Dear Father in Heaven: The last day of another year is upon us. Tonight many people, and a lot of them Christians, will give in to Satan's best drink, alcohol, and maybe even smoke pot and do other dumb stuff. I pray today that they will think about what is going into their bodies today and each day. I pray that You will watch over them and protect them in their stupid things they do. And Lord, thanks for watching over all of us when we do stupid things and sin and mes up. Help us to act and be in step with You. Lord, I love You and I pray that even on this last day of the year through this line some lost soul will be led in and confess their love for You. Please bring peace to the world tonight and into the new year. Please help me now with the daily message and then to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray and also give praise for all you have done for me and those under this roof during this past year. I love You, Lord. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, as we leave 2015 and head into a new year, I want to thank all of you for your love and prayers and for standing by us as we struggled with health problems this past year. We thank you for praying over and over again for Matthew and ask that you keep him in your prayers. As we enter the new year, I plan on being at the keyboard at least five days a week. After so many years doing this, I really look for ways to keep the messages new and interesting. However, with that said, what I write now and forever, as long as our Lord God lets me do this, I am going to write about The Cross and about Salvation through Jesus on the Cross and write so that more and more people will join us at the Cross and then someday we can all get together in Heaven for a really big peaceful reunion with Jesus. That is what it is all about. Amen!!!
Once again I want to tell you all that I love you, I really do. More than that, I love Jesus. The message today that God is just now planting on me will be a message about dumping our burdens upon the Lord and then going into 2016 without picking them back up. Let me get to the message now.
Thursday: December 31, 2015: The Big Trip (Day Eighteen)
Galatians 6:1 - Brothers (sisters), if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him (her) gently. But watch yourself, or you may be tempted. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV)
We know that we are to give our burdens over to the Lord, so why then am I pointing this scripture out to you today? Well, first God pointed it out to me. So often once we are saved we can slip and trip and fall. Others who are saved, meaning spiritual, should be running to those who have messed up and try and pick them up and get them back on track. Most often what happens is one Christian will find something out about another person, saved or unsaved, and instead of helping them, they go and step on them and put them down even more. Now how does someone step on a person who is down? I feel the number one way is by gossip! You know it happens, and in large offices or break rooms that can be a breeding ground for this. I want to bring this out. If you mess up, and all of us do!! You only need to confess it to our LORD JESUS. The more people who find out you messed up, the more the gossip grows. Sometimes we must watch that our "best friend does not become our worst enemy."
Also in this scripture I want to pint out about this part. "But watch yourself, or you may be tempted." Let me say if you at one time had a real drinking problem, and through the power of Jesus Christ and you becoming saved, you have been cleaned of your problem. Then you hear of a brother or sister who is going to bars and drinking heavily and you want to help them kick the habit. One thing you must watch would be going into the bar to help them. This could bring on a pressure to you that you could not handle and you might slip and fall. I think you all understand that. We need to help each other, hold up each other and not stomp on them.
Psalm 38:4 - My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. (NIV)
Here in this scripture we can see how sin can overwhelm people. Some to the pint that the guilt is too heavy for you to bear on your own. On this your answer is to get on your knees and go to prayer and give this over to God and talk it over with Him. You might need to do this over and over again. And if this is about maybe breaking a law of man, you might even need to unload that burden to the police. I want to bring this out, there is NO SIN BURDEN TOO BAD THAT GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE IT, EXCEPT DENYING CHRIST! Also no sin is that bad that one should take their own life.
Now look at this scripture.
Psalm 68:19 - Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior who daily bears our burdens. (NIV)
God will carry our burdens and trust me, He knows them before we get them. Even when we feel overwhelmed, He is already on-board helping we who are trusting Him to help us daily. Over the years I have wondered who those non-believers turn to when they are over-burdened. When a non-believer has a death in the family, who do they turn to? Many things have happened in my life, and I am learning more and more to lean on Jesus. More and more, as we grow older, we grow deeper and deeper in love with Jesus. Tomorrow we are going to talk about some "rest for the weary."
Tonight, go to God, not to a bar. No hanger in that!! Now let us lean on God.
Dear Father in Heaven, we need to learn to lean more and more on You each and every day. Please help us with that and help me to get the messages out about doing that. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth, counting your blessings from last year, serving Jesus and loving Him and praying for a wonderful and blessed by God new year. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 12/30/15 The Big Trip (17)
Dear Father in Heaven: Please forgive me of my sins. I love You, Father, and I love You, Jesus. Please send the Holy Spirit over me right now and cause me to write this message for You and from You. Please help me to direct it to the hands of those who will read it and maybe even share it with others. Please, Lord, on this day we call Salvation Wednesday and the last one of those in the year of our Lord 2015, help us to bring the unsaved and the lost to the feet of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thanks for yesterday, and Lord, thanks for trusting me to work the fields of Harvest for You. We in this household are "Born Again," washed in The Blood of Jesus believers and confess to You this day our sins. We do this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, can you believe it, another year has come and gone. Another year past with just two days remaining. On these last two days, the best thing you could do would be try your very best to lead someone to the Lord. Please remember we have Christmas only because of Jesus, and the only reason He was born here on earth was to love us and go to the cross and take our sins with Him. In other words, our Lord Jesus "WAS BORN TO DIE SO WE MIGHT LIVE!!!" I know that it seems sometimes and more so at the holiday period that we are all alone. Fear not, my brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus will never leave nor forsake us.
Someone could just shout AMEN & PRAISE THE LORD.
So let me get right to the message. Today, more on those kings and gifts.
Matthew 2:1-12 New International Version (NIV)
The Magi Visit the Messiah
2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him."
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written:
6 "'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.'
7 Then Herod called the magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the child. As son as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. (NIV)
The magi or kings brought forth their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh and presented them to Jesus who had been named Jesus by Joseph and Mary as told by the Angel Gabriel and recorded in our Bibles. By the way, do you agree with me on this one? Our Bible is the best history book of all history books barring none? Do you know that if man and woman would have lived by the commands of our God right from the start there would have been no pain at childbirth, no weeds in the garden, no need for the really big flood and there would have been no need for Jesus to have gone to the cross for you and for me? While it is known that Jesus is the reason for the season, we need to look closely in the mirror for we also are the reason for the season. Think about that, if I just came out and said that you and I are the reason for the season, people would laugh at us, but if you put it this way, why did Jesus come to this earth? To go to the cross and die for you and for me. Had we not been sinners, Jesus would not have had to been sent down to die for us. So are we or are we not a real part of the reason for the season?
As for the gifts, the greatest gift ever given was when God sent His Son Jesus to die for us and the gift occurred on the cross. Then the gift was risen from the dead so that someday we will be risen from the dead. As we give gifts to each other, regardless of when they are given and for what reason, the gifts should always come from one's heart. It is not the cost of the gift that counts but the reason why the giver gave it. As I said, the greatest gift ever given was the gift of Jesus to us and Jesus giving His life for us. Then after that all the men and women of our military and our police units and our firefighters who over the years have been willing to give it all up to and including their very own lives. So as we are about to go into a New Year, 2016, I want to give you something to really think about. A lot of people will make those New Year's resolutions about doing things. Lose weight, work out, stop smoking, etc. Well, how about this one? Why not getting together and trying to "walk in the light of Jesus" and live to be "more like Him"? How about being kinder to your parents, or your children, your neighbor, or maybe even your animals? Do you tie up your dog to a dog box in your yard? Go out tonight and sleep with the dog. Try, when giving gifts to others that you would give this one gift above all else. This gift is worth more than gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and if you do not know what that gift might be, I am going to tell you right now.
The greatest gift you can give another is ... The Gift of Love!!! And it will not cost you any money. It might cost you some time or it might cause you to say the word love and really, really mean it. How about it, will you join me next year in trying your best to Love more and to love all others as directed by our Lord Jesus in those great commandments? Will you?
Dear Father in Heaven: Please teach me to Love more and to love more in the name of Jesus. Help me to be able to love others, even those who might not even like me or might even hate me. Help me pray for others and walk in the light of Jesus so that people know that I am indeed a child of God. I ask this and pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Now please go forth loving others and of course loving Jesus and singing these words today. Love ya.

Love Lifted Me (James Rowe, Howard Smith)
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore;
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more.
But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry.
From the waters listed me! Now safe am I!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!
All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I'll cling;
In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true merits my soul's best songs.
Faithful loving service too to Him belongs.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!

Monday 12/28/15 The Big Trip (16)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give You all the glory for the fact I am Born Again. However, I do need help walking with You daily. Some days are easy, and some days can be hard. I am so thrilled that You never ever leave me alone to fend for myself. Thanks for all Your blessings. Please keep Your healing hand on Mindy and heal her. Be with her family as they struggle. Please give Dolores and me guidance in what we have been pondering. Help me now with the messages of the Big Trip as we move on from the Manger. Help me also to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, all honor and glory and praise and prayer. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, it is time to get back into my own skin and out of that warm coat of "Donkey Dan." As we drove past many churches that display the Nativity in front of the church, most all of them are incorrect according to the Bible. Most all show Mary, Joseph, Jesus, some shepherds, and also three wise men or kings holding gifts. The real fact are, well, let us save it for the messages of the next few days. Some time ago I asked all of you how many Kings were at the manger for the birth of Jesus. The answer was ONE and of course that was KING JESUS. So as I get back to the message let us start with that part.
Monday: December 28, 2015: The Big Trip by Pastor Dan (Day Sixteen)
Luke 2:21 - On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise Him, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived. 22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord."), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord "a pair of doves or two young pigeons." (NIV)
Matthew 2:1 - After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." 3 When King Herod head this he was disturbed and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. 5 In Bethlehem in Judea, they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written." 6 But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, you can see that Jesus, along with Mary and Joseph, were at the manger only a few days, and then were moved on so that on the eighth day Jesus could be circumcised. This was to fulfill the Law of Moses which is still why male babies are circumcised. So they went to Jerusalem and lived in a house for awhile. Today we are going to sing about the Three Kings, but again and tomorrow we will dig further into the scriptures and find that we are not sure how many kings came to visit King Jesus after He had been relocated. We know there were three gifts, and the word kings means more than one. So it could have been two or a hundred and two, that is not important, it is the gifts that were important, and to me, not what they were, although they were the best, the important part is that a gift or gifts were given. How long has it been since you offered up a gift of any kind to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior? So let us sing today. I must tell you that when I was but a child, I did have a bad day now and then. One day we wee singing this song in Sunday School and I sang it like this.
"We three kings of Orient are
smoking on rubber cigars.
one was loaded and exploded,
following yonder star.
We two kings of Orient are
smoking on rubber cigars.
One was loaded and exploded.
I am king of Orient are
smoking on a rubber cigar.
It was loaded and exploded,
No more kings to smoke."
(But a rear to spank.)
So now we do it right.
We Three Kings of Orient Are (John Hopkins 1820-1891)
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Fields and fountain, moor and mountain,
following yonder star.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Born a King on Bethlehem's plain,
God I bring to crown Him again.
King forever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Frankincense to offer have I,
Incense owns a Deity nigh,
Prayer and praising, all men raising,
Worship Him, God on High.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom.
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying.
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Glorious now, behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice.
Al-le-lu-ia, Al-le-lu-ia!
Peals through the earth and skies.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light.
Dear Father in Heaven, please accept these gifts offered up from our home this day, and please help them to be used to share the love of Jesus and to lead people to the Cross of Jesus to be saved. We love You, Lord, and speaking for those on this line, I believe they all love You also. All glory and honor is Yours this day, dear Lord. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
Now brothers and sisters, please go forth and share the love of Jesus and love Him and all others with all your heart, soul, and might. Love ya.

Love ya.

Christmas Day 2015
Dear Father in Heaven: Thanks for the blessing of Jesus and all the blessings that have come from You and Him and The Holy Ghost. May I always walk with You Three and follow Your lead. Yes, I will need Your help. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen and Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: It is indeed Christmas Day 2015 and all over the world people need prayer and they need to turn to Jesus to get peace. Today I am taking a break from being Donkey Dan and the Big Trip. However, the Big Trip is not finished. Indeed, it is just getting started. Today I just want to sing two songs and share a blessing with all of you.
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday to You: Happy Birthday to You:
Happy Birthday, Dear Jesus,
Happy Birthday to You!!!
(Now the same tune and with words He is just now giving me)
Be with us, Dear Lord: Be with us, Dear Lord:
Be with us, Dear Lord: Be with us, Dear Lord!
Away In a Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed.
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus sleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes.
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
and stay by my cradle 'til morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
and take us to heaven to live with Thee there.
Happy Birthday to You: Happy Birthday to You:
Happy Birthday, Dear Jesus,
Happy Birthday to You!!!
Dear Father in Heaven: Today I pray God's richest blessing on all of those who use this line and also their families. On this day I also pray for our leaders, our military, our first responders, our police and all who look after us. I pray first for their Salvation and that indeed they are "Born Again." I pray then for their safety and that of their families. I pray also for President Obama and his wife and family. Yes, today I pray for "worldwide peace," which means I am praying for the Lord to return. Beyond that I pray we will all strive to work even harder to get the Word of Jesus to the world. I give thanks this day for all the blessings You have sent our way, too many to even remember and count, but all appreciated. I ask blessings upon all the pastors and church leaders who follow this line and who when I call on always help me. And I pray also that this great nation will return to God, for then according to Your Word we will be blessed even more. I give praise, I sing, and I ask my prayers in the Mighty, Mighty Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Now please go forth loving and serving Jesus and others. Love ya.

Christmas Eve 12/24/15 The Big Trip (15)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I ask this day for forgiveness of my sins. I give You all praise and glory, not just for this season, but all seasons of the year and all seasons of our lives. Lord, this young girl, Mindy Herman Scherrer, today we are placing her in Your hands for healing. She has been in the hospital a long time, and medications were given incorrectly. We believe that the only chance she has here on earth is by Your healing hand. So today we pray for just that, and of course all honor and glory will be Yours. Please help me now with the message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In the mighty, mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, a former bus driver of mine needs your prayers and lots and lots of those prayers. Her name is Mindy, and she is the daughter of Ron and Hilda Herman. Please pray for her parents and also her daughter.
Today, 25 years ago at 1:20 PM in Lower Paxton Township I was involved in a life-changing motorcycle accident. Praise God, He spared my life and then more than that He put me to work full-time for Him. yes, the pain has been really bad, the drugs have been hard to take and five failed back operations have made the pain even worse. But with all that said, I am a better man for that accident. And to God be the glory for that. That is why one one of my most loved scriptures is Romans 8:28.
Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all thins God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. (NIV) And to quote the first line of a song, "All things come together for good for those who love the Lord." Thank You, Jesus, Praise You, Jesus. Amen and Amen.
Well, let me get to the message and remember I am using the same scripture again today.
Christmas Eve: December 24 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Fifteen)
Luke 2:4 - So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because he belonged to the home and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there the time came for the Baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
For the last two days I wrote about there being no room at the inn, and yesterday I went beyond that and talked about other places that seem to have no room for Jesus. I mentioned public schools, I mentioned government, federal, state and local including our courtrooms that now have no room for Jesus. Of course it goes without saying you will not see Jesus invited into a Planned Parenthood center, no, there would be no room for Him there. But the one place that really concerns me, the one place that REALLY, REALLY CONCERNS ME is this!
A good many people just do not have room for Jesus in their hearts, in their very lives. Even this time of year some take their children to see Santa but do not let them hear about our Savior called Jesus Christ. They just do not have any room for Him. No room at the dinner table, not even a minute to thank Him for the food or the day. Not even a minute to give thanks for their lives. They just do not have room for Him. Someday these same people, if they do not change and MAKE ROOM FOR HIM, will find out there is NO ROOM IN HEAVEN FOR THEM. There are warnings about this in the Bible. Here is one:
John 14:6 - Jesus answered: "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (NIV)
Please, please do not put it off. MAKE ROOM FOR JESUS TODAY AND PLEASE INVITE HIM IN. I am going to ask you to do something today that I don't believe I have ever done before. I am going to lead you in a sinners' prayer and ask you to pray it in faith, either to make room for Jesus this time or to renew in Him today. He will surely welcome you into His loving arms today if YOU MAKE ROOM IN YOUR HEART FOR HIM. After this prayer I am going to lead you in a great song for Christmas Eve. And then I am going to sign off by wishing you a Merry Christmas. Today I want to go this one step further. I am asking you to email me and tell me this. I HAVE MADE ROOM FOR HIM. HE, OUR JESUS, IS WELCOME AT OUR PLACE AND IN OUR HEARTS. Will you please do that for me this Christmas? Here is the prayer.
Dear Father in Heaven, I come to You and I confess I am a sinner and I am asking to be saved. I do believe in God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Ghost. I also believe that Jesus died on the cross for me to save me from my sins and I believe that You, dear Father in Heaven, raised Jesus from the dead. I have my Bible and I believe what is in it. I have made room in my heart for Jesus. In Jesus' Name, I pray and ask that my name is placed in the Lamb's Book of Life. Thank You. Amen.
Now let us sing a couple of verses of Silent Night.
Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright.
'Round yon virgin, mother and Child,
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in Heavenly peace, Sleep in Heavenly peace.
Silent night! Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar.
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia.
Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night! Holy night! Son of God, Love's pure Light.
Radiant beams from Thy Holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace.
Jesus Lord at Thy Birth, Jesus Lord at Thy Birth.
Silent night! Holy night! All is dark save the Light.
Yonder where they sweet vigils keep
O'er the Babe who in silent sleep
Rests in Heavenly peace, rests in Heavenly peace.
Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright.
'Round yon virgin, mother and Child,
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in Heavenly peace, Sleep in Heavenly peace.
Please go forth now and love and serve Jesus. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 12/23/15 The Big Trip (14)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give praise and honor to You for loving me and loving all others. Sometimes during a holiday season we feel left alone, lost from others and thinking back on those who have departed from earth or maybe just for one reason or another have departed from our lives. I pray that people will remember Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us and that You comfort all who are feeling lonely during this time of year. Lord, please wrap Your loving arms around all of us and bring us the warmth that only true love can bring. Please help me with the message and then, Lord, please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, I want to take time and thank all of you for the nice notes you have sent via the computer and also by U.S. Mail. I want to thank all of you who rode out the hard/low time I walked through this past June and July. Trust me when I tell all of you they were and are appreciated. Some of you I know and have never met face to face. Someday that will happen. "When we all get to heaven," oh what a joyful time we will have. AMEN. Can you believe it is December 23rd already? And of course it is Wednesday so that makes it "Salvation Wednesday" on this line. Please go to prayer for the souls of the unsaved. Let me get to the message.
Salvation Wednesday: December 23, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Fourteen)
(NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I am going back to a scripture that I have used already on this big trip, and I will be using the same scripture tomorrow. The main verses I want to use from this scripture are:
Luke 2:6 - While they were there the time came for the Baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (NIV)
My Subtitle for the message is "No Room."
Looking back to my days of childhood and my days at the 29th Street United Brethren Church in Harrisburg, PA (now 29th Street United Methodist Church) and remembering the Christmas season, what I remember being told the most was Jesus was born and He was born in a barn and placed in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn. Yes, we talked about the Virgin Birth and Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus, but at that age I am not sure I even knew what a virgin was. On this Christmas day, Christmas day 2015, I would think there will be a lot of children born in the open or in camps because there was no room in a hospital or they could not afford to be in a hospital. So even with everything that we have, babies are still being born where there is no room. Or even worse, how many might be aborted because the mother might think she has no room in her life for a baby. But for a few short minutes I want to look at the "No Room" part about Jesus. On that first Christmas that was the first time there was no room for Jesus. How many times has it happened since that date?
The first place I want to bring up that I can think about is our public schools. Starting a lot of years back and pretty much put upon us by Madeline Murray O'Hara who pushed and pushed to have the Bible reading taken out of schools and also the daily prayers that were said after the Bible reading. So we look back and think that was a start and each year after that more and more schools had "No Room" for Jesus. Back about nine or ten years ago Dolores, looking like Mrs. Claus, and me, looking like old Santa, pulled our big Eagle Bus up to Lawnton Elementary School to go in for a Santa visit. The new principal came out to greet us at the bus door and told me, "This year you cannot say anything about Jesus." The children could be seen heading to the assembly for this meeting with Santa. So the Pastor in me came forth and said, "If I can't talk to the kids about Jesus, we are not going in." And then I added, "You can tell the kids why." Now this lady I think feared for her job, but I am not sure about that. Anyway, we went in and in closing I talked about Jesus. On the way out the principal greeted me again and said you will NOT be invited back next year. You see, Lawnton Elementary School, part of the big Central Dauphin School District, had now made the statement that there was "NO ROOM." Yes, no room for Jesus. Room for "Holiday Trees" but do not call them Christmas Trees. Room for Santa and candy canes and reindeer, but NO ROOM FOR JESUS.
More and more we are seeing this happen. The Ten Commandments being removed from our Courthouse walls. Why? Because it might offend someone. NO ROOM FOR JESUS. WELL, THAT OFFENDS ME!!! AMEN. Over the years on a lot of town squares there have been Nativity displays set up. One by one they are not being put up. Why? "NO ROOM" FOR JESUS!!! Brothers and sisters, even in some churches you hear less and less about Jesus, and why? Because it seems that there is NO ROOM FOR HIM!!!
Here are but a few places that since that very first Christmas there has been NO ROOM for Jesus.
The First Inn. Public Schools. Public Hospitals. (Praise God for the Holy Spirit Hospital.) Government, National, State and Local. Some stores are saying NO ROOM FOR JESUS by not letting the Salvation Army ring bells in front of their stores. Others, the employees are told not to say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" but to say Happy Holidays instead. Tomorrow, on Christmas Eve, we will be talking about some of the same things and one of the biggest places worldwide who have the sign out NO ROOM HERE FOR JESUS!!! Do you know where that might be? Let me know.
Dear Father in Heaven: There is room on this line and in this home for You. Come on in, the welcome mat is out. I pray all who read this will pray the same thing. Welcome, Jesus, and Father, I do that in the wonderful Name of Jesus. Amen.
Now go forth and love and serve Jesus. Love ya.

Tuesday 12/22/15 The Big Trip (13)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I want to give thanks to You for teaching me what it means to love not just You but all others. Dear Father, please help Dolores with her health problems by healing them and taking away her pain. Please also place Your healing hand on Vicki and all others who are reading this line and need Your touch for healing. Please, Lord, help me know and understand the Bible even more in the coming year. Please, Lord, help me now with the daily message and then, Lord, please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, what a great day! Some rain that I did not need to shovel! Another warm day and the heat did not go on very often! We had food for on the table! And I had a couple of Diet Cherry Pepsi Colas to drink. I also have a Lord and Savior who died for me! Other than the Pepsi, you folks more than likely were blessed the same way. Did you stop and give God glory for it? Sometimes we forget to give thanks to the very one who gave/gives us the most. Sorry, Lord. Amen. I want to get right to the message.
Tuesday: December 22, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Thirteen)
Today is the first full day of winter, and starting today the days will be getting longer.
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. (NIV)
John 1:14 - The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the Glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (NIV)
Dear brothers and sisters: As we near Christmas Day 2015 I do want to look back and show you just where you find in the Bible about Jesus being around from the beginning. If you take time to read the scriptures above you will see that. While we do not know the exact date that Jesus was born, we do have record of His birth and the facts about it. One of the greatest events of all time was when God became flesh and dwelt with us. And brothers and sisters, all these events led up to Jesus going to the cross for you and for me. The day The Word became flesh, I SAID THE DAY THE WORD BECAME FLESH, we have learned to call that day "Christmas" even though a lot of people are afraid to say MERRY CHRISTMAS. If you really want to know the real facts, sometimes you need to do some figuring on your own. In reality, Jesus became flesh when the Holy Spirit overpowered Mary and made her in the motherly way. Yes, that was then a baby in that womb and today when a child is started in the womb they are just that. A BABY, REAL LIVE FLESH AND BLOOD. We have a lot of people who call themselves Christians and say they believe in Jesus, and they also believe in abortion. Brothers and sisters, YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!!! Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania, you know, the one who wants to raise the heck out of your taxes, has put a temporary stop to all scheduled executions. Yes, this same governor supports abortion rights. Is abortion not a planned execution?
All throughout our Bible, the Inspired Word of God, we are instructed to Love God, Love People, all people, which would include those unborn babies. We are also to be Christ-like. So let me ask you this. Do you think Jesus approves of abortion? I don't think so. Please, brothers and sisters, please try and walk in the light of Jesus, and try your best to live for Him and like Him. And when you might slip and slide, get up, hold tighter to Jesus and pray that he forgives you. AND HE WILL. Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven, so many people want it both ways. On Sunday they go to church, and the other six days they lock you out. Please forgive all who do just that, and I know, Lord, it is done for long ago I did that same thing. Please help me to get the Word out, Your Word out that You are a full-time God. And as for Satan, he is just fool-time. Help us, Lord, and we ask that in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Now go forth loving and serving Jesus in all you do. Love ya.
Pastor Dan
Here are a few words to a chorus that I made up the other day. I have a tune in my heart and mind for it.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
He was born in the barn and lived a simple life,
Walking from town to town.
Showing His love to everyone,
But He wound up on a tree.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
What He did while He was here He did for you and me.
He showed us how we should live, and when He was done
He spread His arms out wide and died on the tree for us.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
From the Manger to the Cross, From the Manger to the Cross,
From the Manger to the Old Rugged Cross.
P.S. Tomorrow is Salvation Wednesday and also Christmas Eve Eve!
(NIV)

Monday 12/21/15 The Big Trip (12)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You! Please, dear Father, forgive me of my sins. Thanks for all that You do for all of us. Thanks for helping me throughout each and every day. Thanks for helping me with messages and may each and every message be for and also about You, and Salvation, Grace and Mercy through Jesus Christ. Please help me now with the message of today and then please, dear Lord, help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, February 2015 was the coldest February on record here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. As of right now, December 2015 is the warmest December on record. Now you just know that those in Washington, DC, will look at December forgetting about February and blame it either on 'Global Warming' or, if it is President Obama, he he will for sure blame it on former President George W. Bush. Go figure, because President Obama can't. Brothers and sisters, you do not want to miss the message on Christmas Eve. God has already planted it in my mind.
Tomorrow is the first full day of winter. Hee haw. Only seven more weeks until NASCAR at Daytona and baseball spring training starts.
Monday: December 21, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Twelve)
Luke 2:8 - And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests." (NIV)
Hey Clyde, it happened, the Baby has been born, I said. Clyde said, and what a beautiful little Boy He is, Donkey Dan. And we heard them talking about this special Child when all of a sudden I got chills right down my back. They were so strong my hair stood up. Hey Clyde, I said, I just gave The Christ Child His first ride. At that minute I looked at my back and a cross was formed on it. Wow, I am wondering what does that mean. Someday we will tell all the people. Then I saw a glow out the distance. It was the angel of the Lord, more than likely old Gabriel, and he was telling the shepherds about the birth of a Savior. You know, some people who think they are up-a-de-up might wonder why the shepherds were told first, since they seem to do work nobody else wants to do. They eat, sleep and live in those fields with the sheep herds. For that same reason, I guess, people wonder why Joseph didn't pick a horse to carry Mary on this trip. Well, I guess it is because we donkeys and those shepherds are dependable. I just can't get over the fact that no one would give up their room in the inn for this mother and Child. But Clyde, since they didn't, we did, and I feel pretty good about that, don't you? Look, Clyde, how quiet the Baby is. I have heard the Babe will be called Jesus, did you hear that, Clyde? Yes, I heard that. Look, Mary is feeding the Baby and then putting Him back in that manger. Oh, look now out in the fields, look at the lights, and how bright it is, and you can hear people all the way back here singing and shouting PRAISE BE TO GOD, PRAISE BE TO GOD. What a truly great and wonderful night. Look, here come some shepherds to see the Baby Christ Child. This Good News is spreading fast. Come on, Clyde, wake the horses and sheep and goats and let us shout and dance a little bit ourselves. We can rest later. Let us try and sing like people. Let us show the world some joy.
Joy to the World, the Lord is come.
Let earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and heaven and nature sing.
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love.
Dear Father in Heaven, All glory and honor to You as we receive the Christ Child into the world. Lord, it is great to be living in these times and get a chance to look back to that very first Christmas when Jesus was born. Wow, no room at the inn. I wonder, dear Father, how many times since that night until right now Jesus has heard these words. There is no room for you. Lord Jesus, You are welcome in our home and in our hearts. Lord Jesus, we have room, always have room for You. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now please go forth and serve and love Jesus. And let us sing those verses again. Love ya.

Friday 12/18/15 The Big Trip (11)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Please, Father, forgive me of my sins both known and unknown to me. Lord, help me with daily struggles and help me walk nearer to You each and every day. Lord, I want to be more and more like You. I do not want to walk in darkness and stumble and fall. I want to walk each step in the light of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please help me and all others who are asking to get that done each day. Please help me with the daily message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In the mighty, mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, right to the message this day. Time is flying. Next week, one week from today and Christmas day will be half over. Two weeks after that Dolores will be having her birthday. Wow, still looking good and will be 81. You don't think I am going to tell you, do you? I have been warned!!!
Friday: December 18, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Eleven)
Luke 2:5 - He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him, and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the Baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. (NIV)
Wow, look at me, Donkey Dan, and I have heard about this big trip Joseph had to go on and he had to take Mary along so she could also register. And Mary was bout to have a child. Shh--- Here comes Joseph to the barn to feed us. "Dan, Donkey Dan, where are you?" he called. He patted me on the head and was talking tome about this big job he had for me. I have picked you to carry Mary to Bethlehem, he said. I thought, me, why me? What if I trip and fall? Come on, Clyde, you are going along also, for you will need to carry our supplies. Oh, how Joseph loves Mary, what a great love story. Why, he brushed me and then put this really nice blanket on my back. So Clyde and I followed him to the house. There he and some others who were going to make the trip loaded things on Clyde and a few other camels and donkeys, but nothing was on my back but that blanket. Then Joseph went back into the house one last time, and out he came helping Mary. Gosh, she got big, why she was just a tiny little thing a few months ago. Joseph gave her a kiss and lifted her onto my back. She was sitting sideways. Gosh, I hope I don't fall or even jar her off. Then they all stopped what they were doing and prayed. Give us a safe trip, Father God, I heard Joseph say, and keep our baby safe too. And in my donkey talk I asked God to keep me surefooted and safe and to protect Mary on my back. Joseph took one last look around the barn to be sure those animals that were not going along would have enough to eat and we started out on this trip. I heard it was going to take about three days. You could tell Joseph planned well for he had all the stops laid out so he could get water for them and also water for us. We also had to eat, and when we travel we eat and drink a lot. I really laughed out loud. Hee haw, Hee haw. Old Clyde had been laying down to get loaded and when he got up he passed gas really hard. Gosh, he had the place smelling like a barn. I told him to stop doing that for this future president named Obama would get him for messing up causing green house gases. Anyway, we walked and people talked and we animals talked with each other in our way. I was thinking all along, I just must be careful, no bad steps for me. Then I heard Mary asking how much longer? Joseph told her they would get there the very next day. She sounded happy. You could really tell she was starting to hurt. I noticed that Joseph had loaded an extra blanket on my back. I wonder what that was for? So we stopped for one more night, and then off on the final leg of the trip. Others seemed to go ahead of us. I think Joseph was slowing down so I would not be bouncing Mary as much. Anyway, we arrived. We are here, I could see the sign Bethlehem Hilton just ahead. No, I am funning you folks. But here we are at the Inn. Joseph dropped my lead and came and took Mary down again. He gave her another big kiss. Oh, how he loves this young lady. Then they walked hand in hand into the Inn. I figured that Joseph would get them checked in and then come out and take care of Clyde and me. Wow, he is coming out and Mary is still with him. He put her up on my back again and led me around back to a stable. I heard him tell Mary and some others there were no rooms left in the Inn for them. So Joseph left Mary on my back and went into the stable and looked around. He pulled hay and straw out of the one feeder and put in fresh straw and then he took that extra blanket off my back and put it over the straw. He was making up a small bed. I am thinking, is the child due soon? When he helped Mary down off my back, this time I heard her sort of wince in pain. Some of the animals already in the stable came out to give Mary and Joseph more room. Then Joseph made a bed of straw for Mary. And things got really quiet. Then everyone started to sing. It was indeed a very clear night. Let us sing with them.
It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old.
From angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold.
"Peace on the earth, good will to men, From heaven's all gracious king."
The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing.
Dear Father in Heaven, this Big Trip is so exciting, almost like it is happening right now before our very eyes. Please, Lord, help us to keep peace on this earth until the day of Your return when You will furnish total peace to all who have come to be Born Again. Please help us to spread that great hope and good news. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth loving and serving Jesus. Love ya.

Salvation Wednesday 12/16/15 The Big Trip (10)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give thanks to You this day for all You have done for us. Please be with and watch over all readers of this line and please bless the messages I write for You to them. Make them understandable to them and Lord, I pray that they might even be reused over and over again. Please heal those on the line that need Your touch, be it physical or mental, and I pray that they will all follow Jesus in all they do each and every day. Lord, please be with our Matthew and help him. Thanks for sending Bill and Joni to see us. Please bless those twins. Please be with the ongoing operations of Carry The Light Ministries, Lord, as we do want to keep it going for You. Please place Your healing hand upon Dolores, and please keep Doug Wotring safe as he travels. Lord, please forgive me of my sins and help keep me walking toward the cross daily. Please help me now with the message and then please help me to get it dispatched. And Lord, on this our Salvation Wednesday help us to work even harder to bring in the lost to Your feet. In Jesus' Name, I give thanks and pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: I love Jesus and I love all of you. I just need to tell all of you that every now and then. Thanks for letting me into your life and home through these messages. If you had told me years and years ago that a person who struggles to read and understand could become a writer for Jesus, I would have questioned that. However, once I fell in love with Jesus and asked Him into my life, I have found out in real time, "all things are possible with Jesus!" What a beautiful December. I am so excited. I have a goal I want to set for next year and that would involve going back out singing some, not concerts, but some sing-alongs at retirement homes. I miss them. I have not even talked to Dolores about that; however, knowing her, I am sure God willing she would love it. Okay, let me get to the message. The Big Trip! Please remember it is Salvation Wednesday. Luke 2:1 - In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (NIV)
Wow, I was out in the barn talking with Clyde and some of the other animals and we heard the humans talking about taking this big trip to register for something called a census. We were talking about Quirinius who was governor and saying to each other that this must be a way of raising taxes on the humans. It is nice that we do not need to pay taxes! I got to thinking and we were all sitting around talking about which of we animals would be going on the trip. I have heard it will be a long trip and I know Mary is with child, a very special child. I can't stop wondering, will a donkey get the call to carry her, surely she would not walk all that distance. Maybe they will call on my friend Clyde the camel or maybe even Trigger, Champion, Silver, or another one of the horses in the barn with me. (Okay, so I liked Roy Rogers, Gene Autrey, and the Lone Ranger. But don't tell everyone that.) Hee haw, hee haw. I was laughing because Clyde said maybe I would get the call. Me, I said, why me? And they reminded me that out of all of us, I was the smoothie of the bunch. Anyway, we knew that Joseph would do what was right, for this man loved us, but he really loved Mary, and when they were together you could just see the gleam in their eyes for each other and they also love God so very, very much. I would watch them and they would pray together a lot, and Joseph even prayed when doing his barn work. Do you folks know that we animals depend on God each day? Yes, we depend on God to put us in homes where we will be taken care of. I have noticed lately and have mentioned it to Clyde that Joseph seemed to be feeding us extra grain lately, and maybe he is getting us ready for a long ride. I would think he would use Clyde for he can travel long distances and can carry heavy loads. The other day old Moo Moo asked me a few questions. First, she was wondering if she might be going along and then she mentioned something about my hair changing. My dark hair was getting light stripes down my back and across my front shoulders. Gosh, it was looking more and more like a cross. How about all of you, have you ever noticed the cross on my back or on the back of my brother and sister donkeys? Well, look, I have a few questions that I want to put in your mind today. One is do you know how many kings will come right to the birthplace of this special child? You can get those facts from your Bible. I also am wondering about this thing called a census that Joseph and Mary and all others must go to. Wow, those people getting registered to be taxed, that never stopped, did it? This governor in Pennsylvania named Wolf is trying to raise them even now. He is talking about taxing things that God gave us. Can you believe that? God gives us free things as He said He will provide all our needs, and those people in Washington, DC, and in the State Houses, want to tax all of God's free gifts. Well, my human brothers and sisters, there is still no tax on Salvation through Jesus Christ, there is no tax gathered at The Cross of Calvary. No, this gift is free. We will learn more about this on The Big Trip. Look, I must start packing. I just found out that, I, the lowly donkey, has been picked by Joseph to transport Mary on this long trip. I want to shake out my very best blanket for her to sit on. Oh, gosh, I am getting nervous. Help me, Clyde, help me find a really nice blanket.
Well, brothers and sisters, you can see that Donkey Dan has received the call to transport Mary to register to pay taxes. He better be on his very best behavior for what an honor among animals to be the very first animal to give the Baby, The Baby Jesus, His very first ride. Anyway, I want to tell everyone that I, Donkey Dan, have been chosen to transport Mary, so I think I will "Go Tell It on The Mountain."
Go tell it on the mountain,
over the hills and everywhere!
Go tell it on the mountain
that Jesus Christ is near.
(Yes, I have changed that last word to near. Please remember at this point in the trip Jesus has not yet been born.)
Dear Father in Heaven: Please guide all of our feet so that we might keep walking with Jesus daily and not slip and slide back, for we want to hold on tight to You and walk in the light each and every day, and Lord, we confess that some days are harder than others. In Jesus' Name, we pray and ask You to hold onto us. Amen.
Please go forth now and love and serve Jesus. And please keep singing. It makes each day go better. Love ya.

Oh, and if you want to go to midweek church without leaving your home, try Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, on Verizon it is channel 297. On tonight at 8:00 PM.

Tuesday 12/15/15 The Big Trip (9)
Dear Father in Heaven: You have done so much for us I just can't praise You enough. I do love You and I want to work the rest of my life telling others about Jesus and Salvation and Grace through the Cross of Calvary. Set me on fire for You this day and help me with a message that will put others on fire for You also. Please, Lord, forgive me of my sins and get me started right with You this day by furnishing me with the message and then helping me to get it dispatched. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, it is another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. It would be wonderful if the first snow of the season would be the Onion Snow in the spring. Please keep praying for us and for God to heal some of our pain. Well, I want to get right to the message today.
Tuesday: December 15, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Nine)
Matthew 1:19 - Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet. 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a Son and they will call Him Immanuel which means 'God with us.'" 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, we have talked about Zechariah and Elizabeth and how their son John was brought about even at their old age. We have looked in on Mary who was a virgin at the time when she was told she was selected to become the birth mother of Jesus. But what about this man, this earthly man, a carpenter named Joseph who has been picked to help raise up Jesus in His tender years. What would he think about all of this? God pointed me to the scriptures in Matthew for this.
So let me start by asking all of you men this question. You are dating a young lady, a teenager, and you are not much older than her. You have never touched her in any way to get her in the motherly way and she has claimed to be a virgin. You find out about the coming of a baby and you would be upset or I would think you would be. I know I would have been. You are ready to call off the wedding, or even get a divorce as you might have just gotten married when you find out about this baby. Then she tells you this child is special and the Holy Spirit entered her womb and placed this child in her. You are pondering over these things when the angel of the Lord, and more than likely this angel was Gabriel again, sets you straight. So then what? Are we going to trust what we dreamed about? However, since we are men of God we decided to stick it out. So now we are going to accept the child and of course Mary. What happens if people say things, how will we defend her honor? We are not going to beat anyone up who questions it, so what do we do? Well, we should do what we do right now when we are faced with decisions that are hard, which are difficult, we go to God in prayer and talk it over with Him and do exactly what He wants us to do. Brothers and sisters, nobody ever said that working for God would always be easy, but one thing for sure, it will 100% of the time be rewarding!!!
So now we start our planning to become the earthly father of Jesus. Listen to this statement God just gave me. Father God has just placed the delivery of our Lord Jesus into the earthly care of two people, Mary and Joseph, and sometime after that, Jesus will deliver both of them. And if we invite this Child into our hearts, He will deliver us also. AMEN.
Dear Father in Heaven, I pray that even on this day as we are in the Christmas season the greatest gift that people will give each other is the Truth that comes from believing in and knowing Jesus as their Savior. Today I pray many will come to You to be saved. Help me to do my part with the introductions. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth loving Jesus and serving Him ahead of all others. And maybe take time to sing this song. Love ya.

What a Day That Will be (James Hill)
There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come;
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye:
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore.
What a day, glorious day, that will be.
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace.
When He takes me by the hand and leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day that will be.
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear;
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there:
And forever I will be with the One who died for me.
What a day, glorious day, that will be.
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace.
When He takes me by the hand and leads me through the Promised Land

Friday 12/11/15 The Big Trip (8)
REPENT: FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS NEAR: REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR!! Amen.
Thank You, Jesus, for all things. Praise You, Jesus, for dying for me. Amen.
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You, and I give You all honor and glory for saving my soul. And Father, through Your Word, I give thanks for the refreshing I get from my Bible and hearing the music of Yours and the preaching coming from SonLife Broadcasting. Again, all honor and glory goes to You. Please help me with the message of this day and please help me to get it dispatched. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Today as once again I go into the character of Donkey Dan, I want to look ahead. The other day we witnessed the birth of John who became John The Baptist. I just want to bring out a little today about his life. So let me get started.
Friday: December 11, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Eight)
Luke 3:4 - As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him. 5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, and the rough ways smooth. 6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'" (NIV)
Isaiah 40:3 - A voice of one calling in the desert: "Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; and the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. 5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." (NIV)
Here we find two great scriptures telling us about "John" and what his special words would be. "Prepare the Way for The Lord!" Neil Enloe, singer-songwriter, would often look at me when they sang the song about "John The Baptist," telling people that I might just have that wild look of John. Brothers and sisters, in a way are we not all to be doing just what "John" did? Should not each and every one of us be telling all we can to, to Prepare The Way for The Lord? Of course we should be using that one word that a lot of people do not want to hear. REPENT!!! YES, REPENT! Repent, for the Kingdom of God is near. As we get ready to celebrate Christmas or the first coming of Jesus, we need to really be PREPARING THE WAY FOR HIS RETURN. And how do we do that? First, we clean up our own act, we get saved, you know, washed in the Blood, BORN AGAIN, and oh, how those words scare some folks. Here, let me scare a few more people. As it said on the side of the barn in Perry County, "Ye Must be BORN AGAIN." Before we get going on selling or telling others about our Lord Jesus, we should all invest in the time to be sure we are saved ourselves. Someone say Amen! I mean if you are going to be a Chevrolet salesperson, would you drive a new Ford? So we, before telling others of God, need to invest our own body and soul in Him. We need to trust Him with our very own life before we start going out and telling others to PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE RETURN OF JESUS!!! So how about it, will you take time right now with me and clean your slate? Get that fresh start? Now is the time!!! Tomorrow could be too late!! Please pray with me this sinners' prayer.
Dear Father in Heaven: I confess I am indeed a sinner and I ask this day for You to forgive me of my sins and please come into my heart and live. Please come over me and put upon me the Power of The Most High, the very power of The Holy Spirit. Reside in me, Lord, for I love You and I do believe that Jesus was born of a virgin mother and came to this earth just to die for all of us so that when we die we will be risen up with Him. I do believe He died on the cross for me and on the Third Day Father God raised Him from the dead to live and reign forever and ever. Please, Lord, place my name and all who are asking in the Lamb's Book of Life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, this is the very best life insurance that you can have and it is FREE FOR THE ASKING. Then after picking up your free gift, go to others and get them to join you so that some sweet day we will all meet at the feet of Jesus for our homecoming. So today, please go forth sharing the Love of Jesus by saying, "Prepare the way for the Lord." Love ya.

Thursday 12/10/15 The Big Trip (7)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I am thrilled that You love me enough that You died to save me from self-destruction. Dear Father, please forgive me of my sins this day. Lord, please be with Jimmy Swaggart Ministries as they raise the funds needed this month to stay on the air. Please help me to remember at this time of year that The Birth is about The Cross and what happened on that Cross at Calvary. Lord, please help to keep this line open and protected. Please help me now with the message and then to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, fifteen days until Christmas. Time is marching forth. The longest ten minutes in my young life was the ten-minute homeroom period in high school when waiting for that last bell so I could go out and get in my car and go to work. One of the things most of us did when I was young was have a job. I started out young being a paper boy. I earned enough money to buy my first car at age 15 and also my first truck. Paper routes were a good thing for young kids back in the day. I was not good enough to play little league sports, but I did love my paper routes. Anyway, time to move forward in The Big Trip, and old Donkey Dan is ready to go.
Thursday: December 10, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Seven)
Luke 1:57 - When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared in the joy. 59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, 60 but his mother spoke up and said, "No! He is to be called John." 61 They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who has that name." 62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone's astonishment he wrote, "His name is John." 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he began to speak, praising God. (NIV)
We animals were again in position to hear what was going on. Wow, it was time for baby John to be born, and I remember when the Angel Gabriel told Zechariah to name his son John, and then Zechariah questioned angel Gabriel and Gabriel closed his mouth. Wow, those three months went pretty fast, and that means it is just six months until another baby will be born, this one to be named Jesus. I am excited about that also. But let us go back into the room. Okay, I am right outside the window, and we can hear Elizabeth telling everyone that she as going to name the baby John. Then by writing a note to Zach they asked him and he said name his son John and at that point as promised Zechariah was able to speak again. Please note here that the first thing Zechariah did after getting his voice back was to praise the Lord. If God would punish us for three straight months, do you think when it ended we would give praise to Him, or would we be really mad?
This brings me to a question. Have you ever gotten mad at our Lord? I am talking after you have been born again. Have you ever been mad enough to yell at God and say something like, why don't you answer my prayers? I confess to you that I have done that and not all that long ago. I prayed to God right away and asked Him to forgive me, but it was one of those days when the pain level was up really high. Anyway, we are going to spend a day or two looking ahead at the life that John will have and how he got to be known as "John The Baptist," and what were some words of wisdom that he told others. Do you know what those words were?
Dear Father in Heaven, I am having a good time writing Your Word in the name of a Donkey. Please keep helping me with the message and may the message lead others to Jesus and the events of the Bible. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now please go forth serving Jesus. Love ya.

I Will Serve Thee (William and Gloria Gaither)
I will serve Thee because I love Thee;
You have given life to me.
I was nothing before You found me;
You have given life to me.
Heartaches, broken pieces,
Ruined lies are why You died on Calvary.
Your touch was what I longed for;
You have given life to me.
I will serve Thee because I love Thee;
You have given life to me.
I was nothing before You found me;
You have given life to me.
Heartaches, broken pieces,

Tuesday 12/8/15 The Big Trip (6)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I give You all honor and glory for looking after me and also those who mean so much to me. Thanks for saving my soul and blessing me with Salvation through Jesus and The Cross of Calvary. Please help me to spread the Word of Jesus Christ to the unsaved. Help us also to get Bibles into the hands of those who will use them. Please help me now with the daily message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: It is another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Every day like this is a day nearer to spring. I am excited about the Big Trip this year, although being Donkey Dan, I am sort of getting tired of eating hay and sleeping in the barn. Let me get to the message.
Tuesday: December 8, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Six)
Luke 1:38 - "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her. 39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, this is some really exciting scripture. It points out a few things to me. First, her answer to the angel Gabriel. "I am the Lord's servant!" Brothers and sisters, above all else and above everybody else, we should love our Lord Jesus, and above all others we also need to be His servant. He is not our servant, we are His or should be. We should also be a servant to others, many others. Also I want you to think of this, when you are indeed serving others, and doing good toward others, is that not also being a servant for Jesus Christ? I want you to think about that. How do you serve the Lord by serving others? I think of our trash people. We have three gentlemen and one lady on our trucks, and I am telling you they are there in all kinds of weather. How about our police and firefighters and all those first responders? And our military people, how many holidays have they spent away from their families while protecting us from the bad guys? Again I ask you, when serving Jesus, are you doing some of that by serving other people, maybe even people who hate you?
So Mary was excited to be a servant for Jesus, and she was so excited that she went to see her relation Elizabeth who was in her sixth month in the motherly way. And remember that Elizabeth was serving God also for she was carrying the baby which was to be the pre-runner for our Lord Jesus. And when she heard the good news, John, the Baby in the womb, must have also heard it for that Baby leaped for Joy. Now I do want to point this out. The Baby in the womb of Elizabeth was in the second trimester and we have doctors aborting babies long past that sixth month. So here we have an older lady and a teenage lady who have two things in common. Both are carrying babies who will serve God and both are really and truly servants of our Lord God. Someone shout Amen. Take a look at this.
Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (NIV)
God created each and every one of us, and he knew and knows all of us. Before He placed us in the womb, He knew and knows what His plan was for us. Will we follow His plan? I can't help but wonder, how many presidents, how many pastors, how many orchard workers, how many servants of God have been murdered in a process that here in America we call abortion? If we don't have enough truck drivers and we don't maybe it was caused by abortion. If we don't have enough good school bus drivers, maybe that was also caused by abortion. If your trash stands uncollected at the end of your driveway, maybe that should be blamed on abortion. Our president, President Obama, refers to himself as a Christian, yet this leader of the free nation, supports abortion. Is that being Christian? NOT IN THIS WRITER'S OPINION. IN FACT, HE COULD SIGN AN ORDER TO STOP IT, SO IN MY MIND OUR PRESIDENT IS AS GUILTY OF MURDER AS THOSE TWO FOLKS WHO DID THE SHOOTINGS IN CALIFORNIA LAST WEEK. Do any one of you think like I do on that one? Okay, time to move on today, and when I think of how I have been over the years, I am happy to say, "He's Still Workin' On Me."
He's Still Workin' On Me (Joel Hemphill)
He's still workin' on me
To make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
the sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be!
He's still workin' on me.
He's still workin' on me
To make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
the sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be!
He's still workin' on me.
Dear Father in Heaven, I am so happy that after all these years You are still willing and also able to work on me. Please, Lord, help me for as we age we shift gears, but we do still want to work for You, and yes, in this home, we also want to be Your servants. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now please go forth loving and serving Jesus. Love ya.

Monday 12/7/15 The Big Trip (5)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. Dear Father, 74 years ago today the Japanese bombed our Navy's Pacific Fleet stationed at Pearl Harbor. It was a day most people in America will never forget. But as we see today by the number of Japanese cars and trucks and other products that are made by Japanese people, while the event is remembered, the fences have been mended. This is what You have taught us to do, love our enemies. Yes, I pray we never forget what happened that day, and I am thankful that we have signed a peace treaty and have moved on to where we get along. How wonderful it would be if that could be used as an example of how things should work after things were really bad. Love is the number one gift You have given all of us and if we all loved You and would take the cue from You and love You and all others this could and would happen. We also know and have faith that some sweet day this will happen. So today, Lord, I want to pray for all those who hate us, all those who might hate me, and Lord, I want to walk with You and try to teach others that love. So many people do not have You in their life and that makes it impossible to love and forgive. Father, thanks for all You do for all of us and thanks for Jesus who died for all of us on the cross. Jesus, I do believe that You love me, that You died for me and that You were risen from the dead. Please help we who believe teach others that very, very important step in Love and the needed step in the Road to Heaven. Please, Lord, help me now with the message and then to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Pearl Harbor Day, brothers and sisters. I was just under seven months old when we were bombed. And while I don't remember anything other than what I was taught about that day, I do remember things that went on in later years of the war. I remember the air raid drills that we had. All lights had to be out, even the street lights were turned off. An Air Raid Warden would walk the streets with his flashlight and if you had a light on in your house they would stop and tell you. The sirens would blow and blow and yes, we, we little ones were scared. I can remember in school how we not only had fire drills, we would also have air raid drills. We would stand in the halls with our faces buried in our arms so as not to have our eyes hurt by the flashes of the bombs. To this day I just can't believe how hard it must be to raise a family in an area that is being bombed almost daily. Brothers and sisters, we really need to be centering our prayers daily on peace and the return of Jesus to give us that peace, and we need to be working hard to get THE WORD OF THE LORD OUT ABOUT SALVATION. Once again I want to remind you that if it would help you to bring someone to the cross by using what I write, by all means please use it. Now let me get to the message of today.
Monday: December 7, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Five)
Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." 29 Mary was greatly troubled at the words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be, 30 but the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31 You will be with child and give birth to a Son and you are to give Him the name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I have reused the part of the scripture from my last writing since it all ties together. We animals are sure getting excited, why, watching old Gabriel the angel of the Lord it is getting so exciting just to see what he is going to say next, for we animals know that his words are coming right from the Lord. And we animals know that our Lord God loves us also or He would not have made us. He also made man to take care of us. I was just telling Clyde, you know, my buddy Clyde the camel, that I am praying that Mary does not question what Gabriel is going to say, because he might then make her silent, and you just know how hard it would be on a woman not to talk. Hee Haw, did I say that?
Anyway, Gabriel told Mary that God loved her and she was highly favored in His eyes, and while Mary was troubled, she at her young age has learned to trust in God. Now Gabriel has told her that she is going to have a child and she is to call the child Jesus for He will save His people. You remember that Gabriel told Zechariah that he and Elizabeth even at their old age would have a son and to name him John. Now Gabriel is telling Mary who is just a teenager that she is going to have a boy, and how is this going to happen? Let's take a look and see what happens next. Back to the Bible.
Luke 1:34 - "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37 For nothing is impossible with God." (NIV)
Now Mary knew she was never with any man and was smart enough to know that she could not be in the motherly way without that contact by a man. (I made that nice, didn't I?) Anyway, how will Mary handle this? Wow, what a great honor to be having such a wonderful child, but how will you tell family and friends, how will she tell Joseph, the one she is engaged to? How will he understand this? How would you ladies feel? Try and put your feet into the shoes of Mary, and men, try and put your feet into the shoes of Joseph. How would we handle thees things? Right now we have been given things to do for the Lord. Do we question them or do we just go forth and do them? As we know, today we will not get that chance to do what Mary and Joseph did; however, our jobs working for God are just as important. If we refuse our assignments from God, will we be made silent? Or could or would something else happen to us? Tomorrow we are going to see just how Mary handles this and how Joseph finds out about his beloved Mary being with child. We are also going to find out a few things about Mary that we might not know, or maybe we will not even want to know. Well, Donkey Dee is about to bring me something to eat. Wow, that was good. Tomorrow we are going to find out what Mary said to the angel and how she will start to handle the assignment that is being given to her. We animals are so excited about this, oh, I want to sing about it. Hee haw, hee haw. We animals must watch where we stand for we are standing on Holy Ground.
We are standing on Holy ground,
And I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus now.
We are standing in His presence on Holy ground.
We are standing on Holy ground,
And I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus now.
We are standing in His presence on Holy ground.
Dear Father in Heaven, help us to accept and carry out any and all assignments that You might give to us. And Lord, help us to do them to the very best of our ability knowing and trusting in You and knowing that You will not let us fail. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth loving and serving Jesus and remembering this.
We are standing on Holy ground,
And I know that there are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus now.
We are standing in His presence on Holy ground.
Love ya.

Love ya.

Saturday 12/6/15 The Big Trip (4)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You and I really appreciate that You died on the cross for all of us. I am so thankful that I am born again and I give honor and praise and glory to You for forgiving me of my sins and sending the Holy Spirit over me and to comfort me. Thanks for watching over this line and thanks for watching over all who use it. Please help me with a message and then please help me to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: We have just received a new supply of Read-N-Grow children's picture Bibles. If you would like to have one, please contact us. We also have new Gideon's Bibles. All Bibles would be gifted to you. Please let us know if you would like one or both if you could use them. It is another beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. Three weeks from today, Christmas 2015 will be in the history books. Can you believe that? Time to get to the message.
Saturday: December 6, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Four)
Luke 1:26 - In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." (NIV)
It has been just six months since Elizabeth became pregnant with a baby who Zechariah has bee told to name John. We remember that Zechariah was not sure if he wanted to believe Gabriel, the angel of the Lord, so when he questioned that this would or even could happen, he was made not able to talk. So now we see this same angel talking to Mary, who we often refer to as The Virgin Mary.
I, Donkey Dan, was sitting where I could overhear what Old Gabriel was saying. It was very clear to me that he said: "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." At this time I pointed out to Clyde, my buddy the Camel and to Moo-Moo the cow that Gabriel said Mary was highly favored, but he did not say she was not a sinner. Now Moo, I call her that for short, believed me but Clyde, he wanted me to prove that because he said Mary never sinned in her short life. Well, I had to show him in the Bible and for that we did look ahead in time. And for that once again I must refer all of you to Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NIV)
At this time I want to take you back to near the beginning of time, right about the time that my ancestors were getting ready to board the Ark. In the Bible back then we find out that not even Noah was without sin.
Genesis 6:9 - Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. (NIV)
And folks, we just know that old Adam and Eve messed up. You see we all sin, yes, even we donkeys. Old Trigger tried to tell me that horses don't sin, and I reminded him about a few things he did wrong, but that is for another day. Anyway, Angel Gabriel is about to give Mary a message from the Lord. Will it be good news or bad news? I guess we will find out tomorrow. And we are also going to hear from this baby tomorrow, yes, from a baby who is to be called "John." So do you want to sing today? Of course you do, for so many have told me that.

I just ask today that You help me to witness to someone today and I pray that I will work hard for You trying to lead them to the cross. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Now go forth serving Jesus and working hard for Him and loving Him and all others, even those who might hate you. I love Jesus and I love all of you also.

Thursday 12/3/15 The Big Trip (3)
Dear Father in Heaven: I love You. It is great to have the sun coming in to our window and The Son in our hearts. We are thankful that Matthew is out of the hospital land back to his home. Thanks for watching over us and over this line. Please be with families of those who have lost their lives and also please heal those injured in the attacks by the terrorists in California yesterday. Please, Lord, help those in Washington wake up and understand this is a war against a Christian nation. Please, Lord, bring forth a good qualified leader for the United States next year, or better yet, dear Father, please send Jesus back to get all who love Him. Also, please help us to keep working to get more people to come to Jesus. Help me now with the message and may the messages that You permit me to write on this line help to lead people to the Cross to be saved. Please help me to also get the message dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters, sorry about yesterday. Feeling better today and trying to remember that so many people have more pain than I do and that Jesus also went through a lot of pain to save my sorry self from my sins and mess-ups. Please pray for peace, world-wide peace. Please pray also for our police officers for it is a war out there and all they keep showing us is when one police officer might do something wrong. Well, let old Donkey Dan get started with the message.
Thursday: December 3, 2015: The Big Trip by Donkey Dan (Day Three)
Luke 1:16 - Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years." 19 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. 20 And now you will be silent and will not be able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time." (NIV)
Wow, when Gabriel speaks we had better listen. Speaking of angels of the Lord, I just read in an obituary today that "this lady just passed on to become "an angel for the Lord." While that might sound nice in the paper, it is just not a fact. What would have sounded good would have been, this lady was "Born Again" and believed what Jesus did on the cross, and she accepted that.
When Zechariah questioned the angel Gabriel it was like he was questioning the very words of God. How often do we, yes, how often do we question the word of God? I want you to really think about that. How often do we not trust what He tells us in our prayers, and also when we read the Word of The Lord? I am going to spend some time this day addressing myself about this. Maybe you might want to do it also. Look at some of the commands He has given to us. One is that we are to go into the fields of Harvest and help harvest the crop. This crop we are to harvest is the crop of the lost souls or the crop of the lost people, or the crop of the non-believers. You know I better watch my step when I am walking, I would not want my Hee Haw to be taken away. How long has it been since you just flat out asked someone, are you Born Again? Once I was talking to a neighbor,he since moved, but I asked him if he knew Jesus as his personal Savior, and his answer was "I believe in the man upstairs." If you ask a question of someone about knowing Jesus and that is the answer you get, you need to be working on that person.
Another way we might not be trusting what God tells us is when it comes to our giving or helping of others. Think about that one. If everyone was treated just like Zechariah was when he questioned the messenger of the Lord, it sure would be a very, very quiet place to live. Think about this, Zechariah was very old, there were no medications back then to help an old man, and his wife Elizabeth was also up in years. Old Zach, instead of questioning it, should have just said, WELL, PRAISE THE LORD!! And went forth and really enjoyed the blessings of God. Think about it, when we are really being blessed by God, are we not enjoying those blessings? Maybe we better get to a song before God makes us silent.
