Thursday 6/7/12 Building a Bridge 3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

“I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Good Thursday Morning, my dear brothers and sisters. It is a BEAUTIFUL day here at the Southern Location of the North Pole.  Today is the day we pray for churches, schools, and families.  As schools let out for the summer, keep the prayers going and pray for Vacation Bible Schools.  Please also pray for the eyesight of Art, and also of Mark.  Let’s get to the message of today!

Building a Bridge:  Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

John 14:6 – “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” (NIV)

Do you notice something about the scriptures on the messages, something that seems to run on the same subject?  “The Scriptures are about Faith and Love.”  That is true also about the scriptures today, they are about love …

Let me ask you a question!  Have you ever watched a bridge being built, a nice new bridge that is to replace an older bridge?  Maybe the older bridge is worn or cannot handle the heavy traffic or the volume of traffic.  Maybe you watch as it happens and then the big day comes and some politician who has spent OUR money on the bridge comes out and cuts a ribbon.  The new bridge is open … What happens to the old one, well in some cases they “blow them up”, even if they could have been used for local traffic or a bridge for walkers or bike (pedal type) riders to use.  In some areas, maybe that old bridge could be used by the Amish folks so they would be safer in their travels.  But no, the bridge is thrown away.  Do you remember back to the beginning of my messages on building a bridge how I talked about building a bridge between you and your neighbor instead of building fences?  Maybe you built a new bridge to a new neighbor and it is carrying that traffic wonderfully, BUT you left one of the old bridges get away from you, you forgot about that old friend.  Wow, that reminds me of a song from my Bible School days.  “Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.”  Tomorrow we are going to build the bridge from Earth to Heaven … Please bring a blank piece of paper with you, and a pen or something to write and/or draw with … Let’s pray!!

Dear Father in Heaven, I love You.  Thank You again and again for the messages that You place on my mind to write, all honor and glory to You.  Please be in our schools as they end for the year and then in our churches and the Vacation Bible Schools.  And Lord, bless our families and bless all those who work with the families of Carry The Light ministries.  Please be with Ron, Dolores, Vicki, Noah, Joann, and others who need that healing hand.  And Lord, please restore the sight for Art and Mark.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Now go forth sharing your blessings and loving others and helping to build good bridges.  Love ya, Pastor Dan.
