Dear Father in Heaven: I love You very much. Thanks for a beautiful day, and thanks for taking care of this line and for taking care of families and friends. Thanks for Your hand upon our daughter Danelle. Please, dear Lord, be with Grant and Wanda as they go to church camp and with Pastor Larry as he leads some studies. Please, dear Lord, help with decisions that need made. Please be with our President and other leaders. Be in MO and intervene in what is going on. Lord, please bring peace around the world. Be with our troops, police, firefighters, and all others who work to keep us safe. Please help our country get out their Bibles and come to You, and please help them to remember the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now, Lord, please help me with the message and then to get it dispatched. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
Dear brothers and sisters: It indeed was a beautiful day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole. The world is in turmoil, our homeland is in trouble, there is fighting in Iraq. Christians are being killed. In MO there are riots in the streets over a white police officer shooting a black teenager. In Chicago there are black brothers and sisters killing each other. People are blaming lack of jobs, blaming homes without fathers. In my opinion it is one thing. We have turned from God. Time to come back. So instead of my listing a lot of people to pray for this weekend, let us agree to pray for all people to return to God and if already with God to get stronger in His word. Now let me finish out this series on Judging Others.
Friday: August 15, 2014, Judging Others (Day Four)
1 Peter 5: 7/11 - 7 Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, as God has directed me to this scripture today, I would first like to thank my neighbor "Art" who has pointed me to a place online where I can pull up Bible verses and when I use long ones I can copy and paste them. It did take me a tad of time to wash the glue off the computer screen when I tried to paste them. Okay, kidding about that. Thanks, Art. I am blessed to have you as a neighbor.
The Bible tells us to "Cast all your anxiety on Him." Anxiety to me is caused by sin. It also tells us to be "self-controlled" and our real enemy is the devil. Folks, let's learn from that, our real enemy is Satan and not those neighbors, family members, and others that people are trying to judge. If we as Christians would all pull together, lock arms around each other, things would be much better. Now look at this part. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. That is so true as we look around this world. In fact, and think about this, in America right now we have it so good compared to other countries.
The Bible tells us after we suffered a little while, Jesus Himself will restore us all. So how about it tonight, will you join me in prayer giving all your sins over to Jesus who is still in control, still in the driver's seat? And then work very hard at not judging others.
Dear Father in Heaven, right now I cast all my sins over to You and I ask You to forgive me. Thanks, Lord, that I can return and find Your blood still flowing from Calvary and You are in control. Heal us now, please, of our sins and hurts. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Now go forth and share your blessings. Jesus loves you, and I love ya also. Please pass on the love of Jesus and mine also.
Pastor Dan
