Salvation Wednesday 12/16/15 The Big Trip (10)

Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give thanks to You this day for all You have done for us. Please be with and watch over all readers of this line and please bless the messages I write for You to them. Make them understandable to them and Lord, I pray that they might even be reused over and over again. Please heal those on the line that need Your touch, be it physical or mental, and I pray that they will all follow Jesus in all they do each and every day. Lord, please be with our Matthew and help him. Thanks for sending Bill and Joni to see us. Please bless those twins. Please be with the ongoing operations of Carry The Light Ministries, Lord, as we do want to keep it going for You. Please place Your healing hand upon Dolores, and please keep Doug Wotring safe as he travels. Lord, please forgive me of my sins and help keep me walking toward the cross daily. Please help me now with the message and then please help me to get it dispatched. And Lord, on this our Salvation Wednesday help us to work even  harder to bring in the lost to Your feet. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and pray. Amen.

Dear brothers and sisters: I love Jesus and I love all of you. I just need to tell all of you that every now and then. Thanks for letting me into your life and home through these messages. If you had told me years and years ago that a person who struggles to read and understand could become a writer for Jesus, I would have questioned that. However, once I fell in love with Jesus and asked Him into my life, I have found out in real time, "all things are possible with Jesus!" What a beautiful December. I am so excited. I have a goal I want to set for next year and that would involve going back out singing some, not concerts, but some sing-alongs at retirement homes. I miss them. I  have not even talked to Dolores about that; however, knowing her, I am sure God willing she would love it. Okay, let me get to the message. The Big Trip! Please remember it is Salvation Wednesday. Oh, and if you want to go to midweek church without leaving your home, try Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, on Verizon it is channel 297. On tonight at 8:00 PM.

Salvation Wednesday: December 16, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Ten)

Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (NIV)

Wow, I was out in the barn talking with Clyde and some of the other animals and we heard the humans talking about taking this big trip to register for something called a census. We were talking about Quirinius who was governor and saying to each other that this must be a way of raising taxes on the humans. It is nice that we do not need to pay taxes! I got to thinking and we were all sitting around talking about which of we animals would be going on the trip. I have heard it will be a long trip and I know Mary is with child, a very special child. I can't stop wondering, will a donkey get the call to carry her, surely she would not walk all that distance. Maybe they will call on my friend Clyde the camel or maybe even Trigger, Champion, Silver, or another one of the horses in the barn with me. (Okay, so I liked Roy Rogers, Gene Autrey, and the Lone Ranger. But don't tell everyone that.) Hee haw, hee haw. I was laughing because Clyde said maybe I would get the call. Me, I said, why me? And they reminded me that out of all of us, I was the smoothie of the bunch. Anyway, we knew that Joseph would do what was right, for this man loved us, but he really loved Mary, and when they were together you could just see the gleam in their eyes for each other and they also love God so very, very much. I would watch them and they would pray together a lot, and Joseph even prayed when doing his barn work. Do you folks know that we animals depend on God each day? Yes, we depend on God to put us in homes where we will be taken care of. I have noticed lately and have mentioned it to Clyde that Joseph seemed to be feeding us extra grain lately, and maybe he is getting us ready for a long ride. I would think he would use Clyde for he can travel long distances and can carry heavy loads. The other day old Moo Moo asked me a few questions. First, she was wondering if she might be going along and then she mentioned something about my hair changing. My dark hair was getting light stripes down my back and across my front shoulders. Gosh, it was looking more and more like a cross. How about all of you, have you ever noticed the cross on my back or on the back of my brother and sister donkeys? Well, look, I have a few questions that I want to put in your mind today. One is do you know how many kings will come right to the birthplace of this special child? You can get those facts from your Bible. I also am wondering about this thing called a census that Joseph and Mary and all others must go to. Wow, those people getting registered to be taxed, that never stopped, did it? This governor in Pennsylvania named Wolf is trying to raise them even now. He is talking about taxing things that God gave us. Can you believe that? God gives us free things as He said He will provide all our needs, and those people in Washington, DC, and in the State Houses, want to tax all of God's free gifts. Well, my human brothers and sisters, there is still no tax on Salvation through Jesus Christ, there is no tax gathered at The Cross of Calvary. No, this gift is free. We will learn more about this on The Big Trip. Look, I must start packing. I just found out that, I, the lowly donkey, has been picked by Joseph to transport Mary on this long trip. I want to shake out my very best blanket for her to sit on. Oh, gosh, I am getting nervous. Help me, Clyde, help me find a really nice blanket.

Well, brothers and sisters, you can see that Donkey Dan has received the call to transport Mary to register to pay taxes. He better be on his very best behavior for what an honor among animals to be the very first animal to give the Baby, The Baby Jesus, His very first ride. Anyway, I want to tell everyone that I, Donkey Dan, have been chosen to transport Mary, so I think I will "Go Tell It on The Mountain."

Go tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere!
Go tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is near.

(Yes, I have changed that last word to near. Please remember at this point in the trip Jesus has not yet been born.)

Dear Father in Heaven: Please guide all of our feet so that we might keep walking with Jesus daily and not slip and slide back, for we want to hold on tight to You and walk in the light each and every day, and Lord, we confess that some days are harder than others. In Jesus' Name, we pray and ask You to hold onto us. Amen.

Please go forth now and love and serve Jesus. And please keep singing. It makes each day go better. Love ya.

Pastor Dan

Go tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere!
Go tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is near.
