten up in the morning with some goals for work around the house. Being in such a hurry to get it started so I could get done, I hurried out without praying for help with the work I was going to do. And folks, it would just not go well. I would get under a vehicle to work on it and forget my tools, I would get a wrench and try and get a bolt off and could not break it loose. I would pull the drain plug and the oil would run down over my face and arms (stop laughing), then I would get out from under the car and spin around getting up on my knees and stop to talk to God... I am sorry Lord, but I tried to do this without You and I just cannot get it done. Then I asked for help and the day would turn around.

A few years back Carry The light was set to sing at a retirement home in Carlisle, we were still using the tapes for background music. We always open a concert in prayer asking Jesus to be with us. This day I just forgot. That day we started with "In The Garden". I pushed the play button on the tape player and it started, we started to sing and the door to the tape player came open and the tape came out. I rewound it and hit the play again and again it started to play and then the door came open and the tape fell out. Again I tried and again the old tape player door came open. Then we remembered we did not pray. So we prayed and prayed. Then I rewound the tape and hit the play button again, and this time, it worked. Jesus was just not going to let us have a concert that day without asking Him to be part of it. Folks, that is not a made up example, that is a very true story.

Brothers and sisters, take this very seriously, when Jesus speaks we need to really listen. So often in prayer, we pray and pray but forget to take time to listen. And the same when (and if) we read the Bible. Here it is very easy for me to understand. If we remain in Jesus, He will remain in us. If we part from Him WE ARE NOTHING. They are very strong words coming from our Lord, very strong, and folks, Jesus means what He tells us and He tells us what He means. Again this week as we are talking about staying attached, be careful of Satan's workers who want to prune you right from Jesus. Brothers and sisters, you just cannot have it both ways, but many will. You cannot walk with Jesus and walk with Satan at the same time. It just does not work. Jesus went to the cross for us, what did Satan do for us... NOTHING, but he does have neat things he puts in front of us. Let's pray about it.

Dear Father in Heaven, how we love You and how we need to stay with You, so Lord, we want to hold Your nail scarred hand today and we want You to hold our hand as we go through this day, and Lord, we want to do it each day. Lord we pray today a praise prayer thanking You for all You do and for opening the doors for us at a public school. Lord, use us this day to lead in others that are lost, and Lord, keep us safe and in Your arms as we work those fields. Lord, I pray today for Ann and for Leann as they need Your touch, and I pray for Cindy who has cancer, and Lord, for You to touch and heal little Toby... We know You love our pets or You would not have made them. Lord, have a nice day, and thanks for giving us a nice one. Lord, may we make Your day better by staying away from sin. In the name of Jesus I pray... Amen.

Now go forth, staying attached to "The Vine" and walking with Him... and of course seeking out the lost and also sharing your blessings. Love ya, dan.
