Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very, very much. Please forgive me of my sins this day. Thank You for watching over family and friends. Thanks for watching over our online flock and also our flock at The Bridges. Father in Heaven, please heal little Joseph and take care of him. Lord, be with the following families this day for in each family someone needs Your touch: Saylor, Emig, Crockett, Lehman, Hale, Beitzel, McNellis, Obama, Corbett, Fortney, and so many more. Lord, touch Sharon and Oliver, Tom and Dianne. Today, Lord, is Salvation Wednesday on this line. Please lead us to the lost so we can try our best to lead them to You. Please, Lord, help me with the message and then help me to dispatch it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, I have listed a lot of family names above, for in each family someone needs the touch of God, and in some of the families all need that touch, while others are people who are just on my mind that I have not heard from for a long time. Please pray for "little Joseph" which is the way I will be listing him. Also, I have asked for your prayers for Dolores and me, as we are in a lot of pain and we must make some adjustments in what we do. I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED. Some of you have been with me on this line for over 20 years. Now let me get started with the message.
Salvation Wednesday: August 27, 2014, Greatest Commandment (Day Two)
Matthew 22:34 - Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with this question: 36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I want to pick up where I left off yesterday. I was going over the Ten Commandments and pointing out that in my opinion if you truly follow the Greatest Commandment, and I mean really follow it, it covers the original Ten Commandments. I invite your opinion.
Exodus 20:8 - Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10a but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. (NIV)
This one might be the hardest for me to bring to light. If you recall Jesus healed on the Sabbath. Let me support that with Scripture.
Luke 14:1 - One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, He was being carefully watched. 2 There in front of Him was a man suffering from dropsy. 3 Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?" 4 But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, He healed him and sent him away. 5 Then He asked them, "If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?" 6 And they had nothing to say. (NIV)
So what day really is the Sabbath for us? Most Christians call Sunday their Sabbath; however, if you go by our calendar, would the Sabbath not be Saturday? The Bible tells us that for six days we shall labor and do all your work. I think if we truly follow the Great Commandment and you truly love Jesus, you will want to please and honor our Lord Jesus keeping each day holy and indeed take a day to rest. We have animals that require a lot of daily care. So we need to build in rest during the week, something that I never learned how to do. God once again has me writing a message to everyone, but maybe more so to me. So brothers and sisters, please keep each day, loving on Jesus and walking in His light, and He indeed will see you get rest. That is Commandment four.
Exodus 20:12 - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, if we truly follow the Great Commandment, loving God and loving your neighbor, I think this is really covered. If you do not love and honor your parents, how could you truly love God? Commandment five covered. Do you agree?
Let's do one more today.
Exodus 20:13 - You shall not murder. (NIV)
To me this is a no-brainer!! How could you say you love God and love your neighbor and then murder someone? First, let me clear a few things up. Killing in the act of war is not murder. A police officer who kills someone to protect himself or others has not murdered. But abortion is murder, for God indeed knew us before we were in the womb. In fact since the abortion is planned, I would say it was premeditated murder. Do you agree with me on that? This dear baby named Joseph could have been aborted, but this mamma chose to raise him. Baby Ally who we prayed for, for a long time, a Downs Syndrome child, brings so much joy to all she meets, she is a child of God. Thanks, Jim and Beverly, for bringing this dear child into our lives here at Carry The Light Ministries, and more so what is required of all of us when it comes to seeing the child through birth and then taking care of them. I love all of you.
And that takes care of the sixth Commandment.
So let me stop here for this day and say to all of you once again ... go forth now sharing your blessings, and know that I love ya. Please take time to share my love as you share the love of Jesus on this Salvation Wednesday.
